Vino el Amor #86, Friday, March 3, 2017: Vino el Date Night
Basically a lot of your favorite and not so favorite Vino el Amor couples go out on dates. Some are more successful than others. And we get a HUGE fight at the end.
(Corrected a few things here and there after looking at the transcript. :))
- David and Luciana are finishing up the last episode's makeout. Luciana stops them to worry that his kids won't accept her when he tells them about their romance.
- Juan's got a plan. But first he nags Mark to get his feet off the furniture. OK, the grand master plan is that he will help out Gut with his political issues. It's a perfect time to get close to him since David has withdrawn his political support. Then Gut won't bother him again.

- Susan, David and Luciana went and got coffee. Susan is far more tolerant of this dumb office PDA than I would be.
- Seems like David got a bright idea to set up an office near his employees in Juan's old office. Then he can spend more time working near Luciana. So he and Luciana will share Juan's old office. David leaves the ladies to work on some analysis. Which means they start discussing Luciana's worries about David's family and Miguel. David interrupts this to ask Luciana to come with him somewhere.
- Juan tells Mark to get his dang feet off the furniture again. Then he makes him get up and look at olive oil business numbers. They are looking good. Mark urges him to call Gut. Juan urges Mark to once again remove his feet from the furniture. And then he calls Gut.
- Back in David's new office, Luciana and David appear to be actually working. Sort of. Gracie approaches.

- Gracie did not realize David had moved into Juan's old office. He tells her it's to be closer to his employee(s). She asks his permission to take the kids into town. They bicker a little about these things and then David tells her that he and Luciana have a lot of work to do. OIC, says Gracie, "working" together.

- He reminds Gracie that she was going to take his kids to town and wishes her a good time. She looks really excited, not, but thanks him and says see you later. David and Luciana crack up.
- Fer, Bobby and Charlie pounce on Gracie when she gets to the house. She is really not feeling this chauffeur duty after all that's going on and tries to get out of it with a big guilt trip about how she's not feeling well and she's upset about life. The kids guilt trip her back plus Bobby threatens to tell Dad, and she ups the ante on the pity party, blaming David for making her feel upset. A few more rounds and Fer is understanding and Bobby apologizes. Gracie caves and agrees to take them.

- Luciana and David are in the mansion home office now and apparently they did get a lot of work done. Words I never thought I'd type, for sure. Dave breaks out the glasses because it's happy hour! Even better, David points out that Sonia, Gracie, the kids and Lilian are all out for the night. They are alone. All alone. Completely alone. Suddenly, their theme song, Azucar Morena by Carla Morrison is blasting and the makeout session has commenced.
- Azucar plays louder as it gets more intense. At one point, Luciana pushes David up against the wall. He doesn't break the kiss, but he leads them out the office door and to his bedroom.
- Once in the bedroom, he does think to lock the door. But it's time to get down to business. The kissing is intense, Carla is singing Azucar, Azucar, and the shirts are coming off. David lowers Luciana to the bed and the lovemaking commences.
- Meanwhile, in Sonoma, Leon and Sonia on their date have run into Ramon and Marta on their date. Sonia calls Leon "lion cub" and he's mortified. Marta reminds her of something she already told her about Leon and he's mortified. Sonia goes on about her love and he's so embarrassed. Ramon is amused.
- The lovemaking session continues and we hear voiceovers of the duo professing their great love as we watch them go at it. I watched the Mexican version and didn't think it was too explicit. It was actually kind of romantic and I don't usually say that about these two. I don't think Univision cut too much if anything.

- On a far more G-rated date are Fer and Tano, who are ever growing to be the cutest couple by far on this show. He didn't care much for the movie, but he liked that she liked the movie. Aw! They start to profess their love but...
- Bobby and Charlie barge in and catch them kissing. Tano makes them promise not to tell anyone. Charlie opens his trap and tells Fer and Tano that Bobby has a girlfriend too, named Summer. Bobby denies it all.

- Gracie had been out shopping while the kids were doing their thing, and she's feeling done and ready to go home. So she breaks up the fun. VAMOS.
- In the afterglow, David and Luciana sweet-talk each other. He promises to always make her happy. She's happy. They go in for round two. Better make it fast, the kids are on the way.
- Not having such a great date night are Lilian and Gut. They bicker over her dumb remarks to the press. Then they see Ramon and Marta on their date. Lilian teases them. Gut suggests they go elsewhere but Lilian wants to stay. Gut tells Marta she's right, she belongs with a Mexican. Then Sonia comes out and runs into them. Uh oh. Lilian asks if she's out with Marta and Ramon.
- Carito and Perla watch over the latest batch of illegally trafficked immigrants. Carito is hoping they will find a way to escape. Apparently two already did, and Perla takes that as being ungrateful for their services. The ladies have their usual debate about whether or not they should be involved with illegally trafficking immigrants.
- Marta covers for Sonia. Leon has joined the group and Marta says that she, Ramon and Leon were out and ran into Sonia who was shopping for the household. Lilian sends Sonia to go back to work. Marta tells Gut that Lilian will cause him problems and maybe his job.
- Perla tries to reassure Carito, who is very worried about her, and leaves. Carito starts handing out sandwiches to the men. One of them nicely thanks her and she asks him about the man who escaped. The man with the sandwich knows nothing. She advises him to look for opportunities to escape, as this is not a good place to be.
- Erika and Miguel work late. He tells her about his dream to own his own vineyard. She believes it will happen but encourages him to travel and learn as much as he can about the business. He's going to work hard to make her young wine a success. She's charmed by his efforts to please her. It turns into a makeout session.
- Gracie is home but we don't get to see any discoveries as she finds David alone in his home office. He asks her how the night with the kids went and she says fine. Fer comes in and pretends like she went to the movies with Gracie. David says next time he should come, but Fer says nope. Fer tells David that Tia is the best and says good night. Gracie asks David how his night went. He says "perfect." Gracie then notices the half-emptied wine glasses. Doesn't seem like working was happening...
- Back in employees quarters, Sonia and Marta bond and she's grateful for Marta's help. Marta is happy to see how happy she makes Leon. Sonia realizes she better get back to the mansion kitchen and says good night. Luciana joins the group and is noticeably perky. Leon says good night, as does Ramon, who gets a peck on the cheek from Marta. Left alone, a wise Marta tells Luciana she doesn't know that smile...
- David tells Gracie he was "working" with Luciana. Gracie snarks about the wine. David continues that they were working on plans for work and for life. Gracie asks if he's into Luciana. David says, yes, indeed he is. Cue the implosion...
- Marta knows exactly what happened. Luciana knows everything was perfect. She and Luciana have their usual conversation about Luciana's feelings and the need for her to be careful about them based on Marta's life experience. Luciana is way too happy to listen to this and decides to go back to work at this late hour.
- Gracie asks if it's serious. David says it is. Gracie freaks out and gets upset. What about them? David explains that they are not a thing and it's completely different with Luciana and he loves her. "No puede ser!" Gracie tells him they are making a mistake. David says no, Luciana loves him too and they will fight for their love. Gracie is shook to her core.
- Date night for Susan and Cesar. No-game Cesar suddenly has game and lets Susan know he's interested. They go in for a nice kiss.
- Gracie mentions how difficult this will be for the kids. David says they are the most important for him. He plans to speak with them. Gracie says that Luciana will never make a better mother than she would for them. David says no one will ever replace Lisa as their mother but the kids will understand and accept his romance. Moreover, Gracie better not say anything to them or anyone else before he does. All Gracie can do is choke out a wish for his happiness.
- Poor Cesar really has no game because what I thought was a nice kiss didn't do it for Susan and she's back to her "I don't know" and "I don't want a relationship" bit again. They agree to be just friends.
- Fer and Bobby are asleep in the TV room. Must have been watching Cesar and Susan's date on TV. Anyway, David wakes them up. I guess his plan was to tell them about Luciana, but they are way too sleepy to hear it, and he puts them to bed instead. They'll talk tomorrow.
- Mark for once makes things interesting and calls Susan while she's still on her now non-date, violating his restraining order. Why? He wants to see her again. She tells him, see ya in court, and hangs up. Cesar calls the police to report the violation of the restraining order.
- Lilian confronts Sonia in the kitchen over being a traitor. She totally knows Sonia was out with Marta's son and threatens to make life difficult for both of them if the relationship continues.
- Hey! Luciana is actually working! In the wine cellar, but she's interrupted by a furious Gracie who wants to let her know Luciana will not be with David. Luciana first tries to tell Gracie to mind her own business, but when that doesn't work, she states that she is indeed with David and no one will separate them. Gracie says it is her beeswax and she will do what she needs to do make sure she gets what Gracie wants, understand?
- Luciana and Gracie's confrontation continues: Luciana says Gracie's threats won't work. Luciana is completely with David and nothing will separate them. Gracie says over her dead body! Luciana brings up the kids and asks if she doesn't want the kids to be in a happy family. She says she knows Gracie just pretends to like the kids in order to sleep with David and fills their head with garbage. Gracie insists she's the one for David and Luciana will never make him happy. Luciana raises her voice to say she's with David, and David gets to decide who he's with, whether Gracie likes it or not! Gracie says she's part of the family and Luciana is not. Luciana bluntly tells her, "David doesn't love you." They soap stare at each other.
- Susan is a giant mess after Mark's call and Cesar can't calm her down. They need to go to the police station, but Susan decides she doesn't want to go to the police, she wants to go to Canada. Cesar tries to reason with her, but Susan somehow lumps all men in the same category as Mark and leaves abruptly. Ugh.
- Gracie keeps insisting that she and David are end game, and Luciana tells her that's not happening. Gracie blames Luciana for her and David not being together. She knew David loved her when he kissed her. Luciana tells her to stop fantasizing, and Gracie takes offense and tells her to shut up. Luciana says that David loves her for who she is, and Gracie needs to gain some dignity and give it up. Gracie screeches at her to shut up and starts to hit her, but Luciana deflects the punch, and being Luciana, she's basically ready to physically fight. Luciana tells her one more time that David is not interested in Gracie as a woman, or a business partner or anything else. The only reason Gracie is still around at all is because she is good with Fer. Gracie mouths off one last time to tell Luciana that she'll never be with David because she's a bitch, and Luciana smacks her good and hard. Gracie gathers herself for a second and then screeches a last insult and threat at Luciana - she will make sure the kids hate David and Luciana - and leaves. Luciana slams her palms down on the countertop, clearly worried and frustrated by that confrontation.

dy, I just read your excellent El Color recap and I see you did this as well. Did you get any sleep? El Color must have been so exhausting, I don't know how you managed to create another exceptional recap for Vino, and yet you did. You are amazing!

I watch TN's for romance, the promise of and realization of passion and a love between a couple that remains steadfast and true. The journey that increases the tension and the expectation is part of the process. Yet, we have watched 86 episodes and have seen our main couple kiss but a few precious times. Going from a few exploratory kisses to coming together just seemed to shortchange things a bit.
I'm far more invested in Fer and Tano (I'm eye rolling as I write this). Sad but true.
In reality, Gracie has been aiding and abetting Fer's deception in dating Tano far more than Lucia. But when it all comes out, it will be Lucia that will be blamed. Graciela will surely fan that fire.
As Susan isn't into Cesar, and he is clearly into her, he has to either accept he's permanently in the friend zone or they need to stop spending so much time together so he can find someone who deserves him. I'm only hoping Ramon has a better chance with Marta.
That said, I really have no interest in either Brian or Lili or Marta (as far as her relationship with Brian). I wish this story would end.
We knew Mark wouldn't stay away from Susan...I wonder when his being Juan's partner will be revealed to David?
Gracie has fully revealed herself to Lucia. Family or not, it's time for David to send her and mama packing.

I almost enjoyed the Graciela/Luciana fight as much as Juan/David. Thankfully its not over, goodie, goodie. It was awesome after Luciana slapped Graciela hard and she slowly straightened her hair, calmly looked at Luciana before growing shrill again. What an incredible character portrayal by KDR.

That got Luciana's attention and she quickly asked how so but David returned and off they went. Will she care now she slept with David?
tofie, thank your for that very important tidbit about Susan's spill regarding Miguel. I totally missed that (not that I would have understood even if I were paying careful attention).
Are the writers just trying to keep us thinking there is some possibility Luci and Miguel might reunite or is it more than that? I have no idea but I think there is unfinished business between the two.

Ooooh weeee! My David and Lucia finally! I was losing hope that they were ever going to be together as a couple and even do the deed. They did not disappoint either. GS and IB are so pretty together and I know the age difference can be sticky in tn's but I personally love that they are not traditional. I think older men are attractive to a lot of younger girls. Hateful little wench that she is, DisGrace is by far the most interesting one in the show now. In the past when she had her cool calm collected Real Estate chick personna I hated her, but now like Delilah pointed out, the crazy eyes and twitching, she is more fun than a barrel of monkeys. I just hope she has a sprained wrist when she blows a head gasket because it will be Dy-No-Mite! #Norockwillbesafe as Sue would say.

Thanks, DY! I'm with Delilah, WHOO HOOO!!! "Let's get it on. . . aw, baby, let's get it on!....Shugah!" And they even played a song with "shugah" in it! Hell, yeah, my man has been loved starved and dealing with back-stabbing friend, psycho-killer sister in law and her momma, I think the pacing was fine. David has gotten screwed from the beginning of this show, I'm glad he finally got screwed in a way he liked! With all these crazy-assed people on his back all the time, Dave didn't have time to go to San Fransisco. The house was empty for the first time in what, EVER, virgin or not, Luci was willing, YAH BABY!

OT..Lila..sorry that your Starz did not show season one of Outlander. I am watching both seasons again . Target has the dvds. If you like the books, I think you would like the TV series. It is basically an 18th century Scottish telenovela. Great escapism. Lovely galan.

Absolutely! Dave and Luci have pledged to fight together for their love. They'd better install some cameras and press the cell phones into service. Remember how Dave and Luci exchanged amused smirks when Gracie came into the office and snickered to each other after she left. thanks DY the recaps enhance this show. It is fun to watch the actors and scenery but the story line and accents make me crazy.
I appreciate how this show has often incorporated current technology realistically, ie the use of Skype/FaceTime, social media benefits and pitfalls, dead batteries and the like. Given Luci's age her phone would be in her pocket or on the table readily accessible to record her encounters with Grace. (I loved how Alex filmed the threat by Fer's dad in AQNMD recently).
I'm an Outlander fan too, I dropped the cable tier carrying STARZ because of back catalog availability issues and subscribe through Amazon Prime which gives you all the seasons. HBO Go has more than my on demand service.

OT..Lila, did you Google "Connie Verbak killing time"? If you have not finished Dragonfly , be careful because she did those recaps and captioned screencaps for both season one and two. Carlos used to do funny captioned screencaps in his recaps for CI. It is the only reason that I kept watching that weirdo show. I have not seen Carlos here in a long time. I hope that he is okay.

I still don't hate the LMGR polygon of doom (almost exclusively due to Azela Robinson and Cynthia Klitbo at this point), but I absolutely get that it's a sort of circular holding pattern of...not nothing, but not very much either. Ramon finally warming Marta up to him is welcome, but it's far and away the lowest-key quasi-relationship on the show--and since it's tied to Lilian and Magic Brian, there's still that air of "Ugh, here we go..." tied to it. We're, or at least I'm, still stuck waiting for the big reveal of all the details of Marta and Lilian's feud over dead Fernando...which is probably the most circular thing on the show.
But still-considering this was the episode where David and Luciana finally made up for far too much lost time and got it on, the actual sexing and just about the rest of the damn episode was upstaged singlehandedly by Kimberly Dos Ramos's face. Graciela's head almost literally visibly short-circuited when she found out that David and Luciana were a thing, let alone when she went bull-charging after Luci later, and it was glorious.

Thank you everyone! The cool thing about Vino if there is one is that there's a Facebook group that has secret, non-virus-laden links to most of the episodes. So you can cheat and do the recaps in advance if there's a busy week. (So it was doable to do two although I'm glad my days of two shows are done for now.)

Only reason Miguel told Susan (and Cesar) was for it to get back to Luciana and it nearly did. David better hope Miguel moves on for that will make Luciana really fight to be with him. However, if she can convince Miguel there is hope she can cut and run if it becomes too difficult.

What is really scrambling DisGrace's yolks is that she had schemed all along on the assumption that she need only worry about Luci getting to David. If she could best Luci at the 'Get David' game she won.
Now she is seeing that not only does she have that (losing) war going on, but another major flare up is that David is into Luci, another equally large problem she had not anticipated.
