Vino el Amor, #136, Friday Apr 28, 2017: Cell Phone of Doom II

Sorry, Lisa's phone. We liked you. But we like Perla's phone better. Because sometimes the sequel is better than the original.

Grace's phone says "UNKNOWN," and she doesn't take the call. She says it's probably a vendor for the wedding and she can't deal with any more of those calls today. (Do a lot of reputable businesses like to show up as "UNKNOWN" on caller ID? I doubt it. UNKNOWN means Rachel from Card Services, or one of her friends. If it's important, they leave a message!)

David takes the liberty of picking up and is surprised to hear Juan. "Why the hell are you calling Graciela?" David asks. "Why don't you ask her?" replies Juan. But clever, vestless David says he won't take that bait a second time! Juan says he has something to work out with Grace. David tells Juan to leave her alone. "You don't know what you're doing," Juan says. David warns Juan that the police are closing in. Juan says he'll resurface when David least expects it.

Grace is grateful to David and "admits" that Juan has called her multiple times, always from a different number (how can she tell, if it's unknown... never mind...) and that's why she didn't want to pick up. He tells her that Juan's a coward and won't come here. With dewy eyes, Grace says, "for the first time in my life, I feel protected." (Maybe she should try a different deodorant.) "I will always protect you and my whole family," he promises. Grace is afraid Juan will do something to David. David says no he won't, and if he calls again, tell me. She SWEARS that she will.

Grace tells David that Juan vowed not to leave her alone until he got what belonged to him, and got even worse when he found out David was taking his land. David said he'll have the police investigate Juan's workers, because he's sure they've been communicating with Juan. (I'll bet the police will be pleased to receive this tip. They will ask one another why they didn't think of that.)

Grace is upset that Juan will spoil their wedding, which is just a few days away. David tells her not to talk to Juan, because he is desperate and only wants to hurt them. And from now on, she should tell David everything. (Ha ha ha, pull up a chair...)

David wishes Grace good night, and leaves her room (so apparently they're not bunking together). Grace's eyes dart wildly back and forth.

Juan is enjoying a drink in bed when Perla comes home with the day's vittles. He says all they need now is to get Grace's money and they'll have it made. Perla is glad because she's worried that she'll be arrested on a trip to the store. She remarks that she hasn't seen him looking so contented in a long time. He gloats that everything is going perfectly.

Perla hopes they'll use that money to go away, because they can't go on like this. Juan agrees - but they can't leave until he's finished David. Perla rolls her eyes.

Marta brings Luci some coffee in the multipurpose room, but nothing for herself. Luci confesses that she can't stop thinking about David's wedding. If it weren't for her work and Miguel's support, she's not sure how she would be doing right now.

Marta "helpfully" tells her to be happy. It's just a question of deciding to. (Grrrrr) And once Grace and David are married, Marta will never see the kids again. They'll never let her. Luci thinks Grace can't prevent Marta from seeing them, and says they (Luci and Marta) need to move ahead with their lives.

Grace is in David's study, looking at her tablet, poking at her phone, and having a little meltdown. Fortunately, she's talking to herself, so we can hear her thoughts. She says she won't give a single dollar to that loser. She grabs her tablet and her phone and dashes out of there.

Leon and Tano talk about Sonia's snit. "You know how women are," Tano says, and this is the third time this week that I'm thinking he sounds like kind of a know-it-all. The publisher is getting antsy for an answer, but Leon can't get near Sonia for an answer. He's trying to buy some time, but he's not sure if he can. All he cares about is getting her to forgive him.

Leon gets up from his chair and says emphatically that if Sonia doesn't want to be published, that's fine with him. He'll respect her decision. But it would be a shame. Tano gets up too and tells Leon he has to get Sonia to feel his resolve. He'll kill two birds with one stone - get her forgiveness and convnce her to publish.

Lil comes up to look for Grace, who hasn't come down for breakfast. Maybe she should offer Cocoa Puffs for the cuckoo. Lil tries to talk to her about being stressed out over Juan and the wedding, but Grace springs out of that sofa and says, "you have no idea what I'm going through."

Grace says Juan called and David answered and put him in his place but I can't go on with all this pressure and all my future, all I've done and have put up with for all these years, it's to get this wedding, it's not for just whatever, yadda yadda twirly eyes...

Concerned, Lil gently approaches and says, "I don't like to see you this way. You are my child." Grace responds sarcastically, it's too late to be worried about her. She should have taken care of that long ago, when Grace needed her but Lil preferred Lisa a thousand times over. Doesn't Lil understand that all of this would have been so much easier if David had married Grace in the first place, rather than Lisa. (If we connect these two thoughts together, does that mean she thinks David preferred Lisa because Lil preferred Lisa?)

Lil says that doesn't matter now, because Grace is going to marry David. And David will marry her. Grace is very worked up about all the work she's had to put into it. Lil says she shouldn't let it get to her. "YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND ANYTHING," Grace wails. Lil tries to lay a comforting hand on her shoulder, but Grace tells her to get out and leave her alone. "Fine, do what you want, as always," Lilian says on her way out. Grace's eyes dart back and forth.

Bobby has gathered his Cristiano Ronaldo memorabilia, and is plotting to have his soccer hero sign everything. David comes in (unaware that Bobby is expecting this superstar as a guest at the wedding) and Bobby asks if he can wear a soccer jersey to the wedding. Er, no. But David is glad his boy is so excited about it. Bobby says his auntie has lots of surprises. "But I can't tell you because I promised her," he says. David is proud that Bobby can keep his promises.

Bobby is curious about his parents' wedding. David says it was smaller and more intimate than this one will be. Just family and close friends, that's all that mattered. He'll always miss Lisa, but she will always be in their lives. He still thinks of her every day. Bobby thought maybe after marrying Grace, David would forget about Lisa. Dave says that he's moving forward with his life, but he'll never forget Bobby's mother. Bob says she's with him when he's afraid. Dave says she's in their hearts.

Bobby asks if David thinks Mom would approve of him marrying Grace. He says yes, and he's marrying Grace to give her a place in this family and in this home. And also because she loves the kids and the kids love her. That's what matters most to David. This seems to satisfy Bobby.

In the employee kitchen, Ramon tells Leon that he misses Marta. He asks if it would be okay with Leon if he formally proposes to Marta that they get... cohabitated. Leon's good with that.

Alone in her room, Grace flinches when her phone rings. She tells Juan she had to sell some art to get the money together, but she's got it. He wants it in certified bank checks. She wants to make the exchange at the Olive Garden, but he knows it's crawling with police. They will do it his way. He'll give her instructions tomorrow. (Grace opens a drawer.) Juan gloats. Grace will give Juan the money and he will be out of her life forever, she says as she caresses a gun.

Grace hangs up and mutters that nothing will keep her away from David now that she's so close to marrying him. "You will end up just like Lisa, Juan." She goes into a daze, flashing back to bashing Lisa with the rock. Then she comes out of it, blinking slowly...

Juan gently wakes Perla. Perla says she had a nightmare. She doesn't want him to meet with Grace. Yet again she tries to convince him to forget about David, take what little they have left, and leave now. She begs him not to go to Grace. They kiss and do some nookie, which we don't see. Then she goes back to pleading her case: if they work hard, they can make even more money than what he's getting from Graciela. She doesn't want things to get any worse. She's worried that Grace is setting a trap and he'll get arrested, but he thinks Graciela won't try anything like that.

Juan pauses and then says okay... we'll just finish this one caper and then leave. Perla promises to work hard to earn enough money for both of them in the future. Juan has an idea for today to ease some of her worries. We don't hear what it is.

Grace, dressed in blood red, tells David that she's marrying the best man in the whole world. She seems a bit hopped-up, and her eyes are darting all over the place. David reminds her to let him know if she hears from Juan again. She PROMISES. She says no one will ruin their wedding day, the happiest day of their lives. She kisses David quickly, and he tells her to be calm. "I am calm," she says, panting.

In the multipurpose room, Luciana and Marta drink coffee and talk about how great the coffee is. Marta's secret ingredient? Honey! Leon comes over for some advice about Sonia. They give lame advice, like "talk to her" (tried that) or "bring her a flower or something to eat or take her out to dinner." Then Luci says don't give up if it's just a misunderstanding. She tells him to ask Sonia why she doesn't want her novel published. "Don't let what happened to me happen to you," she says. (Fat chance of that. Sonia is nothing like David!)

Carito and Sonia talk in the big house kitchen. Sonia has noticed that Carito seems better ever since she came back. Carito says she no longer has that big secret to keep, and admits that she didn't get along with the other employees before she went away, except for Perla, who turned out to be a lousy friend, getting her into trouble. Sonia says she never got a good feeling from Perla, but never thought she'd be involved in something so awful. Carito says that Perla is so dazzled by love/obsession for Juan that she can't see how wrong it is.

Juan and Perla reverse-clean their room. They strategically position laundry items in heaps. Perla is so happy about the decision Juan has made. Soon they will move on with their new life. "You know I love you, right?" she asks. "I know," he replies, and then admits that he hasn't returned her love as much as she deserves. Perla regrets nothing and would follow him wherever he wants. He kisses her and says he doesn't deserve her. He tells her not to cry, and promises: you get the money from Grace and then we'll go far away. We'll start from scratch.

Evening. Leon enters the big house kitchen with a rose and some heavy rope. Carito clears out of there. Sonia turns her back and acts as if she's still angry with Leon, but her face tells us another story.

Leon apologizes for sending the book without asking first. He really liked it and didn't want it to be kept a secret. But he shouldn't have done it and they don't have to talk to the publisher if she doesn't want to. These last few days have been horrible. She can tie him up, or he'll wear [David's] shirts - he'll do whatever she wants. (Does he have a Power Ranger costume?)

Leon swears never to do anything like that again. She says she was angry because she took her things without "author"ization (see what she did there?) and she was also angry with herself, because she didn't like feeling vulnerable and exposed. Leon says that's the way it is with artists, and he thinks she should publish. But he did wrong, and he trusts her judgment. Anyway, she's talented, beautiful, smart... and just as Sonia is about to give in, Leon starts up again. Her talent shouldn't be a secret. She is touched. Leon backpedals again and says it's okay if she doesn't want to publish. He loves her. Sonia says she loves her lion cub too. They apologize to one another, get into a clinch, and I think they're good now.

In the distillery, Tano has a report for Susan and he says something about getting a better price from a bottle supplier kjsd f ksjdf ksd jsk I don't get all the details, but apparently this is based on something he just learned in school. She's happy to see him doing so well. So they're cool now.

Marta questions Miguel about his intentions towards Luciana, but she does so in the guise of being concerned for him. Is he interested in Luciana again? [Loud, dramatic piano note.] Miguel says he's always loved Luciana and he'll never forget Erika, but he needs to move on. Marta says Luciana is still hurt and it's too soon for her to be with someone else. David really hurt her. Miguel knows that and will try to help her forget the past and maybe be happy again with "someone else." "Like you?" Marta asks. Miguel says nothing, but he looks like he just got caught with a dirty book. She asks him to be patient and take it easy. He is like a son to her, and she doesn't want him to get hurt. Miguel takes her hand, says he'll be patient, and will show Luciana that she can be happy again.

Sonia and Leon go to the office in the distillery, where she says she's gonna teach him what making up really means. She pushes him onto a desk and tells him to say all that stuff that he said in the kitchen. She pulls down the shades over the glass walls and pushes all the stuff off the desk and tries to get on top of him, but he doesn't like that, so he gets on top of her, and she says "with tenderness?" and he says "just at first."

Perla carefully positions something in a pile of laundry. Not knowing what it is when I first see it, I wonder if it's a pet rock, because she speaks to it: "Everything will go just fine, my love. I love you. Here she is!" She makes a kiss at it and answers the door.

Grace's eyes dart back and forth when she sees Perla. Grace hesitates. Perla hauls her into the room and closes the door. She informs Grace that Juan isn't coming. Grace can just hand the money over, and then they'll be done. Outraged, Grace flips out and says "I'm not giving you anything!" She just wants to end this blackmail. Perla says she doesn't know what Juan has on Grace and doesn't care, so let's not complicate it. Grace screams that the only one making this complicated is Juan. (Are there no other guests in the hotel who can hear her?)

Perla again tries to get the money from Grace, but Grace insists that she will give it only to Juan. Perla cannot understand what the problem is. Grace shrieks, how does she know Juan will be quiet? Perla tries to plead ignorance again, but Grace is not having it. She's sure Juan told Perla, and Perla wants to blackmail her too. He won't keep her from marrying David. She doesn't believe Perla's claim that they're planning on leaving soon. They want to keep blackmailing her, but she's done with this game!

Perla says that Grace is the one who needs to pay for silence. That's why she's here. Grace says Perla can't threaten her; she's nobody. "I'm Juan's woman," Perla bravely says, "and you give me the money this instant, or I don't let you leave this room."

Grace scoffs and says, "you don't know who you're dealing with." Perla retorts, "you don't know what I'm capable of doing for him. Give me the money right now!"

Perla lunges for Grace's purse. They dance around a little. Grace shoves Perla onto the bed and pulls the gun out of her purse as Perla gets up. BAM! Right in the solar plexus. Grace looks calm, almost meditative, still holding the gun as Perla touches the wound and looks at the blood on her hands. Perla flops backwards onto the bed.

Grace snaps out of her daze and drops the gun. She looks at Perla gasping like a fish out of water on the bed, and puts the gun back in her purse. She grabs a lavender towel and wipes off the doorknob and turns off the light (why?) and leaves, pulling the door shut with the towel.

Perla cries alone, painfully, gasping "Juan, I love you" as she slowly bleeds to death in the dark. (Not total darkness, as there's some light from the window, but it makes for a dramatic shot.)

Juan comes home with a rose that he bought for Perla, but he quickly finds Perla on the bed. He climbs onto the bed, holds her lifeless body, and cries. "Forgive me, forgive me. I should have told you I love you before I left." He vows to kill Graciela.

David meets with Lil. He's worried about Grace. She's been very stressed and nervous. Lil says it's because of the wedding, but David thinks there's more. She seems anxious. Juan has been calling her. Lil says oh, that's why she's been so nervous. He doesn't like to see her this way. Lil says Grace needs to feel his love, his companionship. She thanks him for his concern. "It shows that you truly love her," she says. David winces a little and scratches his beard.

Juan swears again that Grace will pay for this. "I am an idiot," Juan says. "We should have gone like you said. You didn't deserve all that I did to you. You loved me, and I didn't know how to be worthy." He's really sorry they didn't leave. "You died because of me. Forgive me."

Grace still hasn't come home. Lil tries to convince David that it isn't very late, and wedding preparations take time. But he's worried that Juan got to her. Lil doubts it, but David is very concerned. David will be with the kids, so he asks Lil to let him know if she hears from Grace. After he leaves, Lil leaves Grace a voicemail.

Juan plucks Perla's phone from the pile of laundry. He watches the entire recording of Perla's preface, the scuffle with Grace, and the shooting. "Graciela, you will pay! You will pay!" he shouts over Perla's corpse.

And let's try not to talk about the [wicked awesome] avances... that goes double for me.

Vino la desgracia de Disgrace!! 0.0

Was the iPhone7 out when they made this TN?? Great resolution on the video..

I wonder...NoJuan told Perla this would be the last thing he would do(get this money from DisGrace); then they would go away. Although the video recording will be of great use to him, what was he planning to do with it? Get more money from DisGrace? And, knowing that DisGrace had killed before, why would he have Perla meet with her by herself? And it seemed that he had left the building...why wouldn't he be close by? DUMB! DU-DUMB! DUMB!!

RC

Where did DisGrace get the gun? Saw she wiped off the fingerprints so I guess that since only Juan's fingerprints will be on the doorknob or anything else she will try to frame him.

I find it absolutely fascinating watching that look of crazy mad panic on Grace,'s tiny, perfect face . Kim is perfectly portraying that awful feeling when you cannot think straight or focus on what anyone is saying to you or what is happening around you because something really bad has just happened or is surely going to happen. Sheer panic. Grace is usually draped like a cape on Dave, listening to his every sigh, ready to supply his every need. But now, she is as hypnotised by fear as he usually seems to be. In the meantime, Dave is actually noticing that something is not right about his devoted handmaiden. Whatzup, Grace?

I and others told y'all either perla or Carito would die. I felt sorry for
juan. He really loved her. But he done her wrong. And he knew it. Real tears. Who knew?

When Gracie was lookin at her bank account on her tablet,I saw crazy take

But no.There's not enough episodes left to pursue something like that. Plus Carito is gonna need somebody to hold Her when she finds out perla got offed. The Anvils are a fallin.

Thank you julie.

Yeah he knew how crazy crazy was. why did he leave defenseless Perla out there for that psycho to go crazy and do whatever which is what she did,she
Killed her.

I thought Perla had NoJuan hidden there but she was talking to the hidden phone

And Marta. Here comes another bowl of Ice Cream That broad drives me to ......EAT.

Trying to set Migster and LuLu up again?

Yeah where DID she get the gun? What about thst waiting period? Did she just happen to have a spare?

The anvils are a'fallin. They tried to make us feel sorry for NoJuan and NoClue but I remembered how nasty they are. Bye.

RC, if dumbness had mass, here are just a few of tonight's tidbits which, added up, would be large enough to crush all the grapes in Sonoma simultaneously.

- Juan invites Grace to his apartment AND lets Perla handle the transaction - with a woman who has killed before. (Well, hit her with a rock and watched her die.)

- Grace doesn't demand proof of actual evidence from Juan. Lacking that but knowing his address, she doesn't call his bluff and send the police there, where they can get him for blackmail, fraud, embezzlement, biological warfare, ordering a hit that resulted in the sheriff's death, and leaving the cap off the toothpaste. At this point, Juan can offer Lisa's cell phone if it has evidence of the murder, but even if it does, I don't think they're going to care as much as they would have before he shot their sheriff.

- I don't know a lot about guns, but I don't think you can just casually fire a gun and hit somebody dead-center like that. I'll watch it again for the recap and maybe I'll see that she actually aimed properly, but I don't believe that's how it happened.

I think there were more stupids, but I've procrastinated long enough.

I flipped channels before they could show spoilers 'cause I can't keep my big mouth SHUT and getting tired of detention. :-)

Kirby..I, too, thought that Perla was talking to hidden Juan. No ice cream in the house, but I always put honey in my mint tea so that will be my soothing beverage .

Grace has gone off the deep end. I am anxious to see her struggling to contain the crazy.

Julie at that close range she might have been able to hit Perla..People are usually shaking or so discombobulated they can't hit anything.

I was hoping she would get home all wigged out and Dave confront her. Seeing the gun would have been perfect.

"Oh Daveeeed with Juan calling all the time I was afraid he might try to harm my faaaammmmiiiillllyyy so I got this cute little gun."

I know that Grace was all shook up and not thinking straight, but how did she come to the decision that killing Juan's girlfriend would stop him from revealing her secret? She hardly looks strong enough to even hold that gun let alone aim and shoot it. Guns are pretty heavy , and Grace has tiny little hands. Does she usually carry a gun ?

Oh, thank you, Susanlynn. There's another stupid right there. Grace walked into that place with no plan. (Guns do not count as plans.) I don't think that killing Perla was a decision... it was a panic reaction. It will definitely not pay the blackmail bill.

If Juan is smart (no promises), he will leave the phone on the bed with the body and take off. Instead, because he's greedy, I think he will try to blackmail Grace with this new improved evidence. Hilarity ensues.

Well NoJuan was royally pissed and hurt. He has shown himself to operare more by hurt, pain, emotion and revenge so he will personslly go after DisGlock.

Well, we know that Juan is also a person who is not known for his great decision making skills ,and we also know that he is not a fan of Grace. Now, she has pissed him off by killing his girlfriend. At this point, Juan has already slipped down a slippery slope and lost what appears to be the only human being in his warped life. Getting even with Grace now might supersede destroying Dave, but it will be two birds with one stone destroying Dave and Grace. ..and himself. Let the carnage begin. The only thing we don't know is the when and where of the big reveal. It is going to be messy.

Beats me how she deftly fired that GUN. And it looked like a 38, 9mm or even a 45. All huge heavy guns. When she first got it out it looked oversize in her little hands. When there is a mismatch like that they usually drop it from the kick when it fires.

But she pullled it off. Problem solved, right? Now she doesn't have a worry in the world.

Except double the problems she had to begin with. So double the cray cray?

OT that FYRE thing you mentioned was just on TMZ. Looked like the news from Syria.

Because I am about to fall unconscious (despite a 6 pm coffee which would normally keep me up all night), I am going to post a "short version" of the recap soon and do the full one tomorrow.

The only way Fyre could have been worse is if they'd scheduled it during hurricane season. They really should have. Then it would have been just perfect.

Julie: Thank you very much for the recap. I believed Juan & Perla got their sex escapade on in the bed hours earlier.

Kirby: Just as I also predicted earlier in the TN, Karma was going to strike Perla sooner or later.

Graciela whacking Perla was no shocker. Plus, let's be honest: Perla HAD IT COMING!

Susanlynn: Since Miguel & Carito are likely going to be endgame, we can anticipate Juan getting even by ruining Graciela's wedding to Diva David.

Thanks, Julie. I will be going out later so I may be catching the detailed version late tonight. I just rewatched the murder scene.

I don't know that this was a true panic reaction or not. Perla said several times that she didn't know what Juan was blackmailing DisGrace about, but I doubt DisGrace believed her. She tells so many lies about so many things that she fails to see honesty in others. When she shot Perla she had no emotion on her face and her panic was all about not getting caught.

Perla's cell phone was set up so that it would catch anything incriminating that DisGrace might say. Between scenes Perla and Juan probably tested it to find the right angle. The intent probably was to get her to say something incriminating in case Juan wanted to bleed her for more money in the future. What neither of them anticipated was that DisGrace would fly into such a rage.

And please, that gun wasn't so large; it fit easily in her handbag. It looks heavy, but DisGrace is anything but delicate. Some people here seem fooled by her pale complexion (as carefully and calculatingly guarded as Scarlett O'Hara's would have been) and the scared and helpless little girl act she pulls with David. She shot at very close range and the bullet had to have gone through Perla's body considering how she bled out. That gun is powerful for the caliber of its bullets.

So where did she get it and how long has she had it?

More in a little bit.

Wow! Thanks, Julie! Didn't check last night. Lemme get up and read this and join the convo! I admit, I cried. Juan's scene was postponed and gripping and for the first time here accepted responsibility and vowed to kill DG. Is that what they showed? Poor, dumb Perla! Free at least from maldito, obsessed noJuan!

Thanks, Julie. Back later!

Thank You Jewels: Up late? :-) Thank you for staying up with us for this pivotal episode.

!. What NoJuan SHOULD do is Dis-Appear. Leave. Another town another state or another country.
2. What he WILL do is stick around to finish David off and avenge his DisHrag Perla's murder.

So NoJuan: you ever heard that old adage about not missing the water till the well has run dry?

They really tried last night didn't they? I didn't cry. I've felt worse scraping a honeybee off my windshield.
To be carrying on this delicate little feminine thingy DisGlock is a pretty able scrapper. Perla was not a little thing, as I remember seeing her near Carito and she is a lot larger, and DisGolly was ON her, before she pulled out her piece.
The chick Olivia in LP last night had never even held a gun and she was up there emptying the clip when the bad guys showed up. They were moving and farther away, and she missed every shot.

What shocked me was that Juan actually cared about Perla. The scene where he discovered her body was probably what got the actor his trophy.

Dying like that, alone in a place she didn't want to be, is horrible. Many here have commented that most of the characters in this story either have no family in the traditional sense or their genetic families are partial or toxic:

-- Perla had no realtives and no real friends. When Carito realized what Juan and Perla were doing Perla lost her trust and her friendship with it.
-- Juan has no relatives. We only ever hear about his father, who committed suicide over his financial failure.
-- Miguel has no relatives in the vicinity, but seems to have come from a healthy family.
-- Sonia has no relatives we have ever seen; I don't recall her mentioning any deets about her family.
-- Susan has family, but they're in Canada.
-- Carito has relatives in Mexico.
-- Brian seemed to have had no relatives left by the time he was killed.
-- Adolfo and Ramon were abandoned by their wives and left to be single fathers (one child each).
-- Marta's family was broken up through deportation. She didn't get to raise her own daughter and she never again saw her husband (who had one cousin somewhere in Mexico).
-- David's wife was murdered in episode 4 by her own sister.

The following characters have never mentioned their families of origin:

Marta
Lillian
Cesar
Ramon

I know that it's a Televisa or TN convention that the older generation characters in a story usually are only children, but there seems to be a disproportionate number of them in this one. The message therefore should be that you can make your own family that isn't dependent on DNA.

Thank you Julie!

Finally, Soto brung it as a galan but for me the wrong girl. David has never shown Luciana the empathy or concern he did for Gracelia last night. It was sweet of him though.

I kinda feel like Perla. Jumped on a bus, occasionally thinking it might be headed the wrong way but blocking rational thought, remaining in the seat hours & hours of my life, only to bleed out scared and alone in a DisComfort Inn.

So, Miguel may be more prophetic than we thought when he declared to David and Luciana he would reclaim his female at the end and not need a club. Never mind Erika died a horrible death and David turned out to be a dildo.

I don't pay attention nor usually even stay in the room when Martrya comes on, so I missed her chat with Miggy last night.

Was she trying to encourage Miggy to try again with LuLu?

Julie, powerful and totally engrossing. Perfection.

"sometimes the sequel is better than the original" and "goes cuckoo without her Cocoa Puffs" were among too many excellent lines to note.

I was saddened by Perla's death. I believe last night was one of the few times we saw her softer side. Not scowling, defensive, mean spirited, but a young girl telling the man she has always looked up to, that she loves him. Sweetly and purely. No one deserves to be murdered. Ever. I hope she finds peace in heaven as I have no doubt that is her destination. Surliness does not deserve Hades.

I can't wait to read your translation of Juan and Perla's last conversation Julie. I don't know if he loved her, but his sweet expression (when have we ever been able to say that about Juan before this??) as he stroked her sleeping face touched me. His reaction at Perla's death was hard to watch. Kudos to both actors for these scenes.

"David confides to Lil that Grace hasn't been herself lately". Dawn over Marblehead (which being from MA I hope you will appreciate Julie) :) How observant he is. I do think he is feeling simply rather neglected as he isn't being "draped like a cape" (fabulous Susanlynn).

"He's got a rope". I'm sorry but the size of that rope made me smile. Perhaps such a gargantuan rope would be needed to tie up David, but not Lion Cub.

I believe Graciela didn't have a premeditated plan to kill anyone, but once she arrived, that changed. Had she walked in and shot her right away, infuriated by her being there instead of Juan? Yes, that would be a decision made in panicked fear. She is only hypnotized by fear as she sees her crazed obsession to be with David floating away, out of reach.

"DisGlock" - good one Kirby!

I agree and don't want the writers having Miguel going after Luci again. Steve, I agree that Carito and Miguel could very well be the endgame here. And, I am perfectly OK with that. The new and improved Carito is very sweet and I think loving and supportive will heal and help Miguel's spirit.

Julie, thank you!

Diana

"Martrya". HA!

Thank you for our daily dose of outstanding birds Kirby.

Diana

"David has never shown Luciana the empathy or concern he did for Gracelia last night".

No, he certainly hasn't tofie. Any galan gold (appeal) he had initially has tarnished.

I just want Graciela to be caught.

Diana

Kirby, I think that Marta was trying to pave that path. I don't see malicious intent in her but it was highly inappropriate for her to do this. Neither Miguel nor Luciana is ready for any new romance.

The new and improved Carito may have a good heart but she still lacks charisma. That is one quality that Erika and Luciana had in common and a quality that Miguel will need in a wife. I'm not sure if that is inborn or can be acquired.

As to David not showing empathy to Luciana? It's because she never tried to manipulate David by playing the helpless little girl. She has far too much pride to do that.

I'm actually of a mind to assume that Graciela had that gun--either a Beretta or Taurus 9mm, FWIW, or "every gun on TV ever during the 1980s"--to protect herself in case Juan flipped out on her, but with her having gone completely cuckoo sans Cocoa Puffs (good shot, Julie) she may well have decided she was going to threaten Juan with it to back off. That aside, major points to Show for surprising us like that with Perla's Karmageddon; as much as a lot of us were expecting it, it came out of nowhere.

Plot Phone II was a bigger surprise, though as noted it does highlight the stupid: assuming it was indeed Juan's idea to let Perla handle Graciela, not even counting the fact that he knew she was involved in one murder, how exactly was it supposed to work? Was Graciela supposed to just hand over the $1M in checks and bounce, on nothing more than Perla's word? And what does this mean for poor Plot Phone I? Where is it? Is Show conveniently ignoring it at this point, which would just figure?

And Christian de la Campa pretty much stole the show last night (considering this was the episode where Leon asked Sonia to tie him up, that's saying a lot), affirming directly that Juan really did love Perla in his cracked-out way...and, indirectly, that his not being nominated for a Premios TV y Novelas award for this continues to make no forking sense.

"Dying like that, alone in a place she didn't want to be, is horrible".

Urban, so true. I so appreciate your (always thoughtful) analysis. Here, the lack of family for these beloved (and not so) characters.

I keep forgetting that Ramon's wife left him. He and Adolfo are to me, two of the most endearing characters here. Sometimes the people who deserves happiness the most are the ones it eludes.

Thanks so much.

Diana
Diana

I apologize for yet another comment, but I had too busy a work week and wasn't able to participate much this week.

It is simply invigorating to have some events to comment on (other than Marta's shoes) and the episode, the recap and comments thus far have been great.

I saw a noticeable red flush on Kimberly's chest last night. It certainly looked real to me. The actress has really been incredible and has thrown herself into the role. It was as though she was actually feeling and experiencing everything her character was.

Again, her not being nominated was a sin.

Diana

Yep Diana, its for Kimberly I continued to watch. I'm in awe sometimes.

I meant to say in my comment above that the scene of Juan with the deceased Perla was prolonged and gripping. Silly phone.

Anyway, thank you, Julie, I didn't realize this was a quick summary and that you'll probably cover the death scene in more depth. What you did is thorough and riveting as it is.
Thank you!

I'll say it again. I cried. Diane, I agree with you: she didn't deserve to be murdered because she was love-blinded by Juan. She begged HIM not to meet with Gracie as she might have planned a trap for him. Perla was right and if Perla was blinded by love, he was blinded by his obsession with revenge on David. Who saw this and repeatedly told and begged Juan to give it up? Perla. As Julie will note, one of the things Juan did was wail to her body that it was HIS FAULT that Perla was killed. This is the first time he has EVER accepted responsibility for anything. He called himself and idiot and cried that they should have left like she pleaded with him. So anyway, in bed Perla begged him not to meet with her and so this played out as Urban described:

Perla's cell phone was set up so that it would catch anything incriminating that DisGrace might say. Between scenes Perla and Juan probably tested it to find the right angle. The intent probably was to get her to say something incriminating in case Juan wanted to bleed her for more money in the future. What neither of them anticipated was that DisGrace would fly into such a rage.

Surly, dumb, too-trusting? Maybe, Juan was her world, Juan is not only evil but an idiot and he left Perla to meet with a psychotic killer. I feel Perla will be forgiven for her blind naivete but Juan needs to burn in hell!

Thanks, Julie. Great title.

Surely Juan didn’t intend for Perla by herself to handle DisGrace, who killed her own sister. Could it be that DisGrace showed up earlier than expected?

I hope DisGrace goes down for first-degree murder. The rock was unplanned, but she took that gun with intention, probably to shoot Juan because certainly just waving a gun in his face wasn’t going to back him down permanently from extorting her.

They weren't the good guys, but Juan and Perla's coupledom was believable to me. I wasn't surprised last night that he was crushed by her death. I remember when Juan was so excited to stick it to David at that fancy charity event he threw for the immigrants, but Perla was depressed about his whole mess and said she wasn’t going. Juan looked hurt his girl wouldn't share his triumph with him and pleaded with her to come. That was the first time she really put her foot down, almost. Because as usual he persuaded her to go along. I was hoping Perla wound up repentant and in prison, not dead. She wasn't evil, just stupidly stuck on Juan.

On the gun, my guess is DisGrace already owned it. According to the web, California has a 10-day wait period.

Not interested in the least seeing screen time wasted with Miguel aiming for Luciana again. If the writers go this route, it would only be to make David jealous. But with the wedding of the century about to be interrupted by Juan as The Joker, who cares?

Diana, girl, please do not apologize for commenting! Bring it on! It IS good to have something to actually talk about with this smart, razor-sharp-witted, fun Patio. Your voice of kind reason is wonderfully appreciated and I am also glad to have something to do other than drag Marta around. I'm even going to skip her little talk with Miguel today.

After your observations on the murder scene, I think I will rewatch it, too! K2R has been exquisite in this novela! Although we all have mocked how she has manipulated and hypnotized DUMB DAVE, she looked the part, her eyes, her facial expressions, her demeanor, everything. Go back and look at that scene when she was on the bed and he called her several times and she didn't hear him. Look at how she's acting, avoiding his gaze, babbling almost aimlessly. Her calm, mesmerizing gaze and the fluttering butterfly caresses of her little hands are gone, replaced by aimless shuffling of papers. Totally believable. When Dave heard it was Juan on the line, her face was frozen but she recovered quickly and played helpless victim of Juan, which was partially true. K2R killed it!

I honestly think DisGrace intended to kill Juan when she packed that pistol. He is the only person who can out her as Lisa's killer even if there is no evidence on Lisa's cell phone: He can display the recording of her shooting Perla at close range and the crazy that ensues from her reaction will open the door to him ratting her out as Lisa's killer.

Showing that she killed Perla will add credibility to the revelation about Lisa.

Thanks!

Yep, Juan should leave town immediately. But we know he won't.

Urban: "The scene where he discovered her body was probably what got the actor his trophy." No trophy. He wasn't even nominated! That's what was so annoying about Gut winning. Ditto KDR not getting nominated.

"The message therefore should be that you can make your own family that isn't dependent on DNA." Yes. Sometimes you have to. The message of this story must be that some people just can't do it. Or the family you make can be just as toxic as the one you started with.

I agree that Carito lacks the zazz, the energy, the drive of Erika and Luciana. She just doesn't seem right for Miguel to me.

Kirby, I will know more when I finish the recap, obviously, but Marta seemed to be telling Mig that if he wants Luci, to proceed with caution for his own sake as well as his own. Sort of like a "go for it, but not right now." His face was difficult to read.

Juan did love Perla. I still think he loved her more the way one loves a pet or a prized object, and I doubt if he would have chosen to take the bullet for her, but the loss really did hurt him.

"Dawn breaks over Marblehead"? LOL, Diana, I never heard that one before. That's hysterical! Don't apologize for your multiple comments. They are like bacon-wrapped scallops to me.

My assumption was that Grace planned to shoot Juan ASAP, because she had no intention of paying him anything. The gun could be David's own, which we saw in an early episode when he threatened to shoot himself. No waiting period needed for that.

Another ton of dumbness: shots fired indoors, and no one comes running or calls the police?

Niecie, can they get DG on murder 1 if she wasn't even expecting to see Perla?

I will finish now. It will be a while.

Oh yes, she did, Urban. She said so in the scene in which she first brandished it back at her house. She said nothing and no one would stop her from getting what she wanted. . .or words to that effect. Yeah, she intended to kill Juan and that's why she panicked when she saw Perla and not Juan. Her plan was falling apart. I think she did panic for a bit but then the cold blood kicked in when she saw Perla was not going to let her leave the room: whether Perla knew why she was being blackmailed or not, DG had to get out of there. I think Perla's telling Grace that she (DG) had no idea what she, Perla, was capable of for Juan, it must have triggered DG's similar thought about Dave and she called Perla's bluff with a bullet.

In the conversation with her Mom after Juan's call and the exchange with David, crazy-eyed Grace was beginning to lose it when she told her mom that things would have been so much easier if Dave had married HER instead of Lisa. Lil told her, "but you've won, you WON David now, my love." DG replied, "But look at everything I've had to do to get him!" Of course, Lil didn't know what she was talking about, DG got angry, telling Lil she didn't know anything and she threw her out of the room.

DG panics but she either gets back in control with her false facade or she kicks into cold-blooded killer mode like she did with Lisa.

Damn. Damn good episode! Lil, Grace, Juan, Perla. . .the actors killed it!

Diana..I always feel better after reading your comments. You should be a counselor. Also, would be great at eulogies because you always seem to look for the good in people .

Tofie..you so funny .

I would prefer that Lu end up with Miguel instead of Dave who at this point needs a skycap to help Carry all his baggage....a dead wife, an awful motherinlaw, needy children, a sworn, crazy , vengeful enemy, a failing vineyard,a scheming sisterkilling lover. Dave has suitcases, trunks, totebags, backpacks. However, I guess Lu has to pick up the pieces when the rocking is revealed. Poor Lu.

I grew up in an area where everyone hunted. I learned how to shoot a rifle when I was sixteen, and there is a big kickback especially for a small person. I have known several people who carried guns. One was my friend's husband who was a cop. When we all went to a wedding about three hours away together, he put the gun in the glove compartment of our car. Hubba used to go to conferences with someone who was in the reserves , and that guy always carried a gun when he traveled. I had a friend who was very petite and had a congenital hip problem. She carried a gun in her purse to protect herself.Perhaps it is not unusual for women to carry guns in their purses for protection in Mexico.

Whew !

The times in these episodes always mess me up.. I somehow saw it being at night when DisGlock killed Perla. I don't know why, It just seemed like their meeting was going to be that night. Then David and Lillian were concerned that it was late and DisBang! was not home yet, so I tried to look at the windows/doors and there was a french door in the background with Dave and Lil and the diffused sunlight coming through looked like midafternoon.

As the ep ended, DisGoodAim had not arrived back home yet, and it should be a Die'n-O-Might episode when she comes back to face a worried, smothering, inquisitive faaaaamiiiilyyyy. Where was she supposed to be in the first place in that little ez-open ZipLoc red dress?

I've noticed that it always looks like midafternoon out the windows of the employee kitchen, even in the dead of night.

OK Thanks. I had not discovered that.

Julie...I am getting freaked out!!!!! Last night, Hubba and I went to our favorite restaurant for my birthday , and we had our fav appetizer . wait for it....BACON WRAPPED SCALLOPS!!! Yikes, how odd. What are the chances? Yet another weird, uncanny, mindmelding connection. Did the Vikings get to France?

Happy Birthday, SusanLynn.

As to your Viking question, yes, they did.

Yes, this production team isn't doing a good job on the day-for-night stuff.

Happy birthday, Susanlynn!

You want another coinkydink? Guess what Marta put in Luci's coffee? HONEY!

#OHCRAP Did Marta see all that other stuff I wrote about HER? :-)
Where did you see that?

With all the Ice Cream these Einsteins have me eating I have to cut back on refined sugar somewhere.

Julie..I forgot to try the honey in my coffee this morning, but I always use it in my tea. Six degrees of separation, perhaps. If we go back far enough in history, we are all related.

Watching "Reign" on the CW...so bad it's good....just like VEA.

Urban..those crazy wild Viking genes traveled all over the place.

Happy Birthday, Susanlynn!

Birthday Sue? Happy Birthday, remember you are not actually getting older, just better.

Okay, recap is done. There were a few things I didn't catch the first time around, like Ramon wanting to ask Marta to live with him.

So it looks like Miguel is planning to make another play for Luciana. That just seems weird to me.

Juan and Grace both gave award-worthy performances in this episode. (Though KDR might still have been defeated by Angelique Boyer.) I am flabbergasted that they were both snubbed at the premios. I mean, not really, because there's injustice at the premios every year. But I don't understand it.

KDR is originally from Telemundo, as is CdlC. They were together in Tierra de Reyes. I think this is both their firsts for Televisa.

The problem with the Premios is that Televisa owns the magazine, so all Televisa's stars are heavily favored.

Julie, great job. I appreciate all the details. I must've been zoned out last night because I didn't pick up then why the focus on the laundry. I thought the cameraperson was out to lunch. Perla carefully positions something in a pile of laundry. Not knowing what it is when I first see it, I wonder if it's a pet rock, because she speaks to it: "Everything will go just fine, my love.

Ugh, so Miguel really is planning to move on Luciana. I hope Lu sticks to her guns this time and tells him that's not happening. I like Miguel, but I'd rather see her walk off alone than settle for him.

Julie..thank you for a delicious recap. That conversation between Lilian and Discontented was very telling. She is on the brink and actually letting some truth trickle out of that little crimson mouth. Watching Gracie unravel is awesome. I actually think that she could give Angelique a run for the money, and Angie is excellent at playing the bad girl.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes. I am looking at five bouquets of flowers on my dining room table. ..two of red roses , one of white roses , and one of white tulips.

Kirby, I always remember a conversation with a sixteen year old student when I was a 26 yearold teacher. He asked how I was doing one day, and I said "Getting older" to which he replied, "Consider the alternative." Thanks you, Scotty, wherever you are now.

And how awesome is it that Graciela is unraveling just when she's about to get what she wanted. Perfect timing! That's going to be some wedding.

Thanks for the explanation, Urban - I didn't realize they had both come from Telemundo.

Thank you, Julie! The detailed recap is very rich with valuable details! Wow! I don't care about Miguel or Ramon and you know who or Sonia and Cub or anyone else. Gracie unraveling is riveting! Looks like Dumbo had a couple of brain cells accidentally touch and he noticed that Grace was frazzled. All of you who say he never showed Luci the tenderness and concern he showed Grace before she went out on her hit are absolutely right. I know he and Luci are going to get together in the end, I've accepted that so the hookups at the end don't matter. I just want to see how this Deception plays out and see Dud, Fur and Boob's reaction. I wonder whether it will be before or after the wedding. I don't see how a wedding can go forward at this point unless Juan decides that's the best way to fulfill his promise of showing up when Dud least expects it.

What will he do with that killer footage? There's NO WAY this show can't be good in it's final week! Bout time!

Thank you, again, Julie!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DEAR SUSANLYNN!

Just read it, Julie, and thanks for a job well done.

Juan's reaction to Perla's death makes me wonder whether he will commit suicide at the end. She was the only person in the world who cared about him after he had made so many enemies all in the name of getting revenge on someone who doesn't deserve his hatred or betrayal.

At any rate, I don't want him to kill DisGrace because she deserves to be in prison as in Life Without Parole.

BTW, can someone confirm the finale date?

Exactly urban. These chicken shoot writers better not just start killing people off. That is cheating. We want some anguish pain and suffering

Thank you, Lila.😊

Hey, new idea for an ending. Juan takes a leaf from Disgruntled 's playbook and oh so patiently waits for the boda. As Grace and Dave are sauntering up the aisle after the I dos , Juan walks in, spills the news , and pulls a gun. However, you know those frilly garters that brides wear . Well, Grace has one on (crimson red) holding a tiny derringer , so it is gunfight at the OK Corral right there in the church. Even though Lilian is shocked to hear that Grace killed Lisa, she throws herself in front of Grace. Shots ring out . The screen goes black. Then, we see all three , Disabled, Juan, and Lilian dead 😧😤😣

Ha! That's pretty good, Susanlynn but I agree with Urban: I want folks alive so they can KNOW they're in a WORLD OF PAIN. That said, I think Juan will get to do the ultimate wedding (or reception) crash, maybe pull a gun on DisGuiltyas-sin (or DisGuiltyassassin) and then he will suceed in committing suicide by Police. That's assuming Dumbo has enough sense to have Police guards at his wedding in light of the Juan-induced mayhem and the soon to be discovered slaughter of Perla.

How in the heck is that bloody scene going to be discovered? What will happen to the bloody cell phone of doom?

Hey! You know how you can "cast" your phone onto tvs or other devices and screens. Maybe DisGonnamarrycomehellorhighwater will have a screen for a multimedia display of her and (Lisa-less)David back in the day, romping and frolicking, their "success" at Vine El Disaster, her artwork and suddenly the footage of DischargingaGun nailing Perla in the gut is broadcast across the huge screen.....Memorable wedding presentation!

They send someJuan in every day to clean the room.

I just know I want MAYHEM. ANARCHY, MADNESS, MAIMING, DISFIGUREMENT, BLOOD,CRYING.

I want FurBrat chasing DisGotItComing around with a machete. I want Boob taking a crap on the cake.

I want LuLu and Snoozan popping champagne.

Right, Kirb! Will Juan get out of there first or is someone on the way that heard the shot? That should've already happened.

Oh well, y'all have fun. Off to a social event with my faaaaamily!

HAPPY☆BIRTHDAY☆SUSANLYNN!!!!

Thank you Julie for this fantastic recap job! I started laughing at the beginning when you said: "(Do a lot of reputable businesses like to show up as "UNKNOWN" on caller ID? I doubt it. UNKNOWN means Rachel from Card Services, or one of her friends. If it's important, they leave a message!)"

I also laughed at this: "Ramon tells Leon that he misses Marta. He asks if it would be okay with Leon if he formally proposes to Marta that they get... cohabitated." The writers seem so anti-marriage.

I am wondering why Juan decided to leave Perla alone to face DisGrace. If he knew that DisGrace had killed once, he should have suspected that she would do it again.

I wonder why no one heard the gunshot in the hotel? If I were in the same section, I would have have heard it. Guns are LOUD! Poor Perla. She picked the wrong guy and he left her in the wrong place at the wrong time. She did not deserve to die.

I wonder what the objective of having all those clothes strewn around the room was for. Was it to "hide" the phone doing the video? I wonder if Perla was supposed to trick DisGrace into admitting how she murdered Lisa? If that were the case, then leaving it up to Perla (who wasn't too sharp to begin with) was a big mistake.

Now I can see Juan coming back with a huge vengeance against DisGrace. Now this I fear will become bigger than getting even with David. DisGrace just murdered the only person in the world who loved him.

I am waiting to see Juan, DisGrace, and Lil apprehended by the police. I would love to see DisGrace and her toxic mother "styling" in orange jumpsuits.

Lila I love that idea about "cast" the

Nina Carla Morrison. Great Great voice. Yeah they just started using her lately for the emotional scenes.

The biggest sad coming will be Bobby's when he realizes Cristiano ain't coming. The place can be in flames and he won't know.

Thanks for the recap Julie.

Happy birthday Susanlynn.

Julie, the second verse was as sweet as the first.

The screen shirts were also amazing and were the perfect compliment to your excellent recap.

From earlier: "wonder if it's a pet rock, because she speaks to it: "Everything will go just fine, my love". Love it. Hmmmm, either that or THE Ring? (LOTR)...

Ahhh, so Graciela DID go there to kill Juan. Thank you Julie and Lila. Now her complete bewilderment that he wasn't there makes sense. Juan realized too late what he lost. How sad that he didn't tell Perla he loved her. One of our biggest regrets is often the words our heart wants us to say, but go unuttered.

Marta "helpfully" tells her to be happy. It's just a question of deciding to. (Grrrrr") Oh Julie, I am eye rolling myself. Shut. Up. Marta.

"Maybe she should offer Cocoa Puffs for the cuckoo" and "yadda yadda twirly eyes..." were more great lines.

"Miguel takes her hand, says he'll be patient, and will show Luciana that she can be happy again". Oh Miguel, please give up. You've been left twice. The first by choice. The second by death. Take time and heal. You have a wonderful friend in Luciana. You deserve the same passion you offer, and she is not the woman to give it to you.

The timeline of Juan's activities is still puzzling me. He didn't come charging into the room to see what happened, he returned with the rose. Was the time they were supposed to meet unclear? Given his reaction to Perla's death, I don't think he remotely considered the possibility she might get hurt. Was Graciela early? Have I totally misconstrued this? I've been wrong in just about everything since this started, so I will just tally another miss in my tally.

Happy, happy birthday Susanlynn!!

Julie, you are a jewel.

Diana

Lila, you're doing an admirable job keeping mum about you-know-who.

Urban, yes, I thought Juan seemed potentially suicidal - or at least momentarily derailed. He wasn't talking about David any more. He wanted Grace. But if that doesn't work out, I don't think he'll have the patience to go on with anything any more.

Wedding: I want Blood, Devastation, Death, War and Horror. I'll consider the pantomime horses a bonus.

Nina, the beach sounds good. Too windy here, it would have been cold. I took a nap. I'm so tired on weekends.

Cynthia: I think Juan left Perla there alone because he figured Grace would try something with him, but would leave Perla alone. In fact, maybe that was even Perla's idea. As for hearing the gunshots, all I can guess is that it was daytime and everyone was out doing tourist stuff. Or it's hosting a special convention for the deaf.

The mounds of laundry must have been to better hide the phone. One heap of laundry looks suspicious. A bunch of them doesn't look like anything. It was just so weird watching Juan make a mess. He likes things to be neat.

There's going to be another Fyre Festival next year. I can't wait. Do they have a plan for controlling the weather?

It's Susanlynn's birthday? HAPPY BIRTHDAY Susanlynn and may you have many, many happy, healthy, and fulfilling years ahead of you.

Urban, according to Univision's website, the final date for Vino is May 8th.

Diana, when Juan and Perla talked just before he left, they intended for her to meet Grace alone. So I expect he went out to kill time or do errands, maybe feed the ducks or wear flowers in his hair, and expected Grace to be gone and Perla to have the money by the time he came back.

Thanks Julie.

So, she did show up on time. I still think though the fact that he showed up with the rose was proof positive he never dreamed Gracie would hurt Perla. Now, seeing Juan with flowers in his hair would be something I'd love to see! I fear that the only flowers in Juan's future are the ones he'll be "pushing up" - daisies. Sigh.

Diana

Whoa!...is it sweet, sassy Susanlynn's birthday!? Stop the presses. Sounds like it was a great one, filled with bouquets, dinner out with the handsome hub and afterwards, well there we draw a veil. I'm sure you're not only getting better, as Kirby says, but even more beautiful as well.

Haven't watched a minute of this show but sometimes stop to read the comments because y'all are right entertaining.

Have a good weekend Patio Pals.

I think Juan was expecting Grace to just hand the money over without incident, because that's how it worked before.

Hey Judy!!

Aww, Susanlynn, happy birthday. Hopefully you're being properly treated like a Sonia today...or at least like a Fernanda...but definitely, absolutely, not like a Luciana.

Nina..Henry Cavil is probably one of the most handsome men I have ever seen. Man of steel, indeed. Did you see him in The Tudors ?

As for Grace's ending, she is becoming so unhinged that she may die happy if she manages to actual get through the marriage ceremony and finally land Moby Dave. If that happens, she will probably have to die immediately because it would be nessy for Dave to have to get a divorce and marry Lu if Grace is in prison or a mental facility.

Grace might as well drop dead after she marries Dave, since her entire life has been building up to the moment she marries him. I doubt she has anything planned for afterwards except a nice dinner and the honeymoon.

But I would prefer that they don't quite get married, and she gets carted away to the laughing academy.

It would be super-cynical if the only wedding in this entire TN was that of David and Grace.

If Juan stops the ceremony before Grace officially gets her man, do you think both Juan and Grace will survive and go to jail? My guess is that Juan would get killed , and Grace would go to jail or a mental facility. I have no guess as to what will happen to Lilian. Aldofo no longer seems smitten with her , so no reward of a nice man and a successful vineyard for her. She might be so shocked by the news that she will keel right over and join her two hombres in the great beyond. This will make you-know-who mad.

Great recap, Julie. I cracked up at the statements about DisGrace maybe needing deodorant and Cocoa puffs...among others.

"Erika Buenfil y Adrián Di Monte encenderán la pantalla con el amor prohibido que vivirán en ‘La doble vida de Estela Carrillo’, no te pierdas el estreno este 8 de mayo a las 9PM/8C por Univision."

"Gabriel Soto, Irina Baeva, Kimber dos Ramos, Sofía Castro y más actores nos han deleitado en 'Vino el amor'. Conoce algunas curiosidades de ellos y síguelos en el gran final este 8 de mayo por Univision."

Juan is so miserable now, I almost don't want him to get killed, but I think he'll get over it. I would like both Juan and Grace to get killed after a brief but miserable stint in prison.

If Lilian doesn't end up in jail, she will have to get a job to support herself. Good luck with that, considering she was in on Juan's embezzlement and fraud. Having a crime like that in her background might limit her employment choices, even if she gets a suspended sentence or other plea deal and doesn't have to do time. Bitchery isn't really a marketable skill, so she could end up mopping floors.

RC! THANK YOU for looking on Uni's site. It hadn't occurred to me that they'd change the time. Of course they might. All options are open. They really seem to hate to let their viewers know when things will be on. Kind of a key requirement, isn't it?

So we still don't know EXACTLY when it will be on... sigh...

Isn't there some insect which dies immediately after mating? Then there has to be one where it and it's Mom dies too ?

Well DisGrace can be one of those.

OK slow night.

Honey in your coffee? These guys are in decline so I sometimes feed them when food is scarce.

Susanlynn, I didn't See tuders when they were on, but later I caught a few
Snipets Here and there.I think they're
Showing reruns on stars/encore.Atleast
They did last year.Henry looks good in everything.

I love bees! (except hornets, ouch)

Kirby..I have come to think that you are quite a fascinating person . It is always interesting getting to know people here on the patio.

Nina, Henry also had a small part in the movie "Tristan and Isolde." It is a very romantic legend .

Right now, I an reading and listening to the Bee Gees on PBS.

Are you guys going to watch "Double Life."

We once had bees try to start a beehive in our utility room window.

Thanks. I just try to fit in with all the other creatures here on our rock.

Domestic bees are cool. Contrary to popular belief, they will not sting except in dire emergencies.
And it is fatal to the bee.

I have picked up many ones who found themselves away from their hive on a cool night and warmed it in my hand.
With some warmth and a snack it usually recovers and goes home. I always have some HONEY.! :-)

Sheezo I hope someJuan is still awake.
I Juander how long before NoJuan will contact DisGotcha! with a COPY of her latest video.
He should do it as soon as possible, just make sure he has his ducks in a row (bulletproof VESTS) before he sends her into hyper Crazo-Drive. She needs to know as soon as possible so she can incorporate the latest status into her wedding plans.

Oooo Oooo Oooo, maybe send it to Dave first. Let him share that touching documentary with his Luuuurvely wife to be.

No No No, wait, let me think. Maybe Lillian. Yeah, Lil would be fun to see watching that. "Who'se yore Fav NOW ?"

Yep Lil, then a short time later, Dave, then DisGone!. Final Answer.

OK, so about the guns. Many years ago, on a date, I fired a 22 and a 38. (Not at my date; at a firing range.) The 22 wasn't a problem, but the kick on the 38 was a bit much for just farting around. If I'd had a reason to get comfortable with it, I certainly could have; but I didn't. So. Unless Grace is playing with guns a lot more than we know about, the kick from that gun should have punched her in the stomach. But okay, it's TV.

I like honey in my tea, so I keep honey in my desk. But then I never have tea, only coffee. So... so I was prepared for the best of both worlds when the subject came up on Friday. Let's sue Marta for stealing ideas from the Patio (never mind this episode was produced months ago).

I'm irritated by Mig's continued romantic interest in Luciana. If she responds with anything less than enthusiasm, he should back off, count his blessings for a friend like her, and find another woman - because we know he can. (Preferably one who isn't insecure and possessive.) He was happy with Erika. He can be happy with someone else. It might be the only way he can have Luci around for the rest of his life.

I don't know if David can be happy with anyone else, and I don't care. I don't want to see Miguel hurt, I don't want to see Luci with David, and I don't really want to see Luci with Mig either... nor Mig with Carito... so I'm having a hard time seeing a happy ending.

It turns out that the specifics of murder 1 vs murder 2 vary from state to state, so I don't know if Perla's murder qualifies in CA. (Lisa's definitely doesn't.) What this means for Grace, I don't know, as I still think she's more likely to be killed regardless, despite my preference that she be caught.

If I were Juan, I would plant a time bomb at the wedding venue and then go far away. But he won't.

Also: there are certain things I'm not talking about, because I saw the avances.

It hurts, but I will wait.

I saw that movie, mostly because henry was in it. And he got killed.Bummer:(

I like honey with peanutbutter&banana ON Wheat bread.
I'm lookin forward to "double life". I saw the preview. If was good.

This is a slow night, we've gone from juan and his troubles to honey to insects,to Henry cavill and superman, PBS,HBO,THE BEEGEES. It's amazing how
Much we got in common. But after all we've Talked about, the bees and honey have it. Let's hear it for the
H O N E Y! :)

That a girl juls hang in there. 2 more
Days then you can let her rip:)

NiNa, but I got Pictures. (Of Honey Makers)

Nite

Hey Julie. And of course Susanlynn and Diana. Can't speak for Carlos, Susanlynn, but I sure do miss his insightful comments and those hilarious recaps. Also miss our clever NovelaMaven and a host of others. But things change.

Glad this novela is finally becoming interesting and a long slow period of utter boredom; I may tune in just to see Grace get her just desserts!

Good morning Judy!

So wonderful to read your post. You have been (are) truly missed.

I had to smile that you were able to perfectly encapsulate what this has been until now - "a long slow period of utter boredom".

After moving at a snail's pace lo these many months - we finally have some action!

Had you been watching, I think you would have been as dismayed as most of us are, that there has been a lack of romance between our two leads, impaired further by the lack of chemistry and cringe worthy writing.

Diana

Good morning, Vino Patio Peeps! Wassuuuuup? I am, that's what! Slept in after a lovely social event last night with my faaaaaamily! OK, Kirb, I'll have some cool ranch Doritos cause this is OT: It was a dance recital in which a beloved sister-in-love and her daughter, granddaughter and great granddaughter all danced a number together. It was so beautiful! The great granddaughter was in a little ballet number earlier with about 12 other two to three year olds. She was easy to pick out from the precious assembly of tiny tutus: she didn't move a muscle while the other darlings flitted around her! She just stood there, frozen, looking stage left where Mommy was surley trying to egg her on to do something! That's ok, she looked like a perfect little doll!

Hi, JudyB! Please watch the end of this with us! If you know Gracie deserves a Mac truck, that's all you need to know! Not only have we suffered the frustrations Diana described above but I was one of maybe several that want the "galan" to get an anvil, too! I think GS was tired after YNCELH and just wanted a paycheck role. Whatever! But the month of May is the perfect time for this ending because we want MAYHEM!!!!!

Julie, Spectacular recap, complete with dewy eyes, twirly eyes, blinking eyes, darting eyes, caressed gun, blood red outfit to match the blood red pool, a blood red rose, weeping and swearing, brown Cocoa Puffs, but no peanut butter, banana or honey on Whole Wheat.

Susanlynn: Looks like a missed opportunity to wish you a Very Happy Birthday. How nice that you had someone special to celebrate with. Hope my best wishes are only a day late but not a dollar short.

JudyB--How nice of you to stop in. This is one tn where your good counsel was needed on the so-called writers of this schlock. David would have been a perfect subject for you to take apart--and perhaps put back together. We fear for the happy ending what with all the baggage this dude is going to have to carry for the rest of his life.

Kirby--to tell the truth, I thought your new avatar was an aircraft carrier with planes and a conflagration just off to the side. Good thing I read the comments and looked at the photo enlarged. Wow. How close up were you or is that the camera that does it or you? P.S. I've been watching our DC Bald Eagle cam. The returning pair are raising 2 new babies in a tree in the National Arboretum.

Diana--You always bring sense and sensibility to our discussions. While I was on brain freeze, you were delivering another one of your lovely essays.

Good Morning, Sunshines!!
Here’s what I would luuuuve to see on the last days of VEA …
• Adolfo, Mig, and Luci meet with the very successful bro-and-sis team owners of the restaurants in Spain that will be purchasing the Frontera wine. The bro/sis team happen to have a very available and noble Mom who also attends the meeting. Viewerville sees the intense chemistry between the 3 pairs…

• Wedding day at a church that is technically up-to-date and uses screens to lead the people: Dudvid and Disgrace at the alter---priest is at the part where he asks if there is anyone who knows why these 2 should not marry, yada-yada… (Lila, luved ur idea so I’m borrowing it)—The big screens come on with “Dud-vid, you are a stupid idiot—you are marrying an assassin”…and the video of Perla’s demise plays.

•The video ends and a screenshot of Lisa’s phone comes up with text messages proving that DisGrace was the last one to see Lisa (at the river). Viewerville hears NoJuan’s unforgettable maniacle laugh (softly at first then louder as the camera turns to him up on the balcony). He starts his attack on David, telling him that, not only did DisGrace murder his loyal and loving Perla, but also his (Dudvid’s) wife!!! He goes on to tell him that he will suffer the rest of his life knowing that he allowed himself to be lied to and manipulated by 2 two-faced, lazy ass, back stabbers (2FLABS). He continues to tell him about all the lies, fraud and everything else the two 2FLABS helped him with. He finally ends by telling David that he has committed a lot of crimes, but he will not suffer in jail. He puts a gun to his head and kills himself.

• Dudvid turns to DisGrace and she starts to ramble with desperation and twirling eyes that she did it all for him...she had to eliminate Lisa because she luuuuved him soooo much. As she is going on with her rambling, Viewerville sees to PO-lice walking up the aisle (because NoJuan, with great timing, sent the video and all the evidence to them). The police get to DisGrace, but she struggles, runs backward and trips over the candles…her dress catches on FIRE!!! …and she ends up like Barbara/Rebeca on MEPS!!!

• Ferbrat goes berserk and has to be sedated and taken to a psycho hospital…

One year later…

• Lillian is in jail for fraud.
• Tano and Carito (as a couple, cuz Tano saw no future with Ferbrat) go see Ferbrat at the hospital from which she is being dismissed.
• Dudvid is alone and suffering the fate of his idiocy. He is still running his vineyard with Booby helping out. They await Ferbrat who also will be working at the vineyard.
• Cesar and Soosan married sometime back.
• Since Ramon deserves to be happy, he can have what he has always wanted…Marta…uugghh.
• Sonia has a book signing at LionCubs restaurant.
• DOUBLE WEDDING for Luci/Spain Bro and Migs/Spain Sis. Adolfo and Spain Mom holding hands.
• …and Boobee…since Spain bro is a close friend to Cristiano..finally gets to meet his
idol.

If the writers could come up with something close to this, I would be happy :-)

RC

So I guess that the finale will be on Friday the 5th. I still want to write an alternate ending if anyone wants to read it.

RC! I LOVE IT! And not because you used my streaming of the Cell Phone of Death II footage (thank you!). I love the alternate pairing but more than that I love how noJuanF*swith me crashed the wedding! Yes, it will be excruciating for Dudveed, Furbrain and the Boob but their dud of a dad set them up for that. Furbrain gets some much-needed (authentic) psychiatric care and maybe somewhere in that process it is revealed that Evil Martin Mull was a defrocked doc and mind-effed Dud, further adding to HIS anguish! I love the Spain couples and all the other hookups you made.

If I don't like the ending, I'm going to come back, re-read this and let it play out in my mind. Also love DisconflaGration's end! MUWAHHHAHAHAHA!

Ooops. I wasn't ready for that to post yet. Thanks again, RC!

Julie and Urban Did you guys also have alternate endings for us?

Sorry Urban! Didn't see your post. I would love to see your alternate ending! Could we have a whole post of alternate endings which includes RC's above and others?

I was pretty close, inches. The local bees and I seem to have an unspoken understaning.

You don't sting me and I will continue to provuie natural sugar cut with water in my opened milkshake straws.

Oooh! I like Grace's dress on fire, RC. Close as we'll get to seeing her pants on fire. And Boobee meeting Cristiano! Brilliant!

Urban, I still want to read your alternate ending - but why do you think the fin will be on the 5th? RC said the univision website still says the 8th. (I know they also have Doble Vida starting on the 8th at 9, so one of them is wrong - but I won't assume that it's one or the other.)

I don't think I have an alternate ending - but I might feel differently after I see the real one. The evil space robots, kaiju, and/or killer bees are waiting in the wings.

Gosh! I hope the don't cram/smash/slice/dice the two-hour finale into one hour on the 5th! Maybe I shouldn't even give that power by speaking it! If it IS the fifth, hopefully it will be a full two hours!

Lila, thank you for sharing your lovely evening with us. "perfect little doll!" was so sweet. How wonderful you were all able to share such a fun and memorable evening together.

RC, thoroughly enjoyed your post! "Sonia has a book signing at LionCubs restaurant" made me smile.

Urban, yes, would love to read your alternate ending! I have no doubt it will be great!

Anita, I was thinking about your comment and hadn't considered the emotional scars David will have ere this is over. I'm not sure how he can ever forgive himself for his gullibility and very bad decisions. I am so disappointed in him but perhaps that will turn into pity when his world comes crashing down. He has made many, many mistakes but he will never be able to purge them from his mind.

Kirby, your attitude toward and nurturing of bees is admirable. I know they are dying at an alarming rate.

Diana

Thank you to all...I really enjoy reading the recaps and everyone's comments as well. You all are so insightful and your snark matches no other. You all inspire me :-)

RC

That's great, RC! I love this blog and the people who hang out here. I don't do facebook or twitter or other stuff and find this a fun way to keep my Spanish brushed up and surround myself, if only for a few minutes a day, with some really smart and cool people. I'm going to miss Caray because I'm afraid none of the upcoming offerings interest me. There are many stalwart, faithful souls who keep this blog going -- I shan't name names for fear of leaving someone out and I'm sure I don't know them all -- so I feel confident that I can check back every few weeks to see if new shows are coming up so I can hang out on the patio again!

I guess I should go do some stuff. See y'all!

Wow..finally here to check on new comments.

Judyb..I hope you will be with us for the final roundup.

RC..your suggested ending sounds pretty satisfying.

Miguel should try to watch the SNL segment about guys in the "friend zone" and why they are there. Maybe it is on YouTube. You know, those guys who are your bff , but they always hope for more.....Miguel.

Lila...you are wide awake this morning. I looove tiny tutus and have seen many...always adorable. Glad that you were able to enjoy some fammiillyyytime after a long week.

Lila..yeah, I don't do Facebook or those other things either even though my friends and kids mock me about it . I have "met" a lot of nice people on the patio over the years. I plan to watch "Double Life" because I know and like a lot of the actors and actresses.

No facebook here, either. I tried it for a while, but it was annoying and unsatisfying, so I dropped it. I'm not sure what I'll watch when this TN is done. If none of the current TNs grab my attention, maybe I"ll catch up on my many unwatched DVDs and Hulu for a while. But then I'll miss the patio. :-(

Just checked this week's TV listing, and it shows only one hour for VEA on Friday May 5.

I just checked the length of the Mexican version of #141 (the fin) and it's 1:35 without commercials - which means two hours.

So, three likely possibilities:

1. They condense it to one hour and show it Friday night
2. They show both hours on Friday night
3. The show half on Friday and half on Monday, either at 8 (so Doble Vida starts at 9) or at 9 as usual (so the website is wrong, and Doble Vida starts the next day.
4. (because I can't count) Univision does something spectacularly out-of-the-box.

And... I'm in for Doble Vida. I just reviewed Stevey's post about upcoming TNs and I'll give it a chance. Maybe even take Monday nights for recapping. But I reserve the right to ditch it if it's a stinker.

Oops, didn't see Susanlynn's comment - one hour Friday night. That knocks out #2, IF the listings are correct.

I am really hoping everyone stays for Doble Vida. I am really looking forward to seeing Africa as a villain. Delighted you are on board Susanlynn and Julie among others. Lila, I hope you will consider watching the first one or two episodes before you decide...

No facebook, twitter for me. But I also still have a flip phone so...:)

Diana

I am glad that some of you guys are going to try Double. I only watch one telenovela at a time, and the 9pm hour us good for me.

Of..Julie...I just turned on murder She Wrote and Adrian Paul (Duncan MacCleod) is in it as a ballet dancer!

Oooooh, is he wearing tights?

Yes..and ...very young...and guilty as sin.

OT..Julie have you ever driven up to Maine? Have you crossed into Canada? We are planning a trip in June and have never been past Connecticut.

Haven't been to Maine since high school. Never been to Canada!

Was there no announcement?

Possibility #5:first hour Friday and second hour on Monday at 10PM, pre-empting La Piloto.

Yes, there was an announcement - I commented about it on Thursday or Friday. They said May 8. The website also says May 8. However, the website also says that Double Vida starts May 8 at 9 pm, hence the confusion.

So #5 makes a lot of sense.

(I checked tvguide.com and that was useless. They said Vino would be on at 9 on the 8th... and the 9th... and the 10... and the 11th... now that would be quite the trick.)

So there are people that don't travel far from home like me. The most I've been out of Florida is Sumpter South Carolina. And that was over 40 yrs ago. Its safe to say I'm a homebody. Thank God for books or I'd go nowhere. My cousin got Married last saturday, they went to Punta cana Dominican Republic. A very Beautiful tropical. I googled it. It's The same island as Haiti but on the farthest eastern coast. Absolutely stunning. Now that's the way you do a Honeymoon.Or just a real really good vacation. Those who travel do, those who don't dream of it. But dreams come True.
Enjoy your trip suesanlynn.

I'll just watch and see what comes on.
Cuz these uni people can't seem to get
Their scheduling right. Im just very
Excited to see"mr juanderfull-of-crap and miss"I just want to be happy with my faaamily" Have their showdown. And I want to see David's face while it happens, "mr Grace makes my children happey, while Luciana couldn't".Block head.

I don't mind traveling far away... just not very interested in going north. :o)

I have to admit that I am really looking forward to the next week of episodes. Whether I think they're brilliant or stupid, I do believe they will be eventful. I am ready for the tension to ratchet waaaay up.

Hooo Boy the previews on Despierta America here in S Fla are guuuuuuud.

My BIG mouth is sealed. Not even going to tell you about....oops. See. Shuttin my Dorito hole.

Must See TV.......

Julie: I'm interested to see the fallout of Perla's death when Carito & Co., get the news.

Steve, I want to see DisGunshots face DudVid and Mom when she arrives home with her piece still in her purse. You know she is going to want to re-hide it and Lillian is going to want to follow her into her room to ask where in Hades she has been.

That should cause another blowup at sweet dear old Mom.

I Luuuuurvve fireworks.

Now we know no one will be smart enough to catch her with the gun or check the clip and see a round is missing.

In a normal world, a dead non-hooker chick in a nice hotel room in a small town like Snora would be all over the news. So will it make the news in Snoreville or will Tano and Furby try to check in and get the same room and discover her? (This IS a Looney Vision TN, you know)

I thought my avatar captured the mood DisGunslinger will be in after she sees her video.

The entertaining thing about DisGunsNRose' is that she never even thinks about her actions possibly landing her in the electric chair or prison for life. Her O N L Y concern is that if caught she might not be able to Maaaarrrryyyy DudVid, that manly nutless prize of all time.

Yeah I know Ca. doesn't fry 'em, but Electric Chair sounds good and gets the point across.

Here in Flor-I-Duh we have it, it is affectionately called 'Ole Sparky'.

Happy Monday patio Faaaamillly wake up

OK, amigos, listen up:

Anyone who is interested in writing an Alternate Ending for this tale is free to do so. I have a head start on one that will be its own post and will go up after the finale. You don't have to write anything as long as that one will be. Just start from about where we are now, which is the eve of the Wedding of Doom. Email them to me and they will be posted on a day TBD by us, depending on when the final hour of this tale airs.

As for when the actual final hour airs, I hope we find this out today. I am hoping that we get every minute of original stuff from here on in, but there is also Possibility #6 which would be a slice and dice of two episodes between tonight and Thursday and the two final hours airing intact with a Friday finish.

Teammates, will one of you please e-mail me after tonight's episode ends so I know if I have to do the next one as well?

If the final hour airs on Monday the 8th, how do you all feel about doing an Alternate Ending discussion on the following weekend? If more than a few of us submit stuff we'll have multiple lead posts that will be posted as we did the 3-hour finale of PyP, which is to allow comments only after the last submission.

Good Morning to ALL!

Kirby, you crack me up...love your sense of humor. Thanks for the laugh on this early Monday morning!

It's gonna be an interesting week on VEA..and I'm glad I won't have to see Dudvid playing the puppet...or scratching his beard much longer HAHA...but, although I can't stand the twirly eyes, I'll miss figuring out what other hair-brained idea DisCrazie comes up with.

RC

What about the lavender towel Grace took with her? I don't think it has any blood on it. It's possible she ditched it in a laundry cart and it won't matter. But what if she forgets about it and leaves it in her car?

"that manly nutless prize of all time" He's not nutless. He's got DG! *rimshot*

Urban, I'd love an alt ending weekend discussion. I thought of one this morning in the car. It was short and I was going to post it now, but I'll send it to you instead.

I'm so late on discussing. Just popping in to say thank you Julie for the recap! Quite the episode, I wondered who would end up with it!

I'm watching a younger Lilian right now on an old telenovela that Galavision reruns during the day (Mi Destino Eres Tu). Kind of fun to see her!

Kirby the previews here in North Florida are good also. I'll really be happy when tonight's episode happens, cuz I don't want to be a spoiler. Do U
Think maybe some get previews others don't? There was a tn on about one or 2 years ago and there was a preview I saw and I mentioned it and nobody knew what I was talking about. I'm thinking they didn't C the same thing I saw. So I Just decided to zip it about the dang previews. They just do it to bait us anyway into keep watchin and it works.
This week will be actionpacked.

DisGunslinger

DisGunsNRose'

Good morning....er, afternoon, Kirbster and Patio Peeps! Man, you killin' it! You killin' it! You have taken the lead and are far out ahead with the DisGunsNRose'! Well done, comrade!

Ok, haven't read the rest of the comments. Don't want to get busted at work.

Y'all that saw the previews be careful. I want TOTAL SHOCK AND AWE when I watch this thing!

Later!

Thanks It took me two days to think that one up.

Nina here in SW Fl our Univivion is Tampa and I think each station can show or not show the previews.

I have noticed Univision's "9:00" can be minutes off from Fox's 9:00

I'm turning my phone off tonight at 9. Talk about cray cray eyes. Yikes

Well, I am looking forward to more crazy unfolding tonight. Can't wait to see Discouraged and Discombobulated as she continues her downward spiral and spins more and more out of control . .... a cornered rat. Her calm coolness is being replaced with nervous , reckless, and jerky.

Not to mention the insane twitching and talkin 100 miles a minute. When her & Perla were talkin,I couldn't tell who was talkin.
I had to look really carefully at the
Tv. The both of them were screeching at each other. Tryin to read the cc3
And look at them is hard work when they talk like that.

DG looked like she had had too much coffee, all through the episode but especially after she picked up the gun. She looked extremely jumpy and guilty in the morning (in the red dress) when she was talking to David.

Her first killing was not premeditated, and when she decided to whack Juan I don't think it even occurred to her that she might not be cut out for this type of thing.

We'll see tonight whether or not she can play it cool and for how long.

KDR is from Veneuela and actors from there routinely talk faster than the majority of the Televisa actors do. I have trouble keeping up with her during her manic phases.

Oh, the excitement is high on the VEA Patio! Oh, it's never been like this! It's going to be HOT on the old patio tomorrow! Urban will do us proud as always! I think I'm going to be alone in the office for a few hours so I can enjoy the revelry! I hope everybody including L. Linda, RC and others who don't hog the board like I do sometimes, EVABODY should join in this week: It's going to be GOOD!

And I ain't seen no previews!

;D

KDR does talk fast, which made it that much more striking on Friday night when she kicked into too-much-coffee mode, or playing a record at the wrong speed.

This is kind of off topic, but I know some of you get the closed captions in English as CC3, right? I can only get the closed captions in Spanish as having an HDMI cable on the HD TV doesn't seem to allow for CC3. I am thinking that most of you have HD TVs but does having an HDMI cable hinder your ability to get the captions in English? One reason I enjoyed watching the show on Hulu was because I could get closed captions in English and I could reaffirm that I translated properly (most of the time). But now without Hulu, it's quite difficult. Univision has the transcript in Spanish, but then I would have to Google translate it all to English.

I agree it was difficult to understand the fighting words between DisGrace and Perla. I couldn't tell who was speaking, they were both talking too fast.

Julie it might not have occurred to her that she wasn't cut out to be a coldblooded killer, but she's good at it. Lil better watch out, she might get whacked. guns&roses already told her how she feel about her choosing Lisa over her. I don't think it will take much now to push her on over. She is in to-much-coffee mode, with alittle steroids thrown in the mix with all that caffeine. Lucy and marta, and mig
Dodged a bullet, crazy has taken over
In the incompetent vineyard.

Cynthia, the 90 year old lady I take care of had the HDMI cable on her tv
And the cc3 in English came through. I
I don't know if it has anything to do with the cable company, we've got Comcast here I don't know maybe it does maybe it doesn't but she was able to get it until they found out that she didn't have the high definition cable service so they took that cable off and she has regular cable now. Actually she switched directv.

It's a technical question of interest to viewers and especially recappers so it is absolutely not off topic, Cynthia, and thank you for asking. I'm also interested.

I used to watch on hulu when I was behind and I miss it. This "new, upgraded" Xfinity1 has me confused because I can't seem to adjust the language of the closed captions. I used to get English on CC3 but haven't been able to figure it out. I watch without captions, Spanish or English but totally understand that sometimes you want to check, especially as a recapper.

Hope somebody has an answer. Who's your cable provider, Cynthia?

Yes, Cynthia, my captions are more limited with HDMI. In fact, I don't know if it depends on the device or not, but I think I get no captions at all with component video cables (the RGB kind).

So it is RCA cables (the red/white/yellow ones) or nothing. In 2017. Just because I like captions.

Oh yeah, I should mention that the HDMI cable for me would be between the DVR (my own, not the cable company's) and my TV. That's where the captions disappear. There is no option for me to connect the TV to the cable box with HDMI, because they charge an insanely large amount extra for HD service (I would have to upgrade tiers as well).

Lila, I have Spectrum Time Warner.

Just FWIW Re CC3. I do not even have cable, just an antenna and an HD Tv (Sony Bravia, several years old), and I get English CC3 from Over the Air broadcasts from my local Tampa Bay channel 62 Univision station.

OTA (over the air) is ideal for people who can get it. The CCs are just as they were broadcast. When the cable company gets in between the broadcaster and you, things can happen (though they usually don't). Throw in a DVR or some other device and there are more chances for something to go wrong (though again, they usually don't).

Alas, without cable, I get a grand total of one channel, even with an amplified antenna. And it doesn't come in well. For many of us, OTA is not an option. When something goes wrong, it's hard to tell whether it's because of a cranky device, the cable company, the local station, or the network.

Kirby you can get over the air CC3 but with regular non HDMI cabling. It seems to be that only the old fashioned setup will get you CC3. At least that's what it seems to be the case. We who have Cable TV with an HDMI Cable can't get CC3.

Thanks, Cynthia. Wow, Kirby is lucky and Julie, you are right about the Cable company getting in between you and the broadcaster. That's what Comcast/Infinity did. We used to be able to get OTA and now, nada. When the show comes on tonight I will look to see if they flash that CC# symbol at the beginning. I don't know if it's this "new" Xfinity1 service and box, but since we got them about a month ago, when I want English CC, I can't get them. Been fooling around with the box just now and can't get English either. Maybe there's a setting on the tv itself I need to change.

Anywho. Three more hours!

Julie..Do you think that grace is putting honey in her coffee ?

I cannot wait to see how Disturbed behaves tonight after shooting Perla. At this point, she probably feels that she has nothing to lose. I have a funny feeling that she is going to be making more bad decisions. It is a slippery slope..kind of like that little slope that the dump girl used to slide down on a piece of cardboard . Now, that was an odd show. They should have called it "Down in the Dumps."

I would like to see Distracted getting increasingly panicky. Maybe wearing two different shoes (I have personally done this..more then once once) or pouring juice instead of half and half into her morning coffee ( yes..did that, too) .

I am still wondering if she and Dave had just that one night of amor.

Lila, the setting is on your TV.

Susanlynn, there is always room for Grace's decisions to get worse, so it will be fun to see how messed-up she can get without anyone getting seriously alarmed.

I can't wait till she gets home and has to talk to David and/or her mother. (The two of them should sit waiting in the living room with the lights off, and surprise her when she gets home like a teenager coming home after curfew - if she doesn't get spooked and shoot them by mistake, that ought to be an interesting conversation.)

I have done the two different shoes thing a couple of times, too. Grace could go a little further with this, maybe put lipstick on her eyes and eye shadow on her mouth...

Disgrace and Dave may have had just that one overnight in bed together, but they got started a couple of times on other occasions. We were spared the rest of the details, but I assume they did the deed and then went to their own rooms.

I am not familiar with the dump girl thing. What was that?

You know what, Julie? This is where Comcast has come between the viewer and the broadcaster. There is a CC button on the TV, you push it and you get "Not Available." I get the same message for all but a few of the function buttons on this fancy/schmancy Samsung big screen joker. Channel selection, picture in picture and few other video quality functions, previous channel and volume are the only functions that work. When we set up the new box you have to input the identifying serial number of your TV and I guess this is what allows the Xfinity box and remote to take over control of your TV. It sucks.

Last ditch effort, I will Google how to change language in the new Xf1 box and see what other folk have come up with. Thanks!

HA! ROFLMAO!

I used to not be able to get cc3. So my brother called comcast. They sent a tech. I don't how he did it but he, he
Pushed the help butten on my remote,
Went to setup, then went to closed caption ,found the cc3 put it on cc1 and then turned off the closed caption then went to something on his device that's Connected to the system, and now I have closed caption cc3. But it had something to do with the univision station in jacksonville florida, and comcast, which is 18 without cable and 32 with cable.
They were out for about a week and when they came back on people were having trouble getting cc3. They even suggested univision in jacksonville to let them know.
Other people were calling them too. It
Finally got straightened out. I hope yours does julie.

Oh sorry, Lila. I don't have the X1 thing. Maybe that really does get in the way. I was thinking you had to go into the TV menu (not the cable menu) and pick whether you want CC1 or CC3. Then the CC button on your remote turns them on and off.

Mine's fine, though, Nina.

Here is something that may or may not be helpful regarding HDMI and CCs:

Julie..wow. Now, you are tuning directly into my bad teen memories. When I was late getting hone one night, my date and I walked into the kitchen which had one tiny , dim light on. My mother wearing a red chenille full length bathrobe was silently pointing up at the wall clock.. .very subtle woman . I hope that either Lilian or Dave reenact that for Disgrace.

The dump telenovela was CI which stands for Corazon Something in which a lot of the characters lived in a real dump . The poor girl was, of course, in love with a rich boy whose family hated her. It was a terrible show.I was always ticked because when the two met to slide down the little slope on cardboard (stupid) ,he never brought her a sandwich or an apple .It was an awful show with literal and figurative slippery slopes.

Ahh...I would like to see that red lipstick get out of control in those tiny, shaky fingers. Yeah, let's have that happen. A joker look.

Julie, that sounds like what that tech from comcast did. He by-passed the tv
HDMI And got cc3 for me. So glad he did, cuz I really wanted to know what they were Saying on PYP. And all these other tns Too. Loves me some cc3.

Ever notice how DisGuns'NRose' carefully uses her fingers to wipe the lipstick smudge on Dudlie?

So consiserate and Luuuuurving. And fricking CRAZO in One Hour.

Oh, Corazon Indomable. I didn't see that, but I remember people hating it!

But the dump girl was actually the show La Gata. Also an awful show. Hard to say which was worse. They were both dreadful.

Thanks for the link above, Julie! I'll check it out!

Well, it sounds fascinating, Judy, even if dreadful. Sometimes I'm tempted to research all the different ways that a TV show can be bad. It seems there are good bads and bad bads.

Ah, La Gata, which we named "The Show That Shall Not be Named" or TSTSNBN. I joined the recap team somewhere around halfway through. It was such fun to make fun of. It was a rocking Patio. I should go back and read some recaps sometime! Ah, good old days!

These were both Bad Bads. Trust me.

Also, thanks for the true confessions about orange juice in coffee etc. My mother was senile at my age, so every time I do something crazy like that I think the Dementia Fairy has visited. But if Julie and Susanlynn sometimes do stuff like that too, well I'll rest easy.

I can't swear I'm not demented, Judy, but an occasional brain-fart is well within normal human operating parameters. :-) Personally, I have a problem with purchases at the supermarket where I compare two items, one in each hand. I decide which one I want, put it back on the shelf, and buy the other one. Frequently.

Orange juice in coffee isn't as bad as
Pepsi in milk, remember Laverne and shirley? Laverne liked the to pour the two together and drink. I like saltine crackers and applesauce. Yummo!

Are ALL of you preggers? You can't lay all this at my "Honey in Coffee" feet. !
