Vino el Amor #138 (Univision #127), May 2, 2017: Vino el Killa Bridezilla

In this episode, we've got blackmail, regrets, worries, dumb moves, and a whole bunch of killa bridezilla faces!

This is my last recap. I had high hopes for this show, but ultimately the writing just was not good and the main promoted couple was probably the worst couple I've ever seen on a telenovela. So it's definitely not going down for me as a favorite. On the plus side, the villains were fun and the supporting characters were fairly fleshed out. There were some good performances in the cast. I really thought Kimberly Dos Ramos stood out as Gracie - one of the more intriguing and crazy villains I've seen in one of these. She gave great screencap face, so for my last recap, I am going to salute those crazy faces one last time.

In the end, I had a good time laughing at the whole thing and I guess in that sense, I was entertained! Which is all I ask of the telenovelas I watch. Thank you to all of the fellow recappers and to all of you who posted nice words for my recaps and had a good time commenting on the show.

Shaking and standing alone in David's home office, Gracie re-rewatches the video of her killing Perla that Juan sent her. When she hears and sees the shooting, she re-drops her phone and commences wigging out. Of course that's when Juan calls.

David has identified Perla's corpse, as the police didn't know who else to call and he was the employer of last record. David tells the police that Perla had no one to contact, but he'll step in and make arrangements.

Gracie is freaked out and accuses Juan of trying to set her up. He points out that she wanted to kill him and she tries to defend herself by saying that Perla provoked her. She, of course, speaks 1000 words/minute and makes some pretty epic faces doing this.

Juan is not amused AT ALL and hollers that Gracie will need to pay. Juan reminds her that everything is recorded. He wants her to pay for her silence but now also for having killed Perla. They tell each other that they hate each other. No kidding. Juan tells Gracie she took away everything he ever wanted, and she disagrees since all he wanted was money. Gracie offers to give Juan the money he asked for, but Juan now doubles the price. Gracie screams at the phone that she doesn't have the money and that's nuts. Juan says that's her problem. If she doesn't cough up, the video is going direct-to-release to David, Lilian, Fer and the police's cell phones.

Luciana gets the Dum-vid feels as she watches a happy couple on a date and we hear Carla Morrison.

Gracie screeches again that she doesn't have the money. Juan screeches again that she better get it or the video gets texted. She tells Juan to go for it and no one will believe him because Perla was the aggressor.  He retorts by pointing out the video tells the story and even if the police think it's self-defense, what will Dum-vid think? Especially when Juan reveals that Gracie killed Lisa too? Gracie is beside herself now.

In their next scene, David and Luciana meet on the streets of Sonoma. It's been a long time. She asks how the wedding plans are coming. David makes clear to Luciana that she's a great woman, the vineyard has gone to the pits without her, he loves her and it is a pity that their relationship has not worked. Luciana doesn't want to hear it as he is marrying another woman and it's not fair to her.

Gracie wigs out on the phone with Juan, loud enough that Fer and Bobby have come to the door outside and speculate that she's fighting with someone. (Of note, Fer is wearing a tee shirt that says "Needie.") They knock on the door and ask if she's OK. Gracie manically screeches at them that she'll be with them in a minute, while Juan joker-laughs at her and the kids are completely befuddled. Juan tells her to tell the kids their aunt is a killa! He's got her where he wants her with the proof on plot cell phone 2, and Gracie capitulates and says she'll find the damn money and meet him. Juan warns her if she brings the police, the video will be released. Gracie slams the phone down and makes another face.

Dum-vid repeats his tired the-kids-come-first-lines to Luciana. Luciana tells him she can't believe that this is the direction he wants his life to go. Dum-vid repeats how he's making a sacrifice for the kids, to make them happy. Luciana tells him that he's made her very unhappy. He tells her when she has kids, she'll understand.  She tells him she'll teach her future kids to fight for love. They go another round or so of this, and Luciana is done, and wishes him happiness with Gracie. She starts to leave, but Dum-vid stops her. He tells her he needs to know after all has happened - wait for it - does she still love him? UGH. Worst Couple Ever. This scene makes it very obvious why they are not a supercouple to root for.

Lilian finds Fer and Bobby outside Dum-vid's home office. They tell her they are worried about Tia Grace. Something on her cell phone made her very nervous earlier. Lilian knocks on the office door and Gracie screeches at her that she's coming already. Fer goes to call her father.

Luciana asks why in the heck would David ask this. He's hurt her enough already. He needs to know. Since he has always loved her and...ding a ling, ding a ling, Fer's call interrupts this conversation. Having heard that Gracie is in his office freaking out, Dum-vid is going to take off. Luciana tells him that she's sure his future wife needs him more than she does and does her stomping off thing.

Miguel and Marta are making a list of restaurants placing wine orders when Ramon calls from Susan's lab room to let Marta know to be careful, because (as everyone but Gracie and Juan mistakenly believe) Juan killed Perla.

Lilian asks what's up with Gracie and why is she hysterical. Gracie and Lilian discuss Juan's threats but Lilian is still in the dark about what Gracie did and think she's talking about their earlier shenanigans with Juan, so she advises her to forget about Juan since there's no evidence of that, and focus on marrying Dum-vid. She also advises her that she will really need to explain away her agitated behavior to the children.

Marta and Miguel are all, "Que?" "No puede ser" and "Juan esta loco." Miguel feels bad for Carito as he knows she will be saddened by Perla's death. Marta says he should go visit her. Miguel wants to go to Carito but Marta doesn't want to run into Lilian so she won't join him.

Gracie apologizes for scaring the kids and makes up a story about some wedding surprise plan for Dum-vid gone awry to explain her behavior. They believe it, but she's really off kilter. Fer tells her she called Dum-vid. Lilian can tell something is really off this time.

Susan meets Luciana at the coffee shop. Luciana tells her about encountering Dum-vid and the nice things he said about her, and she wanted to tell him her feelings but on the other hand, he's still a bum who broke her heart (go with that Luciana!). Susan asks what she ended up telling David. Luciana says she told him nothing, because she's angry he still loves her but he's marrying Gracie and she doesn't understand how you marry someone and say you love someone else.

David startles Gracie when he joins her in her bedroom. He asks how she is, as Fer was very worried. She plays it off as no big thing. He doesn't buy it and tells her to be honest with him. She starts her tale of how her "honeymoon surprise of a visit from the kids" went awry. Even Dum-vid can see something is not quite right here. He's worried about her being so stressed out and thinks that maybe it's better to postpone the wedding since the plans are stressing her out.

Susan is surprised that Luciana did not tell David that he loves him too. Luciana thought he wanted her forgiveness. She understands that David is doing this marriage for the children and thinks he has no choice at this point because they would never forgive him for canceling it. She hopes in time that he'll be happy and will forget about her.

Now the bride is really stressed out!
Gracie wigs out again at Dum-vid's suggestion, grabs David and says no no no no no to delaying the wedding. David holds her and says it's only so she can take more time and calmly plan things. This is her reaction to that:

Gracie talks about how their lives are moving ahead with Fer going to university and their wedding happening. She does this so frantically that David asks if she's OK. She says it's just everything is happening and I'm emotional and I want to win your love and I am not with the kids as much as I want to be right now because of wedding plans and I want to keep the wedding date. He asks if she's sure and she starts to screech she is, but Dum-vid tells her to stay calm and gives her the-kids-come-first-so-as-long-as-they-are-happy speech. He doesn't want her stressing out to worry the kids. She promises to calm down and rest and not worry the kids.

Carito is cleaning the employees' quarters kitchen when she receives her visit from Miguel. He hugs her and she cries about Perla. Miguel worries for Carito's safety and feels badly for her losing her friend. Carito blames herself for not doing something to get Perla out of trouble sooner and regrets that their last conversation was a fight. She's afraid Juan will come for her. Miguel comforts her.

Luciana is done talking about Dum-vid so she tells Susan about Miguel wanting her back. Susan empathizes and says that things have been complicated for Miguel, but you know she's just wondering where the heck her job offer from vinedo del competency went.

Gracie is looking for her checkbook and finds in a drawer it next to plot gun. That gives her a murderous idea and she plots out loud against Juan to herself. Then she shoots Juan (pun intended) a text.

Fer and Bobby worrywart about Tia Grace. Dum-vid comes in and tells them that she was just stressing out about the wedding. You know, how women do. He advises them to give her a little space and assures them it all will go back to normal after the wedding. Bratty Bobby invites David to go kill zombies with him or whatever video game they are on to now.

Night falls and Leon returns home to find Carito fretting in the kitchen and feeling very sad about Perla. She doesn't understand why Juan killed her. Leon says, well because he's loco. Leon realizes a change of subject might be good, and starts to ask Carito's help with reading some romantic novels he's got and telling her the most romantic parts. Tano interrupts this to ask if he wants to have beers with Miguel. Leon prioritizes his romantic novel reading over boys night out.

Wine and girl talk time with David and Cesar! So glad I got one of these for the last recap.

Dum-vid tells Cesar all about his run-in with Luciana and that he told her he would always love her. Cesar thinks it's not too late to make a change in life plans here. David disagrees, but he does feel badly that he hurt Luciana so much. Dummy.

Marta and Miguel went back to work, but get interrupted by sobbing Luciana who is now upset about her encounter with David. Miguel is angered by her being so upset again about Dum-vid, and he's also annoyed that she boo-hoos to him after the way he confessed that he felt about her. Not to mention that he's gone out of his way to make her feel welcome and wanted at the vinedo del competency. He does the Luciana stomp out of his office. Marta gently strokes Luciana's hair and tells her that Miguel has got a point.

Dum-vid and Cesar discuss Dum-vid's great love for Luciana. Cesar points out to him that Bobby is 11 and Fer is about to say "so long" and head to college, so the kids excuse is growing a bit weary for him to marry a woman that he doesn't love. Dum-vid admits that Luciana has said the same, but for him the happiness of the kids comes first and they adore Gracie. Cesar points out that Susan had problems with a loveless marriage and that's what's in store for David. He begs Dum-vid to use his head (LOLOLOLOL) and not to marry Gracie.

Juan is in his creepy dark hotel room and hears a knock on the door. It's Gracie and he drags her inside, where he frisks her and takes her purse. Uh-oh -- plot gun falls out, and that maldito Juan has it! And he's not happy that Gracie brought it.

Juan asks if she was planning to kill him and she denies it. She begs for her life. He almost chokes her after she tells him the money, well, the part that she originally agreed to, is in her purse in the form of signed checks. He wants the other half. He tells her he will get revenge for Perla. She wigs out once more and tells him to leave her in peace.

Cesar continues reasoning with Dum-vid but his final advice to think, well - this advice is being given to Dum-vid, so we'll see how well this will go. I know I have my doubts.

Gracie tries to reason with Juan. He wanted a million dollars! He shoves her toward her checkbook to sign over the other half of the money and threatens her not to do any funny business with the bank to stop the checks.

Luciana whines about still loving David. She doesn't understand his actions or decisions. She's feeling worse than ever and misses her life. Marta tries to comfort her and encourage her to move.on.already. Luciana doesn't know how and she knows that Dum-vid misses her. Life is unjust, WAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH.

Gracie asks Juan for time to get the finances together. He tells her she only needs enough time to just sign a bunch of checks. She calls him a bunch of screechy names. He tells her she's in no position to do this as she killed Perla. She's ready to fight back and defiantly yells that no one gets between her and David while he holds the gun on her!

It doesn't work out though as Juan overpowers her, calls her crazy, and threatens to play the video at the wedding if she doesn't come up with the money for him to cash the checks on. Then he has her sign checks at gunpoint.

Dum-vid looks at a framed photo of dead Lisa and him. He's boo-hooing as he prays to dead Lisa for guidance on what is best for the children. Whatever should he do?

Tano and Miguel are having their Leon-less beers and girl talk time at a pub. They discuss Luciana and how the vinedo del incompetency is even more incompetent without her, her sobbing love for David, Miguel's love for Luciana, and how Miguel feels the need to have a beer after so much Luciana angst. Mig doesn't like how David treats Luciana and made her cry today. He feels he has more to offer her, like you know, being nice to her and not marrying his sister-in-law succubus.

Juan is going to kill Gracie for not having enough money. She begs for time. If she marries David, she can get his lands and money. Juan tells her to just ask David for the money, but warns her again not to go to the police. He shoves her out the door and out to get the money.

Tano says that although she loves David, Luciana will turn to Miguel after the big David/Gracie wedding. Miguel sadly notes that his feelings are just growing ever so strong so it's hard to wait. Tano encourages him to have patience, use his (I would say ERIKA's) vineyard to grow closer to her, and give it time.

It's the next day and Dum-vid checks on Gracie, who is in bed barely hiding that she's traumatized. He hopes she is feeling calmer and will have a better day. What does she need? Dinero, she says. Mucho dinero. She asks for a large amount for the wedding, but he balks and makes her promise to only spend what she needs.  She explains she needs cash right away to make something wedding-wise happen. Then he caves. She's relieved he will give her the dinero. Ugh he's so dumb. I honestly don't get why any of these women want such a dummy. This is probably my number one issue with this whole show.

Miguel apologizes to Luciana for speaking harshly to her the day before. She understands he was giving her the hard truth. He hated seeing her so affected and sad. She promises she'll be better, but she needs his help completely forgetting Dum-vid. Miguel is surprised to hear that...

Avances revealed, well too much, but did say that the final is now Monday 5/8 (which is good, I had concert tickets for Friday) and at 8 pm instead of 9.

Holy Crap! I'm first and don't have my thoughts in order.

DY, so this was your swannn songgg and a lovely melody it was. Thank you for all the recaps and sharing your wit and wisdom, snark and story-telling to keep us entertained. This was a to-die-for (NOT) episode, no?

Has anyone noticed that since we pulled all those jokes on Marta's shoes, nary a pair has been seen?

Go Juan!

More later.

"killa bridezilla" I like it dy and big thanks.

This TN was about 120 episodes too long.

Shock, it took Luciana telling David he hurt her for him to consider he hurt her. Typical arrogant, selfish, lazy and condescending Dave messes with her head again.

All I can think of is what happened to Lisa's phone.

Erika's photos still adorn the multi purpose room so how has Miguel so quickly forgotten?

Poor Graciela. Seems to me she has lost weight due to the constant stress.

Thank you Dee Wye for an action packed recap.

That was the smartest thing I have seen in this whole show, the way NoJuan ambushed DisGunSlinger at the door and immediately got her (Gun Containing) purse.

The way her clothing always fits there is no way she would be carrying her gun ON her, and she had it in her purse before. Did she think NoJuan would let her saunter into his room and leisurely whip out her pistol? Remember Nojuan is Cray Cray, not Stup Stup.

Are we to assume there is NoWay money in the bank to cover those checks? I assume that is where her plea to DudLie came from. I was not clear which Million we were dealing with until I thought about it a little.

If I can get my beanie snugged up and pointed toward the North Star....I am to believe that NumbNutt is preparing to marry this Sister-In-Law chick who he does not love. Somehow she is overdrawn at the bank on wedding “Stuff” by a paltry MILLION DOLLARS and you are going to scrape up the money to make everything gooder and more pretty? David just had a heart to rocks talk with Cesar, isn't it time to ask for a little advice now? A million should cover their whole wedding several times over. This is a small wine producer, not the Kardashians. A million OVER BUDGET..?..?

But honestly, when NumbNutley mentioned postponing the wedding a little she almost blew a gasket. If he really did call it off I think she would try to kill him. And what the kids heard through the famous Door/Notmuchofadoor should have ended any wedding plans right there. Another thing: : what ever happened to hearing a meltdown or confession or something you are not supposed to be hearing, and just STFU and listen for a while? If you start overhearing Jeffrey Dahmer planning a menu, just be quiet for a minute !

And she is writing NoJuan CHECKS? When did Cray Cray blackmailers start taking checks? I was waiting for her to just ask him “Um Juan, do you have PayPal ?”.....!

OT: I want one of those phones like DudLie and DisGoinTaDaSlammer (sung to Goin to the Chapel) use. You can identify it as the screen does not turn off when you hold it to your ear. Both Dave and Grace use the same one. The reason I want one, is my S6 dislodged from ther handlebar holder the other day and fell to the pavement and died. That was nothing like we have seen on desktops and the floor with both theirs, and no obligatory trip to the phone store. That's the phone for me.

Yeah, I noticed when the show first started that DisGrace was carrying a lotta junk in the trunk and I always thought but never said it, that she would be pretty hot if she would get in shape. Although she is nowhere cut like LuLu, she has trimmed down some.

DY! You have been such a joy with your thorough, hilarious recaps and perfect sreencaps! This was a marvelous final recap for this sorry-assed couple's story! They don't deserve it, but we do, so GRACIAS!! I'll be back to join the fun later. Gotta go do stuff!

Thank you SO MUCH!!!

Dy: The title of your recap pretty much said it all!

ROFLOL.

Things I liked about this episode—NADA!! Your recap is so much more entertaining, dy...thank you!!

KDR continues her admirable performance of the unhinged, desperate DIS-integrating, gun-totin DES-Graciada. Some of her twitches actually looked robotic—like she was on auto-pilot. What a lame excuse she used to explain her “panic attack”—and all the idiots bought it!! And, did she really think NoJuan was going to let her just walk in and kill him? DisGrace looked like a ragdoll, the way he wwas throwing her around. It’s obvious that this woman does not think things through—she acts on impulse and that has been her (very deserved) downfall.

Oh, and I laughed when Dis-armedGrace grabbed Dudvid and pulled him toward her when he went to check on her—wow, she practically picked him up off the bed—what strength!! LOL

DudvifIonlyhadsomeballs was a freakin’ a-hole, telling Luci that he still loves her and asking if she still loves him. It’s not like he was going to grow any and cancel the wedding. His beard-scratching was so bad, I thought he’d start bleeding.

Everything else seemed like the writer’s attempt to prolong our agony…oh well….

RC

Thanks, dy77. Fab recap. Loved all your asides. You bring such wit to the Luciana-David-Miguel-Marta stuff that is so snoozy on screen. One of my faves: She starts to leave, but Dum-vid stops her. He tells her he needs to know after all has happened - wait for it - does she still love him? UGH. Worst Couple Ever.

The main event. DisGrace vs. Juan. Loved Juan turning the tables on DisGrace and snatching her little purse right away. Just enough room in that thing for a big gun and a checkbook, not much more.

Thank you DY for all your hard work and all those great screenshots you did. They are so perfect and I absolutely LOVED how you captured DisGrace’s “WTF am I going to do” expressions on her face. I have enjoyed being on this recapping team with you very much and hope that in the future that we might be on the same team again. So I just want to say that you have done a very wonderful job throughout the entire series.

I loved how you titled this “Vino el Killa Bridezilla”. Just perfect!

Well, I have to get back to work. See you all later today. I’ll be back with further comments

dy, your screen shots were amazing. What a fantastic job you did for your finale! You added so much cleverness and your wit and wisdom are greatly appreciated.

"killa bridezilla faces" and "...use his (I would say ERIKA's) vineyard" were among many favorites.

"David makes clear to Luciana that she's a great woman, the vineyard has gone to the pits without her, he loves her and it is a pity that their relationship has not worked". A pity?? You've broken the woman you love's heart and is that all you can muster? Yes, please. Go ahead and pour salt on her open, wounded heart by telling her you love you, yet it isn't enough not to marry someone else. Galan? Never.

"Miguel is angered by her being so upset again about Dum-vid, and he's also annoyed that she boo-hoos to him after the way he confessed that he felt about her. Not to mention that he's gone out of his way to make her feel welcome and wanted". Oh no he didn't!? I am incredulous. The nerve of him to go off on Luci and to throw the job he literally begged her to take in her face. All along I've said he was a great friend but last night, he wasn't. Pathetic. I know the rejection stung, but how many times will it take before he finally realizes Luci does not love him?

"Dum-vid looks at a framed photo of dead Lisa and him. He's boo-hooing". Ummm, David? You don't know the half of it. Better stock up on Kleenex pronto.

We saw far too much last night of galans behaving badly. Basta!

I was happy Juan ripped that purse right out of Graciela's arms. I did smile that he patted her down at first though. That small woman had no where to hide the gun. The check scenario was ridiculous. "I was waiting for her to just ask him “Um Juan, do you have PayPal ?”.....Yes, Kirby. Totally baffling.

And yes tofie, where IS Lisa's phone? I guess it's waiting for the finale to appear.

I've watched many wonderful TNs and a few not so good ones. This really is at the bottom of my list. Sonia was the only bright star.

I fell asleep right before the final scene with Miguel and Luci so I did not see the previews. Maybe it's for the best.

dy, it's been an honor and a pleasure. Thank you for all you have given us!

Diana

That's a nice swan song there, dy, for doing God's work on this fakakta show.

As much as this was almost a masterclass in facial expressions courtesy Kimberly Dos Ramos, there was a moment at the end of the episode where Graciela was hugging David and swearing that everything would be fine once they were married and Gabriel Soto--por fin!--was utterly rocking this "What the fork is happening?" face over her shoulder. Since this was, I believe, the first time David has truly witnessed Graciela unhinged...who am I kidding, we've needed that face for weeks if not months. (See also his praying to Dead Lisa, which we should have had more of on general principle.)

That said, though...even discounting Susan and Cesar playing audience stand-ins (complete with exasperation at how stupid things are) for their besties...David truly earned that dummy sobriquet in this episode. He's marrying Graciela in a few days, and is still deadset on doing so...but he demands to know if Luciana still loves him? I'm not even counting Graciela hitting him up for money at this point, since that's just part/parcel of her usual manipulations, though that probably pushes it over the top. He's at the point where he'd have to do so much groveling that it'd take an 8.5 earthquake to reveal where he was after he finished, and he's not worth Luciana at this point...but Luciana, if somewhat sanely, can't completely move on from him (in part because Miguel is apparently the only eligible bachelor in Sonoma in her age bracket) even while she's utterly fed up with him. It continues to be utterly forked up, but consistent.

Random thought--Dudveed instinctively KNOWS he shouldn't be marrying DisGracie. They were all perfectly "fine" living under the same roof and DG carrying out housewifely and motherly duties, fussing around him and the children (except he had no clue she had ulterior motives).

The ONLY reason he is marrying DG is that he was embarrassed that Bobby found them in bed together, not behaving very in-lawish. He's enough of a prude that he doesn't want his son (and anyone else Booby tells) to see him as some serial womanizer who satisfies his needs with the most available woman (which he did--Luci first). He won't tolerate having the label--Boys (or men) will be boys--attached to him. He's to upright (and uptight) he has to become conventional, for his son's sake.

He won't listen to any one else's reasoning that Fer will be gone in a month or two and Bobby out of the house in 6 years.

The two kids could have continued loving DG and tolerating abuela without benefit of clergy.

"So Hon, let me get this so I can tell the accountants, our wedding is this weekend and there are still a million dollars, give or take, in unpaid expenses and over runs?"

At $50 a bottle wholesale, that is still Twenty Thousand bottles of our best wine, Babe. That is 1700 cases you may have seen Tano and the boys filling. End to end, Graciela, those bottles would make a line about 4 miles long. Are you sure you spent a Mill over what we originally thought about?

Who we kidding. David wanted both women and almost pulled it off. He thinks Graciela is wife material on his same level and Luciana is secret side piece to be used and disrespected. He has never treated Graciela as horribly as Luciana and he wouldn't.

There are so many aunts out there in the world serving as mother figures for their nieces and nephews but not putting the screws to the daddy, threatening that "If you don't marry me and make me your mujer, I won't continue to nurture your kids." Duhvid is just so stupid not to see DisGrace is extorting him. If she really loved the kids, she'd help out with them no matter who he married. Dumbest galan ever.

Anita...Sooo Sooo true. There is an old Southern addage about cows, milk and fences.

Dumbest
Galan
Ever

Niecei, look at the time. I didn't (on purpose) copy your post. Holy Cow !

To the second. I don't think I have ever seen that on Blogger before.

Kirby - If it were put up to a vote for the whole blog, I'm sure Duhvid would be a shoo-in.

Random thought, for laughs--DG panicked when David offered to take over the wedding accounting, since she went over "a little" on wedding expenses. He told her to give him the bills and he would make sure they were paid.

For someone running a multi-million (or is it only in the thousands) dollar vineyard and DG says no, it's just for this and that and she doesn't want a check, she wants it in cash, shouldn't that have run up a whole set of red flags on red flagpoles? Geesh.

Kirby--Are you saying cows will be cows, milk will be milk and fences will be fences? Please amplify--can't stand not knowing.

Tofie at 12:54, that's the sho nuff truth! He never saw Luci as anything but a spare but the writers want us to think he really luuurrrves her but his LOVE for his children is greater, so he marries skank sister-in-law who's been presenting her tush to him from the first time they met and all through his marriage to Lisa.

Dum-vid looks at a framed photo of dead Lisa and him. He's boo-hooing as he prays to dead Lisa for guidance on what is best for the children. Whatever should he do?

You lying, hypocritical, limp-wicked, brainless POS: You didn't listen to Lisa when she was alive. She was highly distressed at how her sister was after your useless ass and you wouldn't do so much as to literally lift a finger to stop her feeling up your biceps and openly giving you CFM looks and poses.

Hell. Let Juan show up to the wedding, play to video -- Dud STILL won't get it -- and then bust a cap in his ass! Let Luci leave for Spain or do a wine tour of the whole world and leave all these losers to their own devices!

I have tried so hard not see this "galan" as hopelessly stupid that I even thought (and posted at the end of yesterday's recap) that maybe Dud is suspicious and will give DisGoingdowninflames the money and follow her to see what's up. This is his last possible chance to redeem his two brain cells.

This "romance", if not the whole show, can join La Gata in the annals of mass intestinal ejection!

Thanks again, DY, you made this a helluva lotta fun!

Oh, and the name, DY, must go down in the Caray Caray Hall of Coolest Names Ever!

Gracias, dy77 for sticking this out to the bitter end. This is by far not the best of the novelas I've covered since getting to this blog.

Your screen shots are perfect for this. This Killa Bridezilla should be the subject of a rap song and/or video.

Cesar continues to be the Voice of Reason and David is still brainwashed. Did we expect otherwise?

I don't know what these writers were up to through this series, but it looks like it was all done on the fly. If they did this in reaction to daily comments about this series in Mexico that may be why it is such a disaster. No real romance for the two leads is a mortal sin in any novela with the A word in the title.

Considering the situation, there is no way in hell that their wedding would cost $1MM. David does need to look at the bills.

I'm sorry you wont be posted the rest of the show. I enjoyed your blog since I don't speak Spanish but I did watch the show I was able to read your blog and understand what I was watching. Thanks

Anita there is an old saying "Why buy the cow if you are already milking it through the fence?"

IE: That first night DisGrungy removed much incentive to marry her.

Unfortunately for Luciana, when she slept with David in secret, it removed any incentive for David to continue the relationship. Graciela on the other hand was able to seal the deal.

These writers did a masterful job disemboweling the strong women on the show: Susan, Erica, Luci. .or killing the women off. I still think Perla had her own kind of strength, the strength of her committment to Juan. It cost her her life but she never wavered. Luci has been turned into a bawling mass of stomping curls. You guys know how the Peanuts characters look when they wail or scream, the entire circle of their head is one big open mouth: that's what Luci was like in this episode. The Luci that stood up to Lil when she was a little girl and who sat up nearly all night with a broom in her hand to protect her and her Dad from danger when they were in that seedy little dive in Mexico, the Luci that withstood separation from half her family: I feel like that Luci would have blown this pop stand months ago and would have had her love totally quenched by Dudvid's stupidity and gullibility.

What in the hell does she love him for? He's treated her terribly as you all have noted and if its that, Grace has her claw marks and lipstick all over it and Luci wouldn't want that, either.

Hear, hear, Lila. I think we have concluded that the writers are not just a misogynist crew, but they hate strong, intelligent men, too. The producer should be forced to apologize publicly to all of us for letting this attitude get to the screen.

Thank you , dy77, for another snappy recap and your swan song for this calamity of a telenovela. Loved the screencaps.

Kim must have been exhausted after these last few episodes because she was in so many scenes making all those fabulous faces. Dave , on the other hand, continued to have mostly the one expression that he usually has for any number of emotions. However, when he was sitting on the bed talking to Grace and she pulled him to her, he did have a definite QTH look on his furry face.

Kirby..I heard a similar saying as I was growing up minus the fence. "Why buy the cow if you are getting the milk for free?" Since a lot of my friends lived on dairy farms, I was very familiar with cows, milk, and how much both of those things cost. I got the analogy. Do not give away the milk...also do not sell the milk. Another popular saying around here was , "Kissing don't last; cooking do.".. But that is not true. I hate to cook.

Loved all the insightful comments. I, especially, loved your views , Anita

I know that Lu will rush to Dave at the end to offer sympathy and comfort , but I going to hate that a lot. Lu is very pretty, smart, educated , and she has to get out and meet some more guys. If you think that he is needy and dim now, just wait because it will only get worse.likewise,Miguel, go out and meet some new people.

Lila..the strong woman theme is a very popular now. Evident!y, the writers did not get the memo. As you said, they do not seem to be fans of strong men either. Geez.I wonder about the gender and ages of these writers. They seem to hate women..and men. Also, I haven't seen any animals in this show..not a cat, dog, hamster, bird, turtle, horse...so they must not like animals either. Haters gonna hate .

Lila..I got a giggle out of the Peanuts analogy. Irina must be one of the worst criers ever. She should get a tutorial from Juan.

Ah, Susanlynn! Yah, this was a cynical bunch. So, we have possibly two weddings: one in which the bride is the killer of the groom's first wife, her own sister, and said wedding may be interrupted by a video of MachineGunGracie mowing down a helplessly in love, fighting for her man, tragic figure, Perla. Or, said wedding could be interrupted by a hail of bullets from Perla's widowed, and wrongly accused lover, Juan.

The next possible wedding will be between the above damaged goods groom, probably teetering on the edge of mental collapse after the above aborted or cancelled wedding and the bride, a formerly smart young woman who could've done so much more with her life if she had just installed Daddy's ashes in a crypt in Mexico and headed out into the world to make her fortune.

Yes, VEA writers, can't wait to get this chunk of my life back!

And then after this is all over, and all the main characters are on Hoy and Fat and Skinny we will see Kimy Two Eyes.

She will be sweet as sugar talking about playing that role in VEA and laughing and flirting and we will all go:

"Watch Out ! It is just an act ! That little Blondie is the original Shekel and Hide." "Don't believe her, and don't turn your back."

Hmm...Miguel has been hugging Carito a lot lately. Is this going to turn into a thing? As either Julie or Lila recently observed, Carito has no zazz . She is much too zazzless for Miguel who seems to be a guy who likes the zazz as evidenced by the two chicks he dug..Erica and Lu. Carito has a low zazz reading. She is zazz deficient.

Can someone explain "a honeymoon surprise of a visit from the kids."what? Is that the best lie Grace could come up with under pressure? Do people usually plan visits from their kids on their honeymoons? Really? Out of what nook and cranny of the abyss that is Grace's mind did this spring? Did she just focus on two prominent words in her brain..kids and honeymoon...and put them into a sentence? Kim should have gotten an award . I can absolutely feel her panic increasing in every episode. I feel exhausted exhausted at the end of each episode, and the actress must be exhausted playing this role. She is scary great as Grace on the edge of sanity as she watches all her patient plans continue to crumble.

I am looking at the screen caps again, and Kim's eyebrows are really getting a workout..up..down..up again..then down..now way up. Is eyebrow fatigue a thing?

ARGHHHH I don't know when I will get a chance to read this recap and comments, but in hopes of venting some of the frustration I felt last night, here I go:

David, you brainless, selfish douchebag. Leave Luciana alone. You made your Luciless bed and now you can lie in it.

(I wasn't thrilled with Miguel last night either, but I was too mad about David to feel anything extra for Miguel.)

Miguel should ask himself why on earth Luciana would consider having a relationship with an employer ever again.

HEY GENTLEMEN OF FAKE SONOMA: Stop hitting on your employees. Venture off the vineyard once in a while. Meet some women who don't depend on you for their livelihood!

And yes, Susanlynn, Carito needs to take the zazz train to zazz town.

We all seem to be amazed that women are lining up for Dumb as a rock Dave..Lisa, Grace, Lu. I bet there were lots more in high school and college . Hey, I bet that we have all seen this phenomenon happen in real life, too. Beauty is skin deep , but dumb...just keeps on keeping on.

Julie! Kindred spirit! I hope you do get a chance to read the recap and the comments. I was just one Patio member who cussed Dudvid out! You tell 'em, Girl!

I can absolutely feel her panic increasing in every episode. I feel exhausted exhausted at the end of each episode, and the actress must be exhausted playing this role. She is scary great as Grace on the edge of sanity as she watches all her patient plans continue to crumble.

Susanlynn! Yes! Me, too! I feel all flitty and flighty and scared during Gracie's scenes! Not every character can get an emotional echo out of me but Gracie does and so did Juan the night he discovered Perla.

Many of the others I just want to slap!

Thanks again, dy77. It was fun being on the recap team with you. Your recaps are fabulous, and I always admire your ability to get the screencaps at just the right moment when things are in motion. I wish I could do that!

Fer is wearing a tee shirt that says "Needie.")

I've already called David a brainless, selfish douchebag, but I forgot that he paused his douchey interrogation of Luciana to take a call from his kids. David, you should thank your needie daughter for her perfect timing.

I am a little confused about the checks. I think the first million was supposed to be in registered bank checks (which don't have to have anyone's name on them I don't think, and cannot bounce), but she was clearly writing out the rest as regular personal checks. I assume she was making them out to cash?

Last night would have been a good time for Lisa's ghost to show up. Oh well. Another missed opportunity.

Susanlynn: "Do people usually plan visits from their kids on their honeymoons" well, they did on the Brady Bunch but I'm not sure if people should use that as their role model.

"Fer is wearing a tee shirt that says "Needie.")" Uh, I meant to highlight that of one of those things you're good at, dy - noticing visual details. I guess the Sassy Teen Girls Fashion Store was out of "Spoiled Brat" shirts? (Though I can't say she's been bratty lately.)

I noticed last night that besides her usual nervous ticks of smoothing her hair and flapping her hands next to her head, Grace also placed her open hand under her nose four or five times ..runny nose?? ....snorting drugs? ...allergies??...a cold??? Brace yourself , Grace! The ride is going to get even bumpier. She cannot possibly believe that she can wiggle out of Juan's grasp and proceed with the wedding and the takeover of Lisa's life. Denial is not just a Rio in Egypt. Keep calm and carry on, Grace. You are spinning off your axle .

Maybe she thought her nose was bleeding! You'd think something would burst from all that stress.

Oh, I forgot ! I always read the daily cryotoquote in my local newspaper . Yesterday's was : "You should eat a waffle ! You can't be sad if you eat a waffle!---Lauren Myracle. I think that is sound advice for Grace and for all of us as we approach the finale with varying degrees of fear and trepidation. #leggomyeggo #yourewelcome

Hey, all...this is a little off topic, but I just discovered who Sofia Castro (FerBrat) really is (yes, I'm a little slow). Now I understand previous commentary regarding he "connections." No wonder she plays the "brat" so well!

Angelica Rivera's and Jose A. Castro's daughter
veronica Castro's niece
Christian Casro's cousin
AND the Mexican President's step-daughter

Wowsers!! What a faaaammiiiilyyy. I wonder if she gave her mother as hard a time when she married El Presidente!

RC

'Scuse all the typos...I was writing quickly

RC

Julie..that is another possibility. I hate when my nose runs while I am teaching . I usually casually reach in my purse to get a tissue, but I have noticed that people in telenovela land never use a tissue or hanky. Oh well,Let's see if she does it again tonight. It could be a drinking game. I still have not bought a bottle of wine, but I have lemonade.

P.s.If I were making as much noise in a locked room, my fammmiilllyyy would knock down the door.

I thought that t-shirt said "needle", since "Needie" would be a misspelling.

Anyway, I came to the conclusion that Miguel also needs a shrink. He clearly prefers confident, strong women but still feels a need to be a protector. Women like Luciana and Erika are very independent and can mostly take care of themselves. They both had good fathers who valued them and their achievements. The only area in life where they lacked anything was in romance, as both were comparatively inexperienced in that.

I don't think that Miguel would have made any big deal out of either of them not being a virgin, but he has protective instincts that are over-developed. He will make a good father someday, but might be sufficiently overprotective as a partner to drive away his ladylove (whomever she will be).

Funny, Urban - I was going to suggest that Miguel get counseling, too. Not only to deal with his hyperprotective instincts, but his obsession with Luciana as well. It'd be only his problem if he could keep a lid on it, but he can't and he's making his "beloved" miserable.

Or maybe he isn't. I didn't like the way last night's episode ended! What does she mean by she needs his help forgetting David? Is she agreeing to be his girlfriend? Or is she just going to ask him to whack her in the head to induce amnesia?

So... does anyone else think it's odd that Juan still hasn't shown or mentioned Deathphone #1 to Grace yet? I don't think this is a loose end or red herring - there's got to be something good on there. Maybe something we don't even know about, maybe a bunch of ugly texts that Grace sent to Lisa, or something like that?

I know we will find out in less than a week, but I'm impaaaaaatient. And needie.

I think NoJuan pawned Plot Phone #1 to buy that bottle of Crown.

Well, to quote Cesar..so long. Pretty soon some way, some how this whole hot mess is going to get wrapped. up..one way or another.

Juan has two missions now...revenge against both Dave for his father and Grace for Perla. That is his whole raison d'etre.

As to the original cellphone of doom, the writers had better not think that we have forgotten the big deal they made about that phone.

I cannot wait to see how the final showdown between Juan and DisGraced plays out. Will she protect Dave from Juan? (Nah..too self-centered to really love anyone). How will each person affected by the big reveal react...Dave, Lilian,Booboo, Fern?

KIRBY--It was your throwing in the fence thing that confused me. I know about the free milk, hehe.

Tee Hee. It is a regional thing. I grew up on the poor side of the mountain.

Counseling or no counseling. Miguel is just a sniveling little toe sucking pansie. I bet he has never TOUCHED a football. There are other ways to make a woman love you besides BEGGING Night and Day.

Susanlynn--I couldn't find where Lila said the writers don't like strong men either, so if she did, I apologize for overwriting and stepping on her lines. But regardless, we all know that's the TRUTH.

You are right. No animals. Boooby didn't even have a dog. With responsibility for a pet, kids learn responsibility. Although in this case, I bet Marta would have ended up taking care of the dog. Lil and Gracie would have banished it to the bodega for shedding, barking, pooping, eating and smelling bad between baths.

I hope tonight we see more DisGallows and JuanFlewOverTheCrayCrayNest and Less Marta and Migg the Beggar.

I want to see what that Crazo little Whacker will dream up tonight. Between her and NoJuan it is like trying to predict how many ants in an ant hill.

Who will make the first bold move next? Will a check bounce?
Did she even have the first Mill?
Does Dave have an extra Million laying around not working?
Some businesses do not keep much more money liquid than to cover normal expenses and a small emergency. Otherwise it is working somehow.
Will Lillian finally have enough of her Beserko Evil Space Robot spawn and try to get it out of her?
Will NoJuan in his raqe torment DisGulp mercilessly just for the fun of making her pay for Perla?
Will BooBee get to the eleventh level of Zombie killing tonight?

FWIW--If anyone wants a different version of K2R, check this out. Here she was paired with Eugenio Siller in Quien es Quien. Sweet, confused, strong, willing but not gullible.

...toesucking . ..let me think about that for a minute. Was that an insult or a compliment? I will get back to you.

Nina--I'm with you on the money bit. The first thing I thought of as DG was making out checks to Juan (loved the Cuckoo's Nest reference!) was that banks are supposed to report to the IRS any check over $10,000--or is that still in effect? Of course, by the time he gets to ANY bank he'll probably know the checks are going to bounce. We didn't actually see David counting out a million dollars in cash and giving them to her, did we? If the checks are good, who would cash personal checks to him without an account.

Sorry, I'm overthinking where the writers have been underthinking.

If you mean me, Susanlynn, neither. At this stage of affairs in Winoland, we are all quoting each other. Think no more about it.

Sorry, I'm overthinking where the writers have been underthinking.

Wouldn't banks be on the alert about Juan by now? He'd be an idiot to have any checks written to his real name.

Toesucking is just meant in a clean way to denote Waaaay Abbeynormal needs with respect to women.

And I put an Avatar of a darling little sweet birdie having a nice bath on a hot Florida day in a nice pretty birdiebath.

I assume Juan has account(s) under one or more assumed names that he set up quite some time ago when he was embezzling from David.

Anita: "banks are supposed to report to the IRS any check over $10,000--or is that still in effect" Banks have to report any cash deposit greater than 10K, to be aware of entities that might be laundering money.

True Grace's personal checks could bounce, but if they do, Deathphone 2 will make some calls.

And birdie is sweet.

Urban. Exactly....
It is going to be almost impossible for a lone human to do anything with any kind of currency except for cash, and that in small quantities only. If he still had Perla or SkidMark or some helper who might cash them or something, but there are going to be cameras everywhere besides Sonoma.

They have already frozen his bank accounts and foreclosed on his land.

Dy77, udderly deliciously stupidness.
Like your recap girl.So how dumb is david? No really how dumb is he? Why the he'll does he want to know if she
Still lovez(he don't deserve an "s") him? Is he going to call off that joke
Of wedding from hell? And seriously y'all them younguns ain't that happy.
Lucy is right, raise her kids to fight
For love, it's worth it duncevid. And
Talkin to poor dead Lisa ain't heplin.

And how y'all know that's crown royal he drinkin?Lol,that could be wine from
The incompetent vineyard of doom. And
Thatz making him feel worst.I know,Im
Just funin y'all. But the way his luck
Is goin he should be drinkin crown royal, southern comfort, a volcano and
Whatever else he can get a buzz from.

Miguel should stop tryin to get Lucy to fall in love with him. It ain't gonna be. He can be patient, but no not
Gonna happen. And marta need to stop pushin it. The heart wants what the
Heart wants. Davs heart wants lucy, and
Lucy's heart wants dav, migs heart want lucy. I know David is dumb n such, but
I'd like to see him and lucy together.
HAPPY. Maybe he'll smarten up? Maybe?
It's the way of the love story. O well
Them advances are too telling,so I won't. 5 minutes and counting.

Thank you dy77.

Wow thank you everyone :) It's been fun!

Woo Hoo fun in Sonoma Wiggin Out wit Lilly.

S1 EP41, thank you for the hilarious post, especially about Dum-vid. I am done watching, it was excruciating...
