Vino el Amor #140 (Univision 129); Thursday, May 4, 2017: Vino la Verdad (The truth has arrived!)

[This is my last recap for the series. I have very much enjoyed this group of followers and all the comments. You all have been great. Hope that many of you join us for “La Candidata” when it begins.]

Repeated scene: Luciana arrives in front of David’s office in hopes of talking with him. But before she even can get close to the door, she sees David and DisGrace together, locked in embrace, kissing each other. In tears, she runs out.

DisGrace is in semi-meltdown and asks why the papers he was supposed to sign weren’t on his desk. She is wondering now if he just said he needed to go to his office to sign something just to be alone and get away from her. Dave says, “That isn’t true, Susan was supposed to leave some papers here.” Grace begins her frantic little act again and starts acting very insecure and tells David how much she loves him and kisses him some more.

Lilian arrives at the Santa Barbara Vineyard to see Adolfo because she wants to borrow money from him. He asks her how much she needs and she says a million dollars. Adolfo says he doesn’t have that much but he will see what he can do, calling in some other accounts to get a half million for her.

Marta arrives at the celebration for Sonia and León and she congratulates them and tells them they will make a lovely family. Sonia tells Marta she promises to love León forever. Marta gives them good advice to always love each other and be patient with each other. “I know the whole world says this, but never go to bed angry”, says Marta. “I know that you will both be very happy together.”

At this point, Miguel, still feeling upset gets up with his beer and leaves the table. Marta takes notice of this and walks up to him. She tells him to be patient with Luciana. She explains that it may not be that he is meant to be with Luciana as a couple or may be only as just friends. Miguel says he can’t bear to lose Luciana again. He is frustrated with their relationship and not having his feelings returned to him the way he wants.

Carito also noticed that Miguel got up from the table, so she gets up to go talk with him. Miggy asks her how she is feeling and Carito says she is never going to forgive Juan for Perla’s death. Miguel tells Carito she will one day come out ahead. Then she turns the tables on him and gives him advice regarding what has been happening with Luciana. She tells him it is just not fair for him to be worrying about Luciana and the “patrón.” She says, “Miguel, please don’t take this the wrong way. I like Luciana and I get along with her well now. You can’t live your life protecting her. And what about you? Who takes care of you? Don’t let your life go by just pining away for her. You deserve to be with someone who feels the same way about you.”

Luciana, walking through the vineyard, cries out as to speak to her father, who is always with her in her heart. She asks his forgiveness and says she has to leave that vineyard behind because David broke her heart. She asks her father to help her so that she won’t hurt so much.

David, still in his office with DisGrace, calls Susan and asks her why the paperwork isn’t there. She finds an excuse to tell him about running out without it and realizes that her plan fell through. She calls Luciana who is still crying. Lu tells her how she came and saw them embraced and kissing. Susan tries to comfort her and tell her to come to her brother’s celebration. When she gets off the phone, Cesar, who is there too, wants to know what happened with his bitter old friend David.

Evening falls and Lilian comes to DisGrace’s room. (Grace is sitting on the bed kind of rocking herself back and forth.) DisGrace says, “What do you want, Mother?” Lil says, “I came to save you from your problems that you are involved with.” Grace asks, “What did you do?” Lil tells her, “Look at your account dear, you ought to have a half million dollars in there now.” Grace picks up her tablet to check it out. She is overjoyed to find the money is there. DisGrace hugs Lil and asks how she did it. Lil says, never mind, it’s not important. But Lil reminds her it’s just a LOAN and she needs to pay her back after she and David are married. Most of all Lil tells Grace that she is her daughter and loves her.

Luciana arrives at the celebration. Miguel notices and still looks angry. Lu congratulates and wishes León and Sonia a lot of happiness. She comes to Susan, they hug and Lu tells her she does believe now that David does love DisGrace. Lu talks to Marta and tells her that she hopes the day comes that when she can say David’s name without a lot of pain. Lu says too, she feels badly about the things she said to Miguel. “I’ve lost the love of my life, because he’s getting married tomorrow and at the same time, I’ve lost my best friend.”

DisGrace calls Juan and he says, “I hope you have some good news for me.” Grace says she does a half million for him and that she will get the rest very soon. Juan is happy to hear that and says, “See how fast you were able to get it? But still, you lack another half million. When are you going to get that?” She promises to have the rest of the money right after the wedding. Juan says, “Umm-humm…well, I’ll be waiting.”

David is in his room and looks wistful. He sighs a couple of times and there is a knock at the door. It’s DisGrace coming to give him a goodnight kiss. She gives him the rundown on how they will be married by this time tomorrow and how excited she is. She tells him that everything she does for him, she does out of love and wants him to be happy with her. As she leaves, she says, “David, I love you.” He just looks at her and does not reciprocate the “I love you.”

There is a montage of the following: Bobby lays out his clothes for the wedding, as well as Fernanda. Miguel misses Erica and kisses her picture. Luciana comes in and he just walks right past her. DisGrace gets out her wedding gown. Sonia and León are together and they admire her engagement ring happily. Luciana cries about David. David looks at his belt buckle and leather wristband and says, “Adios, Luciana.”

Marta is cleaning the SB Vineyard office (AKA the MPR) and Miguel walks in. Miguel is still complaining about Luciana still pining for David. Marta advises him to be more patient and listen to Luciana. He leaves and a few minutes later Luciana walks in crying again. She is crying because she knows the wedding is that day and wonders what it is that Grace can offer David that she can’t. Marta says she is still very young and life will go on for her and tells her how hard it is to have a good relationship with a man who already has children. Still, Lu says, “Maybe I should just take off and go to Mexico.” She continues crying. Marta says that is not the answer and she needs to talk to Miguel and make up with him. She also needs to find a way to forget all about David.

At Casa Robles, DisGrace is ready to get married and is all dressed up in her beautiful wedding gown.  Fernanda comes in and tells her she looks beautiful and how excited she is that they are finally getting married. She also says she feels better that Grace will be there taking care of things while she is at the university. She also adds that she knows that she will do things the way her mother would have done them. But you can tell, Grace isn’t happy to hear that one!

At the employees’ house, Ramón, León, Tano, and Carito are all ready for the wedding. León makes note that he knows that David does not really love Grace, he really loves Luciana. Carito also knows that the Patrón and Grace don’t belong together.

David, Bobby, and Fernanda gather together before the wedding. Fernanda remarks how handsome David looks. He tells her that she looks very lovely too. Bobby tells him that he’s ready too. They talk about being a happy family and David tells them all he wants is their happiness. Fernanda says she loves him with all her heart. Then she takes off to go see the wedding guests.

The justice of the peace arrives and David shows him where to wait. Adolfo arrives too and Lilian greets him. He tells her not to worry about the money and if she can’t come up with paying him back they can talk then.

David comes up and then says that Grace is running late and asks Lil to check on her. Grace is admiring herself in the mirror cooing about marrying David. Then there is a knock on the door. Grace says, “I’m ready!” The knock comes again and Grace says, “I told you, I’m ready.” She continues admiring herself in the mirror. Well it turns out that the visitor happens to be Juan Tellez himself. He walks in and she is at first unaware who it is and until she sees him in the mirror.

He says, “Well, what a beautiful bride!” She turns around, shocked as she can be and says, “What are you doing here? I already gave you an advance.” Juan says, “I wouldn’t miss this day for anything.”
“Are you crazy? The police will catch you.”
“No, there are too many wedding guests.”
“Juan, I told you I would get you a deposit tomorrow.”
“But I told you I wanted the money BEFORE the wedding started. Do you have it?”
“No.”
“Well then, I’m going to tell David the truth.”
“But you told me you were going to wait.”
“I never told you anything of the kind.”
“I promise that tomorrow I’ll have it for you.”
“No Graciela, if you hadn’t murdered Perla, maybe I would have waited. But you murdered the only person I had who loved me.”
“Why don’t you hide up here and when the wedding is over and I have signed on the dotted line, I’ll invent an excuse to come up here and we can talk again.”
“No Grace, I don’t trust you anymore.”
“But Juan, you already have part of the money!”
“I’m sorry, but it is not sufficient! I am going to tell your mother so you can get the rest of the money.”

DisGrace goes for her jewelry box and starts pulling out jewelry to give Juan.

Juan says, “No, I want CASH!’ He starts demanding the rest of the money and asks her how she would like it if everyone found out she was a murderer? At this point DisGrace is starting to have another meltdown. Juan continues, “Give me the money, and I will leave here.”

“Juan, let me get married and then I will get back to you on this.”
“No, then you need to talk to your future husband about this.”
“Are you crazy?”
“No, I’m not crazy, in fact I think it’s a very good idea. In fact, you’d better hurry it up before all your guests decide to leave.”
“I can’t go out and talk to David.”
“I am not playing games with you Grace when I told you I wanted all the money today. I’m sorry.”
“Please don’t do this to me.” I’ll get you the money.”

Downstairs, Fernanda is worried why Tía Grace hasn’t come down yet. David tells her that her grandmother already went up to check on her.

Juan and DisGrace continue arguing about the money. He gets physical and throws DisGrace down on the bed. Then Lilian walks in. Lil asks, “So what are you doing here?”
“How nice of you to come, Lilian. I’m here to prevent your daughter from getting married.”

León, Sonia, Ramón and Tano are waiting in the patio for the wedding. Ramón wishes that he had Marta with him. But they all know how Lilian would pitch a fit if Marta were to show up. Sonia asks León if he has spoken with Luciana. He says he did, but this is very difficult on Lu. Sonia agrees and says, “It must be very difficult to know that the one you love is going to marry someone else.”

Fernanda gets Tano’s attention and tells him how worried she is about Grace not being downstairs yet. He tells her to calm down and says she seems more nervous than her father. She explains that after the ceremony, they are supposed to have a big reception and it can’t be late. She sends a text to Grace telling her they are all waiting.

Upstairs in DisGrace’s room, Lil asks what “that imbecile” is talking about. She looks at Juan and tells him to leave her alone and let her get married. Juan laughs and says, “Yes, I know you think you are being a good mother, but not even you can save her from this one. You too, need to know what reality is.” Lil says, “Well what are you talking about?” At this point DisGrace starts melting down again and tells her mother not to listen, even trying to put her hands over Lilian’s ears.

Lil says they are not going to play along with Juan’s blackmail any longer. “I’m not going even give you one more dollar!”

But Juan is going to play is trump card with Lilian and pulls out the phone to show Lilian the video of DisGrace shooting poor Perla in cold blood. Lil watches in disbelief. She says in tears, “What is this Grace?”

Downstairs in the patio, Fernanda is still worried. So she tells David she is going to go up there to see what is wrong. The other guests are just waiting around.

Lilian is shocked and asks Grace for an explanation. Juan explains for her about the gun and how Grace planned to shoot him but ended up killing Perla instead. But Juan presses her about how she has paid for his silence all these years. Juan yells at Grace to tell her mother the truth and DisGrace refuses.

“Alright, I will tell her. Lisa didn’t die in an accident the way everyone thinks she did. Grace murdered Lisa!” As DisGrace looks up at her mother, she has a look on her face that is unrepentant and guilty as sin itself.

Cynthia, thank you so much for this recap and all your recaps. I always looked forward to reading them, and I appreciate all the time, talent, and effort that you put into them.

Grace does make a beautiful bride. I liked her hairstyle, and the gown was gorgeous, especially the back. Well, that just goes to show you that you can't judge a book by its cover. Such a lovely exterior, but inside a stone cold heart. Kim has been doing a wonderful job . I could feel her desperation . She is not going to make it to her ultimate goal..marrying Moby Dave. Only two more episodes to go to watch them all fall down.

Oh Thank You Thank You Cynthia. Your screenshot of DisGrace as she looks at her Mom without her mask for the first time was the best.

Whiny little toe-sucker Miggy could not even sit at the engagement party table.
He had to make a very obvious exit and go stand by himself (6 feet from his chair) and pick his ass and look miserable.

Can any of rthese people not let it forkin go for a second and it be about ANYBODY but their miserable self inflicted misery.?

Just shoot yourself for crimmidy.

So LooLoo can't work at either vineyard comfortably? Well it is time to M O V E. Listen up LoserHottie did you make NO friends all those years you were deported? It is time for another deportation in the name of an intervention. Now go somewhere and make some fricking friends.

How many more times must we sit through LooLoo trying once again to cry on camera and tell somebody, anybody how much she luuuurrrves Duuud? It looks to me kinda like loving root canals.

She and Miglet are getting on my last nerve. When the Joker shows up I hope there are a few extra casualties.

A wedding dress see through in the back down to the crack of her ass? N I C E

Now Lillian knows about Lisa and Perla, will she believe it about Lisa? And everyone is getting nervous about the time.

Cynthia, beautifully written.

The screen shots were wonderful, but the unmasking of Grace in the last shot was perfection. "As DisGrace looks up at her mother, she has a look on her face that is unrepentant and guilty as sin itself". Sensational.

I did not expect Juan to show up nor did I expect last night to play out the way it did. I am actually going to say the confrontation scene was well written.

I have no idea what Graciela can say to defend herself, but what a defining moment for Lilian. Will she throw Graciela to Juan the wolf, or, in will she try and somehow save her remaining, murderous, deceitful daughter? I can't imagine the thoughts that are swirling in her head.

I'm not going to comment on what happens next although I think the preview was a definite spoiler.

"He is frustrated with their relationship and not having his feelings returned to him the way he wants". When Luci walked into the multipurpose room (after David broke her heart, yet again), Miguel stood up and walked out without a word. Cold. Icy cold.

I agree with you Kirby that a few of these characters need to ask themselves it if can "be about ANYBODY but their miserable self inflicted miser?"

"Marta says that is not the answer and she needs to talk to Miguel and make up with him". Yes. But not apologize. She has done nothing wrong. She let him down gently and the man refuses to see the truth.

“I’ve lost the love of my life, because he’s getting married tomorrow and at the same time, I’ve lost my best friend.” Miguel did not need to pile the guilt on now.

I liked Julie's scenario of yesterday where Luci leaves and runs into a Sebastian Rulli type. I so dislike the idea of David running into her open arms after the sky falls on him.

"Moby Dave" - thanks Susanlynn!

Cynthia, your recaps have been a breath of fresh air on a smoggy day. Thank you for everything!

Diana

After last night I wonder: Since NoJuan relieved her of her shootin iron, did DisGlock think to go get a replacement or is she back to Rocks for her weapon of choice? A gun fits her purse better.

I was trying to look around while the circus was going on and I didn't see any 'Landscape Stones" she might have brought up to her room to evaluate for the reception.

When, if ever, will she finally stop lying and either STFU or fess up. I suppose NoJuan is willing to destroy himself as collateral damage while destroying DisGrace and Dave at this stage of his game. When you have lost it all, your money, your land, the only human on earth who gave a fig about you, soon your feedom, you really think you have no reason to save yourself. And it will be for the best, everyone will be better off including NoJuan if he is just dead.

I can't wait (without Ice Cream) for the goat rodeo upstairs to begin oozing downstairs. You can probably time it in seconds, not minutes how long before this toxic waste in the off white gown begins to contaminate the other participants and guests. I was surprised how readily Lillian took the news that the plague she unleashed on humanity is a serial murderer. Is she shocked or proud?

Happy Friday All, especially You Cynthia, what a writer you are.

Absolutely awesome for last night and throughout Cynthia. Hard to say just how much it is appreciated.

It was almost worth sitting through 56 minutes for the last 4. The writers, director and especially the seasoned big name actors (especially you Soto) should be ashamed of themselves and bow down and kiss Kimberly"s buttocks for saving them. I went back and watched that last scene 4 times. AWESOME

Hated punk ass Miguel from the start and hate puck ass Miguel at the end.

David seems happy and eagerly anticipate the sad. Carito put her finger on it when she told everyone that Graciela was convenient for David to marry though he may love Luciana. If you want measured, wise advise Luciana stop talking to your mother and Susan and speak to Carito.

Tofie did you enjoy the way he went off by himself, but in plain open sight at the get together for Leon and Sonia.

Like a four year old. Punk assed is exactly the words I could not think of above.

For all his 'muscles' he is like the guys we used to beat up in junior high. I hate him too. He needs a blow up doll and an a big picture of Luci.

tofie, I actually think it was worth sitting through 56 minutes for the last 4 :)

I think the one uplifting side to all this is that Kimberly has a very bright future before her.

And yes, who thought Carito would turn into the voice of reason?

The way they shot her and Miguel at Lion and Sonia's party, I thought...here it comes. They are probably getting together at some point.

Diana

KDR could almost play a part where she only uses her facial expressions and does not speak.
If the rest of her works as well as her face----------- Hell I'll marry her !

:-)
kj

Thank you, Cynthia, for this and all you STELLAR recaps and screenshots!

WOW! Agree, that last scene and the look on Graciela's face when she looked at Lil! That look should have sent a major shiver up Lil's spine if not a lightening bolt to her heart! She knew Grace was no angel but to learn she's a cold blooded killer, including she murdered her own sister and LIED and deceived her and everyone all this time! That would scare the fudge right out of me!

Thank you, Kirby at 7:04 for that wonderful summary that speaks my thoughts and feelings as well. Thanks tofie at 7:45: K2R SLAYED this role and this show! Leon and Sonia were the love story in this thing, everyone else's stories were about stubborn self-centeredness, masochism, emotional immaturity and undiagnosed intellectual impairment. The main story was about maniacal obsession and brilliant psychosis and how it almost got it's way. Well done, Kimberly. I almost wish Grace DID get away with it. As Susanlynn has said, I hate David, I have absolutely NO RESPECT for his so-called sacrifice of love for his children and again, go read Kirby's first comment re how Loo Loo needs to get a cloo.

More later. If you wanted a love story, the writers broke one off in us. If you wanted the story of a masterful dominatrix and puppet master, this was it. Well done, K2R.

Happy Cinco de Mayo a todos!

Your "If you wanted a love story, the writers broke one off in us. If you wanted the story of a masterful dominatrix and puppet master, this was it. Well done, K2R" blew me away Lila.

Once the truth emerges, it can't be submerged again. Lili is devastated and I can't wait to see what she is going to do.

Diana

Diana said: " Lili is devastated and I can't wait to see what she is going to do."

What Lillian should do is look at her daughter and realize whether she likes it or not, they are both the very same, DisGone is just at the next level, like the Amway Platinum member level, while Lillian is just Gold. Keep working on it you miserable old sow and you will get there.

Or you can have a typical TN epiphany and for once look in the mirror and see yourself.

When will Adolfo notice that he probably owns a time share in San Diego? If NoJuan is half as clever as he thought he was, they will never find that mill and a half, I'd bet that is not even addressed, as the Plot phone#1 has evaporated.

BTW I saw an ad on LooneyVision which said Gran Final Monday at 8, 7 Central. I took that to imply 8 Eastern time. Did anyone else see that or was I seeing things?

Kirby, the finale is indeed scheduled for 8 Eastern Monday (according to my Looneyvision schedule).

I didn't realize it was a million and a half. I thought she "just" gave him the half mil Lili came up with. I fear you may be right in that the money will be left floating out there somewhere...I hope not as I'd hate Adolfo to lose all that money. He's lost enough already.

And yeah, where IS "Plot phone#1"???? I was shocked that Juan made the accusation about Gracie killing Lisa with no physical evidence. I thought Gracie would go into another hysterical snit. But the biggest shock is that Gracie looked guilty as sin which is essence made her acknowledge she did it. No denial.

Can't wait to see what happens.

Diana

Thanks, Diana! Once again, I was so jazzed up after yesterday's episode. It's as if I had one of those fidget spinners in the middle of my chest. Mr. Lila got home right at that point and one would have thought I had been taken over by the (un)holy spirit: YES!!YES!! I shouted! No, it wasn't the wedding-crashing reveal many of us imagined but it still is in a way. What, indeed, is going to be Lil's reaction? How is this explosive turn of events going to be shared with the faaaamily!!! Well, when hot fudge is cooking, the smell wafts through the house and soon it will.

We have invested so much in this show and they have disappointed me so much, I will not let Looney Vision deprive me of the element of surprise as well so I REFUSE to look at previews and if they were openly discussed on the Patio, I'd be outta here! Can't wait for tonight!

Hey, y'all: From what you've seen so far, does this look like a MILLION DOLLAR WEDDING? It may not be worth that much, but the "entertainment" will!

You know what, Diana? I think these writers couldn't figure out how anything of significance could be on plot phone#1. It was old, low on battery power and pointing up at the sky when Lisa was rocked. It feels like they had wanted phone #1 to be an incriminating blockbuster phone of doom for DG but it fizzled so they just slid in SHO NUFF INCRIMINATING BLOCKBUSTER PHONE OF DOOM #2 and hoped we'd forgotten about the first one. . . liiiike we're supposed to forget about Dr. Evil drugging Furbrain and easily manipulating Dumbass into choosing DisGoingToHellFaSho!

So..after showing us the plotphone in the SPECIAL WOODEN KEEPSAKE BOX, we are never going to see it again. No explanation??? Then, why did they show it? Did the writers suddenly decide that there could be no real incriminating evidence on it, so they went to plan B...real evidence ...recording Grace shooting Perla. I recently read a writing rule that if you show a gun in chapter one, someone has to use that gun by chapter three. I guess the writers don't know that rule ...or maybe any writing rules. That is muy frustrating.

If the plot phone has been conveniently forgotten, what chance do we have of all those secrets bring revealed..Dr. Evil's collaboration with Grace and manipulation of both Fern and Dave...Lilian as Juan's partner in defrauding Dave????

I won't miss Lu's crying. Basta. Irina has to work on that. It was hard to watch.

I really wish that I hadn't watched the previews...spoilers.

I think that Carito consoling Miguel is setting the scene for them ending up together. She will probably appreciate his protection .

Yeah, Susanlynn, I think the answer to all your questions is a big ole fat YES! Just another way we wuz robbed!

I cannot believe that Adolfo gave that half mil to Lilian with no questions asked. Wow, that was so easy. Is he a billionaire? The vineyard must be doing even better than we thought it was. Miguel is going to be loaded. Carito's ship has just docked.

Thank you, Cynthia, for a great recap--and the screencaps are amazing. My hat's off to all the recappers and commenters for making this TN tolerable.

I agree with everyone--the last 4 minutes of the episode were worth tolerating the previous 56 minutes.

Kirby, I too, was puzzled by Lillian's reaction when she saw the video. I thought, for sure, she would at least jump or gasp when the shot was fired. And afterwards, it seemed like she was dumbfouded..and I thought she would have gone into a screaming frenzy.

Migs moping and Luci's crying--ya basta!! If I had gone crying to my mother, she would have have told me to just stop!! and would have started cussing out Dud-vid.

Trivial observation: Ferbrat practiced her hairstyle so much that she messed it up--not impressive at all.

RC

I kept looking for Bobby. Bet he's at the gate waiting on his prize or does he go looking for Graciela too?

Bobby gonna hamstring Gracie's ass! Hahahahahha!

RC..yes,messy hair is evidently a thing now. I did like Fern's gown.

Uh oh..what are the chances that Booboo's hero Cristiano is going to walk into this hot mess?..Grace has been too stressed out to make that call or , perhaps, she was just lying about that like everything else in her life. Grace, you dummy, you were pretty and talented , and you threw it all away.

Great job, Cynthia.

As to the missing Plot Phone #1 I think I know the answer. It was in a Keepsake Box because that's all it was for Juan, who claimed to have been in love with Lisa. We all knew that it was unlikely to have anything incriminating on it and most of us have seen enough DisGraceful meltdowns to know that Juan wouldn't have needed it to bring one on.

I'm disappointed that there weren't more witnesses. She deserves a very public outing of her crimes. However, since it wouldn't have been remotely realistic for Juan to know enough of the guest list or their phone numbers he could not have done a group call to distribute the murder video.

I will, however, concede that the wedding dress is one of the best I've ever seen in a novela. Lillian is wearing black which surprised me, but the dress is an appropriate style and her jewelry also is tasteful for that time of day.

Totally agree that the ending facial expression is completely on the money.

UA: What's Graciela's last name by the way ?

Susanlynn: I'm happy for Carito & Miguel being together :)

Lila, I am also very frustrated by the disappearance of the plot phone. I wonder if Juan took it with him when they vacated in a hurry, waiting to spring yet another unpleasant surprise on David??

Urban, while you are likely right that the phone didn't have evidence on it, I dislike the way the writers tantalized us with it, having Perla find it. I'm sure the writers don't realize that as a collective group, the patio does not forget.

tofie, I kept expecting to see Bobby springing into the room. Hopefully, he will be spared - for the moment. And yes, is Cristiano going to show? Susanlynn, I wonder if she did make the call? When I saw him lining up the items he wanted him to autograph, my heart sank. But then again, if he did appears, that would certainly appease Bobby for a few moments.

RC "dumbfounded" is a great description for Lili's reaction,

Is it wrong that I think Bobby shouldn't be told Graciela killed his mother? I don't know how a child could process and live with that. While I think Fer has the right to know, I cringe at what she is going to do.

Diana

Thank you, Cynthia! It has been a pleasure recapping with you. Extra thanks for doing double-duty, two nights a week without missing a beat.

“I know the whole world says this, but never go to bed angry”, says Marta. Hey Marta, can I add something to that? Never go to bed with people outside your marriage, either. Angry or not.

Lil is quite the helpful and loving mommy. My mom wouldn't give me half a million dollars for a blackmail payment, even if I had a GOOD explanation.

I had to laugh when Fernanda said she was glad Grace would be taking care of things while she was at university. She's said that before, too. Exactly what duties does she think Grace will need to take on in Fernanda's absence?

Maybe Luciana needs to find an all-women's vineyard. Or start one herself. Lulu's Vineyard for Lovelorn Ladies.

I did not notice Grace's butt-crack, but I will pay attention tonight!

Kirby: "I can't wait for the goat rodeo upstairs to begin oozing downstairs." Sooner or later, you're going to have to try your hand at recapping so that we can read more nuggets like that one. (Even if it was a mixed metaphor, or perhaps goat rodeos do begin to ooze after a while?)

Lila, yes I laughed when I realized the wedding would be held at the vineyard. The only way this could be a million dollar wedding (actually, a regular wedding plus a million over budget) would be if they handed out gold bricks as party favors. Handy for bonking your loved ones on the head with.

I'm not happy that Deathphone1 seems to have fallen through the cracks. I can live with Urban's rationalization, but it's not supposed to be OUR job to tie up loose ends!

D'oh - ice cream!! I'd better not forget!

Diana, it would be nice if Bobby didn't have to know that his aunt killed his mother, but it is the kind of thing that will end up in the newspaper. (Remember, Grace is a famous enough artist that people actually attended her ridiculous press conference.) There is a good chance the kids at school will know about it from their parents and will mention it to him, possibly in an unkind way. It is much better if Bobby hears it from his father and sister first.

Diana..that is a good point about protecting Bob from the harsh truth. What would it serve at his age for him to know? It will be hard enough for the adults to try to process. I hope that he is spared from this awful news until he is older and more prepared to deal with it.

The bride wore white (uff) , and the mother of the bride wore black (foreshadowing?).

And so onward we march toward the bitter end hoping that some of these folks will end up better ...and that the fickle finger of fate will be pointed at others! Hello, karma. Where are you?

Julie...now that is good advice !!!!

Julie...you are also right about Bob finding out about it through others. I guess he has to know about it , and then, he should receive counseling but.....not from Martin Mull's doppelganger. You are a wise lass. Unlike Juan who is a wiseass. (Ha. Autocorrect turned wiseass to "disease"!!!!)

Julie...FYI..That Kirby ..tsk tsk...such an instigator. I am dialing the assistant principal right now.I think that there was a fabric flower strategically placed at that particular point.

Also...I wonder if Kirby is as good at mixing drinks as he is at mixing those metaphors??! Happy Cinco de Mayo, all. Where is my mojito???

I thought Lillian said her last name was "Smith" when she met some reporters outside the sheriff's office.

So, perhaps Grace Smith is her name, but that name doesn't sound realistic.

Lila, she gave him a million dollars in checks at gunpoint, then gave him that half from A-Dunce-O.

I think Smith was Lil's maiden name and she uses it now because it's not hispanic/latino.

Bobby is a bit "slow" like his dad so don't think he could process his aunt killing mommy unless mommy's head looked like a soccer ball. Fernanda is the person I want to know, she's one of the bad guys and deserves some type of punishment for holding the whole house hostage.

Cynthia - thank you for all your recaps! You went out in fine style on this one!

Gracie looks really pretty in her wedding gown. I also thought Lilian looked pretty.

Having seen the two-hour finale via a stream when it aired in Mexico, pretty sure it will begin tonight and spread into Monday. If so, don't miss the very first few minutes. (Zips lip now).

Although he's naive and looks younger, Bobby is 11 years old. He's a smart kid and should know the truth. It should come from David immediately after a call to the school psychologist to request an emergency house call. Cesar should also call Dr Ramos.

Remember what happened to little Valentina in AQNMD after her parents were murdered? That should not be allowed to happen to Bobby. Someone needs to contact his school to tell the appropriate people that he would be out for a day or two and that they will need to address this situation.

OK OK Maybe not all the way down to her butt crak, but Waaaaay below where her tramp stamp should be.

I want to say Graciela's last name (as per, IIRC, the episode where Luciana was supposed to give a speech and she sabotaged her) is Palacios. Like with Lilian "Smith," though, her surname has at last recall only ever been used...once? (Then again, that's been remarkably consistent with a lot of the characters on this show. Hell, Sonia's last name wasn't even known until the episode before this one.)

(slow claps for Cynthia) Thank you for your service, madame, to a show that absolutely did not deserve it.

That said...okay, the end of the penultimate episode of this fakakta show was genuinely good and--Juan somehow making it into the house and to Graciela's room undetected notwithstanding--pretty darn sane. Juan and Graciela's third go-round over the blackmail money led to Lilian being exposed to Plot Phone II and Graciela murdering Perla, and that in turn was the opening for the bombshell about Dead Lisa. If anything, the cutoff point made sure that it was still more about Graciela and Juan--considering most of Lilian's prior freakouts, the one she had over Plot Phone II was surprisingly restrained. (I'm assuming Azela Robinson gets to make up for it tonight.) But Kimberly Dos Ramos...oh, that moment at the end of the ep where Graciela finally showed her true face to her mother...assuming she's indeed sticking with Televisa for a while, I do hope an EP with actually sane writers has been watching this. Out of the entire cast, she's the one who most deserves and has earned a novela do-over.

Somehow I missed what Carito said to Miguel during his stomp-off-with-my-beer hissyfit, so reading that now just makes it seem that much more obvious that she, now that she's finally been redeemed, is finally going to get her man in the end. She might deserve better than being Miguel's third-place trophy, but again...this show...

Diana's suggestion that Bobby not be told about Graciela killing his mother makes a certain sense considering his fragile status in-show. OTOH, it would also require everyone else to agree to keep that secret--including Fernanda, and she's historically too impulsive to do that.

Doritos😈

With all the video games Bobby plays, he's probably very well desensitized to violence, like a lot of kids these days. He'll probably handle the truth about his aunt and mom much better than Fernanda and David. He'll be all, "What? Tia G killed Mommy? I TOLD you, you should've married Luciana! And no Cristiano either? What a gyp! Okay, let's go play video games and kill some zombies!"

Miguel ... ah, geeze Louise... what happened to, "I'm your friend, Luciana, through thick and thin. Don't worry about my feelings, I'm just here for you, waiting patiently. Take ALLL the time you want, no rush? You're through with him? You want to forget him? No problem, let's go pick some grapes! What? You love him? You'll never forget him? You're feeling hurt? Here's my shoulder, get your cry on. What are friends for? No, don't worry about me. A true friend cares about what YOU are feeling. You were here for me when I lost Erica, like a true friend. Shhh, now, relax, come let me give you a nice big comforting hug...." ???

OT: Susanlynn - to your question from yesterday re historical romance novel authors ... I recommend Julie Garwood. She has numerous novels out and she is a very talented writer. I suggest you start off with "The Bride," but if you Google her you will see she is a very prolific writer and any of her novels will grab your attention immediately. (Like you, I also enjoy Diana Gabaldon quite a lot.

Bill, I think Fernanda could if it were possible. However, as has been pointed out earlier this is too big a thing for secrecy in a world with a free press. Since part of the whole deal of marrying David is the social position it would give her and Lillian, the news of DisGrace's murder of Perla (because it has irrefutable evidence) and that she has murdered her own sister in order to take her husband is too big to be kept secret by anyone else who knows it. The guest list had to have included the society columnists and other members of the press. Considering how competitive the news business has always been, who wouldn't want to be the first to break this story?

OT..anonymous1.16...yes, I have read some novels 🔰🔰by Garwood including The Bride and liked them very much. Beatrice Small's novels are racyfrisky😈. Diana is my fav now.

UA: true dat. Graciela being a modestly famous "retired" artist who suddenly turned out to be a walking true crime novel hits so many checkmarks that, locally anyway, it'd get ridiculous media airplay; the only way to keep Bobby from finding out that way would be to forbid him from watching the news--if not watching TV entirely. And even then, using TV logic, he'd still find out 18-odd months later when he and Summer are chilling out in his room and he randomly channelsurfs to Lifetime in the middle of Graciela Palacios: Ambition and Obsession.

Yes wise ones, of course people would talk. And even well meaning folks giving the sure to be grieving lad love and support...Secrets always spill, don't they?

Bill, "Somehow I missed what Carito said to Miguel during his stomp-off-with-my-beer hissyfit":) All I can say is that she looked rather angelic (not that Miguel noticed). But we did. And while their getting together wouldn't be totally believable at this point, their potential coupling seems far more plausible than Luci and David.

Kirby, thank you. I hadn't realized she gave Juan a million in checks. I thought it was "only" Adolfo's money.

Diana

Thanks, Cynthia. Great job.

Maybe I'm nuts, but I'm still fully expecting Plot Phone #1 to show up with something incriminating. Maybe Juan is saving it just in case Lil doesn't believe him.

DisGrace's gown and Fer's gown make a lovely combo. Nobody else's attire is even memorable to me, but I'll pay more attention tonight.

I caution Carito not to have anything to do with Miguel. He was engaged to marry Erika and she gave him everything, yet he was still obsessed with Luciana.

Bill, you are so right, but I'd say it would be more of an Investigation Discovery Channel show. They have a few that would fit this scenario: "Evil Kin", "Scorned: Love Kills", "Obsession: Dark Desires", "Wicked Attraction", and "Deadly Devotion." Can you tell I'm a big fan of that channel? When I'm not watching novelas, I'm watching crime shows.

Diana remember when NoJuan ambushed DisGrace at the door of the second hotel room and took her gun away? After a lot of 90 mile an hour screaming back and forth, he held a gun to her and she signed the checks. I wondered if her signature would even pass since she was in such a discombobulated tizzy trying to get them out of her little tan purse and get them signed.

Cynthia, down here we have a channel called "Justice Network" and it is similar to what you describe.

Shows on Justice are "Most Shocking", Serial Killers, Beach Patrol, "Forensics, You decide", you know, that kind of thing.

Looking at those screen captures the point of the back of the open part of her dress looks to be 8 or 9 inches below her natural waist. My neighbor is about KDR's size. I asked if I could take some measurements and she didn't think it was a good idea. She actually thought it was a real B A D idea.

So I am still only estimating, and it is darn close.

You forgot one: Behind Mansion Walls.

Let's see... Sebastian Rulli as David, Ariadne Diaz as Luciana, Marjorie de Sousa as DisGrace....

I would like to give a SHOUT OUT to my fellow recappers, especially Urban Anthropologist (UA) for heading up this great team and keeping it so organized. So THANK YOU to Urban, DY77, Julie, Delilah, and Anita for all doing such a great job here. (I hope I didn't miss anyone else's name who recapped). Without you all and our fellow followers/commenters, "Vino" would not have been this much fun.

Kirby, yes, yes, thank you! Of course - how quickly I forgot! Still smiling at your "talk" with your neighbor :)

Urban, interesting choices. I wonder what Rulli could have done with the part. I really like Ariadne. With Kimberly nailing this part, I can't quite see Marjorie in the role. I don't think she could have captured the quiet craziness. I could be wrong.

6 more hours...

Diana

“I know the whole world says this, but never go to bed angry”, says Marta. Hey Marta, can I add something to that? Never go to bed with people outside your marriage, either. Angry or not.--Julie

This cracks me up! Yah, don't go to bed angry but it's ok to go to bed with another man's body fluids in ya.

Will be glad to have that bitch off my screen!

Grrrrrrr!

Here's hoping Grace has a gun strapped to her thigh.

This whole time Perla and Carito reminded me of a pair from a previous novela but I couldn't figure out which one until an hour ago. P&C remind me of Roxi and Sonia from MIVAC.

Since Carito has seemed to have grown up a lot since returning from Mexico and after all that happened to her regarding Perla and Juan, given some time, she might be a very good choice for Miguel. She has always loved him, but Miguel has always been fixated on Luciana. Miguel himself needs time to heal from his loss of Erika and needs to realize that Lu will never feel the same way about him as he does about her. As Carito makes changes in her own life and grows away from the influence that Perla gave to her, she might turn out to be perfect for Miguel.

I can't wait till Fernanda gets up to DisGrace's bedroom. As I recapped above, she had told her father that she was going up to check on her Tia. I can't imagine how shocking it would be for a young girl like that to find out that the aunt you absolutely adored, is the same person who murdered your mother. Up till now, everyone thought it was an accident. (As Juan said last night.) As of last night, Fernanda was on her way up there. So how she will find all this out remains to be seen. Can you imagine Fer walking in and finding Juan and Juan laying out the whole sordid story? Whatever happens, it will be very difficult for her.

Will Luciana ever forgive David? I know I sure wouldn't. I just wouldn't want to be with a man who decided to trade real love to settle for something that would only serve temporarily to make his children "happy".

Cynthia: between ID and Lifetime, Graciela's story would absolutely be a floor wax and a dessert topping.

Cynically (as per usual WRT this show) I have to wonder: if they had gotten someone like Sebastian Rulli, whose characters AIUI have all tended to be pretty proactive, to play David...would the writers have dropped the ball the same way? And if so would he be trusted to save it a la, say, the mighty Jorge Salinas?

Replacing Irina Baeva, however, would likely have at a minimum cleared up that infamous "chemistry gap" between David and Luciana...and that's been a glaring fault for long enough that it overshadows a lot of the good stuff Irina has actually done. Ariadne Diaz definitely isn't a bad choice, though I think I would have liked to see what someone like Ximena Romo or Alexandra Pomales (again "borrowing" from the competition, Telemundo) would have done with it.

But as much as I like me some Marjorie de Sousa (and, hey, age-appropriate)...Kimberly Dos Ramos is/was such a great fit as Graciela that I can't really see anybody else pulling it off except maybe Chantal forking Andere.

Cybthia--You hit paydirt with the recap you did for us last night. Great reporting. It's as if you were there with microphone in hand giving us the blow-by-blow. Thank you for this and for all your terrific recaps.

Since all the comments have dissected the comings, goings, stoppings, and noJuan's interference, I'll just say I enjoyed them all. I'll plumb them for nuggets (or raisins) later.

In lieu of Alternate Endings, here are my Alternate Beginnings.

Think about it, Patio Peeps, with a story like mine, we could have been spared all the stürm und drag [sic] on the Twining, Choking Vine of Desamor and we could have been snoozing through a whole hour in order to catch La Piloto at 10 and not have lost an ounce of sleep before morning coffee and honey.

Part I
David and Lisa are living happy, fulfilled lives with their Faaaaamily. Thanks to Lisa, the brains in the family, the vineyard is doing well and producing good wines. However, they don’t seem to be making as much money as they should. Juan, David’s compadre cum lawyer cum accountant convinces them it’s just hard times recovering from the Great Depression of 2007-09 and having to pay extra for a certified oneologist.

Lilian comes to visit occasionally and usually goes back to the apartment in San Diego with several of those boxes of Bodega Los Angeles wine. She scowls at Marta every chance she gets, but the vino holds her back from doing anything more drastic. On her conscience is the knowledge that she drove Fernando into the arms of Marta and when he became ill, she did nothing to help him recover. In fact, one morning he was found dead at her side. She receives a handsome widow’s pension and goes to Iowa to find herself a rich corn grower. [I might add she finds one and gets into his warehouse full of ethanol and dies within a couple of years of cirrhosis of the liver.]

Susan, the oneologist, is married to an abusive man who threatens her and finally kills her after he gets out of prison and finds out she has been seeing a boy-toy on the side. There is much wailing and weeping at the BLA and David immediately starts an Internet Foundation to help abused women. Luciana, Carito and Perla serve on the board.

Sonia never comes to work at the BLA. Instead, she becomes a famous romance novela writer AND when she appears on Despierta America, viewers are blown away by her seductively simple manner. There is a Televisa producer watching and he has HIS men talk to HER men and soon a contract is signed. Sonia gets to ply her trade on the small pantalla. She continues to write novelas in her spare time. She also makes sure she never accepts a role in anything produced by one J.A. Castro.

Graciela stays in Spain painting; becomes semi-famous, as in painting adverts for foot massages, foot creams, foot surgery, etc. She and Joselo form a company, but decide to break up as hook-up lovers. [Joselo realizes he’s gay and tries to seduce Christiano, to no avail. Gracie begins to branch out, and goes too far and contracts an aggressive untreated venereal disease and dies. The body is cremated and the ashes sent home to Lisa who scatters them in the nearby river in a tear-filled ceremony attended by the immediate Faaaamily.]

Altenate Beginnings Part II
Marta, Marcos, Luciana and Leon live happily on in the vineyard. Marcos wins all kinds of prizes for his wines for the BLA, while David claims the honors. Marcos only receives technical gratitude, no financial remuneration. But, he’s happy with what he’s doing and having his Faaaaaamily around him.

Leon never comes out of his shy self and is snagged (and snogged) by Carito. She gets pregnant with twins. Leon gets engaged and marries Carito within 2 weeks of finding out about the impending nieto/nieta for Marta and Marcos. They are all very happy.

Marta raises Fer and Bo successfully and sees them off to college and a soccer prep school. After graduation, Fer starts her own cosmetic business based on grape extract. Bo makes it big in the U.S. Soccer League and gets to play against Real Madrid in a “friendly competition” game. Chris bangs into Bo and breaks Bo’s ankle. Bo doesn’t mind since it was his hero. Bo retires to the vineyard to help his dad and mom.

Luciana and Miguel play ring around the rosie for a decade or more. Will they? Won’t they? Friendship is more important than a romantic relationship. A Romantic relationship doesn’t mean the Friendship relationship ends. Yes, it would. No it wouldn’t. I’m not ready to take the risk. Well, I am. Sorry, Miggy, it has to be my way or no way and that’s a FINAL.

Meanwhile, Patrón David has paid for and sent Luciana to school, college and on to graduate school in oneology. After Susan’s untimely death, David takes Luciana on at nominal pay with a small share of the profits. This is an incentive for Luciana to work hard and long hours. She’s into her late 40s, still bent over the microscope, wearing thick glasses and a short, boyish haircut. Miguel still hovers nearby, hoping for a chance to turn their “siblinghood” into “couplehood,” but Luci is too absorbed by her work. Miguel saves his money and buys a vineyard near Ensenada. At his age, he is still single, attractive and hardworking, a catch for any single gal. He meets tal Erika at a bar and finds out she is the daughter of a neighbor in Sonoma, Adolfo, who owns the adjoining land to Bodega Los Angeles. What a coinkindink. She sweeps him off his feet and takes him home to meet daddy.

Adolfo has been running his vineyard all by himself and he’s beginning to wear out and wants to retire. Miguel is not interested in taking over Adolfo’s vineyard and urges him to sell. He and Erika will settle in Ensenada at his own vineyard, Cruz de Amor [he bought it cheap at auction] and are neighbors of Renata and Jeronimo Linares and their growing Faaaaamily. Adolfo seeks out Lilian, but she’s moved away. He joins the Road Scholar travel group and begins to travel the way he’d always wanted to. Erika and Miguel have a couple of kids and are sooo happy.

Juan, David’s intimate confidant, has been skimming profits from the vineyard successfully for years. He does this just because he can. He’s lazy so skimming isn’t as hard work as going to court and dealing with illegal immigrants and getting visas for foreign workers. In twenty years he has enough to buy the olive grove next door, but finds it’s a lot of work. He hires a crew and an overseer and he and Perla, his live-in chippie [who he married to establish his legitimate status in the eyes of his community], spend their time on cruises, attending ballets, symphonies, shopping, underwriting programs on Looneyvision, and laughing it up like the Joker at David, stuck in his viñedo.

Alternate Beginnings Part III
Ramon sees Tano graduate from Community College and then go on to become a CPA, joining a prestigious firm in San Francisco. As long as he conforms to their dress code—conventional haircut, no facial hair, shirt and tie to work he fits right in. He dispenses advice to the lovelorn on a blog he calls Tu Susurrador Secreto. He goes home on weekends to visit ole pop, who is now retired and spends his days pining for Tano’s mother, who left them when Tano was a baby. Tano is proud of his father’s upstanding loyalty to the viñedo, but can’t convince him to move to San Francisco.

Brian, the successful officer turned sheriff of Sonoma County, decides that with his looks and abilities, he’ll run for higher public office. He’s admired everywhere for his speaking abilities and for his quirky Spanish-sounding English. His rallies are well attended and has little opposition during his campaigns. Once in awhile a reporter on local TV asks him the hard questions regarding his stint as an ICE-assister, but he deflects these questions by reminding viewers that it was his job. He’d rather talk about his successes as sheriff on reducing crime. His crowning glory comes when he is elected a representative from Sonoma and begins to espouse immigration reform (of any kind).

Anita: I was reading your Alternate Beginnings & laughed at Carito snagging Leon in bed & getting preggers with twins.

What happened to Perla ?

LOL, Anita with "Alternate beginnings, Part III". I think Tano needs more than Community College to become a CPA. But in the world of TN, anything is possible. I want Tano to not only graduate from Community College, but to also graduate from Stanford, with a degree in Accounting, passing the CPA Exam easily. Then he is hired by Ernst & Young as an auditor. When he becomes a senior auditor, David hires his team from E&Y to come audit the Vineyard's books. Junior auditors catch all kinds of errors and bad accounting practices via Juan and Perla. (Well Perla knows nothing about accounting, she just does what Juan says). Deposits and incoming cash from A/R and cash transactions never match, so Tano is able to reveal the embezzlement. Juan is prosecuted for theft and embezzlement and goes to prison. The police and DA let Perla go because she turns over evidence to them.

Steve--Perla married Juan--they are traveling most of the time.

P.S. for yesterday's episode: If Lil does what I think she would do for self-preservation, I'll tell you tomorrow if I guessed right or wrong.

For a million $$$$ wedding, it must be the reception that took DG over the limit. All the invitees fit on the porch and most of them seemed to be employees or friends. What, no Charlie, no Summer? Bummer. You'd think if Christian were coming, he'd have invited his two best soccer-lovin' buddies.

Cynthia--Great ending to the Beginnings. I tried not to have anyone go to prison or get Rocked. More boring that way.

Whoa, Anita! That's FANTASTIC!! I like how Cynthia spiffed Tano's credentials up a bit. What an imagination but you got to get people killed and you need more orneriness and conniving!

;D

I wonder if Bobby still thinks Cristiano is coming to the wedding. I haven't heard him ask about that yet, since we have seen him dressed up for the wedding. His "excitement" about the wedding was merely mostly about having Cristiano as a guest.

Anita, maybe on a few people were invited to the civil ceremony in the patio. Maybe the reception is a grand occasion at an expensive venue where they are serving the best filet mignon and caviar flown in from France.

"flown in from France" OR maybe DisGrace up there with an apple in her mouth and some sparklers stuck in her behind.

Anita, I see your point. Ok, let's try this:

Tano becomes a CPA and his team does the audit of BLA. He does such a good job, he's offered a partnership at E&Y. He turns it down and starts his own CPA firm, specializing in Forensic Accounting. Juan, although caught red handed, pays back all the money he owes David. He does community service helping immigrants get their legal status. He spends the rest of his life in his own legal office that helps the poor and downtrodden with their various legal problems, doing a lot of pro bono work. He specializes in helping immigrants gain permanent resident status, filing all forms for them with ICE.

Tano and Fernanda get married and live a lovely life in a beautiful home with four children, a dog, a cat, and a hamster in Marin County.

Anita, your Alternate Ending recap was clever and great fun. You have such a creative mind and spirit! You really gave careful consideration to the characters and what might have been. A delight.

I've been pondering the various scenarios...

"Erika and Miguel have a couple of kids and are sooo happy". This was the love that was literally nipped in the bud. Erika and Miguel were so alike, kindred spirits. Both staunchly loyal, fierce in jealous and in love. An utterly believable pairing. Miguel was the best version of himself with her.

Sonia. "viewers are blown away by her seductively simple manner". As are we. I an hoping that Sonia achieves the recognition and appreciation she so deserves. She will simply be doing it with her lion by her side.

Many of what I consider to the true galans here, Ramon and Cesar might have ended up alone, which I don't think was their desire. I am happy Adolfo had a good life. I would wish him nothing less.

And Luci ending up happy with her career was wonderful. Not everyone needs a partner. Just love of family and friends and being happy in life's work. Which it seemed she was.

Anita, thank you so very much!

Diana

Cynthia, I believe Bobby does think Cristiano is coming. We saw him finishing the touches on all the clothes and paraphernalia he'd laid out, waiting to be signed.

Diana

Yes, I meant to also say I am happy and relieved Susan survived. Many women in such real life situations simply don't.

Diana

Great beginning Anita. Thank you for keeping Luciana away from Miguel and David.

“siblinghood” into “couplehood”

Bill C. Did you see Chantal as the evil horny housekeeper in Amor Real? She was super good at being super bad.

Anita..wow. You are very creative! Maybe you should try your hand at romance novels like my friend Elinor...and Sonia!!!! Sonia has come a long way from sniffing her patron's shirt ! Hey, maybe it inspired her. Dave must smell very good.

Chantal can throw a hissy fit, too. She's practically a specialist. But I'm happy with KDR. I'll be even happier if they cast her in something good next time.

Thanks, Anita, for your parallel universe story. It's much easier on almost everyone, except maybe Susan and Lilian. I especially like that Booby has the honor of being injured by his hero.

But what happens to Cesar? And Ramon?

Maybe Cesar ends up with Luciana. Or perhaps he goes back to Spain to resume the career he always intended, as a flamenco injury specialist. There, he meets a flamenco dancing lady.

Ramon invents a new type of noodle. Ramon Noodles puts Top Ramen out of business.

You know, if some of you all would get together and write AND direct a TN, I bet it would be a great success...and you all would be rich and famous!!

Let me know if you do...I'll definitely watch it :-)

RC

Julie...thank you for some giggles. It has been a gray and rainy all day, so I appreciate the humor. Ramon noodles!! Flamenco injury specialist! Cut it out !!!Hey, maybe Ramon and Cesar end up together...now that would be a twist. Or a menage a trois with one of the ladies..Sonia?! Marta?

Thank you all for joining in the fun.

Cynthia--I liked your upping Tano's creds. He'll never be accepted by Lilian, but in my, teehee, "parallel universe," she's out of the picture. David, Lisa and of course, Fer would accept him without an illustrious Ancestry dot Com. I'm ok with Tano and Fer getting together.

Sysanlynn--hmmmmm about Ramon and Cesar ending up together. Although, why not, since I left poor Cesar out of the picture completely. Yes, I like the idea of Cesar going to Spain and treating flamenco injuries. Ramon, since he didn't get Marta, is willing to go with Cesar, as a partner or a friend. Works for me.

RC--none of us have the cash to pay Silvia Navarro and Cristian de la Fuente to act in our production. We'd have to tap into Lilian's retirement nest egg and she's long gone.

I was sort of inspired by the old original Star Trek episode where they run into a parallel universe and Spock was evil and Cap'n Kirk didn't quite know how to deal with him.

In this P.U. I tried to make every one so benign we'd die of boredom and go watch something else.

Susanlynn... Ramon and Cesar? I am shocked, shocked! Not. For a while there, I wondered if it would be Luci and Susan, because their chemistry was so good.

Anita - "P.U." - LOL. Dying of boredom, maybe, but at least not dying of confusion and frustration. Didn't we speculate at one point what would have happened if David had been a regular, rational, smart guy and kicked out Grace and Lili early on? And fired Juan over the toxic "fertilizer"? Sure it would have cut the story very short, but then we could have moved on to something better.

I am looking forward to the postmortem.

I know I'm late to the patio but heres my take on it. But first Cynthia, you
Put your foot in it girl.Thats what the Old folk used to say when somethin was really good. Anyways you took your time and calmly told this tragically

Miguel is turning into a whinny windy.
Lucy don't love him that way, so he need to just suck it up and move on. To......maybe Carita? Just stop being so pushy. Lucy is loving David. And that is it.

Juan is gracie's anvil. And he is good
At it. And gracie is lillian's. A mothers worst nightmare. One child murders the other. This leaves juan. Who will be his anvil.

Cynthia. You're a good recapper.I look forward to your future recaps.

Gracias!!!! And happy Cinco de Mayo to everybody who celebrates.

Because the desire to share profound thoughts and feelings will be strong when tonight's episode ends, I will put up a discussion header a little after 9pm EDT with a non-spoilery title so that you all can commence with your thoughtful analyses straight away and not say anything about the finale on this pre-finale page. Deal?
