Final La Piloto #80 6-26-17: Dave Takes A Win, Zulima Takes A Spin; Lucio's Locked In

Parte 1~
El Presidente Electo de Sinesterra folds like a wet dollar bill at the thought of being extradited to the U.S.  He’ll turn state’s evidence and cooperate—just noooooo don’t send me to the big bad north!!!!!
DEADave now gives Yolanda the 411 on Estela’s stellar sacrifice: “—she gave her life for me? (Sob) And yes, I have a lot to pardon her for but, I will.”  Yoli also has a few questions for Dave.  “What will happen between you and me when the rest of us are hiding in the U.S.?”  Dave takes a convenient call on his cell.  Sinesterra gave the hideout location (?) for John and says there’s a meeting of the cupola tomorrow in Tres Fuegos.  He sent a text with the time and directions  and got it confirmed. I didn’t catch the rest except it’s under strict confidentiality and the Feds will be waiting to extradite maybe the others to the U.S. (?)

Yoli wants to go with him for the take down to look John in the eyes at the end.  Dave agrees.
The General arrives early for the meeting at the ranch.  Sonia and Zulima tolerate each other at breakfast.  Zuli asks if it’s the entire cupola and Sonia says yep.  May she ask why?  Since Sinesterra is shockingly now under investigation, she and John plan to take charge of the cartel and make sure the money keeps flowing.  John arrives at the table and gets Sonia.  Zuli asks what’s he got planned.  “--You’ll find out.”
The Federales all arrive at the perimeter of the ranch and Dave confirms the ranch and the airfield. Advise the men to be on their guard.  Let’s drive.
The meet begins under harsh circumstances with bearded glasses dude who says this meeting is ridiculous without Sinesterra there.  The General tells Beard to calm down.  Sin’s been useless for a while.  He might as well be dead.  John advises all that this is a peacemaking meeting and has them proceed to the dining room.  Zuli asks John what’s really up.  He asks her to do him the favor of leaving an forgetting what she just saw and heard (?).
Dave and Yoli are in the car driving the back road into the rancho.  She’s brought her gun….”—just in case.”  He tells her she’s no way getting out of the car during any of this.  Yep…..”—Think Zulima’s there?”  “—I’d guess so.”
John tells the new cupola that the cartel is being retired. Sonia explains.  Europe and the US don’t do drugs any longer.  We’re leaving the country and the biz for you.  Beard says, ”--You and we’ve all made money and I don’t want to end up like Sinesterra with his great downfall and his loved ones murdered.  I accept your proposal.”  The General says he’ll continue in Venezuela doing thins his own way.  Sonia and John says it’s all the same to them.  Be our guest.  John gets a call on the cell just then.  He says he’s got to take the call outside and excuses himself.  Sonia, Beard and El General share a toast.  All of a sudden guns start blazing through the huge picture window. Beard, General and Sonia all bite the dust and the guarros shoot back at the gunmen outside.
Dave hears the gunfire and reports to the others.
John and Zuli and the new right hand guy walk in to inspect their handiwork.  Zuli is a bit impactada.  “--Really, John?  You killed them all?”  Yep.  He looks skyward and kisses the ring Oscar gave back to him.  He remembers how they tried kicking Oscar and him out of the group.  “—All for you, buddy.”  He turns around to the guarro and tells him to burn the place down.  Just then the Federales arrive and yell through the bullhorn.  John and the others go out the back way to their cars.  Zuli stops to think first if there’s a better plan for herself since John cannot be trusted.  She turns around and grabs a gun then heads the opposite direction out of the place while the sirens blare.
Zuli races through the back grounds and runs into Yoli who sees her and begins shooting at her.
John and his guarro shoot it out with the Federales on the highway.  John decides to make a run for it but Dave is fleet on his feet…..He tackles John to the ground in a human Hail Mary.  John tells him to shoot but Dave empties his pistol and John sees they’ve got a chance to go mano a mano.
Zuli’s run to the airfield out back and there’s a pilot getting ready for takeoff.  She screams at the guy to wait for her.  Yoli’s right on her heels.  “—You’re going to pay for all the harm you caused!  You’re going straight to jail!”  They aim at each other. “—Shoot!”   Zuli’s gun is empty.  She throws it down.  Yo! throws hers down and they go at it right in front of the main propeller.  Suddenly they push away from each other and Zulima loses her balance.  Yoli screams in shock as suddenly there’s a huge splat and Yo! and the plane’s windshield are covered in blood.  Zulima is now minced meat.
In the dirt field, Dave finally gets John in a leglock that John cannot fight and he twists John’s back somehow.  John is weak and motionless until after two other agents put him in handcuffs and drag him away.  “—It’s over Lucio!  Over!”  John says it will never be over!  Dave lays back in the dirt and flashes back to all the times Lucio got away.  This time he didn’t.
John looks over at Dave and swears he’ll make him pay for this just as he’s thrown into the backseat of the cop car.  Just then Yo! races over to Dave and is covered in blood and in shock.  “—I swear I didn’t do it!  It wasn’t my fault!  I didn’t do it!!! It wasn’t my fautlt!!”  She tells him about Zuli’s untimely demise.
End parte1~~
++++++++++++++++++++++

Parte 2~~• A while after, Yoli’s in a nice hotel wearing silk nighties and remembering her daddy and what he taught her and for never leaving her alone.  She packs her bag.
Dave, at the same time, is visiting Monica.  Moni’s getting out of there, thanks to Dave.  She always backed him up and it is the least he could do for her….. Is her career over?
He tells her that he’s escorting Yoli and friends to Miami.  He tells her about the politico asylum and that Olivia and Wilmer are taking Amanda’s baby(?)  He promises to stay her BFF forever.  They hug.
In Miami, they arrive at the airport where Fajardo says there’s provisional housing for them all and that John’s in prison screaming he was put they unjustly. I couldn’t hear the rest.  (Is it safe to assume he’s in solitary confinement daily like Noriega was?  Dunno.)  Dave’s got to get back to Mexico.  He and Yo will keep in touch.
Two years later, she’s a pilot and the women are flight attendants walking and talking in the airport getting ready to get onto another flight.  Wilmer and Raul greet their Gone Gals.  Yo’s left alone wishing and thinking.  Dave sneaks up behind her.  They kiss.  He’s staying for two weeks just for her.  I guess Dave’s also a Captain now?  Anyway, guess who else is slinking around the airport?  Yep.  He’s ba-a-a-a-a-ack!!!!!  Mi Coronel is watching Capt. Cadena kissing Dave?  He smiles and puts his sunglasses and struts towards them…..

~~FIN~~

Comments:
It is over and done, but is it? Maybe there's a 2nd season for this one? Dunno.

Anyway, thanks to Alfredo for always being there for us, although he's absent for now. It was a good run and I think this was one of the more realistic and satisfying tn endings despite there being no bodas. Thanks to all of you regulars who read and commented, and also to those of you who read even though you didn't care to comment. It makes it all worth while taking the time and effort to get these recaps up.

Thanks so much Jardinera!!!!!

A yuuuuge thank you to Alfredo and Jardinera for all of the wonderful recaps!!!! The amount of work you two put in on this thing was amazing.

A yuuuuge thank you to the patio. We were small but feisty!

Anyone else think the writers are leaving this open for a sequel? One, because John didn't die. Two, SM is still alive and on the loose. Arley didn't die either.

Speaking of Arley, I found it weird that he got asylum too, but that he was still with the group after getting his baby back. I mean didn't he kill Liv's father at the bar? Did he kill her brother? I can't remember. Also, all of the torture he put all of the girls thru too? I found it weird that he was celebrating with them.

John said something to Yoli right before getting into the car after being beat up. Does anyone know what he said? I watched the episode on ff before work this morning and missed that bit.

Zuli's death was gruesome but too good for her.

I wasn't surprised that John killed Sonia too. He hadn't gotten over Yoli and was just using her. Also, he went through so much pain when he thought Yoli had betrayed him that it may have hardened his heart. I'm super disappointed they never had the air out talk I wanted.

Hey, Carliville: You're welcome! I enjoyed this one considering the timeliness and seriousness of its theme. And, I also wondered if they plan a 2nd etapa with this one.

Thank You Thank You Thank You Jardinera. This really was a good ending for this tumultuous TN.

Couldn't believe John killed Sonia I thought John would be redeemed, but just the opposite.

Yoli and Zoo showdown and Zoo backs into a prop. Yikes too quick for that witch.
They're gonna have to rebalance that prop. It was a nice variable pitch three blade too.

Dave tackles John and whips his ass.
DEADave finally wins a fight.
They later told Dave John was in a 2 meter by 2 meter cell screaming continually.

Those doctors in Boston, YEAH.

Yoli is HOT as a Captain, Did that slit up to her waist in her skirt disappear about the time Dave showed up?

This was a pretty darn good TN. I think much better than anything else I have seen lately. I'm going to miss it.

Steve B.: Sorry for the delay, but I work till 10 every night and then had to watch this AM and again without CC's. It's not on On Demand yet, that early in the morning. Enjoy! Also thanks for being one of the Patio Pals. Glad you stuck it out.

Thanks, Kirby. I noticed that slit up the skirt as well. Ain't no female pilots I ever saw wearing a split minning like that one.....ITSA it was a decent novela and I didn't miss a boda.

Sometimes I wish the writers would really throw us for a loop. I would have loved for DEADave to have done all of this work to help Yoli and at the very end she turn on him and try to get back with John.

I missed a lot with my ff viewing this morning and won't be able to rewatch until Wednesday night. I missed seeing Raul walk.

Carvivlie: I do NOT see a 2nd Season for this TN & based on the way the Sadist S&M was walking towards Yoli & Dave, it did NOT look good at all!

Thank you Jardinera and Alfredo. I haven't watched telenovelas for a while and initially I found the violence a bit disturbing but then one tunes out and realizes it is only a show. I thought I may have been mistaken but it seems it actually was S&M. It seems that they cannot kill him so easily. What happened to Arley? Is he in the US as well. Interesting how Yoli becomes a pilot. Can any of these new arrivals in the US speak English? Well, maybe it is not necessary in Miami. In the end I found the novela entertaining. Thanks to the recappers and those who contributed.

Once again....huge thx 2 all the recappers on this one. You are appreciated for your committment and craft.

Wow. I liked and hated Zulis end. She should be behind bars. Death and the way she died was too quick...but it was an interesting way to go.

Cant remember who said it but yes...no bars can hold mi col. Dont know how i feel about a sequel but the table has been set for one...for sure.

So surprised but pleased Mena survived. While he was a horrible person...the character was so likeable 2 me...dont know why. Maybe in the sequel he's a better man.

John surprise at the end....well...was well...a surprise. I did not see that coming.

Yoli ans Dave didnt have a boda but they are still into each other. Im ok without a boda. The ending was realistic.

Maybe Yoli and John will get closure in the sequel.

I know you guys like to keep a body count but there were way too many extras taking a bullet for me to even attempt a count. But this one had enuf folks to bite the dust to fill its own cemetary. Great show overall but Im not very interested in watching another narco tn.

Enjoyed you all on the patio.

Jardinera, I just re-read your title and saw "Zulima Takes a Spin". Fricking funny. I was in such a hurry to read the recap early that I completely missed the title.

Watching last night I was so transfixed on Yoli and how beautiful she was with fresh paint and a defective uniform skirt, that I didn't even see your title. So I missed seeing that Raul was walking along with Wilmer.

S&M with those trademark glasses was an unnerving twist. YIKES
There were about three Terminator movies too, you know.

Oh Alfedo I wish you were here.

Jardinera, I wanted to come out from lurking to thank you for the wonderful job you did on bringing this great telenovela to life. I am currently watching this on Televisa, which (for once) is way behind you guys (as it premiered on Univision first), but have been passionately following this little patio (I'm one of the minority that doesn't mind spoilers and, actually, really PREFERS them because I like knowing what's going to happen because then I can excitedly anticipate the parts that I think will be good... and also know that it's a perfect time to go and grab a beer for the parts that I'm not that into!!), and now that it's over in yonder parts, am looking forward to watching the rest of this novela to its finish.
But you and Alfredo did a fantastic job setting up, decorating, hosting, and serving drinks on this little patio and creating something terrific for us to enjoy here.
I'm also glad that you had something that was worthy of your efforts... I was so leery of this novela, not only because it's a Univision production produced by some faceless, soulless, amorphous "studio" rather than an actual person, but also because I was afraid that Univision (and by extent Televisa) was going the way of Telemundo and start churning out mass produced drug schlock that I find cynical in their treatment of their viewing audience by giving us nothing but slight variations on the same theme, produced ad nauseum a la 'Final Destination 10', 'Friday the 13th, part 12', any one of the big budget Superhero movies, and sh*t like that. But this novela is incredibly entertaining- exciting, well shot, filmed, and produced, and with an excellent cast to boot. I am excited to see the addition of the wonderful Colombian actress Maria Fernanda Yepes (Zulima) to the Uni/Televisa roster of actors- she is a terrific villain (and is the lead in 'Rosario Tijeras', filmed a few years ago but I believe soon to be airing in yonder parts).
But you and Alfredo have been absolutely terrific, and I can not thank you enough.
Shout outs to all the commenters too-
thanks to one and all... you guys sure made this patio a great place to stop in at and enjoy a drink! ☺

Kirby: I KNEW S&M was never going to stop going after Yoli & Dave. When the cameras showed him with those dark glasses, I was like, "HELLO YOLI & DAVE.... LOOK BEHIND YOU!"

Guessing the viewers will debate whether the Lovebirds survived or got whacked.

As for Sinisterria, it was obvious he wasn't going to the US considering he got arrested during his Inauguration as President LOL.

Thank you for the recap! I din't watch the show but doe anyone have any idea what show is replacing this one? Thank you for the information. I know that the new Salvador Mejia show is coming alongside Vuelo De Victoria, Nadie Mas en El Mundo but I don't know which particular show will be replacing La Piloto.

Count: another narco show Rosaria Tejeras? Something like that.

UPDATE: On June 29th Univision will be streaming Despertar Contigo as the new 8PM show. As for 10 PM Univision is streaming El Color De la Pasion

Unimas for 8PM is streaming Mi Corazon es Tuyo, 10PM is "Bloque de Busqueda "

This is taken from the official website of Univision.

Count, you've got old info. Those shows already aired and are done on Univision.

Ah, then I apologize. I think it's best to use the guide on the television as their website appears to be unreliable..

Jardinera654, good and short. It seems that this finally was just basically gettin John, zuli and Sonia and all the
Cartel that was left out of everyone's lives permanently.Job done. While I did quit watching this tn, I was glad
That zulima got her meat chopped. That
Was one naaaasty creature.

I hate that yolanda's mom died. But it
Was an honorable death. This ended on
A somewhat good note. But creepy guy is still walkin around. They don't need to do a second part to this. The
Two lovebirds got together, trailing
Blood, but they got together.

From what I saw of the advances of whats coming on tonight I probably won't be watching this one either cuz it's just more of the same, all that blood and shooting in Narco stuff, not for me. I only came back to this one to see the Bad guys get theirs. What would have been really good was to see yolanda get Oscar, cuz he really hated her. It was like he was jealous of her she was taking all of johns attention from him. But he got his before John &
The gang did.

Thank you Jardera654, job welldone.

NiiiiNaaaaaaaaa...! What are you doing over here on the other side of town girl?

I have seen Rosy Scissors twice already and the first was good, but I didn't like Zulima in the second one any more than I liked her here. I may pass. It is a Yolanda - like story but told in reverse.

Thanks, Jardinera. Fabulous title and recap. This here is some mighty vivid writing: John decides to make a run for it but Dave is fleet on his feet…..He tackles John to the ground in a human Hail Mary.

Muchas gracias to you and Alfredo for delivering the best recaps of this fast-moving show day after day. No way could I have followed the action without you.

I'm happy with the fin. Zuli's demise was one big shocker -- well done. Lots of shows have violence, but I've never seen one like this where so many innocent people not involved in drug cartels get killed. Disappointed that they didn't do more with Oscar being gay. He never had a real relationship, and his hatred of all women was too black and white. I thought we'd get his back story, but nope.

So S&M is on the loose still. Very Alfred Hitchcock ending.

I'll see ya'll out on the Patio. I'm going to skip Tijera and stick with Doble Vida.

Kiiiiirbyyyyyyy I just stop by to put
In my 2 and a half cents. If this is where univision is headed they might loose some watchers. And gain some. I know there are those that like the narco stuff,mo power to yall.Maybe its
A tryout to see if it'll draw more of the folk that like those shows. We'll
See how it goes.
Kirby the biiiirdmaaaaan :)

Niecie: I did enjoy seeing Zulima being split all over the plane & Yoli.

It was Karma & Justice for Amanda!

Sorry to be so late. Jar, great reporting. Sadly, regarding the episode, I liked your title best of all. The Gran Final left me wondering what we had been watching for 80 weeks, waiting for the it all to be tied up (literally) and giving short shrift to the anvils we've been waiting to be lowered--gently, slowly, and with some prolonged agony.

Will be back tomorrow. Chau for now.

Anita: Buenos Noches!

Hey Jardinera...have been out of touch lately and even forgot that this show was winding up, but love your finale recap. Always get a big kick out of your jazzy writing style and your title this time was a winner! My goodness...would love to hang out with you at parties, you'd have be laughing so hard I'd spill my drink.

Thanks for wrapping this up with a vengeance. Horrified to hear that S&M is still stalking our lovebirds, but evidently that's the new No-Happy-Ending approach. Guess I'll have to stick with the old-fashioned telenovelas. Currently binge-watching Doña Barbara, and although the main romance is cringe-worthy, lots of fun side stories.

But you and Alfredo did the Patio proud! Thanks so much.

I'd like to chime in with my grateful appreciation and thanks to Jardinera and Alfredo for plunging into this telenovela. You both took the care and attention needed for us to understand QTH was going on, most of the time, at any rate--especially when they introduced new characters only to have them shot dead a couple of episodes later. The dialog was often confusing. I learned a lot about tn drug cartels--they are certainly clever business men, but ruthless and heartless.

Just because I wasn't wholly satisfied with the ending (I didn't need a boda, either), doesn't mean I didn't like it or the time spent watching. There were some parts that were confusing--like distances by foot, car, plane to all the locations inhabited by our gangs. I'd have loved it if they had shown us the maps they were using, or maybe a little more local color. Thank goodness they labeled the locations (which is some other tns is most annoying).

I didn't mind the pairing off too much. I thought Yolanda would survive and I'm glad John got to see her with Dave before she went off into the sunset with DEADave. So, they are still together two years later, but they still act as though they are just getting to know each other. I loved the touch at the end with Mi Col. S&M keeping one eye on them. He just doesn't give up!

Wasn't sure what Dave was up to when he went to visit Monica in jail. I noticed her hair was back to normal, no bobby pins and she had softened considerably. I wonder if all the things he said to her would have made her think there was still a chance for her--it would have occurred to me....at least she gets out of jail in one piece.

At the farewell "party" for the gang toasting their togetherness and future, I think Mena announced he had another job and therefore would be leaving the group and staying behind. I don't think he got immunity nor a free trip to Miami. Rosalba was a good choice to be super-mommy-nanny, but as hard as Mena fought to get ahold of that baby, he gave him up rather easily. I was touched that he didn't want to hold the baby but Rosalba took matters into her own hands.

I didn't get to see Raul walking because I was watching Yoli and Dave. I DO hope I get to see this actor in another tn, soon. I was happy Olivia was really in love with Wilmer.

I am disappointed that Liz and Oli both went back to being flight attendants. It sure must pay well, even without running drugs. After all the experience they got during their time "away" from it, they, Wilmer and Raul should have started an anti-drug cartel-money laundering consulting business and gotten themselves a few Homeland Security contracts. (Or maybe just hire themselves over at Doble Vida.)

I commend Livia Brito for taking on such a demanding role. (I enjoyed watching Mi Col. and wished he hadn't been one of the bad guys.)

I'm going to concentrate on La Candidata and Doble Vida for the rest of the summer, but who knows, I may fall into something later on. Stevey has a way of making upcoming tns so enticing.

It was a great ride and enjoyed our small but vociferous Patio. Will continue to see some of you on LaCandi and Doble and hope to see the rest again soon.

Anita, I'm happy to see you here on the closing night of this patio.  In my comments thanking Alfredo and Jardinera for their hard work in bringing this patio into being, I was reminded of your efforts- single-handedly, at first, at doing the same thing with a telenovela that after TSTSNBN NONE of us expected much of, but that turned out to be a really wonderful show in every way, that being 'Un camino hacia el destino'.  Christ, you were a one-woman show there, but it was great to see how the patio that you opened up turned out to be such a terrific thing for all of us to enjoy (on that note, whatever became of Kendra & Nandicta?? And, I've asked this before- WHERE is Vivi??? I hope she's okay...).

I actually just posted a comment on the LC forum (I've been sans computer for the past little while so haven't been able to comment at all (I just can't with the 'tap-tap-tap' on a phone, it just pisses me off for some reason...). I was thinking of writing another 'Coming Attractions' post for everybody here- there are some things that are in development that are developing in a most interesting way- and, now that I've read your comments I'm going to start on it tonight. :-)

Usually, however, anything that I write I send to Vivi and she posts it for me. But I don't know where she is... could anybody maybe help me out here for when I have it done?

With my thanks in advance and as always, my continued best wishes to all...

Stevey--Anyone who recaps would be happy to post your Coming Attractions with the correct label. I can, too (please, pretty please I want dibs). I will try to get in touch with Vivi and find out what's going on with her. At her time of life, it's job, travel and family. I'm pretty sure she's ok and just had to pare down her attention to Caray. P.S. I'll post this on La Candidata thread as well, to be sure you see it.

Thank you so much, Jardinera! This was the only novela I kept up with in the downtimes of my trip because I NEEDED to see how it ended. I thought the final ended well enough but I wanted some things:

Coronel in jail instead of teasing a second season….John dead because he already escaped jail once….Zulima alive and disfurgied/trapped somewhere paying in life for everything (her death was too quick OR a longer fight between her and Yolanda, where she got beat to a pulp and then stumbled back into the propeller. Now that would've been intense! A longer fight between John and Dave (after everything) would've been better too.

The rest was well enough and I actually loved the last scene with Dave and Yolanda (a dream come true!)

Thanks again everyone! See you in the next one!

So what is the new show?

Hey, Cynderella! Haven't seen you here for awhile. The new show is Rosario Tijeras, who transforms from school girl to hit woman.
