La Piloto #76 6-20-17: Yolanda is--was--is--in Peril
Our dear Alfredo is on vacation and has left a big hole in coverage for the next two weeks. Most of the days will have to be filled in by viewers. Anita will be back after she sees the episode. She did not like the previews from Monday night and decided not to watch last night (thank goodness).
Highlights--
Yolanda meets S&M on a lonely country road. The nurse and "Santiago baby" are in the back seat.
Mama Estela and Arley are hot on the trail.
S&M makes her drive to the latest Lucio hideout (which we now know is an abandoned school--huh?) He tells Zuli to watch the nurse and the baby until he decides what to do with them.
He hangs her up and fires up a brazier. He takes off his coat and gets busy. He looks hungry, maybe it's a barbecue.
Arley goes in and makes Estela stay put. Estela doesn't stay put.
The gang back home see that it was S&M that took the nurse and the baby out of the clinic from security cams. They get the information they need and Dave and Raul head for the schoolhouse.
The "Senator" and "President-Elect" learn his wife was shot dead and collapses. He heads for the hospital to identify her and to find out what happened.
In the schoolhouse, Wilmer hears Yolanda's voice yelling at S&M. He persuades the guard to let him go see what was going on. The guard is just as fascinated and doesn't realize Wilmer has gone back to his computer and calls in a 911.
Zuli comes out to watch and brings her phone to take pictures. Santamaria brands Yolanda on the left side of her back. She screams. Mama comes to the rescue--sort of. She's yelling and firing her gun and manages to shoot a guard at the door. Arley joins her. Soon there is a shoot-out with S&M and Arley and YOHOHO, the Cavalry arrives in the person of DEADave.
Wilmer gets Yoli down and they find the baby in a nearby handy baby stroller. They keep their heads down and are just about to make it when the Federales show up and decide to arrest everyone on the spot even though DEADave confirms they are victims of kidnapping by the narco gang. Yoli swears the baby is hers. They take all but Arley away, because he was nowhere to be found after the shoot-out.
Arley gets back to the Hotel of Forgotten Dreams and explains that he would immediately have been returned to prison if they had caught him, but the rest should be ok. As he's telling them all this, Wilmer and Raul return. Olivia is overwhelmed with relief and joy to see him and covers him with kisses. Liz hugs Raul.
They learn that they took the women directly to prison, rather than the police office. They also learn that at least Yoli has false papers. Zuli is blubbering as she's shut in her cell. Tough-as-nuts Estela mocks her. Yoli is questioned by the new Benavides and tells her they will all be kept in prison until their records are cleared in Mexico and by Interpol. He notices Yoli's accent is not Panamanian, but more like Mexican. She explains she's lived in Mexico a long time. He promises she will be reunited with her baby in the wing for mothers. He gets up and leaves.
DEADave has no luck persuading anybody that Yoli is a victim.
John Lucio and the Consul arrive at Tres Fuegos to hide out for a good long time and enjoy each other's company. They are rudely interrupted by Santamaria, who shows up empty handed. He still wants Yoli, who is now in prison with Zuli. That concerns John because Zuli knows about Tres Fuegos and if she gives him up, the Feds and DEA will come there looking for him.
S&M plans how to get Yoli out of prison. He's still determined to take her away to Venezuela and live happily ever after.

About this time DEADave etc arrive and enter the building and WW3 begins.
Wilmer has taken advantage of the pandemonium and freed the freshly branded Yoli and is helping her find the baby and look for a way out of the building. But they are apprehended by the popo and mistaken for bad guys and arrested along with Estela and sent to jail along with Zooli.
Yoli and Estela have fake IDs and are supposedly from Panama and are jailed while their (fake) identities are verified as not being wanted. They let Wilmer go, and jail Zooli as they know who she is.
Sinister is freaking out that Yoli is arrested, as she can expose him, so he pulls some strings to keep her in jail while they “check her record”. He appeared to be pretty torn up over his wife also now being killed because of his evil doings.
Later John and Sonia have landed in his airplane at Tres Fuegos and he is showing her around when SM shows up and tells John about the raid, and SM is the only one who escaped. He tells John of Yoli and Zooli being arrested and pumps John for information as to where they might be held. SM then starts plotting how to get to Yoli in jail.

Double Pilot:
SM kills Sinister's wife and takes the nurse and baby hostage to meet Yolanda. He gets her number from Sinister and calls Yoli to meet him, which she does without her gun.
Estela smells a rat and has Arley and herself follow Yoli in a dilapidated van, probably the one Arley stole the other day.. Arley simply calls all female humans by a generic descriptive noun name, as he calls all the FAs 'girl'. He still after all this time calls DEADave 'Flight Attendant'. So he calls, as best as I could make out, Estela 'Crony' or something such, much to her displeasure. So in the middle of trying to follow Yoli and SM, she has to try to get him to actually use her name.
Yoli meets SM and nurse and baby on a roadside as instructed by SM and leaves her car and is ordered by SM to drive his car. Arley and Estela lose her but Estela sees her again as Yoli is driving SM and nurse and baby to Embassy Suites. They all go in, and Arley and Est wait outside in the van trying to figure out what to do. Estela, now, has a profound interest in whether Yoli lives or dies and appears, in another leap of viewerville's disbelief, to be concerned as to what might befall Yoli. Is this our first glimpse of her sober?
SM takes Yoli to Lucio Embassy Suites and strings her up in preparation for her torture. Wilmer hears the commotion and sees what is going on and sneaks and calls 911 on the laptop he is using.
As they are preparing to brand Yoli, Zuli the pit viper comes out with her cell phone and is recording it and gloating. Santamaria is heating the branding iron, a large 'S' in a roaring fire. All the while he is talking lovingly to Yoli about how she marked him, and he must mark her, as they will from this day forward be together forever, and he wants anybody and everybody to know she is his. At this point he now looks to be completely delusional. Before in his quest for revenge he looked at least half crazy, now he is full blown cray cray.
The branding is with the letter S about 3 inches tall on her back about midway up and on the left side. IT IS GRUESOME. Yoli screams in pain while henchmen hold her, still strung up and SadoMaso does the branding.
DEADave sees the tapes and sees SM killing Sinister wife and taking nurse and baby. Arley calls Dave and gives him the address. Dave and Raul are on the way and Dave calls for backup, as every cop in the Southern hemisphere wants to know where Lucio and SM are by now..
Arley has left Estela in the van with a gun while he goes to look around and they are waiting for DEADave. She gets anxious and gets out and goes to the back door and starts kicking it. A guard radios SM about this crazy woman at the back door screaming about something. SM tells him to simply kill her.. SM sends a guy to kill her. He approaches her, tells her to drop it and she instantly swings around and pumps two rounds into him while looking away. He is Dead Right There.

WOW, Kirby--Your recap is much better than my highlights. I only did the highlights because I didn't see any comments. I should have waited a little longer. But, hey, why not double the pleasure?

Thank Youuuuuu Anita. I left out a lot of detail, just going from memory. I don't have anything set up to record these shows. Anyhow, double recaps are at least as good as Ice Cream.
John and Sonia were visible outdone with SM having survived. They were cooing to each other on the sofa and making wonderful plans to go see all John Lucio's other Ranches and places he owns when SM showed his cyclops face.

Kirby: I KNEW the second S&M barged into the hospital that Mommy Sinisterria was going to get WHACKED!
Yeah Steve, with SM, the rule of thumb is if there is any doubt, KILL THEM, ask questions later. If there is any TN justice SM will die a prolonged painful death, unless something can be dreamed up worse than death. You know, like the gift that keeps on giving. I vote for cutting off his you know what, both his hands and one leg. Also debark him surgically like they do dogs so he cannot even talk.

TMI, Kirby on what you'd like to do to S&M. I'd be happy if he loses his other eye and spends the rest of his useless life in prison, missing most of his fingers and being forced to play dominos with all his new "boyfriends."
Watching La Candi, I sure hope what happened to Sinesterra doesn't happen to Alonso. It all seemed too easy to do--kid first, wife second. Not that I like Alonso any better, but so far he's not into the narco trade.

Thanks Anita and Kirby!!!! Got to see both Monday and Tuesday's episodes this morning. I really think the writers must hate the actress playing Yoli because they keep coming up with new ways to torture the character. The previews don't show much better.

Carvivlie--Kirby and I both forgot that little scene where S&M disavows that Zulie is his noviecita. I think John was surprised. Hasn't John been watching this tn?
Yeah he called Zooli SM's girlfriend. I wondered if that was a 'test tease' to see how SM would react, or maybe for Sonia's benefit so she could be assured that Zooli is not a threat to their (Sonis/John) relationship, as it appears those two are getting pretty close. I wonder if John's discomfort indicates that he still carries a torch for Yoli and that those two are end game.
There is obviously bad blood between John and SM. Especially John toward SM as evidenced by a night or two ago when John drew a bead on SM with his pistol when SM's back was to him and John pretended to squeeze off a round. SM appears to have no opinion of anyone except as how useful they can be in helping him find Yoli.
So the Zooli girlfriend thing might have been just a power thing too so that SM knows that he didn't slip the Zulima tryst past him.

Anita: When Sinisterria found out his wife got whacked, he dropped the phone (after Gonzalez confirmed her death) & fell to his knees.

1.) His son, Mauricio got whacked in the shoot-out.
2.) Mommy Sinisterria shot to death by S&M at the hospital.
Unless Sinisterria has other kids, I doubt we're going to see them with the last episodes of this TN.

I think John is working hard to forget Yoli but can't. I think he is intentionally trying not to know too much about SM's plans for Yoli. I don't think John would have been able to watch SM brand Yoli. Maybe I am giving him too much credit. Sometimes I think there is a good man waiting to get out.
Kirby--Yoli and John as "end" game. I fear John's "end" will be a stainless steel slab, but maybe Yoli sends him off with a grin on his face and tells her he'll wait for her in hell. Oh, drat, Oscar is already there waiting for him. Oscar won't like Yoli there at all. Where else could he send her for all eternity?
Carvivlie-I also think John isn't over Yoli, but he has to come across as cool while Sonia is his new squeeze. She's someone you can't mess with.
I thought the same Carvivlie, that John, for all his "betrayed me" talk and such which he knows better now, about Yoli would not have been able to be there and hear her screams of agony.

Thanks Anita and Kirby. To me the one character who stood out was Estela. She can be a total brat when she drinks too much and is unreasonably demanding. But when required, she can shines. I liked her interaction with Arly in the van. She shows spunk.

Kirby, I hope you and I are right. I'm still hoping that it is John that "saves" Yoli form SM because let's face it, Dave seems to be useless most of the time. Shoot, even Estella got more accomplished last night than Dave usually does.
Is anyone else a bit shocked that Estella cares so much? Could she be turning into a decent person?! Nah
I also thought it was kinda funny watching Dave push Raul in his wheelchair when they were trying to follow Sin and his group in their cars. There is no way Dave would have had time to put Raul in the car, store the chair and catch up.

Lynette, did you see Estela shoot the guard sent by SM to kill her? He runs up and says drop it or something. SM would have walked up and just shot her without wasting a second. As the guard is telling her to drop it she closes her eyes as best I could see, points the pistol in his general direction and fires. Estela and viewerville were both in total shock when he did not fire back and instead fell dead.

Yep, only 4 more episodes to go. What a happy ending....will it happen IN jail or OUT? Dave can go cry me a river. I don't think he will get her in the end, but neither will John nor S&M. But we'd better fasten our seat belts it's bound to be a terrific ride.

Of course Monica seems destined to be in prison forever though she had valid reasons to do what she did. And I'd bet you a red airplane Yoli and her will be in adjoining cells.

Ive not watched this TN as intently as I did in the beginning but I still enjoy the great recaps and lively comments.
Dont know why but for some reason...my interest waned when the crew decided to spend their last dollars on a plane (but I have been pretty busy). Anyway it didnt make sense at all with a sick baby on hand. The narcos forcing them back in the trade shld have provided a plane.
Anyway...glad Arley is still around but for how long. I like this character but not sure he is redeemable but I hope he meets his son at some point....not that he deserves to.
