La Piloto #78b 6-22-17: The Great Escape, A Race To The Finish To Make A Break With La Panamanian Fake

  • Yolanda is hiding in plain site under an assumed name with a fake Panamanian passport.
  • Joanna, aka Braids,  and Zulima get to know each other at breakfast the next day.  Jo remembers Zuli as a friend Lizbet mentioned.  Zuli says oh yeah, we were the best of friends!  Jo says stick with her and she'll show her the ropes while she's there and how to survive.
  • Estela is in the infirmary for her cough and Yoli ends up there for a bit due to the baby's gas and burping/indigestion/colic [reflujo] that's got him crying like crazy.  While they're together they reminisce and make nice.  Estela has changed since she was kidnapped and she's no longer so selfish.
  • Dave goes back to the office and calls Fajardo and tells him what's happened to Benevidez and that he needs his help.  He's been using Yolanda Cadena as his means of getting Sinesterra put away.  However, he needs him to push for some kind of special deal for Yoli and her family.  He's also got a plan and needs Fajardo's help.  Fajardo ain't happy 'bout it but says he'll do his best.
  • Zuli plays on Jo's ego and tells her she should be top dawg around there again and not Lt. Ortega.  She's humiliated Jo enough.  Jo and she watch as DEADave comes in to visit with Yoli.  Zuli asks her in return to eavesdrop on his and Yoli's conversation.  Jo is only too glad to do that.
  • Meanwhile, Zuli phones John to get his lawyer over to get her bail.  She mentions that Dave was there speaking to Yoli and from what Jo told her, he's getting her political asylum in the U.S.  Once he hangs up, he tells himself he's got to get rid of Dave once and for all.
  • Zuli waits till shower call on Moni's cell block and searches her cell till she finds the shiv Dave snuck in to her months back.  Zuli then hands it over under the table to Jo as a show of good faith.
  •  Zuli and Jo are gossiping in her cell aabout how she has just told the warden Yoli's real name and that she kidnapped the baby from a hospital.
  • Moni finds Zuli in her cell and bullies Jo out and threatens Zulima, definitely suspecting her of being trouble.
  • And, at El Rancho de los Lucio, Sonia and John are watching a horse being trained and he says he'll give it to her as a gift one of these days.  Col. SantaMaria walks over and he and John walk off a ways cuz S&M has a favor to ask.  The Coronel wants to borrow a couple of guys to break Yoli out of jail and hightail it to Venezuela.  John agrees if first, S&M does him a favor.  Sonia wants them to leave the country and get away from Las Sombras, but that can't happen the way things stand.  Besides, he's born a Mexican and will die a Mexican.  So, John is going to convene a supposed truce meet of the cupola such as it is,   While they're all together, he wants S&M to dispose of the group for him and the two of them will take over the leadership and ownership of Las Sombras cartel for themselves.  S&M is up with that and John gives him a couple of his guarros to break Yoli out of jail.
  • A bit later Moni gets out of the shower and notices her bunk and room's been messed up.  She looks for the shiv under the other bed and it is GONE!  She immediately suspects Zulima.
  • Back at DEA-Mexico, Fajardo shows up unexpectedly to help out Dave.  Dave works on the paperwork he's got.  Suddenly Fajardo races in with the news that he just got an anonymous text/tip that Dave and Yoli have had an amorous relationship all this while.  Dave admits it was innocent in the beginning and then estranged and then they got back again.  Fajardo says she's bad news and a criminal.  Dave says she was a naive girl who wanted to fly and then got mixed up in the bidnez when she was promised she'd be taught how to fly.  She and her friends were forced into working for the Lucio's.  It was their way or the Bye-Bye flyway.  Fajardo doesn't agree; she's a narco whether she was tricked or cajoled into flying those drugs or not.  As for Dave, he'd better have the good sense to deny it or he's and his reputation are ruined.
  • Dave later gives Arley and the Gone Gals the bad news from Fajardo that he'll probably not be able to get Yo and the baby out of jail.  Dave, therefore, has a plan to break Yoli out of jail so he can get one last chance to trick and capture Sinesterra with his hands in the coke...er...cookie jar.
  • Arley and Dave get Rosalba to visit and tell Yoli that he will be getting her and Estela and Mini-Mena out of jail and to be waiting in the freight area/loading dock in an hour (?)
  • Meanwhile, the lady prison guard comes back to work and S&M cajoles her over to his car where he has numerous packets of pesos laying in the passenger seat.  He wants her help to blow the fuse and let him inside the jail to break out Yoli.  She agrees.
  • At the same time Arley hijacks a delivery truck and steals the driver's wallet.  "--Keep quiet about this cuz I know where you live!!"  He hides Dave in the back of the truck behind numerous stacked boxes.  They get past the guards without a hitch.
  • However, just then Lady Prison Guard destroys the electric power and the lights go out over various parts of the jail, and in particular the clinic where Yoli and Mama are waiting with Mini-Mena.  Yo! has Mama take the baby out where needed to meet Dave and she hides under the bed or a desk somewhere in the jail cell.  S&M is hot on her trail, and just like the Terminator, he's always back and like a heat-seeking missile, he's right on target--a mechanical hound dog.  "Yolanda!  Come out, come out wherever you are!"

Thanks, Jardinera. Great job.

I'm so tired of Col. S&M's sense of entitlement to have his way with Yoli. Honestly I'd rather have Oscar back than have S&M.

Surely John plans on killing S&M when he's no longer useful.

Zuli waits till shower call on Moni's cell block and searches her cell till she finds the shiv Dave snuck in to her months back.

Isn't the gang shower where one would most want to have one's shiv? Anyhoo, my money's on Moni in hand-to-hand combat with braids.

Thank you Jadinera, we are on the home stretch. So will S&M find his "possession", one Yolanda or will Mena dispatch him.

Boy good question Lynette. Mena and S&M are a pretty even match. I would have given the edge to SM as he is a killing MACHINE, but subtract one eye and I'd say it is dead even. They are both big, physical, strong men, and we have seen both of them simply overpower other smaller, weaker men. That counts for something.

Niecie: Considering that Monica used to be with law enforcement & the DEA, I can see her defeating Braids. However, we do not know if Monica will be among the living.

Kirby: The psychopathic Colombian Army Colonel is indeed a killing machine because anyone, who's come in contact with him GETS WHACKED!

Once again: President-elect Sinisterria will NOT be going down considering his 5 month-long transition to the inauguration is a long way.

Niecie, when Braids was talking to Zuli at first Zuli asked why she was not the boss and Braids said Moni is just too strong, and she couldn't beat her. I didn't get whether that meant physically or mentally.

Kirby: Waiting for Friday's recap to get posted.

Yeah Steve, we have one more episode, Monday night. It seemed to wrap up a few things, like Mena and his son, Estela's long overdue death, freedom for the crew, but we still have John and Sonia, and SM alive but in jail, and Monica still in jail.

Monica seems to have more of a life in jail than she had on the outside, I wonder if she will just stay there.

I actually do not know who is doing last night's recap.

Kirby: Sinisterria was inaugurated as President of the United Mexican States.

Yes, Steve, but within an hour of his inauguration, he was arrested. As I understand it in Mexico, there is a gap between inauguration and actually taking power. Somebody, and I thought it was you, mentioned five months.

Hard to believe that this is the end with so many loose ends. I guess Monday will be jammed packed...or is it a double epi?

Who knew that Mi Col...who normally kills for what he needs can use another way. When I first saw him approach that worker....I assumed he was going to kill her on he spot.

I'm expecting a major show down but it could go so many ways...Dave and Mi Col for Yoli; John and Mi Col for Yoli; Mena and Mi Col for the baby; and of course...Yoli and Mi Col. While I want Mi Col to suffer in prison somewhere for life, he is so dangerous that I'm guessing the only thing that is going to shut him down is death. So...it's a matter of at who's hands.

Regardless of Stella's change....I still want her gone. She has redeemed herself with her daughter but I don't think she can do enough for the damage and lack of care she showed toward Yoli.

The women behind bars are due a show down as well. Moni...a former cop....should prevail but she was so wimpy before she got her weapon...I'm not expecting much from her. Maybe braids will prevail after all. I just hope Zuli is collateral damage. She can not make it out alive....she does not deserve it.

Nett

Nett I agree. I hate the way most of these TNs get to the last episode and it appears the writers are having a bunch of "Oh Shit !' moments trying to remember and tie up all the things they forgot about. Then we get a thrown together ending rather than one where everything makes sense and is thought out.

IE: as you said, there is a lots of things which need to be resolved in an hour, or as a matter of fact even two hours.
I was glad to see they had Estela remember all the times she was a horrible human and an even worse Mother to Yoli as she was dying. At least she could die with the realization of how much she deserved to die many years earlier.

Yoli would never be safe as long as S&M is alive, even in a max security prison. He is like the original terminator, with one and only one purpose in life, to kill Sarah Connor (Yoli) and he would lose an arm or anything and kill anything and everything accomplishing that.

Probably second to SM is Zulima. I am really wondering how she will get what she deserves. She has reattached herself to John now and that human barnacle is pretty tenacious.

John has never been a true bad guy, as they go in this one. He has a heart, and is capable of love. He loved Oscar, Yoli, his airplane, for what it is worth, and he loves Mexico. We have seen glimpses of the good John and are eternally hopeoing the good one will surface and win. We shall see.

Kirby: Arresting the President within an hour of his inauguration following the 5 month transition period.

If the DEA & Feds can put him in prison (I doubt it), would they have to get the runner-up as the new President or throw out the election results altogether ?

Yeah I am corn fuzed about that 5 months. We saw the election, but did we jump 5 months later when they sent Yoli to talk to him with a mic?

"throw out the election results altogether ?" I don't care. As long as Sinister is in prison with a bunch of guys who think he is cute.

For me it was not satisfying just to see the dark shape of S&M locked behind bars and then perp walked away. I wanted to see his eyes and his face, up close and personal as they fired up the old tarantula altar while someone cut off his fingers and his toes.

Kirby--I'm afraid Sinister will get extradited to a cushy US prison to play basketball and write his memoires, serve out his sentence and released in 10 years or so--didn't that happen recently to Noriega from Panama?

Pretty close, Anita. I didn't ever see exactly what his prison life was like. He was on the US Federal payroll for many years. Until he was no longer useful to the US criminals known also as the CIA. Similar to DaniLow and AssBun/El Dorito.

I think I commented with thoughts of Thursday's epi...not realizing this was for Friday. Do I understand correctly...Stella is finally dead.

Anita: I'm guessing the runner-up in the election is likely the new President.

Kirby: Not shocked Mommy Cadena got whacked.

We all know it's not over yet because tomorrow is the big Gran Final.

Nett. Yes Zulima gave Monica's knife to Braids. Then the next day when all the stuff was going down with Estela and the baby and Yoli escaping Braids stabbed Estela.

Kirby, it looks like we may not be getting a recap of Friday's episode. Would you be able to post some bullet points here? Just main points boiled down to say 5 points? I know I would greatly appreciate it.

Hang on a bit longer. I think Jardinera is going to come through.
