Mi Marido Tiene Familia #47, 10/26/2017: A Child Lost
Labels: mimarido
More tomorrow...
ITA about the performances of Daniel Arenas and Zuria Vega. They were truly outstanding,
There was so much to like about this episode like Daniela with her ladle keeping all the guys under control.
Yay! Linda's reunion with Bruno was only a dream.
So, it seems that Eugenio and Imelda had to remind Blanca that she might not even have a roof over her head if it weren't for her marriage to Eugenio. Guess they had to make sure Blanca was humiliated enough to keep her in her place. That little interchange showed Eugenio in not a very good light. Imelda is a lost cause. Will this spur Blanca on to further action to extricate herself from her "determined" role?
I loved the little look Luz gave Daphne.
Talk about an emotional episode! One minute I was laughing with Dani and Gabriel and the next I was shedding tears with Julieta and Robert. I guess that was a good balance otherwise it would have been an extremely depressing episode. I agree. Excellent work by both Daniel and Zuria. They actually made me cry. It was absolutely devastating. All their high hopes, happy anticipation and dreams.... gone. I know Robert is trying to be strong for Julieta but after that last bit of news I'm not sure he'll be able to hide his sadness.
Daniela and her sword/ladle made me laugh so much. I had to watch it again. All of the scenes with Dani + Gabe made me laugh. "he is trying to exist for only her" aww. He tried to kiss her. That's a baby step forward. Too bad Dani believes he's confused....No! He likes you!
I love how he got beaten with bags and the next he's charming Dani's mom and aunt. The look on her face when he was kissing their hands and being the dramatic extra man he is, was very amusing to watch. "Blanca then realizes that he had tea in her house alone with Dani without adult supervision." I'm sorry? Adult supervision??? She's 34!
I was not very happy to hear what Eugenio and Imelda had to say about Blanca. I'm starting to feel sorry for her. She doesn't deserve to be treated this way. She's had a tough life and looks like being in this family has not made things easier. I hope Blanca finds her place in the world or herself the one she seems to have misplaced for a Córcega wife.
I suspect this lost baby isn't going to be easy for the family either. They were all so happy. I think it's going to be a sad couple of episodes. It'll be hard to get back up after this.

"He finally touches her; and she starts sobbing as he gets closer to hug her. He gently kisses her shoulder, then her cheek, as they both mourn the loss of their child" painted the sad picture with a perfect brush stroke.
If Uni hadn't been running a 30 second clip which left no doubt Julieta was going to lose the baby, this would have been even more shocking. Yet, I was crying along with you last night. Sometimes there are no words.
I am hanging onto hope as you noted the doctor said "it is highly probable that Juls may not be able to get pregnant again". Perhaps I'm grasping at straws, but hope is everything and I often say sometimes it is all we have.
I also enjoyed Luz's look at Daphne. I must say though that I did not detect anything inappropriate in the way Daphne acted or anything she said. If she was secretly calculating that she may slide into Rob's life like a snake, it was lost on me.
I also didn't think it was at all selfish that Cat's heart ached for losing her first grand child. She was clearly concerned for Julieta. Could there possibly be hope for her?
I enjoyed Dani's martial arts moves with the ladle and Gabi's fawning and fussing over the ladies (much to Dani's consternation).
"Belén refuses; she only loved once and that will not happen again. She continues to wait for her husband just as Blanca waited for her son". Hmmm. Now this is a story I am anxious to see more of!
What I didn't like "instead of being called Linda, she wants to be called “Perfect” (eye roll with pure disgust on my end), Tulio's "Before he leaves, he comments that she is right; the lipstick doesn’t look good on her" and "Amalia whines.... She wants to be the instructor’s one and only favorite".
I am disquieted by Imelda who does nothing to encourage Blanca to be her own woman. Jarifa, I didn't like what she or Eugenio said to Blanca either. Not surprising from Imelda, but was from Eugenio. Granted, he is not picture perfect but I expected more. That said, Blanca must stop being so harsh to Julieta.
My mind is trying to blame Ana in some form or fashion for the miscarriage. It makes no sense, I know. But I know that whatever transpires from this point on, Julieta will not be drawn into a world of darkness, bitterness and hatred.
That beautiful crib and nursery. I was wondering, what should Robert do? Erase all traces of their existence I suppose?
The only comfort is that Julieta and Robert will get through this. Together.
RgvChick, thank you for your excellent recap.
Diana
Yes, we need more if Belén's story!
Jackie, Gabriel was the perfect charmer with Blanca and Imelda. Daniela looked like she was ready to jump out of her skin.
When you stop and think about it, Blanca really is not too dissimilar from Julieta. They are both loving partners and have accomplished a great deal. Blanca has always worked but received little or no credit. She raised a family and having 3 good children speaks volumes (notice I'm omitting the 4th - a spoiled brat).
Imelda overall has been more hurtful than helpful. Blanca to Julieta? The story is still being written. And while Eugenio appears to love Blanca, there is little show of affection. While Robert basks in pride and admiration for his partner, Eugenio takes his for granted. He is a product of his generation, but not too late for him to change.
Jackie, our comments crossed. "I hope Blanca finds her place in the world or herself the one she seems to have misplaced for a Córcega wife". Amen....

Oh how I especially hate that I missed this episode, of all episodes! (*!@#&%$ blasted DVR!!!)
I can NOT believe Juls lost the baby. Oh noes! ~sob~ It now begs the question as to whether she and RobPab will go thru with the wedding. With the baby gone, there is no pressure to marry soon, the invitations are already trashed (literally and figuratively), and her emotional blackmailing mother has threatened to boycott.
I've been wondering if we would have the miscarriage scare (Telenovela Rules) and never, ever guessed Juls would actually miscarry. ~sobs~
WHY does she want to see her hateful *witch* of a mother? That's like going to the hardware store for bread.
". . . could Blanca actually be jealous of Julieta?" I have often wondered about that, too. I think Blanca is a bit envious but not conscious of it.
I also suspect Imelda does not want Blanca to grow wings and is undermining B's efforts. People do that because they fear being left behind. It is a psychological phenomenon that keeps many people from succeeding, bettering themselves, etc.,
Many times, people (like Blanca) do not grow their wings because then their old network/family/friends (Imelda) will be left behind and they will have nothing in common anymore, yet there is no network of friends, support, etc. in their new level of life (usually an economic improvement). Furthermore, that old "system" (Imelda) shuns them. That fear often keeps people rooted in a certain place (oftentimes poverty), no matter how oppressive it is. And the cycle continues. Well, I don't know if I wrote that so that it makes sense, but I hope it does.
I hate that I missed the Gab/Dani scenes. Wah!
Your rationale for both Blanca and Imelda's inability to grow/accept change made so much sense! Thank you...
I hope that Robert and Julieta go forward with their marriage plans when they recover (as much as humanly possible) from their grief. But I suspect that will be quite a way away.
Diana
ITA with the ". . . could Blanca actually be jealous of Julieta?" thought. I really do think Blanca is envious, not just of Julieta's independence, confidence and perseverance, but also of the relationship she has with Robert. Diana, you made the comparison so eloquently.
I had another thought...could the loss of this baby be a precursor for Robert's empathy and forgiveness of Ana's unconscionable act? I also fear Imelda's reaction...I'm starting to despise that woman. Will she make the same statement to Robert that she made to Tulio? I really hope they keep her away from Julieta.
Dani was hilarious flashing that ladle around and making those moves. And I am so impressed with how she stood her ground with Benjamin. Unfortunately, her experience with him has jaded her view of men. I do hope Gabi's persistence and love penetrate that shield she has built around herself.
I echo everyone else's sentiments. Heart breaking. Seems especially cruel given that they didn't want children, and then were so happy when it did happen, to now have that taken away and might not ever get back. I can't help but blame it all on stress. The cumulative affect of what her mom, Blanca and Imelda said, and the ruined invitations. Also that morning Blanca going off about the washing machine.
I'm hoping Ana, since she has been through it several times, will try to give some comfort. Though it seems she didn't get any comfort from Tulio's family while she was going through it maybe she will try to be there for Juli and Rob.
I thought the advice Daphne gave Rob was really good.
When Cat got the phone call from Luz, it was the first time I've seen her have true emotion--not manufactured for guilt. It was nice to see she actually cared about Juli.
Oh that Gabi could charm a snake. And I have to thank the writers for the sauna scene. Damn that guy is good looking!
Linda has no pride. She just jumped when Bruno says he wants to see her. At least it looks like he is giving back all of the things she bought him.
Did Hugo get a job? I didn't catch what he said.
I worry what the Corsega's are going to say and do when they find out that the possibility of Juli having a child is slim to none. We will see if Imelda has learned anything since her treatment of Ana. It is no coincidence that Rob called his adoptive parents for support. I'm surprised he hadn't told them about the pregnancy though but I guess they have been traveling too.
Carvivlie, ITA that Daphne's advice was good. She was in therapist/counselor mode. Still, I hope RobPab keeps his distance from her. Telenovela villanas have a bad reputation of getting a guy drunk and tricking him into thinking they slept together and causing her fake pregnancy. 😜😜😜 Doubtful this 'novela will go there, but who knows!
doris, thanks for your insight on people being stuck in their station of life due to social needs and pressures. I never thought about it quite like that.
Daphne is just a viper coiled and waiting to strike. I do not trust her.
What a profound question RgvChick.
Intellectually, that makes perfect sense. The intense and intolerable loss of a miscarriage likely cannot be truly felt except by those who have experienced it. Because he is a wonderful man, this terrible mutual experience may allow him to forgive.
Emotionally, I'm not so sure. Ana is someone he sees frequently. She is family (as abhorrent as that is). Once he puts the pieces together, memories of torment and abandonment will surely wash over him. I don't think their mutually shared grievous loss can overcome what occurred. He may forgive but I don't think he can have her in his life as she would be a constant, painful reminder of treachery that defies imagination.
Diana
It is hard for me to equate her many miscarriages and what she did to Rob. If she had had a momentary moment of madness, dropped him off, just to have the family experience her pain for a day, and then went back for him, I could forgive. But neither she nor Tulio went back for him. I wonder how quickly he was adopted?
I also agree that Daphne was very professional and gave some very fitting advice to Robert. OTOH, Jarifa, "Daphne is just a viper coiled and waiting to strike. I do not trust her." ME, neither! She smiled when Luz gave her that look; if she had been sincere and truly cared about Julieta, I think she would have lost the smile and have more of a concerned look.
Jarifa that is a good point. Maybe she does not realize it now but she's jealous that Julieta is so free and has made all these decisions in her life for herself and din't have to succumb to old demeaning traditions.
Doris! I suggest you watch the Gabriel and Daniela scenes. They are worth watching. I might just watch those parts hen I find it OnDemand.
RgvChick: You're right. Unfortunately right now it seems Dani's view of men is jaded. Based on that conversation at dinner it seems she wants everyone away. I think after being alone for so long, watching examples in the family, her parents Marisol and her ex-husband, she's just grown used to the idea that she's never going to have anyone in her life. You don't let anyone in you don't get hurt right? I do believe she still needs closure with Benjamin (I'd rather we not) but I believe Gabriel is one who doesn't give up. He'll be the one to break down Dani's walls.
Also very interesting. I never thought about that. This experience helping him forgive Ana...but what about the rest of the family. I guess that remains to be the main question. Will they forgive her?
Carvivlie: Yeah I think Hugo said he got a job at the aquarium. Wasn't Robert adopted shortly after? in flashbacks he's still young. It would explain why they never found him. By the time they probably searched in that orphanage he was already in the united states. Dani and Gabe are polar opposites yes. opposites attract. Like forces repel. I expect Linda and Bruno to have lots of problems until they both decide to grow up.
I don't think I'm ready to see how Robert will react next. He looks so wounded... I can't.

Thanks SpanProf, I needed that :)

LOL
We are the luckiest people on earth. I called AT&T Uverse and they had someone out ... today! Too good to be true, but he just left a few minutes ago, DVR is sorted out and MMTF will record tonight. Yay! 🎉🎊🎉
Juls losing the baby was very well done. I was crying thru the whole thing, and I only ever cried one other time over a telenovela. Well directed, well acted, well filmed. Miscarriage is always so traumatic. Whenever a woman even has outpatient procedure at a hospital, they always ask (and have for decades) if you have ever lost a child. They ask how many children, how many live births. That has been my experience. Losing a child at any point in time, including miscarriage, is a traumatic loss for the mother.
On the brighter side, the Gabri/Fani scenes were a hoot. Thank goodness for comic relief. Gab charming Blanca and Belen was just wonderful. Well, they were a hoot, too. I have always liked Gabriel and now I'm a complete fan of his. 😍😍😍
Jarifa, that butterfly grabbed on to whatever it could when the cold front blew in today. I guess I was the first "limb" it could find :-D
