Caer En Tentacion #14, 11/2/17: Love Shack
- If your missed the lead up to their tumble in the tinder: Damian dares Carolina to tell him to go, not to kiss her, not to hold her and then he will. She obviously is unable to control her passionate self--which this sly, silver-toungued devil obviously knew-- and they begin to passionately lock lips. The Bedroom Ball begins.
- Godoy and a tech check the vidcam recordings taken at the time Carolina and Damien drove through the toll gate. They note a black car that Caro seems to recognize and which doesn't have plates on it at all. "--It's obvious they didn't want to be recognized." Dun-dun-dunn!
- Raquel agrees to go with Santiago and Lisa to Valle to see the Love Shack Dam and Caro shared. Santi leaves Benji with Nicolas who immediately texts Lola that she should hurry home to help.
- Lola is otherwise indisposed after Juan, the stalking gym teacher, beat and "had his way" with her. Juan has her phone and tells her the family needs her. He nurses her bruises with ice. "--Sorry, but the beating was to make you see reason (as opposed to stars????). She's allowed to text her brother but not to put anything about the two of them or what's gone on. (He'll give her another one just like the other one, Viewerville figures, if she spills the beans.) Before she can leave she must promise she'll come back and they'll make love again. (Man! Talk about your insecurities.....) As she gets ready to go--he tells her to put makeup on to hide the bruises--he yells through the bathroom door this should be a lesson to her never to sleep with an old dude for cash.
- In Valle, Lisa stops in front of a little market whose owner sold the Love Shack to Dam. Raq gets the details she detests having to ask for. The woman recognizes both Dam and Caro's photos and explains it's been over the past three years she's seen them around.
- A bit later, Caro is looking through the window, pensive, when Dam comes to her and tells her making love to her is the best thing that ever happened to him. Her guilt is too much for her. He tells her to live in the present and presently it's just him and her and their bare essence.....
- Meanwhile the spurned spouses miss their significant others......
- Mia calls Nicolas and says she needs to meet him in an hour without her brother. He is definitely down with that!
- The market owner remembers first meeting Dam on her daughter's fifteenth birthday. It was her quinceanos and Dam gave leaves a gift of cash for the girl, so of course she remembers. She offers to take them to the place.
- Raq and Santi arrive outside the Love Shack. They enter. Raq is seething with hate for Dam and a bit of self-loathing. Santi looks like he's more interested in the quality of the remodel. He remembers Caro always wanted a place like this but he could never afford it. Raq then sees the picture of a sensual Caro and Dam holding her, enthralled. She lands on their bed and begs Santi to join her. He doesn't want to but gives in. She wants to feel a bit of what they must have felt and had together. (Sick.) She naps a bit in his arms, but it is obvious he is NOT comfortable doing any of this.
- Dam and Caro wake the next morning and tells her he's buying this place for the two of them--for her.
- While in town, Dam calls Raq briefly to "check in". Work is boring and tiresome, yes. Boo-hoo.
- Outside the cabin, cars begin honking loudly and it startles Raq and Santi.
- At the police station back in the city, the cop who sells his information on the case gives the latest to the male reporter who's about to hand him the cash when Cinthia shows up and greets the cop. She used to go to bed with him at one time and she asks if she's just as luscious looking as before.
- Laura and her camera man are walking on the way to another interview when she spies police cars and lights and crime scene tape. She yells at him to get his camera. They walk up and, since she's from the press, the cop who's guarding the area is only too eager to tell her what's going on. Yes, there was a girl who committed suicide. Her name? Oh, Patricia Vargas. (Dun-Dun-Dunnnn!)
- Lola's upset about a text message.
- Mia meets Nico and explains she's going to be attending another school. He's to promise not to tell Federico about their meeting.
- Caro needs to get home but it persuaded by Dam's passionate kisses to stay.
- Santi tells Lola to enjoy her day. Dishes can wait.... He races off to meet his workers at Legato to begin a job.
- The guard refuses to let Santi into the store. Andres drives up and with a Dam'n stick up his rear from the night before apparently, purposely ignores Santi's greeting. He speaks to the guard and tells him nobody enters. He turns to Santi and says he's in charge when Dam's obviously not around, and will say when and when not anyone enters. Today nobody enters y punto. Santi calls Dam and explains what's just happened.
- Andy has raced over to Raq's house to complain.
- Mia tells her brother about the meeting with Nico who is not going to interfere with their plans. What plans? Their plans for venganza. She plans to get even with Joquin, aka Mr. Popular. She shows Fedi a video of a burning car. He doesn't understand. (I didn't quite myself. The audio was bad.) She plans to burn his dad's new car?? (Maybe Joquin will be in it at the time?)
- Andres has made some lame excuse about not knowing exactly where Dam is, probably with the franchise buyers. Raq gets pissed. Andy gets a call out of nowhere from Dam. Raq grabs the phone from Andy and starts demanding answers from her husband. "--Just where the heck are you? Or better still, I should ask and WHO are you with??? You lied!! You said you were on a business trip with your cousin but he's here instead asking for you!" Dam is drop-jaw impactado. "--What's going on???!!!" Ruh-rohhhhh!!!

We have two days still open and if any of you who have captions or are fully bilingual want to recap, please email me or use the pencil icon at the bottom of the recap.
Thanks!
I honestly don't mind Mia taking vengeance on Joaquin after what he almost did to her. Burning the car is quite merciful in comparison with what a caring, vengeful father should do. Go Mia!
Juan's actor was also in YNCH Origins(the follow up to YNCH) starring as a woman beater yet again. He was also the gullible Omar in Yago before he transformed into Ivan Sanchez. Juan is getting on my right nerves. Alongside Caro , Andres and his partner he's one of the worst characters.
Because Patricia just came to Laura the other day to spill the tea on the Alvarados, Laura will be extra invested in outing Lola.
I don't know that I would've wanted to lay on Damian and Carolina's sex bed. I wonder what the deal was with the water bed. Did Raquel want a water bed and Dam said no, only to get one with Carolina? Or did Dam tell Raquel he always wanted a water bed?
Hopefully, since we see Mia roaming free in the present day, her plot to burn up Joaquin's car will be a fail.
I wonder if Damian ever bought flowers for Mia?
"Bedroom Ball begins" and "the spurned spouses miss their significant others" were among my favorites.
These characters continue to baffle me. "She wants to feel a bit of what they must have felt and had together. (Sick.)". Ummm, yes, that rather says it doesn't it??
Raq's demand to know where and who Damian is with, shows her radar is definitely up. It wasn't terribly shocking though that Damian didn't invent a more creative lie. He seems to believe he is invincible and being caught hasn't likely occurred to him (evidenced by the "couch" scene early on). To say he has a healthy ego is an understatement.
We haven't seen a great deal of dialog between Damian and Caro. Actually, we've seen more between Raq and Santi. Is is just an obsession or is there actual love involved?
Initially, I thought the affair came as a shock to Raq and Santi. Now it appears they are receiving blatant clues that there is much trouble in paradise. Suspicious by nature, I could easily see Santi chasing after Caro. He acts more like her protector and guardian than her husband.
Lola's outer countenances belies a core of steel. I am afraid of what else is going to befall her.
Joaquin's car being torched is far more lenient than he deserves. It will be interesting to see if Mia did carry any plan out or if things went awry.
Jardinera, thank you for all your efforts this week.
Diana
I've been live tweeting every episode and at the final scene last night I was like "Busted!". I wonder how Damian is gonna get out of this one. It seems like while Caro knows the affair is wrong, she still wants to be with Damian. He's got her under his spell.
I doubt Patricia committed suicide. Most likely Andres and Mike are involved in this. It was a little creepy that she was after Lola. Juan is a psychopath. I couldn't believe that he beat Lola up then was tending to her wounds/bruises. I hope someone trustworthy eventually finds out or better yet I hope Santi finds out.
It's hard seeing Raq and Santi suffer with these new revelations. Raq seems to want to understand why Damian cheated and what he felt about Carolina. The woman at the store was obviously embarrassed about having seen Damian and Caro together and not knowing that they weren't married etc. If I were Raq and Santiago I would've destroyed everything I could grab in that cabin. The waterbed was a little weird. A part of me expected R and S to kiss or something while they were laying there lol.
Santiago sees the nice house & luxurious furnishings & says to himself "Oh, no wonder she was getting down with Damian, he could give her the things I could not."
But Raquel needs to understand and she doesn't.
Right off I also thought that Patricia did not commit suicide. If murdered, then the likely suspects are: Mike, Andres, or someone else.
Clearly the waterbed bothered Raquel. I remember that in my salad days (in the mid 1970's!!) it was usually associated with great sex.
The disgraceful brute Damian probably purchased it. Didn't know they still were made.
Frederico and Nicolas are beginning to get caught up in their sisters' weird dramas.
That's still a good song!
Anon: Raquel's not a fan of the waterbed I see ROFLOL.
Anon207: Santiago still seems shady with his body language & odd behavior.
Countx: The love shack will get destroyed by Raquel & Santiago because both of them will be reminded of how Damian & Carolina got their freak on in that secret cabin or whatever the expletive that was.
TF: When did Patricia get whacked ? I'm NOT buying that suicide garbage considering Andres & Mike are obviously involved.
Body Count is going to be crazy in this one.
When Dam & Caro were in bed together, as we saw them at first, he was telling her that he had a secret desire. He revealed that HE had always wanted a water bed and he was going to get one. Then he asked HER what her secret desire was. She whispered something in his ear. He smiled and rolled over on top of her. Now I wonder if that secret desire was just more sex or maybe was it a baby with him. Not out of the realm of possibility. Benji is blonde, as Dam was (or has been in other tns). Hmmm. Food for thought. I wonder if the timeline, 3 years, will ring any bells for Santi and he'll get a DNA test on the tyke.
I don't know that it was Raquel who wanted the water bed. I think she said to Santi that Dam had always wanted one. I got the impression she thought it was frivolous or over the top. Anyway, I get why she wanted to lie down and feel something of what they felt--on a water bed. ITA, she's in pain, but it was a little weird to want Santi to lie down with her, but he's a good sport and did it. Yes, he looked a bit uncomfortable, but he held her with one arm and had his other arm on hers.
I also thought it weird that Raquel wanted to lie down on the waterbed but she is still trying to understand the situation. It may not be the best way to work through her pain, but she's trying. I dearly hope they don't give in to the urge to destroy the place. If Damian survives Raquel needs the evidence for what any good lawyer would see as a delicious divorce case and if he dies she and/or Santiago needs to be able to sell it.
The dynamic between Juan and Lola is rapidly becoming the sickest thing in this series. He has her cell phone in his control: Notice that she didn't take it with her when she left his place.
Agree that destroying Joaquin's car is a far lesser punishment than he deserves. He should suffer a very unkind cut, if you get my drift.
Although Andres is probably the worst of the lot so far.
Megaditto on when someone above said they saw very little besides sex in relationship between Dam and Caro- extremely shallow, just passion and lust and controlling behavior on part of Dam and part of Caro —lust and lack of control and at times fear of denying Dam?
I really wish we did not have to live with this Juan character for many more weeks. Its beyond intolerable.
Is the presentation time changing next, week? Or maybe TV Guide not updated to end of daylight savings? I don’t want to stay up til midnight, but am totally hooked...so I will if I have to.
CaliA
There is a lot worth quoting here, but I'll confine myself to this particularly nicely observed moment:
"Raq is seething with hate for Dam and a bit of self-loathing. Santi looks like he's more interested in the quality of the remodel."
Bien hecho, amiga!
Amotelenovelas:
Lola wanted money for the class trip and Patricia persuaded her dating old guys would be a good way to solve her financial problems. I don't know if Lola realized (or admitted to herself) that Patricia was proposing and she was agreeing to prostitution.
When it turned out that Lola couldn't bring herself to sleep with Andres, Patricia offered to protect her: she would sleep with both men so they would leave Lola alone. But it turns out that Patricia wasn't all that generous: she herself was lusting after Lola. (Everyone seems to be Lusting After Lola. Hmm. Who knew Eau de Tristesse was such a potent aphrodisiac?)
Later, when Lola wanted out, Patricia wouldn't let go, alternately cajoling and threatening her. Apparently, three years later, Patricia was still haunting her, this time telling all to the vile Laura.
By the way, does anyone else think Benja might be Lola's kid?
When Mia and Fede were looking at the video of burning cars, their eyes gleaming with a lust for revenge, it made me wonder if they might have had something to do with the Dam and Caro's fate.
It's fun to watch the unmasking of the characters over time.
the recording after midnight!! However, i dont know why Patricia committed suicide(?j - i think thats what i read here on blog or heard on the show. But then i heard or saw that they may hold Lola responsible. Seems like she is never out of trouble and she doesnt appear to be a bad girl!!! And i thought Santi said that now he has the money for anything she needs or wants including class trip! Ok. These 4 children are really a handful!!!! Well, i suppose i am still missing some pieces of the Lola thread!!!
These families are the MOST PERFECT example of that saying— — “You never know whats going on behind closed doors!”
I totally look forward to this telenovela more so than i do with “ Tiene Familia.” And “ “Enamorandome. But there is MUCHO darkness in it and the back and forth is sometimes annoying and confusing, though an interesting tactic for a thriller. First time i have seen this continual flash back method in Univision.
It is also refreshing to see such a NATURALLY beautiful protagonist (CARO) IN A TELENOVELA. SO MANY OF THE ACTRESSES HAVE HAD WORK DONE. I guess its a matter of opinion but inthink this actress is one of the most beautiful in a truly natural way.
Amotelenovelas,
So we hear the police tell scuzzy newslady Laura that Patricia committed suicide. But we don't believe it because we previously heard Andres and his crony worrying about Patricia shooting off her mouth and exposing their nasty doings. We heard Andres tell the other guy (can't remember his name) he'd take care of Patricia –– but not to worry, he is quick to say: he will give her money to keep her quiet. But we all know that Andres is capable of anything...
We don't know if Lola will be brought into this, but she does seem to attract all sorts of bad stuff so why not blame for Patricia's death?
As for Santi offering Lola the money for her trip, by the time he does so, it's too late and she has already fallen into the Patricia-Andres pit.
And I agree that Caro is a marvel of nature. (And so is Raquel.)
"Who knew Eau de Tristesse was such a potent aphrodisiac?" - perfect. Signature NovelaMaven...
Several others have commented that Ben could be Lola's. I hadn't thought so initially but she certainly holds him and tends to him with very loving care.
Amotelenovelas, I am (insanely) trying to watch all 3 current TNs. Well, at least a portion of each. Ramon demands much beanie wearing but I am loving Familia. I had no idea I would get totally drawn in by this. It is dark to the core and I can't honestly think of one character I like! I agree with you about Caro, she is quite beautiful and her chemistry with Gabe is combustible.
CaliA, Univision shows this airing next week in its original 10 p.m. Eastern slot.
Diana
Actually, I am also loving Familia. It's almost the antithesis of this one: in Familia we have basically decent people clashing, making mistakes and suffering terrible losses; we can cry with them, but deep down we know they'll be okay in the end. In Caer, it's hard to see how anyone will be okay. The more layers peeled away, the worse it looks. Well we'll see, won't we?
We're seeing a lot of Dam and Caro heating up the sheets, the car hood, the fridge, the office couch..., but that cozy cabin getaway with their happy photo makes me feel they went beyond sex. Maybe Caro simply loved being free not to be the dutiful wife and mother that always put everyone else first. But sneaking off with Dam the same night she found out her teen daughter had slept with men for cash shows how out of control she was under Dam's spell.
NovelaMaven, nice to see you here!
Yep, the writers are toying with us on Benji.
Santi leaves Benji with Nicolas who immediately texts Lola that she should hurry home to help.
Hmmm, why does Nic feel the need to let Lola know he's home alone with their little brother when he's perfectly capable of taking care of him?
I watched the whole Caer summary Friday and realized again how great this cast is. I don't want to see Santi and Raq hook up. They're better as friends who share the same pain.
I also Santiago thinks women should be taking care of the children. That attitude has probably filtered down to Nicolas.
I also think Carolina was too busy having sexcapades with Damian so child rearing fell to Lola. Because she's a girl and that's what women are supposed to do, right?
I don't think Benja is Lola's child. I think he is Caro's child that she dumped on Lola.
For that cute little banji. What is he
A year old, or 2? When did the affair
Start? Did caro have time to get with
Child in between sexcapades with hotty
Dam? Cuz then I would thinkbthat Beni has Dam's DNA Runnin through his veins I Don't think for one minute that Beni
Belongs to Lola. She's the older child
So it falls on her to step in when mom
Isn't there. That's the way it is in some families, the older girl.Ive seen
Families like that.
Now as For raq wanting to see what dam
And Caro Felt on the water bed. Not
Sick,just tryinto wrapher brain around
The fact that her husband went to such
Lengths for the other woman. That setup
Is emaculate. They were in their own
World.No extra spouses,no children, no
Mother nagging, no crying baby's. Just
Them in their own self involved world
Of hot blooded lust.To hell with every
Thing and everybody else.
Damian,Carolina was it worth it?I dont
Think so, but maybe that's just me.
I thought Patricia was liking Lola for
Herself. Didn't somebody put out a lie
About those two?
Don't like the newzlady. And she do not deserve an "s".Lol.
So who killed Carolina and who killed
Patty?I care a little bit,but I really
Want Damian to wake up.I want to hear
him try and explain his way out of this snake pit he jumped into. But if
And only if he has a memory. That lose
Would be very convenient. But also very
Annoying. But raq could get him back.
Make him not want to get his memory back. Hee hee! Just sayin.
I dont think i have seen one with this % of bad guys since Yago! I couldnt stop watching that one either even though i claim to not like the super dark —ha ha!!!!
So WHO the heck ARE the good guys in this? GEE, i’m not too fond of anyone at the moment though i have some positive feelings for Santi.
My guess is we may have to wait quite a while to hear Dam explain anything— even after he wakes up -may not be forthcoming....and maybe he doesnt actually know what happened to Carolina.
Do we know Benji’s age ? It is weird that Lola seems to be totally in charge of him.
Carole
Lisa mentioned she had children, I think (we haven't seen them) and Santi has called Benji MI Hijo, although that could be because he didn't know about the extra-marital relations between Dam and Caro resulting in Benji, or if he did, he's accepted the kid. I agree with the above comments that the cultural mores would have Nico wanting to have Lola hurry home to take over Benji's care. Although, as I recall, at one instance, Nico told them he'd given Benji his bath and put him to bed. Benji being Caro's is more likely than his being Lola's.
