Caer En Tentacion #42, 12/19/17: Stuck In A Rut

Mia’s self-satisfied, seeing that she’s ruined the relationship between Santiago and her mother.  She checks with Federico to see if he’s still on board with her plan to put the brakes on Raquel and Santi’s relationship.  He’ did his part in telling Mama he’s against her going to bed with Santiago.  He’s got a life even if she doesn’t.  He doesn’t feel like standing guard over Mama.

Rueda pays a visit to Alina and threatens her personal and professional life if she doesn’t stop praying on younger boys.  He’s going to make her pay for what she did to his kid. (What we’re not sure of is whether Rueda’s son did something drastic after she dumped him.)

3 years ago, even though Raq and Damian supposedly made up and had a bout it bed to test the relationship, it must have failed because he went back to the hotel and Raq doesn’t have much to say to the kids the next morning, but that they’re working it out.

Carolina tells Santi that she’s been distant to him and is going to try harder to be a better wife and mother.

Dam returns to work.  Andreas greets him with the fact that his wife was checking up on Dam’s “extracurricular activities” but he kept to the pact and kept his mouth shut.  Now Dam better also keep to his part of the bargain.

Gabriela pays a visit to Raq to demand respect from her son who rudely came to her doorstep accusing her of sleeping with Dam.  Why was she knocking on his hotel door then???  Because Christian was staying there in the same hotel, duh.

Santi brags to his workers that there’s been a change in Caro for the better.

Raq stops for coffee at Caro’s and asks if she knows who Dam is cheating on her with and/or if.  Caro tells Raq that she doesn’t believe Dam is playing around on her.  Caro has to leave because she’s got an important appointment this morning.

Caro goes to the school principal and accuses El Don Juan de Damasita’s of making moves on his students and in particular, on her daughter.

Godoy arrives home late and is guilted into making love to Laura that night.   The next morning she’s back to her old tricks, wanting information to break the news with.  While he’s in the shower, she steals a look into his phone for a list of callers and spies SinCin’s name numerous times.

Raq gets ready for work at the factory.  Mia insists on learning the business and forces Raq to take her with her for the day.

Lola give her dad the 3rd degree about his relationship with Raquel.  Is it serious or not?  He cannot say at this point.

At the jail, Bebo, Alina and Nicolas are going over the reason that Nacho cannot get bail.  Bebo is told his father needs an alibi and a witness that would place him somewhere else during the time of the crime against Caro.  Bebo says they were on the phone back and forth.  Alina has Nico get a P.I. to investigate the phone records for Nacho that night.

Rueda meets with Miriam an advises her that half of the missing funds have reappeared.  She accuses him of being bribed with the other half of them.  He objects to her insinuation.

Cinthia meets with Godoy in the police waiting area.  While she’s warning Godoy that she’s worried because Rafael won’t speak with her and confide in her so he might no longer trust her, Laura jealously watches Godoy and SinCin and she suspects the worst and leaves without letting hubby know she’s been there.

Rafael meets with Rueda and wants to be put on his payroll (?)  I don’t know what information he says he might have for Rueda.

Santi calls Raq at the factory and they bemoan their lacking permission from the kids for a lovelife together.

In the factory area, Mia comes to sneer at Fede; then Fede gets docked for wasting time.

Rafe has a meet with Bebo; he offers cash to deliver a package to somebody.  (I was totally uncertain who or what or why, but it wasn’t kosher.)

Dam meets the kids after school for a late lunch to discuss his problems with them and their mother and himself.  He gets nowhere, but then who expects that to make any difference to kids anyway……

Pati gives Lola a hard time about fooling around with the teach.  Everybody knows about their relationship so now she cannot act like she’s better than the rest of them.  She whines to her girlfriend that her life is a big failure.

Caro gets home that afternoon and tells Lola what she did about her teacher, but the upset it causes is too great and she has bad belly pains……

Jardinera: You've really outdone yourself in this recap.

Mia is a spoiled brat & druggie! Plus, she needs to be placed in a mental institution!

About time somebody called out the Latina Mrs. Robinson for preying on youngin's.

Something tells me she'll start praying on young girls next.

Jardinera, sassy and spicy. Fantastic recap.

Mia appears to become more mentally unbalanced with each passing day. Is it jealousy? Anger? Hatred? All of the above? Shiver.

"Santi brags to his workers that there’s been a change in Caro for the better". Yes. No one believed him.

It's clear something tragic happened to Rueda's son - possibly suicide? Speculation only. I'm glad he is on Alina's case. She is a predator and has also inflicted great psychological harm (especially to Nico's predecessor). She clearly has Bebo in her sights. She is relentless and very dangerous.

I'm seeing explosive chemistry between SinCin and Godoy. I mean Sin is out there herself, beyond needy. It's just not a good idea. Godoy has his hands full with Laura who scrutinizes and monitors everything he does. I've heard that many men cheat on women resembling their wives. I see no similarities between Sin and Laura. They both frighten me but for different reasons.

Lola seems to be the only one willing to give Santi and Raq a chance. I've said all along that there is too much past for there to ever be a present but Lola seems to be acting out of caring not reacting out of spite (Mia, I'm looking at you).

Thanks Jardinera! Also, thank you to all the recappers for their summaries this past week.

Diana

Gracias, Jardinera.

Mia told Raquel that she wants to keep an eye on her to make sure she is keeping her distance from Santiago. The cheek! It's high time she ended up in a mental health facility; there is no way Raquel should put up with this.

While Rueda didn't specify this, I have a feeling the kid who preceded Nico is supposed to be his son (which means that his mother is seriously European-looking).

I hope Bebo isn't lying about having been on the phone with Nacho during the murder. Whatever the truth is we can expect this to be drawn out over another few episodes.

Fernando needs to keep focused on the case and not on Cinthia. She's a skank.

I don't think Mia does drugs. That's Cinthia. Mia's just a self centered brat.

I give Lola, Nico & Fede the benefit of the doubt whereas Mia, I don't:

Nico/Lola just lost their mom. Also, they said their dad being out and about throws suspicion on him from the police.

Fede's father is in a coma in ICU, so to see his mom move on while dad is laying in the hospital bed is offensive. I understand, I get it.

Mia will not be happy with anyone Raquel is having sex with at any time. It doesn't matter if its Santiago or Damian, 5 minutes after the accident or 5 years after the accident. Damian could die today & Raquel meets someone 10 years from now and Mia will cry that Raquel never loved Damian because here she is having sex with ______.

Thank you Jardinera.

I need to catch up on viewing this TN, so your recap has helped me immensely. I knew something was up with Alina and Rueda's as far as a reason for her disliking him and his warning to Nico. She is one sick woman and I have never liked her from the start.

Mia is self-centered and a pain to be around, I know Fede is her brother but he does not have to follow her lead.

Thank you Jar--I commend you for doing a recap while your hub is recuperating.
Diana--Nice to see you again. I thought we'd lost you--this is a pretty dark telenovela with no light at the end of anybody's tunnel.

For a telenovela that purported to be about the two main couples and the aftermath of the accident, investigation, etc., it certainly has us all focused on the two pairs of siblings. It's too bad we didn't have some additional flashbacks of what the kids lives were 10 years earlier. What has made Caro submit to such abuse by Juan; what has made Nico painfully (word intended) obsessed with Mia for at least three years and falls easily into the clutches of a predatory bitch; what has made Fede put Raq up so high on a marble pedestal (let's not forget he's asthmatic) that when she topples, he considers her broken; and Mia--what on earth in her past made her such a sullen, nasty, opinionated, controlling brat?

I must agree with everyone who sees Mia's jealousy as such that she would never accept anyone with her mother, not even her father. Sex, to her is, well, what IS sex to her? She disfigured herself and then believed no one would want to look at her inner thighs and desire to be with her. She can't stand hearing her parents having sex. Now that she's gone to bed with Nico, her obsession is about being with HIM all the time and he can't spend time with anyone else, not even when he's working. Hmmmm. She does seem to have a sixth sense about things, but they are constantly misinterpreted.

Boy, I'm glad I'm not a psychologist or psychoanalyst with Mia as a patient. I DON'T think that psychologist Raq had her go to gave her any good advice. It just messed her up even more.

..Ooops, I meant Lola, not Caro, but you knew what I meant. It's what happens when you are making bread at the same time as commenting.

Anita, I always enjoy your laser sharp perspective including Mia's "She does seem to have a sixth sense about things, but they are constantly misinterpreted". I'm not sure at this point if Mia can be brought down from the precipice she's teetering on...I hope I am wrong.

Jardinera, I wish your husband all the best as he recuperates.

Diana

Jardinera654 thanks for this short and to the point recap. What else could be said about These people? Every night They are crazier.I really can't stand mia, she's full of herself and other stuff. I really think stuff will get
More interesting if Damian would wake
Up. Coward. What happened with that #2
Surgery, brain swelling or some sort?
How many months in tnland since the tragic accident/murder?
Is Miriam goin to the psych ward for
Trying to send dam into the light or darkTunnel? When is it going to end?

Nina--Your guess is as good as anybody's, including us Carayers dedicated to this really intense drama.

Diana--When you are absent, your wisdom is sorely missed. In this tn, your human nature of trying to view all the characters, even the flawed ones, with some compassion, is certainly hard to do. Keep trying. We need it.

Thanks, Jardinera. I'm always amazed how you capture the action so deftly. Hope your husband has a speedy recovery and you get rest.

I got the impression Rueda's son is no longer alive, or so bonkers he can't function. Alina's no good, but her immediate boy-toy is so obsessed that I'm thinking he was already vulnerable before he hooked up with Alina.

Why is Nico so besotted with Alina? I don't doubt that it's the best sex he's ever had, but honestly he should see through her by now.

If there was ever a teenager with the right to rule a parent's love life, Mia, Lola, and Nico are not it. Those three are messed up, and for no discernible reason. I'm giving Fede a break because he was loyal to his mom against Miriam and protective of her against the workers badmouthing her. Raq and Santi really should give it a full year though before they start a relationship. Everything is too raw now. But then, we wouldn't have this story.

UA: Bebo was on the phone with Nacho during Carolina's murder.

I believe he might be an accomplice.

Niece--I'm willing to give Nico a break, too, because when they had their conversation he said, oh, he knows they like each other, everybody does, Santi and Raq are the only ones who don't. He went on to say that he doesn't care what they do, but IF they do, it will only raise suspicion about their complicity in the accident (or as near as I could translate and expound).

Fede, so far, has gone along with whatever Mia wanted or suspected and almost got "killed" for it (talking to Gaby). He's tired of her accusations and is ready to give the whole thing a rest. Lest we forget, he went along with Mia's revenge against Joaquin. She has the kernels of rage and revenge that could explode. What's it to say that he might have gone along with some crazy idea to hurt Carolina--hmmm, one or the other would have needed a driver's license for sure and we've never seen them drive. Although I'd like Mia to be charged with something, provoking the accident is a little far fetched.

Jar, you said, "Rafael meets with Rueda and wants to be put on his payroll (?) I don’t know what information he says he might have for Rueda." If you really want to know, Rafael told Rueda he has some information that would seal Nacho's fate, but he needs some "lana" to add to his "retirement fund." He told Rueda he's being investigated by the police (internal affairs, I guess) and might lose his job, so he needs some additional income. Rueda says he'll only play if the information is good enough.

As for poor Bebo, he's in financial straits to come up with money to pay Alina for his father's defense. Therefore, he's accepting money and a job to do from Rafael. You can tell by the look on his face he's reluctant because he knows it's a dirty job, but he takes the package. If he gets caught and convicted, there's no way he'll be able to get out.

It's unclear if Bebo was on the phone with Nacho at the time of the murder. That's what Nico is charged with finding out from the phone company. Bebo was still in prison at the time and dates could have been mixed up. But he was sure Nacho was already back in M.D.F.

You have to admit, Mia was hysterical when she heard her father was in an accident, alive, but maybe wasn't going to live. She went bonkers at the hospital, too. Was this a natural reaction or something over the top? Hmmmm. More mystery.

Anita, I didn't realize Nico had been so understanding with his dad. I'll give him a break too.

I'll admit, along with Fede, I was down with Mia's plan to wreck Joaquin's car. But she lost me when she and her friend stripped and instagrammed Joaquin. I wouldn't put anything pass Mia. She needs a good psych most urgently.

The difference between Fede and Mia is that Mia blames Damian for Damian cheating.

I thought Mia blamed Raquel for Damian's cheating...she wasn't "taking CARE of him" or her children. She accused her of sleeping with Santi long before the accident--the little twerp.

Sorry, Mia blames Raquel for Damian cheating.

Mia also told her friend Julieta that Raquel was probably having sex with one of the kitchen reno workers, then watched Damian & Raquel having sex, then told Julieta she was disgusted by Raquel & Damian having sex, to which Julieta replied that she would be happy if her parents were having sex.

Fede doesn't blame Raquel for what Damian did.

For all who are waiting for a recap for last night, I'll put up a header so you can start discussing the episode. It's getting serious....Santi and Raq finally say "te amo."
