Caer en Tentación #44, 12/21/17, Jueves: Sex, Lies, and Surveillance

Chapter 44: Sex, Lies, and Surveillance

Mostly just the facts, with only the most important conversations.

Damián and Carolina began devouring each other at the business. Carolina tried to resist, telling him that Santiago was watching her more than ever. He would not be deterred despite that their spouses could have been in the next room.

Federico was with Sabrina in her bedroom and on her bed. She had gotten on top of him, removed her blouse, and was kissing him intensely. He was not responding immediately, as she had expected. He did roll over to be on top of her and she proceeded to remove his vest. They continued kissing and she started to unbutton his shirt. He pulled away and sat on the couch.
What's up?” she asked.
Nothing.”
What is it? Are you afraid?” When he did not answer she asked “Is it your first time?”
Yes. You?”
Also. But I want to.”
She closed in on him and tried to sit astride his lap as she kissed him. A few seconds later he pushed back so that she was sitting beside him instead.
I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I can't.” He tried to catch his breath. She looked confused.

Nicolás and Lola were cleaning up the kitchen after dinner. She was distracted and accidentally knocked down and broke a couple of plates. She told her brother that she was worried about upcoming exams. Nico was sure she was really worried about Juan. She told him that she wasn't seeing him anymore and that he was a sick person who needed therapy and that he loved her. Nicolás called it as he saw it, saying that Juan was a psychopath and that he had repeatedly tried to warn her about this. Lola started arguing with him, then the phone rang. It was Carolina telling her that she was in the city with Lisa dealing with a serious problem.
In reality Carolina was in the bed she had shared with Damián as Damián emerged from the bathroom dressed only in a towel.

Later Lola was preparing dinner. Nicolás had gone out to the city. Santiago came down and offered to help. They teased each other and talked about her going out with her female friends on the weekend.

Federico was lying on his bed. Raquel knocked before entering. She told him that his father was going to be a little late for dinner and that Mia begged off, saying she wasn't hungry.
I'm not hungry,” he said.
Do you want to wait for your father?”
No; I'd rather stay in my room.”
What's the matter, love? Why aren't you hungry?”
Mother, I don't know what's happening to me. All the guys at school talk about girls and women and I'm not interested.” He looked at his mother for a reaction. “Is that normal?”
You're not interested in girls? Is that it?”
No, no,” he said, sitting up. “Are you thinking I'm gay?” He started to leave the room.
No, no, no. I'm not thinking anything; just asking; nothing else,” she said as she took his hand. “Talk to me. Nothing's going to happen.”
And if I was? What then?”
Nothing, son. Nothing. It doesn't matter. I'm here to help you. It doesn't matter to me what you do, what you know, it doesn't matter what makes you happy. I'm your mother. I love you with all my heart. You are the most beautiful thing in my life. I want you to be happy. When you love you will love whomever you love. It doesn't matter what other people say. No, love. It is your life.”
That's the problem. It's my life and it doesn't matter who I love. I don't know what to do, Mother.”
You don't have to do anything. Don't do anything. When you know what to do, you will be calm. When love arrives above all it will be the most beautiful person in the world to you. Think about it. It won't matter if it's a man or a woman. I won't make any difference, Fede. It won't matter. What will matter is that it's good for you, you will feel loved and it is the person you love. That's what's important. I'm here. I love you, son.”
How will Dad answer this?”
We will have to discover that.”

Damián was lying next to Carolina, telling her that he wanted to spend the entire night with her an how much he wanted her. She reminded him it was late. And the pain she experienced was the reminder that her pregnancy was regarded as High Risk. She began to bleed. Both began to panic.

Bebo was selling Damián's stolen watches and cuff links, but was disappointed at the money because he knew they were much more. He had no time to say anything because the police rushed in and grabbed him. Rafael and Rueda watched the arrest from inside Rueda's car; Rafael asked for his payment. He almost laughed as the police car pulled away from the curb.

Santiago sat on the bed and checked his cell phone. He texted Raquel asking if she could talk. She replied “Not now, I will let you know.” He left her a voice mail telling her he could not be without her, that he needed to talk to her. That he could not believe they were obliged to stay apart. He said he was getting a hotel room and would let her know where to meet.
He took his jacket and car keys and told Lola he was going out. When she asked where he was going he told her that he had to do something he couldn't talk about it.
Raquel listened to his voicemail and was about to leave the house. Jovita noticed her and she asked her housekeeper “Do you believe there is a moment when you know you want something with your whole soul and nobody else approves?”
Raquel, do it. Be happy. You have suffered much; you deserve to be happy.”

Laura arrived home to find Fernando coming down the stairs with a suitcase. As far as he was concerned there was nothing to talk about. The photo of Juan sealed it for him. All she had wanted was revenge for his past infidelity. She tried to stand in his way, but he pulled back, telling her not to touch him. He then walked out.

Nicolás sat in Alina's office waiting for her. She came in wearing a skirt with a conspicuous zipper down the center front. He confronted her about Sammy. She told him simply that Sammy had worked there before him in the same capacity, and she was tired of his questions. Her cell rang and he asked whether she was going to answer. It was Bebo, telling her about the arrest. She told him she would be right there. At Nicolás' question, she told him that Bebo had been caught with stolen merchandise.

Santiago waited in the hotel room past the time he had expected to. He put on his jacket and was about to leave when Raquel entered. She wore a black sleeveless blouse and matching pants that clung just enough to be sexy without compromising that she was a lady. They kissed after an initial awkward moment.
You know that when you're nervous you don't stop talking?” he asked.
I? Of course not!”
When you're happy it shows in your eyes and when you're annoyed there is a little vein that pops out on your forehead-–”
They continued kissing as they moved over to the bed, shedding garments along the way.
Later as they lay in the candlelight with two unfinished glasses of wine on the nightstand, they knew that their connexion had become deeper than they had imagined.
I can't believe it.”
Can't believe what?”
Your skin, your eyes, your kisses...I never imagined. It never went through my head –”
That I could be something other than a friend?” She laughed quietly.
And you?”
I? I spent a lot of time looking only at one person. Never did I imagine that I would love anyone else ever again. Then you embraced me in your strong arms and I was lost.”
But –”
Our children are not in agreement.”
Ah. They love us, they will realize that we love each other. When they realize that this is real, that we love each other, they will understand.”
I'm not so sure.”

Mia sat at the desk in Federico's room, seitching the lamp on and off until it woke him. When he woke she told him that their mother was not in her room; she had gone out without saying anything.
Did the hospital call?”
Don't be a fool. She went to Santiago.”

Bebo was being dragged into the police station. He protested his innocence. Alina was already there and she told him she was there to help him. Antonio told her that the handcuffs were necessary because he had been resisting arrest. He further told her that the stolen merchandise included watches with serial numbers which revealed that they belonged to Damián Becker; the watches also bore his initials. There also were cufflinks [mancuernillas]. Alina pointed out that Bebo had never been in the Becker house, but Antonio said that Nacho had, as he had worked there. This was all still speculation. Alina pointed out that even a robbery doesn't have to connect to an attack.

Fernando arrived at his former bachelor pad. Cinthia was awake and asked whether he'd like her to prepare something for him. He paused for a moment, then said he should check into a hotel. Cinthia was about to argue the point but his cell rang. He told Antonio that he would be right in. He told Cinthia that someone had tried to sell stolen jewelry that had belonged to her brother-in-law. She looked afraid as he walked out the door.

Raquel arrived home to find her children awake and waiting for her.
Still up? Why are you still awake at this hour? Did something happen?”
Where have you been?” Mia asked, as though she were the mother rather than the daughter.
Out for a walk.”
We asked Jovita if she knew where you were.”
You woke Jovita up –”
We were worried about you, Mother,” said Federico.
Nothing happened.”
Or maybe something had happened to Dad –”
Then I would have told you. Nothing happened. I went out because I needed some fresh air. Now I'm tired and want to go to bed.” She started up the stairs.
I don't believe a word,” Mia said.
Mia, enough with your delusions,” Federico said.
I'm going to show you I'm right,” she said, taking out her cell.
Who are you calling at this hour?”
She had called Lola, who was up.
I'm looking for my mother. Is she with Santiago at your house?”
Santiago walked in at that moment.
No. They're not together because my dad is asleep in his room.”
Are you sure?”
Yes, I'm sure. You want me to pass the phone to him?”
No, don't worry. Good night. Thanks.”
Mia ended the call.
So?”
Santiago didn't leave the house.”
Satisfied? Or are you going to wake up the whole world because you can't sleep?”
Somebody is not telling the truth.”
Mia, Mother isn't lying like Dad did. Okay? Good night.”
He went upstairs. Jovita, who had not been able to sleep after being awakened, was downstairs and heard at least part of this.

Santiago asked about Nico, who was not home.
He hasn't returned. Where were you?” Lola asked.
With Raquel.”
I imagined so.”
Why aren't you reacting like Mia?”
Because I'm not like her. I don't dramatize things; I prefer to understand them first.”
Lola, simply, I'm in love with Raquel.”
I don't want to hear this,” she said, starting to walk away.
Lola, I don't owe your mother anything.”
I understand you, but you also have to understand me. A little while ago my reality was you and my mother. Of course there were problems. But it was the most beautiful chapter in my life when I was little.” She began crying. “Because I was with you and that was how it was. She deceived us and I hate her for that, but I miss her and I wish she were here so I could ask her why she did this. But I can't because she is dead. You were honest so I have to be honest with you. I can't see you with another woman. I can't.”
She went upstairs before he could say more. Nicolás arrived.
Nico, it's a little late for you to have still been working.”
Dad, Bebo has been arrested.”
Santiago could only stare.

Laura called Rafael, wanting to know what he knew about Fernando and Cinthia. He told her that this was about the theft of Damián's watches, but Laura didn't believe him. She told him that Cinthia was staying at Fernando's bachelor apartment and she was convinced that he was having an affair with her. Rafael looked as though he thought she had lost her mind.

Santiago texted Raquel that Mia had called his house to check up on them and that Lola had covered for them. She thanked him for the information and said she would see him the next day.
Jovita checked up on Raquel, who told her that she felt like a delinquent teenager with all that was going on. Jovita had come to tell her she had heard Mia on the phone with Lola and Raquel was upset trying to understand her children.
Jovita, this is my life. I can't permit myself to watched. I can't permit this to stop me living my life. I hate having to lie to my children. I hate my daughter blaming me for everything. This just breaks my heart.”

Santiago could not believe that Bebo was being accused of grand theft and could not understand how this could have happened. Nicolás tried to explain that Alina was taking care of this, but Santiago insisted upon going to the police station. He was upset and Nicolás saw that he had been crying. He asked about that and Santiago told him about his conversation with Lola. “What do you think?” he asked his son.
I've told you what I think. Good night.”
He went upstairs to bed.

The following morning Laura pounded on the door of Fernando's apartment until Cinthia opened the door. She recognized Laura, who barged in right away, demanding to see Fernando. He was not there and Cinthia said she was living there alone. Laura didn't accept this and began to give her the third degree about the “affair,” citing the list of calls and messages on Fernando's cell phone. Cinthia told her that this was not proof of infidelity “but of your insecurity.” She told her that she and Fernando had a deal. Laura knew that this had been about Rafael, but this was not enough. She demanded that Cinthia leave Fernando alone. She also reminded her that she could be a dead woman for betraying Rafael.

Raquel went to the police station and Fernando escorted her into Antonio's office. They handed her a brown envelope that contained Damián's stolen watches and cufflinks, telling her whom they recovered them from. She said she didn't know Bebo. They told her he was Nacho's son and asked when she had first noticed that these things were missing. She said it was three weeks previously and that she didn't report it because there were too many problems already and she didn't want to deal with more police matters. Antonio asked about the people coming and going in her house and she explained that there were few. Her housekeeper, her children, and her children's friends, and she had no reason to suspect any of them.
Has your sister lived in your house?” Fernando asked.
Yes.”
I repeat, Señora,” Antonio said. “Do you suspect anyone?”

Laura knew about Cinthia's addictions. She provoked her more with words like “delinquent” and “prostitute.” Cinthia grabbed her and tried to drag her to the door. This ended with Laura falling to the floor. She refused to allow Cinthia to help her up. She got to her feet on her own.
You aren't that young, or that pretty. You would need much more than that to hold onto a man like Fernando.”
Fernando is protecting me, but there is nothing between us. Really. I was stupid to get mixed up with Rafael and for that I'm in debt to the police.”
Laura paused for a moment.
Don't tell my husband anything about this. I'm going to give you a piece of advice. Get out of here. Get far away from here where nobody can find you. Not the police, not Rafael, not anybody.”
She walked out. Cinthia looked as though she would be sick.

Alina explained Bebo's situation to Santiago and Lola. The hypothesis was that Nacho stole the items and passed them on to Bebo. Santiago denied that this was possible. Alina told them that they would need to demonstrate their innocence. Santiago raised the issue of possible police corruption and Alina said that they would need to connect that to someone. That's when Rueda's name came into the conversation. This became a heated discussion leading to another hypothesis from Alina, that Nacho was extorting money from Damián. Lola became concerned about Bebo, who would end up in prison once again.

Of course, the story of Bebo's arrest was on the evening news. Rafael was in the studio when Laura was on the air, gloating at showing Laura that Fernando was cheating on her. When the cameras were shut off and Laura got up from the desk she approached Rafael and told him that he should enjoy his freedom while he could because he had an enemy. She knew of his dealings with a major narco trafficante from having searched through Fernando's papers. Further, that someone he trusted will be betraying him. That someone was Cinthia Cohen.

Santiago managed to visit visit Nacho in his cell. Nacho knew that Bebo had been arrested. Santiago then asked “What happened with my wife? Was it you?”

UA: I KNEW Bebo was going to get busted!

Laura was dead wrong for outing Cinthia to Rafael. She needs to realize Fernando DOES NOT WANT HER, that's why he cheated, that's why he's using this excuse of Juan to leave her. All that advice she gave Lola about valuing herself, she needs to take her own advice.

Raquel wouldn't feel like a delinquent teen if she wasn't acting like a delinquent teen. Stop kow-towing to Mia. If Mia doesn't like it, Mia can go live with Miriam. She's old enough to make her own decisions and so is Raquel.

Lola has this fantasy of the perfect home life and that simply was not the case. IMO she is opposed to the Santiago/Raquel union not because she doesn't like Raquel, but because Santiago moving on destroys the fantasy of that perfect home life. If Santiago remains alone for the rest of his life, then Lola and Nico can fantasize that Santiago & Carolina's love was so pure, so grand, that he will be in love with her for the rest of his life and never betray that love with a new woman.

When the reality is, Carolina lied to them for 3 years, betrayed them for 3 years and was really only thinking of herself. And Santiago was no perfect angel either because he barked at Carolina for wanting to have a life outside of him & the kids. And Lola knows this because Santiago didn't want Lola working either (and could be why he's sticking Lola with the care of Benjamin).

I think Lola & Nico will eventually come around to a Raquel/Santiago pairing. I think Fede will eventually come around as well, as he gains a life for himself. Mia never will and Raquel needs to set some firm boundaries with her.

I personally can see Mia trying to come on to Santiago and set it up so that Raquel sees them together, to bust them up.

Urban, beautiful.

Your conversation translations are wonderful and provide so much missed information.

I am not Raquel's biggest fan yet "It doesn't matter to me what you do, what you know, it doesn't matter what makes you happy. I'm your mother. I love you with all my heart. You are the most beautiful thing in my life. I want you to be happy. When you love you will love whomever you love. It doesn't matter what other people say" tugged at my heartstrings.

Anon 207, I completely agree with you that Raquel is a grown woman and certainly does not need to answer to Mia.

So many damaged souls...

The "children" are not letting the ghosts of Caro and Damian go. I still cannot see how Raquel and Santiago can move on from such ravaged, raw beginnings. They need to heal their relationships with their children and this ill advised romance is not the right course. I'm sure I'm in the minority here but...

If Alina can get Bebo freed, she is a miracle worker. Granted a predatory one but miracle it will be nevertheless.

Lola's "A little while ago my reality was you and my mother. Of course there were problems. But it was the most beautiful chapter in my life when I was little" rang true to me and while Lola may be seeing the past through rose colored glasses, I do believe they were a happy family once upon a time.

Santiago's query of Nacho. Is the best defense a good offense? Everyone is still a suspect to me.

Cin is eyeing Laura's husband and I feel as though I should be applauding her put down of Cin. But I'm not. Laura is too driven and too ruthless.

Urban, thank you so much!

Diana

Urban--I also appreciate so much the translations of the dialog. We all SEE pretty much what is happening, but many of us are unused to rapid (or low, mumbling) Spanish, overwritten large by the musical score. So this is a really big thank you. Now, on to savor every word.

Diana--I saw your comment last night about not being aware Santi had thought (maybe not so much thought as lack thereof) of leaving Caro. It was during one of their stormy arguments where he was pleading to know what was wrong with her and he asked if he should leave the house. That phrase is used liberally in many tns to mean a separation, but that's what he meant. He asked Caro a couple of times if that is what she wanted. She was silently considering it. I THINK she already knew she was pregnant; either that or she saw herself as a single mother with two teenagers and a part ownership in a catering business, so she said no.

Anon207--I must repeat myself--you are always spot-on with your analyses. ITA, with the tiny exception of thinking Mia could pull off setting Santi up. He now only has eyes for Raquel.

We know she can't stand Santi. The idea that he could talk to her or try to give her advice would be the few occasions he could possibly be alone with her. (OK, I concede, she might feign wanting to talk to him to set him up.)

Santi, his family and friends, represent a social world she knew little about until the parents initial contact and friendship. She never became friends with either Lola or Nico, whereas Nico and Fede have been friends since before the little accident Raq had with Santi's truck. Mia has accused Lola of being jealous of all the things she has. She keeps Nico at arms length or pushes him away when he gets close (but then she's had no success with any other boyfriends). Well, from my perspective, Mia is one mixed up pup and Raq has seen that in three years, Mia's off and on therapy has not helped. What's a mother to do?

And now Fede is confused about his sexuality. At least Raquel said all the right things to him in this politically charged arena.

Thank you Urban for an excellent recap including dialogue in the important scenes.

My comment centers around the conversation between Raquel and Federico, Re: his sexual preference. The boy is at most 16. He's confused. But for anyone to try to categorize his sexuality at this point is not really fair. The fairly accepted range now in 2017 seems to be that a person, et alone a teenager, may at any point fall into one of four categories: heterosexual, homosexual, bisexual and asexual.
And there is a continuum of behavior in each category which allows for a fluid, or not so fluid, transition from one to the other. Most folks are at the far end of the heterosexual/homosexual continuum. As a teen, if you are not at either end of the spectrum --and if you are you know it -- then you are in the confused middle. Only a lifetime of sexual behaviors will finally clear up where you fall. And if Fede is emerging as an asexual individual Raquel's advice is only partially right. Why partially? Well if Fede is 'truly asexual' (?), he will probably never find the right person, male or female, to have a long term sexual relationship with. But give the kid a chance. Mia's bratty demand tell me "yes or no - are you gay" is common mistake we all make wanting a 'yes' or 'no' answer to human sexuality.

Thank you for the detailed recap, UA. Thanks for including the dialogue.

The scene with Raq and Fede was very sweet. She understood him completely and didn't judge. That's what every parent should do when in that situation. He was noticeably struggling when attempting to be intimate with Sabrina.

I agree that by the end of this 3 of the 4 kids will be able to accept Santi and Raq's relationship. At this point I can only guess what Mia's fate will be but by the looks of things she could very well pull a Nora Gaxiola before this is over.

It was nice to see Jovita supporting Raq. She knew what Raq was trying to say even when Raq was afraid and nervous to admit her feelings. There is a true love between Raq and Santi but they're gonna have to fight against all odds to be happy. Jovita seems like a mother figure to Raq. She reminds me of Tere in ECDLP. She might be the hired help but is treated like family.

I don't blame Lola for the way she's feeling about her dad's relationship with Raquel. Like she said, she is upset that her mother cheated on her father but she didn't expect her mother to die. That's part of her grieving process.

Laura's behavior and actions are frustrating. I almost laughed when she fell.

Anon207, you are on the money about Lola. She has lived with the illusion of a perfect family until suddenly finding out -- after Carolina's death -- that her mother was stepping out on her dad. Nobody wants to see that happen with their parents. Santiago may be partly to blame for this because his masculine ego needed Carolina to stay home with the kids despite that both Lola and Nicolas were old enough to be home alone for a few hours after school. We know nothing about his parents other than that his father was a cop and a good friend of Antonio's. I wonder whether Santiago's mother cheated on his father...

While I didn't favor it a dozen episodes ago I now think that Mia belongs in an inpatient mental facility. She is becoming dangerous to others as well as herself. Raquel doesn't see this yet. She's feeling the pinch of Mia's paranoia but not the throb after the sting. Jovita is in a position to see and understand this; she's worked for this family for a long time. Raquel will probably listen to her but she needs to tread carefully, too.

For Mia to live with Miriam would not be an acceptable long-term solution. Miriam would only use Mia as a weapon. Having said that, this may be where the writers will go with this.

Laura needs to face reality, too. I don't think she ever loved Fernando. He's attractive, fit, probably a decent lover, and mostly smart but she used information stolen from him to advance her career. He's faced that and is fed up. She has not respected the confidentiality issues within the police department that protect investigations, she is not an ethical journalist, and if anything happens to skanky Cinthia she is responsible for it.

And we can be sure something will happen to Cinthia.

As for the stolen watches and cuff links, we know that Cinthia stole them after Damian ended up in the hospital and gave them to Rafael in exchange for a fraction of their worth. He knew he couldn't fence them because of the serial numbers and the engravings and held onto them for a more likely use: To get money from Rueda to frame someone for the murder of Carolina and the attempt on Damian's life.

Now, with regard to that situation, when was Nacho last in the Becker house? The kitchen remodeling was three years ago. Had there been any reason for him to enter the Becker house since then? Since Damian had several expensive watches, didn't he wear each of them often enough for Raquel to remember the last time she saw either of the two handed back to her?

I don't think we need to speculate on what payment Alina will extort from Bebo if she frees him and his father.

As for whether Mia would try to seduce Santiago to steal him from Raquel, I don't think I'd put it past her now. Of course she would fail because he will see that she is a damaged little girl but there is at least a slight chance that she could fake something pretty incriminating

I don't think Mia cares if Fede is gay or not. What she cares about is him taking an interest in people other than her. Mia is not going to allow Raquel or Fede have romantic relationships with ANYONE because she can't control it. She's also trying to control Nico with the constant phone calls.

Unless & until Mia gets some help, her going the Nora Gaxiola way will be a relief to the people who know her. Raquel & Fede will mourn her but that's about it.

Mia would try to seduce Santiago and set it up so that Fede or Raquel walks in on them. It doesn't matter if the seduction is successful; Mia needs Raquel to be utterly humiliated.

For the record, I don't think Santiago remotely thinks of Mia as a sexual being. He probably thinks of her as a child. However, she did give Santiago a seductive look around the beginning of the novela and Nacho told him to watch out for her.

Alina may well extort sex from Bebo but she's not going to be able to play with Bebo like she played with Sammy and Nico because Sammy and Nico are two young, dumb, naive, inexperienced little boys with raging hormones. Part of Alina's thrill is to be able to play with and control little boys like Sammy and Nico but I don't think she will have that affect on Bebo. Bebo was dumb for trying to sell Damian's watches but I don't think he would fall under Alina's spell.

Did Raquel report the watches and cufflinks as stolen? To my knowledge she just thought they were misplaced around the house. How can you bust somebody for selling stolen goods if the goods were never reported as stolen? If Raquel never reported the watches as stolen and declines to press charges against Bebo, they couldn't hold him, could they?

Anon207--You have a point there, about the "stolen" watches and cuff links. Tonio asked her if she'd reported the theft and she said no. Remember she did think it might have been SinCin but she was really vociferous in her denials. That left Raq with only Jovita and her children. She dismissed them as suspects at the time and figured she had misplaced them. Now she keeps mum about who she might suspect.

Urban--I know I didn't fall asleep, but there was a scene that was not in the broadcast I watched: Mia waking Fede up and then Jovita. Do you think they are starting to use the scissors on CET? I know Ramon ran over, but it has before. I also wonder if Santi's and Raq's love scene was edited. SN has in the past done much more revealing scenes.

Ooops, I meant Marido ran over. They're trying to tie that one up in a hurry to bring on S. Rulli--which I won't be watching (as per Stevey's Report last summer).

Actually the person who could bust this wide open would be LAURA. If Laura found out Raquel never reported the items as stolen, she would question how the police knew the items Bebo was trying to sell was stolen. Then she would question if there was some shenanigans going on with the Carolina/Damian case...the police are trying to railroad an innocent man so they can wrap up the case.

A special note about Laura: I think she does love Fernando but she can't trust him. She can't trust him because he's not an honest person. She's hurt & lashing out at him because she does love him and wants him to feel her pain. So right now she's going to use him for what she can get out of him, since she can't get love out of him. If she was just using him all along for tips, she would've kicked him to the curb and gotten herself a new source.

I think that Fernando is basically an honest cop. We do not yet know the circumstances of him cheating on Laura. could he have done that while undercover? Could she have been as obsessive as Mia and gotten injured in the course of that kind of surveillance? I hope that is eventually explained.

It's Laura whose honesty I really question. She goes on the air with suppositions, speculations, and giving away information the police want to keep to themselves in the interests of the investigation. Journalism has taken quite a nosedive in credibility in recent years and she is demonstrating that in spades in this series. Her boss has no respect for any system of justice.... or even public safety. All he cares about is "If it bleeds, it leads."

Anita, the love scene may have been very slightly trimmed, but it wasn't as long or as intense as SN's scene in LC with the gorgeous Victor Gonzales. If the scene with Mia waking up Fede was removed, it may have been to accommodate Ramon, since a 10PM series has to have a hard stop at 11PM for the news.

OOPs... Marido.

Sebastian Rulli in a comedy (I just looked it up)? I have difficulty picturing that.

The two previous GG novelas were not hacked up by Univision, so I'm not concerned about that possibility yet.

Urban--Stevey called it a dram-edy or a com-a. Either way, I'm tiring of cute, precocious little 6 year-olds. Give me Benjamin any day. I'd love to find out whether he is SN's real son or not. She certainly has a lot of rapport with him.

Looney vision would never think to remove 3 min. of their oft-repeated commercials instead of storyline.

Ads are revenue.

Anon207, some of Mia's more recent clothes still look childish. Her whole attitude is childish... as in Rhoda Penmark from The Bad Seed.

The problem is that she doesn't seem to think there is anything wrong with herself. She has never talked much to either parent about her issues and she is now refusing to see the shrink. All this will add up to a tragedy, I'm sure.

Thanks, Urban.

So sweet of Lola to lie to Mia about her dad's whereabouts.

Yay, Fernando walked out on Laura. Laura is no journalist - she has no standards of justice or of protecting informants if it's not in her own personal self-interest. Looks like her mouth will get Cinthia killed.

No point in Raq hiding that Santi is her novio. Mia will hound her no matter what she does and the police can easily find out she (Raq) and Santi meet up for alone time.

The problem with Raquel and Santiago's relationship is that they may not be able to prove to the police that it didn't happen until after the "accident" and after they knew that Carolina was dead. Miriam is determined to railroad Raquel and anyone else she has to in order to satisfy her own sick need for revenge and to keep everything that belongs to Damian.

Who should have had both a Last Will and a Living Will.

Thank you Urban.good recap.Mia is very
Obsessed about her mother and santi.
Why is it so easy to pin this on her
Mom. She is crazy with this nonsense.
It's her mom's fault thay her father cheated? How sick is that? The girl is
On the verge of doin some insane act of revenge. She is scary.Freakin nutjob
Thatz what she is.

I agree with jovita, raquel do deserve
Happiness, but nobody is happy in this show.No matter how many orgasms they have they're still Miserable. And I do
Not believe Damian and Caro were all
That happy either. They were to busy slipping and dillin hiding.Where's the
Fun in that. These people's lives suck.
They need some joy. And some sanity.

And Damian is sleeping through all the
Fun, that he caused these lovely messy people to have.
I like how honest lola was with her dad. But she's not nuts with it like
Crazyass mia. She was honest with her dad. Not nasty honest like Mia is,who
Has an evil almost hatred for her mom.
Who isn't responsible for damian's bad very bad decision t lust after another
Man's wifey.

Urban as far as last will and living will, Damian probably thought he'd live forever. No worries, he could have his cake and eat it too.He didn't
Need no stinking living will and last will, he was all dat. Now he's Havin
Bed sores and Shrinkage.

THANK you Urban & Marry Christmas yall
