Enamorándome de Ramon, Capítulo 106, Friday, December 29, 2017; Antonio gets Arrested!

We open with yesterday’s ending: “In the church, in front of the priest, Luisa and Finito both accept their promise to love each other faithfully. The priest then asks if anyone has any reason to stop the wedding as Adalgiza walks in and looks at them…

Finito looks back too, and Finito’s assistant (can’t remember his name) also looks back, gets up and spirits Ada away and out of the church. She cries and tells him she loves Finito, but he tells her that when you love someone you wish them well. She finally walks away. Luisa and Finito take their kiss as husband and wife and everyone congratulates them. Finito gives his assistant a big hug and thanks him.

When Luisa and Finito get back to Finito’s room, the code word is AWKWARD! First she asks for help with taking off her dress, but then she changes her mind and wants to talk instead. They decide that they are going to sleep so they can get up and go to the airport the next day.

Ada cries to Fredes about Finito and tells Fredes that her visions and prophecies were incorrect.

Fabi and Ramón talk about getting an apartment together, but Ramón says he really wants to marry her instead. Fabi clarifies that she can’t get married until her divorce is finalized and the settlement reached regarding office practice property that Franc bought with her money. “But”, says Fabi, “Whether married or not married, I am yours.”

Juana and Julio sign the paperwork for the franchise that Andrea is buying.

Osvaldo continues his dirty work/drug dealing at Medfer.

Rosendo, Sofia, and his “gente” discuss their next “merchandise transactions” with the Columbians. But his thugs warn him that Columbians are funny about having a woman present during those “business transactions” and do not like it. Rosendo doesn’t care, they will do things his way.

There seems to be a time lapse of a few months. We see Julio and Juana going out for drinks and Antonio and Margarita enjoying themselves together. Next we see Fabi, looking very obviously pregnant as though she is about 6 months along or more. Ada continues working at the mausoleum place. Benito tells Valente that he just can’t stop thinking about Luisa because they is no one else like his “changita”.

We see Luisa and Finito at home on the couch sitting far apart not really looking like a newly married couple. There is much distance between them. She offers to make him something to eat, but he politely declines.

Julio continues to gamble and loses. But he does bring the paperwork over to Andrea saying that the franchise purchase is completed.

Dalia becomes more serious with Rulo.

Ramón finds an online university program he wants to study in automotive engineering. Fabi tells him to go for it! Later, Ramón takes the entrance exam for the program and gets in.

Andrea and Jorge walk through the orchard with some picked fruit in a basket. [Apparently not all the trees and soil went bad?]

Julio is on the phone with the man he gambles against who is calling in the money he owes him. Apparently, it’s several million pesos that Julio doesn’t have. After getting off the phone he mumbles something to himself about getting some money and trying to figure out how Juana might not notice. Then Jorge calls and asks if Grandma is going to be at that family gathering they are having. Jorge says he really doesn’t want Grandma to go, but Julio tells him he can’t not invite his own mother for an occasion that is so very important for him. [Well, after kidnapping his niece, I don’t see why not? But who says logic and good sense rule here?]

Dalia comes to visit her mother and Finito with some news: She is moving in with Rulo, but Luisa is not happy about it. “I didn’t come to ask your permission, I just came to inform you.” Luisa does not like this at all, but Finito says, “Look your mother is right. You need to live the way God wants you to.” “Look, Finito, don’t interfere”, says Dalia, “you just have no rights here.” Luisa jumps in and says, “Hey, Finito is my husband and you need to have some respect.” Dalia then retorts, “Why should I? He’s nothing to me! Anyway, we have thought about marriage, but we need to think about it first to see if it’s right for us.” Luisa asks, “How will you live?”  Dalia says, “Well I have my salary and Rulo has his. He has everything, big screen TV, a stereo system…we have everything we need. Plus Rulo has an inheritance from his aunt.” Dalia makes a face and says, “Well, I have notified you. I’ll let you know when you can come and visit. Goodbye!”

Julio comes to visit his mother, Horrortensia to invite her to dinner for his engagement party to Juana, but she will have none of it. She says, “And do you think that I’m going to go along and celebrate this stupidity? Over my dead body!” Julio responds, “Well I would think you would like her a little more now after all she did to take care of you.” But Horrortensia says, “Never! She is just a maid and she will always be nothing but a maid. I am not in agreement that you marry her, period.” Julio then says, “Well, I’m going to marry her whether you like it or not. I’m just inviting you so that you can’t say that I didn’t tell you about this.” He turns around and walks out the door. After Julio leaves, Horrortensia looks up and says, “Oh God, why do you punish me this way? Why?”

Luisa calls Juana to tell her about Dalia’s decision to move in with Rulo and about all the doubts she has about it. She asks Juana to talk to Ramón to see if he can talk any sense into her. Juana says she will tell Ramón, but advises that the best thing to do is to not interfere because Dalia will only become more stubborn. After she gets off the phone she tells Ramón but he says pretty much the same thing. He knows Dalia will not listen to him and really won’t listen to anyone.

Porfirio comes to visit Franc in his office. “I suppose you came to find out the status of the sale of the office practice property. Well, there haven’t been any offers.” Porfi replies, “I find it very suspicious that after all this time, not even one buyer has appeared to be interested.” Franc says, “Well what can I say?” Porfi suggests that he find a different real estate agency that will find a buyer for the maximum price. [Hey, I don’t know why Porfi or Marg haven’t checked the Mexican version of MLS to find out how the property is listed and what the asking price is. They are relying solely on what Franc tells them without any evidence.] “Fine” says Franc, “Tell Fabiola so we can discuss it. Oh by the way, your nose is bleeding.” Porfi wipes his nose and tells Franc to tell his lawyer that he will receive a notification.

Dalia calls Rulo and tells him how badly it went with her mother and how they were not in agreement with it. Rulo says not to pay attention to them, have her stuff ready for tomorrow. He gets off the phone and makes a drug deal and collects his money. Os calls him to come to the shop because more “merchandise” is coming in.

Finito and Luisa arrive at a little take-out food place where Benito and Ada are dining. First Luisa says she want to take the food home, but then Benito and Ada finish their dinner and leave.

Franc is driving around and passes by the Medfer shop and finds that something looks like it is going on. “So what are they doing open late on a Saturday night?” He pulls up to take a peek and find that drug dealing is going on and Osvaldo is involved. He calls the police from a pay phone to report that this mechanics shop is dealing drugs. He mentions the owner’s name is Antonio Fernandez. He drives away saying he is going to kick that whole family in the butt and Fabiola is never going to get rid of or forget him.

The boys at the shop finish their drug transactions and the drug dealer drives away. Rulo is a little bit surprised that Os asked for the payment in more drugs instead of money.

At home, Finito and Luisa discuss what they thought of how Benito and Ada appeared. “You just never know what is really going on,” says Finito. Luisa agrees, then gets up to clean up but Finito says he will take care of it. She bids him goodnight. Finito just sighs…

At Luisa’s old place, Ramón and Valente discuss Dalia’s going to live with Rulo. She hears them and says, “Are you talking about me?” Then she says, “I’m moving in with him tomorrow!”  Ramón and Valente try to reason with her, but she says to Ramón: “Who are you to give me love advice? There you were with Sofia, then Fabiola, then back to Sofia and then back with Fabiola again.” Ramón says, “Well I just don’t want you to regret this later and be hurt.” Dalia replies, “Look I know who Rulo is.” She glances at Valente and says, “And if someone else had wanted me forever….” But Valente just sort of shrugs it off.

Fabi asks Juana if she is nervous about tomorrow. Juana says she is just glad that Horrortensia is not going. Fabi asks, “Do you know where you are going on your honeymoon?” “No Julio hasn’t said anything about it yet.” Fabi says, “Well tell him to take you to Cancún. It’s beautiful there.”

Meanwhile, Julio is at the gambling casino thinking about how to win some money back. He comes home, no luck at the gambling table at all. He mumbles to himself as he is pouring himself a drink at home. Os walks in and Julio tells him not to forget the family gathering tomorrow for his engagement party. But Os says, “Forget it. I’m not going. I’m not ever going to accept that a maid will take the place of my mother!” “Look, I’m just telling you so that you know that when we get married, Juana is going to come and live here.” But Os in his own disrespectful way says, “I’m just watching how low you have gone, Dad.” [Oh I don’t know, do we think that drug dealing is better behavior than marrying the maid?] Os goes to his room to put away his booty for the night. “If he thinks I’m going to live with that servant…well now at least I have plenty to live on.”

Next day everyone is getting ready for the engagement party. Jorge gives Ramón his best wishes that his dad will be marrying his mother and is very happy for them.

At Benito’s Fredes tells Benito that the food is ready. He’s writing a letter to Luisa as his “changita”. Ada comes out too, looking very sad and Fredes scolds them for being depressed.

Os is out and about doing more drug deals in a bar. He thinks he is so smart.

Julio and Jorge arrive to pick up the ladies and Julio is in awe of how lovely Juana looks and says she is like a lovely butterfly who came out of the cocoon.

On the phone, Luisa tells Dalia to please think about what she is doing. She is not going to the engagement party because she is waiting for Rulo. Luisa is visibly upset when Finito comes out and he comforts her in his arms.

The police with several cars pull up to Medfer and cut off the gate’s locks.

Rulo and Chavo are cleaning up the place. Chavo asks if it’s going to be easy keeping Dalia from knowing about their “business”. Rulo says, “Oh, I’ll just buy her something nice and she will relax. No problem.” Rulo goes on, “Dalia is the love of my life.”. [I guess Dalia thinks Rulo is some great catch too.] Dalia is at home and packs her things telling herself about how much Rulo loves her. She calls him and says she is ready, but he will need to come pick her up in a car because she has a lot of things to bring. “No problem”, says Rulo. “I’ll just borrow my neighbor’s car. See you soon!”

At Medfer, the police discover a substantial amount drugs hidden at the shop. Rulo happens to drive by and sees the police there and knows the anvil has now dropped on their “business”.

The family is at the restaurant celebrating together and unbeknownst to Antonio what is going on at his shop, the drug raids are happening.

Rulo panics and calls Os who is at his apartment building parking garage. The police come running up to the guard to ask for Antonio. Os tries to get away and the police ask where Antonio is, so Os tells them. He quickly goes up to his apartment and starts grabbing his things to make his escape.

Porfi is at his place feeling very sick again. He has a non-stop headache that won’t go away, so he calls his doctor. The doctor asks him to come in to his office for the next morning. For the meantime, the doctors tells Porfi what meds to take and how often.

At the family gathering, Julio starts to make his speech, thanking everyone and telling the story of how they began to look at each other with different eyes. [Is that what a million dollars does?] Juana says she is going to do all she can so that they will be happy. The family begins to toast when the police arrive asking for Antonio. The manager asks Julio who Antonio Fernandez is. Antonio hears and answers saying, “I’m Antonio, who is asking?” The police walk in and say, “You are under arrest for trafficking drugs.” Antonio is stunned.

Just perfect Cynthia! As were all your other wry asides in red. What a painful episode last night was. The worst for me was that sad, juiceless little scene in the hotel after the wedding ceremony. Luisa and Finito both uncomfortable with each other and not feeling even a speck of desire. And his obvious relief when she said "Let's talk. Shall we? Not much time until we have to head to the airport for our flight." Sad, sad, sad after all the amorous, rambunctious couplings we saw with Benito.

Went on to watch the Cotton Bowl until my eyeballs were absolutely fried and finally went to bed at 1 am. Couldn't sleep so spent my time wondering how Luisa and Benito were going to get together without someone dying (church wedding after all). But it's clear, to me at least, that this sad little couple has never consummated their union, so hopefully an annulment is in the works.

As always, enjoyed your screen shots and your smooth, well-edited writing Cynthia. Looking forward to shoveling some snow later on this morning. You California folks don't know what you're missing! A snowing morning is truly beautiful and as long as it's not 10 inches of wet, heavy snow, shoveling is actually fun.

JudyB who will NOT be NudyB when she's out there working on the driveway. (although that strategy might get me some help from the neighbors)

Thank You Cynthia on this cooold shivering morning. Fifty here this AM. (50) OK go ahead and laugh, but to us YoHoes here in the Funshine state, it is C O L D and forecast to get colder.

OK now that everyone knows how we are suffering down here, on to the madness.

First: Antonio, even an airplane will eventually crash if left on autopilot forever. Maybe we will finally see you in some nice tan clothing which fits. What happened to that little 'meeting' if you will, ShirtBuster had with the employees a few episodes ago wherein he decreed that the shop would be off limits to employees after hours? Did the cow assigned to enforce that fly away?

After last night, actually, Dally and Ruh-Roh are a fairly good match. She just needs a 'Tramp Stamp' above her waist on the back side and a nose ring and she will be good to go. They guy doesn't even own a frigging car. She, being in a TN, just has that one pull-along, call a dam cab, that is what everyone else does when they 'MOVE' !
Did I mention how much I dislike cold? I don't live in FloriDuh to hang out with Q-Tips.

The makeup department appears to have given Fab just that slight little 'glow' which pregnant women have that makes them so beautiful. Nice job. She NOW seems to need to ho;d her belly because of the baby rather than for that gaping hole that metal toothpick seemed to have left in her.

At least we finally saw Wanna? wearing something that didn't look to be made of draperies from a house trailer. Pig Tails still there, though, it appears they were just tucked onto each other.

You have to give credit where credit is due, Dr. Cyst uses his head for something more than to display that beautiful hare(sp). He doesn't miss much, and of course he appears to be able to be at several different places at the same time. BTW, what Doctor drives a red Camry?

As banging Marg like a drum seems to be the only thing Antonio has paid ANY attention to for some time now, he should be able to set up the conjugal visits and continue to pursue that endeavor.

Cynthia, your editorial comments in red were the icing on the cake.

"snowy morning" not "snowing morning". My comments are not as well edited as you recap...but then my eyeballs are still fried!

Wow...was expecting three inches but it was more like five. Still, light fluffy stuff so not hard to handle. And the next door neighbor's dog was out having a blast and it was fun to play with her as well. Love the first real snow of the Winter but I'm sure it will get tiresome later on. Not now though.

Very depressed by the Porfirio story line. Had a friend who died of leukemia years ago and one of the nurses warned us that it would be possible that Becky would suddenly hemorrhage all over. So we were prepared for the worst, but her last night was peaceful with her friends and family and Lab retriever all gathered 'round her. But gone too soon. And I fear so will Porfirio.

Well, judyb, we are at our favorite b and b at the shore, and we had snow\ice overnight. Since it is a three hour drive home and the tv reports are showing accidents , we decided to stay here tonight. We were lucky that there was a cancellation ... the room directly above ours . Out if 35 rooms on this property, only one other is empty. So, we are hunkering down with cups of hot tea until tomorrow.

Okay, back to reading the recap, making ornaments, reading, and relaxing before we set out for a snowy walk .

Stay warm and dry, all.

Kirby..poor baby. It was in the teens here last night, and now it is somewhere in the 20s...and lightly snowing. Bah humbug.

Judyb...yes, poor POrf. why did the writers decide that this poor guy needed even more tragedy. He did not get the girl, and now, he is sick. One of my best friends has been battling lung cancer for the last two years. #crap

Camcer is such a horrible disease Susanlynn and the treatment often seems worse than the illness it is purporting to treat. As you say #crap! Sure not needed in a supposedly happily ever after telenovela. Hate it when they kill off the good guys.

Thank you, Cynthia.

I think Francystco actually did a good thing. As a good citizen that he is, he noticed some illicit activity and reported it to the police. Now, if it doesn't destroy MedFer, it will clean out the dirt.

I agree with Dalia, what's up with everybody, mind your own business. She has been Rulo's girlfriend for months and they decided to live together. Very reasonable. It is another story that she is up for a rude awakening.

What exactly was the point of the engagement party? Is Julio really in love with Juana and wants to show it off to the world, before really marrying her? That doesn't make sense. On the other hand, he already has his hands on all Juana's financial assets he will ever have. So why the charade?

Lucio...I am getting mixed messages from Julio. Sometimes, he seems to be actually falling in love with Juana, but then, he is still gambling , sabotaging the farm, and trying to get his hands on that money. I thought at the beginning of this show that the writers might have him fall in love and change his wicked ways, but it is getting a little late to do that now.

Yoo, you people from the frozen areas are beginning to awake? Good.
SusanLynn I agree about Wolfio, I have not a clue. My gut feeling is that it is all just part of his game plan, especially now that we are beginning to see a bit of desperation when no one is looking.

It appears that Wolfio's run of good luck earlier when he was walking out with BIG winnings is over (Imagine THAT !) He has exhausted every source of money aside from outright stealing from Wanna? and the girls, which hopeofully will be his next move. It is his turn to repay us for having to sit here and watch him be the smelly rotten manure that he is by allowing his desperate need for more money to be his downfall. Now THAT'S entertainment.

Cynthia, thank you for this excellent and much fun recap!

Jeez, Louise! Finito and Luisa had a million opportunities and reasons to put off the wedding, and didn't. Luisa, especially, looked very happy getting married, but once married THEN they start thinking "Uh, maybe not a great idea..." What???

JudyB/NudyB: "...never consummated their union, so hopefully an annulment is in the works." Thank you for reminding me about annulments. I had a cousin who had TWO marriages annulled. (His kids were just thrilled about it.)

And the "[NudyB] strategy might get me some help from the neighbors" had me laughing. Hey, if you can take the cold, go for it! Even better than a Tom Sawyer ploy.

Dalia is major cute, but if she would sleep with someone like Rulo... Well, not even with a 10 foot pole.

There do seem to be two Julios.

Thank you, Cynthia! Excellent recap and great screenshots!

I can relate with Kirby...it's in the 50s here too and I am freakin' cold...dreading next week when it'll get down to the 30s BRRRRR. Judy, glad you had such a good time shoveling snow. The only thing I shovel is mud :-/

I do not believe for a second that Julio is in love with Wanna...it's all a show. His only love is gambling and getting his grubby hands on the money to support it...and now he owes that other man 400,000 pesos! Andrea and Jorge are like two little do-do-birds fluttering around their farm without a care in the world that will soon be crushing down on them when Julio blows all the money.

Dalia is hopeofully going to get what she deserves...and pleeeaase TN Gods, don't let Valente be there to pick up her sorry ass!

Don't like what they're doing to Poorfi, either. If there's a guy in this TN that deserves to live happily ever after, it's him. He just had that little hiccup with Vero, but that is long forgotten along with Vero.

Kirby, the make-up department did well, I agree. The hair stylists need to be kicked to the curb...the actors could probably do a better job on their own.

FOrgot to mention...

JudyB, "The worst for me was that sad, juiceless little scene in the hotel after the wedding ceremony. Luisa and Finito both uncomfortable with each other and not feeling even a speck of desire. And his obvious relief when she said "Let's talk. Shall we? Not much time until we have to head to the airport for our flight." Sad, sad, sad after all the amorous, rambunctious couplings we saw with Benito." ITA, now that was depressing as heck! Why in the world did these two get married?!

That scene was sooooo uncomfortable to watch, RGV Chick. And really, shoveling mud is a whole lot harder than shoveling snow. And not nearly as beautiful. We have a dark brown fence in our back yard and watching the snow falling down against that backdrop is truly lovely.

AndyBanda...did not go for the NudyB Strategy today (even my thumbs were getting cold in my double-strength mittens) but do have a funny story about snow shoveling. My husband never helps and I used to find myself thinking VERY VERY UNKIND THOUGHTS about him as I toiled away. Then I decided I was doing myself more harm than good and decided to reframe thoughts in a positive fashion.

Went like this: God, I want a husband who helps me shovel. I want a husband who helps me shovel. I want a husband who helps me shovel. etc. etc. etc. And worked away happily. Until suddenly I hear a great roar. And here came TWO HUSBANDS with snow blowers. They were SOMEBODY'S husband. Just not mine. And they both helped me finish the drive.

God, or the Universe, or Whoever is Out There has a great sense of humor. Have never forgotten that day. Laughed myself silly. And have never minded shoveling on my own anymore. Just changed my whole outlook. Silly? Maybe. But I'm a whole lot happier now.

"Why in the world did these two get married?!" because Finita is one of those half guys with one nut and one ovary who HAD to be with somebody. Luisa, out of plain old fashioned female spite. (See Wikipedia 'SoFurious')

Oh and AndyBanda, don't know much about canon law but your cousin must have some serious ecclesiastical pull if he managed TWO annulments, and with kids no less! I would be sure to never get on his bad side.

Thank you Cynthia. Exceptional screen shots and recap.

"Well, after kidnapping his niece, I don’t see why not? But who says logic and good sense rule here?]". Exactly.

"There is much distance between them. She offers to make him something to eat, but he politely declines" was hard to watch.

"She is just a maid and she will always be nothing but a maid". And you are nothing but an ass Oz.

The comments were excellent as always. Thank you for bringing some needed sunshine into a dismal day.

I received a heartbreaking phone call earlier today. A friend of mine died of a massive heart attack.

To all of you, I urge you to live hard, laugh often and loudly and always ensure the last words you say to others is kind and caring.

Diana

Diana...very good advice. Live, love, laugh while you can.

P.s. As to shoveling..Hubba was shoveling walnuts over the fence into the woods in the fall.

Oh, it's Teatime.

(((Diana)))..so sorry to hear about your friend.

My heartfelt sympathy, (((Diana)))

"live hard, laugh often and loudly and always ensure the last words you say to others is kind and caring." Words to live by, we never know when out time or that of a loved will come.

...and we know how to laugh here on the patio !!

CHickie...SInce Valente has not been matched up with anyone else, I suppose that dilly Dally is going to get that prize . Not right, but I think that might happen. RUlo and THe Wizard of OOze are probably being processed for their jail terms . How about the bad doctor Fran? Death? i hate the idea of him getting any money from that divorce. How about Sofia? Also death? How about Hor...nursing home living the remainder of her life harassing the staff and other old folks?

P.s. I just read a book about QUeen Victoria and her husband Albert. They were first cousins . They were supposedly madly in love and had nine children. When and how are Jorge and Andrea going to find out that they are not related? Maybe it doesn't matter because they don't seem to care anymore.

Thank you for your comments everyone! BTW, it is 66 degrees here in Los Angeles. :)

Diana: I am so sorry about your friend. My heartfelt sympathies go out to you.

It was so sad to see Luisa with Finito not having any intimate fun. It just seems to me that she could have made the best of it and learned to love him because he is such a nice guy. It's not like she was a little virgin or something like that. She could have made up her mind to have some fun with him and enjoy themselves. She could have made him forget all about Ada. She made no attempt to cozy up to Finito with that sad scene of them sitting on the sofa, each at their respective end. Finito really is the good catch, Benito is not. I sure wouldn't want to marry a mama's boy.

I am so sorry about Porfi and his leukemia. I had two cousins die of that horrible disease. One died 6 weeks after his diagnosis, the other died about 7 months after his diagnosis. Now Porfi would have been one good catch! I fear that we will be seeing his end soon. It just doesn't look good at all.

Poor Dalia. As dumb as she is, she just doesn't know what kind of mess she is walking into. I hope Rulo doesn't go pick her up and have her go on the run with him or whatever. Oh, doesn't he have his neighbor's car? This can get interesting....

And Antonio, he just trusts his employees too much. On the surface, you would think that Os would be trustworthy and Antonio has known him in the family, so he had no reason NOT to trust Os.

I still think it is such poor writing regarding the part where Franc is supposed to sell the office practice and there are no buyers. It seems to me that there should have been documentation coming from Franc's lawyer showing the place was actually listed and up for sale and the asking price. There should have been something showing full disclosure regarding offers and such. Marg and Porfi always ask for documentation so why didn't they ask for it here? I'll bet the next words out of Marg's mouth in the following episode with the officers arresting Antonio will be: "Show me the warrant for the arrest!"

Ugh ! It climbed up to in the sixties today and sunny, but now has plummeted to 59 again. I'm making hot chocolate.

You Eskimos laugh, but it is still cold. All the Yankees visiting for the holidays were were out frolicking in T-shirts and shorts. Except for the Hot Chicks, they were nowhere to be seen, I suppose still giving someone their Christmas presents.

Cynthia, I agree about it all, and this show borders on unbelievable like Wiley Coyote and the RoadRunner, BUT it is entertaining.

This patio is not a bunch of Forest Gump's who are at their limit with Three Stooges reruns, there are some pretty sharp cookies here. For a while I have been making mental notes of the number of comments on Marido, CET and Ramoon, and there are far more here than the other more cerebral shows, sometimes as many RaMoons as the other two combined, and they are certainly not all mine. For What It Is Worth..............

It has been mentioned many times that the sappiest TNs are the most entertaining. I, for one, do not want to have to keep notes and feel like I just possibly flunked a Geometry mid term after an episode.

But I DO wonder what these writers and others did before they were writers.

kj

And another thing, I am just shocked Julio's plans to marry a maid didn't send Whortensia back to the ER.

And the same for Ooze, I want to be a fly on the wall when he tearfully tells Jorge that in prison he is now Leroy's bitch.

Kirby: Getting ready for my Crimson Tide against the defending National Champion Clemson in the Allstate Sugar Bowl on Monday Night in the Big Easy.

So was Antonio the fall Guy here ?

Cynthia: It looks more likely Porfirio' s days are so numbered.

OT..Cynthia, I think that you are channeling LOrd John coming to the rescue in that finale of season three Outlander.." Show me the warrant! Where is the affidavit? " And I like your pragmatic view of how Luisa could make it work with good guy Finito. I agree that Benito is not a catch, but the heart wants what the heart wants! In the end, Fin will be with Curves , and Ben and LU will be back at it again.

It is cool and windy here. Brrrr.

Kirby, the blog mom Jane, once told me that the worse the show, the more fun it is. If you notice the quotes at the top of the forum , one is from a guy named Chris FErro who hung out here a long time ago. It is about how we here at CAray love to mock , but we do not hate !! Just amusing to watch these crazy characters and situations . They make us thankful for who and where we are and grateful these people are not in our orbits. We all have our problems and disappointments, but these shows give us an escape. Laughter is the best medicine, and it is nice to know that we can give each other a smile or chuckle every day. This has been a cold winter so far , so I hope that we can find a telenovela to enjoy after Ramoon ends. Strawberry moon...Super moon...Ra moon.

Good Morning Patio. BTW, Weather Report from the Frozen State. In the (upper) forties here this morning. I can't feel my ears or tail. woof.

Yeah Steve the Tide used to abuse us at Miss State, and usually on our Homecoming. I hate them, but can't help but admire them. More so when the Bear was there.

But I always root for the SEC team in a game without a SEC team.

But I always root for the SEC team in a game without a SEC team.

meant: But I always root for the SEC team in a game where one is not an SEC team.

Coffee?

We watched Penn State beat Washington.

Getting ready to head home.

Sunny here but verra cold. #winterbahhumbug

Ha! Susanlynn you are so right! I must be channeling Lord John's response. Oh too funny! But truthfully, Marg is usually right there, asking the right questions, asking for the right documentation.

The only way Lu and Benito can be together would be if Fredes' prophecy comes true and she ends up dead. Because otherwise, she won't put up with her little boy being with Luisa.

Good afternoon Patio.

Thank you for your kind words and thoughts Susanlynn, Rgv Chick and Cynthia.

"The only way Lu and Benito can be together would be if Fredes' prophecy comes true and she ends up dead. Because otherwise, she won't put up with her little boy being with Luisa". Totally agree Cynthia. I truly believe Finito has a sense of honor and it was simply this that made him proceed with the ceremony. He gave his word...What a mess.

"Strawberry moon...Super moon...Ra moon" :) Susanlynn

Happy New Year Cynthia, and thanks for
The recap. The episode was sickening tho. Dalia With her smug behind, she's
About to get her Anvils and I really hope they're heavey.
I have never seen such blatant hatred
Spewing out of someone's mouth by some
One who thinks they are so much better than Another person because jauana has been In the position of service to others. Like being a maid is something to be Ashamed of. I worked as a maid, people in My family have, it paid the bills, put food On the table. I know she's mad cause her husband left her for a maid, but This women is evil nasty. Why is she still here, when a nice guy like Porfi Has to suffer alone, and she's walkin Around annoying people, making their lives miserable just cuz she can? And that A$$ of a grandson has got a large part of her DNA coursing through his veins. His
Anvils are coming to. I hope they're very Heavey too.

Poor jauana,I hope the scales fall off
Her eyes before she trips over the broom and fall into the gamblers trap.
That would save Ramon some jail time cuz he would sure beat the crap out of
Him. Julio has many many Anvils comin
His way. You know what would really get the ball Rollin with that? Jorge's
Bio mom, dad or both come lookin for him. HAPPY NEW year Julio.

I hope this new year brings the Anvils to all These lo-down nasty lying evil manipulating Deceptive people, that find joy in hurting other people.Good
Antonio,your gonna need it.Porfi might
Be the one to help him.If he don't die
First. I hope he don't.

Benito, finito, lulu and ada aren't that Interesting anymore. Beni still
Won't stand up to his pushy momma. Not
Much of a man. And finny, is a whimp.
What do Ada and lulu see in these men?

Ok I'm tired, think I'll rest before the ball drops.

H A P P Y ☆ N E W ☆ Y E A R ♡PATIO!

What great messages Patio Peeps. Thanks. Wonderful to read all those positives New Year wishes before I start in on the negatives (news news news).

Wishing you all a Happy Healthy New Year as well, and for a telenovela that will have us all gathered 'round again in our virtual family room to talk about together. We wouldn't have known each other if it weren't for these strange tales in Spanish, so long live telenovelas and long live the Patio!

Off to get some Irish Breakfast Tea now and sigh, some oatmeal. I grew up on bacon and eggs in a black iron skillet but when your husband has had a heart attack, oatmeal becomes the go-to breakfast. For better or for worse, as they say.

Good morning, judyb and patio peeps.

Well, 2018 started off for me with food poisoning striking shortly after midnight!! I hope it isn't an omen about the coming year. Yikes. Feeling fine now though and ready for a cuppa mint tea and a bowl of cereal . Sunny and cool here.

Happy New Year.

Cool???...nah..still colddd. Brrrrr. Can't see the thermometer on the deck because there is snow on it. #winterbahhumbug

Okay..just checked the temperature...12 degrees.

Goodness Susanlynn, hope the food poisoning wasn't caused by food at your favorite B & B. But hey, let's put a positive spin on this disaster--while the rest of us gained poundage over Christmas, you started off 2018 at an unusually trim weight. What a gal!

But hoping no more troubles for you. Health is so precious and we usually take it for granted. Sending you good vibes ((((((()))))) and positive thoughts.

Susy, what an awful start to the new year, but glad you are over it so quickly! Also sending you ((((((((good vibes))))))) and well wishes.

It's in the 30s here in the RGV...BRRRRRR...lots of hot chocolate needed! Geez, can't imagine what I'd do if it were in the 'teens or lower...never get out of bed???

Happy Newness of the year patio peeps.
I think most of the country is under
The purple cold shield. Here in North
Flo we're in the 30s with a freeze warning. Thank God for hot choco and
Coffee, and yes girl oatmeal. Its good.
Yummo. Theres so many ways to eat it
My aunt likes hers with chicken gravey, Go figure! Lol. Anyways the ball has Dropped, and here we are, on the patio In 2 0 1 8. So,what now? We live!Yaaaaay!
Okay that's all I got, now I got to go find my 2018 calendar. I know I put it somewhere in this mess, y'all have a happy 1st 2018 day and I'm glad your better from food poisoning Susygirl.
Later people.

Nina, glad to hear some positive thoughts about oatmeal. But with chicken gravy? yikes! Although I have eaten it with salt and hot sauce. So better not act shocked. Most of the time I cook steel-cut oats overnight in the crock-pot (in English novels they're always cooking it overnight in the Aga, whatever that is) and then I add walnuts, dried cranberries and dried blueberries to try an make it interesting.

But it's still oatmeal!

Judyb...Jamie , the SCottish warrior in OUtlander swears by oatmeal, and it worked wonders for him . I like it, but I am lazy and buy those oatmeal cups you just put hot water in. My favorite is peach and almond , and I also like the pear and walnut. Unfortunately, I think I got the food poisoning from our favorite restaurant. While I was getting sick, I was worrying about others who ordered the same entree getting sick and it affecting their business. The owners are lovely people whom we have known for years . We are on hugging terms with them . I would be sad if this hurt their business.

How dreadful. What was your entrée? (Love it that we can get off-topic on this Patio and not be scolded.)

Suuuuuuzie. Happy New Year. Yikes ! Food Poisoning?
I assume in that usage 'food' is not the object of the verb, but rather an adverb itself? :-)
In that case, I hopeo you are well now.

I left the TV on and just walked back in. Only the Spanish could name a show "Fat and Ugly" , No Wait, What is 'Flaca'?

Happy Monday everyone.

"Flaca" is thin. She's thin, he's fat. But still, what a name! Although "gordo" in Spanish doesn't seem to be a criticism the way it is in English. "Gordita" is an affectionate name for a woman, and "gordo" for a guy. Whole different attitude.

RGV Chik: It was 60 this morning as the coffee made it's little sounds, but drizzling and dreary. It is now 50 and still appears to be falling and drizzling and cloudy.

#winterbahumbug

Kirby..Well, actually in the term food poisoning, food is a noun used as an adjective. What kind of poisoning ?..food. EXamples of nouns belong used as adjectives are : flower garden, office building, vegetable soup, toy store, etc. Adverbs , on the other hand, modify either verbs (The boy walked slowly out of the room.) Adjectives : THe dress is very beautiful. Or other adverbs He was walking too slowly. I miss teaching grammar !

Flaca = skinny

Thanks JudyB. I believe I may now be starting to understand TNs.

I thought "poisoning', an act, IE verb, then what kind of action did this verb consist of? I should have known better than to be a smarty pants with you. :-)

" I miss teaching grammar !" still are............Thanks

Judyb..years ago I had students who were married . He called her GOrdita. When she told me what it meant, I could not believe it did not make her mad. I also had a couple from Peru, and the husband called the wife "Little thing" in SPanish. I always liked the galans calling their loves "mi vida" " mi Cielo" "mi amor"...instead of the Usual American nicknames Honey, Babe, Sweetheart.

Benito, "My Little Monkey"?

Kirby..hmm. I guess Poisoning would be a gerund which is a verb that becomes a noun by ending the ending _ing. Examples..I swim everyday. (Swim is a verb.SWimming is fun. (swimming is a gerund , a noun form. ) Gerunds can be subjects, objects, or objects of prepositions. Examples : Swimming is fun. (Swimming is the subject.) I enjoy swimming . (Object) She survived the shipwreck by swimming to shore. (Object of the preposition "by".)

I wouldn't have the nerve to try that out on anyone.

judyb...IF you asked my best friend in my hubby, They could easily tell you the entree I always get..chicken . This was chicken and ravioli. I have not eaten red meat in many years even though I grew up on a farm and my dad raised Hereford steers.

Kirby..I thought " Little Monkey" was CHangita.

Yeah Changita sounds right.

Gerunds, NOW we're talking.

For Susie:

Beginning the year with grammar lessons...yay! Thanks for the refresher, Susy....hadn't thought of "gerunds" in quite a few years.

Changuita = little monkey = Luisa very befitting!

Kirby, it's been in the 30s ALL day long and tomorrow should be a carbon copy of today. I went out for breakfast this morning all wrapped up in my layers, coat, wool scarf...the works...just to see Winter Texans in light jackets and regular clothes!

Winter Texans = tourists that migrate just like the birds :-) I'm sure you have Winter Floridians?

We have 'Snowbirds'

And fireworks

I just went outside, RGV, and our light mist has turned into a light drizzle again and C O L D.
Dropped from 50 when I carped about it around four to 45 now.

And still Going...................down.
Goody, can't wait to see what our merry lunatics have in store for us tonight.

Boy, some of the Caray purists from years gone by would be issuing detention warrants for us if they caught us talking about dangling participles, the weather, and oatmeal on here. I love this group.

Undercooked chicken can make you very very sick. Glad you are already recovering Susanlynn. Now back to the Rose Bowl. Not much defense going on but lots of spectacular passes, runs and touchdowns. I'm rooting for Oklahoma even though I'm no fan of Baker Mayfield.

Great fireworks photo, by the way, Kirby. (fireworks=noun great-adjective...oh wait, do I say the noun is "photo" and fireworks is the modifier. Jeez Susanlynn, you're making me nervous!
