Caer En Tentacion #60, 1/12/18: Raquel shows signs of losing her mind, and who wouldn’t.
In their little get away Raquel tells Santi how she felt when she first
saw Damian in the hospital after the accident. When she saw him connected to
the machines all she wanted was for him to wake up and tell her everything will
be find instead she found out that he was with Carol and that she was his
lover. She cries and asks Santi to forgive her “I have nothing to forgive you
for I am here for you”
Vicente and Andres are in Andre’s office and Vicente tells him, “you
don’t know what I am capable of doing” Andres tell him to get out of his office
because threats don’t work with him. As he is getting out of the office he
tells Andre’s “what happened to the money that Damian owed him."Fede sees Vicente with Andres and asks Azucena "what is Carol's brother doing here with my uncle?” she tells him to go find out himself but he says he does not want them to know he is there.
Cynthia gets home and tells Jovita that Raquel will be fine, just don’t tell the kids she’s with Santi.
Then she asks about Mia, Jovita says "she is with a friend" Cynthia wants to know if it's Nico but Jovita says no, "it's Sammy"
Rueda offers Alina money to lose the custody case. Alina has to think about it
Raquel and Santi get to their destination. Raquel gets out of the car and begins to breathe deeply, she looks somewhat relaxed. Santi leaves for a little while and comes back with a red rose. He says I want to be here with you, I want to hold your hand I want to kiss you. Raquel says she is having trouble with her thoughts. She feels that the past and the present are getting all messed up. Santi says “let me help you” it is so strange because we are here alone after all that has happened. I don’t understand if we are mixing the past and present. He says “if you live in the present and stop thinking, what you think will happen” she smiles at him and kisses him.
Juan’s mother finds him and asks him what‘s up with him because Lola’s mother asks him what he is up to since Lola’s father came looking for him. Juan is extremely rude to her and says “all you need to do is say you don’t know where I’m at” he walks away as his mother calls out to him.
Past
Fernando is talking to Laura, he thinks she is
home but she is at the station. He tells her she needs to rest; he will take
her what she needs. The model tells him that his wife is lucky, and asks if the
baby is his first. Then she congratulates him. He stares at her longingly
leaves leaving her pensive.
Damian
runs into doctor Altuve, who tells him that Raquel had a panic attack and gave
her a sedative. He explains that she was anxious about Mia, Fede and especially
the fact that she was not pregnant. Doctor says that he will keep her under his
watch, she need to take it easy. This was just a warning.
Carol
discussing with Santi about nacho, she hopes nacho understands that he won’t be
the godfather because she does not. Santi then says “Damian believed in me that
means he trusts me” “can’t you understand that." "let’s change the subject, are
you going to continue with the business?”
Carol
gets her attitude on and says “are you kidding, you never wanted me to work”
“well I’ve learned my lesson”. She just looks at him incredulously.
Miriam
and Damian discussing Raquel’s breakdown, Miriam takes advantage of the
situation. She says “oh so she’s crazy”. No she’s not crazy she just has to
deal with a lot of stress. “your wife is always such a mess” Damian gets a call
from Carol, and tells her he can’t talk right now “what are you punishing me”
“no I just have to take care of Raquel” Miriam walks up to him and says “it’s
that woman, is she is the reason why your marriage is falling apart?” Damian
tells her it’s none of her business. Miriam than says “I have never liked
Raquel, but I like that lose woman even less” Damian asks her not to talk that
way, Miriam suggests that Raquel may suspect about his affair and that is why
she is breaking down. He walks away from her and says to herself that she will
not allow him to throw his life away.Damian goes up to his room and hugs Raquel, kisses her and as she sleeps says I want you to get better but I don’t know what to do for you.
Azucena comes over to visit carol with some paperwork. She hands over some documents that indicate that Damian is leaving an insurance to protect Benjamin. Carolina than says “so you know about our relationship” “yes I do” so why is Damian doing this, why is he exposing me like this in front of you
Azucena says that she is very discreet and she does not need to worry. “What do you think about me? Do you think I’m a.?” she does not complete her question but we all know what she is asking.
Fernando brings Laura flowers and asks her why she went to work; the doctor had told her to rest. She had to work because her boss threatened her with replacing her.
I am no one to judge Carolina, love is inexplicable” carol then says “you have no idea how guilty I feel” “but I can’t leave Damian, Imagine if someone finds out” “it won’t be from me, I suggest you sign this, and protect your son, no one will find out” Carol than thanks Azucena for listening to her and then she asks if she feels she is betraying Raquel. Azucena says no because she protects her with her silence more than if she spoke to her.
Fede tells Nico that he had sex with Sabrina, but he does not know how he feels about it. Sabrina is pretty and we made love she said she liked it but Fed felt nothing, and he actually feels worse.
Present
At police station Antonio and Godoy, the results from the gun came back
but it came back with 10 possible owners, one of them was Rogelio Alvarado.
(Santi’s father)Rueda arrives at Alina’s office. She tells him that she accepts to do what he asked. She will do her best to lose the custody case. Rueda is surprised because she had said she was not interested. She replies that she has “personal” reasons for doing it.
Raquel and Santi are in bed in the middle of a very passionate moment, when all of a sudden Raquel stops, gets out of bed and says “I am losing myself Damian” she looks at Santi but sees Damian. Santi says “what did you call me” Raquel sees Damian and goes to hug Santi tells him, “you woke up, I knew you would wake up” Santi is confused and can’t do anything but to stare at her. Santi or Damian in Raquel mind says “you know who I am” Raquel says of course I know who you are, you cheated on me you had another baby and you did not want to have a baby with me.
Santi begins to worry about her, grabs her by her face and says “Raquel look at me I’m Santiago”. “You are Santiago, “she throws herself on her bed and begins to cry Santi goes to console her.
Laura is talking to Andres about how there is an investigation about money laundering in the company. He says it’s an unfounded accusation. Laura then gets a call from Miriam, Andres tells her that Miriam probably wants something. This can be an opportunity for her because she can investigate thru Miriam.
Antonio and Godoy continue discussing that the gun may have belonged to Santiago’s father. Antonio says that this causes Santi to become even more of a suspect.
Sammy leaves Mia as he leaves Cynthia sees him and asks Mia if that is her boyfriend. Mia says no he is just a friend.
Rueda tells Alina that he does not trust her, but will have to see if she is being truthful. He is giving her cash to avoid tracing. He then asks her if she is leaving to Los Angeles or not? She says she will leave.
Laura goes to see Miriam, Miriam asks her to try to discredit Santi and his family so that he is not able to win the custody of Benjamin. Laura says she will do that but what does she get out of it? Miriam tells her she will give the news Laura so much covets. And to prove it she tells Laura about Mia’s attempted suicide. (Miriam is heartless, soulless, and a witch)
Back at the hotel room Raquel wakes up and gets up, she leaves the bed and leaves Santi behind without waking him up.
She is having an anxiety attack outside when a man approaches her. Santi wakes up and notices that Raquel is gone. He gets his phone to call her, and then he goes out to look for her
Laura PI gives a news cast and discusses Benji’s custody battle and also talks about Mia’s suicide attempt. Mia watches the newscast and begins to go crazy because people are going to think she is crazy (news flash Mia you are crazy)
Santi is running around looking for Raquel, but Raquel is now in the house of the man that found her. They are conspiring to keep her because they realize who she is and they can probably get money for her.
Cynthia calls Santi and tells him that she needs Raquel to come back because Mia is going crazy after having watched the news cast. Santi just hears her and does not know what to do or say.

Damian was not there for Raquel when he should’ve been. The only thing Raquel needed was Damian by her side. If only he had compassion and empathy for his wife.
I still think that when it came to who Azucena should be loyal to that Damian and Raquel were a package deal. I don’t know if I fully agree with the mindset that keeping quiet was better than telling the truth.
Miriam crossed the line when she told Laura about Mia. She is extremely selfish.
The scene when Raquel was hallucinating was very well done.

Raquel's mental heath, both past and present, became front and center during this episode. Given the behavior manifestations it would be difficult for a GP (like the Foundation doctor) and Viewerville to arrive at an accurate diagnosis let alone effective treatment including a pharmacological one. The one her doctor just used deems to have made her condition worse. Raquel's depression and mood swings clearly fall under the umbrella of some sort of bipolar disorder. But bi-polar is used to classify all sorts of odd behaviors, severe depression being only one of the main signs. Panic attacks, anxiety episodes, etc., are frequently exhibited in mood disorders. Causes could range from external stressors to even genetic (familial) factors. We don't know if any of Raquel's parents were plagued with serious depression but we know Cythia has problems and of of course Mia. (Fede seems healthy except for the fact that he may be psychologically asxeual. The should be no big deal for him, although it may be an issue for those persons attracted to him).
I think Raquel's imagining (hallucinating?) that Santi was Damian is leaving Santiago with almost no ability to be of any real help to her in her present state. Her being taken off the street by the 'good samaritan' does not bode well for her returning to a normal state anytime soon.
Alina and Laura both appear to be willing pawns in Miriam's drive to destroy Santiago and Raquel.
And finally, the crack police unit, Antonio and Nando, have left me utterly confused. The gun ownership is in doubt so will our crack Godoy just choose his favorite candidate (Santiago) as the likely killer. Godoy is about as careful as his soon to be ex wife Laura.

Tf Damian was a selfish husband. The scene where Raquel was sleeping and he seemed to sho he cared is evidence that he could care less. His family is falling apart and all he can do is think of carol and his “son”.

It certainly looks like Raquel is done for, at least in the short term. This latest situation looks like the nail in the coffin for her relationship with Mia and for Miriam to get her revenge.
Raquel's mental health issues seem to have been an afterthought on the writers' part as Miriam's objections to Raquel have always been quoted as having been that she was a "gold-digger" and "not of our class." Since Federico seems mentally healthy I'm not eager to assign any genetic explanation for Mia's mental state.
We've never been told anything about Raquel's parents other than the accusation that they favored her over Cinthia. We don't know whether they were abusive or otherwise dysfunctional. However, one thing I do know is that while you may be aware of dysfunction in either or both of your parents you can be very determined not to repeat that yourself, but you will make mistakes of some kind.
Since Miriam has displayed evidence of mental illness herself I think we can blame that for any failing on Damian's part to recognize it in Raquel during their courtship and honeymoon years. Raquel's current condition is understandable in view of all the stress she's experienced starting from the failure to get pregnant.
Alina should be taken out and hung... unless she is planning on double-crossing Rueda, whom she seems to have it in for. If she actually said "try to lose the case" she might not. We know of no prior incidence of professional malfeasance on her part and we know that he has a track record of it. However, she could be doing this out of spite re her relationship with Nicolas or Santiago calling her out on what she is.
Laura should be burned at the stake for what she just did and the effect that will have on the whole situation. Is this how the Mexican press operates?
Finally, the couple who now have Raquel are a far cry from Good Samaritans. If they contact Miriam for ransom we know she won't pay.

My thought, though, is this going to be a red herring or lead us to the killer. Could Raquel, during one of her episodes, have decided to kill Caro and/or Dam. I don't think so, but we can expect anything in this story.
ABOUT the GUN. To set the story straight: the gun they have did not have 10 owners. It was that they could only recover 1 of the 2 missing numbers in the serial. The number of guns that came closest to what they already had was 10 names for 10 different guns.
Nando is frustrated because Tonio sort of put that at the bottom of the list of things to do. He preferred to continue searching for the identity of the fingerprint on the gun since he's sure that belongs to the killer.
Meanwhile Nando realizes that to investigate 10 potential owners is a big task, but he is ready to start with the closest person to being Nando's favorite suspect--Santiago.
Nando wants to see if Santi still has his father's gun. If the gun is missing, then Santi (if it points to him as a suspect) would have to have taken the gun AFTER Raquel found it in his drawer and disposed of it near the crime site--a very stupid thing to do (IMO).

I don't think Nicolas has adequate experience to be able to figure this out before it's too late. That would probably be the case irrespective of his highly irregular relationship with her.
I agree about the association of Mia and Sammy. Both of them are incredibly unstable. She also has such a sense of entitlement that I can see her believing that she is above the rules of society. She is definitely her grandmother's mini-me.

Sorry to chime in so late. The Mia/Sammy combo is a bit frightening but I believe it is because of a shared hatred of Alina. So, how bad can it be? ;)

Urban & Niecie--Another scary thought is Alina taking out her revenge on the whole Alvarado family (and friends) by making Nico take the fall for losing the case. Aren't we seeing a set up in a prior episode where she complains about his distraction and making mistakes? Hmmmm.
What is disturbing about this unholy alliance is that both of these disturbed children have track records of destructive behaviour. Mia is likely to lead Sammy down a very dangerous path. Unlike Federico he is incapable of keeping a cool head under fire.
Anita, I thought that was a set-up for her dumping him while lining up Bebo to take his place. That happened way before Rueda came along with his offer and I think her acceptance of it was triggered by Santiago calling her out on her Mrs Robinson ways.
Urban, I agree that Alina thought for one hot second of the possibilities with Bebo. That DID take place before Rueda made his offer, but the episode where she called out Nico for his mistakes was Thursday night's episode. This was AFTER Rueda had made his initial offer for her to get out of his son's life with money and a lucrative practice in Los Angeles.
I'm pretty sure Alina had already made up her mind to accept Rueda's offer to take his money and the practice and move to LA at the time of Santi's visit, or at least she was still "considering" it as far as Rueda was concerned. He came back with an "addendum" to the offer Friday night to lose the custody case. That's when she agreed to everything he asked for.
