Caer en Tentacion #69, 1/24/18: Alina and Mia, a tale of two nut balls

Recap time!

  • At the jail Santiago sees a woman who is wearing a bracelet that is identical to one that he had gifted to Carolina, he accuses the woman and her husband of having stolen it from his dead wife. It does not help matters any when Antonio questions the woman and realizes that the inscription on the bracelet had been erased.
  • Alina gets a phone call about Santiago's melt down and runs off to see him- oh this is right after she finishes having sex with Nicolas, who is hiding out at her house because she has led him to believe that there's an active warrant out for him because he punched Andres (more on that later)
  • How did Alina get Nico to sleep with her? By telling him that he owed her for representing her father, she won't take cash, checks or credit cards, just penis. Then she tells him she loves him (lies!)
  • In the past Santiago gives Carolina the bracelet and later finds her crying, she tells him she's just super sensitive after what happened to Benjamin, but we all know what's really going on.
  • Carolina gets a phone call from the same woman that's called her before, the woman tells her she knows where she is and that she knows all her secrets, then hangs up. Carolina calls Damian and tells him about the phone calls, she also tells him that she believes Raquel could be the one calling her.
  • Now here's the thing, at the start of the episode Mia goes to the catering hall looking for Carolina, when she finds out that she's not there she calls Damian and starts questioning him about where he is and how long he has been there. Now, could it be possible that Mia or her friend Julieta are the ones calling Carolina to freak her out because Mia has suspicions about her? Or has Vicente in a drunken state let people know about the affair and now those people want to cash in?
  • In the present things don't turn out well for Santi, Raquel went to his house and found Carolina's bracelet and Antonio later tells Santiago that the bracelet the woman was wearing was in fact stolen but they were able to find the woman who it was stolen from.
  • Antonio also tells Santiago that they started to trace money that Damian moved around, in the process they realized that one of his credit cards was missing and someone used the card after Damian was already in the hospital, it is possible that whoever used that card killed Carolina.
  • Now, to the two moments that warmed my heart:
  • Godoy finally finds his boy parts and tells Laura to go to hell. He is tired of her venom and he has put up with years of her abuse and he is DONE. Laura tries to apologize but Godoy wont hear of it, he is going to file for divorce. Good for him.
  • In the present Mia goes to the factory looking for Federico and bumps into Andres instead, that's when she finds out that he never reported Nico to the popo.
  • Sadly, Mia also bumps into Luz and like a creeper starts to question her about her relationship with Fede, thankfully Federico shows up and he tries to get Mia to leave Luz alone, but when Luz tries to walk away Mia threatens to have her fired.
  • Mia then loudly questions Federico about his sexuality- all in front of Luz, who thankfully finally leaves. Federico tries to get Mia to stop her grilling but she won't, this makes our little Fede explode.
Federico to Mia  :You know what your problem is Mia? Your problem is that no one can stand you. You are a horrible human being, you are as ugly on the inside as you are on the outside, and that's why you are going to spend the rest of your damn life alone". Preach Federico, preach.

At the jail Alina is trying to get Raquel to go home but Raquel won't, not until she gives her statement about the partnership that Damian had with Santiago.

Also Bebo is trying to get Lola to have the baby, if she has an abortion she will regret it for the rest of her life. No Bebo, that's not how this works at all.

In the past Patricia goes looking for Lola, she warns her that the police are looking into the death of the young woman from their trip and that the men they were with want to speak with Lola. She warns Lola to keep her mouth shut or they will both end up dead. and she tells her to always reply to her texts.

Finally, Mia shows up at Alina's house and tells Nico that there is no arrest warrant and that Alina lied in order to get him into bed.

Not watching this (not enough Zoloft in the world!) but love the title Princess Juju.

Ah, Judy, Judy, Judy, you just don't know what you are missing!!

Juju--Rat-a-tat-tat and you got it all. Swift-moving episode. Right on about..."that's not the way it works." True. There's always adoption, but THAT doesn't always work out that way.

Loved how Raquel stood her ground up against Alina. Alina thinks she's on top of the heap, but it might turn out to be a heap of garbage.

At least the matter of the bracelet was cleared up in one episode. That and the warrant. Can't wait to see what Nico will do. He's a jerk if he stays, but I bet he's scared to do otherwise--he's "in debt" to Alina regardless of the warrant. But he doesn't have to stay in her apartment to "pay" her back.

@JudyB! Hi lady! I miss reading your comments! I drank between 7-8 beers in order to get through the last two episodes.

Thank you for the recap princess. It
Is short and to the point.

Now let me say this. When I used to here some body say that "they slept together" I say "No they weren't sleeping, they were having sex, not sleeping. I know they Mean having sex when they say "they're Sleepin together". Its been said like that for decades & I don't think it will
Change now. What made me think about
This was when alina and Nico finish
Their deed, and some say they slept together. No they did it on the good
Prep counter. Yuck get the bleach.

I hated seeing Raquel find that braclet in the jewelry box. Santi can't catch a brake. I'm gettin sick of this too.Wake Damian up and free santiago dogonit.

:) Thank you Princess Juju.

It is a heep of garbage. That is
Nasty. Just saying.

Gracias, Juju. I have just enough time to comment before leaving for the opera.

Good for Fernando. Laura has been a leech during their marriage; he can do better. She needs a shrink and a period of unemployment.

Anita, this one belongs on the sidebar: Alina thinks she's on top of the heap, but it might turn out to be a heap of garbage.

Alina will end up paying for this somehow. Now I must have missed something regarding the charge that isn't happening. Andres did threaten Nicolas with it in front of witnesses before punching him in the gut. So who talked him out of it?

Mia needs to be reminded to mind her own business. Federico is now clearly fed up with her. Too bad he took this long to finally tell her off. The only reason I hope she doesn't off herself is that Raquel doesn't deserve any more grief.

Now with regard to Damian's truly sick family of origin....

What we know:

Damian is an only child. His father founded the pasta factory and it was bankrupt when he died. Damian and Raquel rescued it and made it successful. Damian has a good rep among his workers as a boss while Miriam and Andres have bad ones.

What we don't know:

Dates of bankruptcy and death of Elias Becker unspecified, along with cause of death. We also know nothing of Miriam's family of origin other than it had to have also been pretty sick for her to do what she's done to Damian. She had also made one vague comment about Elias that implied that he was financially feckless, but now we don't know whether that is the truth or a lie meant to cover something up. What did he know about Miriam's abuse of Damian? Did he leave a will at all? Could he have left one that is missing in action or was it destroyed by Miriam who would have bribed someone to forge a new one leaving all assets to herself?

What are the sick, twisted details of Miriam's abuse and how did Raquel find out about them? When was Damian in therapy about it? Why is Miriam still the president of the company?

These answers and more need to happen.

UA: Both Nora Gaxiola 2.0 & the Latina Mrs. Robinson are both sick, demented & just plain CRAZY, CRAZY, CRAZZZZY!

Juju: You've really outdone yourself in this recap.

Nina: I watched this for about 25 minutes & turned it off. Too much EVIL for now.

Anita: Nico needs a big BACKBONE fast & tell the Latina Mrs. Robinson where to go!

Kirby: You're missing out on a good TN.

Princess Juju, I haven't had a chance to read the recap yet, but your title is funny and spot-on.

Thanks Juju! And Judy, you’re missing out!

What a coincidence that Abel (I think that’s his name) stole a bracelet that was identical to Carolina’s and gifted it to his woman and that Santiago happened to see it being worn by that woman.

I liked that Raquel basically told Alina off. I loved when she said “mi lugar es dónde esté Santiago”. Raquel isn’t about to make the same mistake twice, regardless of that fact that she and Alina aren’t friends by any stretch, and let someone walk all over her and take her man.

It was about time that Fede stood up to Mia. While I do hope he eventually accepts who he is, it’s not up to Mia or anyone to force him out of the closet. I do think he likes Luz though so maybe he’s having a bit of a gender identity crisis.

Urban--One more thing we know: Damian brought Andres into the business to help get it back on his feet (one of the episodes from the early 30s. I just revisited them, but I'm only concentrating on the investigation). Andres was p.o'd because Damian took his ideas and never gave him any credit. So, he thinks stealing from Legato is justice. Of course he couldn't get rid of him.

..."how did Raquel find out about them?" (the abuse) It was in the episode where Raq confronts Mimi at her front door. She told Miriam it took years of therapy before Dam could talk about it. He probably shared it with her.

About motives--As I re-read more on Vicente, it would have made more sense for Damian and Carolina to get rid of Vicente instead of the other way around. He was a real risk to their affair. I'm going to temporarily put Vic further down on the list of suspects.

Thanks, Juju. I missed this last night and appreciate your recap.

Bebo is no help.

Nina, “get the bleach”: perfect!

Thanks, Urban, for trying to make sense of it all.

TF--The more I see and hear Mia, I think she has socio-pathic tendencies. How could she ever have humiliated Fede like that in front of another employee. I don't think she can help herself, which is very sad. I guess she didn't keep up with her therapy, not that I thought that much of the psychologist, who recommended she break off relations with all her friends and acquaintances, not that she had many of those.

Princess juju...great title.

Thank you Princess Juju.

This was excellent. I wish I had your ability to capture everything so concisely. I always use too many words. I really appreciate your including the dialog aimed at Mia. She had it coming. I can find nothing likeable about her. At all.

I also enjoyed "Godoy finally finds his boy parts and tells Laura to go to hell". She has been such a shrew. I still am curious to see what happened to her leg. I have felt from the start that he will end up with Cin.

TF, yes, Alina may have met her match in Raquel. I get the impression Alina feels she has no competition. Up until now at least. Also, when she told Nico she loved him she had a strange expression I couldn't fathom. Was it some type of real emotion, just for show?? "Yuck get the bleach" is right Nina!

I'm trying to think (sometimes one episode melds into the net), was there actually no violence against Lola last night?

Thank you Princess Juju.

Diana

Diana--Lola fortunately was spared any more violence last night.

True; it really wouldn't make sense for Vicente to be the killer. That cut off the income from blackmailing Damian.

I'm not prepared to accept Andres' statement that Damian stole his ideas and passed them off as his own. If Damian had done that Raquel would know. I don't think Andres has a good relationship with the truth.

If Federico turns out to be asexual, that's his business and not Mia's. And no, she has not been seeing the original therapist and I don't think she is seeing one now. She is unwilling, like narcissists are.
