Caer en Tentacion #82/83, 2/8/18: The Party of Doom - The Aftermath

El Presente is a continuation of Ayer
Santiago is getting an earful from Lisa over the phone. She only *thinks* Vic could have killed Caro, well, because he's acting so strange. She tells him Vic keeps talking to Caro as if she were there. Lisa heard him say it wasn't his fault, to leave him in peace. She's scared. If he didn't kill her, why is he so tormented. Santi tells her he's on his way. They won't call the police until after he gets there, otherwise they'll get him a lawyer and he'll lawyer-up. Vic comes into the room and wants to know if she was talking to the police. She says she was talking to Santi. He gets violent and starts shaking her and yelling at her. Then he "sees" Carolina. He races out of the house to catch up with "her."

Cintia and Nando are sitting together in Raquel's living room. They have some quiet moments as Nando says he needs to see her; he likes being with her; he likes talking to her; being with her is good for him; she makes him feel good. This leads to a gentle kiss.

Nacho comes to visit Alina. She thinks it's about Nico and blabs it all before he says it's about Santi. He would like her help to determine if Santi is involved in something dirty. He recalls for her the visit by two guys who showed up on Santi's doorstep while he was there. He heard the name Saldivar, he thinks. Nacho couldn't hear the conversation but Santi got very nervous and sent them away.

Santi is in a desperate hurry to get on the road to Lisa's. He finds his keys, but leaves his cell phone behind. The second he's out the door, it rings. It's Raq who wants to tell Santi something. Nico tells him he left for Lisa's because of Vic, but he'll call her when he learns anything. Then Raq remembers that Nando/Godoy is sitting in her living room with Cin. She interrupts their nice, sweet kisses to tell him about Santi and Vic. On hearing Vic's name, Godoy goes into full police mode. They've been looking for Vic, so he takes leave of the two women.

Cin is ready to leave, too, but Raq asks her to stay and rest. [Something must have been cut out between the sisters after Andres "told" on her and Nando coming to see her.] She stays, then apologizes that she forgot to tell Raq that Miriam called to say she didn't have time to bring Benji by, as promised. [THIS SCENE WAS OMITTED: Raquel is pissed and goes to Miriam's to get him herself. Miriam agrees, but requests that Mia and Fede are the ones given official custody. Raquel will explain this to Santiago.] She returns triumphant, with Benji. Apparently it's settled. Benji will live with them permanently. Jovita welcomes the little guy and all three have a grand old time until Mia shows up in a funk. Raquel goes after her.

Santi stops by the side of the road, near where the accident took place and recalls seeing his dead wife's body and falling apart. He also recalls that odd conversation he had with Vic when he, Nico and Lola went to see him. Santi had been questioning Vic on Caro's whereabouts and he told them she was dead. Santi's inner anger is gripping at him through his tears of remembrance. He jumps back in the car and heads for Lisa's. As Santi arrives, Vic looks out the window of Lisa's house but won't open the door for him. Instead, he starts yelling nonsense. Santi fears something has happened to Lisa. Vic says to leave them alone. He's just talked to Caro. Doesn't Santi know she's cheating on him with Damian?

Before Santi decides to break a window to get in, Lisa answers the door and tells him Vic escaped through the back. Santi takes off after him, finally catches up and brings him down. He tells Vic to talk, as he, counterproductively, tries to choke him to death. Vic repeats his earlier delusions. Frustrated, Santi tells him Carolina is dead. Vic swears she's here, he just talked to her. He swears he didn't kill his sister. He blubbers that he killed his own father to save her. [Thank goodness Caro had already told Santi about this or he never would have believed it now.] They continue to scuffle.

El Pasado is also a continuation of Ayer
The Party of Doom isn't over yet. Raquel and Carolina are still talking outside of Nacho's house. Raq comes right out and tells Caro she's a liar and has been hiding something since they first knew each other. Caro hides behind a notion that everyone hides something. Back at the party, Santi and Dam are standing together and Nacho, because he's drunk and drunks tell the truth, tells both men to do all they can to save their marriages. Caro has decided she doesn't want to continue this conversation, or any, ever. She feels it's better they no longer see each other or talk to one another. They would hurt each other--a lot. [Ya think?] With that, she says she's going back to get her husband and leaves Raquel standing there.

Once back home, Santi and Caro have a big blow-out over her behavior and attitude at the party. She asks him if he was aware she was the only one not having any fun. She hadn't expected Raq to show up and she wanted to leave. Santi says it would have been improper to leave. Nacho and Agustin had been planning this for a long time. It was important to him and all of them. He accuses her of not having wanted to go to the party with him at all. She should have wanted to be by his side, supporting him. He pointed out how Raq was standing by her man. Caro starts to fly off on him again but Nico wanders into the room. Caro shuts Santi off and goes to a different part of the house. Later we see her in a bedroom, alone, in a single bed.

Damian sends Caro a text--she looked beautiful this evening. She replies--how did he get her number; it's just as well Santi isn't in the room; don't write any more. He gets it and sends her a new message--not even by text? The next day Dam is checking in with Lola on how the family is doing. How is Santi? How is her mother? She says all are fine. Then he gets a text. Whatever it said, his spirits are lifted and he says, in answer to Lola's question, that everything is fine.

El Presente
Raq calls Nico and asks him what is going on with him. She'd asked him before not to hurt Mia, but it's her understanding that he's still seeing Alina. [There could have been a conversation left out where Raquel and Mia talk and she tells Raq about Sammie's visit and what she found out--another possible cut?] Nico tries to explain his version. Raq tells him to give his explanations to Mia. Nico rushes out to straighten things out with Mia while Bebo stays in their house to wait for Lola. Lola gets home. She doesn't think she's worthy of Bebo. He says he's always loved her and nothing can change that. They hug.

Raquel pays a visit to Alina. She confronts Alina with sticking her nose (lips, breasts, and behind) between Nico and Mia's relationship. Alina is guarded, but claims she doesn't have to discuss the intimacies of her private life. That's ok with Raq. She's actually there to let Alina know that she has Benji and Miriam is going to have her attorney arrange to give official custody to Benji's siblings--that is Mia and Fede. Since Alina is Santi's attorney, Raq just wants to make sure she is informed, in case Miriam and her lawyer try anything against Santiago. Alina asks her to sit, but as they are still standing, she fake smiles and asks what bothers Raq more, Nico's relationship with her or that she is Santiago's attorney. [I guess that is rhetorical, we don't get to hear Raquel's answer.]

At the hospital, Miriam and the doc hover over a very wide-awake Damian. Doc doesn't want him to talk, so they use the old standby blink once for yes, two for no. He apparently knows where he is, but not what happened. Doc fills him in with the barebones facts. He recognizes Miriam, but instead of saying mama to her, he says Raquel, which infuriates her, but she tries not to let on.

Godoy has reached Lisa's. Vic is calmer. He claims not to know Garrido, but Godoy tells him that everyone in town knows they hang out together playing cards. Now, what does he know about the shoot-out, which Vic saw and saw Godoy there, and the stolen credit card? Since Santi is present during this interrogation, he starts to get hot under the collar as this is going nowhere. He wants Godoy to let him at Vic, he'll get the truth out of him. Santi is sure Vic knows a lot and furthermore, he's the one that had him jailed. He's itching for revenge. Vic's hide is saved by the arrival of an ambulance. It's going to take him to the funny farm.

Nico is at the Beckers holding Benji when he sees Sammie coming down the stairs. Mia says he came to tell her the truth, that Nico is still sleeping with Alina. Nico protests that it wasn't like that. He can explain. No explanations are necessary. Mia wants him out of her house and out of her life. Sammie boasts that now Nico is alone as Alina isn't going to touch him again either. Then Sammie's bandaged wrists are exposed and why. Mia is still wanting to get Nico out of the house when Fede gets home.

Raquel is by Dam's bedside when he tries to say something. It looks like, mama. He then asks what happened. She tells him only that he was in an accident, has been in this state a long time and how she's been with him every day since [except when she and Santi went away for a little R&R--which didn't last very long anyway]. He verbalizes, "Fede." He starts to get agitated and says he feels like he's choking. Raq arranges for Fede to come to the hospital right away.

[OMITTED SCENES: Fede and Nico are talking about their women drama. Nico asks Fede about Luz and then tells him about his own tangled mess with Mia and Alina. Laura gives another TV report about Vicente taken in for an evaluation and questioning.]

Santi tells his children he thinks Vic killed their mother. Nico tells Santi that Benji is going to be living permanently with Raquel. There's more. He tells Santi that Raquel is with Damian at the hospital because apparently he's improving and asked to see Fede.

Santi takes a call from Antonio. All we know from Santi's end of the conversation is, "tomorrow, in the morning?"

He calls Raquel on Nico's phone and she confirms all that Nico said. That's why she had called him, but he didn't answer. Fede arrives and Raq says she'll call him later. Before they go in, Raq warns Fede that his father is not fully remembering the recent past, but he's remembering Fede from when he was little. Raq is sure he will keep improving. She leaves him alone long enough for Miriam to appear and continue to poison his mind about his mother. Miriam says Raq is making Dam go crazy with her anxiety and constant pressuring. She's doing more harm than good and is putting Dam's recovery in jeopardy. He and Raquel go in to Damian's bedside. He sees Fede but then says that's not Federico. Raq says the reaction is normal and urges him to say something to his father. Finally, he seems to recognize him.

Rueda and Alina have a meet-up. He tells her that Andres has ordered that he wants Santiago and Raquel to be separated, he doesn't care how. Alina is up to the challenge. She bedded the son, how hard can it be to bed the father. Rueda asks if Alina knows that Raq and Santi have a little something going on. Yes, she already knows, so it won't be easy, but there's nothing more exciting than a man who is forbidden.

Nico finally admits to his dad that he did spend the night with Alina. He went there with the intention of telling her he wanted nothing more to do with her. He tried to resist, but it just happened. Now Mia hates him. Now he's really finished with Alina.

El Pasado
Boom! The time travel machine takes us all back to .... what? Dam and Caro are meeting in a park and it's all sweetness and light, as if nothing had happened for the last two years. All the ugliness is forgotten. She hopes he didn't mind the text she sent him that morning. But after last night, she was giving it a lot of thought. She hasn't been happy in her life. Neither has he. Neither wants to hurt their families, but Dam says he can't live without her. He tried, but he can't. She feels the same, she tried to be happy with her family, but she couldn't. They talk, fall in each other's arms and say how much they've missed each other. [Have they learned NOTHING from the past 81 episodes? Geesh.]

El Presente
Ant is furious with Nando for the Vic caper. Nando should have alerted him to send folks (who don't have one arm in a sling). Nando says there was no time. He had to go before Santi got himself into trouble. And what about Vic? Nando gives him a status report. Vic still won't admit to knowing Garrido. Ant says he'll take charge of seeing Vic and Nando should keep tabs on Dam's progress. He knows, by the way, that Nando went to see Raq's sister, so he warns him to keep his pants up.

Nico is with Lola chatting in her room. She gets up from the bed and Nico sees a blood stain. [That probably means bye-bye Baby Juan.]

At the construction site, Nacho and Agustin get an unexpected visitor. He identifies himself as Saldivar and he's looking for Santiago Alvarado. They tell him Santi isn't there. Bald guy is standing behind him. Saldivar says it's urgent for Santi to contact him. Nacho with his big mouth wants to know what this is all about. The visitors just look at them, as if they were going to answer--not.

Santi arrives at the Beckers to see Benji in Raquel's arms. All three are smiling happily.

Mia is taking her turn at Dam's bedside. Dam stirs. He asks for Carolina. Mia [is] scrunching her face up in an ugly expression and scathingly repeating "Carolina" as though it were the most incredulous thing she'd ever heard. She looked fit to be tied.

And Diana has the Last Word.

If anyone knows of any cut scenes, please post them here and I'll add them to the recap. The broadcast kind of made sense, but I was left with that nagging feeling that we didn't see everything.

Thank you, Anita. I kept falling asleep last night watching this. So, I remembered some things but really needed this recap to fill in the blanks.

When Carolina asked what SHE was hiding as a response to Raquel asking her the same question I felt like I was hearing Pee Wee Herman with his “I know you are, so what am I?” What an exasperating witch!

Loved Damián saying “Raquel” and not the coveted “mamá” to Miriam.

Miscarriage on the horizon? That would be good news for Lola.

Nico is a lost cause.

Jarifa--Thanks for that little nugget. I couldn't understand what Caro was posing to Raquel, so I just left it out. She did say something like, "and you, what?"

One of the cut scenes was when Raquel went to get Benjamin from Miriam’s. Miriam agreed to give up custody of Benjamin BUT requested that Mia and Fede have custody of Benjamin as they are his biological siblings. Raquel will explain this to Santiago in tonight’s episode(s) if Univision doesn’t cut it.

There’s a scene in the present after Damian says Fede’s name where Nico and Fede are talking about their women drama. Nico asks Fede about Luz and tells him about the Mia/Alina situation.

Before the scene where Santiago tells Nico and Lola about Vicente having a breakdown and suspecting that he killed Carolina, Laura gives a news report about Vicente that he was taken for questioning and an evaluation.

That’s all I got. I’ll try and see if there’s more. All these scenes I mentioned were in #83.

Minor correction: the scene with Raq and Miriam happens in 82. I’ll look through 82 to find other cut scenes.

Thanks, TF, now it makes a little more sense. I'll add these scenes when I get to a better computer.

I can't think of any at the moment and I'm on the way out, so I will have more to say later.

Gracias.

Thank you Anita. Talk about Carolina being exasperating, I feel the same way about Uni. As always so choppy. I am on tonight so I will do my best to include deleted scenes. May not get it up until late tomorrow. I may do one episode as part one and the other will be part two.

I don't even know where to begin, the whole Damian and Carolina reunion was so fake, no emotion really their chemistry from the earlier episodes was not there. It seemed forced.

Vicente scenes were so badly edited, left so much out. But I do not feel that he killed Carolina. But we will know soon.

Sandie--Take your time. Maybe there are still some out there that want to vent on last night's happenings.

You and Anon207 aren't the only ones who don't think Vic actually killed Caro, but it's becoming clear from his state of mind that it weighed heavily on his mind. He was saying it wasn't his fault. Someone else mentioned that maybe he felt guilty about knowing "something" about it and not doing anything to prevent it.

That's probably why the fingers are pointing back to Andres/Miguel/Garrido but lord help us, not this Saldivar.

Thanks Anita!!

I've continued to be perplexed by how the killer knew the route of Dam and Caro. I'm wondering if Dam intended to stop at Vic's to pay him his money before heading out to his weekend love fest. Maybe Vic told the murderer about his coming payday and that's why Vic feels guilty, because he inadvertently told the killer where to find them. But if course that means Vic knows who the killer is.

Thanks a bunch, Anita.

He recognizes Miriam, but instead of saying mama to her, he says Raquel, which infuriates her, but she tries not to let on.

Loved it! As Miriam was trying to get him to say "ma-ma," I was mentally egging him on to say "bitch!" But his slow "Ra-quel" was so much more delightful.

I actually liked the Damian/Carolina reunion in the park. They are awkward with each other after a year apart but realize the've mostly been going through the motions with their spouses. It's not right, but sometimes there's an unexplicable chemistry that pulls two together. I'm not on team Dam/Caro, they've hurt so many good people, but I get the chemistry.

Agree Vicente didn't kill Caro, but his guilt is well earned. I think he blackmailed Caro more to stay in her life than for the money. If she'd come to visit him, shown concern for him after she moved away with Santi, my take is Vicente would've been a happy camper with his sister. He couldn't stand being forgotten by Caro.

So much to savor here Anita.

"all three have a grand old time until Mia shows up in a funk" mirrored Mia, the perpetual wet blanket perfectly. She churns sweet into sour instantly.

"Santi's inner anger is gripping at him through his tears of remembrance" was beautiful.

"He tells Vic to talk, as he, counterproductively, tries to choke him to death" made me smile...

"She doesn't think she's worthy of Bebo". Yes, Lola is. A jewel that has been scratched through no fault of its own, but brilliant in its beauty.

I keep thinking Alina can't sink any lower. And I continue to be proven wrong. Utterly amoral and unscrupulous. No conscience whatsoever. And relentless. Utterly relentless.

Niecie, your take on Damian and Caro getting back together was very well phrased. I have said all along that I really believed (and still do), that they genuinely fell in love. I do think though that had Damian not started up his persistent pursuit, they (at least she) would have stayed with their families.

Jarifa, I have a very bad feeling about Nico as well. He is incredibly weak and lets Alina tempt him and Mia rule him. How he can be drawn to and stay "involved" with not one, but two of the nastiest women ever is beyond my comprehension.

The only thing that made me smile was Dam's calling Mimi Raquel. Her face crumbled, if only momentarily.

TF, thank you for all the added info.

Anita, this was great. Thank you so much. 2 hours to show time.

Diana

Thank you Anita for your detail. I only have one question - for anyone: yes, Fede and Mia are siblings, but so are Nico and Lola. Shouldn't Raq take Benji from Miriam and give custody to the only family he knows??

Loriloo--You'd think. Actually that's just what Santi/Raq and Alina were trying to do. Since Santi was no blood relative, the custody was going to go to Lola and Nico.

Then Rueda and Miriam stuck their noses into it, throwing money and influence at each other. Alina was to lose the custody petition for big bucks and a lucrative legal practice in L.A.

When Santi got arrested and put in jail, the possibility of any Alvarado getting custody was practically nil. Alina told Santi on Wednesday he had to forget about getting custody.

Earlier, Raquel tried to bribe Miriam by giving up all her shares in Legato to give up her claim over Benji. She refused the offer. Then Raq threatened to expose her abuse of Damian when he was a child. That was the game changer. Miriam was getting tired of having a smelly little boy around and didn't mind giving him up, but she added those conditions for whatever reasons she has.

Yes LoriLoo I totally agree. Lola would have been perfect. She has always been his mother/sister. Until the last few stunts he's pulled, Nico would have been OK too. WOULD have been.

I'm sorry but Raquel making Mia any sort of guardian is unfathomable - only my opinion.

Think it was only done though to get him away from Mimi who would never have given custody to Santi's family.

Diana

Oh, I don't think Raquel can just "give" Benji to his other siblings. There have to be official papers filed, a judge has to approve, etc.

Hey, Diana--We're just waiting for 10 pm, right? What on earth could happen next?

Good good recap Anita.

Nico is trying to splain to mia about
Him gettin on with the succubus lawyer
And mia's not Havin it. I think the
Boy dodged two deadly bullets cuz he
Can certainly do a whole lot better
Than a old ho And a psycho cutter.

[Have they learned NOTHING from the last 81 episodes? Geesh]. Well in The
Words of Clare Huxtible"They just dumb
And mister hump "stupid is what stupid
Does". And if that's not bad Enough he
Is remembering the other mother. And
That is dangerous for him cuz his nut
Job of a daughter is surroundered by
Hospital pillows. Ooops daddy let me
Fluff your pillows. Oh oh that goes
Under your head don't it?And then she
Quietly walks out and tells the nurse
"He's just sleeping so I come back on
The morrow". Lol, Oh I crack me up.

I would like to see cin and godoy with
Each other, but somebody needs to get
Rid of slimy Andres. Are we sure he's
Not miriam's illegitimate child?hohum.

The succubus is lookin for a beat down from raquel, cuz I don't think she will
Allow another skank to steal a Man from her again. And That is one beat down I want to be front & center for.
Ok I gotta read the comments, but on the morrow.

Thank you Anita, or Diana?

Ah, Nina, another gem from you. Wouldn't that be a gas, Andres being Mimi's secret love child. The recap was mine. Diana gave us the last line, which made it the perfect ending.

Nina, "[Have they learned NOTHING from the last 81 episodes? Geesh]' posed the crux of the problem so well Anita.

I had been giving that some thought but Nina's "Well in The Words of Clare Huxtible"They just dumb" trumped anything I could have possibly thought of.

And Nina, If Andres were to be Mimi's son, that would be something! It certainly would explain a lot, right??

10 minutes. Not that I'm counting :)

Diana

Yaaah Diana!!!

I went on ahead and read the comments.
We're all on the same page, these are
Some crazy people's. And NO! they have learned NOTHING. Not Absolutely NADA! NOTHING!

It's only 8:30 in California. I'm still waiting.... What a goofy yet riveting TN!!

Yes it is loriloo.Let me guess loriloo
Is the cats name? She looks happy and comfy on that ottoman.

Cute kitty😸!

Nina: I wouldn't be shocked if Lola had a miscarriage.

What a cop-out that would be. Lola should have had an abortion. Not doing so ties her to Juan for the rest of her -- or his -- life. If this is a miscarriage we know he will blame her for it and get violent, possibly enough to break out of jail. We haven't seen the last of Juan.

Mia's nasty reaction to Benjamin is a major red flag that we see but that Raquel isn't seeing. There was a scene in a recent episode that looked like Mia was standing with him at the top of the stairs. She should not be left alone with that child. I hope Jovita sees to that.

Hi Nina. My nickname is Loriloo, the cat's name is Cosmo. And yes, he was quite comfy on the ottoman.

Hi lorilooI bet you two are so cute together aaawww, Cosmo, come to think of it he looks like a Cosmo cutie.
The recap for last night is coming? No hurry tho whoever's doin it,it's week end Relax, we'll read it when we read it. Nothing much has changed the crazy
People are still crazy and the good people are catchin hell because of the
Crazy. Happy saturday!

Nina--Sandie is doing the recap. She usually posts late on Saturday or sometimes on Sunday (see Sandie on Friday @ 5:36).

We can certainly keep the conversation going, though.

I'm intrigued by Carvivlie's theory (Fri @ 6:42) of how Dam and Caro got on the road toward Vic's pueblo.

Niecie--Vic plainly needed help all these years and I agree with you. Caro could see he was disturbed. Shame on Caro for not trying. According to Vic, she immediately took Lisa's side, which was probably the logical thing to do if he was being abusive. She lived too far away to make a difference just running out there and separating them until he got off his drunk. OTOH, some people don't want help (namely Mia, Vic, Lisa--to a certain extent, Cintia--who suffered an intervention). At least Dam and Raquel did get some therapy or chemical assistance.

Patio episode 84 is up. 85 will follow soon.
