Caray, Caray!

At Toño’s House, it is breakfast time and Ernesto is asking Toño about wearing his bunny ears. Toño says it is no longer necessary since they got his hair color changed back to normal. The topic is quickly changed when Verónica comes into the room asking Toño to take the kids to school because she has to get to work. Toño gives her something for lunch and kisses her goodbye. Right before she leaves, she tells them all that today she has a surprise for them. Toño is left wondering.

Kika asks Anifer for her impression of the gift that she bought for her dad. Anifer says it is pretty but only two people fit. Renée interrupts the car conversation saying that they better take Anifer to school because if she gets there late they will not let her in. Kika has a great idea: She and Mauricio can take Anifer. Anifer can sit on her lap. Much to Kika’s disappointment, three in the new car does not work because Anifer cannot sit up front on somebody’s lap or by herself either. Anifer solves the problem.If Mauricio has no seats in the back, the police won’t say anything about her sitting up front. Not too reluctantly, Mauricio joins Anifer in the new car as Renée makes sure she has all that she needs for the day. Kika is not so pleased about being left behind. Renée tells her that is the problem with two seater cars. Mauricio says he will come back for Kika in a flash. Kika decides to call her chauffeur instead. She will see him at Logatoys. When they are gone, Renée takes the opportunity to tell Kika that if she is going out with Mauricio she has to accept the fact that his daughter Anifer comes first before anything even a car that is so fabulous.


Jorge drops off Valentina and Samuel at school. Valentina is surprised at how popular Lili and Baldo are having been at that school only a week. Samuel explains that it is all due to the bash that they had at the house. Jorge blesses them and sends them on their way. He then turns to Baldo and Lili and tells them to behave. Mauricio pulls up in his new car. He tells Anifer to study a lot and learn all she can. Jorge just observes. Anifer asks if Kika is his novia because she gave him a car. He says no. She is his novia because loves her. She loves him and she just happens to give him cars. Anifer gets it but doesn’t like it. When Anifer is gone, Jorge comes over and remarks about the new car and how it must have cost a fortune. Mauricio does not want him to get the wrong idea. His novia gave it to him but better yet it is part of the investment Kika is making in the toy company. It should help his image. Jorge tells him he owes him no explanations: Mauricio knows how he wants to manage his money and his company. Jorge leaves. Mauricio is left in love with his new car.

Mauricio is outside of Logatoys with Fabián who reminds him that even though Kika has given him such an expensive car she has yet to invest one peso in the company. Mauricio tells him not to be a killjoy because nobody can buy cars like this and have no money to invest. He insists that the car is proof that she will be investing in the company. Fabián says this is a case of revenge. Mauricio asks "revenge against who?." Fabián says of course it is revenge against him. She wants Mauricio let his guard down. Renée is right. Mauricio doesn't want to hear any more. Can’t Fabián see that Kika loves him? She sees him and drools which of course is understandable. Fabián says assuming all of that is true and she loves him, does Mauricio love her? Mauricio doesn’t know why Fabián has launched into this “girl” talk. He asks if he and Fabián are men or a pair of clown. He and Fabián talk about going out at night, watches, women, but . . . (“feelings”is implied)

Rafael is sitting on his front steps with a puppy when Toño sees him and comes over to talk. Rafael asks how Fidelito is doing since he was so sad about Carola leaving Toño tells him that Fidelito wanted a pet so badly he "adopted" a rat. He brought it to the festival at kindergarten. He opened the box and everybody started screaming. The rat got lost. Was he in rat heaven? Yes, Mickey and Santa Claus were well. . . . After Toño finishes describing the rat bedlam, Rafael suggests a dog to help solve the situation. He has one that he has been fostering called Rola. Toño is really happy but he has to ask the “doña” (the Madam=Verónica), of course. They both salute. Rafael has only one condition: if the dog does not work out, please just tell him first. Toño agrees that there will be no handing the dog off to someone who likes it or giving it chocolate. . . .Rafael says definitely no chocolate because it is poisonous to dogs.

At Logatoys, Mauricio is telling Kika, who is hanging all over him per usual, that he does not know if it is a good idea for him to accept gifts from a woman who is his business partner unless he can consider it part of her investment. She sees it as a gift but if he wants to pay her back for it when the company is profitable again, that is fine. Mauricio says they can agree it is not a gift but is a trade agreement. She invites him to celebrate her one million subscribers on YouTube. She also has to give him another surprise; the surprise of his life. Mauricio gets excited thinking about another sports car. No, it is something much better than all of that; something that he will never forget. She kisses Mauricio.

It is night and Nerón is getting ready to go do his stint as a watchman. Flor thought it was his day off. It was but he is covering for another watchman. He wants to play with Milady but Flor nixes that saying she is asleep and it will be too difficult to get her down again if he wakes her up. She blesses him, kisses him and sends him on his way.

Jorge is just standing outside of his house in the cul-de-sac with his arms folded As Toño comes by to see what is going on. Jorge says that he feels like an exorcist before going into confront a demonically possessed child. Nerón joins them. Mauricio drives by in his new car. Toño and now Nerón both notice it. Jorge explains it was a gift for him from his novia. Toño laughs saying he gets some socks from his wife at Christmas and that is about it. It is a big difference. Nerón can’t believe that with all of the problems at the factory, Mauricio still ends up with all of the luxury. That leads to Nerón to say that he pays his own way. Toño says that is how a real man should do it. Jorge calls them vipers and tells them to just live and let live. Toño adds it is as if Mauricio is a kept man. Just then a new SUV drives by as the driver is honking the horn. It is Verónica calling out to Toño. Before Nerón or Jorge can say anything, Toño tells them to live and let live.

At the supper table at Mauricio’s, he, Renée and Anifer are all eating in silence. Anifer gets up and the two adulta ask where she is going in unison. She tells them to calm down. The angry ones are them not her. She is going to brush her teeth. Mauricio tells Renée that he almost has the money together to help with her expenses. It is on its way. She suddenly does not want any of his money. With the rent she is getting for her house, she has enough. And if Logatoys —not Mauricio—lives up to the promise it made for her scholarship, she will not need anything else. She thanks him and leaves the table mumbling. Mauricio is hot on her heels wanting to know what she is saying. He follows her into the kitchen as she makes a crack about people being able to be bought. He makes it clear that if it is about his new car it is a professional benefit from his novia. No, that is not what she was referring to. She is talking about herself and will be paying him back for the kind payment he made to Lupe on her behalf. Mauricio asks what is wrong with her. She says nothing but then issues him a warning. She tells him to be real careful with his new car since it goes so fast and especially with his new novia. With the way things are going, he is at risk of crashing. He tells her to stop with her conspiracy theories. Why would Kika want revenge on him? There is nothing for her to avenge. The only true thing is that she adores him. Renée scoffs at that. Mauricio adds, not like some other women . . . Renée says if in the end she does take revenge on him, it will be because he deserves it. Renée thinks it is probably better for her to shut up. She picks up a pitcher of milk and a plate of bread and carries it back out to the dining room. Mauricio asks if she isn’t going to leave the milk and bread in the kitchen. She doesn’t want to. As she wanders with the milk and bread, she proclaims that she is not jealous. As she heads off in a different direction, Mauricio reminds her that the milk and bread go in the kitchen. She insists not. Mauricio tells himself that she is jealous and smiles.

At Toño’s as he is setting the table, he is telling Verónica that he does not like it when she buys things. The issue is that she has all of that money without even consulting him what to do with it. Verónica says that is because she has earned every penny herself. It is hers. Toño reminds her that when they were living just on his salary they discussed everything that they would buy together. Verónica agrees that he is right. She did not always agree but he did ask her opinion. Toño wants to know why things ahave changed now. Is it because he stays home now and she goes out to work? She says that has nothing to do with anything. The kids have noticed the new SUV and come running in. Toño sends the kids off to wash their hands before supper. Verónica wants to sit down and talk. A clearly angered Toño says he won’t because he has to heat up the soup.

Jorge tells Lili and Baldo that part of their punishment is going to be to help Pablo with his work. Pablo gives them a choice of what they would like to do. Lili goes to help Pablo with the garbage while Baldo changes the bulbs in the lanterns out side of the houses. He gets up on the ladder and comes back down when he sees Flor and Milady who are out for a stroll after being cooped up all day. He unbuttons his shirt and talks about how hot is is today. Just then Nerón arrives. He makes a comment about how hot it is and looks at Baldo’s open shirt. Nerón and Flor leave together as Nerón glances back at Baldo so he gets the message.

The next morning, Toño is making hot cakes as Verónica comes down ready to go to work. She asks him if he is in a better mood. He says more or less. He needs to talk to her before the kids come down. It has nothing to do with the SUV. After what happened with Fidelito and Pepo he has realized how much he needs a pet. Verónica sees having a pet as just a lot of responsibility. She is not excited. Toño explains it will be everybody’s pet. He gets her laughing imitating a dog as he goes to make more hot cakes.

While Renée is busy on the laptop, Mauricio lets her know that he is going to Kika’s celebration. It has something to do with her YouTube channel. He does not know when it will end. Renée does not lift her head to acknowledge him but keeps working as he talks. Mauricio continues. The celebration is to celebrate one million visitors to Kika's site. Also, Kika is going to give him the surprise of his life. It must be something really special. Renée ignores him. He says he is out of there, thanks, and goodbye. She thinks back on what she heard Kika say in the dressing room. Anifer breaks her concentration. It takes a while for Renée to stop thinking about what she heard. Yes, she will take Anifer to the park.

Mauricio arrives at the hotel where the celebration is going to be held. Kika appears telling him how good he looks. He says that the one who looks better than ever is she. She is like a movie star on the red carpet. She wants him to be by her side for the ceremony but fist she wants to ask him something. Does he love her? Mauricio smiles and hesitates. He is saved by his phone ringing but not for long. He announces that it is Renée. Kika takes the phone and says she is not going to let the maid interrupt them. If there is a problem, she can certainly take care of it. That is what she gets paid for. So, does he love her or not? He takes the phone back, turns it off and puts it in his pocket. Yes, he does love her and confesses that since he met her, she has brought back the old Mauricio. They kiss and go into the celebration arm in arm. They enter to applause and the press snapping photos of them.

Renée is upset that Mauricio is not answering his phone. She goes with Anifer to Toño’s house. She asks Toño if Anifer can come and play with his kids for a while. He says no problem.

Back at the celebration, Kika is talking on her phone to her sister telling her that Mauricio said he loves her. Her sister says that she knows what to do: humiliate Mauricio in public. They have to have revenge for their father’s sake. Kika tells her not to miss the transmission.

Pablo is helping Lili close all of the garbage bags. Lili starts guessing where he is from from his accent. She guesses Campeche. He says around there and deftly changes the conversation saying he thought he saw her dad. He says that her dad is real strict. She says he has no idea how hard it is living with him. She is fed up. He says that is a pity. He wishes he could find his dad. She hopes he appears but it is better that she help him. In going to help her their hands touch and they gaze into each other’s eyes. He quickly picks up the bags and goes to throw them away. They smile at each other.

At the celebration the master of ceremonies, introduces Kika Braun. Mauricio is by her side. Kika greets her “people” as Fabián comes in the door. Before she starts with the presentation from her channel, she has to make a very important announcement. It is something she has been preparing for a long while. Renée arrives and stands back by the entrance. Kika continues by talking about how women today choose their own destiny, with whom they live and who they have in their lives. She is going to do what few women have done. She asks Mauricio if he wants to marry her. His face drops in shock. Fabián cannot take it and leaves. Renée does not look happy. Mauricio is now smiling but looks befuddled. In a few seconds, he is smiling and saying he wishes it would have been him to ask for this pretty woman’s hand in marriage. Kika says well, it is another time and she is a progressive woman. What is the answer to her proposal? She asks him again and he looks pressured behind his smile. She asks him YES or NO? She asks him in a whisper what is he doing to her in front of all of her fans. He finally says okay, YES!!!! He accepts her proposal. Her fans go wild. They kiss. Renée leaves. Mauricio does not look as happy as he should.

At Jorge’s house, he is looking for Valentina. She is watching the whole Kika event on her laptop. She invites Jorge to come and see his boss. We are then transported back to the event where Kika is gushing about her future husband. Somewhere, her sister is angry. Kika was to take revenge not propose to Mauricio. She tells her fans not to miss the next season on her station. When they leave the stage, Mauricio asks what is going on with her supposed revenge. Is it that she wants to grab all that he has because if that is the case she isn’t going to get anything. Turning very serious, Kika must confess that she had every intention of taking her revenge on him . . . Mauricio looks surprised and worried.

Lili is talking with Pablo as they go about their work. She says that school isn’t bad but her life is nothing like in Tijuana. Here she just finds herself stuck in the house. Pablo mentions going to Los Angeles. She asks if he knows people there. He says that his dad lives there and he is going as soon as he can locate him. Lili starts ragging on Jorge who is just so boring. Pablo says that his dad always treated him well and is a good person. She says when you are a kid you put up with everything your parents dish out, but when you grow up you find your parents unbearable. They turn out to be real pains. Pablo disagrees. Parents have to work hard to pay for tuition, cell phones, clothing, and a whole bunch of things that their children aren’t even grateful for. She asks if he means that to apply to her. She never asked Jorge for anything. He is just supporting her to clear his conscience, nothing more. Pablo thinks it is just real easy to talk and ask for things when you are a child. In his opinion, nobody has the right to judge their father. That is enough for Lili who announces that she is going. She says it is always the same old same old. She is going to help Baldo. Baldo is sweeping as she asks him if he wants some help.

Mauricio wants to know why Kika would want to take revenge on him. For what he did to her is high school? If all of his sex partners came after him, he would have to go hide out in Siberia. She tells him not to make a joke out of it. Yes, what he did hurt her and she never did forget it but that was not he only thing. It was also about Arístides Braun her daddy. Suddenly Mauricio is thinking back to what Renée said to him about what she had found out in the magazines and it had something to do with what his family had done to her family but she had no proof. Kika starts to explain that many years ago her father worked with his father Bosco. They were partners, they did business that went bad in China. Her father ended up in jail for supposed fraud not one but FIVE years. Mauricio wants to know what that has to do with him. She informs him that his dad was responsible and had to pay the consequences. It was a terrible time for her family. His father paid with a sentence he did not deserve but Mauricio does not deserve revenge for what his father did. Mauricio did nothing but make her fall in love with him. Mauricio mumbles that Renée was right. Kika is not happy to hear about the maid. For Kika the past is forgotten and well buried all due to LOVE! As she puts her arms around his neck, she says that they are going to get married. Mauricio takes her arms off of his neck. He is upset since she brought up wrong doing by his dad. It might have been a mistake but he cannot see his dad as being corrupt. She only wants to start with a clean slate without any secrets or obstacles. She wants them to be happy (feliceS). (She pronounces "felices" as /felice/ dropping the final “s” as her dialect dictates.) Mauricio, already irritated, corrects her pronunciation by saying the full word: feliceS. Kika insists that that is what she said. Mauricio gives her a good hisssss to remind her of the "S".

Renée goes to pick up Anifer at Toño’s. Verónica asks if everything went well for Renée. Renée turns around and asks Toño if they are going out. Toño says it so happens the whole family is going to take a spin in their mom’s new SUV. They are not leaving right away so Anifer is going to play a few minutes as Verónica goes with Renée to retrieve the "Tupperware" (wink wink) she lent her.

Nerón is at home eating and talking to Milady so he can be with her as long as he can. Nerón is just worn out working around the clock. Flor tells him he is going to end up getting sick. She tells Nerón she is going out with the baby so he can eat in peace.. She wants to talk to Jorge’s son to get all of the information about what is going on. Nerón gets up and tells her he does not want her getting into the gossip with anybody and even less with that kid Baldo. That drooling kid and an exhibitionist to boot, just ridiculous. He is done talking. He is going To get the rest he needs. He tells her to just take care of Milady. She surprised by his attitude. She thought he was going to take care of her. He has had enough. Nerón ends up in front of a mirror trying to psych himself up by stripping to his tee shirt and flexing his biceps but ending up calling himself ridiculous.

Flor delivers some nice lemonade for Pablo, Baldo and Lili. Baldo cannot take his eyes off of her. Baldo asks Pablo what he knows about that lady referring to Flor who is with such an old guy. Pablo explains that she is his boss’ wife. Pablo says she may not actually be a part of his family but he treats her as such. He explains that Flor is in love with that old guy. Anyway, she is too old for Baldo, so he had better watch it. Baldo acts as if he doesn't understand the warning. Jorge arrives to get the kids because it is time to eat. Pablo thinks he is invited for a second but Jorge makes it clear he can just continue doing his job. Pablo is left with the lemonade and a lingering glance from Lili as Jorge talks about discipline to his kids.

Back at the hotel, Kika is asking Mauricio to believe her because she is being completely honest with him just as she would hope he would be with her. Mauricio just cannot believe what she says his father did to her father. He catches himself using “papi and asks why does she use “papi” all the time when the proper word for father is “padre”. That does not not phase her one bit, she says her “papi” said that he did not have proof. The only thing she remembers is that he said he was not guilty of anything. She does not know why that is important anyway. Mauricio sees it as being very important. She is talking about his father and his memory. Even if his father was not his favorite person and he was not his father’s favorite person, the truth has to be known. Kika has had enough. She did not know it was going to affect him so much. Better that he relax and forget all of this for a while. So she wants him to kiss her and give himself up to the "Caracan fire" that consumes her. Mauricio is not in the mood and leaves.

At Mauricio’s and over a cup of coffee, Renée is telling Verónica about the marriage proposal. Even though she says it does not bother her, Verónica sees her being very affected by the news. Whatever, Verónica says Renée would not be the first or last woman to go a round with the man she loves. Renée asks if there are problems in the "Barrientos paradise." Verónica says that Toño is furious because she bought the SUV without asking for his opinion. Now she does not know how to please him. Renée asks if couples always have “issues”. Verónica says yes, and sometimes they are worse. The truth of the matter is dealing with a man is so very complicated. That is why Renée is so happy that she is single because she is not interested in suffering at all over anything that has to do with a man. Verónica just smiles and says it might have been better that Renée admits that she likes Mauricio in the first place. Why doesn’t she just let things flow? Renée says because for the first time in her life she has allowed herself to be carried away by somebody so fake, so “just like he is“ and look what has happened. She feels like she is stupid. Verónica asks why is it that whenever we fight with a man we feel stupid. Renée answers: because we are stupid. Verónica does not quite understand that.

Mauricio is in his car talking on the phone with Fabián. He is asking him if he ever heard of a Venezuelan Arístides Braun. No, Fabián does not know him. Mauricio clarifies that it is Kika’s father. He was a partner in Logatoys years ago. His father defrauded him. He wants Fabián to do research in the archives and if he finds nothing to look threw his father’s old things. (Fabián’s father was one of Bosco’s partners.) Fabián says that Mauricio knows that all his father left behind are the notes of a mad man, a total disaster . . . etc. Mauricio agrees and apologizes. He will see Falcón at the company.

Toño has the whole family assembled outside for a surprise especially for Fidelito. Rafael is there with Rola the dog who is now going to live with them. Ernesto has to mention giving the dog chocolate. . . Toño covers his mouth and says we don’t give dogs chocolate. How can they pay Rafael? Just knowing that Rola is going to be happy with them is enough payment for Rafael.

Mauricio gets home and looks for Anifer. He finds nobody at home. He continues yelling for Anifer and as he is looking through boxes as Renée appears. When he sees her he says that he owes her an explanation. She was right that Kika wanted to take revenge on him. Renée cannot believe that because that had nothing to do with what she saw. Mauricio says it all went so fast. What was she doing at the hotel? Renée says it doesn’t matter. Mauricio agrees that she was right and he didn’t pay any attention to what she told him. . He was a fool. Anyway, it seems like he is going to marry Kika. The whole revenge thing is now history. He goes on to say truthfully he does not know what to think. Renée says she does not care what he thinks or feels. She mumbles something about it being over. He asks what is over. She informs him that she is leaving his house right now.
