Papa a Toda Madre #52 3.30.18: Surprises for Everyone (Including the Viewers)

Or Odd Couples and Odder Revenge Schemes

From his house, Rodrigo listens as Fabian threatens Mauricio outside. Fabian tell Mauricio that he can ruin his life in plenty of ways, so he should be careful. Fabian then gets in the car and drives away as Mauricio considers this.

Over dinner, Neron tells Flor about how great Mr. Robledo is and how much of a gentleman he is. Flor thinks he sounds great and is happy that he may have a friend; she then asks him about his tests from the doctor and Neron admits that he hasn’t picked up the results, but he is feeling great. To show her he is, he stands up and does a half turn before sitting down again. Flor smiles but then remembers Pablo’s situation and hopes that everything turns on fine, even if Jorge finds him. Neron thinks it will and then tells Flor all the ways Roberto and he are similar. Flor wonders if Neron “likes” Roberto but Neron laughs off her comment and wonders about Pablo and Lili.

The next day, Renee arrives at Mauricio’s and they both talk about how little they slept last night because of all that’s happening. Mauricio hopes they can keep Anifer out of all the problems they are experiencing, as he doesn’t want her to suffer, and Renee assures him no one will. Anifer then comes out of her room, all dressed and ready, and Renee jokes that a professional fashionista must’ve help her that morning. Anifer tells Renee that it was Mauricio and he tells them that he made breakfast for everything. Renee rewards him with a kiss and hug, when Anifer tells him to stop and they separate so they can have breakfast.

Jorge is washing his face when there is a knock. He foes to answer and is surprised to see it’s Lili and Pablo with Rodrigo. Jorge hugs Lili tight, happy to see her back, and Rodrigo asks Jorge to be calm. Jorge then sees Pablo and grabs him by the collar, shocked he would show his face. Rodrigo pulls them apart and asks Jorge to be calm as Lili looks at Pablo, saying with her eyes “I told you so.”

Veronica is getting ready for work when Tono knocks on the door. He looks her over and wonders if the princess allows him to pass to get fresh clothes and do his morning hygienic routine. Veronica tells him to come right in, for that anyway, and Veronica then reminds Tono that she is taking the kids for the weekend, like she said before. Tono tells her that she can do whatever she wants but he won’t help her take care of the children anymore. Veronica doesn’t need his help but Tono is sure she will, when everything plus work piles up. Tono hopes she has a good time either way and then goes off to the bathroom, hoping Veronica is not offended that he uses it. Veronica sighs heavily.

Jorge hugs Lili and warns Pablo that he will be arrested and deported for what he did. Rodrigo reminds him that Pablo brought Lili back, but Jorge doesn’t care. Lili tells Jorge to stop, as she and Pablo are through forever, and then walks away. Jorge looks at Pablo then and tells him that he wants him out of his sight forever and Pablo assures him that they won’t see or hear from him again. Jorge warns him that, should he see Pablo in the cul-de-sac again, he will be deported, and is shocked Rodrigo won’t help him. Rodrigo tells him that it is not his problem and then leaves with Pablo as Jorge shakes his head.

After breakfast, Anifer tries to collect all the dishes but Mauricio tells her that they will be without any dishes if she does. Renee promises to help her wash them for dinner and Anifer smiles before going to the kitchen. Mauricio then asks Renee if he is coming back after dropping Anifer off, but Renee must go look for work and turn in applications. Mauricio hopes the new toy line is successful, so he can help her, but Renee tells him that he’s off the hook. Mauricio proposes that he hire her again, and that way she can save up money, but then wonders if Renee will postpone her trip now that they’re together. Renee grows serious and tells him that her plans aren’t changing, and she’s not coming back to Logatoys, and he should understand. Mauricio nods but wonders why he can’t help her anymore. Renee reminds him that they are together, and she wants to do things on her own, so no one tells her that she got special treatment. Mauricio smiles and asks her why before giving her lots of kisses. Anifer comes back then and tells Renee to hurry, as they are late, and Renee obliges. At the door, Mauricio tells her that they will figure it out, as he wants to be with her forever, and Renee pinches his cheek and smiles before leaving with Anifer.

At home, Neron and Flor chide Pablo for his actions, but Pablo is adamant about crossing the border, especially now. Rodrigo promises to help him with the documentation, so he can become legal and then go find his father, but Pablo needs to leave now though he has no money and no job at the school or the cul-de-sac. He then tells Neron and Flor about Jorge’s threats but Neron smiles and offers him his job at the shop back and a place to sleep. Flor also suggests he got back to the public school and Rodrigo tells Pablo that he has options and people who love him. Pablo gets misty eyed, but Flor tells him not to cry because then she will and then Milady.

Mauricio goes into his office with Jorge and fills him in on what happened with Fabian. Jorge is surprised but Mauricio shrugs and reminds him that they must meet Laura with Tono later. Jorge prefers not to go but Mauricio insists he does and gives him permission as his boss. He thinks they all need a female point of view, but Jorge still doesn’t want to go. Mauricio wears him down by saying it will do them all a world of good and Jorge nods before telling him that everything is going according to plan regarding the toy line launch. Mauricio is happy to hear it and then looks Jorge up and down and realizes he looks terrible. He assures Jorge he can talk to him and Jorge literally lowers himself to Mauricio’s and tells him he’s okay and redirects the conversation to liquidating Fabian and Anifer’s paternity case. Mauricio hands him the (fake) DNA results and asks if the test is certified and checked out for authenticity. Jorge assumes there is, but he doesn’t know the particulars, so Mauricio asks him to place make sure that Anifer is a Lopez Garza immediately. Jorge nods and leaves.

In her suite, Kika packs her things and calls her sister to tell her that she will see her soon. Jorge then walks in and Kika hangs up before demanding to know what he’s doing there because she hasn’t done anything to him or his children anymore. Jorge is actually there to apologize and thank her for her help in finding Lili. Kika smiles and tells him that she will do anything for a fan and then asks if Lili was found. Jorge tells her she was but isn’t talking to him. Kika tells him to be patient and assures him all teenagers make mistakes, but Jorge hasn’t and Kika calls him boring. Kika then tells him to thank Valentina for her help with Lili and Jorge knows all about it. Kika thinks it’s also time that he stops butting into his children’s lives, but Jorge asks that she not say anything about his life. Again, Kika calls him a stiff and boring man but asks him to stop being so formal with her, at least this once, because she’s leaving. Jorge tries, and fails miserably, and Kika pulls him closer and asks that he call her by her name, instead of “Ms.” Jorge promises to try but looks increasingly nervous.

Mauricio arrives to pick up Anifer and Renee is surprised to see him there, as it was her turn, but Mauricio wanted to see both of the women he loves. Renee smiles but then asks him to please be honest with her because he’s looked worried since last night. Mauricio admits that the Fabian situation is stressing him out, but everything will be okay; for now, they need to figure out if she’s Noel’s daughter but without Fabian knowing. Mauricio assumes she will also have access to Noel’s inheritance, if she’s a Carvajal, but Renee just wants to reclaim her house. Mauricio worries that Fabian will stall the process, just to spite him, but promises to help her, no matter what. He then tells her that he loves her, and they kiss as Mauricio suggests they drop the Noel DNA angle and look for a solution elsewhere. Renee thinks they should drop that as well but wonders how much easier things would be if Noel was alive, that way she could have a father, at least. Just then, Anifer runs out and hugs them both. Renee asks Anifer about her day as Mauricio looks on and smiles.

Fabian talks to the white-haired man and assures him that, though their plans may be deterred, he will find a solution. He also assures the man that he did everything as planned but it didn’t work out like they expected. He then crouches down next to the man and tells him that he was always a good son, but the man doesn’t respond so Fabian assures him that he would never do anything to hurt his father (As soon as Renee wished it, the TN writers deemed it should be done! ;D)

Neron visits with his doctor to get his test results back. The doctor looks at them, groans, and moans, and tells Neron that he would like to perform more tests, just to be sure. He then chides Neron for never coming to the doctor before, and for his high cholesterol, and for not checking himself out until he felt bad and orders Neron to do more tests, as instructed, and that’s that. When Neron starts being dramatic, and asking about a plot, casket and will, the doctor orders him out and the next patient in.

Mauricio races Anifer into the house and declares the himself the winner. Anifer argues that she won but Renee thinks they are both cheaters because they elbowed her to get inside. She then sends Anifer to wash up for dinner and tells Mauricio that she will take care of her while he goes to the meeting with Laura. Mauricio smiles and explains that he never understood people in love or why they can’t live without someone in their lives, but he does now. Renee asks him to stop talking about that and Mauricio promises to support her in any decision, but he will still miss her. Renee promises to talk things over with him before leaving because they have time and then confesses that Rodrigo and Rafael want to have a child and she agreed to donate an ovum. Mauricio is surprised and confused but then realizes what it all means. Renee tells him that it’s just a donation, so they can have a kid and goes to fix up dinner.

Toon has also prepared dinner and sets the table with Tania. He then asks Fidel and Ernesto to help when Veronica arrives and they all go to hug her. They ask if she brought them a gift and she give them kisses before saying hi to Tono. Tono is shocked she finally came home early, as soon as their break started, but Veronica doesn’t want to argue; she came early to fix things up for the trip. Just then, there is a knock and it’s Tono’s mother, Esperanza, who has come because Veronica invited her on her trip with the kids. Esperanza gives Veronica a kiss and declares that she’s more than happy to help a working mother because she’s actually working. Tono looks at his mother, annoyed, but gets no sympathy.

Rodrigo comes out of Renee’s and runs into Mauricio. He and Mauricio joke about getting in trouble with the “town sheriff” before Mauricio grows serious and tells him that he knows about Renee’s egg and they don’t have a problem, yet. Rodrigo frowns and Mauricio smiles because it’s a joke. Rodrigo then reveals that he heard his fight with Fabian last night and offers his full support, should he need it. Mauricio thanks him and then asks if he can help him find someone, Juan Perez, without any other details but Anifer’s drawing. Rodrigo tells him it will be hard and complicated but will help nonetheless.

Over lunch, all the Turrubiantes children eat and think they have a better time when Jorge is gone as he doesn’t force them to pray or anything like that. Lili tells Valentina that she will wash her plate later and leaves, as does Baldo, and Samuel wonders if they will ever get a long with their siblings. Valentina doesn’t think she will with Lili, but he gets along with Baldo, just fine. Samuel thinks Kika was very nice in helping them too and Valentina confesses that she found her passport and hide it because she didn’t want her to leave. She then goes to wash the plates and Samuel takes Valentina’s plate and begins to eat it too.

All the fathers, sans Jorge, meet with Laura, but they don’t know where he is. Laura begins the meeting by asking if anyone has any problems they’d like to discuss and Tono tells them that Esperanza arrives as his house, but she asks more like his mother-in-law than Veronica, whom she loves. Laura rights this on the board and Mauricio proposes they also talk about how and when to lie to your kids and what about. Laura writes that too as Jorge slams into the door and walks inside. Laura asks him about his day and Jorge confesses that his daughter ran away but came back that morning though everything is fine right now. Laura is shocked but tells Jorge that there should be a code of ethics and rules in every family and Jorge gets close to her, so he can film her. Laura looks slight uncomfortable when Jorge repeats what she said but soldiers on.

That night, Mauricio takes a blindfolded Renee around the cul-de-sac, but Renee confesses that she hates surprises because they never come out how people plan them. Mauricio smiles and then stops in front of the gazebo and tells her that he did everything himself. When he takes off the blindfold, she smiles when she sees a candlelit walk way to the gazebo, which has a dinner of sandwiches for two, on a budget but made with lots of love. He then reveals a second surprise, Fonseca (who sings the theme song) who meets Renee and performs a song as Renee and Mauricio watch and kiss from a few feet away.

Sometime later, Renee and Mauricio get up and dance and Renee asks Mauricio to never stop surprising her. Mauricio smiles and gives her a big kiss as Fonseca sings.

The next day, Mauricio surprises Anifer with a bicycle and teaches her how to ride. Tono moves into the room at Renee’s house but his face shows how unhappy he is. Roberto and Neron bond and tell each other about their lives. Mauricio and Renee inflate a kiddie pool for Anifer and take her swimming.

Later, it’s finally Christmas time and Mauricio and Renee have built a beautiful tree for Anifer.

At Jorge’s, they have also built a tree but can’t get the lights to turn on and stay on. (Even that tree feels the pressure from Jorge)

Later, Mauricio walks into his office with Jorge and asks about the audit. Jorge confesses that there were a lot of irregularities, but they can talk about it later as Tono is on his way in. Jorge leaves and Tono, who seems to have been re-hired, asks Mauricio how he wants him to send him the new designs for the new toy line. Mauricio asks him to send them over, so he can decide, and then asks about the party for tonight. Tono assures him everything is ready, but Mauricio doesn’t care about making a mistake as only people he trusts will be there. Tono thinks he should focus on the new toy line’s growing sales and Mauricio is happy, as they needed a win. Tono then receives a call from Laura and walks away for a moment.

In his office, Jorge calls his children to warn them that they must be ready on time as they have to make it to the party on time. Baldo thinks he should tell Lili and Valentina, as they take the longest, but Jorge asks him to spread the word. He then tells Baldo that he’s happy things have finally calmed down and Baldo agrees. A moment later they hang up and Jorge receives a call from Kika, who he texts back “that he will see her soon.” He then sprays some cologne on his neck and breath mint on his mouth but complains that it is too strong.

Sometime later, Kika walks into the bedroom of her suite and smiles because she thinks there is nothing better than a nice welcome after her flight from Miami. Turns out that Jorge is waiting for her in bed, after a round of lovemaking, and assures her that he will come whenever she desires. She kisses him and wonders how they have such intense chemistry; Jorge doesn’t know but Kika thinks her body is partially to blame. She then asks him to come back after the party at Logatoys and they can enjoy round two. Jorge is surprised but Kika tells him that she’s not tired, so Jorge promises to come later.

Tono arrives at the school and finds Veronica and Laura waiting for him. Laura closes the door and tells them that they must talk things over, together, because Ernesto is having some problems. Veronica reminds him that she asked him to be mindful of the children but Tono wonders if that was before or after their break. Laura talks over them and explains that a couple’s problems usually affects their children but she’s there to talk about something else. Laura grows quiet and then confesses that she suspects Ernesto may suffer from attention deficit disorder. Tono and Veronica are floored at the news...

Great title Alfredo. And there certainly were surprises, fortunately, some good. Excellent recap and simply outstanding screen shots.

Lili is home safe and sound! Jorge was so relieved to see her, my heart went out to him. It would have been nice had he put his anger at Pablo aside, but in all honesty, I can't really blame him. If Lili were my daughter, I would have been beside myself with grief and worry. Pablo put her in grave danger. Yes, Lili was a willing participant but the ending could have easily had a very different, disturbing finish.

I really like Jorge and Kika. She brings out a softer side of him and softens his foreboding persona. I also smiled at Jorge's taping of Laura. He came in and took over the entire session even though Tono and Mau had pressing issues to discuss.

While I'm not sensing combustible chemistry, Mau and Renee are very sweet together. The "candlelit walk way" was a lovely gesture.

I wonder why such hatred fuel Noel's soul. He seems to loathe his son as well. As do we, but at least he has done his father's bidding. He has done none of ours.

Tono and Vero's marriage has disintegrated before our eyes and every successive scene is painful. If Ernesto's diagnosis is correct, this will either irretrievably end their marriage or be a painful, agonizing therapy that saves it.

Alfredo, thank you for all the care and effort you give every single recap. It is so appreciated.

Diana

Alfredo, thanks for this great recap, it was very nice of you to do an extra night so Cynthia could get a break while she recovers. I loved your titles, they fit this episode just right. For now I think that Nerón and his new bff, Roberto, are the oddest couple... but they have competition.
Flor was very funny, as always, when she wondered about Nerón's "liking" (wink, wink) the guy. I still think Nerón will pay for this when Flor finds out what he's been up to.

Miss Kika and Georgy Boy are another odd couple, but not that much of a surprise. It has been building for a while now, though I was rooting for Laura. Anyway,
"[Kika] then asks him to come back after the party at Logatoys and they can enjoy round two. Jorge is surprised but Kika tells him that she’s not tired, so Jorge promises to come later." Very nicely put, sir.

Nerón's doctor annoys me too. Why can't he give Nerón a straight answer to his questions. Why does he keep ordering more tests and then tell Nerón he should be checked more often? They are two separate issues.

The "two months later" bit also annoyed me somewhat. There were a lot of issues pending with just about everybody, and then all of a sudden we are in the Christmas season? Sheesh!
At least Nerón should be finished with his tests now...
Well, maybe, that doctor sure seemed to know how to stretch things out.

More later (you have been warned). I gotta go sleep it off; I jumped the gun and now the poor chocolate Easter Bunny has no ears.

:-)

Andy

Thank you, Alfredo, for yet another wonderful recap.

I always enjoy the music performances that are some times embedded in the novelas. Another fun note.

Diana, I agree that Mauricio and Renée’s relationship is “sweet” as compared to the eyeful we got of Jorge and Kika. That was a surprise but if it keeps him off the kids’ case, all the better. I cannot wait until they find out.

Andy, yes, I think you are right that Flor will make Nerón pay for his harebrained scheme as she should. Nerón needs to fire his doctor. The guy is annoying as you stated.

It seems that both Pablo and Lilí are almost eighteen but not quite. Someone alluded to his age last night. I am happy that Rodrigo would have no part in turning Pablo in.

Alfredo - thank you for your recap!

Dos messes despues? We got despuesed? And no inkling that Vero is having a hard time juggling career and home & kids? At least Toño has a job. Finally.

Jorge & Kika in the sack! I was all "Que the hell"? When she kept grabbing him by his tie in that earlier scene, I knew those two would end up together for sure, but totally did not see that coming at this point in time. I had to rewind and watch again to be sure I had not fallen asleep and dreamed that scene. Yeesh! Good ol' Jorge The Uptight is so guilty of ye olde double standard. Maybe this is one CrockPot Theory™ of mine that will come to fruition?

So Ernesto has ADD. I'll bet Toño has undiagnosed ADD as well and I'll out money on that. He reminds me of the ADD adults I know. This could be a big part of his problems.

Happy Easter and Haooy Passover to all!

Andy, the ears are always the first to go in our house, too. LOL 🐰

Gah!!! Autocorrect is my enema!

Happy Passover

Plus more I won't try to list. Y'all will figure that out. I need chocolate. Now.

Oh, and it was really nice that the Pablo/Lili crossing the border thing was not dragged out.p

Is there any mystery why there is that third 'A' in Mr. AAA our recapper's title? Amazing Alfredo Aparicio wow. Thank you from all of us, and thank you on behalf of our wounded Cynthia too.

So Pablo and Lil are done? So they said last night. Pablo better go home and pray fervently to the fertility Gods that they really are. Bullet dodging is tricky young man, good luck. So Pablo is back, has a bed at Mr Dying's and his job back at the bald tire warehouse. But he is broke again, and has Mr. Hater two doors down to further cheer up his life. Learn something Pablo. Don't sleep with crazy chicks, and if it seems too good to be true, it just might be. And check IDs. Yeah..check IDs.

I was mystified with the blindfolded candle walk, as it was a fairly long walk which Renee did without benefit of sight. Could she feel the heat or smell them? See? I'm not good at those things.

Renee also appears to have grown substantially since the show began. I noticed there is a lot more of her sticking up out of her tops and a LOT more sticking DOWN out of her dresses too. Or wardrobe washed her stuff in hot.

Jorge is not a bad looking guy when he removes his glasses. And not to imply anything naughty, but he IS about 7 feet tall and ole Kik sure looked happy. Fasten your seatbelt Georgy Boy it's a Loooong way to Miami.

Kirby - during Renee's candle walk, I noticed she was wearing a tunic and wondered where were her leggings/pants.

Thanks Alfredo, agree with Kirby there's a reason why we call you AAA. Like triple-A we can always call on you in an emergency and you deliver! Great screencaps by the way of all those sweet romantic moments.

"At Jorge’s, they have also built a tree but can’t get the lights to turn on and stay on. (Even that tree feels the pressure from Jorge)"

Loved that line especially Alfredo. Yep, our long tall drink of water is intimidating even the tree.

Now I have to admit, I thought that sexy bed scene twixt Kika and Jorge was just his fantasy. But if it's real, hooray! That ought to loosen up and lighten up our stiff ol' lawyer considerably.

Now did anyone else get a huge Mixed Message from Vero? When Toño was coming in the marital bedroom to use the bath, she fluffed her hair and arranged her skirt, crossed her long gams and looked oh so lovely as he poked his head in the door. I think she still wants him to yearn for her and be as interested as he once was. And that's the purpose of this break.

But who knows? My predictions have the same dismal track record as Andy Banda's and Doris'. And hey, if you guys are already getting into the Easter candy, by golly I am too then! Where's that Cadbury dark chocolate egg!

JudyB - I noticed Vero preening for Toño's entrance into the bedroom, too, and wondered "why bother if you're serious about dumping him?"
I think this marriage will be saved. CrockPot Theory™ #338. 😉

Alfredo: This is a good recap.

Doris: Fabian will continue winning until the Gran Final.

Judy: So I see that Ernesto has AD.

Hooray. The patio is in top form today. So eat another ear and put your thinking caps on, because I have questions.

Sooo ...has Old Boy been in hiding for the past fifteen or twenty years, and been in cahoots with his Son the Serpent Fabian this whole time?
Was he waiting for Renee's Mom to die to implement his devilish scheme?
So Fab and Mau are like brothers for decades, all the while Fab and his Dad are faking Old Boy's death?
At what point do you Baker Act the old fool and get on with your life?
So let's see, Old Man Chevelle (or whatever) is maybe something like a hundred years old now? How long does he have left to enjoy all the misery he has orchestrated these days? Shouldn't he have gotten in the race before the last lap?

Good morning everyone.

Andy, I think Flor will be extremely perturbed when she finds out what Neron has been up to. RE: the doctor? I fear if you keep searching, you will find something.

Jarifa, I was relieved Rodrigo had no hand in turning Pablo in either. He has proven to be kind hearted and very intelligent. While Lili is very upset, I'm not convinced she won't rethink everything once she calms down. They were so lucky nothing tragic happened!

"Dos messes despues? We got despuesed?" and "CrockPot Theory™" cracked me up doris. You are in fine form today.

Judy, after I read your commment, I rethought Vero and Tono's "bedroom" scene. Perhaps there was a come hither aura. You never fail to catch gthe multitude of emotions swirling in the scenes.

Kirby, perhaps your wise avatar might be able to offer some answers to your questions. I can't remember the history. Wasn't the company strictly Mau's parents or was Fab's father involved somehow? What fuel could have burned that hatred for so many years. And as vile as he likely is, Fab's holding his paternity over Mau's head (with no regard for his daughter whatsoever) makes me think he is far more dastardly and cruel than his father. Steve, I think Fab will persist until the end too. Sadly.

Cynthia, hoping you are better today. Keeping you in our thoughts and prayers.

Diana

Best wishes for Easter and Passover to all!

Diana, one reaches a certain age and the doctors will always “find” something.

Diana remember someone said recently that after Fabians Mother died, his Father sold out his shares and lost interest in Logatoys.

I have yet to see a medical situation in a TN which does not "Need More Tests."

I suspect they are using the snail shells like Nanciyaga (Mar Contreras) in Lo Imperdonable for these ongoing tests.

Thanks Alfredo!!!

Cynthia, sending warm thoughts your way this morning.

Jorge has shown Kika more affection in one scene than all 4 kids combined. I hope he takes this new opportunity with Lily to get close to her. She didn't want to come back. Pablo made her.

Vero still loves Tono. She's just really mad and tired and stubborn. I just can't seem them getting divorced.

Didn't Mau say that Fabs father was like a second father to him? A great man? So what the hell happened for him to fake his death and try to hurt Mau and the company?

Good morning, good folks!

Doris, yeah, we got despuesed. And at least dos messes swept under the rug, for now anyway. I sure hope they catch us up on what all has happened. It didn't look like great progress at Jorge's house, though Georgy Boy himself seems happy that Kika has started pulling his necktie. BTW Doris, you and Autocorrect make a great team :-)

Kirby, some excellent questions! But I too wonder about Fab and Mau having been great Bros. I remember that Mau never wanted to hug Fab and had wondered if Fab was gay.

I don't know much about ADD, does a kid possibly having it rise to the level of seriousness that would qualify it for a weekend cliffhanger?

Andy

"it for a weekend cliffhanger?" Web MD doesn't mention it.

Thank you, Alfredo.

I think Mauricio should have done more to prepare for the confrontation with Fabian. It is obvious that Fabiux will not just disappear from their lives. And the biggest threat is the paternity rights. I think Mau should have told Renée that Fabian is the father, and that she may be the aunt. And they should have done a test to prove it. And then, I think they should have told Anifer.

Fab's father looked like he was in a state of conscious dementia --- awake, the lights are on, but nobody is home. The man never looked at him, responded, nothing. It was truly weird. (Norman Bates, anyone? "Yes, Mother....")

Maybe Fab's dad was strong-armed into selling his share of LogaToys?

"Jorge has shown Kika more affection in one scene than all 4 kids combined." Carvivle - Not sure that was affection so much as Jorge being a Jorn-dog. After all, he bedded Yurira the night before his wedding to whatshername.

I want to see Fabian, Jorge and Mauricio have that conversation: "Hey when you.....did she make that little ........?"

Small world huh fellas?

Poor Tono is left out.
He got rid of Yolo and has been kicked out by Vero, and is not in the batting rotation with Kik either.
What's he gonna do?

Dam it's tough being a dirtbag.

Kika may beat Renee on sex appeal.
But she is not in the ball park with Renee on Mating appeal.
No contest.

Good Day, Everyone. Wow the patio is rockin' today, but with that episode it was expected! Mr. AAA thatnk you so much for stepping in for Cynthia and provideing us with this A-mazing episode!

So the snake's dad lives! HA! Doris, Fab;s father didi look like he was in some kind of state, but I'm not sure it is dementia if he came up with this plot to destroy Logatoys and Mau. He looked more psycho/schizo to me especailly when he has surrounded himself with that dark model of Logatoys and the figurines.

Carvivlie, "Didn't Mau say that Fabs father was like a second father to him? A great man? So what the hell happened for him to fake his death and try to hurt Mau and the company" Mau saying taht Fab's father was like a second father to him ( and he even said he wished he had been his dad some time back) is puzzling to me too. Mau's father didn't seem to be so bad and everytime Mau views the videos it seems that he enjoys seeing his father. Fab's father's motive??? Not sure, but Mau did say that Noe designed the first toys that were produced by Logatoys; so maybe, in his deranged mind, he believes Logatoys should have been his all along....BUT I like my harebrained idea that he was really in love with Mau's mother and blames the factory for her death :-) AND maybe he hates Mau because Bosco left the entire company to Mau...and nothing for Noe.

Kirby, "remember someone said recently that after Fabians Mother died, his Father sold out his shares and lost interest in Logatoys." Yes, Mau told Renee that when she told him he might be her father. He also said that Noe, the serpent's daddy, had become somewhat of a hermit and didn't want to associate with any one after his wife died right after Fabian was born--that is why he left the company. You pose very good questions; I just wnat to add one more--if Fabian's mother died when he was born...and Noe withdrew from everyone, when did he have his affair with Renee's mother? Is Renee older than Fabian? (ok that is two questions :-)

JudyB, "Now did anyone else get a huge Mixed Message from Vero" YES!! The woman seems quite confusing...and it seems she expects Tonto to read her mind. I was also perturbed that she contacted Tonto's mother without even mentioning it to him. I'm not saying she should have asked him for his input, but at least advise the man that his mother is being summoned! That just proves Tonto's case that she has no consideration for him...and she expects him to accept everything without question??

Jorge and Kika together??? I almost got whiplash!

It seems the writers needed to study the timelines a bit more. If Old Boy withdrew from Logatoys and life in general shortly after the snake hatched, that puts him out of the picture when Mau is still a tiny tot, or Mau is at least a decade older than Fab for him to have so many fond memories of OldFart.

"Jorge and Kika together??? I almost got whiplash!"

Yeah, when that hit my screen I wondered if Jorge was there willingly and I started looking for handcuffs or ropes but quickly decided that with Kika that wouldn't necessarily prove anything.

It would be no surprise if Fabian has kept his father drugged all this time so he can achieve his own nefarious goal. It would explain that old man's condition, if it's not dementia.

Doris: Fabian was born to be EVIL after all.

Mark Tacher is good at portraying villains.

At first when I saw Jorge and Kika together, I thought he was dreaming. : )

Exact;y! Me too Jarifa.

May everyone have a blessed and happy Easter/Passover....and may the chocolate bunnies brighten your day!

At first when I saw Jorge and Kika together, I thought he was dreaming. : )

Add me to the list of those who thought that, and

I started looking for handcuffs or ropes but quickly decided that with Kika that wouldn't necessarily prove anything.

agreed!

and since Jorge went straight from his office to Kika's hotel, and appeared to be in his underwear, I had another two odd thoughts:
1) he was wearing a T-shirt; does he not work out as much as most of the Televisa galanes?
2) it looks like boxers; no comments on that from the ladies who were so quick to say no way when it was Mau and now-not-so-Fab? I have to admit that boxers do seem more appropriate for Georgy Boy.

:-)

Andy - nothing wrong with boxers! But please, no tighty-whiteys. 😳

Give up Andy. Our patio pals with would fall all over over Mauricio wearing a Kroger bag.

I'd venture that Jorg is a lot slimmer than Mau and the snake. And I'm not going to be catty with any plastic comments like we have heaped on poor Kika.

Because I'm nice.

(but mainly 'cause I'm outnumbered)

:-)

no tighty-whiteys

Oh, the things I am learning here!

:-)

:-)

Andy

Hello, patio. I have a little break from family Easter activities.

Thank you, ALfredo, for stepping up to provide us with a recap.

Cynthia, I hope that you are feeling better soon. Good vibes ))))))))))))))

Did you see the big, old orange moon tonight? As we drove home from our daughter's house at 8pm, it was hanging low and looking enormous.

Wow...time flies. Christmas? Jorge and Kika in bed? How did that happen? I'll bet he wasn't lecturing her the way he does everyone else. Who will cast that first stone now?

The candlelit walk was sweet, but why blindfold REnee so that she could not SEE it? Wasn't the whole purpose to dazzle and amaze her?

To me, it seemed that Fab's dad was drugged...perhaps. very odd.

Do you folks have Peeps candy where you are? It is manufactured in our area, and it is a big deal around here, especially at eastervtime. The owner was a student in the high school where I taught.

Judy..it looks like snow us headed our way on Monday a.m. IS that your prediction, too?

I wonder how Vero's trip with the kids and her mother-in-law went. That was just sort of left dangling.

Susanlynn, I love Peeps and have some tropical flavored ones this Easter. Wow! You actually live in Peep country. I wonder if they have a factory store outlet . . . .

Happy Easter Morning. On the Peeps question there's a big kerfuffle between the union and the owners about not offering pensions to any of the new workers. Controversy at Easter.

And shouldn't be thinking about men's underwear on Easter morn, but since the discussion went there, I love the Duluth Trading Company ads for underwear. Or anything, really. Those ads always run during sporting event which I love.

So my vote for Jorge, now that he's in action again, is ditch the t-shirt and get some Duluths.

Thanks Judy. I had been wanting to add kerfuffle to my arsenal of words for some time, but couldn't figure out the spelling.

Oh, and a very Hoppy Easter to all.

Out of curiosity I went shopping on Google:

Duluth, $39.50 for a T-shirt? They're smoking crack.

"4.8-oz. 58% polyester/42% nylon knit", which here in Florida is like wearing a plastic bag.

But their sports event ads are good.

YIKES

I would imagine nice, loose all cotton boxer shorts would be the way to go in Florida. JudyB, off to church now!

Good morning , all. Happy Easter.

Jarifa, THe Peeps stores around here are very expensive. It is probably more expensive than buying the candy in any other place just like Hershey Park has all kinds of chocolate inspired items...none cheap. The Peeps stores have all kinds of Peeps inspired items. There is a peeps store in the local casino!!!! I bought cute peeps teddy bears for my grand girls.

Judyb...yes, Just BOrn has had issues with this in the past. Not surprised. I remember my former student...just saying....

I kind of like the long legged jockey shorts ;-);-);-)

Gotta go ....Easter dinner and a backyard egg hunt to prepare.

Happy EAster....to all my peeps !!!! sun is supposed to appear today after these clouds go away. Then, a couple inches if snow tomorrow....grrrrr.

Did you all see that big old moon last night?

I just remembered...a city in the area has a big Peeps inspired New Year's EVe celebration and drops a giant Peep instead of a traditional ball.

JudyB, the Peeps teddy bears sound so cute. I have a plush yellow Peep Easter basket.

Happy Easter all!

Count me in on seeing the beautful moon last night Susanlynn. I've always thought it was a symbol of dreams, of hope.

Likewise, the Duluth ad. Didn't realize they were so pricey. Or had "nylon knit". :)

A lot of enthusiasm for peeps here. One of my closest friends loves them and I always buy them for her when I see them.

Happy Easter to everyone. Went to Easter Vigil candlelight mass last night and am feeling very peaceful.

Diana

Diana , my family went to Stations of the Cross on Thursday night. We planned to go today, but the 5year old sand 7 year old both have colds and are not feeling great. Getting ready to put the ham into the oven. Hubba is hiding the eggs in the backyard.

Peeps come in all colors and forms now..bunnies, hearts, snowmen, etc...but I still favor the original yellow peeps. They remind me of the peeps on our farm. Peep peep peep. My older daughter has always been a big fan of peeps.

Happy Easter y'all!

Our son and 4y/o granddaughter are coming over for lunch & indoor egg hunt(thanks, rain) in an hour. I've been cooking all morning.

We love Easter Vigil service and always attend. Missed it last night due to funeral for former next door neighbor. Lovely family and best neighbors we ever had.

Peeps .... there are some websites like peepresearch.org and YouTube videos of the same vein that are cute. Just sayin' ... They do tend to migrate through our area in large colorful flocks this time every year. 😉🐣🐣🐣

I like the Duluth TC ads on TV, too. We get their catalog, don't know why, and their products look very good. I still question a nylon blend tee shirt. Maybe in winter? Definitely not in summer. Ugh.

We have a Duluth store. Excellent quality They also have good sales.

Happy Easter!

I did not make it to church today, I just didn't want to be part of the crowd outside, milling about, wondering where the entrance was.

I'm another vote for natural fiber rather than petrochemicals. Whenever possible I go with cotton or wool, no plastic.

I'm looking forward to tomorrow and getting back to unreality and, perhaps, even an answer or two.

Andy

Happy Easter, Everyone!

Talking about that beautiful moon...this is from Fox news, posted yesterday...

During the days leading up to Easter, the most sacred day in Christianity, the heavens have been presenting a stunning light show. ... Moreover, this Easter’s blue moon is extra special, because it is the second one this year...

Oh and on the topic of underwear for Jorge...I don't really care; I want to see Mau in the Duluth Buck Naked Performance Briefs :-D

RgvChick - LOL!!! Gotta let "the boys" breathe. 😄

Doris, i’m sure the ‘boys” will get some air...one way or another :-D 😜

Kirby, I’m sure I’ll be needing some of your Doritos! LOL

Very funny RgvChick. Their undies prices are out of this world sale or no sale.

Andy, ITA, nothing like natural fibers. It is getting harder and harder to find those. Try finding a 100% wool winter coat or jacket. Sort of like the search for the holy grail. . .

Andy. Smart. I only wear natural fibers, Cotton, Wool or Silk in rare instances, but mostly ties. And Cotton or Wool does not kill anything. The wool is a byproduct of a haircut in essence. But I admit I can't live without leather.

All this malarky recently about these wonderful synthetic fibers wicking etc. etc. etc. is just marketing misinformation designed to make people want to buy clothing made of a byproduct of producing gasoline or to find a use for recycled drink bottles.

And normal shirts, if they even have a smidgen of polyester in them, they develop those tiny dingleberries where your beard rubs the collar and around the cuffs. Gah !

OT: Eagle season is over. The famalia with my favorite, Junior, are all out of the nest now, with the youngsters flying around. For lack of anything else I called the more mature one Junior, and then when the other started maturing I couldn't think of a name so I just called it Junior Jr.

I went by today and Junior and Jr.Jr. were sitting near the nest and Mom and Pop were in a nearby tree. I drove over to the park and returned and Junior was sitting in a tree with Pop.

Doritos! LOL
Easter, the most sacred day in Christianity,

The depravity and sacrilige here among the peeps and Cadbury Bunnies.

Andy and I are trying to convince people we have actually been in the same state with a copy of GQ, and I am running on about my favorite bird, and look what we wade into.!

Kirby, thanks for reminding me of silk. Yeah, mostly ties, but back when I actually rode my bicycle I would do laps in a nearby park all year round. It's a hilly park and it's very easy to go over 40 mph downhill. I suppose it's not a problem in Florida, even in winter, but here in NY: subfreezing temps + high wind speed + exposed skin = frostbite. So I wore silk underwear and synthetic windbreaking outerwear, silk balaclava and wrap around glasses. But I often had the roadway to myself and had fun.

Never got overheated.
:-)

Chickie, I think Mau and Fakian lucked out that none of the Caray ladies were among those stuffing bank notes into their boxer waistbands.

Or was it their bad luck?

:-)

:-)

Andy

I saw this flying over a few minutes ago and thought it was a perfect Easter shot.

Kirby, that is a beautiful shot and you're right...puuurfect for the Easter holiday. The eagle shot was really good too...interesting and amazing how birds take care of their young :-)

Yes, what a perect avatar for Easter! Beautiful Kirby.

Susanlynn sounds like you and all those doing Easter egg hunts are having a good day. Sounds like fun.

"I did not make it to church today, I just didn't want to be part of the crowd outside, milling about, wondering where the entrance was" made me laugh out loud Andy.

Thank you for the info on the moon RgvChick. You and doris are cracking me up.

Geez, I didn't even get an Easter basket at all let alone "a plush yellow Peep Easter basket"/ I'm a bit jealous Jarifa!

The weekends just fly by. Back to work tomorrow. Sigh.

Diana

Okay, dinner went well. The girls liked their Easter gifts and the egg hunt . Hubba filled a lot of plastic eggs with quarters and hid them all over the back yard! Then, badmitten. Then , storytime. Then, movietime.."Sleeping Beauty," Then, milk and brownies time. Yawn.

Judy...When I made the baked corn pudding today, I realized as I scanned the recipe that I forgot to tell you about the two tablespoons of sugar...sorry. I wasn't home when I got your request and gave you the recipe from memory. My family, especially my son-in-law, loved it...only a bit left.

Okay Susanlynn. I'll add in those two tablespoons of sugar. We're not supposed to be eating any of the traditional yummy Easter dishes because of my husband's heart issues, but I couldn't help myself...I made a big batch of deviled eggs. Tomorrow though I'm taking them down to my daughter and son in law's who both love them. And they're young enough to still eat those suckers and get away with it.

JudyB, dreaming of ham, broccoli with hollandaise sauce, cheese scalloped potatoes and corn pudding....and a big fat carrot cake for dessert
#inmydreams

I'm stuffed!

The weekends just fly by. Back to work tomorrow. Sigh.

Cheer up Diana! Remember that it's only the first five days after the weekend that are really bad.

:-)

Andy

Aaaaaaand...we have snow! Very pretty. But it's April dang it. No need to shovel driveway though. Happy Monday everybody, with or without "nieve".

I'll keep that in mind Andy :)

Judy, it just started snowing here but is 40 degrees. Doesn't seem to be sticking - just nuisance snow.

Susanlynn, your day sounded exhausting, but fun. Children always seem to make holidays even more special.

Diana

Well that figures Diana. The snow was here last night, now it's made it's way to your end of the country.

Gorgeous picture Kirby. My mom always used to say "Little birds from the nest must fly." partially as a reminder that it was our job to GET A JOB and move OUT after college.

Like any established neighborhood there are a lot of doves and pigeons, but there is that pure white one who flies around sometimes. It gets up there and flies in these irregular circles as fast as it can go, darting and dipping and buzzing around.

So of course, since something that zips around like a housefly is almost impossible to photograph, I just HAD to try. The bird's flight is so erratic that by the time you can get it into the viewfinder, even a good camera with a fast lens does not have time to lock focus before you have lost it. But yesterday I finally got a decent shot of it and VIOLA !

I at first thought it was a pet, but it does not appear to live with any of my neighbors. Thus far it has not visited my bird/squirrel feeder.

My Easter was spent cleaning the car, waxing the motorcycle and chasing birds, though they can fly and I can't.

kj

There is some girl on Despierta America this morning who is supposedly a fashion and beauty expert. As I was typing the blurb about the bird above she was on in my background and I instinctly turned around to see what Kika was doing on TV this time of the morning.

She has that same bla bla bla blaaaaaa, blah, blah blaaaaaah bla speech as Kika. Now I wonder, is it a glamour thing?

Good Morning, Patio Pals! No snow in the RGV, just sun and LOTS of wind. Sounds like everyone had a nice, productive day yesterday. Hope your Monday is equally as good :-)

Let's see how the story continues to unfold tonight..

Laters!

Thanks, Alfredo.

I too thought Jorge must've been dreaming. So Kika thawed him out and she is crazy for a guy who wears a short-sleeved undershirt in bed? Okay.

I have to tell myself "it's only a silly shown" when Renee and Mau are so casual about her donating an egg. The egg will one day be a kid who will wonder about bio-mama.

Never thought I'd side with Tono against Veronica, but I am. Love him moving in with R&R.

When I see "R&R" I always think "rest & rehabilitation". (I'm a military brat.) But looks like our own R&R are offering same to Toño, Renee, and who else?

Great photo, Kirby! If that thing is an albino, I wonder if it is blind or partially blind because of that? Might explain the erratic flight pattern.

Snowpocalypse v5 -- We saw on the news this morning that y'all have received more snow this year than in the past ten years. They did not specify if that meant any single year in the past ten, or cumulatively. Oh well, it's been a rough winter & spring for you. Hopefully your area will have a really nice summer and no heat waves.

Interesting question about the dove I've always wondered about the white doves they release at Ceremonies for ribbon-cuttings and dedication of new churches or hospitals or something like that are they raised in captivity and then turn loose. only to fly away and die of starvation because they don't know how to feed themselves just for that 3 or 4 seconds of of Fame when they're initially turned loose

"Fame":
Speech to text, (in the car a minute ago at a traffic light) inspired by the common vocabulary of millennials, decided that fame must be the name of a TV show or Movie rather than a descriptive noun.

It might be one of those white doves released at weddings whose GPS has crashed.

Hello. Woke up this morning to 5inches of snow and no electricity. Local schools closed. Found out from the guy who is finishing our daughter's basement (who is also the local volunteer fire chief) that someone hit a pole about a mile from our house...500 out of power. Well, the power is on again.

Kirby , perhaps that singsong (muy annoying )pattern of speech is the Mexican version of being a VAlley girl.

R & R are wonderful neighbors.
