Papá a toda madre Wednesday 3/7/18 Capítulo 36: The Cheese Stands Alone--OR--Mauricio Comes to His Senses

We catch up with Nerón who is having a hard time getting Milady to go to sleep. He says she doesn’t know him anymore. Flor tells him he should just go to sleep himself or he will not have slept in 24 hours. In his sweaty sweats, Nerón is concerned that they haven’t had any sex in a while. She is clearly not in the mood. He keeps on pushing the issue because he says he is always ready. She finally tells him she has an issue with him being all sweaty from the gym and stinky. She tells him to go take a shower. She will make him some food. He ends up sniffing his own armpit and is taken aback by the stench.

At Jorge’s, the family has arrived at home from the Pubic Ministry/Police Station. It is silent until Jorge tells Valentina and Lili to go make something to eat. Samuel is told to go up to his room and to do his homework so as not to fall behind. Jorge sits down at the head of the table. Only Baldo is left. He wants to know if Jorge is going to talk to him. Baldo says he just wanted to get sent back to Tijuana. Since he is getting the cold treatment from Jorge, he decides to go to his room and Jorge can let him know when it is time to eat. Jorge speaks up and tells Baldo if he pulls another stupid stunt like he did today he will be sending him to a military boarding school. Baldo asks him why he doesn’t just send him to juvenile court whenever he feels like it. He goes to his room.

Kika is crying as her sister tells her that at least Mauricio didn’t break up completely with her. He just broke the engagement. To Kika it is all the same and she has high hopes of winning him back. She starts going on and on about all she has to offer listing her physical attributes. As Kika continues, her sister concludes she will be the one crying having to listen to her.

At Toño’s, the kids are eating breakfast. (Ernesto is telling him that the tree that Anifer fell out of was gigantic almost like him. Toño says if it were like him it would be a little bush. Ernesto laughs. Toño just smiles and tells him not to make fun of him. He tells all of his kids not to do those kind of things and to think about things before doing them like he does. . . at least sometimes. Tania nods her head in agreement. Toño concludes that Ernesto did not climb the tree and asks him if that is right. Ernesto says he did not. He makes Ernesto look him in the eyes to check the veracity of his statement. Fidelito spills his milk on the floor. Toño tells the kids it is just an accident like what happened to Anifer. They will have to ask Renée how Anifer is doing and when she is home they will have to go to visit her.) The phone rings and it is Verónica calling Toño to tell him that she will not be home as early to celebrate as they planned. She has too much work. He says they will just have to leave the celebration pending until another time. A disappointed Toño hangs up.

Mauricio informs Anifer that she will be missing school for a few weeks but that they can get all of her work from her teacher. She says okay “papá”. Mauricio tells her that every time he sees her she is prettier and pretends to yell out of the window ”She called me “papá”. They both yell “papá” in unison. Anifer starts to talk about her mother and writing her so Mauricio deftly changes the topic to telling Anifer a story that her grandma Aurora always told him one when he was sick. Anifer is excited about that. As he starts, Renée comes in the room. She is surprised and smiles when she hears Anifer call Mauricio “papá”. Once upon a time, there was a little girl who asked her papá to tell her a story . . ,

Lili is outside talking to Pablo. He doesn’t think that Lili and Baldo should be lying and trying to hurt Jorge. Lili moans about Jorge being a pain, having slapped Baldo and the terrible things he does to his kids. Pablo cannot get into it because he would not care if his father were a pain, strict or a bore. What he would give to see him again! Lili asks if he really loves him that much. Pablo says yes and so much more. He then confesses that he is from Guatemala and he came looking for his father. Lili smiles and says now she knows why he talks so funny. He calls himself a "chapín" (what people from Guatemala call themselves) and is very far away from home. He left his family to go find his dad. He is all alone and does not like seeing her not appreciating her situation with a father and three siblings. She may not love her father but he does provide for her and take care of her. Pablo says maybe if she isn’t so angry at don Jorge, she will start to feel better. She tells Pablo that he makes her feel better and that is why she likes to be with him. The feeling is mutual. He tells her she is pretty. Lili checks that nobody is watching them and they take a step back into the foliage to kiss.

Samuel is knocking on his bedroom door for Baldo to let him in. (Baldo doesn’t want to be bothered by him or his father. Samuel tells him that their father had to go to Logatoys for some sort of emergency, so will he just open up the door? They keep yelling back and forth with Baldo telling him that he and his sister could have ended up in the juvenile court system. Samuel keeps knocking. Baldo just wants to be left in peace. Baldo looks at a photo of him and a girl/his mother? that he keeps in his pocket) He then grabs Samuel’s laptop from where it is always hidden. When Baldo opens it, it is at the Blue Shark site and immediately he knows that Samuel is hurting himself with Blue Shark challenges. He looks worried.

At Logatoys, Falcón is upset because he doesn’t know where Mauricio is. Jorge says he doesn’t know either but it is Falcón’s problem. Falcón does not agree saying it is Jorge’s problem and if he wants to keep working there he needs to find Mauricio right now. Jorge tries to explain but Falcón will not listen. He wants to talk to either Mauricio or Falcón not one of the second-rate employees. Gladys just looks on.

Finally Baldo tells Samuel he can come into his room. As soon as Samuel comes in, Baldo confronts him with his laptop about the Blue Shark site and accuses him of being involved in it and hurting himself. Samuel tries to grab the laptop telling him it is none of his business. Baldo will not give it up and asks him if he is so stupid to actually injure himself. He knows the challenges of this game. Samuel is almost hysterical as he tries to grab the laptop. He finally explodes. He wants him, his father, his sister, Lili everybody to just let him alone. He has had it with all of them. Baldo tries to calm him down with no effect. Samuel continues: Baldo took his room away from him. Everyone treats him like a loser. They scold him and punish him for everything. Samuel finally grabs his laptop and is ready to rush out but Baldo stops him saying that he only wanted to help him. Samuel makes it clear he wants nothing from Baldo or anybody. He tells Baldo to just get out of his room. Baldo finally leaves and Samuel closes and locks the door.

Back outside, Pablo is asking Lili if there is a possibility for something between them. She says she cannot tell anyone about ”them” because of how things are at home especially with her father. She does not see Baldo coming out of the house. Pablo does not want their relationship to be hidden. She says it will only be for a little while as they see how things go between them. Baldo sees them talking and comes over to break it up.

At the hospital Mauricio and Anifer get good news for the doctor that Anifer is going to be as good as new. That being said, the doctor wants Anifer to stay the night for observation but she should be able to go home tomorrow. Anifer’s blood type comes up. She is O negative. Mauricio is AB positive so it must be her mother who had the O negative blood. The doctor says it would be a really good idea to line up some O negative donors just in case some time in the future Anifer needs a transfusion. Renée agrees to stay at Mauricio’s for awhile until Anifer is feeling better.

Mauricio gets a phone call from Jorge telling him all about Falcón having been looking for him all day and wanting him at Logatoys ASAP. Mauricio tells him he has been at the hospital with Anifer and he will not be into work until tomorrow. He explains to Renée that in the ranking of priorities, his daughter comes first.

Lili gets in front of Pablo and in Baldo’s face and tells him to butt out because she was just talking to Pablo about him wanting to cross the border to find his father. Baldo doesn’t care. He wants to talk to her about why she took Jorge’s side and threw him under the bus at the police station. Pablo tells him that accusing Jorge of something he did not do is really bad. Lili tells Baldo that she agrees with Pablo and that is why she decided to tell the judge the truth. Baldo now blames Pablo for changing Lili’s mind. He tells Pablo to go back to the cornfield that he came from and to stop messing things up for everybody. Pablo gives him a little shove and Lili pushes them apart. Pablo says Baldo is not going to offend him by calling him an Indian because he is an honorable person and if Baldo is all pissed off he needs to get rid of his anger without hurting anyone. Baldo drags Lili away by her arm while Pablo retains his composure.

In Anifer’s room, Mauricio is playing food games with Anifer. He asks her if there is a wish he can grant for her. She would like some “taquitos al pastor”. When she finds out that she will be spending the night at the hospital, she asks if she is going to be left all alone. Mauricio says he is not a bad father, he will be spending the night with her. Anifer asks about him marrying Kika and is relieved to hear Mauricio tell her that he and Kika will not be getting married. She then asks if Renée is going to live with them forever. Mauricio is left speechless.

At Logatoys, Falcón is entering the conference room with the board members and asks Jorge if he found out something about Mauricio. Jorge tells him that Mauricio will not be able to come to work until tomorrow because his daughter had an accident. Falcón remarks that Mauricio always has more important at things to attend to. Jorge does not see it like that. It isn’t about things. His daughter had an accident and logically we all do what we can for our children in this life, right? Falcón is angry and does not care. He stomps away.

Mauricio and Renée are talking in the waiting area. She is telling him that not marrying Kika is one thing but she cannot see him not seeing her again. They are going to continue being “novios”, right? Mauricio says that technically it was the engagement that was broken and the rest of it is another story. He asks Renée if she has found a place to live yet. She tells him no. He tells her that she looks tired and to go home and sleep and he will stay with Anifer. She would never sleep at home so she will stay with them. They joke about sleeping together. They end up sitting back to back with each using the other’s head as a support like a pillow. Mauricio offers René his shoulder.

Anifer dreams about having a good time playing with her dad and singing him a special song just for him.

At Toño’s, it is breakfast time and he is getting ready to feed the kids. Verónica comes in and Toño sarcastically introduces her and the kids because she is never around. She greets the kids with smiles and hugs. He asks her to talk to him in another room. He asks about him not hearing her come in last night. Did she come in on tip-toe, hiding, or what? She says he was sleeping like the dead and she did not want to wake him up. Did he tell the kids about her trip yet? He shakes his head. She says she will tell them. She goes and tells the kids about her trip to Guadalajara and returns. Toño is one unhappy camper. She tells Toño that the two of them have to talk. Her phone rings. She answers. It is work. She will be there in twenty minutes. She is smiling and laughing. When she says goodbye to Tońo, neither of them is smiling. She happily says goodbye to her children. Toño is left seething.

Jorge is trying to get all four kids out to the SUV to take them to school as he stands at the curb. Baldo sees Lili looking around as she comes out and accuses her of looking for that idiot Pablo. She tells him to get off her case. They get in the vehicle with Samuel and Valentina. Jorge sees Kika arriving driven by her chauffeur and tells her that Mauricio is not at home. She does not look happy.

Toño takes his kids to school and once there he announcews everything he did to get them there like feeding them, etc. as he walks them to the entrance. He runs into Leo's mother Yola who asks him if he talked to his wife. Did she forgive him? She isn’t busy right now. They could go and get a coffee and he can tell her everything. She grabs him by the arm and he goes right along.

In the waiting area, Mauricio and Renèe are asleep still seated sort of back to back but their heads are now next to each other resting on the other’s shoulder. Their faces are toughing. Renée wakes up first, keeps her head next to Mauricio and wakes him up. He laughs saying that they ended up sleeping together. She smiles and giggles. The mood is broken when Kika arrives shouting out Mauricio’s full name. She wants to know what he is doing with the maid.

Nerón comes home dragging himself though the door. He is clearly exhausted and calls out for his “old lady” announcing that he has arrived. Flor shushes him saying Milady just fell asleep. He grabs her and she looks happy. They are going to have their own kind of breakfast. In the following scene it doesn’t look like their romantic rendezvous was a success as Nerón is left staring at the ceiling and Flor looking concerned. She tells him not to get upset because things like that happen. She blames it on him being tired, a lack of sleep, the smog. He mumbles that it never failed him before. She tells him not to worry. It is better that he rest. He should not hurt himself. He is on the old side. . . Nerón does not want to hear about age. No way. He is off to the gym for a real workout and then to the steam room.

Kika tells Mauricio and Renée that this is just like a typical Mexican telenovela where the maid is with the boss. Renée says it is like a typical Venezuelan telenovela with a dramatic neurotic female villain making problems for no good reason. Mauricio tells Kika that this is not the pllace or time. She understands but calls Renée a “dead fly” (a duplicitous, manipulative woman) who is getting in her way. Mauricio tries to quiet it down. Lucky for Mauricio a nurse appears to tell him that Anifer is awake and it is time to start the discharge process. Mauricio excuses himself to go see his daughter. Renée goes to take care of the paperwork and Kika is left alone.

Toño with his new found mom pal Yola is drinking coffee and is listening to her tell him not to not take his situation to heart because all marriages go through these kinds of crises. Toño just shakes his head. She then laughs and says look at her: a divorced woman talking about couples in crisis. Toño is curious why she got divorced. She says it is difficult but she will tell him. She does not know exactly when things started to go down hill but she really din't notice anything until her husband was cheating on her with a co-worker. That was when she realized there was nothing left to fix. Toño asks why she didn’t fight for her relationship, try therapy. She answers that it didn’t matter. He spent more time with the co-worker than with her. These are things that happen to half of the population and you never think it is going to happen to you until it does.

Nerón is at the gym still upset. His trainer tries to calm him down. Nerón sees a guy doing pull-ups and remarks about how good he looks. His trainer tells him it is one of the advantages of youth. His trainer tells him not to get distracted and to stick to his routine. Nerón is busy doing squats and stops to look at a tv screen where there is an ad for a proven product that might help him in the sex department: Virile Power pills. He is transfixed by the ad.

Toño tells Yola that he has to go because he has a lot of things he has to get done before the kids get out. She asks if with his wife traveling so much if he is officially the house-husband and in charge of the kids. She thought it was supposed to be just temporary. She tells him that no man should be embarrassed by having to take care of his home. Toño says that she shouldn’t worry about him. He isn't too crazy about it but it just happened. He doesn’t know for how much time he will be a house-husband. He asks that she not tell the other mothers so they do not think he is a henpecked. She promises not to tell a soul. She says even although it was a joke, she admires him for doing what he does for his family. She reaches out and puts her hand on his. Toño is uncomfortable. He pulls his hand back, says he has to go, and thanks her for her advice. He insists on paying. He may be a house-husband but he is a gentleman. He leaves.

Jorge goes to see the principal of the school. He isn’t going to take a lot of time but stumbles around stating why he is there with his usual "yes/no" schtick (it is getting old and is not funny anymore) Jorge is unable to make a coherent sentence. He finally spits out that the issue is that the school is more liberal than he is and he is questioning how they control their students. He asks that they have more exhaustive and excessive control and more discipline with his children especially with his twins. The principal explains to him that yes they are liberal as he described them but here at school they have discipline and rigor always taking into account the students' human dignity and freedom. She does not understand what he is talking about. Jorge ends up saying that he needs them to exercise more control over his children. They need more severe punishments. He is giving her permission to punish them strongly. The principal looks more than uncomfortable. Jorge goes on to say that his son Baldo is one of those people who you have to keep on a short leash. She thanks him but says that that is not their style. She wants to know what is going on with Baldo that he needs such medieval methods to educate his son.

Mauricio comes into Anifer’s room to get her ready to go home. She is not too happy having to exit in a wheel chair. Kika completes her disappointed mood when she bursts into the room with a bouquet for Anifer. She tries to make small talk with a sullen Kika but it does not get very far. Kika wants to help her but Kika says no, her dad will. Renée comes in to tell Mauricio they can leave as soon as he signs the papers. A sarcastic Kika has to remark how the maid just helps Mauricio with everything. When Kika goes on saying that Renée being more of a commander than an employee, there is no response from Renée. Kika asks if the cat has her tongue. Renée just says that she does not want to lower herself to Kika’s level. Anifer asks if Kika heard that. Mauricio tells Kika that if she feels like arguing with someone, argue with him. Mauricio and Anifer leave followed by Kika as Renée rolls her eyes.

At school, Lili asks a maintenance woman about a job for a guy she knows. She tells Lili that she needs to talk to an administrator. There is nothing to be lost by asking and since people do not last a long time working at the school, there is a good chance of getting a job there. Lili asks if there are a lot of requirements to work there. The maintenance worker just sort of shrugs.

Jorge is still trying to explain himself to the principal. The truth comes out when Jorge tells the principal that his son Baldo is uncontrollable; a rebel without a cause. The principal says that is how all adolescents are but is there anything else? Jorge explains that he is a very reserved person and does not like to discuss his personal business. He explains that they had an ugly confrontation in front of Baldo's friends. The principal says that she understands and asks if he has ever talked to Baldo about his feelings or what he likes. Jorge says no. For example, does he know what soccer team Baldo is for? What is his favorite brand? Jorge looks so uncomfortable it looks like he is ready to crawl out of his skin. Has he ever asked Baldo what he wants to be when he grows up? What will Baldo's vocation be? It is clear that Jorge knows nothing about Baldo. The principal tells him all he has to do is ask him to get some information. Talking with Baldo is the place to start and maybe he will find something that they both have in common and that might bring them closer.

Kika has Mauricio and Anifer wait for her in the hall as she goes back for her purse in Anifer’s room. Renée comes by and does a nice snide imitation of Kika and gets Mauricio laughing. Renée leaves with Anifer while Mauricio waits for Kika. He asks her what is going on with her offending people. She wants to know what he and the maid were doing embracing and just about to kiss. Mauricio inists that they were neither embracing or about to kiss. All that happened is that they slept here so as not to leave Anifer alone. Kika asks him what time is it. She herself answers that it is time to fire the maid or the nanny or whatever she is. Eventhough their wedding has been postpones they are still novios and they still love each other . . . As she is talking Mauricio is thinking back to that day he slapped Renée on the butt not knowing she was a woman. . . then how Renée ran into him with the microwave . . . and on and on to the kiss and waking up together in the hospital. He is smiling as Kika is still rambling on about what happened in Miami staying in Miami and about it all being just a misunderstanding. He finally stops Kika and asks her not to take this the wrong way but perhaps it would be better if they ended their relationship all together. Needless to say, Kika is shocked and not very happy.

I included parts of scenes from the original broadcast in parentheses.

Another good episode. Things are moving right along.

Tonight Nerón just made me laugh. Poor old guy. How long can he last with no sleep or rest?

Finally, it looks, like Kika is on the outs.

More mañana!

Thank You thank yoooo Jarifa. A funny episode, even funnier when you tell it.
Wait what? This bitch has no claim against Mauricio now. Daddy lied about her cause for revenge and Mau has already broken up with her and told her to keep her moolah.

If Kika could get through one entire sentence without accentuating every other word with a booty shake or wiggle she might be tolerable.

I didn't realize that Vero came home that late, or early the next morning. Things sure look precarious for those two.

Whew. Tono. It's there if you are interested. Smartest thing I have seen him do so far. Paid for their coffee and ran.
That little Muah ! sort-of kiss hello, the hand on the shoulder, and then hand on his at the table.

Dam, Ole Jorge is wound tighter than a 8 day clock. He must have made all them babies before he stopped drinking.

Well, they have covered almost every issue now going so far as ED and pecker pills. Sheezo, is nothing sacred? I mean, even the best dog has a bad day. Woof.

Thanks Again Jarifa. NIce work.

Hasta Manana Tambien

Jarifa - Thank you for your recap!

Anifer's blood type ..... it would not have been mentioned if it won't be important later.

Baldo going postal on Pablo ...... the fruit did not fall far from the tree, eh?

Vero's new hair ..... Debbie Harry lookalike.

Mau & Renee ..... falling, falling, falling in love.

Kika won't take "no" for an answer, will she? Mau, hide the pet bunny rabbit. Now.

Doris I thought the same about the blood type. This show loves tidbits.
KikedToTheKirb should tuck her curvy tail between her curvy legs and take her curvy ass back to where-curvy-ever and make some more money on BoobTube telling people how wonderful she is. I give her credit for noticing mid-sabotage how wonderful Mauricio is, but she dropped the ball on Anifer. Like trying to buy milk without the container. It can be done, but takes more work than Kick'er can muster.

So, are they hoodwinking us with Scruffy and Veronica? He has a way past cute Milf chasing him at his kids school. Veronica's job suddenly has her traveling a lot and working late, suspiciously late. Her new hair has her looking like a sexy Debbie Harry, good one Doris. A known skirt chaser is her boss's son...In most instances the only way she is faithful is if Togo Saran Wraps her every time she leaves the house like one of the kid's lunches.

Next: I was sooo hopeoing that as Lil has mentioned that Pablo should get back into school, that he is still a minor and would beat Baldo like a rented mule out by the trysting swings. Fruit? Tree? Thank you Doris. Balldo just seems to be going around spoiling for a fight. At his age it is usually not too hard to find, especially among your schoolmates. He doesn't look to go into the triple digits weight wise. A muscular little cheerleader could whip his arse, much less ole Pablo, who looks at first glance to be fairly well put together.

I was encouraged for a brief moment when Baldo discovered the blue shark mutilation web site, and knew right away what was going on. He even acted like the big half brother he is in trying to talk to Sammy about it. At least he tried.

Dammit ! I hope they forget about that blood type like that shoe box which is apparently buried down at the Logatoys warehouse or in a U-Haul storage locker.

So let me get this straight. Falcon appears intent on something underhanded concerning Mauricio and Logatoys. Then the machine catches fire, and there is a production line malfunction and he is at wits end looking for Mau who is at the hospital with his daughter. Then we see Falcon's mysterious associate Juan Perez walking around in the plant with him. Let's say Mau did manage to tear himself away and run over to Logatoys, wouldn't he recognize Juan Perez and smell a rat? Like "How do YOU TWO know each other, and how did you know about Maria, and what are you doing here?"

Thank you, Jarifa

According to the internet, a parent with AB blood type cannot have a child with O blood type.

A joy Jarifa.

"sweaty sweats" and "He makes Ernesto look him in the eyes to check the veracity of his statement" were among many favorites.

I could watch Mau and Anifer all day long. I could watch Renee and Mau all day long. Simply great.

“As Kika continues, her sister concludes she will be the one crying having to listen to her”. But unfortunately (for you), you ARE her sister and you do have to listen. Fortunately for us – we do not.

“Pablo cannot get into it because he would not care if his father were a pain, strict or a bore. What he would give to see him again!” Ahhh, heartache.

Baldo has said or done nothing to endear him to me. However, I hope that his finding Sam’s “Blue Shark” (just the name sounds painful) makes him tell his father.

Thanks Yola for filling Tono’s head full of suspicion. She is too grabby for me. I was glad that Tono removed his hand from hers, paid the bill and split. “He may be a house-husband but he is a gentleman” was perfect.

“Anifer’s blood type comes up. She is O negative. Mauricio is AB positive so it must be her mother who had the O negative blood”. Hmmm, is this significant? OK, amending this – just read the comments. Uh oh.

Jarifa, I thought the picture was of Baldo’s mother. Guess I was wrong.

“Dam, Ole Jorge is wound tighter than a 8 day clock. He must have made all them babies before he stopped drinking”. Wow, nailed it Kirby.

Bye Kika. Bye.

Jarifa, thank you! Great, great fun...

Diana

Kirby, the mysteries just do keep adding up. That pesky shoebox has to show up sometime, right?

Lucio, now that would mean that Mauricio is not Anifer’s father. Hmmmm . . .

Diana, the photo could very well have been of Baldo’s mother. I confess to sometimes listening more closely than watching. : )

I do admit that I enjoyed Baldo the Brat being physically (and morally) smaller than Pablo.

Diana, Jarifa, I assumed that picture was him and his Mom. I thought it resembled the same hair, anyway, from the other pic we have seen of the four of them.

After Baldo saw the blue shark site, and confronted Sammy about it did he not have a epiphany? His big mouth and the boys having their panties all twisted up almost got all four kids new living arrangements. Did he not put two and two together and admit at least to himself, that Jorge has not been injuring Sammy? He has just returned from the police station where if things had gone wrong longer, they could be in a helluva predicament.

And not that Jorge deserves me on his defense team, but I'd remind the canTankerous Twins, it takes two to tango. May Mom's soul rest in peace, but she had to know Jorge was involved with someone else. These two girls had to know about each other. Jorge does not look to be a real prize, but then I haven't gotten a good look at his shoe size.

Thank you, Jarifa, for another great retelling. This tn is moving right along.

There must be something about putting your hand on someone's hand. In OUtlander, Jamie and his prison warden Lord John are playing a friendly game of chess, but when John puts his hand on Jamie's hand, Jamie says, " Take your hand off me, or...I will kill you !" Tonto did not have quite do violent a reaction but he did look uncomfortable . Vero definitely seems to be going through an identity crisis as she spends more time at work and less time at home with her family. Is this a cautionary tale for working women?

from the start, I did not think that Maury was Ani's biological father. However , they are bonding ,and she has made him want to be a better man. she is the child of his heart if not his Not O type blood.

Maury and Renee sitting back to back and head to head was so much sexier than Kika rubbing all over his front.

Jarifa: "Cheese stands alone" ROFLOLZ.

And what happened to that big loan Falcon had Mauricio sign up for the other day? When does that have to be paid back? Installments or one lump?

What happened with Mau faking those papers having to do with Renee's school?

Is Logatoys really paying for all that for her?

Does Kika's Mom even know her true hair color?

I bet the drapes don't match the carpet.

Is Sebastian rubbing off on Veronica? She was very nonchalant when she showed up the next day to speak to Tono. And seriously answering her cellphone while speaking to Tono about her new work trip? She couldn’t call back Sebastian after?

I can understand Tono’s worry about the possibility that Veronica may be cheating, especially with that divorced lady putting ideas into his head. She really made him think when she said it was over with her husband when he wasn’t around the house anymore. I don’t think Veronica is cheating, but she’s slowly distancing herself from her family. It’s obvious her priority is her career. Where does a working mother draw the line between family and work? She goes on these work trips as if she’s no strings attached, like her actions aren’t affecting anyone. Doesn’t ask for anyone’s opinion, it’s like Tono’s being downgraded to babysitter. If these work trips and staying late at work become constant, her kids could grow up to resent her.

Maia

Good Morning!

Jarifa, thanks for your excellent recap...great as always. I too laughed about Neron, but poor guy, he is just trying too hard and not getting there. Flor was very understanding, but I just can;t get used to the way she talks. She sounds like a ditz, but can come up with some very smart ideas and responses.

Kirby, "KikedToTheKirb" good one! But she has so much padding that it probably won't hurt too much and she is going to try, try again...or make trouble for Renee. And "So, are they hoodwinking us with Scruffy and Veronica?" They might be; everything you stated points to a demise in their relationship. The question is: will they survive?

Doris, "Baldo going postal on Pablo ...... the fruit did not fall far from the tree, eh?" It sure doesn't...now all Baldo has to do is start stuttering.

Lucio thanks for confirming my suspicions. I thought I remembered that about AB types was wasn't sure. So Fabina DID give Mau false results on the DNA test; so he now that just about confirms that he has a key role in destroying Mau.

Kirby, when Mau runs back to Logatoys, I doubt that Perez will be around. I just wonder how Mau will manage to get out of this mess. Didn't Renee used to run that machine that caught fire? She seems to be a good engineer, so maybe Mau can get her to help figure out exactly what and how things happened.

Yola, the woman drinking coffee with Toño, looks very familiar.
Does anyone know who this actress is? What have we seen her in before?

Thanks, Jarifa.

Mau and Anifer love each other so they'll stay together no matter what, but why is her mom -- I'm sure she's alive -- letting, or being forced to let, this happen?

Neron, let's face it. You overreached hooking up with a much much younger, hot babe. So just relax and enjoy your good fortune, while you still can.

Baldo is a total jerk. Glad Pablo is proud of his roots and stood up to that dumb "Indian" crack. But how old is Pablo anyway?

Socks. I believe the gal Yola, who is interested in Tono is Andrea Portugal.

If she is who I think she is, she was Blanca in Mi mirido Tiene Famalia

Kirby, does Baldo honestly believe Jorge had intentionally hurt Samuel? I knew he was seething at the slap but I didn't realize that he thought Jorge did that on purpose (?) Ack.

doris and Niecie, I admire Pablo for keeping his cool. He could have made mincemeat out of Baldo...if he does nothing to help Samuel I'm done with him. I doubt he will talk to Jorge but maybe Rodrigo??

Susanlynn and Maia, I'm uncomfortable with what they are doing to Vero. She was kind, sweet and loving. Now she is drifting and distant...I understand her work is important but she would not have lost her focus on her dearly loved children so fast. Even tono, likely not the brightest bulb is seeing things clearly.

RgvChick, Mau seems concerned with nothing at work, does he? I couldn't believe he offered no explanations to work and will choose his own time to return. If only that were real life!!!

Welcome Socks. The actress looks a little bit familiar but I can't place her.

Diana

Kirby..I think that Blanca in Mi Marido was Diana Bracho.

Diana, I agree that the writers have really changed Vero's personality. Working and raising kids and keeping a marriage strong is not easy . Life has changed so much. My mother and mother-in-law never worked , so they were in charge of the house and the kids. Now, if both parents are working, the chores and family responsibilities have to be shared. Some couples decide that one parent should work full-time and one should stay home. that is what Hubbacand I did, but when our kids were 24 and 4 , I started working parttime. We made it work. I hope that the winter storm wasn't too severe for you. It moved away from us , so we only got a few inches and no wind...yay.

Neuron has been burning the candle at both ends ....something had to give!

I do not know what Flor is saying , but her manner of speaking bothers me as much as Kika's Venezuelan baby talk.

......no...not 24 ...2....at 24 our daughter was living in Manhatten!!!! Sorry..hurrying..multitasking and careless.

Diana when Baldo was talking to R&R right after the SLAP, Sammy's bruises came up and Baldo told them he was, I forget, I think t was suspicious at least.

With all these families we are seeing the fringes of real life, as none of what we see is impossible, though not common. I think Vero is representative of real life. I don't have enough fingers and toes to count the number of times I have seen Veros and Tonos in real life. In modern life, the grace period has become pretty darn short for many people. If things are not working, popular psychology tells us, look elsewhere, to hell with others, the only person who is really important is YOU. Not that that is my life view.

I think if Vero were not so trusting and thus had caught on to more of Tono's lies and other dishonesty, she would be closer to walking. I do not believe the average modern woman becomes intoxicated with a bit of freedom and power as they are showing Vero. If they are insinuating she might be interested in Sebastian, be careful what you wish for, that would be like the frying pan into the fire.

Kirby, thank you!
Yes, the young Blanca.

Kirby and Socks, the actress who plays Yolanda is actually Cynthia Alesco, Mark Tacher current squeeze. She's come out on three TNs for Televisa, but I can't find which ones.

Susy you are right. IMDB has it messed up. That Blanca was Diana Bracho.

Jarifa, thanks for this great recap! A lot of fun to read.

I don't know what I think about Anifer's blood type. There was always the possibility that she was not Mau's biological daughter, but...

I wonder what Fabian's blood type is? :-)

Does Fabian need to be in on the deception? He could have been given a forged autopsy report, but a faked DNA test confirming Mau's paternity as well? Looks bad for bro Fab. Even if so, we still don't have a motive.

I hope Baldo does act responsibly, for a change, and talks with Sammy and/or Jorge about the Blue Shark thing. I don't know whose picture he had, whether it was with Yuriria or with a girlfriend. If a girlfriend, it would explain why he so wants to get back to TJ. But it would be nice if it was of him and his mother. Poor Yuriria seems to be all but forgotten.

Thank you Jarifa for filling in so many details!

Looks like Jorge may have found someone to help him, finally. School principals are often adept at giving advice to parents who want to listen. But, I'd be amazed if he actually follows her advice since he doesn't know how to hear anything that doesn't fit into one of the little crevices in his brain. Maybe her outfit caught his attention though, it looked like a bathing suit top covered by a scarf!

LLinda

Baldo didn’t really suspect Jorge of anything, he didn’t even notice Sammy’s bruises until Rodrigo asked him about it. He went along with Rodrigo’s suspicions to get Jorge in jail.

Poor Sammy though. The twins’ arrival did come at an unfortunate time for him and Valentina. The mother abandons them, the twins arrive to live in their home, they lose the privacy of their rooms to the twins, and to top it off the twins displaced them from their school too. Along with puberty, he’s holding in a lot of anger.

Baldo needs to find help for Sammy. Everyone could be at risk in that house.

Maia

Excellent recap, Jarifa! Sorry I've been absent for a while. 2 words: Personnel Committee. I'm glad other people noticed the blood type discrepancy which means that Mauricio could not possibly be Anifer's biological father. My husband is AB positive and I am O negative. One of our children is B negative and the other A positive (both of which would be a normal outcome for the combination). Or as my younger daughter said as a child: Gee, Joanna, I'm an A+ and you're only a B-. :)

Oh it breaks my heart that Mau isn't Anifer's father! Fab did the dna test so he must be in on some scheme regarding Ani.

Loved the principal asking Jorge questions about Baldo that he couldn't answer. Does he know anything about any of his kids? No. He takes no personal interest in any of them. Not one ounce of affection towards them either. And I hated when he told Val and Lili to go make food--because they are girls that is their responsibility. Baldo gets let off and Sam can do his homework. Ugh Jorge!

Tono seems to be finally doing well with the house and kids. Vero working so late and only seeing the kids in the morning is going to wear thin for all of them.

SpanProf, so nice to see you!

Kirby and Maia, thank you for the information. I think it is difficult, particularly for teenagers to be able to see beyond themselves when they are hurting. I am becoming more afraid for Samuel every day. We haven't really been privvy to what he has had to endure so his anguish might well be unbearable. For a usually outwardly calm child, he is now frayed on the edges.

Andy, I would think neither Baldo nor Lili have forgotten their anger (at least I hope not?) It is fueling Baldo's anger at his father. Lili seems to be acquiring a conscience, thanks to Pablo. Externally, she seems to be handling things better.

Carvivlie and LLinda, yes, it was good seeing Jorge on the hot seat. He is complicated...(trying to be nice).

thanks for the info RgvChick.

Susanlynn, yes, life seems to be getting more challenging, especially for those who have no choice but to work long hours away from home. I am in awe of those who are able to balance and make it work. Today was tough, another huge storm through the night - the second in less than a week. Oh and more on the way Sunday. Is it June yet??

Jarifa, I loved the title. Don't think I mentioned that earlier.

Diana

Andy, meant to say "I would think neither Baldo nor Lii have forgotten their mother.

Baldo cetainly hasn't ditched his anger :)

Diana

I really hope that Pablo finds his father and he is this big businessman that helps lift Pablo up.

I wonder if Pablo could register at school because he is illegal. I am anxious to see how his storyline plays out.

Steve, Diana, glad you liked the title. I figured that we had a whole group of cheeses standing alone here: Kika, Toño, Baldo, Jorge and Nerón.

Andy, Oooooo . . . You are dragging Fabián into the paternity mix. Could be!

LLinda, yes, the principal’s outfit was original to say the least . . . : )

Maia, it would be nice like a miracle if Baldo could save Samuel and I’m the process save himself.

Good to see you are back, SpanProf! Committees sure can eat up time.

doris, yes, Verónica’s hair is very much Debbie Harry with the roots and all.

Susanlynn, ITA that Kika is not as sexy as she thinks she is. BTW! How much snow did you end up with?

Niecie, Pablo’s age has never been mentioned. He looks like about 18 to me but then I am not very good at ages. When she was talking to the maintenance woman, Lili said that he was her age but what does she know???? Right????

Carvivlie, Pablo having a gilded future with his father would be a welcome surprise.

"Is Sebastian rubbing off on Veronica?" Either that or rubbing ON Veronica. 😳

"In modern life, the grace period has become pretty darn short for many people. If things are not working, popular psychology tells us, look elsewhere, to hell with others, the only person who is really important is YOU. ".
Kirby - Spot on, and that fits right in with the current info out there that the younger generations, as well as our society in general, are narcissistic. Heaven forbid anyone take responsibility for their own problems. (Lots of people actually do, but they are the minority). My generation said "work it out" re: marital problems and divorce was a last resort. Not so much, anymore.

RgvChick, ITA that it would be great if Renée could help fix the mess at the factory or even decipher what happened to cause it. Is there such a hint as “forensic engineering”. Too funny.

Kirby and Doris...too true . I have four close friends whom I taught with . Only one is divorced. However, out of our children(2 each), 4 have divorced..two of the girls divorced twice. One of the boys is a widower who remarried about two years after his wife died. I must say that two were dealing with spouses with addictions to drugs and alcohol. Life, indeed, has gotten complicated.

Chickie and Jarifa...I am sure that super engineer Renee will figure out what went wrong. Girl has STEM skills.

Thank you Jarifa, you always do a great job. I always appreciate the original scenes being included.

If Anifer isn't Mau's daughter, she will certainly be broken hearted. That is a horrible thing to do to a child. If Fabian orchestrated this, he should get the death penalty (TN style). Poor Anifer if this is true and she is not Mau's blood child. If Maria is no longer alive, then Mau is all she has.

Baldo needs therapy to get rid of his anger.

So Falcon sabotaged the factory's machines? He needs the death penalty too, TN style.

Cynthia (not signed in to google)

Cynthia, "death penalty TN style": what a hoot!
