Papa a Toda Madre #78 5.8.2018: Cloudy With a Chance of Ex-Wife

Or How To Lie, Lie, Lie like the Rest of Them

At Logatoys, Fabian has another meeting with his cohorts but finds that the second round of focus groups were as terrible as the first. Fabian demands Falcon bring a new batch of kids to Logatoys, so they can try out his “near perfect” robot and he’d better hope the tests come out positive this time.

Renee talks with Rafael at home. She understands that he wants to adopt but she also understands that Rodrigo would have a hard time coming out of the closet at work. Rafael is starting to doubt Rodrigo was the ideal man if that’s the case and Renee assumes they are fighting because Rodrigo slept on the couch. Renee tells them that not everything is the end of the world and they should work out it. Rafael agrees and Renee smiles before leaving to figure out what she can do to save Noel. Rafael asks her to be careful and she goes as Rodrigo comes into the living room and, very dejected, asks Rafael to help him evaluate their relationship because they must decide if they want to be together. Rafael doesn’t answer him, and Rodrigo walks away.

At Logatoys, Falcon and Fabian look on as a new batch of kids play with the robot. They seem to be having fun but, as soon as they begin to rough up the robot, Fabian goes crazy and tries to take it away from the kids. Falcon drags him out of the room and reminds him that they need to let the kids play or they will never know how to fix the toys. Fabian can’t believe those “monsters” will help them and suggests they find someone thoughtful and kind, that will give them real answers. Falcon suggests Noel, since he began the design, but Fabian has someone else in mind and smiles.

Rafael chases Rodrigo outside and chides him for always being the best police officer ever but not defending his family or their relationship. Rodrigo doesn’t want to talk about it now and drives off as Rafael screams after him. Rafael then notices Jorge observing their fight and wonders if he enjoyed the show. Jorge shakes his head as Rafael tells him that he won’t have to see the “gays” anymore pretty soon and that homophobia always win. He then walks away but Jorge does not look happy, in fact, he probably looks disappointed that another relationship may be imploding in the cul-de-sac.

At school, Valentina waits for “Danny” to facetime with her but he blows her off again. “Danny” apologizes but explains that his family is very nosy and doesn’t want to ruin what they have with their gossip. Valentina prefers they stop talking then, as he doesn’t seem interested, but “Danny” suggests they meet in person, so she knows he’s serious. Valentina smiles and considers this.

Jorge is at home when he receives a call from Dulce, all clad in a head scarf, begging Jorge for his help because it is a matter of life and death. Jorge is floored.

Fabian meets with the principal at Anifer’s school and discusses the possibility of having some of the kids at her school trying out his toys. He would donate them, and the kids would let them know what he can do to improve the design. The principal is more than willing to accept, though she would discuss it with her team first, and Fabian nods. He does let her know that, despite his toys being geared to both sexes, the opinion of a girl, of about 7 to 9 years and very intelligent, would be exactly what he’s looking for. He asks if she has someone in mind and the principal thinks this over.

In the school auditorium, Mauricio sits down with the kids to go over the play, but they don’t seem excited at all. Anifer raises her hand and asks her father to let them talk because, despite the fact that they’re kids, they have very valuable opinions. Mauricio slightly nods.

Jorge demands to know what she wants, especially after she left him with their kids and never looked back, but she begs him to please loan her some money, so she could escape the country with Isauro. Jorge can’t believe she’s asking for money to evade justice, but Dulce explains that the Isauro’s accounts are all frozen and the bail she set for him can expire at any moment. She reiterates that she must leave the US at once, but Jorge doesn’t want to hear another word about it. She warns him that their children will never forgive him if he lets the mother of his children die and hangs up as Lili walks in. She asks if he’s mad, but Jorge shakes his head and she continues slicing vegetables.

Fabian tells the principal about his Logatoys company and the principal wonders if it’s not the same one Mauricio Lopez Garza owned. Fabian makes it clear that he is now the owner because Mauricio mismanaged the company and the principal nods. Fabian hopes that this information doesn’t change her view on his toys, but the principal shakes her head and suggests they do the tests at the school. Fabian is more than happy to accept, and the principal suggests they use the play Mauricio is directing right now as a way to test the toys. Fabian smiles wide and laughs because they are connected.

Mauricio turns on the camera in his iPad and films Ernesto’s testimonial about how much he loves soccer and how everyone in his house loves it accept for his mother. Mauricio suggests they play recorded videos of all the kids during the play and the kids cheer. He then asks the kids to get ready to film their testimonial and asks Ernesto to get everyone ready. He obliges as Mauricio readies the camera again.

Renee goes to Logatoys and catches up with Gladys, who confesses that Fabian is the worse boss she’s had, despite the fact that Mauricio wasn’t any better but a lot nicer. Renee nods and smiles but Gladys is not convinced that she came just to catch up with her. Renee reiterates that she did but asks if Fabian has any other address on file since they last spoke. Gladys looks at her sideways but then smiles slightly.

Dulce arrives at her hideout with Isauro and tells him that she’s been looking for options, so they can leave Mexico while he sits at the computer all day. Isauro tells her that he is looking for options, but Dulce is doubtful.

Jorge sits with Lili and asks if she has anymore news about Pablo. Lili explains that he hasn’t called her or told her anything new and Jorge puts his hand on hers and tells her that he laments all Pablo’s going through. Lili is still sure that Pablo will find her father, but Jorge reminds her that, sometimes, what you plan and what happens aren’t the same thing. Jorge then assures her that things still may work out and Lili wonders about how big Pablo’s love for his father is, enough for him to cross the border in search of him. Jorge nods and Lili goes to finish her novela.

At the US restaurant, Pablo talks with his coworker, Juancho, and asks him about his father. Juancho tells him that he was very quiet but worked a lot to send his family money though he suspected that was in very weird things. Pablo hopes to find him soon, so he can explain, and Juancho is sure he will but not sure when that will be. After a moment, he urges Pablo to get back to work.

Renee fills Gladys in on her house debacle but Gladys doesn’t know how anything at Logatoys would help her. Renee assures her that any little bit helps, despite how little she thinks it will, but Gladys doubts it. Renee urges to help her because she needs her and her fighting spirit. Gladys smiles and considers this as Kika walks in, disgusted to see Renee. Renee hates to see Kika too and the two square off as Gladys watches.

Anifer records her video for Mauricio as well and tells everyone that she wants to be a princess because they are pretty and wear a crown. She then tries to tell everyone about corporate hamburgers and Mauricio stops her. The kids want to know more but Mauricio insists that Anifer has just been influenced by her mother’s weird ideas. After a second, he asks the kids about other things they like but their conversation is cut short by the recess bell. Mauricio admits that he almost had a good time with them today and they have a lot of interesting things to say, like their teacher told him. The kids all give him a 10-person bear hug as Mauricio smiles.

Kika explains that she has nothing to talk to Renee about and Renee insists that she and Fabian are two poisonous creatures that are perfect for each other. Kika reminds her that business is business, but Renee reminds Kika that she loves to do business in bed a little too much. Kika doesn’t can’t care about what a maid tells her, but Renee thinks that she only uses money to buy people who can be bought. Kika thinks Renee doesn’t know about money because she barely has two dimes to rub together and then demands someone attend to her. Gladys tells her that no one is in to help her but then tells Renee that she will help her soon enough. Kika wants to know what she’s going to help Renee with, but Renee demands she mind her business and leave the same way she slithered inside. Gladys declares that, after 10 rounds, Renee is the winner 7 to 3. Kika looks at Gladys, willing her eyes to melt the poor secretary’s face off.

In the office, Veronica sits with Tono and begins to kiss him, because he looks sad, but Tono reminds her that he loves her in red and begins to kiss her deeply. Veronica stops him and reminds him that they are at work but Tono wants to have her right now. They continue to kiss and Tono asks if she would want another baby. Veronica understands that he’s sad but can’t believe he wants to have another kid. Tono reminds him that their children will grow up and leave, like he did, and he would like to have another baby, just in case. Veronica reminds him that he’s a great father and his own father was just from another generation. Tono smiles and asks her to show him how much she appreciates him. Veronica smiles too and obliges.

Mauricio meets with the principal in her office and tells her about how great it went with the kids today. He then confesses that he is creating a new toy company and wanted to know if he can test some of their products on the kids at school. She thinks it’s a great coincidence because she spoke with Fabian today as well and he offered his new toys to the kids too. Mauricio is shocked for sure.

After some more make out sessions, Veronica tells Tono that, on a scale from 1 to 10 in lovemaking he’s 14, as Adelina knocks and comes in and almost catches them. Tono and Veronica try their best to act nonchalant and Tono announces that he’s leaving to pick up his kids. Once alone with Veronica, Adelina tells her that Tono is the best father and Veronica agrees.

Mauricio tells the principal, with a very angry voice, that he has no problems with Fabian and has no issue with Fabian coming to his daughter’s school to try out his toys. He declares that “may the best toy company win!” and storms out without another word.

Renee meets with Ariel in a café to discuss to her case. Ariel thinks they should take things slow, because it could be worse to attack Fabian head on, but Renee is unsure. She can’t understand how her, and Fabian could be so different though, despite being siblings and then asks Ariel for another favor, despite the fact that she’s already asked him for a lot. He tells her to go right ahead and Renee asks for his help to find Noel Carvajal, but she doesn’t have a lot of information. Ariel tells her that he doesn’t need any more details, just knowing that it’s important to her is enough, and promises to help.

Mauricio meets with the other fathers and serves coffee while telling him what happened with Fabian. Jorge interrupts because he has news: a Chinese company is interested in their design. Mauricio begins to cheer and wonders if it’s the singing chicken, but Jorge reveals that the company is only interested in buying the father/daughter toy. Mauricio shakes his head and tells him no because that is the first toy that Anifer designed and it is their legacy. Jorge shrugs because they are at an impasse then.

In her suite, Kika worries that Renee will tell Jorge that she saw her at Logatoys but Charytin reminds her that Renee doesn’t know about her relationship with Jorge. Kika nods but worries that, when Jorge declares his love for her to the world, Renee will tell him something then. Charytin nods then and suggests Kika pray to all the saints, a lot, and tell Jorge to be quiet about their relationship or Renee risks blowing the gasket on the whole thing. Kika considers this.

Jorge tells Mauricio that selling the toy design will mean more capital for their business, so Mauricio asks Neron and Tono what they think. Tono thinks they need money, because they can’t live off plans their whole life, and Jorge reminds them that this is their only option as no other company is interested in any of their other designs. Neron agrees with Tono and Jorge but Mauricio asks them to wait until they launch their new design and see how it goes with the focus groups. Jorge reveals that the Chinese company only gave him 36 hours to decide though and Mauricio is shocked.

Adelina works on a resume for Veronica and she thanks her because she doesn’t have Tono in the afternoon. She almost slips by calling Tono’s kids hers but catches herself and thanks Adelina for her help but tells her she can do it by herself. Adelina nods and then asks if she heard about the new department that’s opening up in their company, at the same level as hers, and Veronica tells her she heard about it in passing. Adelina thinks it would be a great opportunity for Tono and Veronica couldn’t agree more as she thinks about the possibilities of having him close and yet very far away. She smiles to herself.

Everyone except Mauricio agrees to sell the father/daughter toy design to the company so Mauricio finally agrees too but only for three years because he wants their product back. Jorge promises to take care of everything as Maria comes in and asks to talk to Mauricio since it seems their meeting is over. Mauricio nods and Maria goes to Tono to give her condolences for his loss. He thanks her and then promises to look into a job for her at his company though Maria doesn’t think she will need it because she doesn’t know if she will stay in Mexico.

Sometime later, Mauricio hands Maria a coffee and tells her that a job at Tono’s company would be a good stop gap for the moment, even if it isn’t her thing. Maria nods but doubts the job will come through. Mauricio reminds her that she also has a job in his company but Maria wonders when that will happen as his company hasn’t launched and she hasn’t been invited to their meetings. She reminds him that they promised to keep Anifer in the dark about their breakup and Mauricio nods but asks her to consider his suggestion to accept work at Tono’s company, should it come up. Either way, Maria is disappointed that everyone is helping her because of Mauricio and not because of her but they can’t talk anymore as Anifer comes and asks for help with her homework. They oblige and do it all together.

That night, Veronica arrives home and find Tono serving their kids dinner. She gives Tono a kiss and then they both sit down to tell their children the news about their grandfather in the least traumatizing way possible. The kids have some questions about what happened but then Ernesto notes that his grandmother must feel horrible because she’s all alone now. Tono looks at his child and wonders what they would say about him, if he died tomorrow.

Jorge goes to visit Kika in her suite, but she doesn’t want to talk, only kiss. He obliges and then tells her that he hasn’t had time to tell anyone about their relationship but will soon. Kika doesn’t care now and thinks they have enough time to discuss that later and tell everyone. She does wonder if Mauricio said anything about it to Jorge, but Jorge explains that Mauricio has been very quiet on the issue. Kika is happy to hear it and then asks if Mauricio is still with Renee. Jorge wonders why she cares and Kika explains that she loves gossip, but Jorge doesn’t and reminds her that he promises her father to make their relationship public. In fact, he doesn’t understand why she doesn’t care now after she kept insisting they tell everyone. Kika thinks they should let the situation flow organically and suggests they go dine in a nice restaurant as a dry run. Jorge agrees it’s a great idea but then reveals that he has some news: he spoke with Dulce again. Kika is floored.

Valentina texts “Danny” and suggests they meet close to her house or school, because she can’t go far, but “Danny” suggests they go a little bit further, to a more romantic place. Valentina thinks his suggestions are too far and “Danny” suggests they met in a café close to her school later in the week. Valentina agrees, and they say good night.

Isauro looks at his texts with Valentina, frustrated by the whole situation, as Dulce comes out of the bathroom and complains about the conditions they live in. She can’t believe the irony of the situation: she left her family to be free and enjoy live but she’s hiding out like a rat. Isauro demands she be quiet because he’s working on a solution and leaves.

Jorge fills Kika in on what happened with Dulce and wonders how she could be so cruel because she didn’t even ask about her kids, just asked for money. Kika wonders if he feels anything for Dulce but Jorge shakes his head and admits that he just hates how many lies she told. Kika cringes as he goes on about how much he hates lies.

In bed, Tono asks Veronica how best to handle the situation with Esperanza, who’s all alone. Veronica thinks the best way to handle it is to remodel their current house with their bonus or buy a new house. Tono asks her to calm down and wonders if she would be okay with Esperanza living with them full time. Veronica reiterates that she loves her company, but they would have less privacy. Tono is okay with that and thinks their lovemaking at the office is better, because it’s exciting, though they agree their bed is the best place. After a couple of kisses, they find that Fidelito has cradled into their bed and welcome him into their bed. After a moment, Ernesto arrives, and they welcome him too before declaring their love for each other.

The next day, Renee talks with Rafael about Rodrigo, who arrived left last night and left early that morning. Rafael doesn’t know what to do, as Rodrigo is definitely avoiding him, but Renee thinks they must work through this crisis and come out stronger on the other side. Rafael can’t believe they are already fighting, without adding a kid to the mix, but Renee asks him to be patient. Rafael nods and then Renee takes her leave because she’s going to look for Noel. They say their goodbyes and she goes as Rafael sighs deeply.

Outside, Renee runs into Mauricio and Anifer and Anifer invites her to her play on Friday. Renee promises to go and gives her a kiss goodbye before walking to Ariel, who’s waiting by his car. Anifer screams that she can invite her boyfriend and Renee mumbles something as Mauricio reminds Anifer that they can’t be late. Renee hugs Ariel hello and he gives Anifer a high five. As Anifer walks away with Mauricio, she confesses that she loves Ariel because he’s very nice and good-looking. Mauricio mumbles something, grouchy.

Isauro calls someone and apologizes for not calling them yesterday but Dulce was being extra whiny, and she can’t suspect the truth at all. He then tells his partner that he will soon have Valentina in his grasp, so they can do whatever they want with her, and reminds them that he needs help getting out of Mexico.

In the gazebo, Mauricio tells Tono that Maria is thinking of leaving but they can’t allow that because she will take Anifer. Tono promises to try as hard as he can to get Maria some job and Mauricio thanks him because he can’t lose Anifer. Tono nods and then asks if Maria will continue living in his house because she will eventually want to move out and there is always the possibility that she will want to move out. Mauricio nods, slowly, considering what it would mean to be so far apart from Anifer…

Alfredo: Looks like Maria still up to no good!

Alfredo, thank you very much for this fine recap. You outdid yourself with this one.

OK, Dulce is back. I was expecting some reason why she has not contacted her kids but nothing so far.

I don't quite buy the Pablo searching for his father story, but a lot has somewhat gone downhill with TN lately, and I'm worried about Pablo, Flor, Anifer, HotRod, Val... just about everybody. Sheesh!

At least Vero and Toño are doing OK, though poor Toño should be bummed out for a while. I remember that Toño called his father recently but the man was really cold, not a very warm father at all. Not the sort that Toño is.

andy

Thank you, Alfredo, for yet another outstanding recap.

I had to laugh that Charytín told Kika she would have to not only pray to Babalú but also to Changó (another African deity).

So now we have a PSA on how easy human trafficking is, with Isauro willing to “sell” Valentina.

Gladys keeping score on the fight was the best.

I wonder how long María is going to stay. She sounds like she is ready to go home with Anifer at any time.

Jarifa: I do NOT trust Maria.

Thank you so much ,Alfredo, for that detailed recap.I loved the title.

I hate this storyline with creepy Isauro. Yuck. A new PSA about the dangers lurking online and human trafficing .

Later ...when I am awake.....where's the coffee???☕☕☕☕☕

Ah, the wonderful title! brought back many memories of reading Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs to my kids. You must be a dad or have lots of nieces and nephews Alfredo. Or gosh, no, maybe you're young enough that someone read that to you! I keep forgetting that I'm a lot older than others on the line.

"Kika looks at Gladys, willing her eyes to melt the poor secretary’s face off."

What a wonderful description of the scene. Haven't watched this yet, but will definitely look for that Kikalicious glare.

Dulce and her paramour are turning out to be even worse than I thought and the writers are certainly ramping up the horror in this alleged comedy. Etapa decisiva indeed!

Thanks so much Alfredo. You're the best.

Thanks Mr. AAA clever title indeed.
Dunce (with an L) Ugh.

Renee is beginning to resemble Ally McBeale. Her hemline is inversely proportional to her love life happiness. One scene last night she had on a burgundy mini dress that was up there.

Vero is so pretty when she is happy, even with that half baked hair. I knew a secret office romance would do the trick. Must be why that activity is so popular.

Char the voice of reason is growing on me. Who, BTW, appears to be unexplainably available. Hear that Maria?

That's the woofer report for now

Thank you for your recap, Alfredo. Don't know if I'll have time to watch my recording today, so your recap is especially appreciated!

We all wondered if Dulce would return, and looks like she has. Ugh.... 😛 I hate to see what will happen to Valentina and "Danny". Telenovela rules usually have some sort of kidnapping . . .

Maria can just fall off the planet. Now. Alien abduction would work.

“Cloudy With a Chance of Ex-Wife” was beyond Alfredo. Your recap soared! Amazing.

Rod keeping his sexual preference a “secret” from work is confusing. It is a small world after all, does he really think no one will find out? Initially he was all for adoption. Now he is waffling? This isn’t the strong, confident man who was proud of his life, secure and joyous in his relationship that we met initially. “Rodrigo comes into the living room and, very dejected, asks Rafael to help him evaluate their relationship because they must decide if they want to be together” was very sad. Every single couple is experiencing difficult times.

“Jorge does not look happy, in fact, he probably looks disappointed that another relationship may be imploding in the cul-de-sac.” Yes he did (to his credit). But he did not speak nor try to comfort Rafael (to his discredit).

Dulce not asking about the children, HER children is unforgiveable. At least he told Kika he spoke with her. And of course Dulce is right. Their children would never forgive him if he didn’t help her.

Isauro IS pure horror Judy and Susanlynn. Who on earth is his partner??

Jarifa, yes, Gladys was the highlight of the night. She was gleefully keeping score. I might suggest Kika work on losing with grace. Speaking of losing, Jorge will not be happy finding out she has manipulated his life and livelihood. Let’s hope he is more forgiving of this than other things in his life.

Andy, you are spot on regarding Tono’s father. Ice cold in their last conversation which is a shame. Not quite sure Vero is up for another child but we will see.
Loved the kids with Mauricio. He is learning to listen a bit more and understanding that children do have incredible ideas. I’m sick that Fabian is going to seek out Anifer for her sage insight.

"I knew a secret office romance would do the trick. Must be why that activity is so popular". Well, you were right Kirby!

Alfredo, thank you, thank you.

Diana

Good Morning!

Mr. AAA, thank you for another wonderfully crafted recap. Titles are equally impressive.

Andy, I thought Tono would be bummed out a bit longer too, but no, he's quite back to his old self...and chasing after Vero...needing some consolation???

Jarifa, I'm not going to enjoy that PSA on human trafficking. Isauro is deplorable as is Dulce, the wicked witch. I won"t call her a mother, because she is anything but that.

JudyB, the etapa decisiva is over...we are now in the "ultimas semanas!"

Kirby, I was wondering when Chary was going to start growing on you...her body parts look quite more natural than Kika's. Oh and I also noticed the hemline on Renee's dress.

Doris, I agree that Maria should be off hte planet...can we send Dulce along?

Diana, I was pleasantly surprised that Jorge told Kika about Dulce. His emphasis on the lies Dulce told him made Kika quite uncomfortable, so I hope she tells him about his "job" before he finds out from someone else. I couldn't believe Jorge still brings up "sinning." Does he not recall that lying by omission is also a sin? and what about all the trysts he's having with Kika??? HIPPOcrite!!

I too enjoyed seeing Gladys...she was truly the highlight for last night's episode.

When I saw Mauricio with the children, my only thought was, " Wow this character sure has made a 180 since the TN first started!"

"I knew a secret office romance would do the trick. Must be why that activity is so popular"
Ha! Reminds me of something that happened, years ago, at a local Federal courthouse. Some attorney and a clerk decided to engage in said activity in either a courtroom or a judge's chambers (can't recall which). What they did not know was the room had a PA system that was still "on" and their activities were heard all over the courthouse!

Rgv Chick - "off the planet" is too good an ending for Dulce. She deserves the biggest, most horrific anvil, ever.

Since Dulce is the
MOST
HATEFUL
EVER

the only thing worse would be for her to be in on selling her daughter. It does happen, but usually where severe drug addiction is involved.

So why can Dulce not just leave?
Is she wanted too now by her association with her Boyfriend, or as an accomplice?

Let's see, on the Lawyer show after this one, Dulce would turn herself in with a guarantee of immunity in exchange for turning in Isuzu. Of course she would need a hearthrob lawyer to do this.

Good morning, all. I have enjoyed reading all the comments.

Kirby and Chickie...that was a short skirt? Dress? That Renee was wearing. Perhaps it was a skort (a short skirt with attached shorts underneath,).

There are quite a few commenters from Australia on the Outlander forum that I visit, so I have picked up some aussie expressions.for example.. ",tosh" which seems to mean ",crap," " ,rubbish, "

NotatallDulce deserves a giant anvil.

It is nice to see Vero, Tono, and the kids all together again.I have seen that blonde with very dark roots on other tv folks.

W ell, waiting to hear from hub who is up at the farm watching them take down the giant pine tree that fell on the farmhouse. This will be expensive $$$$$ ........tosh !😖😫😞😟

GM, good folks! It's always fun and interesting to read these comments, and I get different perspectives on things. I didn't think that bit with Gladys (Bárbara Torres) scoring the Kika vs Renée matchup was very funny, but some here did. Too bad I didn't get it because I do like Bárbara Torres and very much enjoyed her acting in Ramoon.

Bad guy Isauro wants to traffic Val??? That seems awfully far-fetched to me, but I don't have an alternative motive for his stalking her.

This TN turned out to be better than I expected, at least for a while, but I think it has run its course and I won't be crushed to see it end.

andy

Doris, after I published, I thought the same thing. Dulce deserves a far worse anvil than being off the planet. Maybe she should be the one that is sold off to human traffickers.

Susy, it looked more like a skirt. Skorts are usually somewhat loose and this skirt hugged her bottom quite tightly.

Thank you Alfredo! I sure did love your title, very fitting for the show.

Dulce has a lot of nerve asking Jorge for help after what she did to him and the kids. Next thing you know, she will be asking to come home.

I am very happy to see Vero and Tono back together and in love. I could never figure out what Tono did to deserve divorce...

Just an update on my health: I am starting to feel better now. The fatigue is starting to lift, so I am no longer feeling like I need to go back to bed at 10:00 a.m.

Cynthia, thank you for the update and best wishes for your continuing improvement. Just remember to take it as easily as you can. : )

Superb recap as usual, Alfredo! ITA with Jarifa, JudyB, and RgvChick that introducing the possibility of selling Valentina to a sex trafficker pretty much destroyed the comedy of this episode. Of course, she will be saved (maybe by Kika?), but still. Well, back to averaging grades. :(

SpanProf: Well if Valentina gets kidnapped, I don't think it will be for long or maybe the plans will be foiled. If Dulce gets wind of it, I do not think she will allow this to happen. Even though Dulce has been BAD, I just have a feeling that if she stumbles upon these plans, she will do something to make sure it doesn't happen. Or we will have Rodrigo come to the rescue or something.

Sex trafficking is big business and big money lately. It's so very sad and so horrific.

Alfredo - double thank you! I have time to watch and ..... my DVR screen is black. The show did not record last night. Even today, Looneyvision is "having technical difficulties." Probably has more to do with our cable provider than Univision. 🙄

I'm glad you are a bit better Cynthia. Hope you get a little energy back - fatigue is so draining...

doris and RgvChick, Dulce is deplorable. Worst. Mother. Ever. It just seems so wrong that she reappears right before Mother's Day, doesn't it?? Blech.

That said, I agree with Cynthia that although Dulce's treatment of her children is unforgiveable, I can't believe she would knowingly turn her daughter over into the hands of cruel, sadistic criminals.

The "partner" must be someone we know, otherwise they just would have showed him (I'm assuming it's a man). I thought for a fleeting second it might be Fabian, but as he is Anifer's father, I dismissed that right away.

Diana

Hooray for your recovery Cynthia. Sometimes the worst part is just wondering if you'll ever have your normal energy back again. So glad you are progressing.

It sounds like we're in for a rough ride if it's "ultimas semanas". That's when the writers really pile it on. Like Andy Banda I'm not going to shed tears when this is over. It's the Patio I'll miss; not the show.

I see Dulce dying as the only way for Jorge and Kika to move on. I hope the children never have to lay eyes on her again. I only wish we didn't.

Now Maria is another story. I don't much care for her but nothing she has done deserves death. As things are, there is no reason for her to stay other than to let her daughter be with her heart father. My hope would be she meets and falls for someone and lives in the immediate vicinity, so Anifer can have the best of both worlds - her parents, though not together.

Diana

Though in my opinion, in a comedy there shouldn't be even a whiff of Law and Order SVU, whether the kidnapping attempt is foiled easily or not.

When we were watching "Ramon", there was a kidnapping of Ramon and Fabiola's baby, but that was toward the end and the baby was rescued. That TN I believe was a romantic comedy as well.

In "Papa", if this kidnapping does happen, I'm sure it will be a flop. But I know what you mean about Law and Order SVU. I don't want things to turn that serious!

JudyB, I agree about this novela and the patio. The novela is not bad but it is just average for me. It started out with a bang and had plenty of potential but in the last six weeks or so has gotten lost in inconsequential plots and characters leaving the main plots floundering with no resolutions in sight. I lay the situation at the feet of the producer and the writers.

Cynthia...glad that you are feeling better.

Diana, perhaps Dulce will die saving Val.

I do not see any e!igible local bachelor for Maria unless things get really bad between Rafe and Rod, and Rod is bi. Maria at the very least needs to get a job. in the area to keep Anifer near Maury.

I know that Renee and Maury are endgame, but Ariel is very handsome , and he and Renee make such a cute couple.

Cynthia - Oh, forgive me, in the middle of my cable TV drama I forgot to say how happy I am that your fatigue is abating. This is, no doubt, a big step for your recovery. Hang in there and (((hugs)))!

... and after talking with my cable tv provider (ATT-Uverse), according to them the problem is with Univision. Hhhmmmm....... and there is still no TV today, just "technical difficulties" although cable tv provider says Uni is "working on it." Eh, right, we got cheated out of part of our hockey game Monday night, while our friends with Comcast did not. Hhhmmm.......

Susanlynn, I agree with you, and don't. It would be nice for María to find someone local. Since she is so "liberal" if HotRod and Rafa break up, I think María and Rod would make a nice couple.

Ariel is a wimp, he can pair up with Rafa, another wimp.

:-)

Maria and RifRaf are very similar. If HotRod could overlook a couple of minor anatomical details and get used to her looks they might make a nice couple.

And if Mau keeps wearing that horse collar, he and Rafa might make a couple too. #changingpartners

Cynthia that is good news that you are finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, so to speak.
From what little I know, recurrances of BPalsy are rare, that is reassuring.

I'm glad to know you are on the mend.

Oh that would be something. Pair Maria with Rodrigo. I can just see it now. "Rafa, I'm leaving you for a real woman. One that does not whine like you do all the time."

Cynthia! ROF... etc. Great to see your sense of humor is fully intact! I hope you are soon 100% 100%.

Doris: Oh thank you. NO worries...oh you can watch episodes online with Univision. Have you tried that? They make you log in with your Cable TV user name and password. As long as you have one set up (I have it set up with my Spectrum Time Warner because I pay my bill online.) you can watch as many novelas that they have online.

Thank you Kirby and Andy! I truly appreciate your thoughts and well wishes.

Kirby, well do you remember on "Vino" that those actors who play Maria and Rodrigo were a couple? On Vino, they were Miguel and Erica. They were engaged, and Erica died of an asthma attack.

Cynthia - last time I checked, ATT Uverse was not on the list of providers to watch online . . . BUT . . . I checked just now, at your suggestion, and ATT is now in the list! Thank you!

Glad to be of help, Doris!

Yikes.

Cynthia, yes Maria (Erica then) was the competing Winery's owner's daughter. Then when Soto finally won little cutie, name escapes me, Miggy went to the other winery, fell in Luuurve with Erica and then she died.
