Papa a Toda madre #95/96 5.31.18: Bite You Once, Shame On The Snake, Bite You Twice, It's a Novela

Capitulo #95: A Time Jump and a Smoke Signal

Mauricio urges Anifer to tell him what Fabian told her, because she won’t get in trouble, and Anifer confesses everything and worries that he won’t love her in the future, because they aren’t blood related. Mauricio tells her not worry, because she is his daughter, no matter how old he gets. Anifer makes him promise, and he does, and also promises not to lie to her again, especially after lying about his relationship with Maria. Maria assures her that her relationship with Mauricio won’t affect her relationship with her, they are both adults, and came deal with their issues without involving her. Anifer nods and Maria also tells her that they won’t take her to see Fabian as often. Anifer worries that he won’t get better unless they visit him, but Maria tells her that his well-being doesn’t depend on them.

The next morning, Jorge gets dressed as Dulce smiles from bed and asks if he wants to go for Round 2. Jorge tells her that he is in a hurry now, so she proposes that they do it that night though Jorge promises to let her know when it’s time. She smiles and announces that she’s going to show then but asks for a kiss. Jorge obliges and scurries out, afraid she will get grabby again, and Dulce screams that she loves him.

At Tono’s, Veronica sets up a Facebook profile for Esperanza and shows her the basics, so they can always communicate with her, no matter where she is. She then asks Esperanza if she feels better, after the hit, and Esperanza explains that she does and will be leaving soon. Veronica smiles and assures Esperanza that she’s on her side and will be okay with any decision she makes though Esperanza knows there is something else going on. Veronica admits that she’s going stir crazy as a housewife, after working outside of the house for so long, so Esperanza suggests she work in the cooperative company with Tono. Veronica would love to, but she can’t invite herself to go work there, if Tono hasn’t offered. Esperanza reminds her that their savings are invested in the company, but Veronica reminds her that it’s only a portion of them, thank god. Esperanza nods.

Jorge goes to confessional at his church and begs for forgiveness because he was with a woman he didn’t love when he loves another woman. He explains that he cheated on the woman he loved with his wife though he thought that they were divorced but they are not. The priest reminds him that he had sex with his wife, therefore, it’s not a sin, but he did sin with Kika. Jorge explains that fidelity has to do with the heart, not a legal document, but the priest reminds him that he made a vow in front of God and he needs to adhere to it, for the good of his family. Jorge insists that God would be happier if he made the right decision and stayed with his wife, but Jorge walks out of the confessional because he is having trouble accepting the words of something who doesn’t understand what he’s going through.

Esperanza explains to Veronica that she also tried to work but her husband never wanted her too and times were different, so she had to accept it. Veronica reminds her that she was educated the same way, a woman doesn’t work, but Esperanza reminds her that she studied and that makes her more valuable to the job market. Veronica thinks Esperanza has the will and the way though to make it and Esperanza smiles before asking for her more information on the Facebook. Veronica nods and they try to find a suitable picture for her profile.

At Renee’s, Mauricio tells Renee about what Fabian did and how powerless he felt to stop it. Renee can’t believe it, but it’s expected. Mauricio then whispers that he was dying to see her as well and Renee smiles before confessing that she told the truth to Ariel and he took it well. Mauricio nods but is still bothered by the fact that she and Ariel would see each other daily but Renee reminds him that they just got back together and need to see where their relationship takes up. Mauricio nods and Renee reminds him that, their relationship won’t be easy, but Mauricio wants to work it out. He thinks he’s just the cherry on top of her Hawaiian Pizza and she can enjoy it all. Renee thinks Anifer would still be an issue, including the fact that his new company is in Mexico, but Mauricio shrugs. He is determined to make their relationship work right now, because not everything is immediately fixable, but he thinks they can make it. Renee smiles but continues to list her doubts when Mauricio gives her a big kiss. She smiles and gives him a hug, but he doesn’t seem as confident as he was a few minutes ago.

Weeks later…

Mauricio meets with all the dads in his house to discuss how their bracelets are selling. He encourages them not to worry because, while the toy is not selling everywhere or flying off the shelves, it will be soon. Jorge would rather crunch some numbers, because they have to see if they can continue to keep going like they are, but Mauricio thinks they have the most important stores, in the US also, and that should be good for now. Mauricio does propose that they fabricate the toys in another assembly line but no one else agrees so Jorge moves on to the next order of business: the offices are almost ready. They all smile and thank Jorge for his initiative. Jorge then announces that he is leaving with his family for the weekend, and the trip was economical, but not everything is sunshine and rainbows for Jorge (for is leaving with Dulce). Tono and Neron then decide making fun of “Gilderado” is the best way to pass the time as Maria calls Mauricio over to the kitchen to talk. Maria tells Mauricio that Fabian called her and he wants to see them and Anifer that very afternoon. Mauricio is floored.

In the nursing home for the kidnapped, Fabian, now sporting a cane like Dear Old Dad, threatens his lawyer to do his job or else. He then turns his attention to Noel, who is designing a new toy, and wonders what he told Renee about his “wonderful” designs before revealing that Renee continues to look for her like a stubborn mule, just like him. Noel wonders if he’s jealous but Fabian notes that even he can feel something for a daughter he didn’t know about. Noel thinks Anifer won’t love him, if she knows who he really is, but Fabian thinks he is just following the example he was given his whole life. Fabian smiles and rips up Noel’s toy before telling him that he will be a better father than Noel ever was. Noel wonders why he has him kidnapped, if he doesn’t love him, but Fabian wants to form a new family with him and Anifer. He then shows him recent pictures of Anifer as Noel cringes because Fabian is anything but nice.

Rafael and Rodrigo show Renee the room they have set up for Manola and she thinks it’s looks great. They then explain that they are only missing one visit and then they can adopt Manola and be the best parents they can be. Renee is happy to hear it and asks if their families know. Rodrigo’s do but Rafael’s doesn’t because they barely accept he’s gay, so he doesn’t want to open that can of worms. Rodrigo nods and then they live as Renee walks them to the door and explains that she is saving as much as she can for Maryland. Once alone, Renee goes over all the money she has available and writes it down in her spreadsheet.

As Dulce packs her bag, she asks Samuel to please thank Jorge a lot for the trip because she begged him for weeks, so he could accept. Samuel will, as they haven’t gone anyone in a while, and then Dulce asks him to think about an exercise and diet regimen when they get back because obesity is becoming a problem in Mexico. Samuel nods, slightly annoyed, and then asks Dulce how they will celebrate the twins’ birthday tomorrow. Dulce has some ideas but then asks Samuel to go clean up the table and takes out the twins’ passport from the nightstand and smiles.

Noel looks at pictures of Anifer as Fabian wonders if she looks like him. Noel pretends to continue looking and finds Renee phone number as Fabian comes up behind him. Noel goes back to the pictures, calls Fabian a secret sentimentalist, and Fabian agrees because Anifer changed him. He then takes his cell phone back, promises to bring Anifer to see him one day, and leaves. Once alone, Noel writes down the number from memory.

Dulce goes into Lili’s room and looks around in her bags for her ID from school. She finds it and smiles to herself before going to Baldo’s room. She finds his school ID as well and smiles because now they have no identification to travel. She declares that NOW it will be a real family trip.

At the orphanage, Rafael and Rodrigo wait anxiously for the administrator, Isabel, who arrives a few seconds later with bad news. While all their papers are in order, she has some news about Manola that she should’ve shared with them earlier. The guys wonder what it could be.

At Neron’s, Ciceron and co. pack everything, hire movers, and say their goodbyes to Neron and Flor. Flor asks the kids to behave and the kids give her a picture, which she accepts with a smile. Ciceron, with tears in his eyes, apologies to Neron for his lies and his bad behavior and Neron forgives him before asking him to be better in the future, for himself and his family, unlike he did with them. Ciceron promises to fix his life and then Socorro thanks them as well and promises to take practical classes so she can pay for the expenses at home as well. Ciceron is happy to hear it and then everyone leaves but Ciceron. He apologizes to Flor, personally, and she give shim a big hug before encouraging Milady to say something because say may be a mute. He leaves but Neron worries that he was right about Milady though Flor tells him that he’s exaggerating.

Noel manages to get out of his room (despite having tried to escape once) and waits for the nurse to stop using the phone and leaves. He wonders if he can make it this time before he’s caught.

Maria and Mauricio, minus Anifer, go to visit Fabian and note that he seems better. Fabian thanks them and explains that he's trying to work on his condition, even if it isn't easy, and then asks about Anifer. Maria and Mauricio decided not to bring her and tell Fabian that they need to leave some things clear before they allow Anifer to see him again. Fabian thought his lawyer had made a deal with them, he gets to see Anifer regularly and they use the assembly line at Logatoys, but Mauricio explains that Anifer came to some conclusions the last time see saw him and they need to talk about those conclusions because they know it was his doing. Fabian feigns not knowing what they are talking about.

Veronica offers to take Renee to the foundation, but she shakes her head and explains that she would rather go on the train because it's faster. Esperanza greets Renee then and explains that she and Veronica just went shopping to get her some things she will need for when she moves. Esperanza hopes Tono didn't leave the house a mess since he was taking care of the kids by himself, but Veronica is sure he did a good job; Esperanza congratulates Veronica on teaching Tono all she couldn't while he was growing up. Just then, Flor comes out of her house with Milady and she fills them in on how her classes are going including all the new words she's learning. Renee then receives a call and walks away from the group but is surprised to hear it's Noel, who begs her to come and rescue him. Renee is shocked.

Isabel reveals to Rafael and Rodrigo that Manola has a brother and they always recommend that siblings are adopted together because it will make the transition easier. In fact, it would be illegal for Manola and her brother to be adopted separately. Rafael thinks this is good news and wonders who Manola's brother is. Isabel points out a kid fighting over a ball in the distance, Bryan, the same one who stole Rafael's cellphone, and reveals that he is Manola's brother. Rafael and Rodrigo wonder what they will do now.

Renee asks Noel for clues about where he could be, but Noel has no idea where he might be and has no way to see outside to give her directions. He does remember seeing plenty of trees, so he thinks it might be a clinic in the middle of the forest. He then asks her to save him but hangs up because he will get caught either way after asking her not to call him back on the number that registered in her cell phone. Renee goes back to the group and tells them that she needs to find someone but has no idea where they could be. She then decides to google the phone number, and see what comes up, but nothing does. Veronica offers to help, and even call the police, but Renee worries that they will take the person to jail. Flor asks Renee to be straight with them, as do the rest of the women, and asks Renee to tell them who they are trying to find. Renee reveals that they are trying to find her father.

Fabian blows a gasket, furious that Maria and Mauricio would leave him without the ability to see Anifer. Mauricio thinks they should discuss things, calmly, but Fabian is tired of everything being taken away from him. For example, Renee is about to take away his father's love, after only a few weeks, and now Mauricio is trying to take away Anifer, like he took his rightful place in Logatoys. Just then, Fabian's lawyer arrives with a document and shows Mauricio and Maria. Fabian is suing them for his parental rights over Anifer and will not stop until Anifer is his forever...

Capitulo #96: Betrayal...It Runs In the Family

Fabian announces that he will take Anifer away from Mauricio and Maria, forever, but Mauricio is not going to take this lying down. He now realizes Fabian hasn’t changed either and Maria doesn’t know why Fabian even wants Anifer, as he was never a good father and never will be. Mauricio reminds Fabian that they and Maria made a deal but Fabian just wants to have his rights as Anifer’s father. Mauricio threatens to report him but Fabian threatens to show the DNA tests to the police and open up everything they have been hiding. Mauricio wonders why Fabian wants to continue ruining his life, especially by hurting Anifer, but Fabian just want to be close to his daughter, who touched his heart. He then asks Maria if she kept copies of anything but he laughs when he realizes that she didn’t and didn’t learn anything in jail. Maria tells Fabian that she trusted him but Fabian reminds them that they shouldn’t have and tells them that they can keep a copy of the report, and they better do things the easy way or they will have to do it the hard way. Mauricio and Maria leave in a huff.

At the airport, the twins search for their identification documents but don’t find them. Jorge wonders why Dulce got the twins’ ticket with their original last name and Dulce reminds him that she didn’t know he had registered them under his name. Jorge urges the twins to find their IDs, as Dulce tries to walk ahead, but Jorge stops them because he wants they to go together. Valentina shakes her head as Dulce urges the twins to look for their IDs.

At the gazebo, Flor calls back the number Noel called from and makes up a story about her grandfather needing to find a doctor. The nurse gives her barely any information but Flor is able to deduce that it’s some sort of clinic and the nurse mentioned Lake Guadalupe, which Flor knows, is in Queretaro. Veronica, Esperanza and Flor offer to go with Renee to help and Renee smiles before thanking them for their help. Flor drops off Milady at home and they go off.

An announcement comes over the intercom that the flight is boarding but Jorge refuses to go unless the twins can board the plane. He asks Dulce to go ahead with their kids but Dulce wants him to go. Jorge proposes they find their IDs at home and board a later flight. Either way, he isn’t leaving without all his children. What’s certain is that Baldo and Lili think Dulce had something to their disappearing IDs but Samuel shakes his head as Dulce begins to defend herself.

Rafael and Rodrigo are shocked to hear Bryan’s and Manuela’s story and they find themselves sympathizing with their struggle. With tears in their eyes, Rafael and Rodrigo look at Isabel, who tells them that Bryan will be a handful, if they chose to adopt him. From a few feet away, Bryan looks at them, unsure of what to do.

Mauricio and Maria arrive at the cul-de-sac and Mauricio offers her his full support because she can’t lose Anifer. Maria isn’t afraid of the trial but she is afraid of what Fabian can do. Mauricio thinks they shouldn’t worry until later and then approach Tono and Neron, who explain that the women left them with the kids and went on a mission, though they have no idea where they went.

Veronica drives around in circles and asks the women if the street doesn’t look familiar. Esperanza can’t distinguish anything specific, neither can Flor, but they all offer to wait and help Renee. Just then, Flor asks all the women to get down low as a giant truck drives out of one of the building. Flor deduces that any clinic has to be there because there are bigger trucks coming out of there. Renee has a plan but she needs volunteer, which turns out to be Flor, who doesn’t say “Not It!” fast enough.

As Jorge helps the twins look for their IDs in the waiting area, Charytin and Kika walk by because she came back on a business trip. Charytin notices them, begs Kika to please no approach him, but it’s too late because Jorge has seen her and greets her.

As one of the vans drive out of the building, the women pretend to look at the engine of their broken down truck as Flor flags down the driver of the van and asks for more info on the building, in her best “airhead” voice. The driver doesn’t offer any information but asks her to get in the van so he can drive her to a fun place. Flor smiles and begs him to give her more information so the driver tells her about the hospital he works at, behind him, for VIP senior citizens, who’s families don’t want to deal with them anymore. Flor screams the information back at the women and Renee runs inside the clinic with Esperanza and Veronica as Flor asks if she will be able to walk inside. The driver tells her no as his supervisor tells him to get moving. Flor says goodbye and runs to the car.

Veronica and Renee help Esperanza, who pretends to have dementia, inside the clinic and ask the nurse if there is a slot for her grandmother. The nurse explains that the clinic is very exclusive and wonders who told them about it. The women struggle for a convincing answer.

Kika explains that she’s in Mexico on business and asks what Jorge is doing at the airport. He explains that he’s going on a trip but the twins’ can’t find their passport. The twins and Charytin move their heads from side to side as Jorge and Kika babble their way through their awkward reunion. Jorge tells Kika that the loan her company gave him is about to be paid off but Kika asks that he tell the person who hired him about it. She also encourages him to stay with the portion he considers correct for his work and neither of them will admit their feelings so it’s time for the awkward show to end. Kika wishes him good luck and then walks away (actually Kika drags her away) and Jorge tells the twins that they are going back home. (I assume Dulce left with the kids like the harpy she is).

Renee evades the nurse’s questions but does praise but she still needs a recommendation from someone important to allow Esperanza to stay at the hospital. Esperanza and Veronica then distract the nurse as Renee sneaks away.

Moments later, Renee walks down the halls of the clinic as Noel wakes up from his drugged sleep in his room. He finds his door open and closes it shut, not knowing Renee is there already.

At home, Mauricio tells Anifer what happened with Fabian. He reiterates that he doesn’t want her near Fabian but Anifer wants to see him one final time, at least to say goodbye. Mauricio hoped he wouldn’t have to reveal this but he tells Anifer that Fabian is trying to take her away from him. Anifer is shocked.

In Anifer’s room, Maria receives a call from a friend, Meche, who is waiting for her to return to San Crispin. Maria explains that she would love to and asks about things in San Crispin. Meche confirms that things are the same and that everyone always asks about her. Maria misses her hometown but she has things left to do in the city.

Renee walks down one hallway when Noel comes up next to her and covers her mouth, begging her to be quiet.

Mauricio asks Anifer to understand his position but Anifer does not and runs away to her room. Just then, Mauricio receives a call from a customer who bought his product and is shocked to hear that it sucks.

The nurse at the clinic asks security to remove Veronica and Esperanza from the clinic and find Renee. Veronica begs the security guards to be calm, because they won’t hurt anyone, but Esperanza leads the whole clinic in a rebellion against the hierarchy and every one of the patients chant that they will not be ignored as Veronica smiles and films her.

Renee and Noel walk through the hospital as Noel wonders how they will get out. Just then, Renee sees a laundry basket that an orderly left by a door and smiles.

Mauricio goes to Tono’s and meets with him and Neron about their possibly defective toy. They have no idea what happened, as all the materials were the best quality, but they have no idea what happened. The only thing they can think is that the problem was during the assembly line because all the workers were Fabian’s people. Mauricio tells them that have to check the last batch and they all agree.

Renee, now with a white doctor’s coat on, pushes the laundry basket through the clinic with Noel inside. A guard sees her and demands she identity herself so Renee makes a run for it. She makes it outside and locks the only entrance to the clinic with Noel’s cane as Noel walks outside. Renee helps him into the car Flor is driving and speed off as the guards reach them.

Sometime later, the nurse calls Fabian to tell him that a group of women helped him escape. Fabian can’t believe they were so stupid to let Noel, a drugged old man, escape.

At Mauricio’s, the men look over the last batch of bracelets that were fabricated. It effectively falls apart in Mauricio’s arms and Tono and Neron realize that their quality materials were replaced by cheap ones. Mauricio can’t believe he was so stupid and Tono now understands why Mauricio didn’t want to work with Logatoys. Mauricio proposes they call Jorge, who goes on vacation at the worse time, and tells him what happened. Mauricio is surprised to hear Jorge never left Mexico City.

In a restaurant, Rafael and Rodrigo discuss the pros and cons of adopting Bryan and Manuela. Rafael seems more willing to accept but Rodrigo can only see the bad in adopting two kids. Rodrigo admits that he loves Manuela but doesn’t know if he can deal with Bryan.

Jorge has arrived at Mauricio’s and tells the men that they can report Fabian but there is little to no proof that Fabian tampered with the assembly line of their toy. Also, Fabian can argue that they put the material for the toys, even if they were switched out with inferior materials later on. Either way, their hands are tied, because Fabian let them manufacture the toys for less than is customary, and Mauricio cringes because Fabian can now demand him for Anifer and the cheap toys (I don’t see how? Maybe libel and/or slander?)

Sometime later, Rafael and Rodrigo go to the orphanage and tell Isabel that they have decided to adopt Bryan as well as Manuela because they are fighting discrimination and they can’t discriminate against Bryan like previous parents had. Isabel smiles but reminds them that Bryan has a lot of problems though they don’t care. In fact, they also love that Bryan protects his sister and that the siblings are so close because they have nothing but love to offer both children. Isabel nods and the couple announces that they want to give their children all the love their can.

Renee takes Noel home but she tells him that they can’t stay long because she has renters. She asks him to sit down and Noel asks why she rents out her house. Renee explains that she needed the money as Noel looks around and smiles because they are in Catalina’s house. Renee nods but is worried that Fabian will find out he escaped and realize that she helped him. Noel worries about what Fabian might do but Renee assures him that her friends at the cul-de-sac will help her. Noel nods and asks if anyone else can help so Renee reveals that Mauricio can and he’s doing to see Noel and clear the air. Noel prefers not to see him yet and asks her for the bathroom so he can wash his face and lay down a bit. Renee reminds him that he knows where it is and Noel laughs.

Mauricio can’t believe that Fabian has managed to take everything away from him again and Jorge offers to help Mauricio, any way he can. Jorge then receives a call from Dulce, who ahs arrived at the hotel, and wants to know if he’s at the airport. Jorge explains that the twins are still looking for their IDs but he will get on the first trip out. Dulce smiles and then bids him goodbye before calling Samuel and Valentina and asking them to put on their bathing suit with a smile. Valentina rolls her eyes but obliges.

Lili and Baldo look all over the house but don’t their IDs; they assume Dulce got them and destroyed everything. Lili proposes they empty their suitcases but Baldo reminds her that their birthday is tomorrow so he will be 18 and leaving to Tijuana. Lili looks unsure.

Mauricio fills in Maria on what happened with the toys and they agree Fabian has a screw lose. He worries about the damage this could do to his new company and his reputation but Maria has something more important to discuss: Anifer. She asks Mauricio if he thinks it’s a good idea to take Anifer back to San Crispin, to protect her from everything, but they can’t talk more because Renee knocks on the door. Maria leaves them to talk and Renee confesses that she found Noel.

At Renee’s, Noel comes out of the kitchen with a glass of water, sees the money Renee was counting earlier and left on the desk, and grabs it, a crazy look in his eyes.

Renee fills in Mauricio on what Fabian did to Noel and Mauricio is still surprised that Fabian is the worst human being on earth. Mauricio thinks he should talk to Noel right now but Renee asks him to wait as Noel may not be in the right state of mind. Mauricio demands to see Noel pronto.

Moments later, Renee lets Mauricio into her house and asks him to not bombard him with questions, like he is dying to do, and Mauricio reluctantly agrees. She then goes to look for Noel but can’t find him anywhere in the house, much to her chagrin. Moments later, Mauricio finds a note Noel left detailing how Noel left in a hurry, took her money and her renter’s clothes, and is very sorry. Renee wonders if they can catch up to him and they run outside.

The twins tell Jorge about what Dulce did, and how he should leave without them, but he reiterates that he is not leaving without them. Just then, he receives a call from Dulce and Jorge begs her to be honest with him and tell him if he took the twins’ ID. Dulce tells him that she didn’t but wonders if the twins hid their IDs because they didn’t want to go. Either way, she wants to know if he’s coming but Jorge reminds her it’s the twins’ birthday and they need him. Dulce reminds him that his other children need him too.

At Tono’s, Esperanza drinks a tea and tells Veronica and Tono that she doesn’t want to live in a retirement home anymore. Tono kisses her hands and gets on his knees before announces that she won’t find a better place to live than with them. Esperanza smiles and tells him that she prefers to live alone, by herself, ASAP. Tono looks dejected.

Renee and Mauricio come back home but they didn’t find Noel. Mauricio wonders if Noel was in her house but Renee demands that he trust her and not think she’s lying, especially after Fabian told him Noel was alive. Mauricio reminds her that Fabian is a liar and wonders why Noel would be so scared of his own son. Renee thinks he’s scared of facing Mauricio but Mauricio can’t understand why. Renee sighs and announces that she’s frustrated with everything but she will wait for Noel to contact her. One thing is for sure, she will not contact Noel again after he ran away from her…

Good morning Patio and a very Good Morning to you Alfredo...not just recapping twice a week but recapping double episodes. You are a wonder. And Lord knows, this show is a hot mess right now. Multiple betrayals. Mind numbing shifts in scenarios. Haven't seen this yet but I imagine that Flor was quite seductive in getting the truck driver's attention. The gals certainly picked the right babe to serve as a distraction.

As much as I love our group and our recappers, I am counting the days until this one ends. Are we all going to stay on board for Bella y Bestias? Clearly it is not going to be a comedy, but I would certainly miss you all if the Patio broke up.

Judy, getting ready to do battle with the wisteria before it gets too hot to even think about it. And feeling very grateful for our stalwart AAA!

Thank you for your recap, Alfredo, and the snarky comments. I'll watch during granddaughter's nap time. Unless I need a nap, too. I can so relate to Esperanza and Toño's tribe, this week. LOL

JudyB - "hot mess" is a perfect description.

I'm probably not going to watch B&B. Too much hate, violence, and killing in real life and whole world today. I don't want to watch it on TV. As I get older, I prefer lighter fare. I'm holding out for MMTF-II.

"Jorge gets dressed as Dulce smiles from bed and asks if he wants to go for Round 2." Ugh.... really? Jorndog Jorge is just disgusting. I want to barf. Keep him away from the livestock. (at least, with 2 wks left, she can't claim to be preñada)

R & R need to think hard about Manolita's brother. Some kids cannot be fixed no matter how much love and boundaries they are given, and can, instead, destroy a family with their emotional problems. I've known of many people who have experienced this. It's not always a HEA.

Since this is a feel good telenovela, adopting brother as well "will work out beautifully".

But I agree,Doris, in real life, not so much. A friend of mine and her husband adopted a 6 year old girl, after having two boys of their own. The child eventually tried to kill their cat, then went after the boys, finally accused her adoptive parents of sexual abuse and they had to re-mortgage their home to pay the legal bills. Eventually the adoption was rescinded but the older son never forgave them and the family remained fractured until my friend's death many years later.

Thank You Mr. Alfredo. One question: Do the writers assume we forget what happened from one episode to the next? Fabian returned Logatoys to Mauricio. Ninety percent of this story is an insult to the intelligence of a gnat.

I did like the Pink Panthers rescuing Noel

Doris, spot on on Jorndog and on the Brother from hell.

JudyB your story about your friend is more common than you think. The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

Nice picture Kirby. Always look forward to those.

Doris, I'd opt for a nap while your granddaughter is snoozing.
Grandparenting is just as exhausting as parenting...especially when they are really mobile which your little gal is. Once they're running around, seems like they're just an accident waiting to happen. Naps allow you to catch your breath.

Alfredo, more double duty. Thank you. You are so dedicated and this recap was another stellar installment. Loved the clever title.

"Jorge obliges and scurries out" and "the nursing home for the kidnapped" were among many favorites.

“Dulce smiles from bed and asks if he wants to go for Round 2”. Even though I didn’t understand the dialog, Dulce’s smug look left no doubt as to what occurred. “Jorge walks out of the confessional because he is having trouble accepting the words of something who doesn’t understand what he’s going through”. Idiot. He has disappointed us in every possible way. "Jorndog Jorge is right doris...

"Fabian is suing them for his parental rights over Anifer and will not stop until Anifer is his forever...". Proof positive that Anifer can melt any heart, even when simply having a heart is questionable.

I could not watch every minute of this but was sorry to have missed Ciceron making peace with Neron and Flor. I'm glad this unhappy chapter has ended. I was troubled by the reference to Milady not speaking. Is there an issue or am I reading too much into this??

Dulce taking Baldo and Lili's passport was beyond cruel, but certainly not anywhere near the most grievous of Dulce's sins, is it? They have her number and in his heart, Jorge has it too.

Rodrigo realizes the challenges Bryan will present. But I love the fact the adoption is a package deal. Both children will have a good home as they deserve. I'm sort of sorry we won't get a chance to see how all this goes.

Judy, "seductive" was the perfect word to describe Flor during that scene! She oozed sexuality. A fun scene to watch - she really worked it!

Kirby, "pink panthers" had me laughing out loud. Another stunning avatar. Thank you.

And yes Judy, I agree that I will miss this patio. Very much. I also hope everyone stays on board for ByB and perhaps some "old" friends will come back (Fatima, gringo, etc.).

Alfredo, you've done a sensational job. Miss your voice on the comments but your contribution has been outstanding.

Diana

Thank you, Alfredo, for another outstanding recap of the many you have done this week. I was unable to watch last night and it never recorded.

I loved the title. Perfect!

JudyB’s “ hot mess” says it all.

Alfredo, the tablet changed your name to "Adored" which is a pretty good name for someone is dedicated as you are who goes above and beyond to c vs us a witty, detailed recap .

I cannot stand Dulce or jorny Jorge. I guess it is any port in a storm for him. Those two deserve each other. Ick and ugh.

Hub watched with me last night....no choice..one room, one tv. Here's his comments..1. "They talk really fast.(,Flor) 2. "Do you know what they are saying?," 3. Why is she taking that old guy out of the hospital? 4 . ",You know the Phillies are playing.

Looks like a sunny, hot day today at the shore...high 80,s .

Hub sounds like a treasure. No way would mine watch a telenovela when there was a game on he wanted to see.

Kirby: Fabian still WINNING!

Doris: Please tell me that Dumb Jorge didn't have sex with Dulce ?

Thanks, Alfredo. My favorite line: In the nursing home for the kidnapped, -- gave me the giggles.

Enjoyed the ladies' caper to rescue Noel. Finally, Esperanza gets something fun to do.

Still, Noel gives me the creeps just like his son. He built this monster.

Good Morning, Patio! Mr. AAA, your persistence and dedication are to be admired--you whipped out recaps for FOUR episodes this week and all outstanding! Now that I read your recap, last night's events make much more sense. Luv the title too, THANK YOU!!

So was there anyone who didn't think Noel was going to leave Renee's house? That was very predictable! Anywho, with Noel on the loose, what crazy scheme will he come up with. We know that he has always been obsessed with destroying Logatoys. Will he try to fulfill his mission? And what will he do about Fabian? Will he retaliate and give him his anvil? SO many possibilities!!

JudyB, "As much as I love our group and our recappers, I am counting the days until this one ends." I started the count down some time back. I'll stay on for B&B (not to be confused with the Bold and the Beautiful, which, BTW, could be an appropriate title for La Bella) and I 'm hoping it's not too violent. If it is, I may drop it...or not if the patio moves over there. For those who won't be watching, I do hope you drop in to say "Hi" once in awhile and tell us how you are doing. I still think of Julie and Lili and wonder how they are.

Though it will be difficult for R&R. I am glad the two kids will stay together. JudyB, how sad for you friend...prayers for her and the family.

Diana, "about Jornhog, " Idiot. He has disappointed us in every possible way." Yes, he has! If he can't see through D'ulcer, he deserves her. And, "I was troubled by the reference to Milady not speaking. Is there an issue or am I reading too much into this??" I think they're just trying to make us worry. Milady is what...about 6 months old? and they expect her to talk already???

Kirby, "Do the writers assume we forget what happened from one episode to the next?" Could it be that the writers are the ones that are forgetting what they writing? Maybe they just want to rush to finish this thing!

Yeah, what grade is MiLady in now? She should be talking or it is going to be hard doing her homework.

Who cares about Fabian? If he signed over LT back to Einstein (Mau) like he did two episodes ago, he can pound sand. If he gets mouthy tip him over or push him down some stairs, or kick his cane.

These idiots are the most forgiving people ? on earth. Renee is actually worried about Fabian now, after finding out they share a sperm donor? Yeah, like Jeffrey Dahmer's Sister was trying to smuggle in some ears, hands and kidneys to him even while he was on death row.

Jorge and Dulce both being attorneys does not speak well of that profession in this show. They should find them a place over on PASL, they would fit right in.

If these people built cars you'd get one with three wheels and no seats. They could be hot pink and be called a TN-Mobile, the Un Car.

....just back from a walk at the beach..very sunny and hot. Then, I discovered a sidewalk sale. When I was paying at the register, the girl looked out the window at hub and said, ",Your husband is very patient...relationship goals!" Now, in the air conditioning for awhile.

babies start to babble (,mamama, bababa, .dadada) between 7, and 10 months old.

I plan to watch B&B. Hopefully it will be more than karate kicks and wigs.

"Nursing Home for the Kidnapped," ha! !

I think Milady is supposed to be at least 6-7 months old. She should be crawling, or close to it, by now. A lot of time has passed in this telenovela. Really. And, we got "despuesed" at least once or twice.

Thank you Alfredo for your superb job of recapping the two sliced and spliced episodes into one. I had trouble following the show myself, so your recap filled in my "huh?" moments.

I am looking forward to this one ending. I am bored with it. I am longing for the days of "Ramon" and "Vino." At least their "ultimo capitulos" were a lot more exciting.

Jorge has sunk into the slime and goo and his being with Dulce grosses me out. She is a horrible person. Not sure what will happen with Kika, but what would be interesting is another "Kika to the rescue" moment. At least I wouldn't be so BORED.

Rafa & Rod: (Yawning...)

Renee, Vero, Flor, and Esperanza was somewhat of a "keystone cops" moment, but without the laughing. Well Flor was a little more entertaining...

The "Cooperative" needs to not be so trusting and do better quality control! They are napping on the job as the owners.

Cynthia: I badly need to see Dulce get her Karma & Anvils, but it sure as Hell doesn't look like it :(

Alfredo, thank you for this great recap and for filling in the gaps in Looneycision's defective version. You have been a very busy man lately :-)

I'm another one who will be happy to see this TN wrap up. The upcoming B&B doesn't look to be that interesting and might even prove to be a giggle provoker. Still, you never know, so I will try it. I am currently watching two TNs, PATM and 'El Rico y Lázaro', the Brazilian Biblical that airs in the hour just before PATM. I only started watching it after it had been underway for a good while.

Either I was very, very wrong about these Brazilian Biblicals, or this one is very, very atypical. I think it's, unfortunately, the latter.

The main story line has the traditional war, pestilence, famine, and grisly death, but the side stories are great. Lots of eye candy, romance, true love, unrequited love, humor, singing and dancing, odd humorous characters, more eye candy, etc. Who knew?

I didn't think I would have to say this yet again, but Jorge is an idiot. Did he really think he could continue sleeping with his wife, who very much wanted to sleep with him, while he didn't want to sleep with her, and not wind up sleeping with her? :-)

Sounds like a job for Super Kika, but I would really like to see Jorge do his part. And I'm annoyed I didn't get to see Jorge in confession, that had to be good.

I'm glad that R&R are going to adopt the two kids as a family. A kid who is not the youngest, prettiest, best-behaved kid in the house still deserves a chance in life. After all, this is a TN. Who says that two gay men, recently married, not rich, can't successfully manage two new children suddenly in their lives? 8-)

Andy, you are the first person who has said you are watching "El Rico y Lazaro". I watch it too from time to time. They actually follow what is in the Bible. But they add the love and drama which is not there. All that stuff with the love/drama and mostly women characters, none of that is mentioned in scripture.

I wonder why they call it "Rico y Lazaro" because the Rich Man and Lazarus is from one of Jesus' parables in the gospel of Luke. But this novela is based on the time of around 600 BC (586 BC was when the Babylonians destroyed Solomon's temple in Jerusalem and I say around 600, because there were 3 separate exiles that happened from around 610 BC to 586BC or so. Babylonians took the Jews over to Babylon to serve King Nebuchadnezzar. It looks like they took most of what is written in the Old Testament book of Jeremiah and now are doing the book of Daniel.

Possibly y'all have a 2 hour finale on the 11th. I'll add it to the calendar as soon as I know for sure.

Finally got to see the last episode. Renée should have walked 9ut on Mauricio when he asked her if Niél actually had been in her house! Unbelievable. I enjoyaré the women springing Niél. On se roll . . .

Wow! The keyboard has a mind of its own . . .

Jarifa, when your keyboard has a mind of its own, I just use textual criticism to figure it all out. :)

I love it!

I feel sorry for Jorge in spite of how disappointing he can be. But his situation is such a reality for many people in real life. How many parents are there that simply stay together because of their kids, despite having powerful reasons to leave? Also there are many people who don't end their marriages because they don't want to disobey the church. Jorge's being pulled from all sides, but deep down he knows what he really should do- the confessional proved it, and Kika is the only one giving him the opportunity to choose on his own.

I like watching El Rico y Lazaro too. It does move slow, but I appreciate the subplots, and they have really nice scenes and costumes. I really liked Moises y Los Diez Mandamientos too, that one had a lot of drama and they used it so well. The sets and costumes were good too. I did not really like La Tierra Prometida though. That one just felt flat.

So far I also like Sanson y Dalila but this novela is a short.

Cynthia, you are absolutely right about the details of El Rico y Lázaro, but I believe Jesus' parable does not specify any time period, so they placed it where they could continue their series in (somewhat) chronological order. The Ten Commandments, La Tierra Prometida, then El Rico y Lázaro. Next up is Samson and Delilah.

The only one I ever paid much attention to is El Rico y Lázaro for the side stories. If I want straight Biblical stories, I'll read the Bible. But eye candy, humor, and love stories, sure, I'll watch.

:-)

andy

Andy: That does not sound very chronological to me. Even though the parable from the NT does not specify a time period, the fact that it's something from the New Testament makes it out of order for me. Yes there is 1) 10 Commandments; 2) La Tierra Prometida, those two are chronological (wasn't that about the book of Joshua?). But if we go to Samson and Delilah, then that's going backwards to Judges, (which is right after Joshua).

Yes, the side stories are interesting and I love the costumes and everything. But I had to tell my uncle who is watching these too, that none of that drama is actually in scripture. ;)

Cynthia, you know your Bible! They occasionally will put a Biblical reference, chapter and verse, at the bottom of the screen when they are relating something actually written in the Bible.

It was mostly Jeremiah but most recently was Daniel 3:3.

All well and good, but I still mostly watch it to see Shamiran smile.

:-)

andy

Andy, thank you for the compliment. Yes, I do know the Bible very well and one day I would like to get a theology degree from a seminary. I know "Rico" has been mostly Jeremiah and he was the prophet that God appointed (as well as Ezekiel) during this same time period to warn the Jews about their coming judgement. So maybe now we will get what is going on in the book of Daniel. If you remember the beginning, he was trying to warn them but people were just getting angry with him. He was warning them because of their idolatry sins and worshipping false gods. But they were so angry they wanted to have him for lunch! Then it came true and now they are in Babylon until (I don't know if they will get this far) Persia overtakes Babylon and King Cyrus issues an edict in 539 BC for the Jews to return to Judea (Israel). I haven't seen a Biblical Spanish drama on the Northern Kingdom (10 tribes to north, who had the prophets Elijah and later Elisha warn them of their impending judgement.

Cynthia..go for it !!! Our son in law earned his MBA and was an investment banker for several yeaes. Then, he decided to get a master's in Theology. Go for it !!l
