Papa a Toda Madre, Capítulo 80, Friday May 11, 2018; Kika to the Rescue!
Flor is
performing her “psychic” act and gleefully tells everyone that the Cooperative
will be a grand success! And even Jorge starts to dance. Mau just looks over at
Jorge as though to say, “Hey dude, I didn’t know you could let loose like that!”
[Hey, this alone
was the most entertaining part of the night, getting to find out that Jorge has
some moves]
Valentina
is on her phone texting with “Dani” AKA Isauro, AKA Dulce’s skuzzy gangster
boyfriend. “Dani” tells her that it’s too bad he can’t go and meet her tomorrow
because early in the morning his family is taking a trip and so he will be
unavailable for a while. “I am dying to meet you. But how about now?” Dani
says. “Now?” says Valentina. “I just don’t know how I can get out without
anyone noticing. I’ll let you know if I
can go.” “Dani” says he will stand by and wait for her message. Meanwhile,
Dulce comes in and Isauro tells her that it will be soon that they will have
the money to get out of the country. Dulce says she is so tired of living in
this situation, AKA this dump.
Vero
tells Toño that he is being recommended for a new position in another
department. He says, “But who am I going to get to take care of my kids? I just
can’t get any nanny.” Then they decide that Grandma is the best idea in the
world because they can get her to come stay with them and the children will be
very happy.
Kika is
on the phone with Valentina and Val wants to know if she can come to meet her.
Kika says she will get a “Transportcity” ride and meet her over the favela—correction,
“La Privada”.
At Mau’s
house, Mau tells Maria she is rather quiet tonight. They start arguing a little
because of Maria’s sentiment that they are no longer together. Mau mentions
something about telling Ani, when Ani comes out wanting to know what the fight
is all about. She precociously tells them they are lying to her and gives them
a lecture of how adult behavior affects children. “If parents are sad, then the
children are sad. If the parents are angry, then the children are angry.
Caramba! You just don’t understand!” They both try to explain to her that adults
have different worries from children, but Ani just isn’t buying it. So then Mau
says he left some paperwork over at Nerón’s place and will be right back.
Kika
and Jorge are on the phone together. She says she will meet him later too, at
the favela—correction, “La Privada”.
Valentina
comes out looking for “Danny” out in the street outside “La Privada”. “Danny”
tells her to come alone. They hang up and Isauro calls his trafficker and says
everything is in place and lets him know where to find Val. Then Kika arrives and
Val calls her letting her know that she isn’t quite ready yet.
As Kika
walks into “La Privada”, she encounters Mauricio who wants to know what she doing
there. As they talk, she admits that “Georgie boy” is her new beau. Kika
explains that they are taking it slow, his family really doesn’t know and
neither do the neighbors. Mau says he will keep it quiet, but on one condition:
That they invite him to the wedding. That seems to make Kika very happy.
Meanwhile,
Renée is coming out with some garbage to throw away. “Oh look, it’s the
cachifa,“ says Kika. Kika looks at Renée with the two bags of garbage and says,
“Oh you separated it just like you are supposed to. You are such a good
example.” (Of course she is saying this very sarcastically.) But Renée strikes
back and says, “Well, compared to you Kika, whatever I do is a good example.”
Mau lets out an “Oooohhhh” as Renée got her shot in. “Hey, don’t take it
personally, but I come in peace,” says Kika. But if you want trouble, I’ll extend
my claws out at you.” Mau gets in between saying that Kika just came by to
visit old friends. Then Kika accuses of Renée of being jealous. “What me
jealous? Why would I be jealous?” says Renée. “Mauricio can see whoever he
wants to and it doesn’t matter to me one way or the other. If you want to be
with Maria because of Anifer, well that’s your decision.” It seems like Mau is
enjoying this discussion.
Out in
Los Angeles, Pablo goes to sit on a bench somewhere in the barrio where he
meets up with the same homeless man who says he had seen his father but now
sees another woman instead. They give each other a high five and the man offers
him a swig of his whiskey. Pretty soon an attractive woman walks by. The
homeless man says, “Look, it’s her! She’s the one who knows. It’s that woman, I’m
sure she knows your father. Go after her Pablo!” Pablo is a little confused,
but decides to run after her.
Back in
“La Privada” Renée continues arguing and taking shots at Kika. “On one day you
are here, the next thing you know, you are over at Logatoys,” says Renée. Mau
is surprised, “When were you over at Logatoys and why?” Kika is angry and didn’t
want that to be exposed. “It was a few days ago.” Says Renée. “I saw her there.
I don’t know whether she has something going with Fabian either.” Kika gets
angry and tells Renée to leave. “I have all the time in the world” says Renée.
But I already know your secret, Kika.”
Kika just glares at Renée as Mau tries to diffuse things. As the
argument continues, Kika backs off as her phone is ringing. Renée and Mau continue
their discussion in the background.
Valentina
is on the phone. Kika tells her she is waiting outside for her, but Val says
she is outside trying to find her friend Danny that she is supposed to meet.
Kika asks where she is and the name of the guy she is supposed to meet. Then Val
sends her a picture of him so she can see how cute he is. But somehow [Kika must have
superhero Wonder-woman type of investigative powers] Kika is able to
figure out that this picture isn’t for real, the person isn’t even Mexican and
really belongs to a model in Romania. Kika advises her to not go with anyone
who shows up. Just then an engine starts and headlights come onto Val’s face.
Kika gets very worried, tells Val to get out of there. Then she runs over to
where Mau and Renée are arguing and says, “You have to call the police.
Valentina is in a lot of danger!” Renée gets on her phone and calls Rodrigo
telling him they have an emergency. They all run to go find Valentina.
Isauro,
the abductor, finds Val and is trying forcibly take her, but Mau finds
them first and takes him on, throwing him against a vehicle. Then Super Kika
comes and hits the abductor over the head, causing him to drop his gun. Rod drives
up with his sirens blaring ready for action, but the abductor runs away. Val of
course is very frightened and cries in Kika’s arms. Kika tells her that she
really needs to be very careful. Rod comes by and tells Val that she needs to
confirm someone’s identity before she goes out to meet them. “There are so many
phony profiles on social media” says Rod. “Have you ever seen him before?” Val
says, “He looked kind of familiar, but I just don’t know where I might have
seen him.” Rod says she will have to go and file a police report tomorrow. “If
you figure out who he might be, please tell me,” says Rod. Val is very upset
and doesn’t want anyone to tell her father about what happened. Kika says, “I’m
sorry my love, but this is something your father definitely needs to know.”
Mau, Renée, and Rod all agree that her father needs to know. Val is afraid that
her dad is going to kill her. Kika promises that she will be there for her so
that they can tell her father together. Val thanks them all for their quick
action and knows that the worst would have happened if they hadn’t all shown up
to save her.
In Los
Angeles, Pablo finally catches up to this mystery woman. First she says, “Don’t
touch me!” She is obviously afraid that Pablo is about to assault her. But then
he explains who he is and says he is looking for his father.
Isauro,
still wiping his head from the gash he got from Kika, gets back to his lair,
AKA the dump, to call the trafficker that the plan fell through and she got
away. He is advised what an imbecile he is and now the contract off, he will
not be getting any money coming his way. He starts yelling at the guy on the
phone when Dulce walks in. She tells him to stop stressing because this is just
stressing her out too. She asks what happened with the deal that is supposed to
get them out of the country and he tells her it’s off. Dulce wants to know why.
After
the excitement is over, Mau, Renée and Kika get back to their discussion. Renée
wants to know what Kika is now doing with a nice lawyer who lives in, “a favela”.
Mau tells them to cool it, practice “peace and love.” Then Kika mentions about
the USB flash drive she has in her purse and wants to give it to Mau. But Mau
says he has to leave to check on Anifer. Kika says, “I would never have ever
believed that the love of Mau’s life would turn out to be Anifer.” Later, Kika
hands over the USB drive over to Mau who says he is going to take it to Toño
who can analyze what is on it. He advises Kika to be very careful with Fabian.
Kika then tells them about a Logatoys event coming up that Fabian has planned,
it’s supposed to be something very spectactular. Mau thanks her for the
information and Kika says, “It’s been a pleasure getting to play like I’m in
the KGB or CIA.” Then even Renée thanks Kika for all she did tonight.
At
Logatoys, Falcon and Fabian talk about Kika’s last visit and what she wanted
from Fabian’s computer. Falcon tells Fabian he should keep anything in his
laptop that might compromise him. But Fabian says, “Falcon, all that
compromising information is on YOUR computer, so no worries here.” So they go
on wondering what Kika’s angle was and if she is in business with Mau.
Melina
questions Pablo about how long he has been there and why he is looking for his
father. She seems somewhat uncomfortable listening to all this for some reason.
Pablo explains that his father is a great guy but for some reason stopped
communicating and stopped sending money. Melina looks extremely uncomfortable
and keeps looking around like she wants to get out of this conversation. Pablo says,
“I just want to know what happened with my father. Hey, do you know him? Do you
know what happened to him?” Melina says, “I know your father very well. Why are
you so distressed about this, Pablo? Is it because he hasn’t communicated with
you or is it because you think something terrible has happened to him?
Melina
explains to Pablo that his father was never into drugs or illegal activities—he
is not that kind of man. “So you should relax about that,” says Melina. Pablo
then asks, “Well maybe he didn’t come home because he had another family or
maybe he made another family with you.” She says it’s nothing like that at all,
but she doesn’t want to keep talking about him this way without asking if he
wants to see Pablo. Pablo says, “I just don’t understand why he wouldn’t want
to see me. Or at least just give me a hug. What is wrong?” Melina explains that
his father’s life changed radically and the life he once led is not the same
life he has today, a separate and distinct life that Pablo would not recognize.
Pablo gives her the address of the restaurant where he is working and tells her
to tell his father if he wants to see him, he can go there and find him.
Mau and
Renée continue talking and Mau is pretty sure that Fabian would not leave anything
important on his laptop. He is interested in going to this event because as he
tells Renée, “this is where he will probably introduce your robot.” They talk
some more and Renée tells Mau that maybe someday they can be just friends. This
is not what Mau wants to hear!
At
Isauro’s lair, AKA the dump where he is shacked up with Dulce, in the middle of
the night they are both sleeping. But Dulce gets up and decides to investigate
Isauro’s phone. She is shocked when she finds her daughter’s pictures in it.
The
next day, Mau and Toño start going over the contents of the USB drive. They find
photos and some really cute cat videos. Mau is surprised that Fabian likes to
watch cat videos. And they both start fawning over the different cat pictures.
[Oh come on, we
all do that.] Toño asks if Jorge is going to help. But Renée comes
in and says she will help too. She begins to look at the information but then she
tells Mau she would rather work alone. They talk/argue a little more and then
she gives him back the USB.
Jorge
and Kika are at a restaurant together. He is so into her and just hangs on to
every word she says. But then Kika gets serious and says, “We need to talk
about something else that’s important.” Then we see Falcon off to the side
spying on them. He is on the phone telling (most likely Fabian) “You will never
believe who is here having a romance together.”
At
Isauro’s dump, he wakes up that morning calling for Dulce, but she is not
there. He gets on his phone to call someone. Dulce is on the city street with
her suitcase in tow. She is thinking about all the things she said to Jorge
when she left him. She remembers that she told him the best birthday present
she could have is a divorce because she has another man. She remembers the last
time she talked to Valentina and told her she was going to New York. Dulce
seems to be regretful of leaving her old life behind. She make a phone call to
911 to report her boyfriend Isauro Biancanueves.
At
Jorge’s place, Kika sits with Valentina and asks Jorge to please be calm about
what they are going to tell him. Valentina then explains how she met a guy on
Facebook who turned out not to be a young boy, but someone who wanted to kidnap
her. Jorge is just floored! But Val tells him how she was rescued, everyone was
there for her, including Kika, Mau, Renée, and Rod. Jorge is still
flabbergasted telling Val, “In what world are you living in? We hear on the
news every day about girls getting stolen in the streets.” Val says, “I just
never imagined it would happen to me.” Jorge then tells her they are going to
the police to make a report. Val says to be happy that Kika saved her life.
At the
Logatoys office, Falcon and Fabian commiserate about what the heck Kika is up
with Jorge.
Jorge
and Val go the police and make the report. The officer asks if they have any
description of the man. Jorge says no, it was dark and he got away. But, they
do have the phone number that he contacted Val on and the Facebook profile that
he used. As Jorge signs the report, Kika takes Val aside and asks if she is
okay. Then Jorge say he wants her to send him a text every ½ hour to make sure
she is okay. He also does not want her to attend school for a few days. Kika
tries to tell Jorge that he can’t keep Val inside of a bubble either. Val pipes
up and says, “You know what? I am loving it that you look like a couple. It
just gives me a lot of good feelings.” Kika smiles and says, “You know what
time it is? It’s time to let everyone know that we are in love.” Kika moves in
to kiss Jorge while Val looks on approvingly.
At the
Cachetona shop, Nerón and Flor talk about what she wants to do in life. Flor
says she wants to study or do something important. Nerón made a smart remark
about, “What, like manicures?” Soon Nerón gets a message on his phone from
Pablo. “He says he is fine and that he will call soon.” Suddenly, Flor goes
into “psychic” mode and says, “I just had this feeling that Pablo already found
his father.”
Back in
Los Angeles, Melina goes to talk to Pablo and tells him his father is away on a
trip. She invites him to stay at her place because she knows that is what his father
would have her do. [I noticed how uncomfortable she was with all of this and even
wearing sunglasses to hide her face. Something is wrong. Would she be Pablo’s
father’s murderer? Or even weirder---no----did Pablo’s dad pull what Bruce
Jenner did? Did he find Bruce/Kaitlyn’s surgeon? Hmmmm….Just my random
thoughts..]
At Mau’s
place, Maria and Mau talk about what Fabian might be up to. Then she hits him
with her leaving and that she has set up a meeting in San Crispin. Mau tells
her that he is fine with Anifer staying to finish school. But Maria says no,
when she leaves, Anifer goes with her. She also tells him it hurts her too much
to continue living there, ostensibly because he does not love her.

I must agree with Jarifa, some of the storylines are evolving slowly, but I sure am glad Val’s predicament was quickly resolved. I wonder if she’ll ever remember who the man really is. KikaBoomBoom sure is outshining everyone. Wow, what a Wonder Woman to have some type of crystal ball or telepathic mind and figure out that “Danny” is actually a Romanian model…it took her what? Seconds?
Kirby, “Super Kika is a force to be reckoned with. She seems like a grownup and Renee seems like a precocious kid. A cornfuzed, precocious kid in funny clothes.” Totally agree! They’re like night and day! And…Susy, “ Who knew that the vengeful, flighty, free love bimbo in the tight dress and CFM heels was going to turn into the real strong woman in this tale instead of leading lady. That is a twist.” Amazing isn’t it? I’ve seen many characters turn from bad to good and vice versa, but this tops every one of them.
JudyB, “if she calls Renée "cachifa" one more time, I'm going to smack her.” My stomach turns whenever she uses that term, but I noticed she also used it when referring to Gladys when she was asking Fabián for the mimosa. So I’m thinking she uses it like some use “the help.”
Diana, “Since Maria is going to hold the threat of her leaving on Mau's head, just git and go girl.” I just can’t seem to figure out Maria. I know she has gone through some tough times, but she is waaay too bitter and cold. I really wouldn’t mind if she left and took Anifer with her. As Niecie perfectly stated: “I'm tired of the adultifying they've done to Anifer and her butting into the adults' love life -- and worse, those adult dummies not putting her in her place.” To think that they were going to cast Palomita in this role…I’m glad they didn’t because I would not be liking her very much anymore.
To all the mother’s---May you have a glorious day tomorrow and every day thereafter. I wish you many smiles and hugs filled with love, laughter and appreciation. Rest, relax and let the others do the chores...for at least one day :-)

Poor Pablo, however this turns out appears to not be as in his dream. Is this show telling us that dreams are like strawberries? They are great, but don't keep them around forever, or they get smelly?
There is a nugget of truth in that too.
Dulce turned the corner quickly, but no amount of remorse and ratting out her Lairmate atones for what she has done. If she tries for a tearful homecoming, I will buy popcorn and drinks for the whole patio as we watch WW Smackdown: SuperKika vs Duck Lips.

Thanks, Cynthia. Fabulous storytelling. I read your recap on one screen while I watched the highlights, cued by you, on another screen. ITA that Pablo's pop has done a Bruce Jenner.

I am another one happy that they did not drag out the attempted kidnapping of Val. I am a little disappointed that HotRod did not nab Isauro. He might have gotten a promotion out of it and a little extra in his paycheck to help him and El Wimpo with their adoption struggles.

I just love all the comments here, they are so interesting and revealing. Who knew Kirby was into squirrel porn? And I loved Doris' trying to convince us, not very convincingly, that she doesn't know much about cross dressing.

I am liking how they have stopped repeating the first 2-3 minutes of the show from the previous Capítulo and just are showing us new content. Less they have to cut that way.
Who knew that the vengeful, flighty, free love bimbo in the tight dress and CFM heels was going to turn into the real strong woman in this tale instead of leading lady. That is a twist.

I was surprised last night that Mau managed to intervene in the attempted kidnapping without breaking a nail. He just has not been all that menacing up till now.

I must agree with Jarifa, some of the storylines are evolving slowly, but I sure am glad Val’s predicament was quickly resolved. I wonder if she’ll ever remember who the man really is. KikaBoomBoom sure is outshining everyone. Wow, what a Wonder Woman to have some type of crystal ball or telepathic mind and figure out that “Danny” is actually a Romanian model…it took her what? Seconds?
Kirby, “Super Kika is a force to be reckoned with. She seems like a grownup and Renee seems like a precocious kid. A cornfuzed, precocious kid in funny clothes.” Totally agree! They’re like night and day! That is a twist.” Amazing isn’t it? I’ve seen many characters turn from bad to good and vice versa, but this tops every one of them.
JudyB, “if she calls Renée "cachifa" one more time, I'm going to smack her.” My stomach turns whenever she uses that term, but I noticed she also used it when referring to Gladys when she was asking Fabián for the mimosa. So I’m thinking she uses it like some use “the help.”
Diana, “Since Maria is going to hold the threat of her leaving on Mau's head, just git and go girl.” I just can’t seem to figure out Maria. I know she has gone through some tough times, but she is waaay too bitter and cold. I really wouldn’t mind if she left and took Anifer with her. As Niecie perfectly stated: “I'm tired of the adultifying they've done to Anifer and her butting into the adults' love life -- and worse, those adult dummies not putting her in her place.” To think that they were going to cast Palomita in this role…I’m glad they didn’t because I would not be liking her very much anymore.
To all the mother’s---May you have a glorious day tomorrow and every day thereafter. I wish you many smiles and hugs filled with love, laughter and appreciation. Rest, relax and let the others do the chores...for at least one day :-)
