Papá a toda madre Thurs. 5/3/18 Capítulo 75: Fabián: Around the Bend--OR--Renée: Out of Her League

Talking with Renée, Mauricio is finding it hard to believe that don Noél is still alive when he returned from the USA to go to his funeral. Even though he was a just a kid, he still remembers how painful don Noél's death was. How can he still be alive? Renée reminds Mauricio how she told him that Fabián was living with his uncle but then she recognized him as the man from the photo that her mother had given her. That man told her who he was. Mauricio asks her if he was at Fabián's house when Mauricio and María saw Renée. She says yes, he was there but hidden. She lied. Mauricio still cannot believe it.

In Verónica's office, Mr. Bustamante is insisting that she and Toño go out to dinner with him and the owner of the company. He is just dying to get to know Toño's wife. They need to cancel whatever they need to. Toño says he can make it but his wife is going to have to look after the kids since the nanny broke her back. Mr. Bustamante informs them that this is very important and he wants the two of them with their spouses at dinner tonight. He will not accept "no" as an answer. As he leaves, Verónica just hits her head on her desk. What to do? They have to get somebody to pose as their spouses, but who?

At home, Noél is accusing Fabián of being jealous and asking him to grow up already. Fabián says if he thinks it is just a matter of him growing up he has understood nothing. For years his father did what he wanted and he frightened him. He thought that Noél would soften with time but that never happened. Noél warns him that if Renée does not find him, she will call the police. Fabián says so what. He has been shut away for years hiding himself like the coward that he is. May the law save him! By the way, his father should not worry, he Fabián is a step ahead of his daughter and her boyfriend. He has a little surprise for his dear father. Today finally he will be free. Noél shrinks back in his chair and looks at his son with horror.

Jorge finds himself embroiled with Kika's father Arístides who make sit clear that he has no use for him. He wants to know how big of a check he needs to write to keep Jorge away from his daughter. Jorge is taken aback. He would never take advantage of a woman. He is a person of integrity with values. Ari wants to know what kind of values he could possibly have when he is hiding his relationship with Kika. Jorge wants the opportunity to explain and doesn't know why her father is so disrespectful to him. Ari is only there to convince Kika to come back to Miami with them. He tells Jorge that he really does not know Kika. He goes on to describe her and how flighty she is. It is just her nature. She just goes from one thing to another and now it is whatever whim she has for Jorge. Jorge doesn't see it as a "whim". Whatever the situation, Jorge wants to keep seeing his daughter. Ari repeats "wants to" and asks if that is the case, then why he is hiding their relationship.

Mauricio is still with Renée asking if she thought it was a good idea not to tell him what was going on. Renée says that was never her intent. It was just that Noél didn't want anyone to know he was alive least of all Mauricio. Mauricio rejects that idea. The Noél he knew was creative, intelligent, strong, almost a genius. Why would a man like that want to be thought dead, especially with him? It just does not make sense. He loved Mauricio the same no, more than his own father did. Well, it does not make sense to Renée either but he did keep himself hidden all of these years. Could it be that Fabián kept him locked up? Renée does not know. Why would he? Mauricio says maybe to live with his father. When Mauricio's mother died and Mauricio was sent away to boarding school he was so angry with his father he did not want to see him even at vacation time. Mauricio's dad practically raised Fabián like a son. He was like Mauricio's brother. Fabián always said he wished that Fabián's father was his. Mauricio took it as a joke. Mauricio still cannot believe it and wants to go see him now. Renée tells him it is not that easy with Fabián complicating things. They decide to go anyway and talk about what to do on the way.

Kika is addressing Charytín and her mother and is not happy. She accuses them of keeping her occupied. They agree but that they are doing it for her own good. Kika will not allow her father to separate her from her beautiful Jorge. They jump up to prevent her from leaving saying it was Jorge who went looking for her father. Kika is worried.

At Logatoys, Fabián is talking to the production team about the new toy. It is an ambitious project. He has dedicated a lot of time to it. Falcón agrees that it is impressive and that it has gone far beyond being a simple toy. Fabián agrees that it not just any toy. Fabián goes through his presentation. In addition to being able to be played with it is a companion, it is also a friend, a mother, a teacher, basically the perfect nanny. Falcón is concerned about the cost to produce something like that. He is interested in simplifying it a bit. That does not fly with Fabián. He wants the team to follow his design exactly. Fabián doesn't want Falcón working against him. Falcón explains that they do not have the funds to invest in such an expenditure. It is incredible but he can see it as causing the ruin of Logatoys just like Mauricio's overly ambitious projects did. Fabián sees no comparison. Mauricio's designs were poorly created and senseless. This is going to be an investment every father who has already spent thousands on tablets, childcare, internet, private classes . . .will want for his children. Falcón insists that he gets it. It sounds very promising but how are they going to make a prototype? With what money? Fabián sees him as stuck in his numbers. He needs to have "vision". Thanks to this robot and Fabián himself, Logatoys is on its way!

Jorge is now seated with Ari at a table in a bar. Jorge is explaining about his house full of adolescents and how difficult it is. He does not want to involve her before it is time to. Ari knows how hard that is having had to deal with his own daughters. In spite of that, he does not find that enough of a reason to have a clandestine relationship. Jorge talks again about his four adolescents and how rebellious and impressionable they are. He just does not want to involve Kika before the right moment. Right now she is a good friend to them and a good influence on them even the boys. Ari reminds him that he is a father, too, and knows how a parent always wants to protect his children. Ari admits that he just had to find out more about Jorge and who he was. Jorge understands. Jorge asks what does he need from him to show him that his intentions with Kika are honorable. Ari wants Jorge to formalize his relationship with his daughter so everybody knows about it especially her. Ari also has one more thing to ask Jorge. He needs Jorge to help get Kika to forgive him. Jorge nods in agreement.

Renée and Mauricio arrive at Fabian's house. Mauricio insists on climbing the fence so not to be bested by María or Renée. He grabs a live electrical wire just above the fence and is thrown back on the pavement from the shock. Renée rushes to him to see how he is. He says he is" well-fried" but okay. He points out that they electrified the fence like in a concentration camp. Renée insists that they should use the front door like civilized people. She helps him to his feet and rings the bell at the gate. It soon becomes clear that Mauricio still does not believe Renée. She says that Fabián did not let her see Noél and he was very suspicious of her. Mauricio asks what can they do? She says the police will have to get involved. Mauricio thinks that she might have made a mistake about the old man living with Fabián. . . Renée is not happy with his continuing disbelief. He finally "says" he believes her but if they are going to involve the police they need to talk about "papá Noél" to Rodrigo who is a friend. He goes to call Rodrigo while Renée is left knowing that he still does not believe her.

Rafael and Rodrigo are back at the adoption agency all pleased with themselves that they have very single form filled out. The employee looks through them all and everything is there. The next step is a home visit by a representative from the agency. The guys are ready. She suggests that they both plan to be home the day of the inspection. They want to be sure that a boy or girl can live decently in their home.

At Nerón's house, he is worried about who can come to stay with Flor because he has to leave. He asked Lili but she never showed up. Renée is not around should he ask María? Flor tells him not to exaggerate the situation. She is okay right there. She misses Pablo because they were most used to each other. Nerón hopes that he can get across the border without any problems. Something is telling Flor that he is going to be able to find his dad. Nerón is thinking it might not be too hard working with the Guatemalan community. There is one thing that Flor forgot to tell Pablo: he is probably going to find that his father has changed. Nerón asks if she will be fine while he goes to the tire shop. She insists she will be fine at home and will call a neighbor if she needs something. He will be back in a flash. She tells him to check the scratch off lottery ticket that he said he bought. She has a feeling from that sixth sense of hers that she is developing. . . is telling her that he is going to win a little bit of money. She also tells him not to call her "Floresota" anymore. She wants to be called "Florvidente" (Flor the fortune teller). He laughs as he says goodbye to "Florvidente". She tells him not to be a non-believer and that he is going to learn to believe.

Out in the desert, Pablo is asking questions about when they are going to cross. The smuggler is not too pleased to hear any questions and is not too specific with any answers. He will let them know when and were they are going to cross. They all march on. Pablo is not too confident in the present situation.

Kika and Jorge are out at dinner. Jorge mentions that her dad said something about her being very angry with him. He tells her that resentment is a very bad thing. She brings up the whole don Bosco thing and how her father lied about him and played the victim when he was being despicable to don Bosco. Jorge reminds her about how long ago that all happened. She was just a little girl, barely an adolescent. She confesses to Jorge that when she was a little girl her father was her role model but then when he went to jail everything changed. She some how had to become the man of the house, in charge of everything and the strongest to support her sister and her mother who was devastated. For years, she was plotting how to pay her father back for those five years that her father said he spent "unjustly" in jail. Yes, it was about revenge back then and looked nothing like she does now. She was fat like a hot air balloon. She did everything necessary to make herself into the beautiful package he sees in front of him right now. Jorge thinks that the most important thing is that she fixes the situation for her own health. Kika says he father never found out any of this because she had to become very hard with everyone. What really pushed her over the edge is when she found out that her father had lied. That is why she is so angry and hurt. Jorge tells her that the most important thing is that Jorge heard all of that right from her mouth. Kika looks confused. Jorge informs her that her father has been seated behind them and has heard everything she has said. Kika's dad is standing behind her. He asks her to forgive him. Kika is angry and tells them she will kill them both.

Rodrigo, along with another officer, has joined Mauricio and Renée outside of the gate. He tells them he understands perfectly the situation but they cannot do anything without a court order. Renée repeats that a man is being kept prisoner locked away there. Rodrigo suggests that they just continue asking, calling, etc. Fabián about it. Mauricio says good luck with that because all that Fabián does is lie. Speaking of the devil, Fabián rolls up in his car. Rodrigo addresses him. Mauricio states that they are there to see his father. Fabián does not know what he is talking about because his father is dead. Renée says of course he is alive. He is an old man who cannot move very well and has been locked up. Falcón gets out of the car and says that Renée must be talking about Fabián's uncle. Fabián agrees. His uncle has been living with him for some time and it is true he can hardly move. Fabián asks if they want to come in and see him.

Nerón is at the tire shop talking to his worker. He decides to check his lottery ticket like Flor told him to do. He scratches off the ticket and it looks like it is a winner just like Flor predicted. It is only for a thousand pesos but can his Flor tell the future?

Everyone is now inside Fabián's home. He offers them refreshments. Rodrigo says that it is probably best for him to just bring his uncle out so they can get to the bottom of this. Renée insists it is not his "uncle" but his father. After Renée makes that comment, Fabián offers her some tequila saying that she must be having visions from her liking to get drunk. Mauricio tells him that is enough. Next Fabián mentions about Renée having come over the wall and then him having to get it electrified. He goes for his uncle. Rodrigo informs Renée that going over the wall is a crime. She answers yes but . . . Falcón interrupts saying all she had to do was knock at the door. Surprise! When Fabián rolls out an old man hooded in a wheel chair, it is not Noél.

The conversation continues in the restaurant with Kika telling her father how she feels that he dragged the name of a good man through the mud and what really angers her is that he lied to her mother sister and her. Ari says that he has already apologized. Jorge tells her that since her father seems to be truly sorry, now is maybe the time to forgive him. Ari asks her to let the past be the past. She just can't. She was a little girl who idolized him. He went to jail and left her responsible for the whole mess. Ari asks what could have he done being in jail. Kika continues to talk about growing up all alone and not having the father she missed so much and the father figure she needed. Her father tells her she doesn't know how sorry he is and he tried to do what he could. His love for her is enormous. He adores her. Kika says he was always the greatest for her. Ari adds that she was the greatest and still is for him. She started her own business through her own effort. She is beautiful and is kind. He is very prod of her. He begs her again to forgive him. She says "Papi" and he hugs her. Jorge comments that the most important thing that we have is family. Kika's dad thanks Jorge for his assistance and says now Jorge has only one more thing to do ASAP. Kika is curious what that is all about. Nobody is not talking.

Renée is telling them all that this is not the man that she talked to when she was there earlier. It is not don Noél. Fabián says of course not. His father has been dead for a good long time. Rodrigo announces it is time to go. Renée now wants to search the house. They just cannot leave like that. Fabián understands how the lack of a father figure can be traumatic and that is what is driving Renée, but this is simply too much. Has she seen a doctor? Renée asks if he is calling her crazy. Rodolfo finally asks if his partner can look around the house. Fabián agrees and sends Falcón with him. Renée asks Fabián what he did. Fabián asks "Who me?"

María and Anifer are working at the table. Anifer is wondering when Mauricio will be home. María says he is busy working on the cooperative so it will be late. Anifer wants to go to the playground. María asks if it is the one with swings. No it is another one that is farther and that has an ice rink. Her father is going to teach her how to skate. She asks if her mother knows how to skate. María says no they don't do such "city things" to have fun back in their town. Anifer asks before she was born how much she loved her biological father. Did she love him the same amount as her father Mauricio or more? María wonders where all of this is coming from. Anifer says if she doesn't remember, it does not matter.

Back in the desert, Pablo and his companions are being instructed on what todo if the border patrol appears when the border patrol does show up on a road running along the border on the USA side. Pablo and the others run for cover in a hole as they hear the siren on the vehicle.

Lili is at home with the other kids. She is looking at her phone saying that Pablo must have crossed over the border by now. She hopes nothing bad has happened to him. Valentina is busy texting with Danny on her phone wanting to Face Time with him. Jorge arrives and gives Lili and Baldo the deposit slip of the first payment he made to return the inheritance to them. It is set up in an account where that he cannot touch the money without their permission.

Back at the gazebo, Rodrigo is lecturing Renée about what they can and cannot do. He does not doubt about what Renée is saying but Fabián could hurt him by filing charges against him for going to his house and treating him as a suspect. Rodrigo believes her but he would have to ask her for some kind of proof before showing up at his house. Things have to be done the right way. Renée says she never wanted to cause him any problems. She just wanted to make sure that don Noél was okay because she swears that she saw him. With nothing else to say or do, Rodrigo leaves. Renée is left with Mauricio who even after hearing Renée and knowing how Fabián is, still cannot really believe her because he was at don Noél's burial with everybody else.. Renée is clearly deflated after the whole experience and everyone's reactions. She apologizes for the bad time she put Mauricio through.

Fabián and Falcón are destressing with a drink. Fabián asks if has paid the old guy. Falcón says he has and that he will stay there a few days. That is fine by Fabián. Falcón asks where his father is. Falcón asks if he now wants to see his father. Fabián cannot believe how popular his father has become lately.

Toño and Verónica are talking about work and how they have to keep their marriage a secret and what to do about the dinner invitation. Verónica thinks that she has the perfect "wife" for Toño.

Kika's father in front of the whole family tells Kika that even though Jorge is not the man he would have chosen for her, there is no doubt that he is a good man. Kika is all smiles. Her father is only going to warn her about the same thing he warned her about with Mauricio: that a man will always put his children first. Kika understands but they are not little children and soon will be adults and leaving the nest. They all say goodbye. There is a knock at the door that breaks Kiki's happy mood. It is Fabián bringing her the brief he said he would. He is also informing her of the event they are preparing to convince her to invest thousands in Logatoys. She will be getting an invitations but now he has another kind of invitation. It is soon apparent that Fabián wants to ply her with champagne and get her under the sheets as he grabs her by the waist. She pushes him back and tells him she has a business appointment and leaves him thinking he may be lucky another day. He tells her not to forget about the brief. She manages to push him out of the room with a smile and after a quick glance, wonders what is in the brief, and leaves it on the table.

Verónica goes to see Renée to ask a favor that might improve Verónica's situation as Toño is trying to convince Mauricio to play Verónica's husband at the dinner. Toño tries to make a reluctant Mauricio believe that he is his last hope. Mauricio wonders what he will tell Marîa. Toño reminds him he is a man after all. María walks in and Mauricio makes up a story about having to go to a business meeting about the cooperative with Toño. She has no problem with him going. When she leaves, Toño compliments him saying he played it well. . . just like a man. Mauricio enjoys the flattery.

Everyone is at the business dinner as Verónica and Toño awkwardly introduce their respective "spouses." The owner's wife thinks Verónica's husband is a good looking guy (not as good looking as her hubby) and if she would have known that is how he was she would have moved up the date of the dinner. Bustamante's wife thinks Verónica's husband looks like he belongs in the novelas. She tells Verónica to take a look at what she has to see every night and she isn't even getting a salary like Verónica. The owner asks if they have kids and suddenly there is a problem: nobody can get their story straight. Toño says he has children but Renée says they don't which causes him to explain that sometimes he wishes they weren't real which does not go over well with the owner who has always thought of children as a blessing."Annoying but a blessing" is the best that Toño can come up with. Renée backs Toño up and says yes, they have children even though as of late they have not been able to see them as much as they would like, especially her daughter. She turns to Mauricio and says she does not understand why her father would prefer to keep her daughter away from her. Mauricio counters with saying that sometimes one has to think about their priorities in life. Bustamante wonders what Mauricio is talking about. Mauricio says nothing at all but then launches into talking about love, life, relationships, people going to Maryland for a graduate degree and a guy up there. Finally, Bustamante announces it is time to order. Everyone grabs the menus as fast as they can.

It is supper time at Jorge's house and they are all around the table except for Lili who is on the couch watching TV. Jorge asks Lili join them because he has an important announcement to make. He starts droning on about adult men like himself being separated for a while now. . . blah blah blah . . . while Valentina is texting with Danny. They are planning to do a live chat on Facebook. Jorge is interrupted by a special report appearing on TV warning the public about man named Isauro Ventura whose alias is Snow White. They show his photo. He is considered a dangerous person. His lawyer presented an appeal on his behalf. The lawyer disavows knowledge of the whereabouts of the accused. Jorge is quickly on his feet watching very closely. Samuel recognizes him as the man that his mother defended. Samuel starts talking about missing his mother. Valentina asks what Jorge wanted to tell them. Clearly disturbed by what he just saw, Jorge turns off the TV and says it was nothing important.

Back at the dinner, Renée is talking about women having the right to live their own lives, study, and work even though she knows that not every man agrees with her. Toño wants to change the topic to something much lighter and entertaining like the world macro economy or mine and bridge engineering . . . It is evident that Renée's comments were clearly directed at Mauricio who feels like he has to answer. He understands her but modern men are in a doubly difficult position. Not only do they have to provide for the family they also have to be an affectionate father and accept that women have the time to to be themselves, become independent, develop themselves . . . . . . That is going no where fast with Renée who insists that women have always had it a lot harder. They are quickly talking over each other and at each other's throats. Toño and Verónica quickly grab Renée and Mauricio and shut them up by kissing them on the mouth. Bustamante happily proclaims "Love." Toño and Verónica remark that they both just love when their spouses get arguing with each other. Renée and Mauricio excuse themselves to use the restrooms. Verónica thinks they should talk about something else . . . like the company. Toño agrees. She moves next to Toño who cannot lay the flattery on thick enough on the owner of the company telling him about how happy they are to be working at their company.

Out of earshot of the other diners, Renée and Mauricio are still at it. He is just not happy about their breakup, that's all. He apologizes. She says she started it. She knows it is difficult for him believe her about don Noél but if he does not believe her, who will. He should give her the benefit of the doubt. He knows her by now. He says she just doesn't know how it is for him but finally says if she says he is alive, then he is. Mauricio asks where can they look for him if he is not at Fabián's house. Renée does not know but they have to find him and proof against Fsbián. Renée tells Mauricio not to get so close. He is getting too close and they can be seen. She reminds him that he is in a relationship and she is married as she holds up her hand with the Barrientos wedding ring. They keep chatting and teasing as they get closer and closer.

Back at the table the owner says he heard all about their presentation and he congratulates them. He can see that Verónica and Toño make a great team. It seems like they have known each other all of their lives. It must be destiny. The owner adds that he expects great things from them and he has authorized bonuses for them already based on future sales. Verónica and Toño grab each other's hand behind the chair. The owner assures them this is no small thing. He hopes that each of them will get enough to put down a good down payment on a house.

Loved “Florvidente” and the command performance dinner.

More later.

Jarifa, you're up late! Thanks for doing this recap, I was surprised to see it.

To echo you, "more later," and I will just say that I hope Vero does not have another glass of wine or all bets are off.

:-)

Clever title Jarifa. And speaking of clever, looks like Fabian is anticipating Renee's every move. And also looks like comedy has returned with the merry-go-round of counterfeit spouses and conflicting stories.

Speaking of...when we were reminiscing about shows that REALLY were comedies, someone mentioned La Fea Mas Bella. That was my first full show but I do remember during the very painful episodes concerning Leti's quinceanera, one of the recappers (Julie I think) said "I thought this was going to be a comedy!"

We were all reeling, the scenes were so cruelly humiliating and difficult to watch. Of course love triumphed in the end, but it was a hard slog in the middle.

Thanks again Jarifa. You and Andy Banda were up very late. So what's up with you two?

Jarifa, you burned the midnight oil with delightful results. Fantastic title!

Friday and a Jarifa recap. What could be better?

"well-fried" but okay" and "Toño wants to change the topic to something much lighter and entertaining like the world macro economy or mine and bride engineering" were wonderful.

"command performance dinner" was perfect. Although having Mau and Renee play the "spouses" should have been the obvious choice, it wasn't mine. I still say Flor and Jorge would have really shaken things up. It had its moments but the bickering between the exes (Mau and Renee) was a bit disappointing.

"Pablo is not too confident in the present situation". No, neither are we!

We've been wondering when (not if) Lupe was going to return and now we see the foreshadowing. Will she be arrested as an accomplice or return home hanging her head in shame??? We know this needs to be resolved in order to Jorge and Kika to move forward, but I am not looking forward to how this happens. Perhaps it's best it occurred before Jorge spilled the secret.

"Toño compliments him saying he played it well. . . just like a man. Mauricio enjoys the attention". Yup, Mauricio has a healthy dose of ego. No doubt.

I don't like that Mau didn't believe Renee about Noel. Trust is a big component of any relationship and is clearly lacking here.

I suspect Rod and Raf can fill out all the paperwork perfectly and have Home and Garden approval of their abode but there is no way in hell they are going to be approved for adoption.

Looks like tonight is pivotal.

Jarifa, again, so far superior to the actual episode. Thank you!

Diana

Jarifa ! Oh Boy ! Thank you soo muchoooo.

So immediately after Arid and George come to terms, Dulce's (Former) boyfriend is unaccounted for and on the loose. Probably sans Dulce so is there a tearful homecoming in the works?

Oh Boy. Hopefully he bought her some add-ons and when she gets back she and Kika can have a boob-off to win the prize Jorgey Boy.

OK I hope Pablo gets caught and thrown in some stinky jail with 50 other criminals. The road to hell is paved with good intentions. Like "Oh, I DID rob the bank, but I wanted to give the money to the homeless shelter." OK

Oh, WAIT, what? Are R&R at it again? Oh shoot, I miss most of their stuff because I'm in the kitchen grazing when they are on.

This show is wearing on my patience.

Happy Friday

Wow..thank you, Jarifa, for that detailed recap.

To tell you tbe truth, I am surprised that kiki's dad is such an overprotective fatber because she seemed To have been a free spirit out on her own for awhile and only settled on Jorge after first test driving Maury and Fab.

I have to admit that Tono makes me smile at times.

Thanks for stopping on by the patio, everyone. It is much cooler and looking very grey out there today. May your Friday be a good one!

Andy, Vero sure was on a roll, wasn't she? I loved the kiss to shut Renée and Mauricio up. Clever.

JudyB, guess Andy and I are both nighthawks. Who knew?

Diana, there was a typo: it should have been "bridges" not brides. Yes, Mauricio and his ego: he just turns into a puppy whenever somebody pats him on the head.

Kirby, those ducks definitely have more energy than me today. Another beautiful photo. Staying in the aquatic frame of reference, It seems like we have been treading water for a while with this show.. We need some action like now!

Susanlynn, Toño has redeemed himself for me ever since he stepped up and took the blame for Verónica rather than hanging her out to dry. He seems to have learned his lesson so I am finding him funny now, too.

Synchronized flying??? Incredible Kirby.

"Staying in the aquatic frame of reference, It seems like we have been treading water for a while with this show.. We need some action like now!" OMG. So true Jarifa!!!

Oh, and I meant to mention my favorite of the night was Vero feeling Mau's muscle with an "ooohh" and huge eyes, followed by her grabbing him and kissing him. I thought I saw him trying to stifle a smile. I always enjoy it when the actors seem to be having fun.

Susanlynn, yes, Tono makes me smile too. Remember him and Laisha in Gancho??? What a hot couple. Many of the same cast here!

Diana

Thank you for your recap, Jarifa! A lot happened in this episode.

Somehow the "fake spouses" thing has got to blow up in their faces. Then maybe Vero & Toño will team up together in their own business, like selling Amway or STTE?

I'm just so over Fabian. And Maria.

That sweater Jorge wears must be a really fine merino. It's so thin. Don't know why I Noticed that last night.........?

Ugh....two funerals this weekend, both in their 50s, younger than I am. One is a neighbor that died in a private plane crash in TX last week (son on the ground saw it happen, and his youngest child graduates from high school this month .... so tragic), and the other from an illness. We just never know what is going to happen. And I had a close call yesterday with some idiot who was drifting into my lane and into my side of the car on the interstate. 😳 I hit the horn just in time. Ugh... I always tell my hubby, our son, and our granddaughter how much I love them. Never know when it might be the last time I see either of them.p, or they see me. Okay.... enough with that.

Jarifa: Has law enforcement figured out Fabian's crimes against humanity yet ?

Diana, I did not watch Gancho, but I remember Carlos talking about it . He was a fan OF Laisha's !

Doris, I have trouble going to funerals. We are all walking down the same road. Best to tell people that we love and appreciate them every day. I just hugged the two granddaughters before hub walked them up to the bus stop. I always say "love you forever...make good decisions...have a good day!!,"

Doris, attending funerals or visiting nursing homes during the time up to the funeral is heartbreaking. And even more so when these friends and loved ones are significantly younger. Very clear to most of us by now that we are sitting in God's little waiting room and our number could be called any time. That's why I start the day with," Wow, a new day. I've never seen this day before. It's going to be a great day. It IS a great day! " Carpe diem.

I'm sorry for your losses doris. Will say a prayer. 50's seems far too young. And equal painful for the grieving families left behind.

"We just never know what is going to happen". Wise words. It's so important to never leave a person or conversation with angry words. Once uttered, they can't be taken back and there may be no second chance to apologize. Reconcile whenever possible. Susanlynn, I have no doubt you are always positive and uplifting.

doris, I'm glad you are safe.

Diana

"God's little waiting room". Perfect Judy.

Diana

That phrase came from a comedian, Diana, believe it or not. I'd credit him but I don't remember his name at the moment! It will come to me in a few hours. Sigh.

Driving a motorcycle a lot here in FloriDuh, I have discovered that the steering and brakes are far more effective than tbe horn. If some deaf old fool is trying to klll me I get out of the way.

Wow...the patio is "woke" this morning. So much sage advice ...tell people you love them, be positive , and use your steering and brakes if some rest old cool is trying to kill you.

Judy...I think that there is a British show on PBS called ",God,s Waiting Room."

P.s. At the Outlander forum that I also frequent there was a discussion last night and this morning about whether or not the sex scenes were too grapbic... Guess how I voted.

'Waiting For God' on PBS

Thanks, Jarifa. Fab title and storytelling. Last night's was the best episode in a while and you ran with it.

I shouldn't be but I'm shocked that Fabian did a switcheroo with his old man.

Yay, Lupe will return. How in the world will she justify what she's been up to.

Doris, I'm glad you're okay. CarayCaray is a great place to escape to. We must laugh every day, while we can, when we can.

I see Diablo is up to her old tricks. :=)

Hey... "Rest old cool" how did you like that autocorrect kirby?

I did not proofread ...the waffles were ready.

I knew what you meant, I assume AutoWretch changes Dulce to Lupe too?

Btw, Kika’s backstory was very interesting. She is becoming a much more interesting character than her initial “sex pot” portrayal. I just wonder what she is going to do with Fabian and his business offer.

Kika has turned out to be a a sharp, caring young woman who is on top of it, (including Jorge) in a deliciously deceptive package.

I was encouraged by Fartian's continued carnal interest in her, as that might be his Achilles Heel.

And, ya know if Renee is a Genius, as Fartian surmised after ;looking at a sketch for a toy. why, oh why, didn't she get a secret picture of her PopNoel with that ever present cell phone, or at the least, leave it recording audio in her pocket.?

AAarrrrggghhh these people.

If it fit the script, it would be a no brainer in a different TN.

And do you climb a security fence, and clutch a new, obviously INSULATED wire atop? Even a squirrel knows better.

Lupe is the doctor, Renee's petty childhood friend/ex. Dulce is Jorge's ex. She'll probably justify abandoning the home by claiming the Blanca Nieves guy had her threatened the entire time, and that's why she couldn't contact Sammy or Valentina. If she comes crawling back, I expect things to get bad for the twins in that household. Also, was Kika's dad foreshadowing that Jorge may dump her for Dulce because of Sammy and Valentina? Jorge better not do something stupid.

Did Fabian fake his death because he's actually wanted by the police? It seems like too much hiding for no real reason.

How do you tell a seven year old that there was no love between her parents, and that she was actually a product of a casual encounter? Maria wasn't even able to lie to her. I'm tired of hearing her compare the country life to the city. Judging from last night's preview, Maria is petty and Anifer is her pawn.

Maia

Fabian's father, I mean.

GM, everyone!

Jarifa, thanks again. I was a tired and confused nighthawk last night, and was expecting an Alfredo recap after looking at the schedule on the side tab. We are so lucky to have you recappers, and I often read a recap and think "Oh! That's what they were talking about!"

I loved the dinner party! It was a great contrast to some of the less pleasant threads of this TN. I am a bit worried about Vero, I think she is a bit tired and drinking too much. She was hilarious feeling Mau's arm, but I'm concerned she will put her foot in her mouth, and I don't want to see her and Toño in financial trouble again after being so warmly celebrated by their boss.

And I hope nothing bad happens to Pablo, I don't want to see him become a PSA about the dangers of trying to crash the border. It's such a shame that the economies of some of our neighbor countries don't provide a decent living for all their citizens. And a shame that this country is such a huge market for illegal drugs, driving much of the lawlessness in other countries.

Sheesh, I'm such a wet blanket today, yet I complain about this TN being less pollyannish than I expected. Go figure.

Kika seems to be smarter than the whole cumulative testosterone crowd combined, I am looking forward to her snaring Fabian in his own net.

If she has to take one for the team, well, that's the price you sometimes have to pay to do the right thing. :-) :-)

Well, just in case we did not get the message of this telenovela, Renee and Maury gave us a review as they squabbled at dinner with strangers ...changing times, changing families, changing roles for males and females, strong women, confused men...I

Hmmm...Dulce and Snow White...Will there be seven dwarves?

Question...Does Maury now need Maria's permission to go out of his house ?

In this show he needs a woman's permission to wipe his ....a...brow.

God day, PAtio Peeps!

OMGoodness the patio is blazin' today. WOW!! Jarifa, great job on retelling last night's events. Ad glad Alfredo got a break...it seems he is a very busy man; yet he finds the time to grace us with 2 recaps pre week (normally).

Attempts at bringing back comedy were good, but I agree with Diana...Flor and Neron would have been my choice to pair up with Tonto and Vero. I did like Vero's reaction to Mau's muscle though and the obvious jealousy between her and Tonto. How could the bosses not notice the misfitted couples. I was also glad to see that Mau and Renee are communicating again.

I'm still not crazy about Tonto. He did gain lots of points when he took the fall for Vero, but those points came out of Vero's stash. I wasirked that she didn't step up and tell the truth. After all, she is the boss and a boss is accountable for everything that goes on in the office. The fact that she allowed one of her "subordinates" to take the fall for her did not fare well with me. I also didn't care for her not speaking up about Tono's part in developing the presentation--give credit where credit is due. BUT I'm over that and glad they are back together...for the kid's sake.

Loved the Kiki/Aris reconciliation. Jorge can be such a sweetheart at times. Now if only he'd be consistent. I think most of were expecting DUlce to return, but I didn;t see why Jorge would have to put off telling the kids about Kika just because fo the news flash.

Doris, sorry about your losses. It is so sad to see those around us leave us, but at least they are at peace and they will always watch over the loved ones they left behind...more angels to protect and pray for us.

Kirby, careful on that motorbike; there's lots of crazies out there.

More laters...

"And a shame that this country is such a huge market for illegal drugs, driving much of the lawlessness in other countries.".
This. A sad truth.

"That's why I start the day with, ' Wow, a new day. I've never seen this day before. It's going to be a great day. It IS a great day!'"
I love this, JudyB! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Kirby - ITA with getting out of the way. I was sandwiched in three lanes going 70mph, so I slowed down enough the stay behind that idiot, and witnessed him cross over the line into my lane two more times before he stopped doing whatever was distracting him. 🙄

Uhmmm God Day is perfect ..but also wanted to say Good Day! Can you tell I was trying to write quickly? :-)

Doris, our older daughter used to live in Manhatten, and on the way home , we were in that center lane , and the woman in the car ahead of us just slowed down suddenly and almost stopped. It is a miracle that hub was able to stop and that the car behind us did , too. Our highways and traffic are becoming scarier and scarier around here.I had an accident when I was 16 ,and I was thrown out of the car onto the shoulder. I have been a reluctant driver ever since. So glad that you were able to avoid an accident.

Doris...that quote was from a book called Radical Remission about people dealing with cancer and how they achieved remission through radical changes in diet, exercise and attitude.

Whether those changes helped or it was a "miracle" who knows? but I believe in preventive health maintenance whenever possible. I've never been diagnosed with cancer or anything other than allergies, but I visit people weekly who are very ill and so I'm focused on these issues always.

Judy...I have underlined many lines in a book entitled Rapid Relief from Emotional Distress. One tip is to say to yourself in trying times , "So what?...keep going !," Sometimes that is all you can do . It is what it is. You have to keep on keeping on !

Oooooh, I like that one too Susanlynn. And it's simple. SO WHAT? kEEP GOING!....I like it and I know I'm going to need it!

Love love love this Patio. And so glad we're allowed to go off topic.

OT: Love that we can be off topic too. My grown up life in big cities taught me to avoid that center lane as there is no escape route. Arrrggghhhh.

Then moved where it doesn't snow and bought a 4 wheel drive truck. ????

" And so glad we're allowed to go off topic."

Wonder how much longer before somebody discovers that SusanLynn and I have the hall monitors locked in the returned books bin.

:-)

BTW the Avatar is 'Poultry In Motion'.

Roast duck is delicious! LOL

'Poultry In Motion'.

You. Went. There. :)

No place like the Patty Oh🐵

Well, it is interesting to see what the little animal crackers posted from my phone look like on the desktop.
Blogger likes pigs and monkeys but chickens are nogo.

Kirby, the chicken looks just fine to me.

Monitors locked in the book bin?? Must be a BIG book bin! Pass the Doritos, please :-)

doris and Maia, María seems to become just more shallow as we go on.

Andy, we just love to keep you guessing on the blog. : )

RgvChck, it looked to me that Jorge just used the news flash as an excuse in his own head not to tell the kids about Kika.

Niecie, I felt the same as you that last night was the best episode in a while. I got a few good laughs with the dinner party and “Florvidente”.

"Kirby, the chicken looks just fine to me."

You're just hungry.

Kirby....We bad. Break out the Doritos. Judy and I have been here at caray since before it was caray , and we always went off topic back in the day. More fun .😁😈😉

I drop in on some of those gestapo patios once in a while and am, "Yikes, I better keep my muzzle SHUT here !"

And come slinking back to where I know I am safe. :-)

Surprised you menfolk haven't commented but to me the funniest scene was little Mi Lady rummaging in Florvidente's cleavage. The actress would grab her hand and take it away, but as soon as she released the hand, baby would start determinedly groping again. She and the actor playing Neron managed to keep a straight face, more or less.

JudyB - Milady was probably hungry. 😊

Judy I had actually forgotten about that until just now, it was funny, but I was sidetracked by how gooooood Flor's boobs looked with blonde hair.

JudyB: Surprised you menfolk haven't commented but to me the funniest scene was little Mi Lady rummaging in Florvidente's cleavage.

Discretion being the better part of valor perhaps? It was definitely funny.

:-)

discreet, not very valorous andy

Okay. Glad we cleared that up, fellas. And yes, Doris, I thought the little gal was probably hungry and remembered that sweet milk doesn't just come out of bottles.

Maybe it wasn't actually a 'little gal' ! ! !

Gestapo patio?

Since recappers do all the work, they're entitled to decide what comments go or stay. It's difficult enough to get recappers without you referring to them as the "gestapo." Nobody's obligated to run this blog the way you want it run.

I was not talking about THIS blog excuse meeeeeee.

Just dropped in to say hello. Please excuse me for being AWOL all week long and not participating. I just haven't been feeling very well and the fatigue is just horrible. Working full time does not help. I will be doing the recap tonight.

Thank you to my fellow recappers and the great job you always do.

Seems we are on episode #76 tonight, I think we have like 102 episodes, so we are about 3/4 of the way along. Hopefully we will see:

Flor get well and she and Neron have a great wedding.
Jorge and Kika will get married.
Lili and Pablo are at least becoming committed and are good parents to their baby.
Maurico and Renee get married.

Don't know what will happen to Maria and Anifer. I hope they don't get hurt by the evil Fabian. He just gets worse and worse, doesn't he? He needs the anvil, both he and Falcon!

Cynthia, those are some good outcomes and I hope they come to pass. Take care and try to take it easy this weekend.

Thanks Jarifa! Oh I didn't mention how glad I am that Veronica and Tono are reconciling. Seems like it's going to stick. I love to see the high regard for families and marriage in these TNs. I can't wait till Mi Marido Tiene Familia comes out for season 2. I want to be a recapper on that one.

Yes, Cynthia, it has been nice seeing Toño and Verónica get back together. How long until their boss finds out they are married? As for Mi marido, it was such a good story and just so enjoyable. I have high hopes for season 2. : )

Kirby, I think I know what blog you were referring to and it was very definitely not this one.

Hi, Cynthia! Sorry to hear you're not feeling chipper but I hope that means your body is working hard to get you back to 100%. Take care!

Re Flor, whatever she wants to call herself, she looks good! Her usual hair, dark brunette, blonde, shaved bald, she looks good. I suspect that she does as much body work in the gym as some of the muscular guys in this TN. God gave her a great start but she is working at keeping it great. Her midriff is a testament to self-control when it comes to dessert.
:-)

Something I lack.
:-(
