Por Amar Sin Ley, 6/15/18 Chapter 75: ♫Oh What a Night♫, and Oh What a Kiss!

Your court reporter, disguised as a tourist, is in Cancun, watching all the goings on with the Vega attorneys and other hangers-on. She also has reporters back in D.F. keeping an eye on things and reporting back to her. [P.S. Someone please let me know if this episode went to the Chop Shop].

Benji is pacing around Leti’s hotel room trying to pull his hair out over being “found out” by Oli and Vicky. Leti is much more complacent about the whole incident. He tries to convince her for the millionth time that he doesn’t care about his wife, but he does about his son. She’s tired of his crap, for the millionth time and wants him to leave. He still wants to spend the night with her, but she doesn’t want to have to listen to his whining. He promises and chases her around the bedroom until she lets him catch her.

The three Lady Rascals have gone for a fun run by the water’s edge. Carlos suddenly “shows up.” He wants to talk to Ale. She’s really angry with him. He can’t just show up here. These are her work colleagues. He says he can’t stand letting Bustamante trotting along behind her. Ale says they were out among friends and that includes Ric. Carlos knows he acted like a jerk, but he doesn’t want her angry with him. She must understand that he only wants to recover what they had before. Ale says it’s not working. With his attitude, she’s losing all the good memories of what they had. She marches off. Carlos says to the wind and the water that he can’t forget her.

Juan and his mother are having breakfast on the veranda overlooking the sea. Susi has her back to the beautiful view of the water. They talk about the dust-up the night before and Juan brings her up to date on the Ric-Carlos-Ale triangle.

Oli gets a call from Alan. He misses her. She misses him. Leo is strolling by, moon-struck, rather than sun-struck. He says quite loudly in Oli’s ear that she’s quite guapa. Alan overhears it. Oli tells him it’s Rob, even though Alan says it sounds like Leo. After she hangs up, she scolds him and leaves him grinning.

Al and Jaime are sitting down for their breakfast. They’re still chatting away about the conference. Then Jaime brings up his meeting with the Municipal President of San Benito. Al immediately bristles—Jacinto Alantes? Yes, he asked Jaime to review his situation. Al doesn’t like where this is going. Jaime’s review shows that most of the problems carried over from the prior administration. Jaime says that Fausto is a political operative from the opposite party who just wants to take power away from Jacinto. Doesn’t Al realize that he’s getting himself into a political mess? Every case has two sides and Jaime wishes he wouldn’t take everything Fausto brought him at face value without checking into the President. Al defends his side. The folks in power are in a position to fabricate whatever evidence they want. Al has seen the evidence. Jaime thinks Fausto is lying to him and is afraid Al is stepping into a trap. Al thinks it’s a matter of justice.

Jaime reminds Al they’ve been friends for a long time but Al is being a stubborn old goat. Jaime is considering taking Jacinto’s defense. He warns Al if he loses this case it might have a negative effect on him. Al says Jacinto had the opportunity to explain to the citizens what he did with the money. Jaime thinks Al is finding Jacinto guilty even before there’s a trial. Al is done with this conversation. He gets up, puts on his shades and leaves.

El Ciego and El Gato are walking down a street or alley. Gato has good news. The police are going to let them “work” the new territory they have in peace—as long as they don’t mess with the police. El Ciego sees more money in their future. They’ll have to step up the laundering. Ciego calls Carlos-the-Laundromat. Carlos suggests he deal directly with Benji, since that’s his area of expertise.

Rob chases after Vicky. He claims if she had awakened by his side she’d be in a better mood. No, au contraire, she might have awakened more disillusioned. He asks her to try him out. She passes on his offer. He tells her he has the loaner of a 50’ boat and wants to take her out on it. She doesn’t think the rest of the Rascals would want to. (I think he wanted just the two of them, but he conforms himself to the whole Pack of Rascals + Juan.) She only needs to convince the ladies and he’s sure she can. He hugs her and she melts into his arms—then quickly leaves him.

Vicky works her courtroom arguments on Oli. They shouldn’t leave Cancun with memories of all the rancor and upsets with each other. They should have at least one day of fun. They should go home getting along better than when they arrived. Oli accepts. Rob uses his charm on Ric and Leo about the boating adventure with the ladies and ending the evening at an antro. They agree.

Ric the Punching Bag runs into Ale. The conference is going well. Ric apologizes for the night before, but claims it was inevitable. Ale is very upset over all the violence. Ric says Carlos provoked him. They can’t avoid the fact they are both in love with her. He knows it’s wrong to fall for Carlos’ little games, but he feels so strongly about her, he can’t help it. He doesn’t want to hurt her. He loves her too much.

Nati is being a little twerp with her mother—with good reason. She’s angry over Miguel. She doesn’t want Elena to have a boyfriend. Oh, Elena reasons with her, so it’s ok for her father to have a girlfriend, but she can't have a boyfriend. Nati says Ric doesn’t have a girlfriend. Elena states what she wants Nati to believe, that yes, indeedy he does, Nati saw her at his apartment. She doesn’t care. She loves her dad and not her mother’s boyfriend.

Ale bumps into her dad, surprised Al isn’t with him. He tells her he and Al have had a falling out. He fills her in with his side of the Fausto-Jacinto affair. So, Ale says, everything Fausto said was untrue. Ale is sure they’ll make up. He’s not so sure this time. He draws a sad Ale out and she tells her dad about the Carlos-Ric Lightweight Title Fight (Rematch). She was so embarrassed. She admits she likes them both—in different ways. Jaime says she’s the one to decide which one she truly loves. He thinks she already knows, but she can’t force things, especially in affairs of the heart. Oli and Vicky show up and congratulate Jaime on his conference. Ale doesn’t want to go out on the boat, but Jaime urges her to go and have fun. She agrees to go.

And off they go. Rob forbids any talk about work and they can’t answer their cell phones. They toast to Vega and their friendship. Leo sits on one side with Ale and Ric sits on the other with Oli, but the two couples keep looking at each other. And Rob? He keeps trying to get through to Vicky that he’s sincere and serious. Leo and Oli start talking. He almost gets a kiss. Ale keeps her distance from Ric.

Benji and Let are spending their time alone together, still arguing over his marital status, all the gifts he’s given her—that he claims he doesn’t give his wife and …. Leti gives him an ultimatum, for the millionth time. He has to decide between his wife and her.

The lady Rascals get together at one end of the boat. Ale says her personal life is a disaster. Oli says hers is, too. Vicky tells them both to enjoy the moment. They agree. At the end of the ride, the boy Rascals get off the boat happy, while the lady Rascals are still on board changing. Rob herds the guys towards the bar. They keep talking and drinking and generally having a good time. Rob leaves to get a round of shots. A blonde butt-sy thing strolls up to Rob and tries to hook up with him. She introduces herself as Lauren (and speaks with a really bad River Plate accent). He says he’s waiting for a lady friend. She recognizes fairly quickly that he’s probably in love….and here she comes. Vicky has been watching them as she approached, probably thinking, there he goes again. Lauren immediately realizes this is whom he’s in love with and to Vicky she says, “If it were me, I’d keep an eye on him—he’s in love with you.”

The Rascals have another round. Ric keeps his distance. Everybody gets ready to scatter for the evening, but before they do, Leo takes a selfie of the group. Rob asks Vicky to stay behind with him. Night has fallen and they go for a walk along the shore. Rob says they all had a lot of fun. He’d like to stay longer—just the two of them. Vicky tells Rob he was a lot of fun. Rob says everybody got a little of what they wanted. Ric got the chance to be with Ale without Carlos showing up, Oli is happy with Leo, Juan was happy discovering new places and he got to spend time with her. He points to the ocean—it counts as waking up with her. They are standing face to face. Smiling, Vicky says he’s unique, special. He tells her he likes being with her. Vicky replies in kind. He says they have to close their time in Cancun with a golden brooch. He adds that he’s never seen her look more beautiful. He turns to walk on, but she pulls him back. They get closer. She invites him with her eyes to kiss her. He caresses her cheek, pushes the hair back from her face and she reaches up for his lips and oh, what a kiss. Vicky puts her arms around him and responds.

Gracias, Anita/

The only thing I think is missing is a very brief scene at the bar early in the episode. Rob and Ric are having drinks and talking about Rob's plan to get Ric and Alejandra to reconcile. Two women start flirting with the guys; Rob pays the bill and they leave. Otherwise this ended at the original end of #75.

You mean they didn't censor the butt? That's progress of some kind.

While I don't like children being bratty, Vexlena has been asking for this. She's been trying to convince the children that Ricardo being with another woman means he will forget them, so Natalia has every reason to assume that Vexlena would do the same. Natalia is just a hair away from calling Vexlena out on her bullshit. Here's hoping for a future scene of Federico catching them in the act. That's something to tell the judge about...

I think that both Alonso and Jaime are wrong. The conversation between El Ciego and his flunky points to St Benito being a hotbed of drug activity.

More later.

Thanks Anita. And especially for the title...that's such a great song and it will be playing in my head all day. Just perfect.

Well, it's time to get our Li'l Rascals back to the office. Those runs on the beach aren't going to burn off all those shots they've been drinking. I do love views of the ocean and how the breeze whips everyone's hair around...the lightweight shirts on the men, the rich colors etc. But all that dogged courtship and "cómo te sientes? te noto rara? just got tiresome after a while.

Did enjoy seeing Victoria finally thaw and always love the beach at night. Nothing more magical. No wonder she kissed Roberto. After all that alcohol plus the night wind and the steady pulse of the ocean, how could she resist!?

Ms. Anita, you're a champ to pull double duty on Corazón and then Por Amar. And the song (like the kiss) was absolutely perfect. Gracias.

Thanks, Anita. Terrific job. It's a delight to read your recap this morning. Our sharp court reporter misses nothing. Juan and his mother are having breakfast on the veranda overlooking the sea. Susi has her back to the beautiful view of the water. After all Juan’s talk of his momma seeing the sea for the first time ever, that was a hoot.

A blonde butt-sy thing strolls up to Rob

Yep, butts are now okay in the Uni censor's book. There have been a lot of thonged butts in the strip club. Of course, male buttage is still verboten.

To me Jaime was too quick to carry Fausto’s story to Alonso, without doing his own independent research. Alonso is at least conducting research, plus he's cooler with his shades and the way he left Jaime without their usual bro hug.

Ahhh, that was a perfect primer beso. Plus, Blue Lass gets her Kissing on the Beach bingo slot.

Whew, thanks. I spent the night working up to the finale of the episode. Glad you liked it--I did. Por Fin! Sometimes vacations erase inhibitions and critical thinking. I'm anxious to find out if Rob and Vick's Cancun Magic will transfer to the suffocating halls of Vega or will they fall back to their flirtatious sparring.

Isn't it interesting that nobody cared to include Benji and Leti? Not on the boat ride, nor after and not in the selfie. Their names weren't even mentioned once. The group probably knows on some unconscious level that those two aren't part of the Li'l Rascals bunch and maybe even that they are not long-term at Vega.

Oh,Niecie--I got Kissing on the Beach square on my Bingo card, too. Unfortunately it's right next to Need for Blood Donation and Real Pregnancy.

Victoria and Olivia know about the desktop sex. So does Carmen, although I don't know whether Victoria and Olivia know that she knows. Even without that, neither Benjamin nor Leticia are team players. They are all out for themselves and the rest of the firm (or those that we know) all know that.

DNA Test should also be a bingo square by now.

Back to the mysteries of the wardrobe department...did anyone else find the black top, shorts, hat and black shoes Alejandra wore while jogging on beach terribly unflattering? I was like wow...a gorgeous woman whom they've managed to make look stubby and ugly. That took work.

If I were an actress in these things, I'd tried and figure out how to be best, best, best friends with everybody in the wardrobe and hair department. Those folks can be lethal if they want to.

Enough shallow discourse for the day. Saludos a todos.

JudyB, ITA. Whoever put Ale in those shorts (or was that a skort?) has no business in the wardrobe department.

Anita, this was an enjoyable recap and episode, until crazy Carlos acting like a spoiled brat, "alejandra is my toy you can't have her".Not wanting to play nice.
That reference about a female dog in heat and Carlos sniffing around was a good one.
And he was drunk. Ally should Not have been angry with Rick. He had to defend himself, couldnt just let Carlos push him around. Carlos feels very intitled. To have ally. Just him. He wasn't Thinking that way in the throes of passion With patricia. He should just go away. Far far far away. O he can't hes Got a murder trial comin up.

Lonnie and Jaime. Bffs, and now Opposite
Sides. Politics is messy,especially when
The politicians are crooks. These two gentleman have their work cut out for them. I hope they come out still being best buds. I wonder if El ciego is in with these crooks?

"Benji and letty standin on the beach
K I S S I N G,and they got caught by Vicky and oli". Stupid.

We may not see Melina again. I wish they hadn't sent her to prison on trumped up charges, but gus was the prominent one here. Who literally got caught with his pants off. But now all is forgiven?!?! This seems right in telenova land. I hope she Gets out since they're giving second chances she deserves one too. Happiness joy joy all around. If he can be rehabed so can she. Forgiveness is good. Ok enough for now. One more thing, Leo will
Probably wear oli down. Soon before she
Gets too into alan. Oli is the poster child for choosing the wrong guys.
Thank Anita.

H A P P Y ♡ F A T H E R S ♡ D A Y
To all the father's on the patio. I hope you have a blessed day With your kids and get pretty ties👔😃👔

It was nice seeing everybody in something else besides those "suits"
(Thank you Megan mountbatton windsor).
They looked very comfortable. Now back
To the salt mines of Vega & associates

It would be great to see Melina again. She gets out and goes for mister pussy foot, no pun intended.

Does anyone know how to underline on Blogger's HTML site?. Nothing I try seems to work.

On this page or on a recap page?

This page, not a recap page.

They don't let us underline in the comments.

Thanks, Anita, for the wonderful recap! And belated thanks to Urban and Jardinera as well. I'm *almost* caught up. I haven't watched this epi yet, but I'm circling "KISSING ON BEACH" anyway. ("DNA TEST" is NOT a bingo square??? No me digas!)

Anita: perfect song and title for this one! Enjoyed "buttsy thing". I didn't understand the black on black or the long arab robe type dress for Ale--especially in Cancun. The heat that long robe kept in would do me in, no to mention they were both drab.

I didn't realize or maybe I forgot, that El Ciego's been talking about San Benito. Thanks for that clarification. Either way, we're in for a big clash of the Titans when and if Jaime and Alonso square off on the corruption trial. Irene will have to weigh in on that for sure!

Jaime bugs me anyway. He's way too gentlemanly with Carlos. I prefer Paula's chilliness with her daughter's ex.

Jar--I must have missed the San Benito connection, too. I only heard El Ciego talking about the "new territory" he was moving into. Al was talking about all kinds of crime in San Benito--I can't recall if he mentioned drugs specifically or El Ciego. I don't think Al & Jaime know about El Ciego.

They all know that Carlos represented him, so everybody should be concerned. Very concerned.

Need to finish up tonight's. Someone on the team por favor e-mail me after the broadcast in case they do another chop job.
