Amar a Muerte, 10/29-10/31/18, Episodes 1-3: And So the Story Begins…
As of now, there are no recappers for this TN, but I thought I'd provide a space to see if a patio forms to discuss this intriguing story. Feel free to tell us what you liked, what you didn’t like, what made you roll your eyes or what brought tears to your eyes….and anything else you might want to comment on J
I will put up a discussion page every Monday and Thursday at 11 pm (this may change depending on how many comments are posted).
If you would like to post some highlights or a recap in the comments, you are encouraged and welcome to do so.
Let the comments begin!! Enjoy! 😊
Labels: Muerte
I've never seen Angelique in a TN so I will have my first experience with her :-)
Michel was in "Falco" and he did a great job in that.
Claudia Martin was in "Ramon" but she looks quite much more sophisticated here; and may be a littel more "outspoken."
Gonzalo Pena was Francystco in "Ramon" too. He doesn't seem to be as hateful here as on in Ramon...but time will tell.
Macarena Archaga aka Emilia in LBYLB is one of the mogul's daughters, but seems sweeter here.
And we get to see Jessica Mas and Arturo Barba from LBYLB too, but I didn't see them last night.
Hope to here from you all soon! Have a great day!
In addition to characters Rgv Chick mentioned,
Alejandro Nones was one of the Lucio brothers in "La Piloto". Here, I think, he is the main villain. I suspect he arranged the assassination.
Bárbara López was in "Papá a toda madre" as Ánifer's mother María. Here, she is the daughter of the criminal whose body got León's soul.
Michel brown is a murderer who gets sent to the electric chair after kiling a judge.
Alexis Ayala is a mogul who marries Lucia(angelique) and that is 30 years younger than him, hes like 60 in the show.
Arturo Barba is an anthropologist professor with a wife and a son that has cancer (i think) and apparently lives a very boring life alongside his wife who doesn't get much satisfaction from him (if you know what I mean).
so michel and ayala die at the same time and ayala's soul transfers to michel's body
then Barba dies after he has a car accident and michel's soul transfers to barba's body. So alexis ayala's body and Barba's soul will be gone because that's what death decided.
so this is all pretty intresting tbh, really good actors here, looking forward to seeing arturo barba, i liked his acting since ELSDLC when he played Turco
Lydia, looked up Alexis Ayala since I had never seen him before...he had a heart attack this past July! so I'm kinda glad his body will not be seen so he can have plenty of time to recuperate.
Lucio, thanks for adding those two characters. I haven't seen Alejandro Nones before but he does look like he can be a mean dude! And Barbara Lopez? I didn't get ot see her last night...looking forward to seeing her in this.
Anon 9:38, thanks for that info. So Arturo Barba is getting Michel's soul? That will be interesting! Arturo was great in LBYLB as an antagonist.
Looks like a good cast overall...can't wait till tonight!
Angelique Boyer as Lucía Borges Duarte de Carvajal
Michel Brown as Macario "El Chino" Valdés
Alejandro Nones as Johny Corona
Arturo Barba as Beltrán Camacho
Macarena Achaga as Valentina Carvajal
Claudia Martín as Eva Carvajal
Jessica Más as Lupita de Valdés
Henry Zakka as Camilo Guerra
Nestor Rodulfo as El Alacrán
Gonzalo Peña as Guillermo Carvajal
Roberto Duarte as Inspector Montilla
Cinthia Vázquez as Alicia Camacho
Bárbara López as Juliana Valdés
Cayetano Arámburo as Mateo Luna
Jessica Díaz as Renata Barranco
Alessio Valentini as Javier Beltrán
Alexis Ayala as León Carvajal
Can I just make a suggestion? It would really help me keep up with your very informative comments if you could please end your posts with a signature such as Anon-AAM/AnonMuerte/or some other generic name so that I can distinguish you from other anonymous commentators...
If you prefer not to, it's fine; you're comments will still be very welcome :-)

The people in Universe Uno
Alexis Ayala is Leon Carvajal, some big wig who looks to be like the head of LooneyVision.
Alejandro Nones, from La Piloto 1 as his sidekick Johnny Corona
(Every really big dude has to have a sidekick/manservant/helper/sycophant.
Angelique Boyer’s legs is Lucia, the girlfriend/bedmate of manservant. They cook up a scheme to have her marry big important guy Carvajal and then have him killed.
Universe Dos San Antonio Texas
Michael Brown is Jacobo 'Chino' Valdes a hitman for some drug guys who lives in a trailer outside San Antonio. No, not even a tornado bait house trailer, rather a travel trailer, with his almost hot wife and hot teenage daughter. In addition to his interest in killing innocent people, he appears to have some dark interest in the occult also. IE: he luuurves his black hoodie. WTF? And skulls.
People we know:
Big Important Guy’s kids or kids spouses at the dining table are Francystco from Ramoon (Gonzalo Pena) as Guillermo , Emilia from Bela (Macarena Achaga) as Vale, Fabiola’s temporarily mute sister from Ramon (Claudia Martin) as Eva.
Eman from Bela is in this one also along with Barbara Lopez (Anifer’s Mom Maria) from Papa.
Start off with him in ambulance then at hospital. On the way to the hospital
Lucia, his new bride is with him, along with an EMT. But then we see some
pale ghostly looking being, a woman I think, for just a moment. Then as he is wheeled
down the hall, and his bride watches, a black butterfly flits around. Boo !
3 months earlier at a function Carvajal is introduced by Johnny
And at the same time in San Antonio Tx we see an Assassin hit man doing some
kind of occult ritual with his pistol in his trailer as his wifey walks in.
He then leaves in his black hoodie as his wife and daughter silently watch.
We see a dressed to the nines in red Lucia make her entrance to the event and
walk in, sit down and blow Leon the big rich guy kisses. She sits in the front row with his children and Johnny.
There is some cheesy looking guy taking poorly lit pictures of a dark haired girl.
No clue how this fits in.
Meanwhile back in San Antone, we see the hit man pull up in his two dollar salvage yard car to make his hit on a federal judge.
He gets a last look at a picture of the target judge on his phone and goes in.
The judge is talking to some fellow who has what appears to eb a memory card/ USB stick
and there is also a briefcase of money. Who knew?
He kisses a picture of some occult deity, pulls up his hood, and goes in and does the deed.
He takes the briefcase of money and leaves after putting his gun in one of the fellows face.
At hme there is a family meal with Leon, his son Gully, daughters Val and Eva, Johnny and GF Lucia.
Apparently Lucia and one of the daughters (Eva) do not get along too well. She must be married, as she is wearing a big rock.
There is a heated discussion between her and Lucia and first Lucia, starts to leave, then Eva does.
Big guy is soooo in luuuurve with his half-age poke. Hey, dude, even Rulli won't marry her. Wake up.
Hit man is back home after his excellent adventure. Screaming and fighting with the wife unit. Daughter just covers her ears.
He is heading out to bury the money.
Half-age poke visits old rich dude at work and lays it on thick, Te Amos all around.
Next scene, the sheets are about to burst into flames under her ass as she and Johnny are
nekkid!
Back to the Day of the Dead festival, and Leon and some even OLDER dude are there.
What appears to be some random stranger wearing a skull mask pretends to shoot Leon with his fingers, raises his mask and takes a swig
of his beer, and walks off. Both guys are like ?Que?
In Tx we see the drug guys operation. They try to call their hit man who does not answer. He looks to have double crossed them.
The watch the news and see that he accomplished the hit and try to call him. He throws the phone out of the car and drives off.
When the drug guys realize their hit man Jacobo 'Chino' has given them the slip, they head out to find him.
Leon gets home to an empty house. He has a front door you could drive a semi through.
He appears surprised to find the house empty. As it starts torain he sees that same ghostly figure outside on the ground looking up to his window.
Leon is kinda creeped out by it. He calls security and looks again and she is gone.
He then opens a bookcase, types in a code and goes downstairs to a "batcave" like in Bela
and starts looking at all his security cameras. He sees his big black dog barking at something, but there is nothing there.
We see Eva and her hubby at home arguing about something.
In Tx the drug kingpin fellows find hit man's trailer. They rough up Mom and daughter wanting to know where Chino is. But they really do not know.
They don't even rape the daughter. A last minute call from the boss saves her. What kind of show is this?
Out in the boonies under a cross Chino buries the briefcase of money with the USB stick inside.
He leaves a pendant from around his neck hanging nearby.
Chino is heading back and sees a roadblock, as there is an APB out for him. Now the Popo have the latest shit from Dodge, and he has a salvage yard reject.
So Einstein runs the roadblock and thinks he will outrun them. It doesn't pan out.
But when he has to abandon the car, and they apprehend him, they must believe
that he was in fact only trying to shoot their cars, rather than them because
they do not shoot him full of holes right there in BFE, but gently arrest him.
Brutal.
Leon and Johnny walking the grounds as THEIR favorite poke sits by the pool in a tiny black bikini.
Chino is in prison now and one of the dead judge's buddies visits and wants that USB stick back. It ain't happening unless Chino gets out.
Well, that aint happening either. Later his wife visits.
NOW 3 months later we see the wedding. Leon and Lucia tie the knot and sign his death warrant...er the wedding papers.
His daughter Eva and her hubby are not too happy for some reason. The old guy who was with him at the Day of the Dead celebration is there too.
I think he is an anthropologist or something.
Lucia seems to especially like the 'Till Death do us part' part.
At the reception Lucia slips away to discuss how their plan is progressing.
We see a flashback of when she was working in some venue and managed to meet Leo
who was awestruck immediately. She pretends to not know who he is until he points himself out in a life sized poster on the wall.
Little Miss Innocent.
Back at the reception, a waiter hired by Johnny stabs Leon, as Johnny has him in position. Then Johnny happens to have a pistol in
his pocket and shoots the waiter umpty eleven times so mhe can't talk.
In Tx, Chino is being extinguished in the electric chair.
We see the ambulance ride again with a dying Leon, Lucia, an EMT fellow, and the weird chick with a white face and lock of grey in her hair.
Chino's wife and daughter watch as Chino fights with every molecule as he is led to old sparky for his final adventure.
Then there is an eclipse of the sun and they have Chino laid out to be processed to be buried and we see
his face morph into Leon for a moment, and then he comes back to life as the lab people rush in.
Just to add a couple things. The girl that was being photographed was actually Lucia...she was having a flashback of her start as a pron model. In her next flashback (when she was at the pool), she was at the brothel and her own mother made her "service" the yukky guy. It seemed to be her first time...poor thing! She was definitely in the plot with Johnny to marry Leon, but I don't think she had knowledge about the plot to murder Leon.
When Alacran, the leader of the druggies, was about to take Lupita into the trailer to rape her, the other guy got a call from someone who told him that all the roads had been closed and Chino would not be able to get away...so they had to leave.
The older guy with Leon is Camilo Guerra (played by Henry Zakka). He and Leon seem to have been friends since childhood and he is alos Guillermo's godfather. They talk about a book he wrote about reincarnation.
ill leave my initals rvg chick

I was looking at Macarena when they were all having breakfast...she is really thin...too thin!!
So did I understand right that Johnny and Lucia are involved romantically, an affair? León obviously blindly trusts and cares for Johnny.
I'll comment again later if I can think of something else to say or ask questions lol
I'll certainly watch the first week and see whether or not my Wuss Factor lets me continue. But delighted to see a discussion page.
Lydia, I wasn't sure that was the Santa Muerte; thanks for confirming that.
gc, Chino-Leon will probably want to take revenge as you say (when he figures out they were scamming him), but where will Chino's wife and daughter be left in all of this? Lucia has had a bad start on life and she is Johnny's accomplice, but will she have a change of heart when she meets Chineon and will she be redeemed?? So many questions already!!
I like Angelique and I like Michel, so I had to tune in last night. Alexis Ayala looking pretty good last night as a normal guy.
ITA Lucia didn't seem to be in on the hit of her brand-new husband. Wondering what she thought her boyfriend was up to with this whole setup.
So instead of two men making a body switch, they'll be three? This could get too complicated for me, but I'll give it a week to see how it goes.
Justice certainly moved fast in Texas. El Chino (wondering where that nickname came from) didn't spend much time on death row before his execution. Normally, it takes years.
gc
GC, your guess is as good as mine! We appreciate your comments and info, but please be reminded that discussion of previews, trailers and spoilers are dissuaded since not everyone is privvy to that info and we don't want to "spoil" anyone's anticipation of seeing an episode or show for the first time. Thank you for your cooperation and looking forward to your future comments.
I am looking forward to seeing the entire show tonight!
Judging from comments, looks like a lot of interest. Someone posted that it reminded them of Cuerpo de Deseo. Me too!! That is novella that started my enjoyment of novellas. Except for vioent drug ones.
Thanks for posting this column, it is appreciated!
Just to remind everyone that if anyone is interested in providing a recap, summary, highlights...whatever you want to call it, please let me know. Maybe we can get enough daring writers to set up a schedule :-)
Anon 7:52, maybe Macarena's parents were really into the macarena dance LOL teeheehee
Lupita and Juliana go in to see Chico, but Chico asks who they are and wonders what is happening. He tells them his name is Leon Carvajal.
Meanwhile at the execution room, the doc asks how many volts were used. They investigate and the men are sure that Chino’s heart stopped. They then see the black moth and comment that it signifies death.
Professor Beltran lectures in his class when he gets a call from his wife, Alicia.
ChiLeon walks out of the room and everyone wonders why he is acting so strangely.
Beltran and Alicia are with a doctor and tell him they are willing to sign whatever is needed to save their son’s life. The doctor tells them that their insurance doesn’t cover the cost of the transplant that their son needs.
ChiLeon continues to argue as he is lead to a police car.
Beltran and Alicia are in the car arguing. Beltran tells her that he can get a loan from the university but it still won’t be enough. He assures Alicia that he will do something but she tells him he always says the same thing, but he never does anything. As they argue they crash and the car falls off the cliff. Alicia gets out and starts yelling for help after she checks to see if Beltran is alive. As she climbs up the hill the car explodes; so she goes back down to check for her husband but when she turns around, she sees him up the hill. She calls out to him, but he is keeps saying he is Chino Valdez.
The media waits for Leon’s family as they arrive home. Johnny stays outside and tells them he is the Carbajal’s rep and hopes they are understanding of the family. It is a day of mourning mot just for the family and him, but for all of Mexico since Leon was hoping to be the next president. He then tells security to make sure the media leaves.
Later, Johnny goes to Lucia who cries that he sent Leon to be killed. She can’t believe it. They go inside and she grabs and shakes Johnny…killing Leon was not something they had agreed on. Johnny tries to tell her that she needs to try to understand. She wants to yell, but he tells her to listen to him. This is not t to panic...he knows she can’t understand right now. He then tells her that she is everything is his life. Lucia still can’t believe what he did. She doesn’t know how he will handle all of this, but he’d better start NOW!!
Belino arrives home. Alicia explains to their son that they were in an accident and his father doesn’t remember some things.
In SA-there is a news report about a hurricane that is approaching Texas. The guards take ChiLeon into the building as he tries to get them to listen to him...until he sees himself in the mirror.
Amparo, the maid, brings Belino a sweater and tells him to rest. Alicia calls out to Beltran, but Belino tells her to stop calling him that. He sees himself in the mirror and wonders what the heck is going on.
In SA, ChiLeon tries to calm himself but yells out in a panic. Meanwhile, Alacran finds out that Chino is alive; and the cops wonder what they should do with Chino since he came back to life.
Leon asks for help in English. Juliana wonders why he speaks in English if he has never learned it.
In Mexico, Guillermo asks Val how she is. She thinks everything seems to be surreal. Eva approaches and Guil tells them their father had many enemies. Eva vows to find the person responsible and will make him pay.
Alicia is on phone and is afraid of what her husband may do. Belino has left and is somewhere asking a man where he is. When the man tells him he is in Mexico, Belino is perplexed and looks around as the black moth stops on his leg. An old woman then approaches and tells him it was the moth of death.
ChiLeon gets a visit from the judge’s e lawyer who tells him he will make sure he goes back to the electric chair.
Lucia cries (out of guilt??) as she holds Leon’s picture.
Johnny tells the Carvajals that he will take care of the funeral arrangements. He will be there to support them and do whatever is needed. The Inspector arrives…he understands their grief but he needs to ask questions…the president wants this investigated ASAP. The cops investigated the waiter and they think he was hired. When he asks if they suspect anyone, Lucia comes out and says yes; the suspect is among them…she should be their primary suspect…right???
ChiLeon asks the attorney how he can send him to the electric chair for something he didn’t do. The guards approach and tell the attorney that Chino is to be released since they can’t punish him again for the same crime. The attorney loses it and grabs the guy…waste of energy.
Belino goes to a bar and has some beers. When Alicia calls him, she tells him everything will be fine and he needs to return home, but Belino has no idea where that is. Octavio gets the phone and tells Belino that he is his friend from the university, but Belino tells him he never attended a university.
In SA, the hurricane approaches. Leon is being driven home by Romero so he asks where they are. Romero tells him they are in SA, but there is a mandatory evacuation…he will leave him at his home. When ChiLeon tries to get out of the moving car, Romero pulls a gun on him and threatens that he will kill him if he leaves.
Alacran talks to his boss. The Boss is worried that the USB has all his info; so Alacran assures him he will get the suitcase back with all the money and the USB.
Romero takes ChiLeon home where Lupita and Juliana wait for him. When they get there, Romero tells them that his client is on the way.
Octavio and Alicia go looking for Belino. Alicia blames herself for what happened since she was arguing with him while driving. Meanwhile, Belino goes to another club and looks at his ID as a girl comes over. She tells him how much she charges…depending on how much money he has, they can go to a more private place.
ChiLeon looks at himself again in the mirror. Lupita comes in and gives him a beer as she notices the black butterfly tattoo and wonders where he got it.
Belino is with the pro who is trying to make him feel comfortable. When she sees the black butterfly tattoo, she moves back and leaves because she won’t mess with that which he has on his back.
ChiLeon asks if he can sit down to listen to the news. The reporter talks about the miracle of his resurrection. Lupita see the reporters arrive…they aren’t going to leave them alone. The goons then arrive and see all the reporters. Inside, Lupita warns ChiLeon that Alacaran is about to arrive and will want everything he took from him.
At the Carvajal house, Lucia is in the bedroom and never thought this would end like this. Eva walks in and asks if she is packing to leave, but Lucia is unpacking everything. When Eva accuses her of killing her father so she can stay with everything, Lucia tells her that even she (Eva) is a suspect since she was so against the marriage. Eva’s husband comes in followed by Camilo who tells Eva that this bedroom and house belong to Lucia. Eva storms out.
In SA, the hurricane is full force, but the reporters are still outside the ChiLeon’s trailer. A female reporter asks that ChiLeon open the door, but ChiLeon opens a window. The reporter goes back and reports in that no one opened the door. Meanwhile, ChiLeon, Juliana and Lupita manage to climb out of the window and escape.
In Mexico, Belino walks around aimlessly. Some medium is talking to a man and dismisses him because she is no longer getting any vibes from beyond. Belino walks in and asks for her help...to explain to him why he is trapped in another man’s body.
Alacran and his goons show up to the trailer and see that ChiLeon is gone. He shoots the guy who was supposed to be keeping an eye on ChiLeon for being inept.
The medium tells Belino that his soul has been split in two. He tells her that he is not from Mexico; he is from the USA where he was taken to the electric chair…he needs to know what happened. The medium tells him she has never encountered a situation like this. She talks to the spirits, but Belino gets impatient. The medium then uses the Ouija board that spells out something that I didn’t get, but the medium tells him that sometimes souls get stuck. He doesn’t believe her and leaves.
At the funeral, Lucia approaches the casket as does Johnny who tells her that she needs to play the part well. Lucia tells her she is supposed to be the saddest widow not the stupidest.
In SA, ChiLeon tell the girls to keep going, but Juliana doesn’t want to stay with them since he is a murderer. She tells them to go on their own and runs off when a utility pole almost falls on her. ChiLeon runs to her and she is fine; so they continue running because the bad guys are catching up.
At the funeral, Lucia walks around. Johnny comes to her and she tells him to leave her alone for at least a little while . He reminds her that she needs to play the part as Lucia feels that everyone is watching her.
Thank you RGV. So when Santa Muerte does her magic, she leaves a black moth tattoo on the beneficiary's neck.
So Beltran (Bel/Chino) just puts on a jacket, and heads out to have an adventure with that club paw and bloody shirt?
After a near or maybe post death experience I always like a hot shower, a shave, and a fresh shirt. But I'm picky.
To summarize, so I am on the same page as everyone, we had three dead men, two of whose bodies are being recycled, so to speak. IE: there is one corpse to actually be planted, Leon Carvajal. And one Spirit unaccounted for --- Beltran's.
But Leon C's Spirit and mind is now in the Chino--hit man body, and the Chino--hit man's Spirit is in the Beltran body. That leaves the Beltran Spirit, unaccounted for, or lost, so to speak. I wonder how it will amuse itself.
Ya know, I am already seeing how Santa Muerte is gaining on the Catholics and Baptists. I mean, did the Baptists ever even decide that dancing is OK?
Well, I am relieved that Lucia was not in on the murder. But the little Ho did go and meet and marry Leon all the while in an ongoing romantic relationship with his manservant Johnny. She seems to be truly sorry that her new hubby is dead though. Overlooking the obvious, I wonder why? I mean, we saw that she was still lighting up the sheets with Johnny. Oh well, women, I'll never figure them out. She had better watch her back with Eva. Now that she can talk she could be a handful.
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!! 👻
also the ouija board said that el chino (beltran) "no podia irse todavia" which means he couldn't leave yet because he had problems that he hadn't resolved.
funny reference to LBYLB, rgv, also abt LBYLB, i just wanted to say the Arturo Barba purposefully made look as if he was in love with bela which was a sick move by him bc he wasn't(obviously).
gc
Or is he? Anyway, I think I've fixed the recording problem so at least I'll be able to view tonight's episode.
I have some suggestions.
1. Cut him off if you understand the colloquial drift of that.
2. Rat him out, as that doofy looking detective already smells a rat.
3. At all costs, make friends with the children of the deceased..scratch that ...body snatcher, as WE know he is not dead. Especially Eva who saw through her from the getgo.
4. When LeonChi shows up, fill him in and get his help.
WAIT, RGV what have you named him? Chileon..no that doesn't sound right...sounds like a suburb.
"You gonna kick the ball or scratch your butt? Whatever, Chile-0n." :-)
Even if Lucia knows that Jonny is using her, would it matter to her at all if she loves him anyway?
At least we got the background info on the black butterfly/black moth symbolism. The myth exists in Guatemala too.
But the Ouiji board looked real.
GC, yes, but Lucia really looked hurt. She was crying real tears when no one was watching. She was still sleeping with Johnny, but there was something there with Leon too. Maybe it was 'The Life' with him more than him, really, or maybe she sorta did love him, but was dishonest enough to want to keep the sex with Johnny too. Cake and eat it? Wouldn't be the first human who thought that way.
So I went back early this morning, as they are normally on or near the nest right after daybreak, and right before sundown, and there was my favorite big birds. Not a spectacular shot, but the morning sun surely makes his beak look good.
I never thought about it, but yes. ChiLeon does sound like a country...and Chile-On...well I won't get into that one! LOL
Anon 1:19/gc?, maybe you are right about Lucia not really loving Leon, but as Kirby pointed out, her tears and sobs were real when she was in the bedroom; so her distress stemmed from something other than guilt. I can't think of an exact English translation of "cariño"..to me that term is much more than caring and that is what I think Lucia had for Leon...plus the fact that she must have felt very safe and secure with him and the lifestyle he offered her. It brings to mind her flashback when she got out of the limousine and the cameras started flashing...what a change from the camera that was used when she was first photographed for porn...
I certainly don't think Lucia luuurves Johnny...maybe infatuation, loyalty and or gratitude if her got her out of the slumps...and slums...
Looks like I'm missing out. This is on too late for me but am happy to see that there are so many comments and that RgvChick and Kirby have posted their always helpful and well written recaps.
Beautiful rose and spectacular eagle. The sky is the perfect backdrop - the intensity of the eagle's gaze is mesmerizing.
Diana
Seriously if Eva wanted to kill anyone, or hire a hitman to kill someone, she'd more likely want Lucia dead, not her father.
I'm still trying to figure out this swapping bodies/souls thing lol the scene with the medium was interesting though.
He definitely recognizes you, now he needs to figure out what you are doing.
You definitely have the skills! Nice. Very nice.
Thank you!
Diana

Leon's body: six feet under
Leon's Soul -> Chino's body
Chino's Soul -> Beltran's Body
Beltran's Soul: Lost in the universe
Diana, glad you dropped in; whether you watch the TN or not, you are always welcome :-)
Kirby, ITA going to a strip club wearing a freshly bloodied shirt is loco. Crazy that the lap dancer didn't get spooked by that, but drew the line at a black moth.
Wondering if El Chino's wife is going to fall in love with her reincarnated hitman husband. Now that Leon's in his body, this husband is certainly more caring with the wife and daughter.
Anonymous@10:06 Tuesday, thanks for the cast list.
Like when the wife comes home with a radically different (sexy) hairdo, and you feel so decadent that night, but it is all legal.
I suppose the original brains/Spirits may be drawn to their former spouses though, which will add thirty-eleven more levels of convolution.
This is just to let you know that I've started watching Amar. I haven't cared for Angelique (I guess I'm in the minority), but I have to concede she is delivering a very believable performance here. Kudos to her.
I couldn't remember why Camilo looked familiar. I had to look him up. He was Octavio in Reina de Corazones. Wow!
This is such a nice forum, but I don't know how much time I will have to pop in and participate regularly.
Anita, glad you could stop by. Whatever time you have to pop in will be appreciated and welcomed. I've never seen Angelique in anything, but she does seem to be doing a great job portraying this character.
I was just thinking--Chino is the only one whose body AND soul are still walking around. I'm just wondering what would happen if the body and soul finally came together at some point in time. What would happen to Leon's soul and Beltran's body?????????
Having said that, I spent the third episode wondering why Chino/Lalo doesn't shave off that pinche beard. He would be a lot harder to recognize and to track down. If I remember right, Michel Brown was a handsome guy without a beard in Pasion de Gavilanes.
My theory is that Beltran is going to become a hitman and be hired to kill Jacobo at some point in the novela, at which point we'll find out what happens when the body and soul meet.
Anon 11:51, the English translation of Jacobo sounds a lot better, doesn’t it? :-)

In SA, The hurricane continues to blast in as Leonchi and the girls run. Lupita falls so Leonchi picks her up and throws her over his shoulder...strong man...ay, ay, ay!.
Mex-Beltino continues walking at looks at his reflection on a car window and asks who that is. Poor window takes in all of Beltino’s anguish.
Camilo talks to Lucia. He can’t imagine how she is feeling...nope, he has no idea! He lost a great friend...and what bothers him most is how Leon died. Lucia thinks Leon is in heaven…(a place she will never see).
SA-LeonChi continues to walk with Lupita over his shoulder as Juls worries that Lu doesn’t wake up. They hide as the goons arrive at the warehouse and search.
Mex-At the funeral, the inspector tells Lucia that she is definitely the primary suspect. He doesn’t have enough evidence to arrest her, but he is investigating. When he asks her to go meet with him later, Lucia tells him she will help him find the true killer.
Guil watches Val take a swig of liquor and goes to ask her to stop drinking. Guil likes to think that their father is still with them and soon will send some type of sign….ooh they will surely get a sign! Val is drunk as a skunk and yells at everyone to get out.
Octavio and Alicia get a message that Javier has a fever again. As they get home, Beltino arrives saying that he found the address on the phone.
SA-Leonchi and girls get to a motel and get a room. Lupita asks how he knows English, so he tells them he has been bilingual all his life…he reminds them that he is not who they think he is. He was getting married in Mexico and suddenly found himself there.
Mex-Octavio makes some remark and Belchino beats him enough to require an ambulance.

Recaps will be dependent on how much time I have and any volunteers who are willing to recap...even if once in awhile. Recaps don't have to be long...a short summary or highlights will suffice and be appreciated. If anyone would like to give it a try, leave a short message as soon as you can after the episode airs :-)
pretty sure Javier's (beltran's son) surgery will be paid for with the money el chino(now beltran) stole from el alacran.

This does seem like a El Cuerpo Del Deseo spiritual successor(no pun intended!). The main girl isn't a typical prota girl. It has a greasy dog faced lover and a rather savage protagonist . Leon even has a secret camera room!!
What I kind of don't understand is what happens if one of the soul hoarders dies. What happens to their bodies? Do all of them die instantly or something?
Is the Death character there for plot armor? Or is it just bored and wants to mess everyone for giggles? Will it wear a Santa Claus hat and ring a bell when anyone dies? Find out in the next episode of Death Trolls Us All!
CountxAlacran, glad to see you here! I was wondering the same thing about what happens if the soul hoarder dies or if the soul gets sucked into the netherworld. "Death Trolls Us All"...good one!
Thanks RGV
Jardinera, really? Wonderful. Yipee Kai yea !
Jardinera, nice to see you here. Glad you will join Rgv Chick and Kirby in covering this one.
Thanks for getting the ball rolling Rgv Chick and keeping it going. Right now this is very interesting. The relationship between Lucia and her spouse, and Lucia and Johnny is complex to say the least. I wonder what the original plan was since she spent a lot of time complaining that Johnny went off script.
But so far, so good. And I thought the suspense, when you were led to believe that the villains would get Chino's daughter, and instead it was Chino-Leon keeping her safe was an excellent touch. The whole motel hide-out thing was very angst-making. At least for this Wuss!
