Leon/Chino/Jacobo
(LCJ) and Guille continue their talk outside on the patio. LCJ wonders why
Guille didn’t call the cops. Guille questions what they were supposed to
say—that they were drunk and just got the idea to do hold up a liquor store and
shoot a man. LCJ starts questioning Guille about that night; so Guille tells
him that it was Toño who shot the man. He thinks there were cameras, but they
were wearing masks. He confesses that every time he sees one of those masks, he
recalls the man lying there in his blood; it’s was horrible, but the man is
doing well. When LCJ asks if he has seen the man, Guille admits that he decided
to help the man in his recuperation, but he posed as a representative of a
foundation. LCJ thinks Guille did the right thing and would like to accompany
Guille whenever he goes to see the man. After Guille thanks LCJ, he apologizes
for bringing LCJ into the situation; he just needed to let out what he was
feeling. LCJ then asks Guille if he has told anyone about the incident; so
Guille tells him that he confided in his secretary. He trusts her and, in a
way, she is very special. Yes, like in a TN, virtually married if she knows
enough to send you to prison, Mr. Sharing.
Inside
at the party, Teo’s buddy is dancing with a brunette when a blondie goes and
separates them. He goes to Teo and asks that Teo go distract the blondie so he
can get to the brunette. Teo refuses since he is only there because of Renata
who left without telling him. Teo wants to go look for her since she is not
answering her phone, but his buddy advises him not to since girls don’t like to
be harassed. On the other side of the room, Guille and LCJ walk into the party
room. If it were up to Guille he’d run off everyone. Mayela walks over
wondering where Guille had been, so Guille introduces her to LCJ. He then tells
Mayela that he is going up to bed, but Mayela insists that he still needs to
have a “shot” with her and continue celebrating. Did she hear the magic word
‘bed’ and get a second wind? As they walk away, LCJ smiles as he watches Vale
dancing with her friend Juls who is having too much fun to look around. LCJ
walks away unnoticed. Now THAT’s a makeover when your Daddy does not recognize
you. Kick that sewing machine, start selling makeovers.
In
San Antonio, Don Terecio questions Canito, his goon, who tells him that the
couple staying at El Chino’s trailer have nothing to do with El Chino; they are
just a couple who want to buy the trailer from Lupita. When Don T asks for
Patas, Canito tells him he has disappeared, not even his wife has heard from
him. Don T thinks that something is wrong; so he tells Canito not to come back
until he finds Patas. After Canito tells him he’ll get on it tomorrow, Don T
insists that he start NOW. That is why he is the head Goon Can-it.
Back
at the party. Juls and Vale continue dancing when Lucho and Sergio come up and
tell them that they want to continue partying elsewhere. Juls and Vale don’t
want to go since Guille’s party is going well. Lucho gets pissy and storms off
after he throws a slur at Juls. Once gone, Juls wants to know what’s up with
Lucho; he seems to hate her. After Vale tells him that he just has a problem.
Juls wants to go home, but Vale pleads that she stay. When Juls insists, Vale
concedes and tells her Jacobo will take her home. Oh Boy.
Outside,
LCJ sees Johny’s car and asks Fabricio if Johny came to the party. Fabricio
responds that Johny and the Missus always have business to discuss; (Note to
LCJ: At Midnight with a ‘do not disturb’ on the door) he advises LCJ to mind his own business. Just
then, Vale calls Fabricio and asks him for LCJ; so Fabricio tells LCJ that Vale
needs him. LCJ wonders where Vale wants him to take her. Fabricio explains that
Vale wants him to take her friend home…she is probably going to go buy drugs or
liquor; lately, Vale is usually high or drunk. He points out that most of the
kids at the party are either high or drunk; and Vale is usually the first one.
Ever since her father died, Vale has spiraled downward.
At
Renata’s apartment, Renata tries to convince Kayla to stay the night, mainly
because she feels horrible. She tells Kayla how she saw Mayela and Guille
kissing and wonders where that leaves her. Kayla reminds her that she warned
her to get with it, but she didn’t, so Mayela beat her to Guille. Renata wants
to turn in her resignation the next day! She refuses to go serve her boss
coffee while he’s kissy-kissy with his girlfriend. Kayla chides Renata for
beating herself over this; she has warned Renata that work and love just don’t
mix. Renata chose not to listen; so now she has to be mature about it and take
the consequences. After Renata runs off to her room, Kayla follows her and asks
if Renata is really going to quit over the memory of a forgotten kiss with
Guille. Kayla, if the tables were turned, you would be hearing the same speech
from Renata.
At
the party, Guille sits alone watching everyone as he remembers his kiss with
Renata and cutting his hand. He walks over to Teo and asks for Renata. When Teo
tells him that Renata left, Guille wonders why she didn’t say good-bye to him.
He takes out his phone to call Renata, but decides against it. On the other
side of the room. LCJ talks to Silvina who hasn’t gone to bed because of all
the music. After Silvina tells LCJ where Vale is, he walks toward Vale and her
friend, but stops short when he recognizes Juls (Flashback to when he first saw
Juls in the trailer). His spidey sense tingling, he scales the outside wall of
the Mansion and runs across the roof. No
but…..He quickly makes an exit. Vale goes to Silvina to ask for LCJ since they
have been waiting for him for hours. When Silvina responds that LCJ had a phone
call and left, Vale tells Juls that, if need be, she will take her home.
Meanwhile, LCJ rushes into the Batcave and takes a closer look at Juls; he is
sure that Vale is El Chino’s daughter.
At
the party, Mayela gets the DJ to play a song for her. As everyone starts to
boogie on down, Vale tries to call for LCJ.
At
her rental, Lupita thanks Pancho for a nice time. Pancho tells her he’ll be
glad to take her out again. Lupita just wants to thank him for being a good
friend, especially during this time. Pancho will only be her friend if that is
what she wants; he will also give her advice and protect and take care of
her. Just then, Lupita gets a message
from Juls telling her that she will not be coming home for the night; she will
be spending the night a Vale’s house. Pancho gets a glimmer in his eyes; so
Lupita tells him not to get any ideas; she is going to bed, but wants him to
remember that he still needs to take her sightseeing.
At
Camilo’s house. Cami recalls the information Pedro gave him about Karla…how she
used to bleed from her neck and stain the pillowcases; she would try to hide
the pillowcases, but he would find them. When he would ask her about it, Karla
would refuse to say anything. Pedro also told Cami about some horrendous
episodes that Karla would experience…she would get extremely high fevers. He
expected her to change, but she didn’t...it was horrible…she suffered so much
in her last moments. Just then Berta, the housekeeper comes in; so Cami asks
her to sit down. He wants her opinion of his work and his research…and his book
which he gave her as a gift. Berta confesses that she has not read the book,
but within her family, very strange things have occurred and that scares her.
Cami would like to set up some consultations with her; she might be able to
help him with his second book. When she asks if the second book will be about
the same thing as the first book and Cami admits that it will; Berta thinks it
would be interesting, but she prefers to respect the dead. Cami graciously
accepts Berta’s refusal and bids her a good night. Next on National Geographic, ‘Secrets of the
Dead’….
At
the party, Silvina and a security guard empty out the room. Vale complains
because she wanted to continue dancing. Meanwhile, in her room, Lucía is in the
edge of her bed feeling disgusted and regretful. She crawls over to Johny who
is completely spent and asleep. She wakes him and tells him that the party is over;
so he has to leave. Johny doesn’t want to leave; he can tell Fabricio to take
care of his car, but Lucía insists because she fears that the kids will see him
there. After she tells him that she is serious, Johny concedes. As Lucía sees
Johny out of her bedroom in her robe, LCJ watches from the batcave and listens
as Johny tells Lucía that he had a spectacular night. Johny continues that some
day he will shout to the world that he wants to be with her forever.
In
her bedroom, Vale puts on some music so she can continue dancing. Juls wonders
where she gets so much energy. When Vale tells her that she got it from the
“candy” and wonders if Juls didn’t get the same effect, Juls responds that it
did affect her, but she got somewhat nauseated. Vale insists and pulls up Juls
close to her so that they can dance. Vale then wants to play a touching game
and they both end up sitting on the bed.
From
the batcave, LCJ watches as Johny goes downstairs and calls out to Fabricio.
After Fabricio shows up, Johny reminds him to keep his eyes open and to tell
him if anything happens.
In
Vale’s room, Vale is lightly touching Juls and gets closer to her (almost
kissing range) when Guille walks in. Vale invites him to play with them. After
Guille asks if she is plastered and refuses to cooperate, Vale wants then all
to go swimming, but Guille doesn’t think it’s a good idea. Juls wants to go
home and asks if someone can take her. Guille thinks all the chauffeurs have
left, but offers to get her a taxi. Vale pleads that she stay; she still has a
lot of energy and doesn’t want to stay alone. After Guille leaves, Vale asks
Juls to help her out of her blouse. Juls agrees and slowly pulls Vale’s hair to
one side as she looks at her soft neck.
In
his bedroom, Guille picks up the book LCJ gave him and starts to read the
inscription, “When death separates us from what we most love, it is difficult
for us to understand…”
LCJ
is in a vehicle leaving the Carvajal complex. When he comes to a stop so that
Fabricio can let him out, Death Chick watches from a distance as LCJ wipes
blood from his neck. After Fabricio asks if LCJ why he didn’t taken Vale’s
friend home, Death Chick disappears, a black butterfly flies out from the
vehicle, and LCJ sarcastically tells Fabricio that he is supposed to know
everything…and by the way, Fabricio can get ready to follow him since he (LCJ)
is going home.
Next
Day—
In
San Antonio, Beltino wakes up Barbara and tells her they have to leave NOW.
After Barb complains that it was her first night as a millionaire and she had a
bad night, Beltino makes it clear that he is the only millionaire there. He is
only going to give her 10%; and because she keeps messing up, he may give her
less. Barb reminds him that she almost got killed; he should give her more and
she won’t leave there until he gives her more. Beltino thinks that’s
perfect…she can stay there. Barb then must have remembered a Bang! Bang ! yesterday
in the jungle. Barb quickly grabs her
bag and tells him he isn’t going to get rid of her that easily. After Beltino
goes outside to look around, a goon calls Canito and tells him that the
professor has been there all night; so Canito tells him to get over to where he
is because they can’t seem to find Patas who hasn’t shown up.
At
the Carvajal home, Vale wakes up and sees that Juls is awake. Juls thinks it’s
time that she go home, but Vale doesn’t want her to leave; she is famished.
Juls insists that she needs to go home; so Vale tells her that she will ask
that someone take her home. Vale calls Fabricio; and Fabricio tells her that
Alirio is available. After Juls exits the house in jeans and a blouse (what
happened to her dress; she took a change of clothes?), she looks up at Vale’s
bedroom and thinks about Vale’s touching game. Alirio drives up and helps Juls
into the vehicle; Juls still thinks about being with Vale and watching her
sleep.
Inside,
Vale tells Guille that she doesn’t know how so many others came to the party;
Lucho invited the…and she didn’t even invite Lucho. Silvina approaches and
Guille thanks Silvina for chasing everyone else out. Vale then wonders if
Guille’s night ended with Mayela, but Guille avoids the question by telling
Vale that he liked Juls…she’s cool. When Vale comments that Juls want to be a
fashion designer, Guille remembers that his father who had a friend who was into
fashion design. After Silvina responds that the lady’s name is Rafaela, Guille
suggests that Vale introduce Juls to her. Guille also remembers that Rafaela
has a school. Just then, Eva walks in wondering if Guille and Vale are hung
over; Guille wonders if she is rancid. Vale laughs.
Cami
and LCJ walk at the cemetery. LCJ complains that his son, whom he thought was
the bread from God, is a criminal who was involved in a shooting and his
daughter, whom he thought wouldn’t hurt a fly, is an alcoholic. He can’t sleep
well or rest...and then he thinks of his best friend making conjugal visits
with his wife. After Cami brings up the coincidence that El Chino’s daughter
show up, LCJ responds that he has no idea how she and Vale became friends. LCJ
worries that everything is going to cave in on him; Lupita is in Mexico looking
for El Chino. If she is looking for El Chino, then she is looking for him. Cami
suggests that they need to find out how they became friends, but LCJ is more
upset that when he needed to be a father, he couldn’t be there. Cami tells LCj
to lower his voice as they approach Karla’s funeral. As Cami remarks that he
should have looked after Karla, LCJ notices the petals leading to Karla’s
burial site; they are the same as those at his burial site. And if you look up
fellows, there is probably one of those infernal black moths fluttering by.
In
San Antonio, Canito and goons walk through the woods. This is where Patas was
last known to be. Meanwhile, Beltino is in his trailer praying to La Santa Muerte.
He walks to the other room and hopes he never sees this house again. As he
opens the door to leave, he steps back surprised to see Fabian aiming a gun at
him. Beltino wonders what he is doing there and asks that he lower his weapon,
but Fabián demands to know what they are doing in El Chino’s house…the man who
killed his father. Beltino acts surprised at the coincidence and tells Fabián
that there is no El Chino there; there must be some mistake. Beltino wants to
leave, but Fabián won’t have it…they need to explain what they are doing there
first. Beltino explains that they met the owner who lent them the keys to the
place. When Fabián asks who the owner is, Beltino pretends to try to remember
the name; so Barb interjects that her name is Lupita. Fabián knows Lupita who
told him that El Chino was in San Antonio…he doesn’t understand why El Chino is
not staying there. Beltino has no idea how to help him, but what he doesn’t
understand is how Fabián, being a man of the law, goes around with a weapon.
Fabián explains that that is the only way to deal with such a man. He is not
looking for him to give him a subpoena; he just wants to put a bullet in his
head and end all of this. Careful Fab,
he might come back genuinely mean the second time, then your white bread behind
is toast.
Back
in the San Antonio woods, the goons are tired of looking for Patas. They don’t
even want to think about what the boss will say when they tell him they haven’t
found him. They give up and start back, but one of the goons has to do his business.
As he goes to a tree, he spots dead- as-a-rock Patas and the other goon. Now
they’re really gonna hear it from the boss!
At
the Carvajal breakfast, Eva wonders if the spider isn’t going to join them.
Vale thinks it’s too early to listen to her…and they still have a headache.
When Guille tells her not to refer to Lucía in such a way, Eva doesn’t
understand why they defend her. Some day they will know how right she is. Vale
doesn’t want to hear it anymore, so she gets up to leave, but Eva orders her to
sit down. She wants an explanation about why the party was held. She
understands that Mayela planned the party, but demands to know why there were
so many people that they didn’t even know. Vale explains that it was not her
doing; people must have spread the word and everyone wanted to come. When Vale
adds that nothing bad happened, Eva whips out her phone and shows Guille the
picture of him and Mayela kissing…he is now the talk of the town. Everyone is
saying that the most valued bachelor of Mexico now has a girlfriend…while
everyone is still in shock because of their father’s death. Renata’s bad day actually got worse, poor
thing.
At
Renata’s apartment, Kayla looks at the picture and is amazed about how quickly
the news spread. Renata thinks it’s now official; Guille has a girlfriend.
Kayla suggests she forget about Guille and follow her granny’s advice—one nail
will take out another nail…Teo is available. Renata assures Kayla that Teo is
just her friend. Kayla insists that Teo left her several messages and was
probably worried about her; he is good guy. He wants to be more for Renata; and
the best thing is that he is free for the taking. When Renata insists that she
would rather be alone; Kayla tells her to continue that line of thinking and to
get three more cats.
At
the company, Lucía arrives at her office and is told that they have received
several requests for interviews with her…from national, European and Latin
American reporters regarding her interview with Armenta. Lucía assures her
secretary that they will have the interviews, but they shouldn’t get
sidetracked from all that has to be done. Lucía wants to have Jaramillo bring
all the production leads. Just then a bouquet of flowers is delivered. After
Johny walks in, he notices the flowers and reads the card…from Armenta. When he
sarcastically comments that it is such a nice gesture, Lucía assures him that
it is just Armenta’s way of showing appreciation after all that has
happened…and to invite her to dinner.
In
San Antonio, Fabián apologizes for scaring Beltino and Barb. Smooth Beltino!
After his father was murdered, everything has been crazy. When Beltino
indicates that they need to leave and that Fabián is welcome to stay, Fabián
notices the candle on the Santa Muerte and asks about it. Beltino explains that
his wife saw it and turned on a candle; she is somewhat of a witch. As Fabián
asks for Lupita’s phone number, Barbara notices the truck full of goons
arriving. Fabián goes to look and tells them that they are Alacrán’s men. He
turns and questioningly looks at Beltino…Oops...not very smooth Beltino...
