Amar a Muerte, 12/14/18, Episode 30: Death Plays A Hand
Parte 1~~
Renata and Guillermo are going over the day's agenda. He's invited her to go somewhere with him just as Mariela, the Long Lost Girl Buddy, shows up with coffee and goodies. Ren gets introduced. Mariela is way too nice to gripe about. She actually gave Ren a gift of some cookies so she wouldn't feel left out. So, Ren cannot gripe when the meeting's cut short so Guille can join her backstage on a news set or something.
Jules meets up with Val and tells her about stopping by the design school and how she cannot afford it. When Val suggests applying for a scholarship, Jules says that's charity and gets angry then storms off.
Lupita is working out well at her new job. Perla, the manager/owner of the place starts to gossip about Panchito and his dog of a wife: she abuses him and takes advantage of his good nature. Just then, a man with a similar haircut to El Chino's stops by the cafe. Lupi runs out to chase after him. When he turns around she sees she's made a mistake.
While Jake's at the water fountain with his back turned, Fab and PI Dude stop at the print shop next to him. He overhears their talk and cautiously sneaks a look at the photo of himself that they just dropped on the floor. They want X number of copies and bulletins and what ever. Jake just as cautiously walks away and into the nearest stairwell. He spies and pulls a fire alarm there in the stairwell and everyone's got to leave the building. "--This is not a drill."
Karladine goes to Camillo's and wants him to cure her addiction. He does a memory regression on her. We see her in her old life. We see that after she's arrested there's nothing and nobody left in her house. We see her pour the gasoline and light the match. We hear her screams and then when she stops we learn that now she's at peace and is looking out the window at people.....Suddenly she wakes. (What a let down for Viewerville!! Right before we know what happened next!)
Valentina is excited and flies into the manse's dining room. Lucia's broadcast is #1 trending topic on all the social net websites. Eva arrives after parking her broomstick and has a breakfast of sour grapes when seeing the last night's ratings.
Beltran is racing off to the airport. He tells Alicia and Javier that he'd rather take a taxi than have her drive him to the airport. However, Belchin's BFF arrives, fully recovered from the near-death beat down he got a few months back, and says he'll take him instead. Alicia is satisfied. Barbara, on the other hand, apparently is left to get to the airport all by her lonesome. Belchin' refuses to answer her numerous calls to his cell.
At the Carvajal business offices, Susana has come back to work after hearing Armenda won't be putting hits out on members of the press. She senses that Mateo is still having problems with Eva's I'm-the-elephant-in-the-room-and-glad-to-be attitude. Her globe sized ego has Mateo down and she continues to suck and to suck all the oxygen out of a room--not to mention it's causing a slow leak in their marriage as well.
Speaking of Eva, she's with El Alacran who is not a happy camper since receiving the boss's opinion of last night's interview special. He has gotten his black tidies in a wad. He's in no mood to mix bad boy bidnez with gettin' busy. Eva has other ideas, however. Mr. Bad Boy is gonna knock navels with her whether he wants to or not!! She throws him backward onto the bed......
Back at the manse, Lucia and Silvina discuss her fabulous cooking and Lucia's wish to open a restaurant some day. Silvina leaves a moment and Jacobo arrives. He congratulates Lu on her courage and cunning. Nope, not so. Only when Jake's there does she feel calm and in control.....
Across town, Fabian and his P.I. are in a coffee shop waiting for Montilla to see them again. Fabian tells his P.I. that he's playing his last card. No worries, the PI says, Montilla will see them. Fabian's having second thoughts and says maybe his wife's right; Chino Valdez has already paid for his crime once. Maybe life has something else in store for him. Just then, Lady Death arrives dressed as a waiter and replies to Fabian's comment: "--The one who has something planned is Death." She walks away with a determined look on her face. Fab and his PI, for their part, have heard but continue in the background as if they haven't.
At the airport now, Barbara gripes that Belchin' didn't let her know plans had changed. He explains. They wait in the airport and then hear that the plane's got a mechanical problem that must be fixed. Belchin' gets freaked and raises a ruckus till Barb tells him to back off or they'll call the police on the two of them.
At the manse, Val and Guillermo play a bit of tennis on their court. She hints that he and Long Lost Girl Buddy would make the perfect couple. He should start dating her.
At the hospital, Karla/Geraldine learns that Karla's dad is bad off--not bad off enough though to be unconscious and unable to hear the confession that she eventually makes about being Geraldine instead of his daughter. He doesn't understand the transmigration bit and isn't sure if he believes it or not, but he doesn't want her out of his life. She's the only family/friend he has now. Please stay?

Juliana locates the fashion design school that Val mentioned to her and gets the fliers. Way too expensive for her.
Lucho and Val argue again because she'd rather spend a lot of her time with her new friend, Jules, than him. She leaves him with his jaws flappin' in the wind.
Lucia is at the police station for her appointment with Montilla. Jake's got to wait in the wings.

Yup, Fab and PI Dude cannot wait for the building to go back to normal. Jake is hiding around a nearby pillar and overhears their discussion. They'll have to come back in the afternoon.
Lucia finds Jake and they discuss that she was about to learn something important and then this happened, so he'll need to bring her back later. They head for the car.
At the restaurant, Lupi says she thought the person outside was somebody she's been looking for. Perlita tells her that she should try putting his photo up on the internet to see who might know him and/or what news/gossip there might be.
Jules comes in and mentions to her mother that she had words with Val when telling her the school was too expensive for her to attend. Lupi tells her friends are there only to help with advice and yes, she stuck her foot in her mouth. Yes, she needs to apologize for the outburst.

I haven't watched, yet, so I'm looking forward to your recap, Jardinera.
About yesterday's discussion about Leon's dynamic with his kids: I think that when his wife died instead of taking care of the kids Leon doubled his work hours and paid the nannies to do his actual work at home. Lucia just arrived in their circle, she couldn't have been the cause of the rift.
In the first episode I was a little surprised to see that Leon had a protégé AND three kids. Why the need to groom JohnnyBeTraitorous if he already had children of his own? He couldn't even tell what was Guille's major in school, how could he pretend for the boy to one day take over?
Vale surely needed and still needs a lot of care and attention.
And we keep wondering why Eva is acting the way she does: maybe her dating the bad boy was just a way to grab dad's attention at the beginning, but his obliviousness turned the whole thing into a possibly deadly situation for her.
And still now, when he should know better, LCJ still spends way more time with Lucia than his actual children who are all deeply disturbed and in pain. Simply bad parenting.

Adriana, but remember, he is still hiding who he is, so he can not just dive in as a Father, like he seems to now know he should and seems to want to do. When and if the truth eventually comes out I hopeo we see him make up for his previous lack of Daddying.

I'm feeling the lack of a touching scene (and I mean physically touching) between Luci and LCJ. It's ok for them to look at each other and for Luci to tell LCJ she only feels bold when he's at her side, but 'cmon, we haven't had a kiss since last Monday, and I should know--even though it was kind of left over from the Friday before that. Please writers, throw us some crumbs. Even a hand on her back or her touching his shoulder would be enough to carry me on.

Steve: Johny whacked Leon. He had him murdered by a waiter at the wedding and then shot the waiter dead so he couldn't tattle.
Anita, thanks, but the typos were bad. I have fixed that and a bit of grammar. As for a cut throat empire, Eva has the want but not the personality; Guille doen't have the heart. Lucia has no want but has the personality and with Jacón's "influence" will keep the thing afloat. How Johny wormed his way into León's confidence should be a part of this storyline somewhere along the way.
Jardinera, wonderfully written recap; I especially liked "breakfast of sour grapes!"

I do, however, hope that he does have a chance to get close to and "save" his kids---at least those that are salvageable because Eva is gonna be hard to save...she probably doesn't want to be saved.

The brown goat has never had a successful pregnancy, so she tries to play surrogate to the other babies. She actually got very attached to Black mama goat, so now she is helping take care of her grandnieces/nephews (I haven't checked for gender yet :-/)

Jardinera, yes, I do agree with you about needing the cheer That the patio has always given me over the last 11(?)years. I originally found Alborada while surfing the tv channels after my dad died after a two years of pain and depression the same week my older daughter went away to college . I had no idea what they were saying , and then I found melinama's (jane's) blog where she was singlehandedly translating it. I really need the patio now.

Jardinera, I'm having a hard time believing that Eva won't be "saved" by LCJ down the line. Isn't this one of the reasons he was given another chance, to see how troubled his kids really are and change things for the better?
RGV and Kirby, I agree that LCJ can't just get involved into his kids life all of a sudden and Lucia is such a damsel in distress (not to mention great to look at) that he's a little bit busy at the time.
But, I truly believe that if he paid a bit more attention he would see that his son is very stressed out (you know, covering a murder does that), his younger daughter is on the verge of life changing revelations and his oldest... oh, imagine when he realises that the guy who's chasing him in order to get him killed is sleeping with Eva, too.
And that brings me to Johnny again - why didn't Leon see Eva as fit tu run his empire? A bit macho or he could sense something was rotten inside that pretty package?
One other thing that I just thought about: if Guille told Johnny about the money laundering and Eva is the one doing the deed, why hasn't Johnny investigated? I mean, are they both stealing from the company?
Judy, I truly hope something can be done to save the site, but Melinama already wanted to close up a few years back and our passionate begging changed her mind. What could possibly be done now?

AdrianaNoel: "are they both stealing from the company? " I believe that they are--or Johny is, rather, and Eva's laundering funds. Not certain that the laundering is stealing, though, just odd handling perhaps that Guille's noted.
P.S. - Not all kids can be saved from themselves. I've seen that in these tn's also. It is not certain that Jacón will be able to save all of them. Guille is covering up an attempted murder during an armed robbery. I don't see him getting out of that without a bit of prison time--JMHO. Eva may be totally lost--again, JMHO. ;?))

Goodness! I had no idea that our patio was in danger of ending! I guess i missed that during my respites here and there. That would be tragic. Please lets do a whole session on here where everyone can BEG Melinama to find a way to let this continue. It is a form of therapy for so many of us!!!!
Kirby- what does that mean about << Leon’s long range devilish plan?>>. I didnt know he had an evil plan. I thought it was only Johnny and Eva with devilish plans???? Maybe i missed something important: It eoukdnt be the first time!!!
ITA with you guys who think LCJ cant just “enter” his kids lives at this point. He will do what can be done when the time and circumstances permit.- in my humble opinion.
I think LCJ and Lucia’s lack of CARICIAS is very much on purpose — to frustrate the heck out of us TN aficionados!! When it comes, it will be all the more sweet, if you will.

ThankS, Kirby, for the lovely flower. It was a cold, blustery, damp day here today...not weather to lift spirits, but kind hearts do lift spirits . I appreciate the chance to look at something beautiful.
