Mi Marido Tiene Más Familia, Capítulo 69, Tuesday, December 18, 2018; Back to Square One
Labels: mimarido2
Ah, young people in love! Including some very young people, namely Dave and Lupita. Their smitten smiling to each other had me smiling too, and laughing a bit also.
On the other hand, I was very happy to see Susana put Vicente in his place.
Much less pleasant was Imelda. If her religious faith is well-placed she can expect to spend a long, long time in purgatory :-)
And that doctor that Dani and Gabriel went to, I believe that was Cecilia Gabriela, a former telenovia! I hope we get to see more of her.

My favorite scene was the well-meaning Blanca presenting her precious new lion sheets and joking with Julieta about them helping out in the passion department and adding her playful growl. Then there was Julieta punching those pillows . . . As a matter of fact, I usually enjoy the Blanca and Julieta scenes.
I wonder what Crisanta is planning for Imelda . . . I hope the payback is sweet . . .
Andy, you sure called it on Imelda. She never misses an opportunity to use her “religion” just to be mean to someone.
“He then apologizes, saying he doesn’t know what came over him, [yeah right, that’s what Harvey Weinstein said too.]” was amazing.
Worst first?
“Then Imelda proudly says that their family is “traditional”. [What, as in pretending your husband is dead when he is not?]” said it all, and so wisely. I’ve tried not to be too harsh on Imelda but what she said to Gabe and Dani was unforgiveable.
Your screen shots are always excellent but your image of Audi’s bone chilling stare directed at Ari negated the necessity for any words. One of the bleakest scenes of last night.
“Axel and Iker argue over Linda again. [What in the world do they see in her?]” Exactly! Different strokes for different folks…
Now, let’s get to the goodfun.
“Catalina…tells Hugo and Diana she is going to go eat with a younger and handsome man”. You go girl. I really like her with Tavo! He brings out the best in her – not an easy feat! Their chicharóns spillage scene was fun to watch.
“Blanca shows Julieta the firm pillows and Julieta punches them over and over again”. Loved it. Did I imagine a slight smile on Diana’s face? I hope the actors have as much fun with these scenes as we have watching them.
I'm struggling as to whether it might be best for Temo to return to his "other" family. He is wretchedly miserable and in the face of Julio's hostility and his unrequited love for Ari, perhaps a change of scenery will do him good?
And Susana needs to straighten out Sebas. Nothing short of a miracle will make him accept Pancho. The longer she waits, the tougher it will be. To be fair, I'm sure Vincente loves his son but he knows he is giving him false hope by hanging around so the "family" can be together.
Loved the little whistle Robert gave while he and Pancho were talking. They may be my favorite couple yet.
Cynthia, you hit it out of the park. Thank you!
Diana
. He then apologizes, saying he doesn’t know what came over him, [yeah right, that’s what Harvey Weinstein said too.]
Just horrified by the role they are giving Imelda these days...her pontificating about Gabriel not being man enough for Daniela because of a low sperm count is just disgusting. Mind you, there are lots of people who still believe sterility is grounds for divorce or annulment, but still. Was the character this unlikable in the first series?...surely not.
Anyway, great recap and of course great news that CarayCaray and the patio will continue. Muchas gracias Anita and Crew!
I guess moving back in with your parents has happened to many people. That did not happen in my family, but even kids coming home from college over the summer requires adjustments for everyone involved, so this situation could be stressful.
I must replace my 20+year old microwave....any recommendations on a good make?
I can't stand Imelda. She's a horrible person, always has been. She was the one who demanded, in the first season, that the family NOT celebrate Dani's birthday, for 34 YEARS(!) because she was born on the day that Juan Pablo disappeared - and the rest of the family "agreed" and followed her dictatorial wishes meekly like mindless sheep. She keeps harping that "we are a traditional family" ... but I know a lot of traditional families, and they all love each other unconditionally and mind their own business and stay out of each other's intimate business!
I hope Crisanta really lets her have it!!
I really hate Imelda and her meddling. Oh she just makes me so angry! I just want to kick her around till she gets some sense into her. But kudos to the actress, Silvia Pinal, playing her because if she makes us hate Imelda, so she must be doing a good job. But boy does she get on her high horse and pontificate what is right and what is wrong. First she says that marriage is so very important to stay together no matter what. But she herself pretended her husband was dead after she threw him out and lied to her family and her community. Last season she got on Marisol’s case about leaving Icknacio when he took up with that slut. She criticized Daniela for moving out while their marriage was having problems. Now that they are back together she thinks Daniela should dump Gabriel because of infertility? This woman is just evil! Last season I felt badly that she might have died at the end of the season. Now I wish she had…. ;)
Oh and Audifáz made me so angry! It reminded me of how I was shunned when I left the Watchtower organization. Shunning is a very cruel manipulation tool.
Vicente needs to tell Sebas that he and Susana are not getting back together. But somehow, I think he will continue to make Susana look like the villain here because he looks down his nose at Pancho. Go back to Africa, Vicente!
I think Catalina and Tavo are cute together. Maybe we will be treated to a wedding at the end of the season? The job has been good for Catalina and I think this is a good relationship for her.
Well maybe it is good if Temo gets out of town for a while. He is very depressed and maybe some counseling and new surroundings would do him some good.
"Then Imelda proudly says that their family is “traditional”. [What, as in pretending your husband is dead when he is not?]" was my favorite, along with your Weinstein comment.
It would be nice to know what led to Susana & Vicente divorcing. He seems like a real slimeball, not to be trusted.
Imelda is dead to me.
Does anyone else see Julieta's renter asking for a lower rent as a red flag? I. hope. I. am. wrong. about. this.
WHY oh why is this Linda/Axel/Iker storyline still a thing? Silly filler masquerading as storyline.
Oh, poor Tavo, whose shirt is a shining example as to why I will not eat a tostada. LOL
I guess Imelda forgot all about the trouble she triggered years ago in telling Tulio to dump his wife cause she couldn't birth babies.
Julieta, way to go to turn off your momma in law who's pulling out all the stops to help.
All in all a good episode, even with Linda.
Judy, I recall Imelda was not the kindest person in the first installment, but she has been cringeworthy here. I really like Cynthia's "pontificating" as that sums her up now exactly. The devastated look on Gabe's face was just horrible to watch. She keeps making the same mistakes and repeating her errors, without repentance. I think it's time this matriarch retires.
And Cynthia, please educate me. I thought shunning was when you were totally ignored as if you weren't there. I thought that included not being looked at or spoken to. But if you are using that term in conjunction with Audi, I gather it is not completely limited to the silent treatment as he purposely and willfully stared at his own son with ice cold indifference. Finally, I'm sorry you had to endure what you did.
susanlynn, my microwave is not quite as old as yours so I can't give any recommendations. Also, all of my friends kids have returned to the roost. Some to try and scrape together enough to rent an apartment (with friends). Others to pay off their school loans and others? Simply to survive. So sad.
Diana
"I guess Imelda forgot all about the trouble she triggered years ago in telling Tulio to dump his wife cause she couldn't birth babies". Another misdeed I forgot!
Well, I'm wrong again. Imelda was pretty much the same the first chapter...Sigh.
Diana
Diana, shunning can be achieved in different ways. The Amish actually turn their backs on the shunned person and shun that way. I was shunned by my former religious group with family and friends not speaking to me, giving me looks that could kill and some would actually cross the street to avoid me. (Or would cross to the other side of the mall, I guess they thought I had cooties). Mostly though, those doing the shunning think that they can be as nasty and inhumane as can be because they think they are honoring God this way. So from just pretending they don't see you, or giving you a cold dead stare for a moment to show their contempt for you, to running away from your presence are all forms of shunning. Some like to spit at the person they are shunning.
"What nerve Audi has to act all imperial when he hasn't even been able to fend for himself all these years."
I so agree! The thing about people who "act all imperial", holier than thou, etc., and treat others badly is that they themselves have low self esteem. (e.g., Audifaz) Looking down on others, treating them badly, whatever, is their own sad, sick way of boosting their own poor self esteem. It is part of the "human condition" and, unfortunately, has always been around.
And honestly? I would prefer to be ignored rather than being stared at so hatefully. How anyone could do that to their own child is unfathomable.
Diana
OT...Doris, thanks for the information. Microwaves have changed a lot since we got ours 20+ years ago. I will be happy to have a smaller one. My old one was huge and took up too much space.
Cynthia - your family are the ones who are losing out, on a relationship with you. Leah Remini's show has shown how the organization that left shuns and sometimes harasses those who leave. Such a shame, and nobody wins except the organization that uses fear to keep its members in line.
