Lucía
looks up (almost disgusted) at Johny and asks, “Get married?” Johny wants to
formalize it all and be together…and consolidate their power in the Carvajal
Group…that way they kill two birds with one shot. Lucía thinks that Eva will
have both of them killed…literally, but Johny insists that they will be married
by then. Eva won’t be able to do anything about it. They can get married
secretly and avoid a scandal, and when the mourning phase passes, they can tell
everyone. When Johny asks what she thinks, Lucía replies that that is what she
needs to do—think about it, they just can’t do everything at a whim. Johny
argues that they have nothing to think about; this is what they have always
wanted, he loves her, she loves him (Boy, are you clueless, Johny!) and they
want to be together. As he gets menacingly close to her, he questions if
someone or something has made her feel differently. After Lucía assures him
that nothing has happened, he asks her to marry him…and Lucía takes a long
pause…Johny secretly wonders why she is wearing Old Spice lately.
In
Eva’s office, Eva is on the phone with Alacrán and asks him if what the
newspaper reported is true. Alacrán was thinking of asking her to publish it,
but it wasn’t necessary; the woman’s daughter did a good job. Eva still doesn’t
understand how Alacrán runs his business, so Alacrán clarifies that this is not
business…this is a matter of pending debts, and debts have to be paid. When Eva
questions what he has to do with the woman and if she is still alive, Alacrán
angrily shouts that he has told her not to get into things that she doesn’t
understand. If the guy they are looking for shows up, no harm will come to the
woman. Eva pleads with him to stop getting blood on his hands…she’s not asking,
she’s demanding. Alacrán tells her to listen up, when she formally becomes his
woman, MAYBE he’ll let her talk to him that way, but for now she is only his
lover…and lovers have no right to be making demands (got it, you floozie? Note
that he treats Gaston better).
Vale
is with Juls at Me-la-gross’s house. Juls is very worried, she is very scared.
As she thanks Vale for publishing the report and everything that she is doing,
Me-la-gross eavesdrops from the door. Vale then tells Juls that she brought her
something for breakfast.
At
Pancho’s house, his wife is ragging on him for helping Lupita. She knows he got
Lupita the job and a place to live; she wants him to stay away from Lupita or
he will have MUCHOS problems with her. Yes, don’t lose that idyllic tranquility
you have at home now Buddy. Pancho tries to tell her that Lupita is married,
but the wife argues that the husband is involved with the narcos and that is
why Lupita is in trouble. When Pancho tries to explain, the wife tells him to
just shut up and warns him that he’d better stop seeing that woman or he will
be in deep doodoo with her (the wife).
At
the scorpian’s nest, Alacrán tells Lupita that he hopes this is the day that El
Chino will call him, but Lupita asks how EL Chino would know what number to
call. Alacrán laughs and tells her that that is the phone number El Chino would
use when he communicated with them…after a job was done. He tells her to pray
that the phone rings today because that is the only way she will get out of
there alive. When Lupita tells him that El Chino is dead and that that person
who lives in El Chino’s body doesn’t even know who El Chino is…or his wife or
his daughter, Alacrán laughs and tells her that they will have to wait and see
if EL Chino remembers her or if he is a worthless ghost. He leaves a phone with
a time running so that Lupita can see how much time she has left, the time
limit given to El Chino was 48 hours…and a day has already passed. As Alacrán
leaves, Gancho approaches and as he strokes Lupita’s hair; he tells her that he
thinks she will die and he hopes it will be him who kills her. See?
There are some true romantics left in these TNs, ladies.
At
Juls’s place, Vale tells Juls that she has been thinking about what she told
her regarding her father’s death and resuscitation. She wonders if anyone gave
Juls some type of explanation because what happened is not normal. Juls knows
it’s not normal; she and her mother tried to find out through several means,
but no one knows anything. Vale understands, but there has to be some
scientific explanation. Juls assures Vale that the doctors were the ones who
used the term “resurrection:’ this is not something that she came up with. Vale
is not doubting her; it’s just that she has an uncle who is interested in
mysterious deaths and transmigrations…he even wrote a book about it.
At
Castillo’s house, (Liquor Store guy they shot)
Guille and León/Chino/Jacobo (LCJ) listen as Castillo’s wife tells them
that her husband doesn’t want to be bothered; he doesn’t want anyone feeling
sorry for him. Guille is about to give up, but LCJ rushes in and tells Castillo
that they brought him some exercise balls and medication. When Castillo turns
away and tells him that he will no longer exercise, LCJ persists and asks him
if he likes to be pitied. LCJ then adds that the young man only wants to help
him and he is the only one that can accomplish that.
At
the company, Mayela goes looking for Guille at his office and is frustrated
that he hasn’t arrived. She asks Renata if it is normal for him to just not
show up, Renata replies that it isn’t normal…her boss usually informs her when
he will not be coming in. Mayela then puts on the charm and tells Renata that
she needs a favor. She thinks she may have overstepped things a bit (just a
bit?) during the interview she gave and her relationship with Guille. When Renata
questions the veracity of the interview, Mayela admits that part of it was a
lie, but part of it was true. She goes on to explain that she and Guille have
always had strong chemistry, but Guille is a very passive man, and that type of
man sometimes needs a little push…but in this case, it was a BIG push. Mayela
wants Renata to help her reconcile with Guille. She wants Renata to be her
accomplice…a type of Cupid for her and Guille (oh puh-lease, Renata, put your
foot down!). Renata squirmishly looks back at Keila who shrugs.
At
Castillo’s house, LCJ smiles as Guille shows Castillo the exercise equipment he
brought. Castillo is not really interested so he asks Guille that if he really
wants to help him, he should bring over a box from another table. After LCJ
gets it, Castillo tells Guille that he needs another pair of eyes to complete
the puzzle. LCJ makes an excuse to leave, and Guille gladly stays to help
Castillo.
At
Juls’s place, Juls explains that she and her father never got along. He was
hardly ever home so she thought that he might even have another family. Once
she met Alacrán, she realized that it wasn’t that her father had another
family, but rather that he was “on a job.” After Vale asks Juls if she loves
her father despite everything, Juls gets a visit from Montilla.
In
San Antonio, Beltrino and Barb arrive at the bar where Santos conducts his
business. Barb, true to nature, starts her complaining about how ugly the place
is and the people are horrible, Beltino wishes she would shut up at least for a
second. Barb notes that Beltrino seems preoccupied so he reminds her that his
son is sick, he wants to find out how the night was for his son. When Barb asks about his daughter who is
blood of his blood and his wife…and why he never asks about them, Beltrino
responds that he knows exactly how they are. After he adds that his wife was
kidnapped, he shows her the article that is all over the internet. Barb worries
that Beltrino will give them their money, but Beltrino clarifies that they
don’t want money, they want him…and if he doesn’t turn himself over to them,
they will kill his wife. Barb wonders if he is going to allow them to kill his
wife. No Barb, he is secretly planning on swapping YOU for her. Now stifle Edith. Meanwhile, at the scorpion’s nest, Lupita is
shown how much time is left. Lupita thinks El Chino will not appear. Back in
SA, Beltrino and Barb continue talking about Lupita, All Beltrino knows is that
if he doesn’t turn himself over to them, they will not release her. When Barb
asks what he is going to do, Beltrino replies that he doesn’t know. He reminds
her that he doesn’t look like himself; Alacrán won’t believe that he is El
Chino. When Barb suggests that he turn himself in and she will take care of the
money, (uh huh, wink, wink) Beltino chides her for thinking such a thing.
Alacrán will think he is trying to make fools of them…both he and Lupita will
perish. Beltrino asks that she stop torturing him with her ideas, he needs to
think. Just then, Santos shows up asking if Beltrino is the one who is looking
for him.
At
his home, Fabián finds out that El Chino’s wife was kidnapped. He tells Mariela
that some guys kidnapped her so that El Chino will show up and take her place.
He realizes that El Chino is still in Mexico.
Somewhere
in Mexico City, LCJ makes a call and asks if “the boxes” are ready. When
apparently assured that the boxes are readu, LCj gives a devilish smile. Meanwhile,
in her office, Lucía reminds Johny that there is an ongoing investigation for
León’s murder. If they get married and appear as the owners of the Carvajal
empire, they will be handing Montilla the evidence he needs on a silver platter
that they had motive for killing León. Johny thinks that all Montilla has to do
is find León’s murderer and leave them alone (uhmm, did Johny have a lapse in
memory and forget that he had León killed?). Lucía points out that Johny keeps
repeating himself, he expects Montilla to keep searching. When she adds that
they have to cooperate with the investigation, Johny agrees…he doesn’t know
what is happening to him (getting desperate?). Just then, Rosalba enters with
“the boxes”…one for each of them. They open the boxes and are unpleasantly
surprised…
In
SA, Santos plays pool with Beltrino as he asks Beltrino what it is that he needs.
When Beltrino tells him that he needs to cross over to Mexico, Santos replies
that he is in luck because he has a trip to Mexico the next day, but Beltrino
needs to cross over today. This makes Santos suspicious so he asks why it has
to be so soon; so Beltrion tells him that his son is in the hospital and he has
to get there ASAP. Astute Santos has heard that tale many times, so he tells
Beltrino that if he is in that much of a rush, he should take a plane. Santos
wonders if Beltrino wants to cross over something illegal or if he is running
from the law (all of the above?). If Beltrino tells him the truth, he will help
him. Betrino then responds that he has a significant amount of money that he
needs to cross over; if Santos gets him to Mexico City, Beltrino can pay him
well.
In
Lucía’s office, both Lucía and Johny take out a photo of them with León and a
wine bottle from their ‘boxes’. The photos have the message “There are big
smiles that hide big traitors” and are signed by León. Johny thinks that this
has to be some type of joke, but Lucía swears on her life that that is León’s
handwriting. Johny doesn’t think this could be possible and Lucía wonders when
León could have written the messages.
Lucía
then remembers being with León at a party
and worrying that she knew no one there. León surprises her and Johny by
wanting to take a picture with the two most important people in his life…aside
from his children…he wants to take this picture for all eternity. Meanwhile,
LCJ walks as he looks at the photo…it is now his turn, let the games begin.
Back at the office, Lucía is freaking out, she calls for Rosalba and asks who
brought the packages. Rosalba isn’t sure...probably a messenger service. After
Johny dismisses Rosalba, Lucía rants about León’s favorite champagne and his
handwriting, she wonders what the hell this is about…and what if he wrote this
before. Johny is completely bumfuzzled, they can’t understand this because it
is strange….they need to figure out what it is. As Johny goes to investigate
and talk to security, Lucía shakes everything out of the box looking for some
clue as to where it came from.
LCJ
returns to Castillo’s house where Guille and Castillo have completed the
puzzle. After LCJ takes a picture of them with the puzzle, he goes over to
Castillo and tells him to enjoy the second chance life gave him, and before
patting Guille on the back, LCJ wishes he could have a friend or son like him.
Castillo agrees that they can come back now that he and Guille are friends.
At
Juls’s place, Montilla sees Vale and figures that it was she who sent in the
information about the kidnapping to the newspaper. After Vale states that she
did nothing wrong other than help a friend, Montilla tells Juls that he needs
to ask her some questions, but Juls worries that what she may say may put her
mother’s life at risk. Montilla assures her that no one needs to find out about
their conversation. When Montilla asks if Juls knows where her father is or if
he will show up, Juls shakes her head and tells him she doesn’t think her
father will show up; she’s afraid that they will kill her mother. Meanwhile, at
the scorpion’s nest, Lupita is shown the article and told that her daughter
came through. Lupita knew that her daughter wouldn’t let her down. Back at
Juls’s place, Montilla hopes that Juls will notify him of any new developments,
and Juls pleads that he doesn’t do anything to place her mother’s life at risk.
After Montilla assures her that his job is to keep people safe, he looks at
Vale and adds that he doesn’t place people’s lives in danger. He then asks Juls
for a glass of water (leave us alone, child!). When Juls leaves, Montilla warns
Vale not to be around these type of people; it can be dangerous. Vale assures
him that she can take care of herself. After Montilla leaves, Vale tells Juls
what Montilla told her, Juls thinks he has good reason, but Vale is adamant
that no one will separate her from Juls.
Guille
and LCJ arrive at the company. As they walk, Guille admires LCJ for the way he
was able to talk to Castillo; he knew exactly what to say to him. Guille
sometimes gets the feeling that LCj speaks as an older person—a person with
much experience. LCJ chuckles and thinks that that is probably why he was able
to get through to the man. When Guille comments that experience is what he is
lacking, LCJ responds that experience comes by living. LCJ then tells Guille
that he will be there for him as if he were a family member. After Guille
thanks him, Guille thinks it is the least he can do for Castillo after what
happened and the guilt that he feels. LCJ remarks that no one would have shown
even half of the repentance that Guille has shown…and that speaks well of
Guille. He then adds that life is short, and Guille shouldn’t bother with
things that don’t matter. Guille shouldn’t listen to what others say, he should
listen to his heart. Inside the company, Teo brings a pensive Renata some
breakfast. As Renata gives him a hug of appreciation, Guille walks in and sees
them. He stomps past them as he says ‘good morning’ and goes into his office.
Teo and Renata quickly separate as
Guille slams his door shut. The teacher
warns Renata that if she and Guille cannot behave they will not get a cookie at
recess. Finish your coloring.
At
the production room, Mayela is taking a selfie when she is told that Guille
just arrived. She quickly calls Renata and asks her to tell her Guille’s facial
reaction when he sees her gift. Renata walks over to look inside at Guille who looks
annoyed and pushes aside the box of sad-faced cookies that Mayela left for him.
Renata, however, tells Mayela that he liked the gift. After Renata ends the
call, Keila comes over and asks why she is helping Mayela…or wasn’t it enough
that Mayela took what Renata wanted? Renata sarcastically asks if Keila thinks
she should have told Mayela that she wouldn’t help her because she is
fascinated with her boyfriend! Keila
thinks that’s exactly what Renata should have said.
Elsewhere
in the company, Johny is storming out of his office when LCJ approaches and
gives him a friendly greeting…which Johny rudely ignores as he stomps off. Just
then, Eva appears with a big smile and asks to talk to LCJ in her office. Once
inside her office, Eva tells LCJ that she is a very direct person…no beating
around the bush. When she asks if his job is to exclusively work for Lucía, he
clarifies that he works for the family. Eva confesses that Fabricio has
indicated that the spider always requests his services and not Alirio’s. After
LCJ notes her use of ‘the spider,’ he wonders if that is how she refers to Doña
Lucía. Eva wants to confide in LCJ because he seems to be likeable and she
trusts him…this is something that she doesn’t tell just anyone. She continues
that her father always told her she was very intelligent and had good
intuition. LCJ smiles and tells her that her father must have had good reason
to tell her that. Eva knows from Camilo that LCJ knew her father and that her
father wanted him to work for them; so his loyalty should be to her father. She
supposes that he wants to work for them, or rather, with her family. When LCJ
assures her that she can trust him, Eva asks him to be her eyes and ears in the
company as well as at home; she wants a detailed report of everything that
Lucía does…where she goes, who she talks to, everything she says, Eva wants to
know absolutely everything about her. (Uh, there may be a few tidbits he has
come across lately that you might NOT be interested in.
And in return you will keep him in the loop as to what
Alacran and Gaston are doing? Right
Eva?)
Johny
rushes into Lucía’s office and tells her that he found someone who can find out
where the packages came from. He then tells her that he just ran into her chauffeur
in the hallway and he had this odd smile, it was strange. When he wonders if
LCJ could have orchestrated everything, Lucía thinks not…how could LCJ have
access to that photo? Johny hypothesizes that LCJ lives with Camilo and could
have gotten it there…and he could have found a sample of León’s handwriting
also at Cami’s house. Lucía isn’t convinced, she thinks that the whole thing is
macabre. Johny is at wit’s end because he keeps thinking about it and can’t
make heads or tails of it, whoever sent the packages is probably the one who
sent him those other notes he received.
Lucía agrees and thinks that the person not only knows about what
happened with León; he also knows about their relationship…and can ruin
them. Jaws Music?
In
Eva’s office, LCJ agrees to help Eva but thinks that the situation can get
uncomfortable. Eva points out that this is the perfect opportunity for LCJ to
show his loyalty. When she asks whose side he is on—the Caravajal’s family or
Lucía’s, they are interrupted by a call from Alacrán who only wants to tell her
that he has been thinking about everything he will do to her when she goes to
see him. LCJ observes as Eva blushes and laughs. As she tells Alacran that she
likes the idea, she turns to look at LCJ and tells Alacrán that she will return
his call later. Eva then asks LCJ what he has decided, so he tells her that he can
count on him.
In
Lucía’s office, Johny is like a
rat when the trap door has closed and it frantically races back and
forth in the cage stopping to gnaw at the metal rods of the trap. He is desperate and can’t think of an explanation.
Lucía then suggests that it could be Armenta; he investigated her and knew
things about her that not even León knew. Johny had thought about that, but
then he considered the handwriting and everything else; it would have to be a
very macabre plan that took a lot of time and with someone on the inside. After
Lucía is called to a meeting with Jaramillo, Johny calms down and tells her to
inform him of anything else that happens...and she should put the photo
away. Yep, like when the shark ate the
boat and he is floating around with that one tiny life jacket.
In
SA, Beltrino and Barb wait as Santos goes to get his truck. Beltrino can’t get
Lupita out of his mind, he doesn’t want her to be killed. When Barb suggests
that he call the narco, Beltrino reminds her that his voice is different; they
won’t believe it’s him. Barb then suggests he communicate via text message.
Meanwhile, at the scorpion’s nest, Alacrán goes to see Lupita and asks her who
took the timer. He wanted it there so she can know how many more hours she has
to live. When Lupita pleads that he not kill her so that her daughter won’t be
alone, Alacrán tells her not to worry…he’ll just kill her daughter too so that
she won’t suffer from missing her.
Yeah, you gotta love a simple solution to a complicated problem, Loopi.
At
the company, LCJ looks at the article about the kidnapping. He thinks about his
conversation with Cami and how he told him that he could just stay with his
arms crossed. He then thinks about seeing Lupita and Juls for the first time
after his transmigration. He then catches Lucía watching him through her office
window. She goes to him and asks if he is the type of man who, after an
incredible night, doesn’t even bother to send a message to ask how she is. LCJ
coldly reminds her that they are in a public place and even the walls can hear.
LCJ walks off but Lucía runs after him and tells him that she doesn’t
understand how he could just leave yesterday, he didn’t even say good-bye. LCJ
explains that he doesn’t like sleeping in another man’s bed and much less that
a third man calls her. Lucía truly doesn’t understand, she was very honest with
him yesterday. She opened up about her feelings and told him the truth. LCJ
assures her that he was also sincere, but he thinks he made a mistake…because
they are completely different and they will never understand each other. When
Lucía tells him that she does not agree, LCJ dares her to go get her purse so
that they can get out of there together. Lucía thinks that would be crazy, she
can’t do that. LCJ then suggests that they should go talk to Johny, but Lucía
wants him to leave Johny out of this. Do as I say, not as I DO? Loo? Lucía continues that LCJ doesn’t know her well
enough yet; her life is insane right now. She has to respect her husband’s
memory (by sleeping with two different men in her husband’s bed?) and look
after his company, his house and his family. LCJ applauds her performance and,
as he tells her that she has her performance down to perfection, Jaramillo
approaches and tells Lucía that he has been looking for her. Lucía leaves with
Jaramillo for her meeting as she looks indignantly back at LCJ. I thought I heard applause all the way from
Viewerville!
At
the scorpion’s nest, Alacrán, Gancho and Mugres are sitting playing poker.
Mugres is laughing about the players he killed at the soccer field, but Gancho
thinks he didn’t kill any because he doesn’t know how to kill. Alacrán brags
that he killed four. When Mugres bets that El Chino won’t show up, Gancho pulls
out his weapon and points it at Mugres as he asks how he is so sure that Chino
isn’t showing up. After he asks Mugres if he knows something that they don’t
know, Alacrán gets a message: “I’m waiting for you, coward.” He tells Mugres
that El Chino just appeared, he lost his bet.
