Beltrino was on his way back to the hospital where he left Valerio’s daughter.
Beltrino arrives at the
hospital and asks for the woman he brought in. When he goes to her room, V’s
daughter is conscious and stable; so Beltrino approaches. She tries to call for
help, but Beltrino tells her not to yell out and tells her to listen up so it
can be clear…”I didn’t kill your father; he died performing a strange ritual.
You are here because of your own doing; you wanted to take the gun and it went
off. It was an accident of the most dangerous kind; you could have left you
child. This is what we’re going to do. (He hands her an envelope of money).
This is for you; it’s enough to pay for your treatment and your son’s
education. And you also won’t look for me again and you don’t know anything about me. Be very grateful
that in this life, I have a good attitude because, if not, you wouldn’t be looking
at me.”
In her bedroom, Vale
talks to Juls on the phone. She is panicking because there have been so many
murders close to her family. Juls assures her that nothing will happen since
there is so much security at her house. When Vale tells Juls about Lucho making
a scene and accusing her of having something with the chauffeur, Juls laughs
and wonders how Lucho could have thought that. After Vale explains about
hugging LCJ, she comments that ever since her father died, she hasn’t been able
to breathe. Juls tries to comfort Vale and tells her that she wishes she could
be with her, but she can’t leave her mother alone. Just then, Juls hears the
doorbell and has to end the call.
At Renata’s place, Keila
pleads with Renata to not answer any of Guille’s calls; he needs to suffer.
Keila suggests that Renata block his number so she won’t see all his calls.
Later they can watch a romantic comedy and have snacks…they can cut their veins
together. As soon as Keila leaves, Renata hears her phone ring; it’s Guille,
but she doesn’t answer and blocks his number. Guille tries to call again and
hears that she blocked him; he sighs heavily in disappointment. Chick

At the hospital, Alicia
and Octavio’s wife talk. After they talk about Javier, O’s wife asks about
Beltrino. Alicia replies that he has been there, but sometimes his mind is
elsewhere. When Alicia shares how she found Beltrino with Rosita and that they
were flirting with each other, she also tells O’s wife about Beltrino’s excuse
that Rosita is failing his class and was trying to “make points.” O’s wife
assures Alicia that that happens very often with students who are failing, but
Alicia insists that it was more than that. She adds that if it had happened
prior to the accident, she would have believed Beltrino’s excuse, but now with
the change he has had, she has doubts. O’s wife then tells Alicia that she
needs to take better care of herself; Alicia has been so focused on taking care
of her family that she seems to have let herself go. When Alicia assumes that
O’s wife is suggesting that she wear make-up and more provocative clothes, O’s
wife clarifies that Alicia just needs to take time for herself…she needs to
love herself; and when she sees the strong, intelligent, beautiful person that
she is, she will regain her self-esteem…and her confidence in her
marriage. Rearranging chairs on the
Titanic.
At Barb’s place, Barb
wonders if V’s daughter will do what Beltrino asked. Beltrino doesn’t know, but
he gave her a lot of money so he doesn’t think she’ll talk. When Barb asks if
V’s daughter will recover from the shooting he gave her, Beltrino insists that
he didn’t shoot her…she struggled for the gun and it went off, but Barb doesn’t
believe him. Beltrino gets agitated and tells her to do what he came for…ask
the spirits or whoever she needs to if his son will live. Barb agrees to start
and concentrates, but then she asks Beltrino whom she should summon…as when a
client comes in, they always have someone she can call upon. When Barb suggests
that he call upon one of the individuals he has killed, Beltrino thinks she’s
crazy…they won’t want to help him. As Barb is about to insist, she suddenly
stops and slowly turns…Death Chick is standing before them. Beltrino wonders
what is happening and who is there. Barb tries to shush him, but Death Chick
tells Barb to let him ask. When Beltrino asks if his son is going to survive,
Death Chick tells Barb that Javier has his fight, just like all of them;
salvation can come after many lives. Barb looks shocked as Death Chick continues
that one has to accept destiny without questioning so much. Barb still looks
mystified as she looks from Death Chick to Beltrino; so Beltrino asks what is
going on. Death Chick adds that he should open his eyes to his own destiny; the
time he has left to live depends on that.
Talkative little thing these days, yes?
Barb, jaw on the floor,
looks at Beltrino; when she looks back at Death Chick, she is no longer there.
Barb then tells Beltrino that the lady said that Javier has his own destiny,
the one whom he should worry about is himself…and that he should take a good
hard look because he doesn’t have much time to live. When Beltrino asks how
long he has, Barb only shakes her head.
At Silvina’s house,
Lupita brings Pancho some coffee. He can’t believe that all his life, all his
world, is in that small bag. Pancho, where is your car, and lawn mower and your
goats? Lupita offers him the use of the
couch...for now; it’s the least she can do for all he has done. She was
thinking she was the only one who had problems; she was very selfish. Pancho
didn’t want to worry her with his problems. When Lupita assumes that his
problems were because he helped them, Pancho assures her that was not the case;
his problems started when he first met Brigida. They met a party, had too much
to drink, slept together, and she ended up pregnant. That’s how it all started;
he wanted to act responsibly. They lived together, but they didn’t know each
other. They never got along, much less fell in love. In the beginning, it was
tolerable, but as the years passed, Brigida became embittered. He didn’t want
to be home; he wanted to avoid problems. Only he and Brigida are responsible
for their bad relationship. If it weren’t for his kids, he would have left
Brigida a long time ago. After Lupita tells him he did the right thing, Pancho
admits that he was happy to see her again because he took it as a sign that he
needed to make a decision…to make a change in his life. Lupita smiles and goes
off to get him some blankets.

At the Carvajal home,
Juls arrives to see Vale; she was able to get away since Pancho arrived at her
house. After Vale thanks her for coming, Vale invites Juls upstairs (Ay, no,
ladies…no nookie!)
Johny is at his new house
with huge wall-size windows and is talking to Lucía on the phone as she tells
him that Servando mentioned that she had blood on her hands. When Johny
questions if Servando was referring to León, Lucía takes offense since she
doesn’t have anyone else’s blood on her hands. As they talk, LCJ is outside
sitting on the lawn as he grabs his pistol. As he staggers closer to the house,
Johny tells Lucía that it doesn’t make sense that Servando would be talking
about León. LCJ watches Johny from afar as Johny listens to Lucía insist that
Servando knows many details about her and he has the resources to investigate
anyone. As they continue to go back and forth, LCJ staggers closer, takes aim,
and starts his shooting spree.
As Johny whisks off like
at skeered rat, Lucía hears the shots and asks what that was, but Johny is too
busy trying to hide to answer.
He goes for his gun as the security guard shows
up to see if he is okay. After he tells them to go check the grounds. Johny
then tells Lucía that he is okay…someone tried to kill him. Lucía thinks it was
Servando, but Johny isn’t sure; he’s going to find out. Outside, LCJ manages to
get to the street and hides in a car covered with newspaper?? He notices that
his butterfly is bleeding as Cami leaves a message to return his call and to
tell him not to do anything crazy (too late, Cami!). That butterfly must not know the back story.
At Renata’s place, Teo
arrives with everything needed to make Renata a dinner that will make her
forget everything…and to apologize for his earlier remarks. Renata wonders if
he can prepare something that will heal her heart.
At the hospital, Javier
and Alicia are fast asleep when Beltrino slowly and quietly approaches (though
we are first made to believe it could be Death Chick) Alicia and gives her a
kiss on the cheek. After he goes to lay beside Javier on the hospital bed,
Alicia wakes up and smiles at the sight.
In the kitchen of some
restaurant, Mateo pays off his contact who set up the meeting with the
informant. When the contact walks away and tells the informant that Mateo is
there, the informant stabs the contact as he tells him he did very well. As the
informant approaches Mateo, Mateo steps back in fear. The informant asks,
“Where are you going, Princess? What do you want to know?” Mateo asks why he is
doing this…is it for money? Gancho removes his hood and turns and grabs Mateo
by the neck and hisses that if he knew just a tiny bit about the things he has
done, he wouldn’t even talk to his pillow about him. In case you don't have your Goonapedia handy,
Gancho is Alacran's right hand goon.
Eva is in bed looking at
the company website, but gets bored and texts Alacrán. They are about to start
sexting when Guille walks in on her. Eva chides him for just walking in without
notice, but Guille snaps that she can’t be getting into his personal life. Eva
pretends to not know what he is talking about, so when he mentions Renata, Eva
emphasizes that that is not his personal life…that is work-related. Guille can
go along with that …Renata’s work is impeccable. Eva doesn’t agree because a
good secretary does not sleep with her boss. (There's a lotta bad secretaries
out there then Eva.) Guille doesn’t want
to hear any of her arguments; he came to tell her that she cannot decide who
works with him...and if Renata doesn’t return to her former assignment, he will
resign from the company. Eva doesn’t think he would dare do that…that woman
will not go back to work with him; she has decided and it’s her last word.
Guille tells her that then he will leave; he never wanted to work there anyway.
Eva is in disbelief that her little brother stood up against her. Rolling
around with Renata grew some hair on his chest, it seems.
At the restaurant
kitchen, Mateo asks if Gancho knows how the money laundering is done. Gancho
wonders if that’s the smartest question Mateo can come up with. Mateo then
asks, “How long have you been working for them?” Gancho: “Enough time.” Mateo:
“Do you work directly with El Alacrán?” Gancho: “That is none of your
business!” When Mateo explains that he needs to know that his source is good,
Gancho wonders if his facial expression shows that he is playing. Mateo isn’t playing either, but he needs to
know who he is. Gancho offers to put a bullet in him so he can know who he is.
When Mateo thinks they won’t get anywhere, Gancho tells him that he will leave
then; so Mateo asks if the company they are using is from Mexico. Gancho thinks
that that is the first intelligent question he has asked. Mateo then asks if it
is an influential company; so Gancho tells him it is…it’s a company that has a
TV station, a newspaper, various businesses…and the biggest business they have
is with them. When Gancho tells him it is the Carvajal Group, Gancho wonders if
it sounds familiar to the princess (Mateo).
Boom, the first mortar shell lands.
At the Carvajal house,
Lucía is letting out all her anxiety and frustration on Silvina because she
can’t find any chill pills in the house. After Silvina tells her that she will
send Fabricio to the pharmacy, Lucía reflects and apologizes to Silvina.
Silvina understands since there have been so many problems. When she tells
Lucía that God only sends what one can withstand, she adds that Lucía is
strong...she will overcome all the problems. Lucía sadly frowns as she tells
Silvina that she is a woman who is all alone.
At the restaurant
kitchen, Mateo asks if Gancho has any proof…what he is saying is very serious.
Gancho counters that Mateo is the reporter; he needs to do his job. When Mateo
asks for the name of the contact at the company, Gancho thinks his time is up
and starts to leave, but Mateo asks for at least a lead or he won’t be able to
do anything. Gancho quickly turns as he pulls out his weapon and points it at
Mateo.
He then
lowers his weapon and tells Mateo, “It’s a woman...one of those powerful ones.
El Alacrán sees her frequently; that is your lead.” Gancho starts to walk away
again. When Mateo reminds him of his money and asks who the woman is, Gancho
grabs the money and walks away without saying another word. Mateo takes deep
breaths as he is glad he is still alive.
Mateo's butterfly must be sizing up a nice spot on his neck about now.
At
Cami’s house, LCJ arrives laughing. Cami chides him and has no clue what could
be so funny since he almost killed Johny. After LCJ throws himself on the
couch, he tells Cami that it’s better to laugh than to cry. When Cami tells him
he has no right to kill anyone, LCJ corrects him…it wasn’t just anyone; it was
someone who killed him in his previous life. Cami doesn’t believe it’s León who
is speaking; so LCJ assures him it is him, León Carvajal in Chino Valdez’s
body. Cami is agitated; he thinks León came back as a sicario to be a murderer.
When Cami reminds him that León never shot a gun in his life or had weapons.
LCJ is still chuckling and thinks that maybe the second time, he’ll have better
aim and kill Johny. Once Cami calms down, he covers LCJ with is jacket and
tells him to rest.
In Vale’s bedroom, the
girls are making goo-goo eyes at each other as they start to undress each
other. They are both nervous, but neither wants to stop. Juls thinks it’s the
perfect time to make sure of what they feel for each other. They walk slowly to
the bathroom and Vale turns on the shower.
At Hec-Maru’s house,
Hec-Maru thinks about going to the restaurant and his conversation with Roy
regarding being bullied by his father. Hec-Maru suddenly turns and gets up to
go to the mirror and sees himself (Hector).
Next
Day
Vale and Juls are fast
asleep (sans clothes). Silvina comes to the door and knocks, startling the
girls. Vale tells her to leave…she doesn’t want breakfast right now. After
Silvina leaves, the girls giggle. Juls feels odd, but Vale thinks it’s normal
since they had never done anything like that. Juls wants to leave because she
fears that someone will come, but Vale insists that she stay with her. Juls gently
strokes Vale’s arm while Vale lays her head against Juls’s shoulder.
At Hec-Maru’s house,
Maru’s mother knocks softly on the bedroom door. When Hec-Maru sits up and looks
at the mirror; he sees Maru again.
Maru’s mother enters and sees that he continued drinking throughout the night.
She talks to him formally and tells him he should get dressed for a new day.
The mother then tells Hec-Maru that she can’t go on pretending that it’s her
daughter who is in that body or have hopes that Maru will someday return; so
it’s time to make a decision. If Dr. Guerra (Cami) can’t help them, then it
would be best if Hec-Maru leave the house…because she doesn’t trust the man who
is in that body; she is afraid that Hec-Maru will doing something horrible
against his family or against her.
At Johny’s new house,
Montilla is looking around inside. Johny wonders what he is looking for inside
when everything happened outside…they wanted to kill him. (Montilla must
secretly hopeo that they send someone with a better aim next time) Montilla thinks that if they had wanted to
kill him, they would have done so…they just wanted to scare him; these people
don’t miss. When Montilla points out that “they” have something against the
Carvajal Group, Johny wonders who he thinks “they” are. Montilla has a
hypothesis that Servando is behind everything. Johny sarcastically tells
Montilla to first check out the crime scene before he makes his hypothesis.
At the company, Renata
trudges to her new desk. As she sits down, Keila rushes in asking if she heard
what happened…Guille came in early, got his things and left…he resigned!
Renata’s eyes almost pop out in disbelief as she grabs her phone from her
purse. Once calm, Renata comments that she can’t believe Guille resigned. As
she and Keila wonder what happened, Teo walks in with a bag of breakfast and
sees their bewildered look so they tell him about Guille. While Teo wonders how
Guille could have left his family’s company, Renata texts away. Keila remarks
that he certainly doesn’t need the money…and reminds Renata that she does need
the money. When Keila asks if Renata is still thinking about resigning now that
the problem is gone, Renata doesn’t know; she is very confused. After Renata
tells them that she needs time to think and walks out, Keila and Teo don’t know
what else to do to help Renata. When Teo then mentions that he went to cook
dinner for Renata the night before…and to make peace, Keila stands up showing
off her itty-bitty leather skirt and lots of leg and tells Teo not to give up
as she leaves.
Renata walks to Guille’s
empty office. As she leaves, she starts to send a text message, but then
changes her mind. Meanwhile, Guille is at home letting out all his anger and
frustration on the punching bag. He doesn’t hear his phone ring with a call
from Luisa Castillo (the wife of the liquor store owner).
At the Carvajal home,
Juls and Vale are on their way downstairs to have breakfast when Vale notices
that Eva and Mateo are already at the table, Eva is commenting that the
“spider” already left. Vale hesitates and suggests to Juls that they go
elsewhere for breakfast. At the table, Eva asks Mateo where he was last night;
he got home super late and she didn’t even know he was going to go out (you
didn’t ask Mommy for permission, Mat!). Mat responds that he didn’t want to
tell her…he was conducting an investigation. When he fudges on continuing, Eva
questions what he’s gotten himself into. Mateo solemnly turns to her and tells
her that he confirmed that the Cartel de la Sierra is laundering money with a
powerful Mexican company…with the Carvajal Group (oohhh, how es-tu-pid! Here,
take this spray can and paint a BIG red Bull’s eye on yourself, idiot!)
At the company, Johny
sits at his desk to look at his e-mail. Suddenly a series of messages pop up:
“TRAITOR” “I TRUSTED YOU AND YOU BETRAYED ME” “YOU WILL NEVER AGAIN SLEEP IN
PEACE.” Johny freaks out and calls out for Magda, his secretary. He orders her
to go get the information systems supervisor…NOW! JohnyBeRat can’t find a
corner to hide in. Maybe it was not
Armenta after all John?
At a park, LCJ meets
Lucía. After she assures him that she came alone, LCJ explains that she is
always being watched so they need to be careful. Lucía guarantees LCJ that she
knows how to escape very well. When she asks LCJ what is going on with him, LCJ
replies that he wanted them to be alone. Lucía caresses his face as she tells
him that they are alone and no one else is coming. She then asks him why he
needed to see her so urgently; so LCJ responds that he can longer stand this
farce…he doesn’t want to continue pretending while she is with Johny. Lucía reminds
him that she warned him this would not be easy. He tells her to look into his
eyes and asks if she loves him; she assures him that she does. Since the first
time she kissed his lips, she fell in love with him. She did everything she
could to not fall in love with him, but it was inevitable. LCJ blurts out,
“Then marry me!” Lucía is stunned, so he repeats, “Marry me as soon as
possible.” (Cat got yo’ tongue, Lucía?)
