Por Amar Sin Ley, Season 2 Miercoles 5/22/19 Episode 49: Gathering Forces
Labels: ley2
And naughty Nancy has clearly pierced Carlos' emotional armor. He appears unable to resist her, now that the first bulwark has been breached. And this time she wasn't packed off home afterwards, but allowed to spend the night. Gettin' serious, my lad. And just in time to be outed by el Ciego. Is Nancy in danger or is it the narco? Time will tell.
Fun to see our old couple from the first series reappear in New York to try and save the day for our young woman wronged. Like old home week.
Thanks for the recap Urban. Always a pleasure to read your prose.
Alicia had the further gall to say “Since when did you become so selfish. Ever since you lost Alejandra you have been going insane,” which got her a cachetada.
That slaps was well overdue! My guess is the friends will eventually make up, when Alicia’s eyes are finally pried open.
Yay, great to see Leonardo and Olivia again. I didn't think it was realistic for Mexico-based lawyers to go it alone on New York case without support from local lawyers.
Really, Nancy? Couldn't you have just stayed hidden at the top of the stairway and eavesdropped to find out more about Carlos's entanglement with El Ciego?
It occurred to me last night that someone should have asked Cristina whether Blums had any unique birthmarks normally hidden by clothing. That's another way to prove him a liar.
Judy, you are so right, but I think Lorena is in for a world of pain.
Could there be romance in the air for Gus and Josey? I wouldn't put it past Alonso to encourage it. It was nice to see Eugenia Cauduro so long after Un Camino.
Paula—after a well deserved slap, she can calmly go back to her book? She should have headed for a stiff drink. I remember she read a lot in VEA.
I think Lorena is going to be disappointed when Ric doesn’t return her feelings, which right now she claims is merely admiration.
I've noticed they have quit labeling Mexico City when the action goes back there. But NYC is still labeled Nueva York, Nueva York. I was so distracted by watching where they were when Leo arrived to introduce himself that I missed a lot of the dialog. I think they were on the HighLine, I seem to remember the wooden seats. It was curious how in these scenes, people around them did notice, moved slowly through the scene and even stopped to watch. When there is a loud argument on the street, as recently as yesterday in Sin Tu Mirada, people just keep going about their business. Maybe it’s the oddity of a film crew from Mexico speaking Spanish, whereas Mexico is so used to having telenovela film crews all over the place.
Yuck—it only took a few licks on the face by puppy Nancy and Carlos was all in, but he had the decency not to deskacrate the desk.
I think Alonso and Lourdes were drinking the leftover wine from the foursome at Ric’s earlier—in the same wine glasses.
That long look between El Ciego and Nancy—am I reading too much into it or did they somehow recognize each other? Oh, that’s right, she helped get one of his dudes out of jail. There must be a reason why the writers chose to have her come down the stairs to be seen by El Ciego--she had no business calling out to Carlos asking who was at the door.
I just love the way Carlos makes Nancy do all the dirty work while he sits in his office and files his nails.
JudyB—I was thinking the same thing, re. selling Alicia’s or Gilberto’s house to compensate Paula. Don’t think Paula is any worse off without Alicia. She probably can’t even play Bingo, much less read a book.
Really, Nancy? Who does that? You've just spent the night with your boss, he goes downstairs to answer the door, and rather than waiting upstairs quietly and discreetly for him to come back (in case it was real business), you traipse down the stairs yelling, "Who was that?" And didn't she call him, "Carlos, no amor?" Way to go, Counselor.
I wonder if Carlos will try to kick her to the curb once the excitement and "stress release" wears off. And I wonder how THAT will go.
Alejandra with the lady who killed her husband & the uncle snatched the kids (Texas);
Victoria & Adrian with the husband who set the wife & her mom to go to jail while he skipped off with the kid (Texas);
and now Sofia & Adrian in NYC with Cristina & Blums.
I haven't seen this episode yet; it will be fun to see Leo & Oli. I was wondering if they'd make an appearance since I knew they relocated to New York.
I can't wait to see what happens in court with this. As a point of interest when the term "sexual harassment" first came into common parlance I was working for someone who was seriously guilty. He never came after me because he knew I would fight back, but I caught him at an attempt at fondling an 18-year-old girl who was in her first job. The man was about five years younger than God but his mental faculties were intact so he could not have claimed insanity if he ever was reported to the law. She had been afraid to say anything to anyone about this. I told her later never to allow herself to be alone with him and to use that phrase in front of him if that happened again. There was a transit strike a little later that year and I actually walked to work because I was paid by the hour. I gave in my resignation during the transit strike and he begged me to stay until it was over. I told him he had to not challenge my filing for unemployment benefits in exchange.
That company now is gone and I'm sure he's long dead, but this was someone who loved taking advantage of anyone he thought less intelligent than himself. I hope his much-younger wife married him for his money and cheated on him.
I loved Leo's new "luke," while Ollie looked just the same.
I was surprised there was no episode last night. My DVR setting still showed PASL. UA gets a well deserved break.
