Por Amar Sin Ley, Season 2 Miercoles 6/5/19 Episode 58: See You In Court, Part 2

Scenes combined where it made sense to do so.

Los Angeles: Victoria, Roberto, and Adrián explained the case to someone else at the consulate. She said the case would be delicate. They described the incident. Adrián was planning on making this a test case.

Mexico City: Carlos got Daniel to calm down, telling him he will take care of this. For the moment he needed to make a statement. Alan was angry. After Daniel walked away he called him an imbecile and said it was not his fault that this happened. Carlos seemed to have some understanding of Daniel's grief but Alan only seemed to care about taking the blame. Nancy came along and asked what happened. Carlos said their client was making a statement and sternly told Alan he would see him later in his office.

Susanna was setting the table for dinner when Juan came home with Tatiana, who gushed over the place. Although she didn't say so, Susannah was not pleased to see her, despite that Tatiana was much better dressed than before. Tatiana commented on the new furniture and told her she must be so proud of her son; Susanna tersely said she was. And that working for what one has makes it more meaningful than something given. Tatiana agreed, although it was difficult to determine whether she caught the snub. Juan told his mother that Tatiana offered to help them finish decorating. He asked Tatiana if she would like to stay for dinner and Susanna echoed the invitation in a way that Juan could not mistake her displeasure. She went to the kitchen and Juan asked her to hurry back. Tatiana picked up the pitcher to pour.

Nancy went to forensics and opened a few buttons on her top for better exposure. She then slithered up to Garcia to tell him she needed his help on a case. She wanted him to rush the release of the bodies of her client's children. He told her there were different protocols for minors, of which she was aware. She seductively asked – like in the old days – if there was anything he could do. He replied that he could get her the preliminary results of the autopsies. That pleased her.

Tatiana complimented Susanna's cooking while ignoring the fact that she was increasingly ill at ease. She then said she had to leave, since her neighbor was babysitting for her. Juan said he would drive her home. He got up and left with her. [A thousand pesos says Susanna will have an argument with Juan as soon as he gets back.]

Ricardo told Gustavo that some of Carlos' most recent clients – including El Cuervo and El Chivo – work for another client of his. None of this sounded kosher to either of them although they both knew that this wasn't much...yet. They added the photos to Gustavo's wall. They needed to connect them and the Dorantes brothers to organized crime. Ricardo spoke again of Alejandra's convulsions when Carlos had visited her. Gustavo made Ricardo promise that he would back off if they didn't find a connexion to her.

Juan took Tayiana home. More gushing, this time mixed with flirting and topped off with a kiss. Juan looked bemused.

Nancy came back from Garcia's office and informed Daniel of the preliminary results. His children died of a massive barbiturate overdose. He cried out “She poisoned them!” Carlos tried to get him to calm down but he couldn't. He was certain that Rocio had killed the children. She was mentally ill and nothing she had done recently made any sense. His son had called saying she was very badly off. Nancy said that the autopsy result didn't mean she did it. Carlos said the needed for her to recover so they could question her. Daniel didn't care; he'd be just as happy to see her dead.

Los Angeles: After a long day Carmen decided to turn in. Roberto suggested they go out for drinks, but Victoria wanted to study. Adrián offered to help, so Roberto changed his plans to join them.

Mexico City: Nancy told Daniel that the best thing to do would be to wait for the full report and for the bodies to be released. Then they would wait for Rocio's recovery to find out what happened. Carlos agreed. Daniel said he wanted to kill Rocio for this. Carlos told him to calm down because he would need to be calm through all this. He assured him that he would see that the guilty party pays for the crime.

Los Angeles: Adrián, Victoria, and Roberto went over some of her study material, referencing that Mexico still operated on Roman law while the US system was modeled on English Common Law. Roberto mentioned that he and Victoria had been Alonso's students. However, when Adrián commented that this was why they all got on so well Roberto said “Actually, it's because she adores me” which did not sound right to Adrián. Victoria announced that she was going to bed because her exam was the next day, Adrián also decided to turn in, and Roberto stayed in the hotel lobby lamenting his failure to capture the icy heart of his ladylove.

Mexico City: The following morning Carlos and Nancy reviewed the autopsy report. Alan came into Carlos' office to go over the case, but Carlos said he was going to handle it. Alan said that he had called the police and given a statement. Carlos said that was all he needed to do. He told him to leave the case to him punto fin. Alan left Carlos' office. Nancy asked Carlos why he was so hard on Alan, but Carlos didn't say much. Only not to interfere with this. She agreed. She said they needed to find out how the medications were administered. For that they needed the full report.

Los Angeles: The others saw Victoria to the California State Bar Association. She went in and took the bar exam.

Mexico City: Rocio was in the hospital, her throat bandaged. The nurse allowed Carlos and Nancy to enter her room to talk to her. She asked where her children were. Nancy said they were not able to answer this. Carlos looked at Rocio and told her that her children died. Rocio looked confused and/or frightened, looked away from them, and then began denying that this could be true. She then began accusing Daniel of killing them in revenge. Carlos leaned over to ask what happened. She told him that Daniel had come over to threaten them. They argued. She remembered nothing else because she passed out and woke up in the hospital bed. Carlos asked who hurt her and she said it was Daniel. She began getting hysterical, repeating “It was Daniel!” many times until the nurse put a sedative in the IV.

Susanna questioned Juan about Tatiana but didn't find his answers satisfactory. She made it clear that she didn't want him to be with a woman like Tatiana. “Think of your problems with Fer.” He replied that Fer had dropped him and didn't want to see him anymore.

Los Angeles: Victoria came out of the exam thinking it went well, although she didn't yet have the results. Adrián and Carmen came back from the bank where they had gotten Ramon's assets. Roberto suggested they celebrate, which they might have done if Adrián didn't get the call from the DA's office. They were expected there.

Ricardo went to Sofia's home to drop off some files. Camila was still awake and she invited him to stay for coffee. He stayed and later when he cleared the table Camila told Sofia “There are so few gentlemen.” [She definitely wants this match-up.]

Nancy and Carlos got back to their office and he told her he wanted a full autopsy report, sayinig he wasn't sure now who killed the children. [Carlos, haven't you heard of Darlie Routier?]

Los Angeles: Adrián et al went to the DA's office just as the sheriff and Officer Olson arrived with their attorney, who said that “these lawyers” will not win on her turf. They got a nasty surprise when the Vega lawyers came out saying that they had just gotten the trial date: Tomorrow. The sheriff told his attorney that the Mexican lawyers tried to intimidate him. Adrián pointed out “You are the one with the gun.” This ended on “See you in court.” Olson wasn't too eager, his supervisor told him to shut up, and their lawyer said she got this and she knew the law.

Mexico City: Ricardo took his leave and Camila was pleased that Camila had such good work at a good company. He went to see Quiróz to tell him what he discovered about Carlos. Quiróz tried to dismiss this but Ricardo pointed out that Carlos doesn't typically take cases like these. Also that these two could not have had the money to pay Carlos' fees. And that Carlos never takes pro bono cases. Quiróz said he was too busy. He was investigating the murder of Alejandra and would let him know when he finds something.

Carlos and Nancy went to the Orgín home to look at the crime scene. There was no evidence of violence; everything was in order. The door had not been forced. There were children's drawings on the table. If they were attacked they knew the attacker. Nancy asked if he thought that Rocio killed the children. Carlos replied that a desperate woman would be capable of anything.

Los Angeles: The Vega team discussed the case, Victoria pointing out precedents for race hatred in US history. They were concerned that this case would end up in the crapper because the penalty for what Olson did is suspension, at worst. They needed to make this bigger in the name of justice.

Thanks Urban.

This is a tricky one.
WHO MURDERED THE CHILDREN)))))))))))
Was it mom? Or was it dad?
Mom sounds pretty crazy. But dad may
Be a clever sneak. As bazaar as some
Things are in life if wouldn't surprise me if daddy done the deed. This is a twisted case, I really want to see how this one turns out.

"....and their lawyer says, I got this I know the law". She said that with the same enthusiasm that Barney fife says it. And then she marched right up the stairs of justice. Lol.
That was a funny line they gave her to say. It was more the way she said
It. It was funny to me. It may have
Been to them to, after the director
Yelled cut.

I hope Vicky passed the test.

I hate that Carlos is on the dark side, he would be good at solving
This twisted case. He's a good lawyer. A shame he's a screw up.

Well on to the next episode.
Thank you Urban, keep em comin.

Thanks, Urban.

What a horrible case, which parent murdered their own kids. Hope they solve it pronto and move on. Nina, I too wouldn't be surprised if it's either one.

On to comic relief. Juan is such a fool. Why in heck would his mom want Tatiana's help with decorating her new home?

very interesting

I want to believe that Victoria passed the bar exam. I don't know how long it takes to find out the results in the real world.

My money is on Rocio being the killer and trying to either frame Daniel or just get away with it. Either way, he would suffer big time. The condition of the home with nothing being disturbed and no signs of a struggle points to that. I suspect that there were a lot of sleeping pills in Rx bottles with her name on them. Also look at her body language when Carlos and Nancy were questioning her. Until she began screaming she couldn't look them in the eye.

We know nothing about the man Rocio got involved with. He could have been her accomplice or it could have been a Diane Downs scenario.

I agree that Juan is foolish and is being played. That's because he has difficulty saying no to people whom he thinks need help. Tatiana knows that very well.

One more thing: Alan calling Daniel an imbecile was what made Carlos remove him from the case. That was a correct decision.

"Nancy went to forensics and opened a few buttons on her top for better exposure. She then slithered up to Garcia to tell him she needed his help on a case."

Ah UA. You know Nancy so well. And evidently so do a lot of other people! Well, the gal gets results. Gotta give her that.

I also loved this part of your recap.

Great way to convey what went down and the general mood of our two competing galans. So well done. Sure hope Victoria makes up her mind soon. I'm feeling almost as impatient as Roberto!

UA--Perfect pictures for my mind. Haven't watched the episode yet, but it's so crystal clear--down to what Nancy was wearing. Thank you. I may not need to watch the episode, but I want to--you know, to pick up any clues.

I was surprised that Rocio was alive. That was a twist. She told her boys she couldn't live without them. I never dreamed she'd kill them, too--IF SHE DID, THAT IS.

Sorry, but I find the Juan story a waste of our time. I thought it was a good storyline in the beginning, working his way out of the public defenders' office to a very elite firm. He used his connections to help the firm solve some of its cases, but now? He's off the clock, even with his short appearance on Fer's behalf. The only thing I can think of is that Tatiana is going to take him AND his ma for a ride and she'll do the driving. It's that or mess up her work in the office and her boss get angry at Juan for ever recommending her OR, she helps solve the Carlos/El Ciego case, since Quiroz is too busy with Alejandra's killing. Now he has Daniel and Rocio's dead kids on his plate, too. Can't load him up too much, now.

I could just knock jaun upside his nice head. He is too nice for his own good and it's really annoying to see him Being rolled around like playdo in tacky Tati's hands. And he can't even see he's being played. Susana is about to blow a gasket. And she don't need no help decorating her house.
Fer needs to crawl back and beg for forgiveness. And stop complaining bout
That app, and come up with a better one that will make her filthy stinking rich. Well thats what I think should
Happen. Not up to me tho.

Urban....u no your crimes...Debbie Routier and her silly string and balloons! Diane, Hungry Like a Tiger, was another horrible. Mother.

I personally can't believe that there is a faction that believes that Darlie Routier is not guilty. The silly string and balloons was so damning. Diane Downs is a monster, and so is Susan Smith.

The current ratings for this series in Mexico are good enough to justify a third season. No announcement yet but if they do that I hope there aren't any major cast changes.
