Por Amar Sin Ley, Season 2 Viernes 6/7/19 Episode 60: Romance in LA; Death in CDMX
Must see TV Monday
Labels: ley2
The things that Daniel recorded, the evil look she gave him in the courtroom, and that there is no report of Daniel's fingerprints on the scissors she used to cut herself say that to me.
After this testimony I predict the psych ward.
I think that for the rest of this season we will see Victoria play these two guys against each other. There can't be a guarantee that Don Giovanni will eventually reform. And Adrian is lying either to Victoria or to himself: Everything will change now.
For Juan's sake I hope Tatiana makes a fool of herself at the housewarming party.
Striking title. Gave me goosebumps. And as a Victoria-Roberto fangirl, this development upset me:
*A lovely post-victory (of sorts) meal at the rooftop restaurant is interrupted by one of Bobby’s ex-playmates. Vicky pulls back inside herself but shows how to be above it all by pasting on a smile and being decent to the visitor.
Loved that "pulls back inside herself" description. That is EXACTLY what we see the character of Victoria do, again and again. Pull waaay back in so she can't be hurt. If it worked, that would be fine. But it doesn't.
Another phrase of yours that I loved was this:
Adrian then starts to play the great hand of cards he's been holding.
Phooey. This fella is too slick for me. Don't like anything about him. Much prefer Bobby with his 100% murky past. And UA, you made me laugh calling Roberto Don Giovanni.
What a hoot.
Rocio-Daniel story unwatchable just because the events themselves are too horrible to contemplate. Here in our relatively small middle to upper class suburb, a father killed his two young sons simply to avenge himself on his wife. How one recovers from that I don't know. Why do humans ever believe themselves to be the superior species?
Well, enough of these gloomy thoughts. It's a lovely day here (so far) and your recap was a delight to read, in spite of the dark doings. Thanks Anita.
I’m confused..Didn’t jade Fraser, Rocio, Victoria’s friend die at the hands of her husband.. one of Vicky’s friends had sbusive husband. So why is there mention of Rocio. Marisol Del olmos is the matricide character. Help please. Rocio was In Season One.
Else.
Alonso loves those gipper speeches and
Hes good at it. Kinda boring tho.
I cant see Vicky with adrian. Looks like their life would be boring. She Wants robby, and she's playin hard to get. But he'll get her. Maybe.
Thanks Anita. Enjoy your patio ice cream.
I just checked IMDb's page for this episode and these characters are not listed. Wikipedia's page lists Marisol del Olmo as this Rocio and Mar Contreras as Lorenza. I googled photos and the ones I found identify them this way. This is most annoying.
While the cases this season are mostly more interesting than last, the writers aren't giving us much to go on in terms of backstory on the clients and the suspects. We saw that in the first week when Julian murdered his parents. It took what felt like forever to find out his motive. This was definitely intentional and had nothing to do with ratings; there was about 8 months between production and air date. Does this provoke discussion and debate on Mexican sites?
Since we don't have a flashback of Rocio actually administering the barbiturates to her children, it leaves us with some doubt as to whether she did it or not. If she did, it was unintentional and during a blackout, which might get her off.
Daniel could still have been the perpetrator, but would he have gone to that extreme to exact revenge on his wife, for whatever reason is not clear--just plain hate? Poor reason.
If Rocio had suffered from depression and anxiety for a long time, it would have been more natural for Daniel to either help her, genuinely, or to just separate and divorce her, cutting the ties. He obviously had a good relationship with at least one of his sons, who had been willing to tell him that his mother was unstable.
That's why I left the question up, did she or didn't she.
Lorenza and Fabian's case will be interesting if it turns out he is the bio-dad. Was there subterfuge involved? Why would the model go after him if she weren't sure? He, certainly, has declared he never had relations with her. Maybe it will all boil down to the definition of "relations." We've seen that before.
If he has and isn't who he says he is, he's terrific at it. He's been biding his time and not moving in on Vicky quickly, but letting it all take time. Even now, he doesn't know the whole Bobby-Vicky story, so he's not completely sure he's on safe ground, i.e. no other long-term suitors around.
Still, he could have made a better choice than Vick. Did he see a little chink in her protective armor?
She's a very one-track, career oriented professional. She doesn't seem like the domestic type like Ollie was, wanting a home and a husband and a career. Her only close friend was Ale and Bobby has been a disappointment for years as husband material. She probably tossed those dreams aside and built this protective cocoon around herself, pretending she's whole, when she does desire a stable relationship? We don't know. She hasn't exactly told us.
Then, here comes Adrian, sweet, attentive, not pushy, seemingly not a player--or not giving off those vibes. She could, possibly, see herself in a romantic relationship with him, though those work place romances don't always work out. You are left with seeing who WAS that failed relationship every day--heartbreak. Time for TEA--as JudyB stated on Mirada, tea is the Universal Solvent for Heartbreak!
I'd forgotten about Daniel railing against some new love interest of Rocio's and how he didn't want his children around that man and that is why he wanted full custody of his children. We've never seen the guy. Wouldn't he have been a significant character? In Dateline or 48-Hours, he would have been investigated and possibly put on the witness stand.
I hope that the judge hears that recording on Daniel's phone. Nobody wants to believe that a mother could kill her own children but it happens more often than anyone knows.
At Alan's recommendation Daniel recorded the argument on his cell when he went to see Rocio to try one last time to get her to surrender the children to him. She refused, saying she would sooner kill them. He failed to advise Daniel not to let her know he was doing this. In all fairness to Alan he never met Rocio and therefore could not know the extent of her mental illness.
Neither parent is a prize, but I vote the mother did it because nobody puts barbiturates in a blender.
With Adrian what you see is what you get, a nice sincere loyal guy smitten on Vicky.
Is there no place Bobby can go where he won't run into a past bedmate? Poor thing.
I would like to see the supposed boyfriend, who seems like a dark horse. But I think we're being more creative than the writers as usual. None of these cases has really had much depth -- the only surprise was who actually killed Patricia in Season 1, and I don't think they knew themselves until the last minute.
