Scenes
left in order to avoid confusion.
El Ciego shot Manuel and laughed
briefly before shouting for his henchmen and yelling out “Vega, you
will die!” Then he yelled to his men that they were leaving.
Roberto and his team were on
their way back and talking about the security videos. Juan was to
see the restauranteur in the morning about them. He then left to go
home. Victoria and her two suitors continued. She said they didn't
need to accompany her and headed back to the office.
At the reception desk El Cuervo
was carrying a box with papers while El Ciego grabbed Carmen by the
throat and told her she was to tell Alonso that he was to leave him
alone or he would kill everyone in the firm.
Alonso and his team were about to
leave the police station. He reminded them that once the police had
El Ciego they had only seventy-two hours to provide proof so he would
not be released. Ricardo said that all they had to do was put
together their evidence to show who this man really was; it should be
easy. Alonso's cell rang and it was Lorena, who was still in the
staircase. She told him about the invasion and the beating of
Manuel. Alonso asked how he was and she did not know. She had
called the police but heard nothing. Alonso told her to stay where
she was and they were on their way. Alonso turned to the others and
told them that El Ciego attacked the firm. Gustavo cursed and they
all hurried out. [I dearly hope that there are other copies of
those documents.]
Carmen went out into the corridor
and found Manuel. She knelt next to him and tried to revive him.
One of the secretaries came out and almost screamed. Carmen told her
to call an ambulance. The bullet had hit his left side, just north
of his heart. She started to cry.
Nancy went to Carlos' apartment
and told him what she found out from Javier. Carlos didn't want to
believe this at first. Then he said that they needed to make sure
the police didn't get near El Ciego. Their and the Vega firm's
attention had to be redirected at El Gringo. Nancy didn't agree; she
thought that they should do nothing at the moment. They needed to
think this through and figure it out because if he was connected to
El Ciego he'd be back in prison with no exit strategy.
Juan went back to his old home
and saw the candles burning before the figure of Jesus. He called
out to his mother, telling her he didn't like arguing with her. He
apologized. Fernanda came into the room with an armful of sheets and
a pillow. She told Juan that his mother was at her place and she was
very hurt. She had no idea how to help that. Juan told her he
wanted to talk to his mother to clarify some things. Fernanda
sarcastically said that Tatiana would take care of that. He asked
her what she was talking about.
Nancy told Carlos they had to
clean all their files. He also had to be calm and think of his own
good. He told her to talk to people at the prosecutor's office to
find out what they heard from the Vega lawyers. Nancy told him she
would be there for him.
Fernanda told Juan what happened,
starting with his mother's confrontation with Tatiana, who had been
extremely rude and insulting to her. Fernanda intervened then to put
Tatiana in her place. She wasn't sure she did the right thing but
she had been incensed. Juan looked shocked as he told Fernanda that
he knew he had been mistaken and he wanted to tell her. Fernanda
said it was a shame this didn't happen sooner because his mother was
very hurt. He was upset and Fernanda told him that things don't work
that way. You can't hurt someone and expect things to get back to
what they were right after an apology. He took her hand and
apologized to her, saying he had been a fool. She still backed off
from him, saying that she didn't know and couldn't forget what had
happened. She said it wasn't that easy and until he understood,
nothing would change. She picked up her purse and left.
That night Nancy and Carlos were
working at his coffee table when the doorbell rang. He wasn't
expecting anyone. He went to the door and heard El Ciego's voice.
He told Nancy to hide in the bedroom. She obeyed. He opened the
door and El Ciego walked in with El Cuervo behind him, carrying the
box of files taken from Vega. Carlos asked what happened. As he
poured himself a stiff drink El Ciego said “They made me mad so I
went over there and took by force what they had against me. You have
no reason to not arrange for me to avoid problems.”
Alonso, Ricardo, Gustavo, Lorena,
Victoria, and Roberto waited for news about Manuel. Roberto was
particularly adamant about getting El Ciego now. Lorena was crying,
telling Gustavo that Manuel had risked his life so she could escape.
Carlos recommended tha El Ciego
hide for the time being. That made him and El Cuervo laugh. He made
a joke about packing a bikini and going on vacation. El Cuervo drank
directly from the expensive booze bottle and El Ciego said he'd pay
for it, as he was going to pay for Carlos disposing of the evidence.
He and El Cuervo left.
Lorena was feeling guilty about
Manuel and about her actions in the office. She wouldn't be able to
forgive herself if Manuel died. Gustavo told her she did the best
she could. This didn't help.
Carlos told Nancy that they
somehow had to be ready to deal with the Vega firm. She told him
there was nothing they could do; if Vega had gotten any of this
information to the police the situation was already more complicated.
She suggested they leave town. Carlos said they could not because
El Ciego would look for them. They had to see this through. [Even
from the wrong side of Justice.]
Ricardo blamed himself for what
happened. Sofia tried to convince him it wasn't his fault. Ricardo
was determined to hunt the criminals down and make them beg for their
lives. Sofia told him no because that would make him somebody he
isn't. He railed at the injustice of criminals like this being free
while they have to be afraid. Sofia did her best to tell him that he
had to be stronger than that and said she would stick with him
through it all. They kissed. She tried to be optimistic about El
Ciego getting caught. Ricardo said that only then would he feel free
to love again. Sofia admitted she loved him.
Michelle addressed her goons,
telling them she had spoken with her brother and that he had arrived
in the US without problems. From here she was in charge and they had
to accept it or share Kevin's fate. She brandished her pistol. One
spoke up saying “Yes, boss.” She then said that they will win
the war against El Ciego. All seemed to be with her on this.
Alonso told the others that
Manuel's condition was very serious. He was in a coma and his
parents were with him. They were to try to get some rest but also to
be careful. The police were at the office so that was the safest
place to be for the moment.
El Ciego went to his current
hideout and yelled for El Chivo. He was not there and nobody there
had seen him. El Cuervo had tried to call him but he didn't answer
his cell. El Ciego told them that the police were after him but he
could not leave. He was determined to win the turf war. “This
city is mine!” he shouted. “The lawyer is in charge of
everything.” He laughed at the idea of being afraid of the police.
Victoria and Roberto were back at
the office. She was angry at the situation, as was he. He asked to
stay with her through this and she told him that was a mistake. He
was feeling guilty about Manuel and she told him that was not his
fault. He said he couldn't forgive himself if anything would happen
to her. She hugged him. Adrián came in with two cups of coffee. He
made his presence known and handed Victoria her cup. She said she
was going to try to get some rest and to get her if anything new
happened. Adrián then said to Roberto “I want to talk to you.”
Juan drove by Tatiana's place and
found her sitting outside. She addressed him as “Corazón” and
said she had been trying to reach him. He told her he had seen
Fernanda. Tatiana said “She's just jealous. She even hit me.”
She pointed to her jawline. Juan said that Fernanda did that in
defense of his mother. Tatiana said that Fernanda was lying and said
that yes, there was an argument between her and his mother, who
accused her of being a bad influence on him. She started coming on
to him but this time he took her hands off him and said “I don't
ever want to see you again.”
Adrián confronted Roberto about
his demand that he not hurt Victoria “when you were the first to do
that.” Roberto denied having done any such thing, but Adrián told
him to watch out. He said Victoria pleased him and he will fight for
her. Roberto tried to tell him that he didn't really know Victoria
but Adrián said that she had been very honest with him. When
Roberto tried to fight back, Adrián pointed out his track record
with women, that for him women were just a pastime and that Victoria
would never tolerate that. Roberto said that the way to make her
happy is to leave her alone. [???]
Tatiana turned on the waterworks
and talked about Susanna offending her. She had known about her past
and Tatiana went on about that was because she had not had better
opportunities. He was the only person who cared about her and that
was why she fell in love with him. She mentioned Fernanda and how
Susanna had come to her office. Juan turned away.
Sofia and Ricardo went to her
place. Marcela told them that things had gone well that day. She
left to go home. Ricardo took his leave.
Tatiana continued to play the
victim. Juan told her that because of how she had treated his mother
she had moved out on him. Tatiana offered to talk to her but Juan
said he had to resolve this himself. She kissed him, but he neither
embraced her nor kissed her back. She then walked away.
The following morning Alonso,
Ricardo, Roberto, and Gustavo went to the police station. Quiróz
told them that El Chivo was ready to talk. Gustavo stepped forward
but Quiróz told him it was best that he wait. It would not be good
for him to enter that room after what had happened. Quiróz didn't
charge him for the beating but this time he might not have that
choice. He waited outside as Alonso, Ricardo, and Roberto entered
the interrogation room. They told El Chivo that if he cooperated
they would make things easier for him. He wasn't impressed. They
said they could protect him. They asked where El Ciego was. He said
that there was no protection from El Ciego. Ricardo said he was
mistaken. They knew that guards were bought all the time. They also
had all they needed to put him away forever. He could also be
charged as an accomplice in crimes he may not have taken part in.
There were charges pending against the director of the prison and
they would get El Ciego sooner or later. If he cooperated he would
get a lesser sentence.
El Ciego and Carlos talked on the
phone. Carlos told him there were charges frm the prosecutor's
office, there was a reward offered for his capture, and everyone was
looking for him. He advised him to hide. El Ciego said he had an
important meeting. Carlos told him he was putting himself at risk.
El Ciego thanked him and ended the call. Before he could think
Michelle arrived. Nancy mocked her silently as she kissed Carlos,
then she left them alone.
Quiróz got in on the
interrogation, telling El Chivo that it was only a matter of time
before they got his boss. He told them that they had attacked the
firm, killed a security guard and shot a lawyer there. There were
witnesses. El Chivo still wouldn't talk. Quiróz' cell rang and he
left to take the call. Alonso took over and let El Chivo know that
if he failed to cooperate they would see to it that his life would be
a living hell.
Michelle offered to help Carlos
but he declined, saying that the case was very complicated. But he
was glad that she was there to bring him peace. [The eternal one,
eventually, methinks.] She pressed him to talk about it and he
started off vague, finally saying that his client didn't do what he
was being accused of; it was El Gringo, who is after him. She asked
if he was sure and Carlos said he was. He was sure that El Gringo
was Alejandra's killer. He wasn't going to rest until the real
criminal was caught. She then said that since this was so important
she should go so he could concentrate. He asked her not to but she
insisted. [She looked nervous.] Finally he said “Alright”
so she kissed him and left.
Victoria was trying to get work
done in the café room but was having trouble concentrating. Adrián
told her she shouldn't try to do this alone. She said she just
wanted to do her work in peace. He paused for a moment and asked
whether she had vacation time coming. When she said she didn't know
what that was he suggested that when all this was over that they go
on vacation in Spain. He wanted to be with her, see her smile, etc.
He told her he was in love with her. She almost ruined that but he
went o to say that he would never hurt her, etc. She needed time to
think.
Paula and Jaime watched the news
and heard about the hunt for El Ciego. Jaime was sure it wouldn't be
long before he was caught and they could go on with their lives. He
wanted to call Alonso to offer his help but Paula told him not to.
She didn't want to lose him, too.
Quiróz called for mobilization.
They came out of the interrogation room and Ricardo told Gustavo they
knew were El Ciego was and were going to get him.
Blue
Lass will wrap up with tonight's finale. I hope you all enjoyed my
rather long-winded recaps and I hope a series comes up where I can
impersonate my favorite alter-ego. Until then I will take a hiatus
from recapping. I do hope there is a third season of this series
because this season was better than the first. Thanks for reading.
