Caray, Caray!

Just re-read Stevey's column. It was amazing how much I had forgotten (since I was his fierce editor). A word of CAUTION: If you want to get the gist of the story AS WE GO ALONG, DON'T read past the ARROW.

I ended up skimming Sin Tu Mirada to see how close he was, but stopped when I read about Gonzalo Pena being unacceptable in the galan role. Regardless of the distasteful comments he made, he dodged a big Wrecking Ball in that tn. Instead, it was handed to Osvaldo de León, our wimpy lead, Beto.

To tide us over to the beginning of Culpable, I will be publishing the CarayCaray Lexicon for the Patio of Lowered Expectations. Stay tuned.
 

Anita - don't read past what arrow?

After reading Stevey's essay on this show, I am just so very glad Diego Olivera did not get the role and that Juan Soler did!

I loved Soler in Reina de Corazones. I'm totally burned out on Olivera. Completely. Nothing left but ashes.

Oy, Sabine Moussier doing what she does best(?), playing a BSC character. Been there, seen her do that. 😳

->The central figure in this story (meaning the person connecting everyone in the story), Franco, is NOT a chiseled guapo a la William Levy or Cristián de la Fuente, nor a bombshell heroina, but what I guess we could call a “mature” galán.

Aha--The accented "a" showed up on the comments page and I changed it here. The arrow in the original post was done in a Word doc and shows up plainly on my desktop. Well, can't say I didn't TRY to warn folks. It's not a bad spoiler. It might even be helpful to sort out all the characters and their faults right off the bat.
 

Thanks for posting the link again Fierce Editor Anita. It's amazing how much I can forget from one week to the next...make that one day to the next. This one really looks promising. Good cast and juicy plot.

WOULD YOU DO US THE HONOR OF RECAPPING THE FIRST EPISODE?

Your ability to distill in fine detail would be a great help for the initial outing, where all the characters are new to us. As I recall you always had the cast and characters well in mind, and duly listed in the past. Always knew what was what and where it was headed from the get-go.

I've been re-watching Mi Corazon es Tuyo and loving hating Isabel (Mayrin Villanueva) and then comparing her with her role in Mujeres de Negro, briefly in Corazon que Miente and now Rubi. She's quite a versatile actress, I now have to admit.
 

DECLARO

62 episodes is a nice length, 20 less than HIJAS' 82 episodes and, frankly, HIJAS could have lasted 22 episodes and that would have been sufficient.

Even though we mocked all the bikini-clad gals and shirtless guys in beach scenes, 22 episodes with more frolicking on the beach would have warmed us all. So would more of Petunia. Although watching JuanO and his back troubles brought most of us back to reality. All in all, it was fun to romp through this with our Petite Patio Pals. We all know that the worse the tn, the better the recaps. JudyB and Doris are masters at that.

Me Declaro Culpable is definitely not a comedy nor does it sound like a dramedy. Hope Susanlynn is drawn to this one as a straight drama--and there's got to be some romance in there somewhere--we've had the teaser from Stevey.
