Caray, Caray!

We start with this gem of a dialogue, worthy of Shakespeare at the very least.

The scene: Leo and Dario, separated by cell bars, both unshaved, because of fashiouuuun.

“I’m going to ask you again, for a last time, pinky promise! Are you Eugenio Serrano’s son?”

“Find out on your own, you’re a big shot cop!”

“Now, 50 episodes later, I understand what you meant when you said we had a common enemy.”

“You don’t know where to go or what to think! You’re stuuuupid!”

“Am not! Eww killed Julia and Augusto, am I right?”

“Que estupido! Like I would ever answer that question!”

“It’s for you own sake, for your venganza! Or would you rather rot in this jail, without phone privileges? Let’s work together, things could change for you! You could have a reduced sentence.”

“By how much? 5, 10 years? Neah, this no longer interest me. Guard?” 

And it’s the delinquent who leaves the decorated cop shouting for him, while he strolls away smirking, not a care in the world.

Renata is trying to remember something important, but she can’t. Majo thinks it will come to her if she calms down. Ren goes on the attack, how come Majo thinks she can solve everything with alcohol? Her sister says that’s over, she’s taking care of herself now. Ren is suspicious,  Majo mentions Dario, which startles Ren. She says Dario and Fabricio's names, then runs, she needs to think.

Leo wants to leave home with JLow, even as Sara opposes. They found Sonia!

Fab explains to Elisa some business numbers, but she wants to know about Fer’s promotion. Is she blackmailing him? Fer was her friend, but she is important to him, too. Fab explains he’s only trying to keep the company alive and Fer knows a lot of stuff about Augie. Elisa warns him not to lose her trust – he needs to give her a good reason why Fer is still around.

“I’m defending everyone from Leo, who keeps investigating everything, he doesn’t care about you, we need to keep Fer on our side”. 

Elisa gets poetic, picks up the hourglass on the desk, mentions how she loves it because it’s hugging time. Is she having a stroke? No, she’s made a decision (to be smart)! She will dump Leo, she thought about it while she was in jail. She wants to focus on the family, on working with him to save Cantu Group. Fab is overjoyed. Can she decide things if she’s technically no longer in charge, Elisa asks innocently? (Good girl,  I knew you had it in you, you’re a Cantu after all). Fab is falling for all of this so Elisa asks him to find out from Fer about the art trafficking! He knows how to convince her to talk, how to ask.

At the police station Adriana calls for Leo, while giving the stink eye to JL. Cristina scolds him for asking his transfer. He wants to start over, he’s doing it for Leslie, he doesn’t care about the investigation, they won’t find anything anyway.

Ren is checking out the medical report, has a flashback to the talk between Vic and Fab – Dario is Eww’s son.

Adriana says that Sonia is ready to give a statement (AGAIN!) and JL wants details. Sonia is going into witness protection. It’s the best option for her since she’s so afraid. Elisa calls Leo just then. Cristina looks on as Elisa says that she’s not OK and she needs to dump him (Fab is next to her) – she has a lot of problems, she needs to focus on family and the company. Leo doesn’t want to talk about  it on the phone, Elisa says she doesn’t want to see him again. He’s lost, she apologizes and hangs up. Fab is happy, thinks she did the right thing, but she wants to be alone. Cristina wants in the gossip, too, Leo tells her that he and Elisa just broke up. I’m lost, too, is this still a trick or not?

JL pretends to be happy that Leo found Sonia – did she already give him Eww’s accomplice names? Adriana has no clue and she doesn’t seem willing to give JL too many details. Leo comes back, Adriana senses something is wrong. Leo explains about being dumped. Since Sonia is safe with the feds he wants to go back home. JL is happy to drive him.

Fer opens her door to Eww, who goes straight for the throat, trying to strangle her (literally). “Estupida, you are the only one who knew where Sonia was. Maldita traidora!”

 What a pig face! Juanito looks on, Eww sees him and stops, quickly leaving.

Fab arrives shortly after, to find Fer barely breathing on the floor. He realizes Eww was there. Juanito is clinging to his mom, Fab asks him to go to his room to play (like no normal child in the world would ever do in these circumstances).

Fab asks Fer what she did to provoke Eww. Assuming that she must have done something to deserve the attack should be offensive, but this is Fernanda we’re talking about, so I’ll let it slide. Fer explains that Sonia was found and Eww thinks she talked to the cops, but that’s not true.

“I’m sick of it! My life is rubbish since I started working for your father. He paid me to be Augie’s lover, he’s capable  of everything, even kill you. He knows you helped Dario and you will get yours, too. We need to stick together, I need you, you’re my baby daddy.”

And she almost seems genuine while she says all this. But Fab thinks he can control Eww.  (Hahahaha)

“Make no mistake, you and I are done. You lied, betrayed, and used Juanito to blackmail me. You  blame my father, but it was your ambition that drove you here. But I am different, dad wants me to pretend to get back together with you just to keep you in check.  So let’s do that, pretend, but nothing more.”

Majo is with Dario on the phone, talking like two carefree lovers. He will do his best to have a reduced  sentence (I thought he didn’t care about that anymore), he almost wants to run from jail. He knows he can’t do it, Majo wants their son to be proud of him. Dario promises to behave, he only cares about them. Since you can’t cure stupid, I think Majo deserves everything that is coming her way.

Ren confronts Eww with the evidence she has.

“Malditos asesinos! I used to love you as a teen, I thought you were the best man in the world, I worshiped you. My mother found a letter where I was telling you I loved you, so she hit me until she got tired. I couldn’t understand it until I saw how she looked at you and how you looked at her. Then I understood she was jealous. I loved you, Eugenio, now I hate you for what you have done to my baby and me.”

 Eww doesn’t think it convenient for Ren to remember the past. He never wanted to hurt her, he loved her, too, he still does, she is his favorite. “I will give you a son, Sonia’s!” Ren looks disturbed, but will she go for it?

Sonia is in Adriana’s apartment, still very afraid. They chat, Sonia asks if Adriana is single, then she realizes she’s overstepping, but she’s alone and afraid. Adriana reassures her again, she will help. She mentions going through a break up, she doesn’t get what Sonia saw in Eww (pot, meet kettle).

Sonia explains how Eww was not like that at first, treated her very well. But then he started to hit her, he became jealous, always had her surveilled. Then Marcelo came along and with him it was different. But then Eww found out and the rest is history (Is it? Has Sonia officially confessed to anything yet??) Adriana once again promises that Sonia will be fine and Sonia promises to say everything that she knows.Maybe starting by telling us WHERE WAS SHE FOUND??!!

Elisa receives Leo in her room, he jokes that considering the circumstances he could have come through the window. They’re both very giddy, kissing, proud of the little plan they concocted.

“Was Fab around when we broke up?” Leo asks.

“Yes, and he even smiled.”

“Cristina, JL and Adriana all know, too, now we need to keep the act,” Leo and Elisa agree.

FLASHBACK to their talk in the hospital. Leo wants to ask JL to help them, Elisa comes up with the break-up plan. Leo says they are very close to getting all the proof they need against Eww, they are about to get to where Sonia is hiding. Elisa now knows a lot of stuff about Eww from her sisters. Leo mentions how Sonia said Eww is the leader of the art trafficking gang and is guilty of Marc’s death (so she did confess). Eww is also involved in Augie and Julia’s deaths. Elisa cries, she hates Eww, wishes she could scream it to his face. Leo agrees, but for now he can’t suspect they’re on to him, he needs to trust he’s safe. “We need to protect the family.”

Renata is alone, looking at Marc’s picture, remembering her talk with Eww.

F L A S H B A C K to Eww explaining that they only did the abortion to save her life. Vic was in shock, she was trying to save her. They do agree she has the right to have a baby, her husband’s Marc baby. Eww will put it in her arms himself. But she needs to stop mentioning these awful accusations against her poor mother. And she needs to help them find Sonia, by going to Leo to ask for help. They need to make sure the baby is safe. This is manipulation at its best, he touches her hand, whispering softly in her ear: “everything we’re doing is for your happiness.”

Ren takes out the baby clothes she’d once bought, looks at her and Marc’s picture. She’s going down the rabbit’s hole. Probably.

Leo and Elisa are cuddling, unaware of Ren’s possible descent into treacherous madness. Elisa has some news, Majo is pregnant. They need to defend her even more now since this is only making matters worse. Elisa didn’t want to tell Vic about it because of Eww. Everything is now making sense to Leo, Dario being Eww’s son. Elisa is impactada!!! Fab and Dario are brothers!

Eww screams at JL, how wasn’t he aware of Sonia’s capture?? He needs to get her! Or else Leo will find out everything. JL has had it with Eww barking orders at him, he don’t pay him enough for this sh!t.

“You ordered Augies’ death!” JL shouts.

“You pulled the trigger!” Eww fights back. “Sonia mustn’t say a word. You will do the impossible to make sure of that, if not your brother will find out the whole truth.”

F L A S H B A C K to Augusto’s car stopped on that field in the middle of nowhere in the first episode. A guy wearing a mask which only covers part of his mouth is holding a gun. It’s Jose Luis Velasco and he’s moving towards the parked car, to…

The end! And this time we can't blame it on politics.
