Mi Fortuna Es Amarte #15 -03/15/22: SEDUCTIONS AND DECEITS All SO BUTTERY SWEET!

Adrien and Veronica are worried that Pedro is stalling at investing with them.  He suggests she try seducing him.  "--It's a card I'm will to play."

Tania drives into Gustavo's repair shop in Mario's car and says she needs it sold.  She is snippy with Valentina and makes a point of calling Gustavo, who tells her to deal with Tina and he'll see about getting a buyer.

Tania is roaming the streets of the barrio and unexpectedly runs into Natalia returning home from shopping.  Tania learns Nata lives in the area and the blue house in particular.  Tania sniggers.  "--How far you have fallen!"  Nata asks after Mario to politely change the subject; Tania says he's suffering after Nata's rejection, even though she warned her brother against falling for a women like her.  "--And, according to you, what kind of woman am I?"  "--The kind whose husbands leave them flat because they're worthless."  Nata lets loose with a slap heard 'round the barrio on testy Tania.  (A communal cheer goes up in Viewerville.  Alas, the elation is too short-lived.)  And of course, Olga The Nosy is watching this from afar.

Pedro is playing hard to get.  No business is to be discussed while they're all out on the yacht.  It's his wedding present to Javier and her. Oh....okay.  Well, ok.  "--How about you and I get together for dinner--just you and I alone?"  Perfecto.

Vulga walks over to Tania and begins her strange communicative chatter; she tells Tania that taxis don't usually drop by this part of the street.  "--More do on the corner up there.--And, boy, didn't Nata give you one heck of a slap.  I bet it's still on fire."  "--Look, you lowlife trash, don't mess--"  "--Watch it, girl!  You're in MY barrio now."  The taxi pulls up and Vulga offers her phone no. in case there's good gossip to share since she hates Natalia as much as Tania apparently does.  Tania allows it and drives off.

Meanwhile, Tavo and Constanza go to The Cloob together.  Tavo heads over to a guy interested in a car like Mario's. and makes an appointment for him to come see it.

At the same time Connie passes by the gym, William gives her a bottle of wine as a "gift".  Connie refuses it at first and tells Willie again that it was all a mistake and is in the past.  However, she has to accept it and races over to sit with Samia.

A bit later, Nata is able to have Benji and Vicente sample her desserts.  They both love them, natch  (When did she have the time to make all of them if Benji's got to get to school so early in the morning?)

Tavo comes into the gym for a workout.  Big mistake.  Willie nearly gives him a heart attack during his personal training session.  FF>FF>

Connie sits down with Sami and the bottle of wine is a dead give-away.  Sami warns her against Willie.  He's a total disaster waiting to happen.  The wine is his signature calling card, she tells Connie. who cannot deny it's from him but continues the charade. She lies that there's anything currently between them.  Sami notes he's at least after her and warns her that the guy's been with oodles of women there; he has gotten a rep as a thief and could really destroy her so be careful.

At the shop, Tania signs over Mario's car.  She feigns concern over poor big bro with Tavo and keeps up the lie that nobody's allowed to see him at the jail.  FF>>FF>>

Later that morning Nata has a successful tasting session with the club manager.  He orders 4 dozen desserts to start.  Success is sweet.....

On the way home from Tavo's garage Mario calls Tania, desperate at learning she hasn't put a dime toward any of the debts owed.  Tania mewls that she simply hasn't had time but now that the car's sold she'll get right on it...mañana!  Instead, after hanging up she buys a first-class plane ticket to Miami for that very evening.

Over at Omar's new digs meanwhile, he asks Andrea if her mother really knows she's there now.  He really doesn't want to sneak around about this relationship.  Andi says no, but she can probably figure it out on her own.

Nata is currently chatting it up with Sami about her desserts and then she purposely changes the subject to Andi and Omi.

Omi informs Andi that she's got to finish prep school and he's going back to London to finish college.  He says he will pay for her to finish school.  They will go to London together after as man and wife.  Happy, happy!  Joy, Joy!

Regina rushes over to Chente's shop to show J2P2 her new public school uniform.  (I don't understand why he's quit school or what is keeping him from returning, but he does want to go back and finish.)  they plan to study together.

That evening, Ver gets dolled up to twist Pedro's ...er...arm--one way or another.  Adrian spends the evening alone staring at the picture of Nata and the two girls.

Nata and Sami arrive at Omi's.  Hurricane sirens go off all over the place.  Nata demands Andi pack up and leave with her.  Omi says hold on a minute.  I love her and we're getting married in a month.  Sami starts yelling about his Papi but Omi interrupts and says they're not going to do this in secret and they all will have to respect his and Andi's decision.  (I just don't get the snotty brat and the college man pairing.  Sorry.  Break out my beanie, will ya?)

After dinner, Ver starts laying it on thick with Pedro.  She's prepared to go all the way to get him to sign the contract.  He pretends to go along with the seduction and pulls back at the last second: he knows who she and Adrien really are and how they're on the lamb from the Mexican authorities.  Ruh-rohhhhh!

Sami insults Andi and calls her a "social climber" by trying to marry into the Hadad family; Nata takes issue with the name-calling as she, as Andi'insists mama, is the first to disagree with this ridiculous marriage business.  Sami interrupts Nata to insist Andi needs to grow up.  "--Your son as well!"  (True - what's a  college kid almost near graduation like him is doing with a 17 yr. old anyway?  I just don't get it.)  Andi gets snippy and says do what you like but she's not going anywhere, and in a month it won't matter anyway because she turns 18.  Omi says he doesn't care if Papi takes away all his cash, cars, the depa, and his credit cards.  He loves Andi.  Period.  He'll start working for a living.  (Oh yeah.  As what? Where with no skills and no degree?  The local car wash?  As a school janitor?  These are honest labor, but they pay little.  If Andi thinks she's got it bad now, just wait! How long will it be till a money-loving, luxury hound little bratty Andi can't take it anymore and dumps Omi to go back to Mami?)  Gees!

Pedro tells Ver she's mistaken if she thought she was going to pull the wool over his eyes and play him like a fool.  She starts to leave and he tells her to sit down or he'll call the authorities.  He admits to being a thief on the same scale as they but doesn't need faked passports.  He got the yacht from a widow who has no idea that it and her fortune have gone up in smoke.  As for Ver, no he's not going to run off with their money.  He just wants Adrien Cantu's woman.  She is truly fascinated.

While Sami tries to talk with Omi, Nata does her best (and worst) with spoiled, bratty Andi.  Andi tells her how Omi plans to pay for her to finish prep school and then to take her to London to live as husband and wife.  "--What can you do for me?  Offer me a trip to ...where?  Acapulco?"  She crinkles her nose.  "--You really think I'd leave all this to return to a storeroom made up to resemble a bedroom?"  Instead of leaving then as maybe Natalia should have, she babies Andi some more.  Then she leaves her to do it her way.  (Totally cringe-worthy having to watch this all the way through --TWICE!)

At the same time, Sami explains to Omi that marriage and living together are two very different things.  Omi admits he only thought to get married because his father didn't want him to live with Andi and marriage would force him to accept her.  Sami changes tactics:  "--You don't have to get married.  I'll deal with your father.  If you want to live with her then live with her, but you don't need to rush into marriage."  Ok.  So, tomorrow, Sami tells Omi and Andi afterward, she and Papi Hadid will be by for breakfast. Since her mother is such a wonderful cook, Andi should be able to whip up something special for the two of them.  Thanks and see ya both tomorrow.  She exits.  Andi admits she doesn't know a thing about cooking.  Omi foolishly insists she can cook--it's hereditary; it runs in her veins.  (Somebody get Omi a tinfoil hat now, ok?)  He cannot believe she can't cook with her mother an actual chef.  They've got to get it together and cannot let down his parents.  Andi's cloud 9 has suddenly dissipated and left her dumped in a mud puddle.

Nata comes home empty-handed.  It's not bad enough being crapped on by her spoiled bitch of a daughter but Vulga is there, ready to talk trash to her also. What does Vulga want this time of night?  Vulga lets loose:  "--You don't fool me.  You act so high and mighty, but the first chance you have you go into a man's bedroom like the lowliest of sluts."  Nata's tired, but tries making sense.  --If you want to go after Chente, be my guest.  It doesn't matter to me at all, but I am so tired of your insults."  (Olga's brain doesn't work that way.) "So the high and mighty lady is all deflated and down?  What happened to the woman who slapped the crap out of some female hear in front of the gate earlier this morning?  You don't scare me, claws or not."  Nata is angry and surprised or confused that this vulgar woman seems to be hanging around and watching their every move.  (I believe it's called 'stalking.' )  "--Good night, Olga!!"  But Vulga still doesn't take the hint.  She stays put long enough to throw out the intended threat:  She says she should start acting like the decent woman she says she is and stop fooling around going after decent men like Chente or she's going to make certain that Chente sees through her and drops her for not being worth the effort.

Nata comes home without Andi.  She sold her desserts to the club and needs them done by Friday, but Andi is a totally different story.  She cannot handle her tears and races upstairs.

Benji notes she's been crying and he brings her his bunny to cheer her up.

As for Papi Hadad, he's furious when Sami tells him what's happening with Omar and how she's decided to handle it.  She makes him see that it can't last long especially since she plans to be the worst suegra ever.  Hubby laughs and says he knows now why he married her:  she can be merciless.

Veronica arrives home while Adrien is asleep on the couch.  She notices the family picture in his lap.  She takes it and... burns it.

The next morning Vulga has gone with Chente to help him take Benji to school and demonstrate to Chente what a wonderful, caring individual she certainly is.  While Chente's got his back turned, though,Vulga threatens Benji. "--Remember I'll be taking you to school some mornings."  She wants a kiss but he sticks his tongue out at her instead.  Chente comes back and Vulga sweetly runs on about Benji and seeing the two of them together is so wonderful, and how his son is getting so much better, too.  So much happier these days. Chente agrees.  (Why is he so effing nice to this dumb, rude being that passes for human?)  "--And don't worry if you need me to, I'll be happy to come get him from school for you.  (Pearly whites are shining brightly.  The  fangs are hidden further back.)  She giggles and races off for something.  He's all smiles.

Claudio answers a knock at the door. There's a strange little woman at the door who he immediately assumes is there to beg for old clothes and other types of charity.  He won't let her get a word in edge-wise, acting like the know-it-all-from Worldly Manor, and after a long-winded speech, he shuts the door in her face.

I do not get Olga. It seems she only wants Chente because he rejected her. There is nothing as unattractive as seeming desperate. For a teen, Andrea is really awful. Her manipulation seems to suggest she is aware that she is not in love because all we hear from her is demands. Why do I get the feeling Constanza will ruin the whole dessert business. For a guy who studies at college, Omar seems way to easily manipulated. He at least has some common sense. But maybe he himself does not know what he wants. I have no idea how this is supposed to become a pairing we should like.

Loved it, Jardinera! Tinfoil hats all around for us all and a few of the characters as you suggested. Personally, I couldn’t take Natalia groveling with her b*tchy brat of a daughter one more time or even pausing to listen to Vulga one more time. Carmen Salinas is at the door! I know I will like her character whoever she may be! ; ) This was her last role. : (

Thank you, Jardinera, you filled in so many details that I missed! I thought Pedro said he had 10 fake passports! And I’m watching telenovelas to improve my listening skills!

I can’t picture Olga ever convincing Chente that she’d be good for Benja and him. But he did seem to think Benja enjoyed her being there. I predict Benja speak when she goes a little too far, either with Natalia, his dad or him.

I think I’m becoming jaded. I have a daughter whom I love very much but I feel Natalia should just let her daughter live with Omar, even if he’s cut off by daddy and living on the streets. Then Andrea might realize how good she had it in Chente’s house.

Waiting impatiently for William to destroy Constance’s marriage and reputation. He could just start bribing her with the video. But it’s like he’s playing cat and mouse with her!

Tonight should be good, I hope Claudio has met his match in Grandma, that’s who I assume the older lady is. But I’m wondering where he and Teresa will sleep. They are in the Grandmother’s room now. Teresa could bunk with Natalia, or they could go to Andrea’s abandoned room.

How cruel of Victoria to burn the photo. Especially if she plans to move on to Pedro. I’m just assuming Adrian wasn’t included in the offer!

Jardinera, another fantastic summary.

“(Pearly whites are shining brightly. The fangs are hidden further back)” and “strange communicative chatter” were wry and wonderful.

Vulga and Tania = dreck seeks dreck.

Despite Sami’s forewarning, Connie steams ahead...

I also hated to see Nat begging her beyotch of a daughter. She is degrading herself for nothing. Andrea will need to make her own mistakes and from what we are already seeing, practice does indeed make perfect.

Jarifa, yes, Carmen coming does indeed change things, the ending was bright, God bless her soul.

Liz, although Vic burning the picture was the least of her sins, it goes to her character, of which she has none.

I thought Pedro and Victoria already had an alliance. Was wrong then but that seems to be the way it is heading now.

Jardinera, thank you!

Diana

Hi there!. Water Lily - welcome to my page. You may be on to something regarding Nata's dessert sales and Connie's viciousness.

Jarifa/Diana - yes, Carmen (QEPD), aka La Abuela's, appearance should prove to be a wake up call for Claudio. Can't wait!

Liz, yes, many of us --myself included-- have had these kinds of parental challenges. Cringe-worthy as I say, and although it is like a death in the family, if they choose to go then it's time and that's that. It was way too little and way too late for Andrea that Nata should choose to play the stern mother role.

Jardinera, thank you for another excellent recap.

Vulga is tenacious in her quest to snag Chente . She evidently obsessed about him long before his wife died . Watching her and Benjy sticking out their tongues at each other is funny. She is such a child.

Dealing with teen girls is a challenge .I taught many, and we raised two daughters who were pretty levelheaded. Hub and I found that our older daughter was more successful at talking her younger sister out of things than we were. Sometimes you just have to kiss it to God and hope for the best as you brace for the worst. Teens usually don't like getting advice from their parents . Andrea thinks she knows everything . She is going to get a rude wake up call.

OT Jardinera, I am on episode 7 of Kurulus Osman... wow ....Burak Ozcivit with long hair riding a horse like a boss. Hi ho , Silver .

Jardinera: Howdy from the Alamo City! The title of your recap of last night's episode pretty much said it all: seduction is buttery sweet & glistening!

Steve Boudreaux

Jardinera, thank you for this fun recap! It's been a busy few days and I haven't had a chance to watch this yet, but I did want to get in a comment and let you know these recaps are always appreciated!

Diana, "...although Vic burning the picture was the least of her sins, it goes to her character, of which she has none." I'm not completely sure this makes sense, but it's hilarious, thank you!

Andy

Finally caught up to this one. My favorite line was Pearly whites are shining brightly. The fangs are hidden further back. Maybe she should just rob a blood bank.

Veronica and Adrian could end up losing everything; I think Pedro is probably smarter than they are.

Mario is in for a nasty surprise; he may be in the slammer until the midpoint of this tale.

Natalia should not have told Samia she made those desserts; Samia is the type to always look for whatever she can look down upon. She is a false friend.
