Mi Fortuna Es Amarte #33, 04/12/22: A Sign From Above

[This may not be in the same order as presented....--ed.]

At breakfast Magos once again encourages Vicente to pursue Natalia; he shouldn't let her get away. "Happiness is knocking at the door."  He should open that door and welcome it in.  Just then Nata walks into the room with Benji.  The two of them look so right together.  "--We overslept.  Ready for breakfast?"

At the rooming house, Jose Jose tells Juanga he's not so sure that his brother should be getting married to Olga.  Dating her is enough, but the thought of marriage is really a disgustingly ridiculous idea.  Juanga says Jojo is just upset cause he hasn't managed to get Regina to take the bait.  Take care of his own romantic life before complaining about his.

Downstairs in the kitchen, Chole tells Vulga that someone, especially her, doesn't change her mind overnight: going from threatening to slit her wrists over Chente to marrying his brother?  No, Vulga has something else up her sleeve. Vulga says she simply got tired of waiting, pining away during her best years; besides, she wants to get married at an earlier age than Chole.

Constanza is in a really nasty mood.  She's upset that Regi just moved in without asking.  Regi says it's only for a bit while her sister needs her. Connie tells her fine, but no barrio hoi polloi allowed.

Mario and Gustavo have morning coffee together.  Mario's glad to see that Tavo has finally made the break and is divorcing Constanza.  How many times Tavo had cried in his beer to him over his unhappy marriage over the years?  A lot!  Juanga comes down and Mario makes it plain in no uncertain terms that he'd better not rifle through his closet let alone "borrow" his things again.  Tavo seconds that sentiment.

Across the way, Fernanda hands over the keys to her parents' place in Valle de Bravo.  Benji and Chente give her a hug goodbye and she is off.  Juanga and Vulga stop by and say hi.  Chente agrees to walk Benji to school again, totally ignoring his frantic head shakes against the idea.  She drags him along and threatens him again with keeping quiet about her or she'll make all sorts of bad things happen to his abuela.

Tavo gets to the garage and is about to tell them about the change in "management" when Simba The Smelly shows up full of insults and intimidation.  Yes, he's the new manager and, oh yeah, Valentina will be cleaning his office today. Tavo says to go along with it for now; it won't last for long.  Simba puts Tavo to washing the floors and fires Juanga.--but not before Juanga accuses him of being jealous that Vulga is interested in him and not Simba. Simba says not a chance.  In fact the slut is just using him to get to Chente.  If she sees an opening she'll take it, too!  He'll get dumped on because he's nothing but a stupid jerkwad.  "--How does it feel to have her think of your brother every time you kiss her, huh?"  Snicker. Snicker.  Juanga has had enough and finally lays a fabulous right hook on his contemptible and constantly chittering set o' choppers. (Ah! A momentary break in his non-stop trash-mouth verbal onslaught is appreciated by all on this side of Viewerville. Sheesh!  A noble name like Simba is such a misnomer. They should have called him Chimp Choppers or Baboon Boy. )

Nata stops along the way to check in on her daughters at Connie's and thanks for allowing Regi to stay with Andrea.  "--As long as it doesn't lead to a family invasion of the premises she's fine.  Nata then goes upstairs to tell her two daughters that she's taking a weekend by herself at Fernanda's vacation home out of the city.

Chente stops by Lucia's gravesite.  He remembers her telling him to move on once she's gone and to find a good woman to take care of him and who will also love Benji.  He is feeling guilt (I think) and asks her for a sign that it's okay to feel the way he feels about moving on with his life.

At the same time, Nata has car trouble on the highway.  She calls Chente for help just as he finishes asking for that sign from on high.  Yes, he will come to help her.  He knows quite a bit about fixing cars and does it from time to time.

Juanga comes downstairs and tells the crew he's been fired.  Tavo says when he's in charge there again his job will be waiting for him.

Andi is having second thoughts about her situation and tells Connie she's never felt so alone.  Connie reminds her she'll be there for her and the baby.  They'll raise it together.  That's a cheery thought --NOT-- as Andi ends up going to a doctor's office to request an abortion. Thankfully, the doctor gives her a bawling-out due to her underage status and having come without her parents' approval.

Juanga goes straight to Chole's shop to tell her and Vulga what's just happened at Tavo's repair shop and to him.  He also tells Vulga what Simba said about her.  That's enough for the two women to head over to the shop to give Simba a piece of their mind.

Connie gets another visit from Samia.  She's there to suggest to Conz that the best thing for everyone involved is to have Andrea get an abortion.  Connie tells her to forgeddabowdit cuz it ain't gonna happen.  In fact, she herself plans to care for the child.  Samia is shocked but pleased because now there will be no claim on the Hadad family fortune.  "--I hope this doesn't sour our friendship!"

Chente gets stuck in traffic in the city.  Jojo calls him to find out why he's not at the parts shop.  Regi comes by and they end up picking up Benji from school and then taking him to an amusement park nearby for the afternoon.

Vulga goes upstairs to complain to Simba.  She tells him he's being used by Conz to get back at her hubby.  He pulls out his wads of billetes and waves them around.  She suddenly changes her attitude and gets an idea; she pouts and asks Simba for a favor perhaps.  Anything, he says, except giving Juanga his job back.  Forget Juanga.  She'd rather have him stay fired but if something comes up and he's getting that kind of dough every month he might get to enjoy some of her charms....  (I think--Anyway, just watching her wave those 5-inch claws around in a seductive attempt to persuade just gives me the willies.)

While Nata waits on Chente she remembers how charming Adrien was the day of their anniversary party--and then the heartbreakingly selfish note he left her once he's absconded with Veronica and the company's funds.

Once Vulga returns to the rooming house she tells Juanga he's better off looking for another job, a better one.  Besides, she doubts Tavo will be able to best his wife in the divorce settlement. The woman may come down like a ton of bricks on Chole also and they'll both be out on the street sooner than later.

⦁  Chente arrives finally and Nata is relieved to see him.  She was beginning to get frightened.

Samia visits Elias at the office and tells him Connie's plan to be responsible for Andi's baby so none of them will have anything to worry about in the future from that kid.  Elias wonders if it is a boy or not.  Sam asks why it should matter to him.  Elias says that if the kid is a boy then he wants him to be his heir.  He cannot count on Omar to take over the family bidnez cuz he's such a namby-pamby.  So, if the kid really is Omar's, then he belongs to Elias.  He wants charge of him.  So keep an eye on Connie.

Jojo tries his luck at a shooting gallery trying to win Regi a prize.  Benji is freaking out over his shooting a rifle but the two are having such a good time they temporarily forget about him.  When the shooting stops they look for Benji, but he's not there.  They look everywhere.  He's GONE!

Jardinera, this was excellent. Loved the title and “contemptible and constantly chittering set o' choppers”.

“Constanza is in a really nasty mood”. No! I can’t believe THAT 😊

How Chente failed to see Benja’s fear about going with Olga was frustrating. Her threats about his grandmother was sickening but par for the course. As a tragedy caused him to lose his voice, perhaps a happy miracle will cause him to find it.

Juanga can’t catch a break but I loved the perfect punch. I well realize there is no gossip rule here but I read something that made me smile and mention it as a possibility only. Juanga and Andrea may be dating in real life. 😊

Samia urging Con to encourage Andrea to abort her OWN grandchild because he is a bastard was sickening. Elias wanting the child if it’s a BOY to follow in his footsteps was not surprising. Finger snappin Samia did not seem as enthused.

Tavo is already paying the price for wanting to divorce Coni and have to agree with Olga (reluctantly) that Chloe may be next.

Natalia, who looks beautiful in everything she wears, calling Chente as he mourns at the grave was perfect timing.

Benja was having so much fun at the fair. I am sure he will be found soon.

Judy, sending thoughts and prayers across the miles. Hope you are feeling a bit better each and every day!

Jardinera, thank you so much! This was great.

Diana

Thanks, Diana! I TA with all your talking points.

Judyb—shout out to you!!

Jardinera, thank you for another great recap of all the unfolding drama.

I can hardly stand watching Vulgar terrorizing Ben. She is horrible . Now Ben is missing . I hope that Vulgar didn't take him . ugh

I am getting tired of looking at Con's sour face. It must be awful to be so full of hate and jealousy . I guess she was always envious of Nat's beauty and good nature .

OT....Judy...I am waving at you and sending love and prayers your way. Hang in there . xoxoxoxo besos

Jardinera, loved the recap. thanks.

Diana, "How Chente failed to see Benja’s fear about going with Olga was frustrating." I couldn't agree more and cannot believe that NOBODY seems to see his distress anytime he hasta go with Olga except for Olga.

A left over rant from a different day: Another thing that bothers me is them treating Omar like he is not a child of the 21st century. It is not 1955. So what is the big deal that he has an "EQUIS" cellphone? There must be computers available at his school. He must have friends with cellphones. Charge a new cellphone on daddy's peso. What is the big deal about having to contact anyone back home in order to get Connie's number?

Loved Chente getting the call from Natalia while he was at Lucía's grave and him and Ben giving Natalia a goodby hug.

Thanks for the great recap, Jardina. Hope they find Benja tonight. And I cringe when he’s alone with Olga.

How scary that Elias is going to replace Omar with his baby! Can’t believe he destroys his son and now wants a new heir.

Guess Simba will be with us as another bad guy for a while. There’s enough of them in this telenovela.

Liz: I second your comments exactly. Absolutely disgusting seeing that scumbag Elias replacing Omar with his baby SMH.

Jardinera: Awesome job on the recap of last night's episode.

Jarifa: The villains love to destroy people's lives do they ?

Judy: Praying for you & hoping for your speedy recovery.

Diana: Looking like Andrea will have the abortion SMH.

Jardinera, thank you for another great recap and a fun read!

"Downstairs in the kitchen, Chole tells Vulga that someone, especially her, doesn't change her mind overnight: going from threatening to slit her wrists over Chente to marrying his brother?" This scene made me sit up and notice when Chole said to Vulga, "Te conozco, mosco". Mosco is a mosquito. I'm fairly sure that Chole wasn't calling Olga a mosquito, this must just be a stock phrase that rhymes. I do remember from my semester in Mexico that silly young people (hmm, redundant) did like to joke about moscos (masc.) liking girls and moscas (fem., flies) liking to buzz about guys.

"Constanza is in a really nasty mood." As usual. But she is looking better these days, prettier. Maybe she has stopped sucking lemons so much, or maybe I'm just getting used to her. And thank you for the "barrio hoi polloi".

"Simba The Smelly", how do such people stand themselves? This guy, the late William, and Elías are all human trash.

But here men and women, I think, see things differently. Olga I find to be kinda fun, and when she threatens Benja I don't take it very seriously. Just prejudice I suppose, but I don't see "evil" women as being as bad as evil men. And, lets face it, Olga is hot while Simba is disgusting.

And not all prejudice; Sammie, for instance, does not see her Chuchú as just the next male in the Haddad line of succession. Elías is pretty cold-blooded even about his own son. This sort of thing is common enough in telenovelas, but in real life?? I hope not.

OT

Judy, I'm sending you virtual flowers and chocolates (of which I have eaten only just a couple, the rest are all yours!).

I am, we all are, looking forward to your return when you are up to it.

Andy

Thanks, Jardinera.

Yep, it's too much that Chente didn't look down at Benji when he was shaking his head "NO!" to Olga taking him. This is so cruel, to Benja and Viewerville.

How in blazes does Elias plan to take the grandkid and without Omar knowing there is a kid? No idea what will happen, but I'm hoping snappy fingers Sammie will one day turn against her husband.

OT

JudyB, thinking of you and hoping Caray brings you a chuckle today.
