Mi Fortuna Es Amarte #31, 04/08/22: Faked Devotion, A Silly Notion, and Lots of Emotion

Natalia is a bit redfaced after Vicente tells her she is right to move out as soon as possible.  She says she only needs a couple of weeks to find a place she can afford.  Although Mario has offered to help her out...--Chente mocks her and says that she'd rather have Mario's help; she insists it was Mario's idea since he'd helped her earlier right after Adrien had first abandoned her and the girls.  However, she's refusing it again because she just doesn't feel comfortable with him.  So, that's why she had thought to remain there in the house.  And, Chente realizes that he's stuck his foot in it again with Natalia.

Across in Uptown, Gustavo confronts Constanza about her affair with wiley William the gym trainer.  She says it was only that once, and she regretted it immediately.  Tavo doesn't believe her and accuses her of taking men to her bed when he's not there.  "--There's nothing between William and me!"  "-I've suffered insults and humiliation all these years, but never did I think you'd do this to me!"  Connie explains that she was feeling lost and terribly sorry for herself, desperate even.  "--It was when you'd left the house."  "--But in our bed??  You couldn't have the decency to get a hotel room somewhere?"  (Ok, Gus, buddy.  Enough with the purity act, already.)  "--You're no saint, Gustavo!  I am sure Soledad isn't the first broad you've put in your bed, either!"  Tavo warns her not to badmouth the woman he LUHHHHVS!  For once Connie is speechless.

Speaking of Chole, Juanga has made breakfast for everyone and decides to put them all on notice that he and Olga are getting married. La Vulgar de Olga is stupified.  She takes him to the woodshed for a quick chat.  "--They've only been dating a week and she's not sure of anything yet."  Chole mumbles to the others that she knew this relationship wouldn't last.

Back in the bedroom at Connie's manse, Tavo explains that he's been in love with Chole for years; he simply didn't have the courage to recognize it   Now she herself has done what she for years accused him of doing.  Well, the marriage is good and over. (Like, you made your bed so now sleep in it.) "--And oh, thank you very much for twenty years of unhappiness!!"

At breakfast at Chente's, Nata informs Chente that she did speak with her friend, Fernanda, who says the hospital has programs for the elderly poor, and Magos will get to see a specialist and have tests, but also she may have to have surgery. She promises to help out and when she leaves this house he and all his family members will have a warm place in her heart--as in, yep, she still plans to move out.

Across town, Andrea watches young couples with their babies and feels sorry for herself and her miserable situation, such as it is.....Regina shows up and they go to confront Omar.

A while later, Nata has come to visit with Andi, but she's been told that Andi isn't in.  Nata then overhears Tavo and Connie coming downstairs and his accusations about her having an affair and his leaving to start a life with Chole.  Once Tavo's out of the house she and Connie have a heart to heart and Nata tells her sister straight up that they both are to blame for a failed marriage.  Connie insists that hers was a one-night stand but Tavo's has lasted years!

⦁      Benji's therapist informs Chente that his son has begun to regress.  She asks where Natalia is since she promised to help in the sessions and Benji needs a true maternal figure.

Nat reminds Connie that she herself has learned a woman doesn't need to depend on a man to get ahead; Connie needs to use this divorce to learn that about herself and to handle this divorce from a position of strength and self-composure.  She needs to stop feeling so sorry for herself and to now lend a shoulder to Nata, especially now that Adrien's back in Mexico. How will she tell her girls?

Regi and Andi drop in unexpectedly on Samia.  Andi demands to know where Omar is and she demands to speak to him as the mother of his child.  La bruja de Sammie yells back that she has no rights over anyone or anything (quite true) and the only person responsible for that pregnancy is Andi herself (well, not quite true)!  Besides, Omi wants nothing more to do with either Andi or her bastard baby.

Andi says fine, then let him tell her to her face.  If he won't talk to her then she'll sue (for what?) but Sam reminds her she is powerless to do anything against the Hadad stable of attorneys.  Regi reminds her that there are laws that protect single mothers--and she read that in the news!  (And that's news to us!)  Anyway, Andi says Omi must take responsibility for his kid and Sam says you're going to have to prove it really is his!  Sam insists that Omi didn't know a thing and that Andi purposely kept it from him with the idea of roping him into marriage first and then making him believe it is his.  Andi was wrong to think she could force her son into ruining his life by marrying a second-rate, run-of-the-mill girl like her. Regi defends her big sis:  "--The only thing second-rate around here are the principles you taught the likes of Omar!"  It's then that Sam suggests Andi get rid of the kid. "--Think about it, Andrea.  That child will only be a nuisance for you." Regi rushes the two of them out of the manse.

In the cab on the way back to Connie's, Regi is trying to console Andi.  Andi is so depressed she jumps out of the taxi in traffic and finds the nearest bridge to jump off of.  Regi finds her at the last minute.  Andi slips on the way back over the railing and must be rescued by a couple of male passers-by (whom they don't bother to thank.)

At the same time, Tavo informs Claudio that he's now got hard proof that will force Connie to give him his divorce.  Clod instructs Tav that not only will he get that divorce and full ownership of his car repair shop,  but half of everything Connie has!

Vulga is giving  Kimberly a manicure; Kim sort of like Juanga's one-woman attitude.  Vulga admits the guy is getting on her nerves; all his lovey-dovey, corny mushiness is making her nauseous.  Kim wonders if Vulga loves Chente so much, then why is she getting involved with his brother?  That's where Kim comes in according to Vulga.  Give her the excuse to break up with him over "a broken heart."  Chente then will console her.  That's the plan.....

While Andi is fighting the urge to end it all for herself (and for us) Nata has come to speak to Adrien and give him a huge piece of her mind.  Adi tells her the truth, he didn't love her at first and yes, only married her for her papi's milliones de dolares. SLAP!   "--You disgust me!"  He's telling her the truth, though, and for the first time in his life, he admits.  Adi rationalizes that he came to love her and the girls and then only realized it too late after he'd lost everything.  Too bad and so sad, but it's over, replies Nata.  "--There's nothing left of feeling between us.  I am free of you and any feelings for you!  Your filthy lies, your trashy tricks!"   Did he know that Mario went to jail for the things he did?  And, what will never be forgotten or forgiven is how he abandoned his daughters without a cent, left them in the street without even a roof over their head or a crust of bread! Never ever.  And those to whom he should apologize are all those innocent and trusting people he robbed.  --So where is the pile o' pesos he pocketed?  Adi admits that Veronica was infuriated when she realized he still loved Nata and she snuck away with all those purloined pesos to parts unknown.

MeanwhileConnie, Fernanda, and Sam, run into each other at the club.  Sam informs the others that Willie just bought the family farm in a car wreck.  He's now singing with the angels.  He was texting on his phone and lost control of his car.  Fern says hopefully the women in the club here that he'd been harassing will open up and complain so that it doesn't happen there again.  Sam remembers that Connie sort of had a thing for him.  Connie says not necessarily.  "--Being nice isn't the same as being interested."

Back at the prison, Adi says he's been kept up to date on all that has been happening with his family and Mario.  He knows about Andi's pregnancy and that Sammie and Elias shuffled their son off back to college and out of the country before he could marry Andi.  Nata tells him it all ends right here and now.  She's out of his life for good.  "--But you can't just abandon me here!"  "--Me abandon you? Good riddance, Adrien!"

Simba returns to work at the auto repair shop.  "--Your wife gave me my job back."  "--I am the one who runs things in this shop!  Now get the eff out of here!"

Back at the barrio digs, Tere, Clod, and Nata are discussing Tavo's divorcing Connie over Willie.  Nata says Tavo and Connie are both equally guilty.  Clod mentions that Connie has no proof Tavo was disloyal.  They all agree that it will be a hell of a fight in court.  Regi arrives.  She tells the family that she's moving in with Andi and Aunt Connie.

Tavo surprises Chole as she's leaving the salon.  He gives her a big kiss in the middle of the sidewalk.  He tells her he's definitely left Connie and started divorce proceedings.  Let everybody know he's in love with Chole and that he wants to go to bed at night and wake up each morning at her side.  All the while, Simba is secretly recording this endearing little scene with his phone from behind some nearby trees.

RGV Chick: Sending my prayers to Judy & her family.

RGV Chick! That's great news!! Thanks for letting us know!

The recap is up now, guys!

Jardinera, thanks so much, Amiga for every dismal detail .

Is Willy really dead? If so, why did the writers eliminate him from the story ? We enjoyed him blackmailing Con And giving her a taste of her own nasty medicine.

This story seems to be about siblings ...the strong and the weak, the good and the bad. Poor Regina is very young to carry the weight of counseling and then rescuing her older sister. Then we have kind Nat and Unkind Con, 2 sides of acoin. Big bro Chente and Wacky Juan . Cousins lovely , longsufferibg Chole and awful Vulga.

OT...hello, Judyb, mi amiga, I hope you feel better and stronger day by day. Sending you constant love and prayers .

Jardinera, this was excellent.

My favorite was "Veronica...snuck away with all those purloined pesos to parts unknown".

I'll echo what you said the other day Andy in that Natalia and Chente are two protagonists that we can and do truly care about. Compassionate and caring, they continue to rise above all that has transpired, never losing their kind nature and loving hearts.

I was upset that Benja has regressed - hopefully Natalia can return to the sessions so this sweet child will have the strength to battle his demon - namely Olga.

Did Adrian really need to pile on Nata's woes by telling her he didn't love her when they married? Proof that the heart can break more than once.

Relieved that Andrea is safe - at least for the moment. I'm glad Regina will be with her, too many vipers in and access to Connie's nest. It will be another disappointment for Regina though.

William, we really didn't know you, nor did we care to...Adios!

Connie is going to hang onto a miserable marriage and her wealth at all costs...because that is who she is.

Tavo is either going to make the break or he isn't. He needs to be willing to lose everything, including the shop if he truly wants to be with Chloe. You can't have it all and sometimes you need to be prepared to have nothing if love is your primary and most important consideration.

Judy, I am happy you are following this story with us. Susanna Gonzalez illuminates this as only she can. I am hoping she and Chente finally declare what they are feeling for one another. I have a feeling once that happens, nothing will tear them apart.

Thank you Jardinera - this was great.

Diana

It will be another disappointment for Natalia though.

Diana

Yay! Judy is on the patio with us!

Fun recap of a meh episode, for me at least. Thanks, Jardinera. So many good lines!

Diana, “William, we really didn’t know you, nor did we care to.” ITA and I am so glad he is gone. Simba was one lucky criminal. I am still laughing about it. I also agree that Adrián was unbelievably cruel to Natalia. He deserves whatever he gets in the pen.

Thanks, Jardinera. Great job. While Andi is fighting the urge to end it all for herself (and for us) -- lol! Andi is so annoying and I hate that Regi, understandably, is leaving her mom to watch over her.

JudyB, I hope you feel better with each passing day. Squee, so glad you're listening to the fun recaps. Sending good vibes. ((((()))))

Thank you, Jardinera, for another excellent, helpful, and fun recap.

"...Chente realizes that he's stuck his foot in it again with Natalia." The "it" being his big mouth. And he gave himself a couple of "Bad boy, bad!" knocks to the head too. Yeah, this telenovela enjoys teasing and tantalizing us with Natalia and Chente. Not even a real kiss so far, just fantasies and dreams, and near misses.

But ANDY PREDICTS that they will share a real kiss eventually. How daring am I to go out on a limb like this, eh?

I want to see how the Juanga-Olga romance goes. The writers could really do something with this, but will they? Fun in any event.

I am also quite enjoying wacko Sammie, I think she's great fun. No saint, to be sure, but I'm not sure she's in league with the devil either, even though she's married to him.

Andrea wanting to end it all: FFWD.
But she is very lucky to have a sister like Regina; night and day, these two.
The two men who helped pull Andrea up were interesting. As Jardinera noted the girls don't bother to thank them, but they also say not a word, no "why were you there, seconds from plummeting to your death, young lady?" Just life in the Big City I guess.

Judy, Judy, and I'll stop at two, I hope your recovery is coming along nicely and expeditiously. I would love to see you back here soon because you are such a sweet woman and your comments are always great reading.

Andy

Thanks, Jardinera, great recap. I can’t believe Adrian somehow thinks Natalia would actually come back to him.

And Sami was so cruel to Andrea. I have to wonder if she would have felt bad if Andrea had jumped.

Poor little Ben with his drawing. I feel Natalia is his only hope. The girls would also be better off with Natalia instead of Connie. I was really surprised that Regina would move out, she should have insisted her sister come back to her.

I could be wrong but I was thinking Connie owns the rooming house and beauty shop and Chole is renting (or running it) for her. If so Connie could really hurt Chole.

Susanlynn: IMO if Willie Wonker is dead we may have son of or twin brother for continuation of the blackmailing storyline.

Liz: No, Samia is part of the Dark Side and she would have felt relief if Andi had killed herself IMHO. As for the owner of all these establishments, Connie is. Bad times ahead I think in the short run for Chole.

Andy/Niecie: Yes! FF>> was my feeling exactly. I was cheering for her to jump.... (naw, not really, but) the snob in her needs curbing and fast!

Diana:
LOLOL "William, we really didn't know you, nor did we care to...Adios!" LOL (the bard lives!) He was good for one thing: to finally bring Constanza off her extremely high horse.

Jarifa: Yes, this was a meh filler. My highlight was seeing Willie get creamed while sending his text to Tavo. He died for his crime you might say.

Gracias, Jardinera.

Connie loves to hurt people but doesn't show her glee publicly like Sami does. I have to laugh at the delusion of both of them thinking that they have class. Neither one of them does. Both actresses must be enjoying themselves, though, because playing evil is more fun.

As to whether Sami would have felt anything bad if Andrea had offed herself, I think not. That would have solved Sami's problem and she would have had plenty of time to come up with a story to tell Omar when she would need to.

I got a big kick out of those two random guys casually pulling Andrea to safety and then just continuing on their way .

Susana certainly always lends elegance to any novelas she is in. Con must have been so jealous of Nat's beauty and charm growing up. It made her hard hearted and selfish.

Regina and Andrea seem very close despite how different they are . Sisters can be very different and still be close.

I wonder how long abuela ( Carmen) will be in this show.

Willie might be dead but the video is still out there.

I think episode 45 is Carmen Salinas' last one.

María Rojo will be Granny Magos in 46 on.
