Mi fortuna es amarte #62 Mon. 5/23/22 "Nothing for Nothing"

Hey, JudyB,  a friend baked us some sugar cookies with plenty of butter and multicolored sugar sprinkles on top.  I will be bringing them to the patio tonight. There are lilies of the valley blooming all around. It is so nice that it is lighter longer outside for our viewing convenience! There is nothing like spring.

1. Natalia catches Olga all decked out and looking like she is ready to go out on the prowl.  She is feeling much better. Natalia suggests that she go to have the doctor check her out first since she was having so much pain earlier. Olga isn't interested. Natalia doesn't think it is such a good idea for her  to go out at night on top of it all. Olga insists she isn't a child. Natalia offers to go with her. Nope, Olga only wants to be left in peace. JuanGa comes in, Olga tries to ignore him and pushes past him on her way out.

2. Tavo says to Chole that he always wanted to be a father; he was dying to be a father.  He starts to explain what happened with Connie but Chole doesn't want to hear.  She says if he doesn't get her pregnant, they can adopt a baby. She asks if he isn't going to put the engagement ring on her finger. He proposes and she accepts. They kiss.

3. At Adrián's new house, Omar tells Andrea that every night he dreamed about returning to her side.  She says she dreamed about him, too.  She brings him up on all he news. Her mother and the older brother have a mega romance going on. He just laughs which annoys her. She tells him to think taboo it because that gorilla could be their baby's grandfather!  He honestly doesn't get it thinking that she should be happy because her mother is. Andera is only embarrassed and then on top of it all, her sister is going out with the little brother. She does have confidence in her father being there because she is sure that he will put everything in order. She thinks that since Omar is now there, he can help convince her mother that Adrián has changed. She wants them all united as a big loving family once again. Omar has fallen asleep.

4. Elías is at home looking at  a framed photo of his son who is telling him that he is rejecting his surname and has no interest in his money.  It disgusts him knowing his blood runs in his veins. Elías takes the portrait and throws it on the floor. The voice of Omar tells him to consider him dead and that he never wants to see him again in this life. Elías throw his glasses of whisky on the floor next. Eliás tells another one of his son's photos that he did it all for his own good. Omar is an ingrate. He throw that photo on the floor, too.

5. 2XJosé tells Chente he is worried because they don't have a lot of inventory and their customers are going to the competition to buy what they need. Chente tells him to calm down. He came into a good amount of money to invest in the fonda and a new distributor will be supplying them. 2XJosé doesn't have to worry about anything. Regina passes by the shop for 2XJosé.  They are going to study for the entrance test for prep school.  2Xjosé is hoping to get a scholarship. Chente is impressed by their efforts.

6. Granny Magos has heard about Juanga getting fired. She says he is still young and there must be something that motivates him, that he is passionate about. JuanGa says there was when he was a little kid. He  wanted to be an astronaut. Annoyed, she says there he is on the moon again! Juanga says that is what it was like with Olga. He was on the moon touching the stars. Granny Magos is sick of hearing about that Olga. Juanga just cannot get over her.

7. An exuberant Adrián calls Natalia. He has some good news for her. She says there is nothing that he could tells her that she would be interested in. He begs to differ. He insists that Andrea is beyond feeling good because Omar returned to Mexico. He assures her that all of their misunderstanding are a thing of the past. They are together at the house and are very very happy. Natalia thanks God. She says Adrián knows how much Andrea loves him. Adrián says he does, too, that is why he helped him get back with Andrea. He adds that  he was possibly inciting  problems with Elías but at this point it doesn't matter. Natalia thanks him for fighting for Natalia's happiness and the baby.  What he did is priceless. Adrián makes it clear that it shows how much he loves them. He wants her to listen.  He will never stop fighting for them, never. Natalia advises him to start a new life without her. He says that he doesn't need a new life but wants what they had. Natalia says that is not possible.  If Vero was not the right woman then he surely can find a woman who can love him and make him happy. He tells her that is not possible because there isn't a woman who could ever compare to her. He says even though they are married and she is having a relationship with "Vicente" (he almost chokes on saying the name), he will remain loyal to her until she returns to her side. Natalia is horrified with what she is hearing and hangs up.

8. JuanGa doesn't want to hear GrannyMagos say that time cures all wounds one more time. He is sure he will never get over what he feels for Olga. He says that Olga is stuck in his chest like a knife wound between his chest and his back. Granny tells him to cut the dramatics. There must be some way to get her out of his heart. She tells him to work, study, and move on ahead in his life. She cannot see him crying over that evil woman. He asks her not to scold him feeling down as he does. He asks if she is hungry and offers to make her something for supper. She wants some special meatballs with egg on the inside . He agrees with a smile because whenever he cooks somehow his sadness passes. It looks like Granny Magos has an idea.

9. Olga is having dinner out with Adrián. He asks what happened to her. She says it was an accident and Chente was to blame. He wants to know what he did to her. With a smile, Olga agrees to tell him the truth and tells him that nothing happened. She just pretended it did. The  important thing is that she has Chente  eating out of her hand because he feels guilty. She even got him to invite her to live at his house so he could take better care of her. Adrián now understands why Natalia wanted to leave. She continues telling  him how Chente was mad as a dog when Adrián took Natalia to the hotel. He wanted her out but Natalia convinced him that nothing happened. So, that is where the relationship is now. Adrián assures her that the current situation won't last for long.   Olga tells him to get going already so Natalia is away from  her man. Adrián assures her that he will not stop until Natalia is back by his side but gaining Natalia's confidence is going to take some time. Olga adds some more info. to get him moving. Natalia and Chente are not only sharing the same house but also are sharing the same bed every night. Adrián is not pleased.

10. Natalia sees JuanGa cooking his meatballs in the kitchen. She is impressed with his recipe and the sauce that she tastes. She tells him she would like to include it on the fonda menu. She explains how they are getting the fonda started. He asks if she would hire him.

11. Olga gets to the point.  She is in the middle of a mess. She needs his help and his money like today. She explains that a guy is blackmailing her. Yes, it is  the same guy who helped her pretend there was an accident. She needs 15,000 "varos" (pesos)($752 US). Adrián says he will help her out but reminds her that nothing is for nothing in this life. She is going to have to do a couple of things for him, too. She says no worries. She is very grateful and especially to a handsome man like him. He says she would be a temptation for any man but makes it clear he isn't interested in what she is offering. He is looking for something very very  special  in exchange. She says if he comes through, he can ask for whatever he wants. They toast on it.

12. Samia comes into the living room wondering why everything is all broken. Elías philosophically answers saying that there are other broken things that do not have anyway to fix them. She sees Omar's photos on the floor and Elías declares him dead. Samia goes crazy. He then clarifies: Omar is dead for THEM. He doesn't want to hear his name again in their house. She wants to see him and wants know where he is. Eías says that Omar will not put a foot in  his house. His son rejected his name and his family. He also forbids that Sami go looking for or sees him. She whines that he is her Chuchú. Elías makes it clear that he is DEAD to both of them. He warns her not to defy him by trying to protect her son because if she does, he swears that he will leave her destitute.

13. JuanGa talks about how when he was a kid he liked to cook a whole lot and his food  came out really tasty. He thinks he could be the best at cooking. Natalia admits that she is going to need somebody to help her in the kitchen.  He asks if she would give him a chance. He will wash  rags, go to the market, do whatever she wants.  She wants to be sure that he is going to commit to working for her. He is so very sure and she won't have any thing  to complain about. He can show her the kind of flavors they like in the neighborhood and she can show him all of her exotic dishes she makes. Natalia thinks they could combine their flavors and come up with an interesting kind of fusion. He agrees. She tells him that  he is hired and they shake on it.

14. Chente has arrived and Natalia tells him the good news about Juanga working with her in the kitchen. Chente is very happy but tells Natalia they have to go to a get-together at Chole's.

15. Outside of Connie's house there is a fire burning with all of the things she bought for the baby. She is watching it all sobbing when Claudio calls. He thought she would want to known that Tavo proposed to the  hairdresser. They are going to celebrate the event tonight at the boarding house..Connie says that is something she cannot permit  and she keeps bawling.

16. Tavo tells the guests that they are there to share in their happiness because now they can finally live in a world where they can love each other and try soon they will join their lives.  They pledge their love to each other in front of all their friends. She will make sure their home has faith, peace and love because where those three things abide, so does God and where He is, there is no want. Everyone cheers. Ben asks Chente if he and Natalia are going to get married. They both say they would marry each other tomorrow. Ben goes to tell his sister. Natalia remarks that the only thing that is causing her happiness not to be complete is the lack of Andrea's approval of their relationship. Chente is sure she will come around after she is a mother and starts seeing life in a different way and value what is really important. She prays every night for that. Chente prays that their family can stay together. He asks when she is filing for divorce which is the first step that needs to be taken before they get married. As Vale talks to one of the mechanics about how crazy she is about Mario, he walks in with Fernanda on his arm. The mechanic reminds her they are from two different worlds.

17. Olga insists that Adrián drop her off down the block so nobody sees them together. Also, she needs to pay Simba. Adrián advises her to be very firm with him so he doesn't keep extorting her. Olga says she is between a rock and a hard place. He tells her if Simba wants more money to send him directly to him and he will put a stop to him. She asks if he would really do that for her. He reminds her that they did agree to help each other out in everything. Olga doesn't know what to say but she just could smother him with kisses. They flirt admitting they have the hots for each other and almost go for it, when Olga decides to get out of the car and leaves Adrián high and dry. He laughs.

18. Mario and Fernanda congratulate Chole and Tavo and move on to Vale. He introduces Vale as the best mechanic ever and a great friend who is going to be his partner in a new business.  When Fernanda extends her hand after the introduction, Vale looks at her hand, looks at Mario, turns and leaves. Fernanda says that his friend doesn't care for her much. Mario explains that Vale thinks she is in love with him.

19. Simba counts the money and tells Olga that the payment is complete. Olga says it will be the last one he will be getting. Simba disagrees and tells her it is the first of a monthly payment schedule. She will pay  or her secrets will be out. Olga says that is not what they agreed on. By the way, he has news for her. Everyone is at the boarding house. Tavo signed his divorce and proposed to Chole who accepted. It would be great if the same thing happened to her but Chente will only be giving her a ring in her dreams.

20. Mario tells Fernanda that he has been very careful with Vale having told her that he could only offer friendship. Vale is beautiful, fun,  always makes him laugh and is very supportive. Fernanda asks him if he is sure that he isn't in love with Vale. When he doesn't answer, Fernanda says that his silence says it all. He thinks that if he ever gave himself a chance to fall in love with Vale, he would. Fernanda asks why doesn't he.  Mario answers that Vale isn't the  woman he is looking for or to have a fling with. He isn't the kind of man who doesn't take a woman's feeling into consideration. Vale doesn't deserve that. Fernanda finds that very noble of him. Mario says he doesn't want to hurt her. He tells Fernanda that right now, he is feeling a very special connection with her. They kiss. Chole looks shocked. Natalia is smiling. Chente is getting a kick out of it. Natalia so hopes that Fernanda and Mario make a go of it. Andrea and Omar arrive.

21. In the kitchen, Vale is crying over Mario being with Fernanda  to Chole. Chole says she knows that Vale was very hopeful about Mario and she is sorry. Vale feels she is out of her league when it comes to competing with a woman like Fernanda. Chole  tries to make her understand that she has so many good qualities that are more valuable than money. Vale agrees but she thinks that Mario is only attracted by appearance and doesn't care about what a person is like on the inside.

22. Out in the party area, Omar tells Regina that he had no idea that Andrea was pregnant until Adrián  told him.  She adds that they have no idea about  the horrid things his parents did to get him out of the country. Claudio wants to discuss the rumors but Tere shuts him up. Natalia is so happy for her daughter finally smiling again. She also recognizes that Omar confronting his father was not an easy thing to do but  it talks to the great love he has for her daughter. He affirms that he loves Andrea and will never leave her alone.

23. Kim is all over JuanGa. She is willing to help him get Olga out of his heart. Olga comes into the party in her hot pink satin dress. Juanga goes over to greet her. She is there to congratulate Chole even though she wasn't invited. He offers to go with her but she sees he was been flirting with Kim so she is going to allow him to continue.  She tells him it is better for her anyway, cuts him off and goes to find Chole.

24. Chole tells Olga that she is looking better. Olga cannot resist playing her pity card  and tells Chole and Tavo that she still feels a little bad. Anyway, she is there to congratulate them and even if they do not believe it, she is happy for them. She gets all animated and grabs Chole's hand to look at there ring. She thinks it looks great.

25. Chole takes Olga to the side. Olga asks if she is still angry with her. Chole says she is not angry but disappointed. Chole asks her if she has apologized to Vale. Olga answers that she will not apologize for something she didn't do.  Olga is offended that Chole would think that of her.  Chole says Olga has to live with her conscience but she knows Olga better than anyone.  She knows when she is deceiving people. Chole has a feeling  that Olga is hiding something.

26. Omar is left with Andrea as she gives her most cruel and crude appraisals of the people in her family. How could Tavo end up with such a common woman like Chole?? She moves on to Regina. How could she go out with HIM(2XJosé)? Omar tries to explain it is her first boyfriend. Well, what Andrea really cannot stand is her mother with the oldest naco brother. Just look at them kissing in front of everyone! Omar smiles telling her to take another look at her mother because she is happy. Before he left, she almost never smiled. Andrea wants to know what happened to him in London so that he can see all of this as "normal."  She wants to remind him that this riffraff is going to be THEIR baby's family.  Omar says after everything he went through, he has now realized what things are worthwhile. Andrea adds that horrible things happened to her in this neighborhood and for that reason she wants her mother to leave this foolishness behind and get back with her dad. Omar says he is very grateful to her father but he knows it is going to be very difficult for her parents to get back together. Andrea says that is why her father needs their help. That is the least they can do. Andrea decides that she is going to invite Adrián to the party. Omar asks her not to because that would make her mother very uncomfortable. Andrea states that is exactly what she wants to do. She calls him.

27. Connie arrives outside of Chole's with a smile on her face.

28. Claudio makes a  a toast to the novios! The toast is to life bringing the novios together and much happiness after they finished off the witch of the story. He drunkenly twirls away laughing as everyone stares. Chole and Tavo toast to their love and each other now being free to have a family life together.

29. As they kiss and everyone cheers, Connie makes her entrance. Connie announces that she is there to congratulate her little Gus and give Chole her most heartfelt condolence. Seeing the cheap little thing he gave her for a ring roves they will end up living in poverty. Chole tells Connie that she is  the one who has ended up living in poverty with her because even though she is awash in money, nobody wants her. That is why she has ended up all alone. Connie says that Chole doesn't need to come to Tavo's aid. He can defend himself. Connie says that was one of the mistakes she made with him. Tavo reminds her that "those unsolved problems"  were resolved the moment the divorce papers were signed. Connie hopes that this woman puts up with him but frankly she doubts that she will. He is such a poor excuse for a man. She is certain that he will leave Chole just as unhappy or even more unhappy than he left her. Tere finally comes over to shut her daughter up telling her she has no business being there. As Connie starts to unleash more vitriol about Tere being Chole's #1 advisor, Natalia goes to aid her mother to move Connie out. With Tere on one side and Natalia on the other, Connie tells them she doesn't need crutches  to walk.

30. As she turns to leave, Connie sees Omar and Andrea together. She has to remark that they are a couple to be celebrated! Andrea and Omar finally together! She hopes that things with his father didn't end too badly. Omar says that he is dead to his parents, if she wanted to know. Connie says that is so bad for Andrea. What is she going to do with a boy who has lost EVERYTHING when she is so very much attracted to money???  Andrea insists that their being together is the only thing that matters to her. Connie tells Omar he better be ready to really strive to get ahead  because he has a novia who would do ANYTHING to live in luxury. Does he know what she is capable of doing . . that she is even capable of selling her own child?  Connie asks a mortified Andrea if she made a mistake . . . She winks and sends Andrea a kiss before leaving.  Omar goes chasing after Connie as everyone watches.

31. Omar, having caught up with Connie, asks her to clarify what she said.  She informs him  that Andrea used her to get out of this damn neighborhood and get rid of what she called "her little problem." She offered her the child in exchange for money, her house,  a life of luxury, credit cards and a current car. Connie is sorry to say but Andrea is an opportunist who doesn't show remorse because she has never wanted his child.

32. In the kitchen,  Natalia, with her mother and Regina, confronts Andrea about what Connie said. Andrea doesn't want to talk. They are abhorred with what they heard. Andrea,  in tears,  explains that Omar had left her and her aunt offered to adopt the baby. Natalia asks her if she accepted that agreement. Natalia says she will be talking to Connie because what she did is unforgivable but Andrea worries her. Regina cannot see giving up a baby for a new car. Tere informs her that babies are not to be sold. Andrea says she knows that (haven't we heard this line before from her?)  and she is sorry but Connie did not stop pressuring her. Andrea insists that now she knows it was a bad thing to do.  Natalia has never been so disappointed in her. Andrea  can come up with all kinds of excuses but what she did cannot be excused. Andrea tells them enough already and to put a stop to all of the drama. There is no reason for concern because  she is going to be with Omar and she will raise her child thanks to everything her father did.  He was the ONLY one who helped them out. She angrily leaves as Natalia asks her mother where did she go wrong in raising Andrea. She just doesn't' understand her. (the real problem is that Adrián was the father, wouldn't you say?). Tere assures her that she didn't do anything wrong and gives her a hug along with Regina.

33. Omar tells Connie that what she has told him is a a lie. Andrea would be incapable of doing something like that. No matter what he says, Connie knows that deep down he knows that she is right. Doesn't he know Andrea? She suggests he gets on his knees and apologizes to his father because what other way will he be able to support Andrea at the level she is accustomed to.  Does he really think that Adrián, the  thief, will support them? She laughs and says (talking about "the king of Rome") "speak of the devil, " look   who has just arrived. It is Adrián.  Connie tells Omar that Adrián can confirm everything she told him but he is not to worry because her contract that she had with Andrea is broken. Connie leaves Omar standing on the street.

34. Adrián sees that Connie has left and approaches Omar grabbing him by the arm to get his attention. He wants to know what Connie told him. Omar says that Andrea wanted to sell their baby. Adrián says that Connie is a snake, a damn witch who manipulated Andrea. Omar doesn't look convinced and starts to leave to talk to Andrea. Adrián jerks him back and asks what is wrong with him. He warns Omar that his only purpose is to love his daughter and make his daughter happy. His help had a price on it and now Omar will pay. Omar thought he helped them  because of the love he had for his daughter. Adrián says the very least  that Omar could do would to be grateful. He should realize everything that he owes him.  Does he have a penny to his name?  Omar says he doesn't plan to stand there and do nothing. Adrián informs him that  until he can support his daughter and his grand child  in the manner that they are accustomed to, Adrián will have the final word on everything. Omar is upset he is being controlled again like by his own father. Adrián makes it clear that he  will provide him with a great salary as his employee and all he has to do is make his daughter happy. He asks if he was clear. Omar reluctantly nods.

35. Back at the party,  Chente notices that Natalia looks upset and she agrees.  Adrián makes his entrance. Andrea runs to greet her daddy. Natalie sees him and tells him that he has no business being there. Adrián says Andrea told him about the party so he just stopped by to give a big hug to his super-friend Tavo. Tavo steps forward and tells Adrián that his visit is uncalled for.  He stopped considering him a friend when he did such crooked things to Natalia, Tere and the rest of them. He is not welcome. Chente backs up Tavo and advises Adrián that it is time to leave. Adrián agrees apologizing to Natalia and telling all of them that it was not his intention to bother them. Natalie says that is exactly what he is going to do and asks him to go. With his ---- ------ grin,  he tries to make small talk with Regina. Next, he passes by Andrea to tell her that all is well, calls Omar a good boy and says he will see them at home. Finally, he leaves. Andrea immediately attacks her mother saying she went too far. Natalia grabs her by the arm and takes her to another room because they are going to talk whether she likes it or not.

36. Outside, Adrián is surprised to find Olga waiting for him. She informs him that they are leaving there together. He tells her to get in. They drive off.  What they do not know is that Claudio witnessed their driving away together.

Jarifa: Good Job on the recap! Big question is whether Claudio will open his big mouth or keep it shut ?

Steve Boudreaux

Hi everyone! Hello from Santa Fe. :-)

I hate Andrea so much. Every time I see the actress on screen with those squirrels living above her eyes for eyebrows I want to retch. If she has a Feliz Para Siempre I will be livid.

Chantal Andere was magnificent in her evil in her scene at Chole & Tavo's engagement party. Was anybody else reminded of the scene from Disney's "Sleeping Beauty" when Maleficent (with the incredible voice of Eleanor Audley) shows up just to curse the infant and ruin the party?? The actress must have had a terrific time filming the scene (she sure looked like she did- I loved her kiss to Andrea at the end!!)

Speaking of La Andere, I notice that Telemundo is about to start the filming of their telenovela version of "The Count of Montecristo" with a cast full of Televisa actors who are no longer under contract, including three here- Omar Fierro (Elias), Sergio Sendel (Adrian) and Chantal Andere. And it's starring Fernando Colunga and Ana Brenda Contreras, with Jessica Coch (CME's 'Roberta', "Mi Pecado", etc.)!!!
Let's hope it improves Telemundo ratings.....

Olga, Olga, Olga.... what a horrible human being, but I sure envy the actress for having a body like that! Even 25 years ago, I could never even have DREAMED...

I want Veronica to come back and torture Adrian some more. She may be a soulless serial-killer who uses her victims as fertilizer, but she sure knows how to get under his skin and it would be nice to see that self-assured grin wiped off his face!
I am picturing for them an end like the one Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner shared in that great movie "The War of the Roses", hanging from the chandelier that will eventually kill them, still trying to destroy each other. One can only hope.
God knows they both deserve it!

Thank you for this recap, Jarifa, and to all the recappers who host this delightful little patio!

Eliete Padilla Castillo in Santa Fe :-)

Gracías, Jarifa! Another great recap that helps me understand what I saw and heard and didn't understand.

BTW, "With his[Adrián's] ---- ------ grin,..."   You know I counted those dashes, right?   :-)

I was happy to see Tavo and Chole make up and get engaged. Very much liked the music with the kiss. If they keep kissing like this by the end of the telenovela they might even look like they are enjoying those kisses.

Music. Just before the break, with Adrián and the Mean Girl in Pink in the restaurant, the music reminded me of El Hotel de los Secretos.

I feel bad for Chuchú. He thought he had killed a woman, had to deal with Verónica, then his father again, then with Adrián, and now with Andrea, who is not quite the sweet girl he thought. Although if he ever did think that then he was really naive; he's been getting quite an education lately.

Did Constanza really have to burn all the things she had bought for the baby? No Goodwill stores in Mexico? Well, I suppose she would never think of that.

More later. You have been warned.

JudyB! Another box of virtual chocolates being sent your way, and the box is full. I didn't eat even one.

Andy

Eliete, thank you for the information re the "telenovela version of "The Count of Montecristo" with a cast full of Televisa actors who are no longer under contract, including three here- Omar Fierro (Elias), Sergio Sendel (Adrian) and Chantal Andere. And it's starring Fernando Colunga and Ana Brenda Contreras."

That sounds like fun! Let's hope they do a good job of it.

Andy

Steve, I am hoping Claudio opens his big mouth and shouts what he saw from the roof tops. Unfortunately, he will probably be using the info to get something for himself like another bottle of booze. :(

Eliete, yes, Connie at the party did very much have that “Sleeping Beauty” vibe to it. Great call on Andrea’s “squirrel” eyebrows. I will never understand why women want their eyebrows to arrive/be seen before they do/are. It has been a very bad trend but might finally be on the way out. Thanks for “The Count of Montecristo”info. I had only heard about Colunga being cast. Looks like fun.

Andy, I am glad somebody counted the dashes! There is just no other expression that does justice to that obnoxious never failing grin. ITA about poor ChuChú. The poor guy cannot catch a break and now is doomed to a lifetime of b***** witchy Andrea under Adrián’s watchful gaze. As for “The Count”, I see you mentioned that Ana Brenda will be in it, too. Haven’t see her since “La que no podía amar” when it was on the a.m. schedule of oldies a few years ago.

OT-Judy Update

I got a quick update from Judy's family--she's HOME!! and much happier. Keep those messages flowing...they are being read to her and they brighten her day :-)

OT

Thanks, RGvChick, that is the best news ever!

OT

Rgv Chick, that is indeed wonderful news! Thank you so much for sharing.

Judy, there is no place like home is there? I know you will be more comfortable there, surrounded by your wonderful family. We are praying that each day you get a bit stronger. We are keeping your front row seat warm and have cold and hot beverages available along with delicious treats. After it hit almost 100 here over the weekend, it will be 45 tonight. Thank heavens climate change is only a myth...:)

Wishing you sunny skies today amiga!

Diana

Great job, Jarifa.

I really hate Samia's nick for her son. "Chuchú" is suitable for a lap dog or a puppy, not a grown man. Of course, this probably means that she doesn't see him as a grown man and he never will be one if his parents don't begin treating him like one.

If he can learn on his own, more power to him. Of course, he will have to see Andrea for what she really is.

Actually, I would like to see Elias cut her off without a centavo and see if she can make a comeback from it. Who else can't see that happen?

Love the idea of Juanga becoming a local chef. He will soon develop more respect for Natalia which should help him get over that bitch Vulga. Maybe he should be the one who catches her abusing Benjamin. It looks like that might be the only way he will come to his senses.

Claudio is more likely to blackmail Adrian for serious cash.

More later.

Thanks, Jarifa, this was an interesting episode with some pairing up and at least one wondering what he got himself into.

Claudio always wants to gossip but I bet this time he doesn’t. It would help our two lovebirds a lot, which is why I don’t see it happening.

Omar has really matured. I was impressed that he defended Natalia and Regina and their choices. And now he’s learned what Andrea and Adrian are really like. I feel bad for him. Maybe this will change Andrea.

Why on earth does JuanGa think Olga was so pure and untouched. I just see a whore, and some other words I won’t use.

I felt sorry for Valentina, but I have a feeling Fernanda is going to help Mario rethink his feelings.

I don’t see Sami giving up her son. Elias is no better than Adrian. This show is packed with great storylines.
Liz

Jarifa, I just watched this while I simultaneously read your amazing recap. It was incredible amiga.

“She will make sure their home has faith, peace and love because where those three things abide, so does God and where He is, there is no want” was lovely.

For a few brief moments, Omar looked truly happy. Having gone to hell and back to return to Andrea and their unborn child, he looked like a man who had everything. Watching him process Andrea’s vitriol and listening to the (sadly true) story of Andrea trying to
sell” the baby, Adrian’s plan to manipulate and rule him just like Elias made me very sad.

“She tells him to think taboo it because that gorilla could be their baby's grandfather”. Rather than her cruel assessment of Chente, perhaps Andrea should consider the sizably greater stigmatism of the “other” grandfather/murderer/thug.

“Juanga says that is what it was like with Olga. He was on the moon touching the stars”. Sigh. At least he has a job – someone here predicted that he would help with the restaurant but I can’t remember who. Good job!

Vale, Fernanda and Mario are an interesting triangle. Mario surprised me with how honest he was in telling Fernanda the potential of his feelings for Vale. Who is the guy with the green hair? He seems very nice and might be a good match for Vale. I do think Fernanda is a better match for Mario. Chole, alternating between seeming angry and concerned, obviously does not agree with me.

Neither fire starter Connie, disgusting Elias or his repulsive wife deserve mention so I won’t.

Adrian and Olga. Hell and high water.

Jarifa, you are the best, thank you!

Diana

Liz, Olga sure does look like a whore to me, too.

Diana, the guy with the green hair is one of the mechanics at Tavo's shop. I went back to #49 where he was identified as Donovan. I probably will quickly forget that again. ; ) I also think that Fernanda is a better match for Mario. We do not need another old guy with a younger woman and in this case, Vale is MUCH younger since Mario is more like Natalia's age. "Hell and high water" yes! Those two would make a suitable pair: both are rotten to the core.

Donovan. Thanks Jarifa, I will try to remember that!

And yes, I also keep forgetting Mario is Adrian's and Natalia's contemporary. Vale is definitely too young for him. No more May and December romances. Please! :)

Diana

Thanks, Jarifa. Super recap.

Loved loved loved Connie outing Andrea at the party! Bravo, Maleficent [thanks, Eliete]! Poor Omar, between a rock and a hard place. Will Samia at least help her Chuchu on the down low?

I too hated watching Connie burning the baby's things. Such a waste.

JudyB, Whoohoo! It's wonderful to hear the good news that you are back home with your family!

OT

Rgv Chick, thank you for sharing this excellent news with us! It is heartening to know that Judy is making some progress, hopefully lots of progress.

Andy

Liz, "Why on earth does JuanGa think Olga was so pure and untouched. I just see a whore, and some other words I won’t use."

Thank you! It's about time somebody said something nice about our sweet Olguita   :-)

It's not easy being Olga. Every single phone call she gets from any guy starts the same way, "What are you wearing right now?"

It must get tiring.

Diana, "disgusting Elias or his repulsive wife". Repulsive? Surely you're not talking about my Sammie Girl! She is one of the stars of this silly TN.
For someone who writes such lovely recaps (usually for telenovelas I never watch, unfortunately) this is cruel of you   :-)
And beware, you don't want to rile our Sammie, she might just direct a little negative energy your way.

Quite honestly, these wacky women are the lifeblood of this lackluster novela. The men are all silly and/or extremely offensive characters. Probably the best someone could say about one of the men is that he is inoffensive.

Of them, only wimpy Omar is showing any real growth or intelligence. The Chuchú who could... maybe.

Andy

What a fun thread this is, everyone- thanks for the laughs!! :-)

I just realized now who Judy is (JudyB, her profile picture is of a short-haired woman with white hair and a nice smile) and, if I am not overstepping my boundaries here, I would like to also add my well-wishes and hopes for a speedy return to good health.

As I know I expressed in one of my first postings on the website, I have been coming here for a long time. Telenovelas are in my blood (Brazilian on my father's side, Mexican on my mother's), but it seemed everybody already knew one another, so I was quite happy for literally years just enjoying the interplay between you all, and using your experiences to help me get caught up with whatever I may have missed, episode-wise, with whichever show I may have been watching.

Anyway, I now realize who this Judy is, and want to extend to her my best wishes and my hopes that she can soon join US (I am boldly including myself here... sometimes it takes a while to come out of one's shell) on a patio here soon.

I work shifts, so oftentimes I may not comment (too tired, or still have to watch the Capitulo which I FAITHFULLY recorded), but I appreciate the efforts of all of you, and am glad to be here and commenting. Get well soon, JudyB!!!

Regarding the capitulo (which I already commented on), I wanted to add that I also was feeling bad for the Omar character.... until I decided to Google the actor (because he was hitherto unknown to me). My GOD... his name is Rodrigo Brand and he made 48 year old me wish I was 25 years younger and possessing of more self-confidence than I ever have had!!!
Sebastian Rulli WHO?????

Full disclosure also (because at the end of a night shift, tired though one may be, it sometimes takes a while for sleep to set in...), I also did this with another actor unknown to me in this production, that being the woman playing the evil Veronica, who is Greek... she won me over because her Instagram profile lists her as a "Cat mom" first, and only THEN includes the hashtags to her acting accomplishments ("MFEA", "El Dragon", etc....).

More proud of your animals before your fame??? That is my kind of gal!!!

Take care, everyone.

Eliete PC

Andy....ha.." The Chuchu who could..." I agree . Omer seems dim but decent . The bar has been set muy, my low, no?.

Eliete...so glad you joined in....the more the merry here on the patio. It's a nice place to take a break from life's slings and arrows for awhile each day.

I know that judy will appreciate your good wishes .

Andy, I've had the pleasure of watching several novelas with you. And please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe this is the first time we've had a slight difference of opinion on one of the characters.

Why do I dislike Samia? It's simple. She makes me sick. She tricked and lied to her only child, she is selfish, self-serving, prejudiced, snobbish, judgmental, accusatory, manipulative, mean spirited and oh so much more. Her affectations, speech, finger snapping and hideous hair just add to the loathing.

I cannot recall any character in the decade and a half I've been watching novelas that has stirred up such strong emotions, I literally feel myself tense up every time she appears onscreen. So now I've said it...

To be honest, I have tried to hold back and often erase what I've written before I post. But watching her last night in that gold foil get up (Hershey's called and they want their wrap back) was just too too much. I know you enjoy her character and that's great. I am going to try to censor myself as best I can but I just can't make any promises! :)

Eliete, the actor playing Omar is 48? I really am surprised, he must be drinking heartily from the fountain of youth.

I still cringe at Connie burning the baby's clothes.

Diana

Diana, please do NOT try to censor yourself. Differences of opinion make these telenovelas all the more fun. Sometimes the only fun. One more reason I miss Judy.

I really do watch these for the Spanish and the eye candy. I think the stories themselves are nonsense, so I try to not get too excited about them one way or the other. But I have to admit that at a certain point in almost all novelas I start to get very cranky.

That's when I have to fall back on "interesting" (definitely in quotes) characters, usually women, most often good-looking women, quite often bad good-looking women. We have to take our fun where we can find it. I think this is why guys are often OK with really evil Villainesses, especially if they are, what else?, good-looking. In fact, I think we will sometimes root for them, "You go, Girl! Knock off a few more of those boring characters and take their money!"

At least the "Vencer" series is honest, "Women are wonderful, and men are scum, although a few are cute and maybe could be house broken."

Me, I'm hoping against hope for a TN with a few dominatrixes in it. Would keep me from falling asleep... maybe.

Andy

You had me in stitches Andy.

We do have a lot of fun in our diverse viewpoints of our beloved and not so beloved characters. And yes, I miss bantering with our Judy a bit although I usually felt as she did most of the time.

I readily admit I've given more than one "interesting" galan a pass for fairly unforgiveable affronts! I started watching for the romance, now sadly lacking although the tawdry hook ups and affairs have provided a bit of a diversion.

I'm sure my hand will start itching to type at the next Samia sighting. I will try to be gentle, but I'm not terribly convinced that's possible. :)

Diana

OT
Susanlynn, you sent me greetings a while back and I didn't get back to you. I hope things are going well for you.

Judy B, sounds like you've been facing some challenges==good to hear you are back home. Hoping for good things for you, as well.
