Discussion Page Mi Fortuna Es Amarte #69 June 2,2022

 Hi all-

I've had a serious family emergency with my nephew so I was unable to watch the episode last night, I'm exhausted, hopefully things will settle down by next week.

Family first, definitely. Sending good wishes to you and your family.

What I remember from last night:

1. Natalia’s restaurant is closed down as everyone is eating.

2. Tere tells Claudio off for being a loser and an alcoholic living off of fantasy. His political”mentor” tells him he has no hope of any foreign service assignment ever. Connie calls him a failure and pathetic. He keeps drinking.

3. The food critic David Tellez, who is also a famous chef, gives Natalia’s restaurant a wonderful review. Natalia and Chente hear his review over the radio on a bus. He also writes about it in the newspaper.

4. Simba and company steal everything out of Chente’s shop.

5. Chente sells his beloved red truck to get some money.

4. At Adrián’s bidding, Simba and company begin a reign of crime in the neighborhood.

5. Andrea is upset over Samia and now Connie trying to run the wedding. Omar tells her they will have to postpone wedding because he no longer has a job.

6. Mario tells Adrián he wants to help Chente by supplying him with some parts since he was cleaned out by robbers. Adrián makes it clear he will NEVER help Chente EVER.

7. Lorenzo puts the moves on Regina.

8. Chente and Natalia take joy out of the great review and their love for each other and dance to the theme song. Soon everyone else at the house joins in except for Olga who goes up to her room and pledges once again to make Chente hers.

Stream of consciousness comments: LOL

Andrea was such a brat worried she would smell of onion when JuanGa joined the group hug.

Lorenzo was such a jerk telling Regina that where she was living was “curioso” (strange) for a girl of her background.

I loved Samia calling Andrea “Andi cejitas” “Little eyebrows Andi”

I didn’t like Tere believing Claudio’s BS about what his political mentor was doing for him when he was being sidelined at the mentor’s office.

I LOVE any episode of any show where the music from the episode is included or the title itself. I still remember Rick in “The Walking Dead” declaring “We are the walking dead.”

That is all for now.

PrincessJuju, thanks for putting up a discussion page. Take good care.

Princess, saying a prayer for you and your family. I'll join Anon in saying Family First, always!

Jarifa, thank you for noting all of the important events.

I especially appreciated the translations. I had to laugh as isn't "Samia calling Andrea “Andi cejitas” “Little eyebrows Andi” the pot calling the kettle black?

I know Andrea is no ones's favorite but I did feel for her having Connie and Sami backing her into a corner about what they want for the wedding. And of course, Connie is but laser focused on the baby.

"Lorenzo was such a jerk telling Regina that where she was living was “curioso” (strange) for a girl of her background". Thank you Jarifa. I honestly had no idea what he was saying as I was transfixed, staring on his hair. Is it highlighted? I've never seen those glorious shades of ash blonde in real life, on anyone.

I loved the dancing. Sometimes you have to seize good news with everything you have and hold on for dear life. For a moment, it seemed Olga had a look of longing, quickly displaced by anger.

I also felt just a slight smidgen of pity for Claudio when he was clearly rejectly. He is pathetic, etc., but with everything going so badly all the way around, I'm pretty much feeling sorry for most (Adrian, Olga, Simba, Elias and a few others aside).

I wish I could remember more.

Jarifa, you always get to the crux of things, and so smoothly! thank you.

Diana

Princess Juju, I'm sorry to hear about your nephew. Hopefully things will work out OK and soon, and I also hope you can get some rest. Sometimes we have our own family drama rather than just the telenovela stuff.

Jarifa, thanks for your summary, and I think you got everything important. Anything you didn't include was minor stuff, such as how UGLY Sinba's evil henchcritters are. Where did he find these guys? Maybe living in a sewer.

Was it me, or was there an awful lot of slang used at the little dance party?

Olga was very disappointing at the episode's end. Diana, I think she did have a look of longing, but instead of seeing that people can be happy even when things are not going great, instead of listening to Juanga, she went again to the dark side. What a shame.

Andy

Thanks for the page, juju! Ruby red coat and puple ascot scarf. I like longer hair on guys also, but Hair Boy has hideous sense of color! —Jardinera654

Jarifa, hah! Yeah, I had a giggle at that new nickname for Andrea!! I wondered what the actress thought cuz I cannot think it was anything but Adkin.—Jardinera654

Ad lib!!

Princess Juju, so sorry for your family and hope all works out for your nephew. And thanks, Jarifa, for your summaries. I found this episode very depressing, seemed like everyone’s hopes and dreams were dashed. Highlights were the great restaurant review and the dancing. But I was really questioning why I watch shows that upset me!

Mario really wanted to help Chente, but Adrian wouldn’t agree, no surprise there. Andrea thanked Chente for selling his truck so maybe she’ll have a turnaround. I did not realize it was his father’s truck, that made it even more of a sacrifice.

I hope Regina sees through Lorenzo soon!

Princess..so sorry. I am sending you good vibrations ))))) )))))

Jarifa, thanks for the highlights ...well, let's say the main points because it was a pretty depressing episode as more bad things happened to good people . I love music and love to dance, so the Impromtu dance party was a spirit lifter plus it really ticked Olga off to see Nat and Chente happy and dancing with their fami!y...win win. Even Newabuela was dancing .

Wow, Simba's minions are creepy, especially the bald guy with the weird eyes sitting on the floor chewing.....something ?????

I was kind of hoping that were going to be surprised when the old drunk windbag was actually able to pull some strings and help reopen the restaurant . Nopis.

"...how UGLY Sinba's evil henchcritters are. Where did he find these guys? Maybe living in a sewer". OMG Andy, yes, truly sewer rats. I couldn't stop staring at the guy with the hideous tatoo beneath his lip. He was truly frightening.

I'm glad you saw Olga's look of longing too. Perhaps a glimpse into what her life might have been. Ahhh, the choices we make.

Jardinerea, "Ruby red coat and puple ascot scarf" - Lor's outfit was of many colors, and downright hideous!!

"Newabuela" - good one Susanlynn.

Liz, I didn't realize it was Chente's father's truck.

Diana

OT...Hello, Judy...sending you love , hugs, and kisses . xoxoxoxo

JUJU, don't worry about us. Your family is priority now.

Later in the episode Adrian paid Simba whose minions from hell salivated over the cash. They then went to the next phase and robbed a bus full of people.

Thanks for adding more info and your take on it all!

Diana, that was the pot calling the kettle black about Andrea’s eyebrows coming from Samia. Jardinera, that would be beautiful if it were ad lib.

Liz, thanks for the info that the truck belonged to Chente’s father. I missed that.

Susanlynn, Simba’s pals are creepy just like him. That particular one you mentioned was the worst. Loved “Newabuela.”

Andy, yes, the dance scene was slang laden from beginning to end. Nothing like “henchcritters”. That is a keeper!

Less than three hours to showtime!

I was using closed captions and listening. Pretty sure that’s what was said. Then, before the dancing, JuanGa said something about all they had of their dad and Chente said something about memories. Hope I’m right on that and not spreading rumors!
Liz
