Caray, Caray!

 Hey, JudyB,  we have a snack left-over-rama on the patio tonight. Let's see if we can clear them out. Feel free to take anything left with you. 

1. Andrea runs from her father's room. Adrián runs out half-dressed after her. She demands to know who SHE is cutting though his efforts to avoid answering the question. She calls him a liar and a traitor. He asks for just a minute as he retreats into her room. 

2. Back in his room he tells Olga to get dressed and  get out because Andrea has arrived. Olga starts to get dressed. 

3. Adrián goes back out into the hall more completely dressed telling Andrea that he is ready to talk to her. Andrea leads him away from the bedroom saying she doesn't want to hear what he has to say.  He follows his "little princess" his "little doll" all the way down the stairs. At the bottom, he grabs her arm which she wrenches away from him.  She confronts him about his wish to get back with her mother, to be one family again and now he has a woman in his bed. She  thought that he had bought the house for them. He grabs her again and she screams for him to let her go until he finally does. Suddenly,  he is all concerned about how upset she is getting carrying a baby. Andrea says she was the stupid one for believing him. He hugs her and as she struggles to get out of his embrace.  Olga slips out of the house sight unseen. He begs Andrea to calm down. 

4. Regina has never seen 2XJosé like this and tells him that Lorenzo just wants to be their friend. 2XJosé says  he knows that isn't Lorenzo's intentions but Regina is too good of a person to see what he sees. Regina states that she didn't know she would have to ask for his permission to make a friend. The truth comes out when 2XJosé says he feels that she doesn't want Lorenzo to know that he is her novio. She introduced him as the scholarship winner.  Regina tells him to cut the drama. She may be his novia but she isn't his property. She turns to leave. He grabs her but she pulls away. He isn't done. Well, she is and she goes to class. 2XJosé is left in turmoil.  Lorenzo appears, it seems only to smirk at 2XJosé. 

5. Andrea gives her father the third degree. She wants to know who the woman is and how long  he has known her. He says he just met her and she means nothing to him. They have only spent one night together. Andrea informs him that she heard him tell her that she drove him crazy. Adrián manages to get out his list of traditional excuses: he and her mother are separated; he is a man; he has his needs. Andrea makes it clear she doesn't want to know about any of the details. She cannot believe that he swore how much he loved her mother but still got a lover. That is it for her. Adrián begs his little princess to just realize that her mother has a lover and that is Chente. Andrea doesn't want to hear anymore because she will never believe in him again. He begs her not to turn her back on him.  He will lose it all without her support. Andrea is all teary and asks him why he did it. He explains that yesterday her mother asked him to sign the divorce papers and that so hurt his heart. Of course, he refused to sign them. He humiliated himself before her. He apologized to her and he begged even harder for another chance but her mother hates him. As he gains Andrea's sympathy, he tells of how he needed to go get a couple of drinks to consider his future and not  give up. He thinks his daughter is very young to understand his situation. He allowed his loneliness, sadness, and desperation in losing the love of his life to get the better of him. Andrea hugs him. 

6. 2XJosé2 finally makes it to class. The teacher calls out 2XJosé for arriving late  and tells him to sit over at a table in the back of the room with one seat open. Everyone turns to look at him and to look down at him recognizing him as "the scholarship winner" and seeing his entrance as being so "embarrassing."  .  Regina is sitting at a table with Lorenzo. She sees him walk in but quickly returns to her work. Lorenzo tells her that he rally doesn't care for her "bro" 2XJosé. Regina turns again to look at 2XJosé. 

7. Tere is still at Connie's and wants her to call Natalia to see if she needs her help for the grand opening of the fonda. Connie surprises her mother saying that she also wants to be present at such an important event for her sister. Tere thinks that would not be a good idea because she would run into Chole and Tavo and things are still rocky with Andrea. Connie says that is precisely why she wants to go. This is  her chance to smooth things out with the family. She has already apologized to Andrea and it would be a great time to do with same with Natalia. She asks if that is not what Tere always  wanted?  Connie turns and smiles to herself. 

8. Adrián knows that her mother has every right to ask him for a divorce. Andrea asks if he will sign it. Of course he won't!!! He loves he and is slowly dying without her and without being close to them. Andrea tries to explain that the time has come for him to accept that her mother has stopped loving him.  he says that isn't true. Her mother is just confused and is punishing him. he believes that she still loves him and can forgive him. It is only a matter of time. They spent 20 yers together!! That is no little thing. He insists that he would give his life for them all. Andrea says it is hard to believe him at this point. He begs her not o stop supporting him. He recognizes him that he is a man who can mistakes but there is one absolute in his life: he loves them. Andrea says he can count on her being on his side but he has to be more honest with her. He disappointed her once and he cannot do it again. He swears he won't do that and adds that  she and Regina are the most precious things in the world to him. He hugs her. 

9. Out in the park after school, 2XJosé is now being bullied by a gang of guys from the prep school.  Of course, Lorenzo is part of the group. They recognize him  as the scholarship guy and throw some pesos his way.  They take his hat asking if his mother knit it for him or if he bought it at the market. He gets up get it and one of the guy trips him so he ends up on the ground.  Lorenzo tells him he has no business being at that school; better that he stay in his own hood. He addresses him as  "carnal" (bro). 

10. Mario is at the country club trying to talk a food critic into paying Natalia's new fonda a visit. Mario explains she is doing traditional Mexican dishes with a touch of the gourmet.  The critic has heard that she  is opening a "fonda" (local family friendly restaurant).  Mario says it probably isn't the type of place he would go. The director says he has  no idea where  he would go. If the fonda is as good as Mario says, he will pay it a visit. Mario is to let him know when it has survived a month. 

11. The critic leaves and Fernanda arrives.She expresses her confusion with him. He is a sensitive, affectionate man  and a good friend who defends those he loves . . . BUT she cannot be in  love with him, even though it is a little late to have avoided it. After last night,  she knows his heart belongs to Vale. 

12. Vale tells Donovan how Mario got jealous. She is sure that he is in love with her and she plans on fighting for him driving him crazy with her love. Donovan has a good laugh. 

13. Mario wonders if Fernanda is just feeling jealous. He explains that  he was upset that such a woman of value such as Vale would go out with a guy like JuanGa who has a reputation as a real player. Fernanda isn't believing it and tells him she would like to end their relationship. She thinks he  needs to clarify his feelings. Mario insists he has nothing to clarify. She is the woman he wants by his side. He kisses her. He wants her to try. They need to get engaged. This is not a game for him. He asks her to run the risk of loving each other. She says she would rather end it now than end up hurt later. He reminds her that she just confessed that she fell in love with him and now she is going to run away? He asks her not to fear love.  She excuses herself and leaves. 

14. Chole has been to the doctor and comes back to the shop where she gives Kim the good news the she is pregnant. She asks her to keep it a secret until she can tell Tavo.

15. Andrea visits Omar at work where she tells him all about finding her father in bed with some woman and what he told her. Omar reminds her that her parents are separated and each one is remaking their lives.  She wants to help her father. Omar says that does not necessarily include him ending up back with her mother. Andrea is not pelted. Omar tells her to help her father to go on with his life. If she really loves her mother, he will want to see her happy. No, he doesn't think she will ever have the family she once had.

16. At the fonda Natalia is cutting  Olga no slack from the get go. She tells her that they were looking for her all morning long.  Olga has a thousand and one excuses but she  brought back flowers from the market to decorate the  tables!!Natalia says they need a waitress and she doesn't have a lot of confidence that Olga will be able to follow her orders. She won't be putting up with even one incident of her being disrespectful. Olga promises she will not cause her any trouble having given her this opportunity. Natalia makes it clear that before anything else,  she needs to know what Olga has going on with Adrián.

17. Lorenzo is with Regina as they leave school. She asks if he has seen  2XJosé  her NOVIO.  He says no but it is a real bummer that he is her novio and he starts to flirt with her. She asks if it isn't a little early for that. He jokes saying no, it is 1:00. She laughs. He asks if she likes him.  She smiles but before she  answers, 2XJosé comes from behind and spins Lorenzo around telling him to stay away from his novia. 

18. Olga explains that she already talked this over with Chente and thinks that he must have told Natalia. Natalia reminds her that she and Chente have no secrets from each other but she also knows Adrián who does nothing for anyone without getting something in return. Natalia asks what is her deal with him. Olga tells her to not see danger where there is none. /"ver moros con tranchetes" (look for Moors with curved knives)/  Olga adds if she really doesn't want her working at the fonda to just let her know already. Natalia asks again what kind of plan they are  concocting. Olga suggests again that they forget it. Natalia makes it clear that the  love that she and Chente have is different and they are building a new family together. God put Chente  in her life and she is going to defend their happiness. Neither she nor  Adrián  will separate them. Every little thing that they do to hurt them just makes her and Chente stronger. She thanks Olga for having pursued Chente, the man she loves,  as doggedly as she has, because that has made her realize how very lucky she is to have him in her life.  Olga's hands suddenly are in tight angry fists at her side as Chente calls out to Natalia. He has arrived with Ben and his buddy.

19. Lorenzo starts to laugh as he asks if 2XJosé is Regina's novio. That upsets 2XJosé who goes to hit him. Regina stops him. 2XJosé says first he treats him like garbage and now he wants his novia. Lorenzo says he doesn't want to fight with him because he doesn't want to hurt him. 2XJosé punches him in the face and Lorenzo punches him back. The guys end up brawling on the ground as Regina squeals in the background. Lorenzo's friends hold her back from stopping the fight.

20. Adrián talks to some government official Pepe Puente Carnales about the fonda. The man says that they have all of the proper permits. Adrián insists there must be something they can find to shut them down.  It is on the patio of a house!  He gives Pepe a check to find some reason to close the fonda down. Seeing the amount on the check, Pepe tells him consider it a done deal. Adrián wants the place buried in fines and so much paper work it will never see the light of day. They shake on it.

21. Chente explains to Olga that he asked Natalia to give her the job at the fonda so she could support herself. Olga is all grateful for the chance. Chente says with her pay and tips she will be able to rent her own  room. Natalie repeats her warning about losing this  chance for showing any disrespect or not doing her job. Olga insists she will do what she needs to. She appreciates what they have done for her. The flowers for the fonda are a gift from her so the they start off on the right foot. 

22. The director of the school comes out with a male faculty member to break up the fight. He addresses 2XJosé to find out what happened when Lorenzo breaks in saying that 2XJosé started it and he was only defending himself.  2XJosé says he smashed Lorenz's snout because "his bodyguards" went over the line with him already making fun of him because of his scholarship. Regina screams at 2XJosé that he never should have done what he did. He acted like an animal. He should have told the director what was going on. The director tells 2XJosé that  this is a high performance academic institution and not the Roman Coliseum and takes him inside to his office. Regina helps a smirking Lorenzo limp along to the infirmary with his pals. 

23. Vale is dancing with Juanga "the best novio" in the kitchen when Kim comes in. She sees them and is clearly jealous.  Tere comes in saying she smells something burning.  Juanga burned a large pot of rice. Tere throws the girls out. 

24. Out in the fonda, Vale explains that JuanGa and her are nothing to each other. Kim disagrees from what she just saw. Olga tells Kim if she is interested in JuanGa, she needs  to know that all she (Olga)  has to do is snap her fingers and he comes running. Vale leaves and Kim follows her out. Chente comes in and helps Natalia move a table. JuanGa tells Natalia about the rice problem. Natalia wants him to go buy more  rice at the store.  Olga takes advantage of everyone being involved in other things to steal Chente's keys out of the pocket of his shirt that is hanging on the back of a chair.  She then volunteers to go and get the rice so Juanga can stay cooking. 

25. The director tells 2XJosé not to put his scholarship at risk. They do not only only demand academic excellence but also exemplary behavior. He warns him that one more incident like this and he will be expelled. For now, he will be suspended  for three days. As 2XJosé holds an ice pack on his face, the director asks him to sign a form that he has been informed of his suspension. 

26. At the infirmary, Lorenzo ends up getting a couple of stitches as Regina watches on. He tells her if he would have known that she would help heal his wounds, he would have let 2XJosé bust up his entire face. She tells him she has to catch-up with 2XJosé because what he did was not right. She hates violence.  Lorenzo  invites her out to eat. She says she has to help out her mother with her grand opening of her fonda and needs to get going. He tries to invite himself to the  opening but she says that would not be a good idea.  He presumes that it because 2XJosé will be there. She says she will see him tomorrow in class and kisses him on the cheek before she leaves. 

27. Olga meets up with Simba and hands him the keys. He is planning on making copies of them and will return them to her lickety split. Simba tells Donovan he is going out for food and will be right back. 

28. 2XJosé is chasing Regina down after they get off the bus trying to apologize to her as she is crying and just want s to go home. She cannot deal with him being possessive and violent. All she sees are red flags with him. He tries to explain how he lost control. He promises that it won't happen again. She hopes it doesn't for his own sake. As for her, she thought that she was falling in love with him yesterday but after being so disappointed in him,  it is over. 

29. Mau is telling his cousin Lorenzo that he knows him and knows that he provoked the other guy. Lorenz says he just wanted everyone a the school to know that that guy is low class. Mau thinks he is a real rough piece of work.  He tells Lorenzo that he has to clean up because they have to go to some event that Regina's mother is giving. Lorenzo think that sounds pretty good to him.

30. 2XJosé begs Regina not to break up with him. She says that he told her that he wold protect her heart and be her super hero but then he ended up acting like a little kid. He disappointed her. She wanted to trust him. She though she could have something lovely and mature with him. 2XJosé tries to explain that he let himself get carried away. He asks her to forgive him again. She explains that what her father did to her mother has left her with real scars and that is why is is so hard for her to give her heart to anyone. 2XJosé says he should not have to pay for what her father did.  He asks her to think it over and not cut him off like this. She is sending him to Hades because of that little rich guy.  She tells him no. He needs to grow up.  She leaves and he goes chasing after her.

31. Simba watches the employees close Chente's shop. Omar makes sure that everyone knows they are invited to the grand opening at Chente and Natalia's fonda. Donovan gets Simba so they can go to the fonda. Tavo already has left.

32. The fonda is full of happy looking customers. Samia appears and lectures Andrea, who is playing hostess, about the importance of peace in the family. Natalia sees her and invites her in. Olga seats her. It turns out that Andrea is waiting for Regina who let her know that she had ended thing with 2XJosé. He got into a fight. 

33. Up in GrannyMagos' room, Chente is angry with 2XJosé who tries to explain that the guy pushed it and wanted to humiliate him. Chente asks so he hit him???  Chente says he has spent his life teaching them that arguments are not solved by violence. 2XJosé asks if he was to allow that guy to step all over him??? The guy also wanted to embarrass him in front  of Regina. GrannyMagos never expected it from him since he  always seemed so centered. He needs to leave that other stuff to the barbarians. Chente makes a point that  it is like he is dealing with JuanGa all over again again now with his THREE day suspension. 2XJosé goes on to explain what everyone is like at the prep school. They are all stuck up and treat him as if he is worth less than any of them. Chente says that might be but Regina has never treated him badly and never has Natalia. They both know that ones's worth is in the measure of their heart, their nobility, their humility and not of their wallet. GrannyMagos reminds him that he earned his place at that school with his intelligence. It is his future and he cannot afford to waste it like this. 2XJosé gets all that but what bothers him the most is that he lost Regina who now wants nothing to do with him. Chente hugs him.

34. Natalia cannot believe that Regina ended things with 2XJosé. She wants to know what happened. Regina doesn't want to burden her on a great day like this. Natalie insists but  Regina only says she is very strong and if she could deal with what her father dished out, she can deal with this. She is like her mother. Natalia doesn't pressure her and  wants her to know that she supports her. They agree to talk after the grand opening.

35. Mario arrives and gets a seat as Chente and Natalia come out to thank everyone for coming to the grand opening of their fonda. It looks like most everyone is there. Chente explains that this fonda is the realization his beautiful Natalia's dream to be able to support her daughters and move on ahead. Natalia thanks God for giving her this opportunity to have this joyful experience with all of them. She also  recognizes that no matter how small a business it still requires the hard work and dedication of many people. She recognizes JuanGa, Tere, GrannyMagos, Regina, Andrea, 2XJosé, Olga, and, of course, Ben! Ben has given them so much joy and without joy any dish loses its flavor. Natalia then give the most thanks and appreciation to  Chente who was the first one to believe in her dream and when  a dream is based on love it will flower. They kiss. Everyone cheers but Olga.

36. The wonderful moment is cut short because Adrián suddenly arrives smiling and applauding along with the crowd. He is there to congratulate her. He has prepared some words.  Immediately,  Natalia tries to get him to leave. He says he has no plan on staying a long time. He isn't there to bother her. He just could not  ignore a day like this which is so important in her life. He begins to talk to the crowd going  down memory lane talking about how he met Natalia at a gastronomic event at their university and how her goal was to become a great great chef. She had a very special gift for cooking. He realizes he was selfish. He married her and didn't want to share her with the rest of the world. He should have supported her in her career and pushed her on ahead to attain her dream. She has proved she is a brave, tenacious, persevering, strong, intelligent, daring  and even  . . . very good looking. She has given him a great great lesson. The man who really believes in her is now  holding her hand. That man should have been him. He thanks Chente for being at this marvelous woman's side. He made the mistake of leaving her but he knows that Chente cares for her even though he will never be able to love her like he does.  Natalia tries to shut him up again but Adrián will not be stopped.  He wishes everyone a good afternoon, kisses his daughters, makes eye contact with Simba and leaves. Natalia, her family and Chente are left mortified as Olga enjoys their  discomfort. 

37. As soon as he leaves, Adrián is on the phone with Pepe. He says to give Natalia two more hours of happiness before shutting her down. 

38. At the "girlfriend" table, Fernanda pegs Adrián as being selfish. Samia doesn't think it was easy for him to swallow his pride and make an appearance with Natalia being in another man's arms. Pati thinks that Connie is also very brave showing up in place where her ex is with his future  wife. Connie says she is there for her sister. Samia says if she were Natalia she would have forgiven Adrián and they all would be in a luxurious restaurant in one of the best neighborhoods of the city rather then here in this folksy neighborhood place. Fernanda sticks up for Natalia. She thinks that none of them would give up their  world of material goods, luxury and appearances. Pati changes the topic to Mario and Fernanda who isn't talking. Samia thinks that finally somebody trapped Fernanda.

39. Mario is sitting with Chole, Tavo and Vale. He lets it slip that he and Fernanda broke up. That pleasantly surprises Vale who grabs his hand and asks him how he feels and if he is okay. He excuses himself and leaves her frustrated at the table. 

40. JuanGa is cooking when Mario comes in to use  the bathroom.  Kim comes in next to give JuanGa some company and to tell him that his novia Vale is stuck to Mario. She thinks she will cheat on him. Kim continues flirting with Juanga and soon they are kissing.  Mario stands back and watches them. 

41. Andrea comes to sit with Omar, his friend Mau and Mau's cousin Lorenzo. Samia comes and Mau and his cousin leave. She tells Omar and Andrea that even though they may not believe it,  she is very happy they are together. Next, she informs them that their mothers are organizing their wedding so it  ends up being a wonderful day that will live  in their hearts forever. Omar asks if she is accepting that he marry Andrea. Yes, Samia wants to mend all of the damage she caused them trying to  separate them. Andrea doesn't believe her.  She understand that they love each there and they can count on her no matter what her husband says. All she wants is for them to enjoy their life  together and live in harmony with the universe and the baby on the way. She asks if they can start fresh. Omar and Andrea reluctantly agree.

42. Mario comes over asking JuanGa what he is doing with Kim. He will not allow him to play with Vale's feelings. An angry Natalia comes in demanding  to talk to Mario. Seeing her mood, JuanGa tells Mario he is in for it and is out of there at Natalia's request. She wants to know how Mario can be working with Adrián again. She is so disappointed in him. He tries to explain that he has a reason for what he is doing. She warns him to be very careful since he suffered  at his hands once.

43. The food critic arrives and Mario makes sure he gets a table. Mario explains to Chente that he is a famous chef and is there to write a review of the restaurant.

44. In the kitchen,  Natalie is showing Olga and Regina how to serve the guests. 

45. Natalia  comes out and informs her guests that her restaurant serves food that is a fusion between traditional Mexican home cooking and gourmet food. What she is serving them now is her Popcatepetl cream that is a cream made out of huitlacoche (corn fungus) and three cheeses. The food critic takes his first spoonful.  Simba says he isn't a fan and takes the opportunity to leave. Chente tells Mario that  the  critic looks like a badly paid sergeant. They both hope he is enjoying what he is eating. 

46. Back in the kitchen,  Natalia and her daughters are pleased with the the way things are going and enjoy a group hug. She is so happy she has  them there helping her. Juanga will not be denied the celebratory hug and joins them. He proclaims that everything is going to turn out great!
