Caray, Caray!

I am looking forward to everyone’s comments. Currently, I am not a happy camper w/o electricity knowing I am going to have to dump everything in the fridge and freezer not knowing when power will be restored. Wah!!!
 

Jarifa, thank you for crafting this marvelous summary despite the terrible weather including “tornado warnings”. And then losing your power! I’m so sorry that you are going to lose all your food. I can only thank you for soldering through for all of us. You are so dedicated. I am glad you made it through safely and hope everyone else did as well. Fingers crossed your power returns soon!

After this episode, the only thing that came to mind was men behaving badly.

Adi had a gun and although he pointed it at and on Vero at several points, alas. did not pull the trigger. She was frightened initially but swallowed her fear enough to walk up to him and have the nozzle of the gun pointing at her neck, stomach, etc.

“Granny Magos tells Chente to make sure Olga’s baby is his, but it seems he is too easily/stupidly swayed by her doctor/lab report”. That is exactly what happened. The piece of paper seemed to make everything legit but Chente, felled by guilt, can’t see past the result to question the paternity. How frustrating.

Tavo was just loathsome, again berating Chloe for her assertion the child is his. He and Connie deserve each other.

Mario bringing Vale to his apartment and her reaction made their age difference glaringly apparent. She is a young woman who acts her age, as she should. A joyous sprite to his joyless countenance. A mismatch. Just no.

Lorenzo is disgusting. Regi is frustrating me right now. She immediately took Lorenzo’s side - did she not see 2XJosé’s beaten up bruised face?

Chente is drowning in his own tears. He has to straighten up, stiffen his spine and do the math. Enough self pity.

Why do they have Fernanda’s hair plastered tight against her head pulled back? She’s looking very pretty lately. I don't know how she sat through lunch with those vipers at the club.

The only bright lights were Omar, JuanGa and Benja.

This story is getting tiresome as the couples breakup , then makeup, then breakup again the next episode . Nat\Chente Reg\Ppepp Ppepp

How many times did LorenzNO hit pppeppp pppeppp in the head and face before PP socked him more effective!y in the face . I kept saying " Walk away or at least get your hands up and don't let yourself open for another sucker punch from that punk." Reg is acting completely out of character . Didn't she notice that PP's face was bleeding and marked ?
PP is too good for Reg. Lots of nice girls out there who would appreciate you , PP. Time to move on .

I have no words for Olga's continuing obsession with Chente . Why ? I would go for Juanga. He is sweet and kind and a good dancer . He would be much more fun than stumbling , humble Chente. Olga is a horrible , obsessed barnac!e that has attached herself to that family and will not budge . Nat should move on . Neither Adrian and Chente deserve the beautiful , elegant Nat.

I hope Andrea starts to realize what a gem Omer is . I have no idea how he turned out to be such a nice guy with such awful parents .

I am ready to move on to the next story. Next . ( Love to Dr. Carlos)
 

OT...Judy Judy Judy ..sending out love and prayers to you. I miss your wise , wonderful comments so much . They always lifted my spirits .
 

Ay, caray, Jarifa. This is always awful. If you don't open the fridge or freezer much everything will be OK for at least 24 hours. Is your whole zip code affected?

I am astonished that at this late stage Vicente is still not recognizing Vulga's Poor Helpless Me act for what it is. I despise women who pull this crap. She doesn't deserve Juanga either and he certainly doesn't deserve the burden she would be. Magos had better stick around because she seems to be the only voice of reason here.

No way is Benjamin responsible for Vulga's inadequate accident. A child this size could not push hard enough to cause this to happen. Her shoes are likely at fault.

As for Juanga, he had a thing for Soledad so he is whom she should end up with. Kim seems like a nice girl, but she needs to put on a few curves.
 

I see I missed something, Olga's fall.

I didn't even see her and Benja together last night (which I was grateful for) Wow, I don't think I dozed off :(

Thanks, all, for your good wishes. I live in the black hole of electricity delivery as well as the black hole of mail delivery. The same thing happened two or three years ago and they were supposed to have repaired their infrastructure . . . Anyhoo, the episodes were fun.

Diana, thanks for all the details. Adrián and Vero are one twisted pair of grifters. I liked her sniffing out a money angle with Natalia.
I, too, am tired of Chente’s self-pity. I have said it before: there is nothing laudable about being gullible. There is nothing wrong with Vale except falling in love with Mario! Poor kid because it looks like they are a done deal.

Susanlynn, it was weird that nobody noticed 2X José bruised face. I was surprised that Pati was Lorenzo’s mother who is one of the ladies who perpetually lunch at the club.

Urban, there are wide but spotty outages throughout the suburbs. We have over 2,000 in my area alone. One would think Chente would wise up to the Olga act but unfortunately, I have seen plays like hers work in real life with weak men more than once. Magis is the only hope.

When 2X told Chente to basically stop the lecturing because he wasn’t his father, I found it interesting that Chente reminded him that he would soon be considered an adult by the law.

Adrian and Vero are beyond disgusting as they paw each other . Sickies. Maybe they will eventually take each other out. No redemption possible there.

Since they know Olga drugged Chente he shouldn’t feel any responsibility towards her. But I can see him stepping up to be the dad. But Natalia is smart to walk away as this will tie Chente to Olga forever. Olga is one sicko. She now feels part of the family Connected by blood. Hated the way she informed Natalia and the girls.

I was disgusted with JuanGa for being so romantic with her. I think he has to discover Olga mistreating Benja to finally walk away. I missed the fall down the stairs too. I’ll probably see it tonight(tomorrow!). I’ve missed a few things that came at the end and they’re at the beginning of the next episode. Wondering if she did it on purpose but that would end her tie to Chente. I would think Adrian would figure out it’s his baby.

Mario just seems so boring and unhappy to me. I wish he’d loosen up. I think Fernanda will probably still be single but happy at the end. With all the others cheating, being cheated on etc. she’ll be the happiest!

Jarifa, thank you very much! You are a trouper and a treasure. Even in the aftermath of severe weather you took the time and effort to "view" the novela (on a phone! Ouch!) to give us a recap. If this were not Caray I would recommend you for promotion.

What a tearjerker these episodes were! I'm still a bit dehydrated.

Telenovelas do focus on the foibles and self-destructiveness of people. Juanga is still carrying the torch for his Olguita, even knowing as much about her as he does. She did appear to be touched, and shed a tear, but she rejected him and will continue her insane pursuit of Chente.

As if life weren't hard enough people have to make it so much harder.

But I don't see why the writers had to make Tavo so very, very stupid about Chole's pregnancy. I have to see them as endgame because they have been in love for so long and not interested in any others, and because it is Tavo's baby unless it's another immaculate conception.

But how can they ever reconcile after Tavo being such a ridiculously obnoxious idiot? He has thoroughly poisoned the well.
So much so that it is hard to believe. Has he never questioned those fertility tests? Aside from that, how has he turned so vicious with Chole? This is love? Compare and contrast with Juanga re Olga; Olga!

Granny Magos can be a real firebreather, but it takes a toll on her health. (I couldn't help but wonder how Carmen Salinas would have played the scene with Olga.)

Diana, I didn't see Olga and Benja either, but I was not exactly glued to the screen. Susanlynn, I never met Dr Carlos, but yes, "Next!"

Next! This has been a fun ride but I'm ready to spend some evenings with a cute Mexicana, and she comes by to see me at 8 PM ET.

I have to see MFEA through to the end (how could I not?) but I feel just a little like Slim Pickens riding a bomb down in that old movie Dr Stangelove.

Liz, considering all the personalities here, ITA that Fernanda has the chance of being the happiest.

Andy, my blog work was really self-serving as well as in the service of others. It kept me off the phone and from being nasty to the electric company customer service personnel and then feeling bad about it. I think of Carmen Salinas from time to time and I imagine how she would be in particular scenes. That is not taking anything away from María Rojo but Carmen Salinas had her own special vibe.

Interesting you mentioned Carmen Salinas. I have been thinking of her during Dona Magos' scenes as well. Maria Rojo has a lovely smile and is doing a great job. But I miss Carmen...

Andy, it seems that these shows reach a boiling point at which time we don't think we can take it anymore . Then, we take it some more . Then, it somehow ends , and off we go with hope in our hearts that the next show won't be frustrating . Wow. However, these crazy shows are still better for my psyche than the news . I watch and say , " Well, at !east , Vero hasnt sent me a dozen yellow roses and I don't live next door to Olga.

Nodding in agreement with all comments. Yep, Natalia needs to move on. It's the only way for her to be rid of Olga because Chente's not up to the job.

Fernanda is unbelievably patient with the ladies who lunch. But I guess schmoozing with them is good for her business.

JudyB, your saying "it's only a story" helps get me through the awfulness of Olga. Your voice is much missed on the patio.
 

I think that Con is the angriest character I have ever seen in a telenovela. It's amazing that she doesn't burst into flames during one of her angry rants. She is really as tightly wound up as her hair . I don't see any road to happiness for her. She is mad at the world . I kind of feel sorry for her because I see no hope for her . I don't know how the writers can reform her, so where will she end up ?. I think the writers will reunite Tavo and Chole ( yuck) , Chente and Nat ( meh) , and Reg and Pppepp pppeppp (sigh). Omer and Andrea seem okay . I think Teresa will finally divorce lying ,delusional , permanently drunk Clod. She's after off alone.

I don't care who wishwashy Mario ends up with . Both Val and Fernanda can do better .

I noticed Abuela called Olga a "golfa" in their latest sparing match . Olga likes to intimidate the young and the old. I wonder what anvil the writers have forged for her . Death somehow ? I don't see how the illegal things she did , like hiring Simba to kill Nat will be uncovered unless he tells . How many episodes are left ?

Susanlynn, as Jarifa noted, I believe that Pati, one of the lunch ladies is Lorenzo's mother, Omar's (former?) friend. I don't believe we've met any of Lorenzo's family.

I did think Liz was Omar's friend's mother. The one who helped Elias with the scam - I forget his name. I don't think he and Lorenzo are brothers, but cousins?

Diana, Dr Strangelove is one wicked movie, which I really haven't thought too much about in quite some time. I have a friend who was a B-52 pilot, but I never asked him about that movie. Or any of the novels of that time, like "Fail Safe". Maybe I shouldn't ask   :-)
