Caray, Caray!

Sara asks Juan what does he want from her (Isn’t it obvious by now?). Sleepy eyed, aka sexy Juan answer that he wants her, he can no longer live without her, she’s become too important for him. Close up of the lips… He asks her never to leave him, she wants him by her side, too… Then Juan adds he wants her close … during the Congres (WTF). I don’t know if Sara is turned on or letdown by this, but she still smiles – regardless, when Juan approaches to kiss her (or smell her, seeing how these two operate), she says no, this is not just about the two of them, many more people are involved.

Lucas reproaches Jess all her lies, he’s no fool and can see how she’s taking advantage of their friendship. Jess insists it’s just for a little while. Bryan arrives to say he doesn’t agree with the plan, either, and they both confront Jessica, especially when she says they’d have to play pretend for several months. Alondra shows up to tell Bryan that Jess is really going out with Lucas. Rosa arrives, too, stopping all conversation.

Dante explains to Deb his master plan: he was the one who convinced Don Seve to leave everything to charity if one of the kids left the house. All they have to do now is convince each and every one of the Del Montes to give up on their part of the inheritance, since all the charities mentioned in the will are made up – that’s how they’ll end up with all the old man’s fortune. Deb points out that the charities are on Dante’s name, so she asks to be a partner, make sure she’s not left penniless. Dante is willing to do that when Deb proves her worth, by convincing one Del Monte to leave the house.  Deb would like to start with either Mateo or Simon, they’re both insufferable. For now they are in agreement, but no more lies, Deb warns Dante, or else!

The owner of Adela’s rental wants her to leave, even after Prospero insists there is no need to throw her out. Augie actually kneels, begging the owner not to it and Prospi offers to pay all their debt. Salvador intervenes, too, saying Adela is very special to him… and to everyone else, of course. But the owner doesn’t budge. Everyone promises to help Adela get another place.

At the company, Pedro warns Juli about leaving Sara and Juan alone. She tries not to make a big deal of it, but Pedro pushes her. Juli says many women have tried to win Juan over, Pedro says Sara is different. Juli insists she will take care of this on her own, she doesn’t want anyone’s help.

Juan and Sara talk about their many responsibilities… while holding hands. Simon arrives as they are both talking business and Juan asks him to solve the issue of the gender pay gap in the company. Of course Simon says they are very fair, Sara insists she has different information. Simon accuses her of trying to ruin his reputation, everyone is getting the pay they deserve. Then he accuses Sara of being just like her mother and goes into a rant about the many faults of Deb – especially that time when she asked their mother to divorce Severiano so she could marry him instead. And she almost killed her, too, provoking her an embolism. He saw everything, even if he was just a child. Juan says that the parents’ sins can’t be held against their children, which infuriates Simon even more (I’d say he’s on the verge of an embolsm himself). Juan reminds Simon his job is to protect their unity as a family, but Simon doesn’t consider Sara family, especially not after what Deb has done to their mother. Then he storms out!

Now at the ranch, Alondra is questioning how come Jess and Lucas have become novios all of a sudden. Rosa says there is no mystery, their friendship just turned into love. Then she gets a pain in her neck, but Alondra wants to leave. Lucas tells her their project has to be postponed for now.

Sara tells Juan she feels very bad for everything that Deb has done to his family, but she can’t change the past. Juan understands Simon, but he also understands Sara. She says she’s done accepting all the insults like a punishment – she no longer wants to be their family, she finally gets they will never love her.

Modesto comes to see if Cornelio is OK. Salvador accuses him of siding with the Del Monte again and Cornelio adds that Pedro wanted to kill him. Modesto protests, which upsets his son even more, it’s obvious he’s more worried for the Del Monte, who see him like a servant. He is his son but he has been a sorry excuse of a father. Modesto punches Cornelio, but them immediately apologizes, while Salvador asks Paloma to take Tadeo away. Modesto says he’s done his best, just like Salvador, to raise him and Paloma. Salvador confirms all his struggle, and they both remind Cornelio that Don Severiano offered to pay for his studies, too, but he preferred to party instead, get drunk and wait for his father and uncle to come and rescue him.  Cornelio wants his father to leave the ranch, but Modesto promised to protect the brothers. He adds that he’s loyal to the Del Monte, but he loves him. Modesto leaves crying and Cornelio is crying, too.

Lucas thinks they should go to the hospital because Rosa is still hurting, but Jess suggests they can go see Don Augusto, who is very good at these things. But Rosa won’t hear of it, so they eventually go see a doctor.

Pedro and Dante talk about their failed attempt against Cornelio. Pedro is upset, but Dante thinks they shouldn’t talk this in the office and he warns Pedro to stay away from Cornelio, avoid any possible suspicions. What else, Dante asks and Pedro says he wants to get Juan out of the company. Dante smiles.

Reunion time: Sara has made a list of providers who can offer them less expensive fertilizer for the same quality, saving them about 30%. She’s worked together with Julieta’s team, who agrees that Sara’s solution is correct, but has to warn them that the avocados might reject the new product all the same. Juan asks what the odds of that happening are and Juli says they are indeed very low, but they exist. Pedro, continuing to kiss Sara’s shinny behind, claps to her suggestion and gives a positive vote. Juan asks Sara if she has made a risk analysis and of course she has and the benefice far surpasses the risk – besides, she is taking responsibility for the outcome. Oyyye! Juan agrees to the change.

Mateo is still in his bed when Deb arrives to offer him a drink. He tries to throw her out, but he can’t resists the bottle of wine she holds, even if he tries to. She had to take one out of her reserve, because she couldn’t find one drop of alcohol in the entire house. She herself has tried to commit suicide in the past, and she promised herself to help the people who suffer like she did. He has to live the way he wants, not allow others to tell him what to do. Then she goes away, leaving him the bottle.

Modesto is roaming the streets, crying. He’s not feeling too great, but Bertha(!) is there to check up on him. She advises him to use a cane if he has trouble walking (lol), Modesto is vexed, doesn’t agree when she calls him old.

Pedro offers to take Sara to Bea’s place, while Juli asks a very unwilling Juan to go have dinner together. Juli tells Sara they can sign the contract with the new providers the next day, she has all the info in her office.

Lucas and the girls have brought Rosa home and she might have a bad neck, but her voice is as strong as ever, as she calls for Bertha. Augusto arrives to talk to Rosa about the shop, he’s in no mood to help her. Rosa wants to throw him out, and Augie will leave, but first he mentions Jess and Bryan being together. Rosa corrects him, Augie warns her not to mess with his family again. And he absolutely refuses to help with the neck pain.

Augie leaves just as Bertha arrives and starts massaging Rosa’s neck, who immediately gets better. Bertha promises to correct all the crippled bones existing in this family. lol

Pedro tells Dante he has a plan to make Juan fail – the investors have to lose confidence in him, make him have to quit. Dante asks Pedro what’s in it for him? Pedro says he will give him Refugio Santa Catalina in exchange… Dante is interested, but how could he give him that, when Don Seve forbade it. Yeah, but he’s dead, Pedro says, so think about it! Dante needs more than an empty promise, so Pedro says first Dante needs to win his trust again, after today’s bad luck.

Juan takes out his childhood box, remembering another moment from the past, this time only his mother’s nasty voice. Sara arrives and Juan drops a photo, which she picks up. It’s of Pedro and him, with their real mother. Sara says their past decisions brought them to where they are today and she hopes to get the chance to know about the road he had to take to get where he is now.

Salvador has come to talk to Modesto about his son. He’s worried he will do something stupid, and reminds Modesto he never agreed with him working in this house. And now his son is suffering because of this family, too. For once he needs to put his real family first.

Later Juan arrives and sees that Modesto is wiping. He tells him about his confrontation with Cornelio and his reproaches. Juan says he is like a second father to them, but Modesto thinks he has to leave the house. Juan says they’d be ruined without him, but Modesto says he’s only a servant, he likes what he does, but he can’t do it anymore. Juan asks Modesto some time, let him talk to Pedro first. Modesto agrees, but he doesn’t have much faith in Juan’s chances. Then Juan tells Modesto that Sara saw a photo of his bio mom. Modesto thinks he should throw that photo away, but Juan can’t, it’s part of his past and his childhood. Modesto says thank God you ended up in a good family.

Pedro has escorted Sara to Bea’s house and she tries to get rid of him, but he says he’s always going to be available for her. Sara asks what his plans with Tadeo, his son, are. And what does he feel for Bea. Pedro says Bea came to him telling him about her Cornelio problems. He did give her the love she was lacking at home, but he couldn’t help that she fell in love with him. He’s no womanizer, he hasn’t found the love of his life, yet, but what he feels for Tadeo is real. He loved him from the first moment he found out he was his son. And he always wonders if he’s doing right by his son, the best thing that has ever happened to him. Pedro seems to actually mean what he’s saying, so much so that he makes Sara cry.

Juan is knocking on Mateo’s door, he and Lucas find him almost passed out on the floor. Juan remembers another moment when he found his brother passed out like this. Back to present time, Juan asks who gave him the bottle. Mateo rambles, but at one point he accuses Juan of having stolen Julieta’s love from him.
