I know I'm very late, but thank you Darcy, for the great recap! This was such a confusing episode and I'm glad I read it instead of watching it! Lol!

Casilda annoys me sometimes, but she's still an interesting character. The whole picture thing was such an ??? moment.

I don't get why everyone is so obsessed with how pretty they are! Girls, smarts are more important than looks. Just saying.

Michele is so stupid. I kind of feel bad for the actress, first she played Fernanda in La Doña 2, who was even more stupid and now Michele.

Part 1 of 5

Rafael pretended to be impressed with Lucia's intention to start a talavera. She showed him photos of her work and he pretended to be impressed. She wanted to talk about the practical matters such as rent.
He said he might give her the first month free because he appreciates young artisans and comments about how art is life.

Diego initially suggested to Fernando that they sell the business, but Fernando did not want to shaft their clients. Diego then suggested they borrow money, which Fernando was reluctant to do. Diego said he would make some calls.

Lucia returned to Alejandra's lair and went on about the location of her new talavera and how perfect it was for her business. When she mentioned Rafael's name Alejandra paused, then said she knew him and he was a friend. Casilda came in wanting to talk about taking photos and Alejandra got up from the piano and told Pilar she wanted to see her in the office. Lucia wondered what was wrong and Casilda said – quickly – that Alejandra was very jealous. She then left the room.

“You have gone mad,” Alejandra said to Pilar. “You were supposed to distract her, not put stupid ideas in her head.” The crux of Alejandra's annoyance at Pilar's action was that it could or would make Lucia independent and get her out of her control. Pilar talked about how Lucia's personality needed this, but Alejandra was not satisfied. In fact, she delivered a vague threat that if Lucia is successful both she, Pilar , and anyone else involved will know what she is capable of when something she wants is taken from her. She even accused Pilar of envying her her success. Pilar answered that she knew because of things in the past. She had spent all this time doing her bidding “so you could have what you want.” She then left the office.

Lucia spoke to Tonia about getting some of the guys from the old nabe. She had just finished telling her she had an address when Pilar came back telling her that all was well and they were talking about something else. She also told her she could count on her for help. They hugged and Pilar left. She continued talking to Tonia and it was clear that Alejandra had her completely snowed.

Paulina found Fernando signing documents. She apologized for screwing up and told him she agreed with Diego about getting an investor but Fernando was still unsure about it. She changed the subject to Lucia, asking him whether he was interested in her and what it took for a woman to get his interest. He smiled, more to himself than for her benefit. Paulina then asked about Roxana, whom he described as a friend but not a girlfriend. This would last until one falls in love and now Lucia is in the picture. Paulina looked at this with a little suspicion, telling Fernando that he was very special.

Lucia brought Alejandra her tea and there was no conflict. Alejandra told her that what Pilar did was wrong and if she needed any help she was to come to her instead. Before this went any further the “lawyer” came in with excess attention to complimenting Lucia's beauty. Lucia was not comfortable with this so she got up to leave. He took her seat and when Lucia was out of the room Alejandra told him “With Lucia? No.” in a tone of voice that brooked no challenge. He said “Very well” and handed her a large brown envelope. It contained photos of Alfredo and Michelle. “Damned wretch” she said as she looked through them.

Part 2 of 5

Fernando walked into his flat while talking to his bank on the phone to get an extended line of credit. He saw Roxana's purse on a table and ended the call. When he got to the bedroom she was wrapped in a towel and her hair was wet. The concierge had let her in when she said she was his novia. He said he had to talk to that person about this. He told her he didn't like surprises or for her to know that much about his life. She teased that she was not a murderer and seemed to ignore the message and continued to try to seduce him by taking off the towel, draping it over his shoulders, and trying to pull him into a kiss. He resisted, saying he had problems to deal with and could not accommodate her.

He stepped away and she looked as though she realized she was at the end of the road. Her phone rang and it was Rafael, her husband. She told him she was at her mother's. He wanted her to come home but she said she needed to stay for a while. He mother was napping. He seemed to know something of his suegra's routine, saying if she was asleep Roxana could leave. She said “No; she could wake up any minute and I want to be here. See you later.” He ended the call just as Pilar entered.

They talked about that afternoon. She told him about Alejandra's reaction – which was no surprise – and he confirmed that Lucia knew nothing about “The Club.” As far as she knew he was into the art world. “El zorro pierde el pelo pero nunca las mañas,” was her reply. He asked whether she was jealous of Lucia and her answer was no. She was concerned about Alejandra. Their physical proximity and facial expressions said that they possibly could be An Item on the down-low.

Roxana got dressed and brought something from the kitchen. Fernando told her it was too early for dinner. He handed her an envelope containing money that was partial payback for a loan and went into “We have to talk” mode. She knew where this was going and didn't like it. She demanded to know whether he had knocked up Lucia or was in love with her. He admitted to the latter. She ranted for a minute repeating Lucia's name several times then said “We have a problem because I'm in love with you.” before walking out.

Paulina looked upset and told Diego that he was right; Fernando was never going to be interested in her. He demanded to know whether Fernando insinuated anything and she told him that she was a friend and confidante; nothing else. He was satisfied, saying that Fernando doesn't need another girlfriend. When he reached to touch her arm she pulled back. He suggested they go out to eat and she told him she wasn't hungry. He left.

Heriberto called Alfredo to tell him he had the money. Alfredo said he would give him the details he needed to transfer it. Heriberto asked if he was afraid to meet with him and Alfredo said “No, but it's a lot of money. That's what the internet is for.” Heriberto said he would do it only to hear “Pleasure doing business with you.” He ended the call just as Gertrudis appeared in the adjoining room, demanding to know whom he was talking to. He said “Nobody you need to bother about,” but she wasn't buying this. It's obvious who really wears the financial pants in that household.

Part 3 of 5

Casilda told Lucia she didn't want her to leave the house because Alejandra was different since her arrival. Lucia wanted to know more but Casilda didn't say much and did not tell her about any abuse. Before this went any further Lucia was alerted to a voicemail from Alfredo. Casilda asked whether it was her novio and Lucia said she was not sure if he was her novio or not, adding that it was complicated.

She listened and he was saying things like he would accept her answer whatever it was but wanted to talk, if only for the last time. A minute later she left a message she would talk to him. He grinned victoriously as he pocked his phone and a sales clerk came in with a tray of engagement rings. He told her he didn't care about the price; he wanted the best. [Is this what he's doing with the blackmail money? The music tells us that the plot is thickening.]

At about the same time Isaura served drinks in the drawing room of the brothel, wearing a neckline that Sabine Moussier would accuse her of stealing from her closet. She sat down on the couch between two clients. Pilar and Rafael watched; Pilar was annoyed because Isaura was not recruited to do this.

Diego was on another couch. He was approached by Claudia who entered (awkwardly, possibly because of the shoes) in a red number that looked like it was barely a dress. He admitted it was his first time there; someone had given him a VIP pass. He asked if there was a quieter place they could go to.

Fernando was cooking with his mother when she asked him what was up. He told her he had some business problems but that he was also in love. She was thrilled to hear the latter and asked him about the lucky lady. He explained that her name was Lucia but she already had a novio. Michelle came in and grinned at the prospect of her brother having a novia. A few sentences later the doorbell rang and Michelle entered with Alfredo. Fernando did not react. Alfredo did not either. When Fernando went back into the kitchen with Marta he definitely looked suspicious. He did not see Alfredo look at him out of the corner of his eye because he had his back to him.

Claudia and Diego went to an upstairs room. He was nervous. She said he looked stressed and she wanted to help. He moved in to kiss her and she said “Without kisses.” He told her to take off her clothes. She locked eyes with him as she began stripping. If he was nervous she was more so and trying very hard not to let it show.

Fernando and Marta were on the couch when Michelle and Alfredo were in the kitchen. Alfredo did something with his phone and put it on the table. Michelle started to lead him to making out but he carefully resisted while trying to keep an eye on Fernando. Finally Marta got up, followed by Fernando, who folded his apron on the way. Michelle tried to get Alfredo to take her out to a restaurant but Fernando said “Why not stay here for some time together?” Alfredo asked why his girlfriend wasn't there and he said Lucia was not his girlfriend; she was in another relationship. A few questions later Michelle commented that if Lucia was from San Jacinto she doesn't have a good rep; she said she hoped it wasn't the same woman. The two men stared at each other in semi-hostile mode. The verbal chess game they were playing ended as a draw.

Part 4 of 5

Alejandra saw Lucia brushing her hair and asked her if she was going out. Lucia told her she had things to discuss with Alfredo. “I don't want to interfere –” began Alejandra, but when Lucia encouraged her to continue she said “ – if you want to talk about this when you come back, please.” Lucia said she would then asked her how long she knew Rafael. She answered that they had met years ago. Lucia had been favorably impressed by him and that he had offered a month's free rent. Alejandra told her that men never give things away like that. The better thing was to have a clear, written contract. Lucia agreed and got up to leave. The way Alejandra looked at herself in the mirror indicated that she knew her own prime beauty days were in the past.

Claudia and Diego got dressed, their backs to each other. After a moment's hesitation she asked if he had been pleased. When he didn't answer she asked him to not say anything if he hadn't because she needed the work. “Why didn't you tell me that this was your first time?” he asked. She said she had been with other clients but did not think that anything more would happen. She only thought she had to listen. (?) He took out a wad of bills, threw it on the bed, and left without another word. [Pendejo.] She tried to hold back tears.

Michelle and Alfredo left the house. He talked about having a lot of business to attend to. She asked why that was always more important than she was. He told her to be patient and everything she wants with him will double. She teased back that she expected triple and wished him luck. She said that if all goes well she will send him a video he will like. He liked that already, this was obvious. He started for his car, touched his pants pocket and said he must have left his cell phone inside. As he started for the door she said she would get it. When her back was turned it was obvious that he had something to hide.

Fernando told his mother that Lucia was a good woman and what is being said about her is lies. She told him to get her out of his mind. “Besides which she has a novio.” Michelle came in asking whether they had seen Alfredo's cell phone. Fernando said “No,” and Michelle turned around and went into the kitchen. It was on the table and a confirmation came up about his restaurant reservation. She froze for a second. Marta asked if anything was wrong and she said all was good. She took her car keys and said she was going with Alfredo.

Gertrudis asked Heriberto what was up with Alfredo. She demanded to know what was going on with Rafael and the project and the large sum of money. Heriberto was possibly drunk, but certainly quick to react in anger. He threw his glass down, shattering it. Then he got up and told her he had had it with her reproaches and complaints, calling her an old witch. She said she was going to talk to Rafael and started to leave the room. He followed her, pushed her against the wall, and grabbed her by the throat. He told her to keep her mouth shut or he would reveal all of her and her brother's dirty secrets about appropriated money and what uses it was put to. He released her and yelled that she and Juventino aren't as smart as they think they are, then he told her to get out. She left the study immediately. [That's what you get for slumming, Gertrudis.]

Michelle handed Alfredo his phone through his car window, wishing him luck again. He thanked her with a knowing grin and his phone rang. He looked at it and saw Heriberto was calling. He answered and Heriberto told him that the money was now in his account. Alfredo thanked him and ended the call. He told Michelle he would call her and not to forget that he loves her before driving off. She watched his car until it was out of sight then got into her own to follow him.

Diego met with Roxana in a rooftop bar. He wasn't comfortable with meeting her behind Fernando's back. Roxana said that he shouldn't because they only mean well for him. [We'll see about that.] She said he was too proud when it came to help for his business. She said she knew what to do.

Fernando was looking for Diego and could not find him. He had called Paulina. We do not hear her but she must have been panicking. He told her to call him if she needed anything. When he ended the call Marta heard her name and said she likes her for him. He told her that Pau was just a friend, nothing more. [Marta is too intent on becoming an abuela.]

The maître'd told a waiter to show Lucia to a table. Halfway there Fernando called asking how she was and how things were going. She explained she had to do something and what will happen will happen. Michelle walked in and saw her. She walked right past her and sat down at Alfredo's table. He was caught off guard and asked her what she was doing there. She poured half the wine from his glass into the empty one, saying she wanted to know all about this meeting that was so important to him. She grinned as she put his glass back into position and said “Salud!” While she was sipping the wine he said she was crazy. “You know I like this place,” she said, “and I wanted to come here with you.” He said “No” and got up.

Lucia ended the call with Fernando and continued to the table. Alfredo ordered Michelle to leave. He was gritting his teeth. Michelle told him to sit down. Lucia arrived before he could. Michelle raised her glass “Salud!” and said “It looks like everyone is here who should be.” Lucia asked “Who is she?” and before Alfredo could find his voice Michelle said “I am Alfredo's novia. Whom he touches and makes love to every night. Whom he loves. And you are...?” Lucia said nothing, only staring at Alfredo. “Tell her!” Michelle said to him. “Tell her that we're in love and we're getting married real soon.” She trapped him in a kiss he obviously didn't want, then looked at Lucia, who looked like she wanted out of this situation.

First, I didn't realize that guy in the brothel was Diego ! He looked different to me for some reason.

Roxana is going to be a dangerous enemy for Lucua to have and now there are two connections between them ...good Fernando and bad Rafael.

Isa looks like a natural for the brothel . She loves men and flirting and has plenty of self confidence . What job did Ale actually give her ? Washing dishes ? Bartending ?

Heri is always wearing that biege jacket . What's up with that ? He is a scary guy . Gertrude looks familiar . Where have I seen her before ? She surely plays a nasty shrew here , and she and Heri make an unattractive couple . meh

Michelle likes PDA with creepy Alf. ugh She can have him.

We have some fierce women here...and not a good fierce ...a scary, arrogant, egotistical , dangerous fierce...Ale, Isa, Gert, Roxana, Michelle . are the writers men, women, or a combo ?

So...is Ale's end game to get Lucia to work to at the brothel ...and Not washing dishes or bartending ?

How will good Lucia and Fernando survive the many evil people surrounding them ? Uff

A few years ago I wrote a weekend article on Misogyny and Sexism in telenovelas and there were improvements since then. We've seen female leads and supports in professional fields like medicine, law, and business. MFEA has a competent female cop and the lead is a former SAHM who is on her way to becoming a successful business owner. But the beat goes on. It's time for an update on that one and this series will be prominent in the discussion.

Alfredo should be fried now in Lucia's eyes. Her dad tried to get her to end that and I hope she sees he was right.

If Claudia was a virgin, it looks like Alejandra didn't know. Diego shouldn't have been able to tell, but that's beside the point]. She would certainly know that there are schweinehunde out there who would pay big money for that. Or did Pilar sabotage that?

At any rate, we know that if Lucia is a virgin (it's implied but we have no proof) Alejandra expects to cash in big on it.

I too wondered if that was Diego at the brothel, something did look different about him but then I am still trying to get all these actors straight.

Was Claudia a virgin? I knew it was her first time sleeping with a client but I didn't consider that it was her first time in general. What a horrible first time that would be! Diego is one creepy guy something is very very wrong with that dude and I like the actor so far.

I think Michelle is going to go full on unhinged in a way that will make Roxanna seem tame but that's just a guess. She seems to be already losing it and it's only episode 8.

The actress playing Isa looks like she is having the time of her life! Lol
 

Mexicana. Yesterday we learned that both Tyler and Adriana have very sad back stories, including that Adriana's mother committed suicide. It's important to watch out for Katya, as she may have inherited those tendencies. Btw, we also learn that Adriana has always been very smart and did extremely well in school. Glad to see that Diego and Sebastian have reconciled, but Adriana really should have passed on the information that Diego is gay to Katya.
 

Embajador S3 #42 part 1

The baby celebration continues at the beach house. Melek receives a new dress that she says she will wear when her sibling is born. Sancar tells her they will buy a new pair of shoes to go with the dress after they go to the doctor. Melek opens another gift. What is it? Mavi says it’s a diary. What will I write in it, Melek asks? I don’t know, Mavi replies, write what you want. Could be about what happens before your sibling is born. Or about something you can’t tell us.

But I can tell you everything, Mavi, Melek says. Really, Sancar asks, and me? Melek turns to him and says, dad, I don’t want to hurt you, but you can’t understand what we girls feel. Mavi seems impressed with Melek’s statement and gives Sancar a look. Sancar is like, wth. Don’t get jealous, Melek tells him. [Turkish] Okay, okay, if you share it with one, that’s enough, Sancar replies.

I’ll tell everything to my sibling, Melek says, and when the time is right, I’ll give this to him as a gift. Maybe he will become a father one day. Sancar’s surprised. What? A father? You think this is a boy, he asks Melek? Yes, she says, don’t you want a boy? [Turkish] It’s not important, as long as it’s healthy, he replies, besides, I already have a beautiful daughter. If it’s to be another girl, I’ll have three angels at home. What else do I need? [but we can tell a boy would really make him happy.]

I think it’s a boy, too, Mavi opines. Really, Sancar asks? Yes, I feel it, she replies. Sancar’s liking this. A boy? Well then, you’re going to have a serious problem with him. He won’t share me with his sister or his mother. I’m going to sit in a corner and watch from afar and let time pass. Mavi laughs. [Turkish] Don’t laugh, I know, Sancar tells her, Little Sancar won’t do it! Don’t laugh.

If it’s a boy, Mavi asks, will he have to carry “Efe” in his name? For example, Mehmet Efe? Sancar repeats, Mehmet Efe? You do this to make me fall in love with you even more, right? She smiles. If it’s a girl, you pick, Sancar says. I would like it to be Ekim, but when I call her, I know it would hurt you. Did Ekim have a favorite name? Mavi can’t answer. Sancar reaches out to take Mavi’s hand.

As Mavi and Sancar share a look, we hear what Melek is writing in her new diary: kardeşim, today I learned you are coming to our family. Me, Dad and Mavi (aka, my mom) are happy. I will write what happens in this diary so you can read it. When you grow up, I will give you the diary. The scene cuts to Halise at the herbalist.

Melek continues to write: I wonder how you are going to be. I hope you love me very much. I’ll tell you a big secret, but don’t tell anyone else. It will be between us. I hope you are a boy. Then we won’t fight. You won’t take my toys, but I promise, if you are a boy or a girl, I will love you very much. Your sister, Melek.

The herbalist fills a bag for Halise. She looks very nervous. He warns her to be careful with the herbs. Don’t let anyone else but you take them. Don’t worry, she replies, I told you they are for me. He cautions, these are dangerous for pregnant women. She understands all too well.

Back to the happy beach house. Mavi smiles as she watches Melek and Sancar play patty cake. Then she heads into the house and picks up Sancar’s phone. She calls Halise, who is in the car with Necdet. Hello, Sancar, Halise answers, what happened? I must be dreaming. Did you miss your mother? Halise Hanım, it’s Mavi. Halise is alarmed, what happened? Are Sancar and Melek alright? They’re fine, don’t worry, Mavi replies, I called to invite you to dinner tonight. [no, Mavi, no]

 

Embajador S3 #42 part 2

Halise is relieved. What’s the reason, she asks? I want to have a family dinner, all together. Halise is suspicious. [Turkish] Why, she asks, because it was you with your ambitions, who took my son and my granddaughter? Why do you want me now? Halise Hanım, you are the mother of the person I love most on this earth. We have to learn to get along. Alright, there are always discussions and fights in families. It’s normal. But ties don’t have to be broken. You understand better than I.

But you can’t stand me, Mavi, Halise says. [Turkish] You talk to me so arrogantly, you try to get the upper hand. I never wanted you to feel this way, Mavi replies, I’m sorry if I made you feel this way. And I always thought you didn’t want me, and you hated me. No, you’re wrong, Halise answers, why wouldn’t I like you? I never hated you, you’re wrong.

Look, we don’t know each other, Mavi says, it would be good for us to know each other better. This isn’t for a telephone conversation. It has to be done in person. I’ll put aside my pride, Halise says, and I’ll be there in a few hours. Mavi’s smiling. See you. Cut to Halise in the car. She has the bag with the herbs. This is excellent, she says.

The beach house table is set for dinner. Melek has done a good job of helping. Sancar arrives home and sees the table. Ah, how nice. Seems like we are going to have guests. Yes, Melek replies, grandma is coming. Sancar is shocked. My mother is coming, he asks Mavi, why so sudden? Mavi sends Melek off and allows her to watch some TV.

Sancar asks, is my mother coming to see Melek? Why did she call you and not me? Mavi spills, she didn’t call, I called. Why did you do it, Sancar asks? Because Halise is our baby’s grandmother. Sancar is in shock. Mavi says, okay, we had a horrible start. Bad things happen sometimes, right? I want to give her a second chance. I don’t want to have conflicts with your mother. She raised a man like you. We showed each other our worst sides. Maybe it’s time to show our best part.

Sancar kisses Mavi on the forehead. I will repay you, he says. You could help with the salad, she asks, it’s not done yet. Not what Sancar expected but he goes to help. He calls for the lettuce. I’ll prepare a vinaigrette. The table is beautiful, he says. Your MIL will love it.

Meanwhile, Sedat looks at pictures of Ekim on his phone. He’s distraught. He calls Halise as she’s on her way to dinner. She’s not happy to hear from him but she takes the call. I wanted to know if you began to act yet, he asks. We don’t have a lot of time. Halise says not to pressure her. I’m going to see them, I’ll start there. Let me guess, he says, you missed your granddaughter and decided to visit. What a great pretext. None of your business, Halise responds, don’t call me again. I’ll call you. She hangs up.

Guven visits Sedat. You left so suddenly, I wanted to see how you are. Are you feeling better? You worried in vain, Sedat answers, I’m calm. I’m concentrating on my objective. Guven asks Sedat to give Halise a little more time. What if we wait for news from her? Meanwhile we can find other business in which to have fun. You could go out with Dudu and get to know her. What do you say? She is a smart and very beautiful woman. She would make a great partner. Sedat looks like he might be interested but not in a good way. [Watch out, Dudu]

Slight cut. Sancar admires the table Mavi has prepared. It looks great. Lots of food. Ellerine sağlık, Sancar tells Mavi. Mavi says, I want her to see how much we appreciate her. Sancar replies, I’ve been trying since childhood, but I never succeeded. Maybe you can do it.

 

Embajador S3 #42 part 3

Halise arrives at the beach house and Melek immediately runs to greet her. Halise notes that the entrance to the house was confusing. Sancar says he would have brought her here. I didn’t want to bother you, she replies. Halise turns her attention to Melek again. She brought some gifts. They are things Melek can use on the beach. Mavi thanks her.

Sancar looks a little suspicious of his mother’s good intentions. Halise also has a gift for Mavi. It’s a nazar to keep the evil eye away. Mavi graciously accepts. Our family is prominent, and anyone can give us the evil eye, Halise explains, so much so it causes arguments and enmity. Hang that at the entrance, it will protect you. There’s another gift. Cumin, Halise says, do you know it? Mavi knows it’s to bring good luck. [Turkish] My mother believed this, she says, we always burned cumin and bay leaf in the house.

Yes, Halise replies, you also follow traditions and customs? Yes, Mavi answers, I grew up in Istanbul. It’s not that far from here. I wouldn’t know, Halise says, we never had the opportunity to talk before, but we can talk about you and your family. Mavi asks Halise to take a seat while she finishes the prep. Melek goes into the house to put her gifts away.

Halise takes the opportunity to speak with Sancar, who has been silent this whole time. Son, aren’t you going to welcome me? My heart is broken. [Turkish] The house doesn’t have your scent, your voice. I’m not used to it. Sheepish Sancar gives her a welcome and adds, this is your home, too. There is always a place for you. He goes to kiss her hand and Halise stops him. She hugs him instead. Oh, my dear son, my child, my child. Sancar looks like he needed that.

Elvan is admiring a pic of little Gediz. I would do anything to protect you, she sniffles. I only ask for strength. I’m so confused with this. I don’t know what to do. I don’t know how to face this big problem. She gets a call from Yahya. He asks if she’s feeling better. Yes, she replies, what’s up? You looked so confused, he says, I was worried about you. I had a headache, Elvan answers, but I’m fine now. I’ll go to sleep.

Yahya says he’s going to the lawyer in the morning. We should be there at 9. Do you want me to pick you up? No thanks, Elvan replies. Why are you upset, he asks, you’re not going to come? I have a strong headache, she explains, I’ll talk to you later. Good night, okay? She hangs up.

Elvan’s phone rings again. She picks it up without looking at it and gets angry. Yahya, what do you want now, she asks, don’t you understand? I told you I’d think about it! I want to be alone! The voice on the other end says, it’s me, Bora. Yahya… no….What are you thinking about? What happened? Nothing happened, Elvan replies, it’s just that I… I have a problem to attend to with Yahya. I thought he was calling to keep insisting. That’s all Bora.

What problem, Bora asks, is he forcing you to do something? Tell me. If he is, let me know. He can’t force me, they can’t force me to do anything, Elvan responds. I’m capable of deciding for my own good. Okay, calm down, Bora says. I called to tell you some things. Elvan, look, I… I only want… Elvan interrupts, you don’t have to explain anything, okay? I have a bad headache. Can I talk to you later? She starts to cry. He agrees and tells her to call him if she needs someone to listen. She hangs up and sobs.

 

Embajador S3 #42 part 4

Dinner at the beach house. Halise compliments Mavi on the meal. She’s very impressed. These are all local dishes and Mavi prepared them very well. Milk thistle, radish, turnip. The sarma is perfect, Halise says, Gulsiye’s aren’t perfect, they’re sometimes dry. Yours are great. Mavi says she goes to a local market so she can buy fresh ingredients. Sancar notes that Mavi is being modest. [Turkish] She cooks Mexican and it turns out great. If you ask her for zerde (a kind of rice pudding), she will make it. She’s so skillful.

Mashallah, Halise responds, not everyone has that talent. Well done. Sancar looks pleased and proud. Melek asks, Mavi, is it time? Is it time yet? Not yet, Mavi replies, first finish dinner. Halise is curious, what happened, she asks Melek, why so much excitement? I’m going to have a sibling, Melek replies, you will be a grandmother again and I will be a sister.

What great news, Halise declares, then there has to be a celebration. Congratulations, hayırlı olsun! Mavi thanks her. Halise says, Sancar we have to give out sweets tomorrow. We have to let everyone know. Mavi thinks they should wait 3 months to tell. She’s afraid to tell too soon. Sancar shoots her a concerned look, like where is this headed. Of course, Halise replies, you’re getting old. Sancar raises his eyebrows at his mother. May Allah protect you, Halise says. You’re right, Mavi replies, I’m not as young as before. [and you didn’t have a rotten MIL either] I have to be careful.

Halise apologizes for being tactless. I must protect you during your pregnancy. Mavi thanks her. Sancar adds, may Allah be pleased with you. But Sancar doesn’t look too pleased with his mom. Halise brings up the earlier phone convo she had with Mavi. We still don’t know each other. Why don’t you come back to the mansion, she asks Sancar and Mavi? Mavi won’t get exhausted doing the chores. Gulsiye and I will help her at the mansion. Sancar’s eyes widen. Halise adds, we could live together and get to know each other better. Plus, Melek must have missed seeing Gece, no? Melek nods.

Sancar answers, if my brother and sister return, we will. I’m not sure the newlyweds will return, Halise says. All of you have already formed your families. And after meeting you, I notice you have experience, Mavi. You are a good woman. But I am an Efeoglu woman and I know that my anger is sharp. But the love I have in my heart is real. I’m upset with my children, sure. But I would never turn my back on them.

Sancar watches his mother carefully as she speaks. Halise continues, if they are sorry and they come kiss my hand, I will reconsider it. Mavi says, it’s nice to see you so calm, Halise Hanım. It would be better if you called me mother (anne). Mavi replies, I will, Halise Anne. You’re going to come back to the mansion, Halise asks? I’ll talk with Sancar about that, Mavi answers. Sancar says, we’re going to discuss it. We have to think about it. We’ll see.

Melek pipes up, let’s go to the mansion. [Turkish] I missed Gece and Gulsiye. And my chickens are all alone. Halise laughs. Sancar smiles at Melek. We’ll talk, he says, we have to decide. Let’s eat. Sancar casts a wary eye on his mother [as he should.]

Oh no, Dudu is having dinner with Sedat. She’s sharing some of her story with him. He smiles at her. She realizes she’s been talking too much and apologizes. Don’t apologize, he says, you have me captivated. I spoke all night, she says, I think it’s your turn now. Why did you come here? What brought you here? I thought I came for work, he replies, but now I’m changing my mind. He leans in and smiles at Dudu. She gives a shy smile in return. And there’s Sedat’s evil look. He’s clearly got plans for her.

 

Embajador S3 #42 part 5

Beach house dinner is done. Mavi and Sancar cuddle on the couch. I was amazed at what I saw, Sancar says, you and my mother were talking and eating without fighting. She misses you, Mavi replies. I didn’t think she would come. Your mother took an enormous step. We should take another. Sancar smiles, you’re talking about returning? Not forever, but maybe temporarily, Mavi offers. Maybe that way Zehra and Kavruk can return. Sancar thinks it’s a great idea. There would be a reason for mom to accept Kavruk, he says. It would be a good transition.

Sancar gets up and pulls Mavi up with him. Why don’t we forget about this matter? And think about Sancar and Mavi tonight. He pulls her in close. Do you want to dance, she asks? Dance? I was thinking of going to bed, he tells her, and we know what he wants. Don’t you want to go to sleep, he asks?

She backs away. So, you want to dance, he asks? She shrugs and smiles. Okay, I can’t refuse. Sancar puts on slow dance music. He warns her he doesn’t dance very well. He only dances the zeybek and he raises his arms. But he’s willing to give an effort. Don’t laugh, he says. I will teach you, she tells him, although truthfully, I’m not that good a dancer either. [Turkish] Let’s surrender to the rhythm of the music. They start moving. He asks how he’s doing. Are you laughing? Nope.

Next morning, Sancar shows up at the mansion and Halise is delighted. She asks Gulsiye to bring a plate for Sancar but he says he already ate. He just wants tea. He tells his mother he’s going to be frank with her. Tell me what you want, he says. What are you looking for now? What do you think I could want, more than your health and happiness, she asks in reply? Sancar stares at her and she gets indignant. Why are you questioning me like this?

I’m sorry, mother, Sancar says, but I think you’re planning something. First you talk bad about Mavi and you don’t want her in the mansion. [Turkish] You told me she was pregnant, and she was hiding it from me. She wasn’t worthy of our family. You said a lot of unpleasant things to her. And then, you wanted to know her better and said, come to the mansion. What was it that happened? Mom, you asked us to move in with you. Why did things change?

Because she decided to have the baby. If she had an abortion, I would have said, “I’m right, Sancar. I told you, I warned you.” But now I’ve changed notions. Mavi is an excellent girl for you. Sancar still looks wary. Halise continues, I don’t want to prejudge. Let us get to know each other better. Let’s start over if she decides to come to live in the mansion. What more could I want, son? I want to help you. You have to believe me.

Sancar’s not quite there yet. Let’s say we move in with you. It hasn’t been decided yet, but let’s suppose. Will Kavruk and Zehra return? Will you show them tolerance, too? Halise explains, Zehra is my daughter, a piece of my soul. She is more than welcome and she knows it. She rebelled and married, but she knows can always come back if she wants. But Kavruk… I feel like he betrayed me.

Sancar is ticked. That man loves her. He came to ask me for my sister’s hand. They committed themselves to each other. What betrayal are you talking about? I don’t understand. It’s hard for you to believe, I understand, Halise replies. But I can’t accept it. Maybe I seem very harsh, but Zehra is my dear and only daughter. It’s complicated. Forget the subject and stop pressuring me! Okay, Sancar replies, but you must manage it.

He gets up from the table. Are you going to leave me, she asks, you won’t finish your tea? No, I’m going, he tells her, I’ve got things at the field. Sancar, listen, Halise pleads, you have to return, this is your home. Don’t be rebellious. He just stares at her.

 

Embajador S3 #42 part 6

Yahya is at the lawyer. A social worker is there with baby Gediz, too. Yahya whispers to himself, come on Elvan, come on. Don’t be stubborn and adopt this baby. The lawyer whispers to Yahya, are you sure Elvan is going to come? She hasn’t read my message yet, maybe she’s on the way, Yahya replies. I know Elvan very well and she will be here. Perhaps she’s changed during this time, he says to himself.

The lawyer tries to make an excuse to the social worker for Elvan’s delay. I can’t wait more than 30 minutes, the woman replies, we have to leave before it’s time for him to sleep. Yahya asks what will happen if Elvan doesn’t come. Let’s suppose. Could the baby be adopted by another family?

If you are asking for yourself, she answers, it won’t work that way. Sorry. After he is placed at the orphanage, the process of finding a family will begin. There are lots of couples who want to have a child. I don’t know if you will be lucky enough to adopt him. Yahya sends a text to Elvan. Where are you? Are you coming? Hurry. The woman is only here for a half hour.

Dudu is outside the marina when Sedat arrives. She goes over to greet him. He’s very rude. He just looks at her, says nothing, and rushes inside. She looks confused and hurt.

Gulsiye is washing dishes and Sancar enters. He’s got a question. Do you know what my mother is planning? She hasn’t told me any of her plans, Gulsiye replies, did something happen? She came to my house last night and apologized to Mavi. Although it was subtle, she asked us to come back to the mansion. If I didn’t know my mother, I would say she was regretful. But she’s Halise Efe and she never apologizes.

You know her well, Gulsiye replies. That’s why I’m asking you, Sancar says. I haven’t seen anything strange, she answers, but this place is deserted. Elvan left, Yahya doesn’t come, Zehra is on her honeymoon and Refika Teyze left without even saying goodbye and went to Istanbul. Mother is feeling lonely. Ah, Sancar hadn’t really considered all that. You think that’s the reason, he asks? Gulsiye tells him that Halise had dinner with her and Necdet. We see Halise lurking at the door listening in.

Sancar can’t believe it. Halise Efe? At the same table as Necdet? Yes, Gulsiye tells him, she said they could keep each other company, that way they wouldn’t feel alone. I think Halise Anne realized she’s lonely. She even discovered if it goes on like this, she will soon be left without anyone.

Sancar feels bad. Ay, my mother, he says, [Turkish] you prick everyone with your thorns and then you get upset when you are left all alone. I’ll talk to Mavi. Maybe try it for a few days. What a good idea, Gulsiye says, we missed Melek very much. Without her, the mansion is cold and silent. Sancar takes off through the side door and Halise enters the kitchen.

Well done, Gulsiye, Halise says. Gulsiye doesn’t understand. Halise explains, Sancar was moved with your performance. Gulsiye understands now. You are planning something new, she tells Halise, I can’t believe that this is part of your plan. I saw how sad you were after your children left. Your face… Halise interrupts, Gulsiye! Know your place! Do you think you can advise me? It’s already late and the meal is not ready. Hurry up. Okay, okay, annem, Gulsiye replies. Smug Halise leaves the kitchen.

 

Embajador S3 #42 part 7

Time’s up, no Elvan, and the social worker is ready to leave. The lawyer opens the door for her and there’s Elvan! I’m here. She smiles at the baby. See, what did I say, Yahya tells them, she is someone who is responsible. She’s here. The lawyer welcomes her in. Elvan can’t take her eyes off Gediz. Everyone sits. And the lawyer starts the paperwork.

Yahya says the baby is adorable. Look at his eyes. He grew a lot, Elvan notes. I knew you would come, Yahya tells her, and that you weren’t going to abandon him. I know you are someone gentle, with a big, beautiful heart. I never doubted you. Look at this boy. He’s wonderful. You did the right thing, Elvan.

You didn’t tell anyone else, Elvan asks? No, but we are going to tell them, Yahya replies. Don’t even think about it, Elvan says. Yahya asks why. Because I haven’t decided yet if I’m going to stay here. Yahya is disappointed to hear this.

They lawyer asks Elvan to sign the papers. Bismillah. Elvan signs. The lawyer says, he’s yours. Elvan goes to welcome Gediz. She picks him up and talks to him. Hoşgeldin… merhaba… what a sweet boy. Welcome to my life. She gets emotional and holds him close. Happy tears.

And we are out. I love when we get a happy ending to an episode!

I am so relieved to hear that Lucía found out about Alfredo. Michele is dumb, but at least she did SOMETHING right. As Susanlynn wrote, she can have him.

Lol, Urban, you know so many languages! I noticed that you wrote a few words in French and in German. So you know English, Spanish, French and German. Phew!

Since it was Claudia's first time, what exactly did she do with the other clients? She mentioned listening? That's a bit confusing...

E-mails are an all-time classic, but I thought that instant messaging could work better.
I thought that I could start a Discord server about Caray. The servers are the main part, but you can add people as friends to talk privately as well. And since I don't really have social media, I thought Discord would be a nice alternative. You know, for the extra stuff that we want to write.
Are you guys interested? If so, tell me, I'll create a server and send you the link.

Thanks, Dondi, this had more good than bad but the bad is unthinkable. Would Halise really destroy her grandchild to get rid of Mavi. I think she would-it’s her way or the highway. Hoping Gulsiye catches on. She knows herbs too.

I was hoping Elvan would take her nephew, but also want her to end up with Bora. And Yaya really wants her back with the baby.

So Halise will never accept Karruk. I guess Zehra will never return home then.

I’m ready for everyone to realize how controlling Halise is.

Dear Dondi, I keep saying the same thing , your recaps are amazing . Even though I love watching the show, even if I couldn't watch the show , I would still love reading your recaps. You capture every moment , look, and feeling . I am so appreciative of the time, talent, and effort that you devote to providing these recaps. Thank you .

Wow, so much happened in this episode . Mavi shows just how wise and wonderful she is by calling Halise and inviting her to dinner. Then, Mavi is careful to not let Halise draw her into an argument .( " You're old." Ouch. Wow...no editor In Halises brain for those hurtful comments . ) Once again, I feel so grateful for my gentle, sweet MIL . We were linked forever in our love for her son, and I respected abd loved her for raising a very good man.She was a wonderful grandmother , too. How did San become such a great guy with Halise as a mother ? Perhaps his own father was a good guy and his main influence.

So..the herb is cumin . I had no idea that herb could be dangerous for pregnant women. Will Halise really let Mavi consume it after Mavi has handed her an olive branch , prepared a special dinner, and been so respectful and accommodating ?? Can Halise hurt her own grandchild ? I hope not.

Okay, Elvan will adopt the baby , but will she raise Gediz as a single mother or with either Ya or Bora. I have no idea.

Du seemed to be setting her sights in a new target (wacky Sedat) , but she was confused as he rushed past her without even noticing her . Hey, Du,Sedat is in his own little world of obsession and revenge , so welcome to the crazy you have just been hired into .

No one is scheduled to recap Fridays so I'll just list a couple high/low lights.

A repeat of Michele's overblown scene when she catches Alfie with Lucia and Alfie runs off after Lucia saying he loves HER and begging HER for forgiveness. Michele has a nervous breakdown and Lucia runs to help her. She takes her to the hospital - Alfie takes off and leaves her - and calls her mom. After Michele calms down a little, Lucia predictably gets blamed for the whole thing and called a home wrecker for her troubles. Michele later begs ALFREDO for forgiveness, begs him not to leave her and apologizes for her own jealousy!!!! She also defends this louse to her family....yuck yuck yuck

Silvia (I think that's her name) lifts a wallet off a drunk client and despite Leonardo's best efforts to catch the thief she doesn't get caught! Except by Casilda who saw her do it.....Casilda turned down the money Silvia tried to buy her silence with because she's no thief! She does however have a plan for how Silvia can repay her silence.....and it involves seducing Leo???

Casilda also has a Just Fans account? I am guessing from the name on the screen that's what it's supposed to be but I don't know anything about just fans so I could be wrong. That's where she's uploading her pics and vids and she's at it again. One fan asks her to be his fantasy but just when she's about to get started Ale comes, orders her to remove the clown makeup and orders her to the club! She fortunately didn't see the naughty nightie her goddaughter was wearing.

Isa enjoys her gig as hostess of the brothel a lot! I mean this chick is having the time of her life. Playing card games, flirting with clients, getting free drinks....Pilar is not amused but I was.

Claudia is approached by some thug on the street who tries to force her into his car to do a 'job' when Diego drives up conveniently. Claudia pretends he is her novio and kisses him, and Diego does get in the guy's face and scare him off but afterwards he says nothing to Claudia - not one single word - as she tries to thank him!!! He doesn't even ask if she's okay, he just drives off and leaves her out on the street.....CREEP!!!

Lucia is DONE DONE DONE with Alfredo!!! And Fernando goes to help her visit or possibly get stuff from her old house. They break in but they were spotted by Pedro and it looks like they will be arrested. But the first kiss does happen in the house while Pedro is gathering men outside - it was kind of anti-climate for the first kiss between the protags if you ask me, but it happened.

Oh and Roxanna is a former prostitute too! That's how/where she met Rafael! She used to work for Ale and now she hates her because she still treats her like a prostitute - but based on hubby's response of 'first take your clothes off' when she asked him if he was going to make the investment she wanted him to make (in Fernando's company) I would say Ale isn't the only one who still treats her like a prostitute.

There you have all the DRAMA!!! And it is DRAMA! I am a little worried about some of these people already.....Looking at you Michele....they are already more than a little BSC and the writers haven't even put them through hell yet!!! How are they going to make it to 'El Fin??'

Casilda is the most interesting character to me so far....this chick is crazy too but in a more interesting less scary way.
 

Embajador S3 #43 part 1

Mavi is giving Melek tips on drawing, while Sancar watches them, unnoticed, from the front doorway. They are working on a drawing of the beach house. Mavi says we’ll draw you, me and dad on the roof. Melek wants to draw the new baby in her arms. Mavi turns and sees Sancar. How long have you been standing there? Let’s say a while, he replies and enters the house. Melek shows her father the pic. She still needs to color it and she goes to her room to finish it.

What did you do today, he asks? Not much, she says, I thought to go to town and talk with Bora about the café. But before that, I took Melek to school. The café will be yours, Sancar asks? No, it won’t be, she replies. I was considering it… but I want to spend my pregnancy at home with you and my daughter. Last time, I worked very hard. I want to enjoy it this time.

He tells her, I will always support you in the decisions you make. But you can tell Sancar is especially pleased with this decision. She thanks him. He says he understands her. I didn’t see Melek when she was a baby. The situation prevented it. [putting it mildly] [Turkish] I don’t know what it’s like to see your flesh and blood grow, what it’s like to be a father of a baby. I don’t want to lose one minute with my family. Is that why you came home early, she asks? I had work at the mansion, he replies, then I went to the grove and returned.

So you saw your mother, Mavi says. Sancar nods, I went to see her and she was happy. She wants to know you better. [Turkish] She said she changed her mind about you and she was happy you decided to have the baby. Mavi asks what she said about Zehra and Kavruk. There’s no progress on that subject yet, Sancar says, but it’s not like the day of the wedding. I still don’t understand how my mother came to this state of mind.

She felt bad, Mavi says, she must have been regretful. She’s older, it’s complicated for her to fight with her children. And you were always by her side, she wants you near. Gulsiye said the same thing, Sancar says. She told me that Halise Efe had dinner with Necdet at the same table. Oooooh, that’s really incredible, Mavi replies. We should move to the mansion, that will help her. Sancar is surprised. Mavi adds, if not, I think we will regret it.

That’s true, Sancar replies, but I don’t trust my mother. I’m not going to feel comfortable. I don’t know the reason but it’s uncomfortable. Horrible things happened, even though you wanted to protect me, Mavi says, but I think that I can improve my relationship with your mother. I’ll try for you and the children, my love. The look on Sancar’s face, lol. Can he believe what he hears? Mavi asks, should we move in with her, what do you say? Sancar has a smile for his wife.

Sedat is badgering Halise again. I’m not interested in your excuses. Are they moving to the mansion or not? Halise replies, I’m not your assistant or employee. Be careful how you speak to me. I will resolve the problem, don’t worry. We’ll see if you are as strong as you say, Sedat answers. [Turkish] They call you an Efe woman, let’s see if the power of this woman is enough. Don’t you ever dare make fun of an Efeoglu woman, Halise responds. I warned you not to call me. I’ll call you when I have news. She hangs up.

Cut: Guven asks Sedat to have a little more patience with Halise. He also asks how dinner was with Dudu. Sedat says, you told me she was smart, but she’s naïve. She doesn’t even understand who I am. She is so simple, she doesn’t even have what it takes to learn. Sedat walks away.

 

Embajador S3 #43 part 2

Sancar and family arrive at the mansion. Gulsiye and Necdet rush to greet them outside. Necdet takes the luggage and Gulsiye calls to Halise, they’re here! Halise rushes over to welcome all three. This calls for an immediate celebration! Sancar wants her to tone it down. We’re here, mom, don’t exaggerate. He takes Melek inside.

Halise tells Mavi, if you hadn’t convinced him, he wouldn’t have returned. He had no intention. Thank you. Don’t mention it, Mavi replies. Halise wants lokma and wants a lamb sacrificed. We will celebrate today! Everyone goes inside, Halise stays back for a moment, so we get a good look at her wheels turning.

Elvan is enjoying baby Gediz. She’s whispering to him as he falls asleep on the couch with her. Yahya enters. I’m here Elvan. He’s brought something from the pharmacy for the baby. She shushes him not to wake the baby. The little one had gas and as soon as he released it, he fell asleep, Elvan says. Mashallah, smiling Yahya says, I expect you will be good company for each other. Look at how comfortable and calm he rests by your side.

Elvan’s phone rings, it’s Bora. Elvan turns the phone over, but Yahya saw who called. I want to thank you for being with me today and helping me, she says, but it’s late now, don’t you have to go? Uh, if you need anything, what will you do, he asks? We have everything, Elvan replies. Yahya goes through a whole list: And if he gets sick? If his stomach hurts? Gas? A fever? Or something else? Nothing will happen, Elvan assures, you already bought the medicine. Don’t worry.

Yahya says he can’t leave them alone. She doesn’t even know the neighbors here. What if you need something in a hurry? I’ll sleep in the car. You can call me if you need anything. Let me help you. Elvan relents and tells him he can sleep on the sofa tonight. But just one night!

Dinner at the mansion. Halise tells Melek she can eat whatever she wants. Gulsiye made it all for you. Halise notes that Mavi isn’t eating much. She’s pregnant and need to eat better. Sancar jumps into action. He starts filling Mavi’s plate. It’s too much, she laughs. He piles it on. Halise frowns at the but then quickly smiles as not to be caught.

Halise asks Sancar if he spoke with Yahya. Did he tell you what happened to Elvan? No, I didn’t, he replies, I didn’t ask. We decided not to interfere in other’s lives. If they want to tell us, okay. As you say, Halise replies, you’re the head of the family and the mansion. You will decide although I’m still not used to it. But I’m going to do it for everyone’s sake, she says. Uneasy looks from Sancar and Mavi. Sancar says, maybe Elvan and Yahya will return. Impossible, Halise says, I don’t think so after everything that happened. A child unites a couple but they don’t have children. Sancar and Mavi look at each other again.

Melek says, Zehra and Kavruk are married. Do you think they will have a baby, too? What kind of question is this, Halise replies. She quickly gets back with the act [Turkish] What did your father say? We will not interfere with the lives of others. Sancar’s watching her carefully. Halise continues, your new mom will teach your dad and your father will teach me what he learned. And I will teach you, she tells Melek. Mavi gives Sancar a “just let it go” look. He sighs. I don’t think his food is going down easy.

Elvan is in the kitchen preparing a baby bottle while talking to Bora on the phone. Yahya is asleep on the couch. What don’t you understand, she tells him. I became an aunt and a mother at the same time. And is that the reason you have been avoiding me, he asks? This is a complicated subject. You can’t make a decision like this so fast, he says. I don’t understand.

 

Embajador S3 #43 part 3

This is life and the fate that I had to live, Elvan says, even if you try to avoid it, you will never be able to do it. So then, you are going to accept your fate, Bora asks, is that it? I heal people, you call me a healer, she replies, but that doesn’t mean accept what comes. I only follow what I feel in my heart, that’s all. I promise that’s it.

Bora says he understands. This is my last night here, he tells her, I have to leave the city tomorrow. Elvan looks sad. Yahya wakes up, but he doesn’t move. He listens. Elvan answers Bora, I know, you can’t stay. I have to go, he says. You’re not coming with me, he asks? Baristan Bey, I have other responsibilities. Starting today, I can’t make any decisions so easily. Yahya is smiling. I’ve got to feed the baby now. See you. She hangs up. Bora asks himself, see you later, but when will we be able to see each other again?

Cut: Yahya pops up from the couch. Were you awake, Elvan asks? No, I just woke up and wanted water, Yahya fibs. He gives Elvan a sweet look and tells her motherhood suits her. This makes her uncomfortable. She says I have to feed the baby before it gets cold.

Halise is searching the kitchen cabinets for an empty jar to put the evil herb in. Gulsiye walks in. Do you need something? Herbal tea, Halise says. We already have some, Gulsiye says. Oh, is this for Mavi, she asks? Yes, Halise replies, it’s for Mavi, it will help her [she left out: to lose the baby] Gulisye thinks this is a very nice thing Halise is doing. Your heart is filled with love for your grandchild before it is born, she sweetly says.

Gulsiye picks up the bag that contained the herbs and sniffs it. She thinks it smells strange. She keeps sniffing. In the Turkish, Gulsiye says it smells like some sort of drug or a poison. In the Spanish, she says sage and senna. She is alarmed and quickly grabs the jar from Halise. She wants to know what Halise is planning. Halise grabs the jar back. It’s none of your business.

Gulsiye is horrified. This is a recipe from Feride Efe, Gulsiye says taking the jar back. After drinking this you have a miscarriage. Give this to me! You didn’t invite her to give her this to drink? Have you lost your soul? Don’t you have remorse for what you are doing? Halise takes the jar back and says to stop talking nonsense. You’re confused, this is different (the tea in the jar vs. the one in the bag) This tea is beneficial. Halise puts the jar in the cabinet. Gulsiye is very upset. She sniffs the bag again and sneezes. The teas are the same! What should she do?

Cut: Yahya wheels the stroller as he accompanies Elvan to her store. He carries the stroller up the stairs and into the store. He tells Elvan he has nothing to do today, he can stay with her in case she needs anything. We’re fine, she says, besides we are in the center of town. Okay, then, I entrust you to Allah, he says, call me if you need anything. She thanks him and he leaves.

Elvan enters the store and Bora lurks. She shows Gediz around the store. It’s cozy. I’m not going to spend a single penny that isn’t for you, she tells the baby. You won’t lack anything. Bora shows up at the door. Congratulations, he says and asks, I don’t know, should I be congratulating you? I know it’s hard to understand, she replies, but thanks.

I saw you enter, and I came to say goodbye, Bora tells her He asks, hakkını helal et, Elvan Hanım? [because he will likely never see her again.] She gives her blessing. We are trying to get used to one another she says about baby Gediz. Bora smiles as he watches Elvan interact with the baby. She places Gediz in his stroller and Bora takes a peek and laughs.

 

Embajador S3 #43 part 4

Bora reaches in and grabs the baby’s hand. Elvan tells Bora that the baby inherited the great charisma of his mother. Now I will be in charge of caring for this radiant smile. Awww… the baby smiles and make a happy sound. Bora is taken with Gediz. Look, the little one has my hand, he says. See how he laughs? I think he’s talking to us. Is Bora Abi funny, he asks Gediz, eh? Bora laughs and says the baby is adorable.

It suddenly hits Bora. Let’s go, the three of us, he proposes. What? Excuse me? He explains, you’re not coming because you have a little boy to care for and you think Bora does not want children and responsibilities. Elvan admits this is what she thought.

It’s not like that, he tells her, it’s like we spoke on the phone… this is fate at work. Maybe this is my fate, too. It could be. Come with me, Elvan. I’ll buy a bigger van. We’ll travel around Turkey. Many families live like that. What do you say? She replies, yesterday you told me that you must think before taking a big step, but you made this decision in a minute. I’m only following my heart, he answers. Of course, it’s up to you to decide. I’d like you to come with me. I’m leaving tonight.

Bora takes another look at Gediz and smiles. Look, Gediz Bey, do you want to travel around the country? Wouldn’t that be nice? He agrees, Bora tells Elvan, he wants to go. Do you see? That’s what he’s saying. Let’s go. Bora tells Elvan, I’ll wait. He leaves. She laments, why do I always have to make decisions so quickly? It seems at times that fate hates me. Then she smiles at the baby, but we won’t complain, right?

Gulsiye calls Dudu in a panic. She needs advice. Gulsiye explains the situation. Mavi’s baby, the invite to the mansion, the tainted tea. She refers to Halise as the devil and wonders if Halise did this to cause Dudu’s miscarriage. Dudu doesn’t think Halise is capable of such things and she says she’s busy and has to hang up. What do I do, Gulsiye asks herself? [Why don’t you call Elvan for info on the herbs? Then tell Sancar]

Dudu heads off and we see Sedat was watching her from a distance. He sends a text to Halise: It’s taking too long. I’m sending you something that will solve our problems more quickly. Then we see Halise pacing out in the yard, hoping no one is watching. She gets a delivery of a small package.

Sancar arrives at the marina. He sees Dudu outside. He congratulates her on her new job. This is a bit awkward for her. She explains Guven made the offer and she couldn’t pass it up. You know I used to work here, Sancar Abi. I have experience.

Sancar says, don’t be embarrassed in front of me. I like you working here, but don’t make mistakes because you feel you’re on your own. Don’t let them use you. [Turkish] You know that whatever happens, you and Gulsiye are members of the family. If Guven forces you to do something, come to me without hesitation, okay? She nods and thanks him and says, but everything is fine right now.

Sancar says to consider it in case they force her to do anything in the future. He warns her to stay away from Sedat. Guven hired him as a consultant but that man is insane. Dudu is surprised. Sedat? He didn’t give me that impression, she replies, why did you say that? He’s a psycho, Sancar tells her, he came here following Mavi. That’s why Guven keeps him as an ally.

Dudu doesn’t understand what Mavi has to do with this. Sancar realizes she doesn’t know and says, Mavi is his ex-wife. Dudu pieces it together. [Turkish] That’s why Sedat gave you to the police and Mavi was in the hospital? Sancar smirks, you still don’t know about this bastard. Dudu is flabbergasted.

 

Embajador S3 #43 part 5

Halise sits in the living room with two cups of tea and the small bottle of poison that Sedat sent. She struggles with her conscience but self preservation wins out and she pours some of the noxious potion into Mavi’s cup. Allah, forgive me, I have no choice. Forgive me. She tucks the bottle in the couch cushion.

Mavi enters and sits in a chair. The tea is offered and Mavi accepts. Halise tells her it’s a recipe from Feride Efe. She said it was good for pregnancies. Mavi puts the cup to her lips, then puts it down saying it’s too hot to drink right now. Mavi takes some water instead. Halise drinks her tea.

Dudu starts to tell Sancar about what she heard from Gulsiye about Halise, but they are interrupted by Sedat’s appearance. Oh, Sancar Efe, he calls out as he approaches. Sancar tells Dudu to go. Sedat asks Sancar, you know Dudu and I are colleagues, right? Are you trying to get her away from me? Sancar orders Dudu to go. She leaves.

Sancar warns Sedat, don’t involve Dudu in anything of ours. Leave her alone. Why would I bother, Dudu, Sedat replies and changes the subject. BTW, congratulations on your new baby. Sancar’s ticked. Who told you, he asks, how do you know?! I know every breath Mavi takes, Sedat replies, every movement. Maybe you know what happened, Sancar says, but you still don’t realize the hatred I have for you, you bastard!

Let’s forget that, Sedat says, when are you going to hand over the marina shares? Don’t worry, Sancar replies, I will recover the marina and the hotels, too. I will send you back to Istanbul, penniless and with no pants. Do it, Sedat says, take the marina, the hotels. Take whatever you want, I don’t care, but remember this, I’m not leaving this place without Mavi. I told you this before, but you’re stubborn and refuse to understand. Let’s come to an agreement, Sancar proposes, if I see you near my family or near Mavi again, may Allah be my witness, I swear that I will kill you. Sedat nods and smiles and then glares back at Sancar.

Mavi picks up her tea cup. She tells Halise, I don’t suffer from cravings or morning sickness. She puts the cup back down. I don’t think I’m going to suffer with them. [but Halise looks like she’s beginning to suffer] The doctor told me that when a woman really wants a child, she doesn’t suffer many symptoms. It’s a little psychological. She asks Halise, how were your pregnancies?

Halise is a little surprised by the question. She answers, when I became pregnant with Sancar, I was about 15-16 years old. Sancar and I grew up together. That’s why you love him so much, Mavi notes, that’s why you can’t share him. Sancar was always your companion.

Halise agrees it was like that, it’s true. But Allah knows I treated all my children the same. Then she admits, but what you say makes sense. Sancar is special for me. [Turkish] As a child, he was very restless, very much so. He constantly frightened me. I spent my days running after him. I still run after him. Mavi laughs. Now I live here, Mavi says, I can help you. That way, Sancar will be happy.

What will you do, Halise asks? Mavi picks up her cup again. She puts it to her lips, then stops to say, Sancar loves you very much, Halise Anne. Okay, we had our fights and arguments in the past. Look, I never had a family like this, Mavi shares. My mother was miserable, I hardly saw her. I never knew my father. My grandmother was the only family I had. She was very special. She was a strong woman like you. She knew how to love. She never hesitated to show her feelings. [Is this getting through to Halise?]

 

Embajador S3 #43 part 6

Mavi lifts the cup to her lips once again, then stops to talk. What I’m going to tell you could seem strange to you, but I can see in your eyes… that you have great compassion. Perhaps one day, our relationship will be like mother and daughter. And in the future, I would like to have a big family like yours. Would you like that, Mavi asks? Halise looks guilty.

Mavi puts the cup to her lips yet again and is about to take a sip when Halise leaps from her seat, grabs the cup and throws it. Don’t drink it! Spit it out! Spit! What happened, a shocked Mavi says. A fly was in it, Halise fibs and tries to catch her breath. You almost swallowed a fly, you didn’t see it. Mavi thinks and asks, are you sure it was a fly? It wasn’t medicine that would cause me to have a miscarriage? Halise is stunned.

We get a flashback. Mavi is out on the balcony and sees Halise receive the delivery.
Halise looks sick. She puts her hands over her mouth and starts to cry. She begs Mavi to forgive her. [Turkish] I have done something evil. I listened to the devil. It would have been better if my arms broke and I didn’t do it. Please forgive me, I beg you, she sobs. I won’t lie, at first I wanted to poison you, but then I changed my mind. If you look into my eyes you can see that I regret it. Forgive me, Mavi. She cries.

Mavi has a sorrowful but slightly sympathetic look. She comes to sit next to Halise on the couch and says, I am aware of all your fears. I only wanted you to face them. I was sure you wouldn’t do it. You said it last night, your anger is strong, but you cannot do this to your children. You don’t have to let this dominate you. Mavi takes Halise’s hand and places it on her belly. What I carry in my belly is also part of your son. Halise nods and cries. She begs Mavi to forgive her. She hugs her DIL and repeatedly asks for forgiveness.

Sancar walks in on this. Mother? What happened? You made up? Mavi answers, that’s it. Halise is shocked. Mavi says, right, Halise Anne? Halise is overjoyed. How nice it is to hear you call me mother. She reaches out to touch Mavi’s face. You can’t believe how happy this makes me.

Halise jumps up and faces Sancar. Oğlum, you are my wings, I beg you to forgive me. She kisses his hand. Sancar is stunned. Halise carries on. Forgive me for all I’ve done. I upset Zehra and Kavruk suffered my anger. I fought with everyone. Mavi smiles at Sancar. Sancar smiles, does this mean that you will finally get along? Sancar hugs his mom.

Sancar wants his mother to promise one last time that she is going to change. In the Turkish, she swears a thousand times. I will never hurt you (all) again. Your family is my family. Whatever you face I will face. If you need anything, I will help you resolve it. Your mother is here to help you.

And we are out.

Thank you Dondi for another fantastic retelling of an interesting episode! Or episodes as I believe I forgot to comment yesterday. It was a complicated day.

So Halise repents!! Really? Like Really Really?? I wonder....she is so relieved Mavi covered for her but Gulysie and Dudu could still throw wrenches in this. What she should really do is tell the truth, the whole truth and beg for Sancar's mercy. He's blind enough when it comes to his mommy to forgive her especially if Mavi encourages it.

It would be funny to see her truly accept Kavruk! I don't think she necessarily deserves redemption but it would be funny to watch.

I approve of this plan: 'Don’t worry, Sancar replies, I will recover the marina and the hotels, too. I will send you back to Istanbul, penniless and with no pants.' I'd like to see Sedat come to that end. And Guven get something much worse....scum.

So now Elvan has a baby and both Bora and Yaya wanting to be the baby daddy...whatever will she do?? LOL I don't actually think either is good enough for her. I like Bora when he first came on the scene but he's been too wishy washy since. And Yaya is an idiot, but I don't know, maybe IF Elvan did forgive him he'd be so grateful that he'd understand for the rest of his live just how lucky he got to be forgiven that he'd treat her like gold for the rest of their lives. I still don't really like that scenario though because she deserves a house full of children (not a van full - but a house) and the love of a man who isn't an idiot. Either way though I am glad to see Yaya desperately chasing Elvan. He truly realizes what he's lost which is good. I think Sancar told him way back when that one day he would realize what an idiot he was for losing Elvan....he doesn't deserve to get her back though.

Some clarification. Susanlynn, the cumin that Halise brought to the beach house was for good luck. It wasn’t the poison herbs.

Darcy, ITA Sancar’s name suggestion sounded odd. Partially because of awkward translation. But listening to the original, this is how I interpreted it. He would have liked the name Ekim being that was Mavi’s choice for a daughter. But knew that wasn’t possible. If he called his daughter by that name it would upset Mavi--he said it would “squeeze her heart” each time she heard it. So instead, he told her to choose a name that was Ekim’s favorite.

Yahya or Bora? Each has their good and bad points. Stalker Yahya is very annoying, though.

I laughed at the thought of a crazed, pantless Sedat running out of town.

Holy Redeemer! I hate automatic redemptions in these shows! Halise is one of those characters that doesn’t deserve it. She needs to suffer a little before it can happen. Maybe a bolt of lightning from above? Anyway, we still have more eps so let’s see if she’s outed or if she’s really changed.

The writers were relentlessly teasing us every time Mavi picked up that mug and brought it to her lips only to set it down again . The flashback revealed that just as The writers were playing with us, she was playing with Halise because she figured out that there was something in that tea to cause a miscarriage. Well, Halise did a speedy quick turnaround. These,writers certainly like to surprise us,

The writers are also teasing us with which guy Elvan will choose . Would they go with neither ?

They have said Ale owns many buildings and apartments and they always talk about going 'to the club'. I think the brothel is in a different location, but I still think Lucia is incredibly naive for not noticing all kinds of other dead giveaways to the business her aunt is in. She doesn't have the slightest suspicion.
 

Mexicana. Katya's treatment of Diego shows that she's as much as or more than a grifter than her mother. I hope that wasn't a real doctor or pharmacist helping her with her scam.

I wonder now if Roxana is so intent on keeping Fernando because he is the first man who hasn't treated her like a prostitute. This is speculation, not a spoiler.

I can't deal with how delusional Michelle is about Alfredo. Fernando will eventually butt heads with him over Lucia, but I am certain that Rafael will cause some other problem for her before that happens. Since thus is still in production i won't try to predict the length of the story. Considering who is producing this one we can expect a lot more ugliness to come.

The newlyweds have a meal. Kavruk picks up on Zehra’s distracted look. Your mood changed, he says, tell me what happened. Are you thinking about your mother? Zehra sighs, yes, that’s it. Maybe her anger won’t last long, do you think she will change?

Kavruk is sure. She will change, you must be calm. But for now, let’s enjoy our honeymoon. I couldn’t look for a house because of the wedding preparations, he says. In the meantime, we can stay in a pension for a few weeks, and I’ll find a place for us. Is that okay? Zehra reaches across the table and puts her hands on Kavruk’s face, my beautiful husband, don’t worry. As long as we are together I don’t care where we live or if the house is small. I just want to be by your side.

Zehra gets a call from Mavi. It’s not Mavi. It’s Halise, under the watchful eyes of Sancar and Mavi. How long will your vacation last, she asks, when you come back, where will you stay? Ah…we were thinking of staying in a pension until we find a house. No way, Halise says, we will maintain peace and harmony. Come back to the mansion after your vacation. I’ll be waiting for you. Let us know when you will return. End call. Happiness in the mansion. Melek enters the room and Sancar lifts her into his lap. Mavi takes Halise’s hand.

Zehra laughs. Kavruk asks, what did Halise Efe say? She wants us to come back to her house. Praise the Lord, Kavruk says, I knew she would have to forgive you. He kisses her hands and adds, I didn’t think she would do it so soon. There must be someone responsible for this. Zehra agrees, I also thought that perhaps Mavi is responsible for this. Mother never accepts her mistakes, much less gives in so soon. Apparently, Mavi had succeeded in reuniting the whole family. I hope we can return to the old days. Inshallah.

Can you imagine if Yahya and Elvan return, Kavruk asks? Yes, how nice, Zehra exclaims. If only we could all be together again, it would be better than before. No one would make the same mistakes. You’re right, he replies. Let’s eat.

Elvan talks to Gediz while she packs up his bag before closing the store. Yahya arrives and says he’s come to take them home. Elvan politely declines, she doesn’t want to be a bother. Yahya replies, don’t even think about it, this boy is also my… he stops himself. Elvan shoots him a look. Yahya changes the subject. Did you hear the good news? They told me that Kavruk and Zehra will return to the mansion. My mother accepted their relationship. Çok şükür, Elvan exclaims, maybe your mother has remorse.

Yahya has more good news. Mavi and Sancar will have a baby in a few months. Elvan is so excited, she even puts her hands on Yahya, and joyfully chatters on. Allah grant that they hold a healthy child in their arms! Inshallah! Amen, Yahya answers, everyone is very happy. It seems that finally the bad times are over. The mansion will be full of joy again. I hope everything will be as it was before, Yahya says with a big smile for Elvan. She quietly replies with no smile, inshallah, and turns away to finish gathering her stuff.

Yahya makes his case. You need to come back, he tells her and asks, why are you looking at me like this? You can continue with the store. You can come when you want [how nice of him]. But come back to the mansion. You can’t do everything alone. You have a boy, too. You don’t have to deal with everything alone. If you decide to return home, Gulsiye, my mother, Zehra, will gladly help you. Come back so the babies can grow up happily together.

Elvan’s feeling the pressure, she’s not smiling. The baby makes a noise, and she turns her attention to him. He’s tired, Elvan says. Yahya suggests they take a walk by the coast, it will help the baby rest. Elvan agrees, but she looks a bit uneasy about it.

 

Embajador S3 #44 part 2

Sedat is looking at an online post from Zehra with a smiling pic of the newlyweds: we are enjoying our honeymoon. Hmmm… what is he thinking? His thoughts are interrupted by a call from Halise, who’s secluded in her room. I wanted to call you before you called me, she says, this won’t be happening. He pressures her again to get the job done or she will receive her punishment. I don’t think you understand me, Halise replies, this won’t happen. Not today! Not ever!

Sedat is pissed. You seem to forget what it will do to your son when he listens to the recording. I won’t do it, Halise says defiantly, I will face my son’s anger. I am resigned to receive the punishment that he decides instead of sending my grandchild into the cold, dark void. Sedat warns, don’t provoke me, I’ll make you suffer! Do what you want, Halise replies, show the recording to Sancar if you want. But don’t look for me again! Halise hangs up, satisfied.

Sedat flies into a rage. He downs a glass of water, then throws the glass and yells. Guven enters and wants to know what happened. Halise betrayed us, Sedat shouts, she dared to defy me! She doesn’t care if Sancar hears the recording!

I warned you, Guven says, she is not trustworthy. Everything that has happened is thanks to her. She did the same to my daughter. At first she hated her to death, and in the end, she appreciated her. And now it’s the same with Mavi. What will you do now, Guven asks, will you send the recording to Sancar? Sedat shakes his head. If Sancar listens to that recording he will punish Halise, but Mavi and Sancar will be more united. And they will also find out about my plan.

Will Halise get away with this, Guven asks, what are you thinking to do? Sedat replies, I’m going to employ a trick that will have Mavi coming straight to me by her own free will. And Halise will receive my revenge. We get a close up of Sedat’s phone with the newlywed’s pic.

Kavruk and Zehra leave the hotel. Kavruk doesn’t let the bellhop carry the bags to the car, lol. Zehra gets a call from Sancar. She tells him they are about to leave and will be back at the mansion soon. We see Gulsiye busy setting the table. Hurry up, Sancar says, we will have big celebration in your honor. We are all waiting. Zehra says they can’t wait to see everyone together again. The newlyweds drive off.

Sancar tells Halise that Zehra and Kavruk are on their way. Halise gives Gulsiye some instructions about the food. It seems you missed Zehra, Sancar notes with a big smile. Obviously, Halise replies, I argued with her before she left, like I did with you. I argued with all of you. Forget about that, Sancar tells her, calm down, we are all human, we all make mistakes. The important thing is to realize it.

Halise replies, thank God I have a son like you who shows me the truth for my own good. Don’t worry. Efe Anne is back. He kisses her hand and agrees, you’re finally back. Everyone in the house needs you. Including my baby. If we fall, you are the one who helps us. You are invaluable for all of us. Remember that always. They hug. Sancar leaves to go buy chocolate for the dessert.

Bora packs up his things in the van. He looks around, looks at his watch. He gets a call from Didem. I’m packing, he tells her, I’ll be leaving in about a half hour. Elvan? Yes, she’s on her way. Yes, sure. She can’t get ready so fast. I’m waiting, she will come. Thanks. End call. Where are you, Healer Hanım? It’s time to begin our adventure.

Elvan is packing, too. What should she pack? How to fit everything in the bag? It looks like she might be having second thoughts, then she shakes her head and continues packing. She stops and looks unsure. She doesn’t look like someone happily heading off to a new adventure.

 

Embajador S3 #44 part 3

Kavruk and Zehra drive. Kavruk is feeling relieved. He felt so bad that Zehra argued with her mother and left because of him. You weren’t the cause, she assures him, everything was because of my mother’s foolishness. Fortunately, she reconsidered.

Yes, but I don’t know yet, Kavruk replies, you know Halise Efe better than I, she won’t be able to contain herself, she will attack me. Don’t get upset and don’t worry about me, I will ignore her words. Zehra laughs. And you should ignore them, too, he says. [Turkish] Let’s just say she is the oldest and close our eyes. Canım kocacım, bitanem (my dear husband, my one and only), Zehra answers. They clasp hands. Zehra continues, since she decided to let us kiss her hand and bless us, let her say what she wants.

Kavruk spots a disabled car ahead with someone looking under the hood. He wants to stop and help. We see this is Sedat. Kavruk approaches, can I help you with something? Sedat doesn’t answer and doesn’t reveal himself but he’s got the evil smile working. Kavruk offers to look at the motor. Sedat nods, it would be helpful. Kavruk starts asking questions about the car. How did it stop? Sedat turns around to face Kavruk. He has a gun in his hand. [Turkish] It stopped because of you, he replies.

Zehra watches from the car, She doesn’t realize what’s happening yet. Kavruk turns to look at her, then walks closer to Sedat. Do what you want, he says, if you want, shoot me. But leave my wife alone. Sedat answers, do you think I would dare to separate a couple, Kavruk? You are coming with me. Kavruk turns back to his wife and shouts, hey Zehra! You have to leave here! Run! Escape!

She gets out of the car. Kavruk?! He shouts for her to get out of there. Leave me! Sedat has his gun pressed to Kavruk’s neck. Yes, Sedat shouts, leave him here! If you go, I’m going to kill your dear husband! Kavruk pleads, Zehra, leave here! Don’t listen to him! If you fall into his hands, it will be worse than death for me! Run away! I’m begging you!

Sedat grabs and lifts Kavruk by the back of the collar. [sorry, I lol’d] Zehra says she’s staying. What a beautiful love you have, Sedat mocks, I’m at the point of crying. Sedat points his gun at Zehra, come here immediately! Kavruk shouts again for her to leave. She’s not going. Zehra starts walking towards the men. Kavruk turns to face Sedat. He shouts, shoot, coward! Do it! He turns to Zehra, I’m telling you to go! Don’t do this, Kavruk, Zehra shouts back.

Kavruk dares Sedat. Pull the trigger. I won’t allow you to take her if you don’t kill me. Kavruk shouts again for Zehra to leave. Sedat knocks Kavruk out and Zehra comes running as fast as she can.

Zehra cries over Kavruk. Open your eyes! Kavruk, please, open your eyes! He’s out cold. Zehra shouts at Sedat, you bastard, what do you want from us?! Do you love him that much, Sedat asks? You animal, Zehra replies, what do you want from us? Don’t worry, Sedat says, he’s not dead, just unconscious. I asked you a question, Sedat growls, do you love your husband that much? He holds the gun to Zehra’s head. She cries and nods yes.

If that’s so, you will obey all my orders, and Sedat orders Zehra to get into his van. What are you going to do to us, Zehra asks. I still haven’t thought about what I will do with you, he replies. But if you don’t get in the van, I’ll shoot your husband! At gunpoint, Zehra cries and complies. Sedat picks up Kavruk like a rag doll [lol] and throws him into the van.

Zehra asks again what Sedat plans to do. What are you looking for? I also have a person who I would want to love me, Sedat replies, and I’m doing this for her. He slams the van door and the hood shut and drives away.

 

Embajador S3 #44 part 4

Mavi and Melek are in the kitchen making a cake. Sancar calls her. Melek reminds him to bring the white and dark chocolate. I bought them, he laughs, don’t worry. Mavi says they are busy and she has to hang up. Sancar says he’s on his way.

Sedat sends a text message to Mavi. If you want Kavruk and Zehra to live, come to the location I’ll send. Uh, oh, Mavi.

Bora pours water on his campfire. He’s packed the last of his things and looks around, worried that Elvan won’t show.

Sancar arrives with the chocolate and finds Gulsiye in the kitchen. He asks, where’s Mavi? She left. Where did she go, he asks? She told me she was cooking. She told me she forgot an ingredient, Gulsiye replies, she left to buy what she needed for the cake. Sancar is confused. But I asked her what she needed and she said only chocolate. Gulsiye is at a loss. Sancar looks alarmed.

Yahya is soothing little Gediz and trying to get him to sleep. Elvan walks with her bag and watches this from the doorway. She walks over to the couch. Yahya tells her, Elvan Annesi, he says he doesn’t want to sleep. I’m going to give him his milk and put him to bed, she tells Yahya. He will rest well, Yahya replies, anyone would fall asleep sweetly if your hand touches them.

Elvan asks Yahya if he could do her a favor and take this bag to the clothes receptacle on the corner when he leaves. Of course he will. She explains she had a lot of clothes in the closet and she’s donating them. Yahya commends her. You are a woman who helps those most in need. Have you thought about what I told you at the store, he asks?

Elvan sits and says she did. I think that…. your feelings are wrong, Yahya. Did I give you false hopes without realizing it? I hope not. I just tell me if I wrongly gave you hope. You misunderstood me, he replies, I asked you to come back to the mansion but it’s not what you think. I never asked that you come back to me.

No, I won’t go, Elvan quickly responds, it doesn’t matter what way it is, I don’t plan to return to the mansion. I thought that maybe we could put aside the pain, he says, but you are right. Now we have to continue on our own paths. Make your dreams come true with your dear son by your side. I will always be here for you both. I will be an uncle for your son and also your friend. Elvan leaves the room.

We go to the van down by the lake where Bora waits. He realizes with disappointment that Elvan will not come. Follow your path, he says, I wish you the best. Take care. See you. Bora takes one last look around then gets in his van and drives off.

Sedat waits with his bound and gagged captives. Mavi shows up. Sedat… what did you do? Mavi sees Kavruk and Zehra in the van. Sedat holds his gun on them. What do you want with these people, she asks? I don’t want anything from these two, he replies, I just want you to come with me. She answers, and what do you want from me?! Isn’t it enough already? What do you want?! I beg you to leave me alone.

Never, Sedat responds, you are going to come back with me. You can keep the baby if you want. I will gladly be its father, but you are going to come back to my side. Okay, she says, let’s say I will return. What do you think will happen? Do you think I will love you? I hate you, understand?! I am going to hate you for the rest of my life. Is that what you want? You are going to ruin our lives for a woman who will always hate you?

 

Embajador S3 #44 part 5

Do you think I care how much you hate me, he sneers. You are going to be by my side for the rest of my life! Mavi tries to reason. You’re not well. You need treatment. This is not the way to find happiness in your life. You need to see a psychologist. [too bad Muge left town] All I need is you, my beloved Mavi, he replies. If you don’t accept to come with me, I’ll blow their brains out!! He waves the gun at his captives.

Sancar is in his truck and he’s tracking Mavi. You promised me, Mavi. You promised…

Mavi is frightened. Okay, you won. Please put the gun down. I’ll come back to you. Zehra and Kavruk have nothing to do with us. Please free them. Never, Sedat replies, I won’t free them. Why, she asks, I told you I would go with you. What do you want now? I won’t fall for your tricks again, he tells her, get in the van. We are leaving together. When we leave and arrive at our home, you will call Sancar and tell him to pick up these idiots.

Are you crazy, Mavi asks, how long will they wait? What trick?! The car is there. She points to her car. I’ll go with you! Okay, Sedat says, since you won’t do what I’m asking, I’m going to start by killing this girl! He points at Zehra. Kavruk tries in vain to shield her. Not gonna work. What do you say, Sedat shouts. She asks him to stay calm and lower the gun. Let’s go, she says and starts walking to her car. He doesn’t budge. She tells him he can tie her hands.

Sedat walks towards Mavi. He gives her a zip tie to put around her wrists. It’s done, now I’m getting in the car, she says., but you have to stay calm. He yells at Mavi to get in the car. He points the gun at her. She sits in the car and Sedat turns back to the van.

Sedat!! Sancar has arrived and he’s got his gun pointed at Sedat. Sancar spots Zehra. Mavi is surprised to see her husband. Sancar reminds Sedat he warned him not to come near his family or Mavi. I swore, I warned you, I will not hesitate to kill you! Sedat has his gun on Zehra and Kavruk. Mavi tries to keep Sancar calm.

Sedat puts his arms wide. He shouts, shoot! Here I am! Mavi pleads with Sancar. He tells her to get back in the car. Mavi begs, Sancar, enough, you will be a murderer! [where have we heard this before?] I can’t leave it like this, Sancar replies, he deserves this, Mavi! I can’t live with the risk that he will hurt my family. Answer me, she asks, is it worth becoming a killer for him? Think of Melek and the baby. Think about us. Calm down. We will send him to prison.

Never, Sancar says, I have to make sure he won’t hurt anyone again. There’s only one way to avoid that, Sedat offers, and that’s to shoot me. Here I am! Do it! Mavi cautions, don’t. If you pull that trigger, he will accomplish his objective. He will get away with it.

Sancar shouts, this is going to end here! Mavi tries again. If you pull that trigger… you can forget about me, Sancar. I won’t allow it. I’ll go. You won’t see our new baby. Sancar gives Mavi an icy stare. I can’t believe this, Sedat says, I’m bored listening to you two. Sancar and Mavi have their eyes locked on each other. But he still has his gun on Sedat.

Sancar has already decided, Sedat says, this will end here. Sedat quickly raises his gun, and Sancar shoots him. Mavi shouts and Sedat goes down. [Wow, Sancar has the same look on his face as when he had Akin up on the mountain]

Mavi is horrified. Sancar, what did you do? Sancar stares at Sedat with his gun still aimed at him. What did you do, Mavi says, you killed him. He’s dead. Sancar looks at Mavi. You are a murderer, she tells him.

This was the end of Turkish ep # 49. And we are out.

Thanks, Dondi, for the detailed recap. I was upset that Gulsiye and Dudu both knew of Halise’s plans, but neither apparently considered it an emergency. Halise needed to be stopped immediately. And Mavi kept us on the edge of our seats as she would put the cup to her lips and then put it down.

Yaya is hovering too much. I’m glad he is helping Elvan but he needs to give her space. I’m hoping Bora will decide to stay and make a life with Elvan. I’m assuming the baby comes with his father’s money, house and other things. So Elvan doesn’t ever need to go back to living at the mansion, or depending on Yaya.

The writers are doing a good job with this story.

I just finished reading this recap and saw the comment I made from the previous recap! This episode was really upsetting for me. And after reading that Yaya would just be an uncle and Elvan could choose her own path I felt he wants what’s best for Elvan. But then Bora decides she’s not coming and decides to leave. Why doesn’t he pick her up. Why make her lug the baby and their things to him.

I can see why Sancar pulled the trigger. A madman with a gun pointed at your sister would be enough to make you shoot. But then didn’t he point the gun at Sancar? Did Mavi want Sancar to get shot! I would think self defense would free him from any punishment. Sedat was a madman who was bound to kill someone.
Maybe he is still alive, guess we’ll wait and see!

Dondi, thank you so much . I just don't know how you keep turning out these amazing recaps which capture every moment.

Yikes, Halise makes a 360 turn . ...okay.....I put my beanie on . Kav and Zehra can live at the mansion. Yay. But then ....more terror as Sedat holds them at gunpoint . I cannot believe that Mavi called San an assasin. Wasn't that self defense ? Is that crazy evil roach Sedat dead?


These writers have given us so many surprises . This episode had us wondering if Elvan would choose Ya or Bor, and now it appears that so far she has chosen neither, but she has baby Gediz. Were the writers tricking us with El packing that little totebag? What was that supposed to be about?

How many episodes are left? I am sure that the writers will have us squirming to the end. They have given us lots of red herrings.

I am very disappointed in Tyler for accepting those photos at face value for a good number of reasons; just one reason that rankles: he was kissing poor, clearly interested Érika while "seeing" Andrea's face. (Personally, I'd take either one :)
But his reaction to the photos, undated other than Andrea's comment that they were 'recent', was way too much. Fortunately doña Maty likes Érika and I think she will soon find out what caused this commotion.

Ignacio never passes up a chance where women are concerned.

Andrea is a really difficult character. We have now seen her backstory and have a good idea how she wound up a con artist. She once defended herself to Katya saying she did what she had to do for a decent life for them but she never prostituted herself.
I can't seriously defend real grifters but there is a long history of "good" or likable grifters in film and stage such as Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and Without a Clue and, of course, The Sting. And perhaps another million or two lesser outings.

I'm not going to freak out over Andrea, but I really don't know what the novela plans for her. Right from the moment they met she and Tyler have been attracted to each other even though Tyler believes she is his sister. And though Andrea knows that is not true it is still a slightly icky situation, at least for Tyler.


I am still wondering if Mario and Gladys are ever going to get it on, or if Brandon will ever get it on with anybody, ever   :-)

I do pay attention to what women wear but not necessarily to "fashion", but OMG! What was that that Gladys was wearing with the fabric turned into a "flower"(?) on her right shoulder? How could Paulina talk to her without cracking up? The crew must have needed a dozen takes to get it right without anybody laughing.

I have realized that I like the great majority of characters in this novela, some of them very much.

Another fantastic recap Dondi!! Thank you for all the hard work you put into this!!!

This episode had me laughing too - not at Sadat and Kavruk, but at the idea that everybody is just instantly thrilled to have Halise's forgiveness and just jumps for joy and excitement without so much as a second's hesitation! No thought at all to how horribly she's acted and treated everyone just pure excitement that she's forgiven THEM!!! LOL I need Susanlynn's beanie. Mine isn't tight enough!


I really don't like what the writers did to Bora. He started out as this determined pursuer of Elvan and then the second he had her attention he went all wishy washy, who needs labels, no commitment guy. And now, he's leaving because she had until that very night to decide and run away with him??? And she didn't show in time??? That's pathetic. Her entire life has flipped upside down and he's solution is run away with me NOW or never?? Like Liz said what if she needed more time to pack, or the kid was sick, or any number of things. But even if she just plain isn't coming, it was pretty crappy of him to tell her he didn't want a family all that time then turn around and say maybe I do want it, it's our destiny, leave with me TONIGHT!!! eyesrolling

Yaya isn't a prize either, but he does seem to genuinely care about Elvan. In his messed up, ineffective, stupid Yaya way, but he does. Let's all hope that there's a door number 3 for Elvan eventually and that yes, she did inherit Kman's money along with the baby.

I don't know what to say about Mavi's whole 'you're a murderer' statement other than what is already said. Self-defense isn't murder. But maybe it's just trauma and she'll come down to earth after the situation is defused. I almost wondered when watching if someone else shot and not Sancar - like a bait and switch? It seemed too fast, like the second Sadat aimed at Sancar the shot went off, Sancar doesn't have the experience for that type of reflex. Maybe there's someone else off screen? Guven? Or maybe Sancar just shot. I suppose we will find out tomorrow! LOL

I’ll say it again—I hate automatic redemptions and forgiveness! Halise certainly does not deserve any of it. Make her work for it and then only maybe forgive. This really ticks me off.

From the beginning, Bora encouraged Elvan to follow her dreams. He told her he would support her choices, whatever they were. He couldn’t understand why she would cling to a culture and a family that sought to take her choices away. Bora never pressured Elvan. And in the end, he cared enough to accept her choice to leave or stay. It made sense to me that he would leave as he did. But I was sorry to see him go.

ITA, Darcy, Yayha cares about Elvan. I believe he’s sincere. We know he really wants her back. He says he’s changed, but not completely. He’s basically stalking Elvan with the excuse he wants to help. He says it will be whatever she wants, but in the next breath he practically pleads with her to come back to the mansion. Yeah, no pressure, Elvan.
And I’d like to see Elvan choose door number 3! At least for now. Her life has to settle a bit.

Sancar never took his gun off Sedat. Sedat kept baiting him to shoot and when he raised his gun, Sancar shot. Mavi issued that “threat” thinking Sancar would back off. I’ll give her a pass on her reaction. It looks like self-defense, but here we go again. Shades of Sancar/Nare/Akin.

Not much left. We are at the start of Turkish ep 50 out of 52.

Mexicana. Glad your comments were restored, Andy. It was exceptionally mean of Andrea to fake those photos of Erika and I agree that Tyler was naive to take them at face value. But, good heavens, he thinks Andrea is family and wouldn't do such a nasty thing to him.

I don't watch this show, but I did surf in for a moment and saw that HUGE Pale pink chiffon rose. The actress could have rested her head on it like a pillow. I had to laugh because I had a small Pink chiffon rose I used to wear on my blazer lapel.

Susanlynn, I think you have met our Gladys, a real sweetheart, but a bit ditzy. Maybe more than just a bit. Still, truly a sweetheart.

I like this novela for several reasons, including the fact that the vast majority of characters are all nice and decent people, which is a very pleasant change.

Kudos to the Kavruk actor. His demeanor has changed ever so subtly since he's changed from servant to husband.

Mavi, really? If you call your husband a murderer one more time, I'm gonna slap you. Sedat left Sancar no choice.

So disappointed in Bora, but maybe he'll return.
