d. Abel and Adrian are stalking the clinic staff waiting for an opening for…. I am not sure what, but they have a plan.
Emma has a plan too, she’s invited Rodrigo to her house and her bedroom but she assures Mica it’s not what it looks like; just like the good ol’ Count of Monte Cristo, Emma knows exactly what to do to get Rod to confess she didn’t drink anything the night of the party.
Valero is fixing a car when Fede comes in presumably to plant the gun. Valero hears a noise but not well enough since he has earbuds in. He goes back to work. Meanwhile, Fede gets to the dormitory (ie. the brother’s bedroom) and has to guess which bed to hide the gun under. I believe he guesses Damian’s bed correctly, but since Damian gave up his bed up to d. Abel this may not go the way Fede thinks it will. (Let’s just pull our beanies down and not ask who over the age of say 12 would actually hide a gun under their mattress)
Damian is telling his brothers about Elisa’s painting of their father’s grave and shows them exactly how it matches the graveyard scenery. This time Elisa signed her real name! There’s no doubt; their mother is alive.
Fede is back in the shop and I’m bummed that he isn’t wearing his totally conspicuous all black getup that he usually wears when running such an errand. I thought he was going to make it out without being seen but he intentionally makes noise to alert Valero and pretends he was looking for Jesus. He is told Jesus isn’t there so Valero signs for the delivery of their paycheck instead – it’s the second check for the job they did on the cars for the race.
Adrian wants to wait for the shift change to sneak info about his mom but d. Abel wants to think like lawyers instead and come at the situation legally. He has some documents and he’s prepared. Adrian is excited to see Abel has a plan.
Vicky is in bed with a rag over her face, poor thing. Mica tries to beg her to eat but Vicky refuses. She is too worried about Domi being out there alone without credit cards, she doesn’t know how to be poor! LOL Domi arrives at the house of Mari with bags in tow. Remember when you offered me a place to stay in your house, she asks, well here I am! (LOL) Domi looks uncertain and Lupe is confused.
Mica tries to cheer up Vicky saying she’s sure Augi will convince Domi to come home. She mentions she saw her talking with her dad at Mari’s party yesterday but this is a mistake because it just tells Vicky that Domi too is partying with the Garcia’s. Mica also lets it slip that Augi let Mari stay a few days at the Finca so of course she had to invite him to her celebration, fair is fair. Vicky is absolutely distraught but Darcy is cracking up and enjoying every minute of mommy dearest’s distress! Vicky kicks Mica out!
Domi asks about Conchita who is in bed with her head injury but doing better. We see Concha resting. Lupe offers Domi something to drink but she says not to wait on her. Lupe calls her senorita but Domi says call me Domenica or Domis whichever you’d prefer. Lupe in turn says to call her Guadalupe or Lupe and not senora. Next Mari and Domi each try to claim the smaller bedroom neither wanting the other to be put out.
Jesus, Damian and Sam arrive back at the garage and they now have a plan to get a look at Augi’s surveillance footage to see if they can get a glimpse of Elisa dropping off the painting at Augi’s. Jesus drops Damian and Sam off and is off on his mission.
Mari shows Domi the smaller room and Mari still thinks it’s too small for her but Domi is charmed by the little stuffed animals. The discuss their parents and Mari says Augi is wonderful and Domi agrees but he’s also very controlling sometimes. Mari assures Domi she’s welcome for as long as she needs though she’s sure she will resolve her issues with her parents soon.
The police are already searching the shop and already have a warrant for Damian’s arrest – that was fast! Valero tells the arriving Damian and Sam that the police are looking for some guy, Damian Guerrero? The search continues and Sam, Damian and Valero fret over what will happen when Damian is arrested. They’ll fingerprint him and find out he’s Damian Sanchez and then the jig is up! Damian is quick on the uptake and immediately realizes Augi is setting him up to get him away from Domi and he laments the fact that he’ll surely lose Domi forever once she learns he’s been lying to her this whole time! Sam is concerned too over how hurt Domi is going to be.
Vicky calls the Finca to yell at Modesta for not telling her that stupid ‘Garcia’ was staying at her Finca, meaning Mari, of course; but Modesta misunderstands and tells Vicky that since Guadalupe came with Augi she assumed Vicky knew about it!!! LOLOLOLOL Vicky hangs up the phone ranting about how much she hates Lupe because she’s trying to take everything from her.
More hugs for Mari and Domi and Domi heads to her house to get some more of her stuff. Do Mari and Lupe need anything? They say no and Domi leaves. As soon as she’s out the door the mask falls from Lupe’s face and she lets Mari know that this is a mistake. She can’t even imagine what will happen when Vicky finds out her little princess is staying in their house!! It will not be pretty. So what was I supposed to do, Mari asks, leave Domenica out on the streets? Mari points out Domi isn’t to blame for the actions of her mother and Lupe agrees. She mentions too the mistakes Emma makes, just because of the lack of attention from her mother. She really hopes Emma’s choices don’t lead her to more trouble.
We see Emma’s current choice ‘Operation trick Rod’ is getting nice and comfy on her bed as she demurely enters the room. He tries to charm Emma with the idea that they can make more serious videos together since she’s proven to be a good interviewer. Emma pretends this is a good idea. Rod tries to get all serious and flirty and Emma pretends to play along. She was thinking maybe they could be a good couple but first she needs to be able to trust him completely! She needs to know the truth about what happened that night at his party when all she drank was water. She turns away and pushes record. Rodrigo falls into Emma’s trap so quickly he all but trips on the way down. He admits he drugged her because she didn’t want to drink and all he wanted to do was relax her so she would have fun! Emma’s hidden face shows triumphant joy but I’m not so sure, this feels way too easy to be real.
D. Abel and Adrian approach the nurse and Abel introduces himself as Adrian’s lawyer and shows him his order to have her records shared with her next of kin, in this case her son. The nurse says there’s no son shown in her file but Abel isn’t discouraged. He simply tells her that her records are incomplete. He pulls out Adrian’s birth certificate and hands it to her. The nurse says she’ll have to go confirm this and Adrian is excited that d. Abel has his birth certificate because now he can learn the name of his father but Abel gives him the bad news that his father isn’t listed on the certificate. The nurse returns and gives Abel the file and a minute later Damian calls and gives Abel the news that he’s about to be arrested and Abel says he’ll be right there.
Damian tells Sam and Valero he that told d. Abel what’s going on but he still can’t get ahold of Jesus. They continue to speak quietly about the problem they are in while the police keep searching around them. Sam doesn’t understand why Damian’s fingerprints are going to get him in trouble so Damian explains that he has been arrested before and they fingerprinted him. They were able to prove his innocence in the previous case but his fingerprints are still on file so as soon as they fingerprint him now, they are going to match the file and everyone will know he is Damian Sanchez. One of the officers comes over to ask which of them is Damian Guerrero and Sam doesn’t even hesitate, he says it’s me! I’m Damian!! Go ahead and check my fingerprints, he holds his hands out!! (Oh, sweet boy!) Sam looks so proud of himself and the officer looks so confused – LOL!
Jesus is now with some security guy trying to convince him that he was sent to look at the security footage by his boss. He gives some sob story about the livelihood of three families depends on him getting this footage so they can fix whatever they missed – or something like that, I didn’t really follow him. He convinces the guy but as soon as he starts to look up the footage his phone rings and it’s Damian asking for Jesus Guerrero. Jesus takes the phone and finally finds out about the goings on at home.
Augi is sending Fede off to look for Elisa in Michoacan. Fede isn’t happy because he thinks he’s needed there to deal with the fallout of Iker’s frame job but Augi can deal with that. He wants Fede to leave this very afternoon and not come back until he has news of Elisa and her sons.
Santiago thinks Elisa made a mistake leaving the painting for Augi and now he’s going to come looking for her. Elisa says that’s exactly what she wants to happen! Santiago is confused but Elisa says she did it to draw Augi’s attention to Michoacan, she wants him to think she’s there and her sons are there with her so that while he’s looking over there she can look here in town and hopefully find her sons! Santiago thinks her plan could work but she’s putting herself at great risk. Elisa is capable of anything to protect her sons; they have suffered enough!
Just as Damian assures the police, they won’t find anything because none of them had anything to do with Iker’s death, the searching officers find the planted gun and the officer declares they found their murderer. Damian recognizes the gun as the one Augi had. He goes to arrest Damian (SAM) and asks where his ID is, Sam says he doesn’t have any ID. The officer wants to know if he’s hiding anything and Valero tries to come up with some crazy explanation of how/why Damian/Sam doesn’t have an ID and I didn’t understand anything he said (maybe O.S. can Valero translate) but it ends with him declaring he and Samulin (Damian) are two witnesses that this is Damian Guerrero! The Police handcuff Sam and go to take him away with Damian assuring Sam that everything will be okay, Sam still looks pretty proud of himself but slightly less sure of this plan.
Emma is talking with Domi and I hope this means, Rodrigo is already gone and my bad feeling was wrong. Em is happy to see Domi and she’s happy to see her too but she’s just packing more stuff but they celebrate the fact that Emma got the recording of Rod and she uploads it, it quickly gets likes and Domi tells her how proud she is of her bravery! The love fest is short lived when Em gets an alert about Iker’s death to the shock of everyone – including Mica who is also in the room with Em and Domi.
Domi rushes to tell Augi that Iker was murdered. Domi doesn’t understand how/why this happened. Augi says Iker was involved in organized crime and involved with some dangerous people. Augi rather coldly just tells Domi she was engaged to a man she never knew who messed with the wrong powerful and dangerous people and paid for his mistakes. Domi asks if they are dangerous like Augi!!! Augi asks what Domi is insinuating but she says he always said he was capable of anything to defend his daughters. Augi plays the victim saying of course he isn’t dangerous, much less a murderer. The gaslighting works, and Domi apologizes. Augi hugs both Domi and Emma and Carloca rushes downstairs to inform daddy that the cops are crawling all over Jesus’s place. She wants to find out what’s going on but Augi says no! and then NO NO NO!! Domi almost goes with Carloca but Augi demands they stay. I thought he would win that argument too, but in the time, it took us to find out Selena too is trying in vain to get information on what is going on; Augi is out to the street with Domi, Carloca and Mica. He tries to tell them nothing is going on but they insist so he crosses the street to inquire. I really wish the police would tell him it’s none of his business, but as with everyone else who hears the name Augusto Luis Montalvo, they quickly give Augi all the deets. When Domi hears Damian is being accused of killing Iker she is insistent that’s impossible and she makes a run to get inside to go see Damian.
The Garcia women show up to help Villalba with something – not sure what – but he doesn’t think they should be there especially not Dona Conchita who should be at home resting. Maybe they just brought him lunch? I guess they are at the scene of the fire bombs and the technicians give them that very news, the incident was caused by someone throwing bombs into the party. Do they have any idea who would do that? Mari immediately speaks up saying she suspects Carloca Luis Montalvo!
Domi didn’t make it far and the police are keeping her out, which is probably good cause she would have probably blown Sam and Damian’s cover. Augi insists she go home and she finally does. Augi leaves Mica and Carloca behind for some reason, and Carloca is concerned because she doesn’t see Jesus’s truck, is he there?
The guys are coming out and Mica is confused over why Sam is being arrested when they said Damian was suspected. She voices this out loud but, in the chaos, no one pays attention to her. Selena too is concerned about Sam and asking what’s going on but I only heard her refer to him as her boyfriend and ‘my love’. The scene is full of everyone talking and Damian and Valero trying to reassure Sam but whatever anyone does or doesn’t say, the police end up leaving with Sam thinking he’s Damian and none the wiser of the brother swap.
Selena is upset after the car leaves and she doesn’t understand why Valero and Damian didn’t try to stop it. Mica says Sam isn’t capable of killing a fly and Selena says Sam is too good for prison, it’s not the place for a guy like him. Stupid Carloca can’t think of anything to say except ‘and Jesus, he’s not here, is he in trouble?’ (eyes rolling). The guard comes to tell Carloca that her father sent him to come get her and she needs to go inside, Carloca goes but not before asking again if Jesus is okay. Valero gives a mas o menos type gesture and if looks to kill Damian would be guilty of murdering Carloca!! Can’t say as I blame him though.
Belen sits listening to Rodrigo’s confession now posted to Insta, she looks like she might actually feel guilty. She sends him a voice text to Emma, thanking her for her help at the competition and says because of her she was able to dance. She doesn’t go as far as to actually apologizing for being so horrible to Em, but she does suggest that maybe she should spend more time hanging out with girls instead of just the guys. She asks Emma if she would like to hang out sometime, she’s knows they aren’t friends, but maybe they could be. Emma listens but doesn’t answer right away. She listens to Adrian’s message next saying he too heard Rigo’s confession and congrats on getting him to confess. He admits that at first he doubted her a little but Rigo really crossed the line. He promises never to doubt her again.
Emma calls Adrian to ask about his cousins but he says he just got there and it’s really sure what’s up yet. Em also tells him Belen sent her a message, isn’t that weird? Adrian says not really, Belen is a good person and maybe Emma should give her a chance, since she’d probably be a better friend than Renata (that really isn’t saying much) Em says maybe she will and maybe she’ll also have a chance to sneak out and see Adrian, she misses him and loves him. He sends her kisses and hangs up.
Vicky is trying and I thought for a second she might actually care about Iker but no she’s upset about the news that her precious daughter was dating a man capable of murder. Vicky actually says imagine being with someone capable of cold-blooded murder! (LOL) This coming from the woman who poisoned half the town on purpose, Augi is sure this will separate Domi from Damian forever. Vicky thinks Domi needs therapy to learn to pick better partners – first a crook and now a murderer!! LMAO. This somehow turns into a conversation about how wonderful Augi is and some wise crack about Lupe. Augi tells Vicky to stop her insinuations, the Garcias will always be in his life, always! Augi leaves and Vicky goes on a damn those Garcias rant.
Lupe doesn’t think Carloca is capable of throwing bombs but Mari is sure it was her. Lupe asks what Conchita thinks and she says she needs to talk to Augi before deciding. Mari thinks back to the attack and asks herself if it was really Carloca. Is she that crazed by jealousy? Maybe she’s capable of anything. Speaking of Carloca, she’s learning that Iker is dead and she listens to his voice mail, she’s unmoved by his pleas that her dad needs to leave him alone and is just happy he’s dead since that makes one less problem for her!! She almost skips out of the room before one thought stops her cold, ‘what if he also called Jesus?’
Jesus is now home and wanting an explanation of why Samuel was arrested. Valero tells the whole story in a rather hilarious way making Sam sound as if he sacrificed his own life to protect Damian instead of just took his seat in a jail cell. d. Abel seems to think that because Damian was innocent of the previous crime, they can get his record expunged and even get his fingerprints out of the system – which sounds odd to me but I suppose? Damian swears he didn’t kill Iker and Jesus tells him they all believe him. They all know it was Augi who did it!! Jesus suddenly remembers his phone and the video of Augi threatening Iker earlier that day. Where’s my phone he says? We have to find it, that video is proof positive that the murderer is Augusto!!!
And there we end, but there’s two problems with Jesus’s theory. 1. I’m pretty sure that was Jesus’s phone we saw smashed in the chaos of the fire bombing the day before during the grad party. And 2. That video doesn’t actually prove Augi killed anyone. It proves he threatened to kill Iker earlier that same day which granted would be pretty damning circumstantial evidence but it’s ‘proof positive’ of absolutely nothing…
Thanks, Darcy. What a fine recap for such a busy episode.
As requested, your Valero Whisperer is here. This is what he told the police:
“We went to the stadium to see (Team) America, and you know how it gets (packed)! We were cheering and cheering, “Go!” His ID either fell or someone took it. Who knows, but don’t worry. We’ve already started the renewal process. What can I tell you? It will take around 27 days. In the meantime, would you like a taco? (Pause.). Fine. Take him! Here you have 2 witnesses that this (Sam) is Damián Guerrero. Right Samuelín (Damián)?!!”
At this point Sam looks a little confused while still trying to play along. Hilarious!!!
Thank you O.S. for Valero whispering for us!! What a funny story! Lol Valero is so creative!!! Who doesn’t want a taco??? Lol
SpanProf, Sam looked so proud of himself when he decided to take Damian’s place! I laughed for like 45 minutes at the memory of Sam sticking his hands out and saying check my fingerprints!!
If Samuel has to spend even a week in prison, that will be too much for him.For some reason I expected Damian not to go along with this idea right away, but oh well... Domenica struck gold with that comment. Mari Luz just invited Dom to stay without asking if her mother and Grandmother agreed. A bit entitled I'd say.
Vicky is trying to console Domi and she says at least she’s home now, but Domi says don’t get your hopes up, I came to get some stuff and I’m leaving. Vicky pleads with Domi to change her mind, Vicky misses her and apparently Domi’s gotten skinny in the last two days. Don’t they feed you where you’re staying? Vicky asks. Domi says exactly what viewerville is thinking ‘Don’t be ridiculous, I’m exactly the same!’ LOL
Adrian talks to mommy’s pic again and is excited he got her file. He’s hopeful that the contents will help him figure out what happened to her. What he finds is that Fede and Augusto did indeed have something to do with mommy’s clinical stay.
Emma is excited to show mommy dearest the video proving that she’s innocent of the drinking incident and expecting mommy to be proud of her; but Vicky reacts with horror! She can’t believe Emma posted that video! How will she ever show her face around Rodrigo’s family, they are important people, doesn’t Emma know? How will Vicky hold her head high at the club? All Emma has done is made them the talk of the town again, can’t Emma be discreet??? So yep, Mommy doesn’t care at all that Rod’s entitled ass tried to drug her daughter all she cares about is maintaining appearances with his parents, what a peach!
Conchita goes to the hospital get some tests – which she should have done the day of the party – but they have to wait until tomorrow to get the tests done. Conchita wants to get out of it but Mari orders her to return and get it done. Villalba shows up all worried and Lupe apologizes to him for freaking out like a crazy person about him falling asleep on the couch (at least I think that’s what they are talking about it’s hard to keep track of these two) Villalba says not to worry about it and helps Conchita walk out of the hospital.
Jesus goes to see Sam in jail and tells him to be strong. He’s proud of him, he’s a good brother. Jesus makes sure he’s okay and he says he is. Jesus says he doesn’t want Sam talking to anyone here and Sam is just like I’m talking to them (all his cell mates) Jesus clarifies just don’t talk about the plan, Sam says he won’t. The brothers hug sort-of through the bars and say they love each other.
Domi is in her room looking at Damian’s drawing, he can’t be a murder, she remembers him saying he’d even kill for her but she doesn’t believe he is capable of this. Mica comes and gives Domi the rest of the gossip. The cops came for Damian but left with Sam. Also, they found a gun!! Domi is shocked for a second but says but we have guns in our house too, that doesn’t make us killers. They could have the gun for protection, right? Mica agrees. Besides Mica doesn’t think Damian is capable of murdering Iker either, they didn’t get along but still… Domi decides to take off and see what Damian has to say about all of this.
Jesus speaks with the detective and learns what they found. Jesus says the gun was planted; you have to believe me! It doesn’t belong to Damian. We see Fede leaving some document and a stack of money with some doorman. Jesus tells the detective that Damian was with his girlfriend at the time of the murder. Domenica Luis Montalvo, she’ll come and declare herself that he was with her, Damian couldn’t have done this.
Domi is now in the garage asking Damian why Sam was arrested and not him. Damian tells her part of the truth – that Sam told the police that he was Damian because of Damian’s past arrest, he explains he was innocent but it will still look bad. Domi says but if you were innocent there’s no reason for Sam to be in jail, it’s not a good place for him. Damian agrees I’m sure but he can’t completely explain the whole fingerprint-Sanchez of it all so he just tells Domi they believe they can get Sam/Damian released much more quickly than Damian himself would have been. Damian asks if Domi knows that he didn’t kill Iker and she answers with I don’t know!!! Damian asks again and she repeats I don’t know, did you?? Damian says of course not!! But it’s a shame my word isn’t enough for you! He takes off and Domi sort of half heartedly calls him back, but is also frozen by doubt and fear.
Emma tries to take her problems with mom to Adrian but he doesn’t listen to her because he’s too distracted by what he learned about Fede. He asks Emma about Fede and she says he’s been involved in the dad’s business since before she was born (I still say he doesn’t look old enough to have been in the family business that long but maybe he joined the thug life at eight) Emma doesn’t understand why Adrian is asking about her cousin and he plays it off as curiosity.
Fede is in Michoacan and checking into his hotel. He asks for information about Art exhibits around and gets pamphlets from the desk. At the same time, Elisa is setting up her new art show to go up ASAP and this time she wants the show under her real name!! Santiago insists again that she’s risking too much but she tells him a mother is capable of anything for her children.
Damian rides around aimlessly and Valero has to tell Domi that he hasn’t returned.
Sam seems to be doing pretty well so far in jail and he’s talking to the guy next to him about his legal troubles. The kid says he had to sign his own declaration but he doesn’t know how to read, so how does he know what he’s signing? The police could write down anything and he wouldn’t know any better!!! Sam remembers how Domi taught him to read and he tells the kid he needs to learn to read! Sam says he was in the same boat not too long ago but someone taught him and the guy should learn too. Sam’s popularity continues and Selena comes to visit him. She wants to know why the police brought him here thinking he was Damian and Sam says it’s because that’s what he wanted. Selena says it’s not fair that Sam is here because he didn’t do anything but Sam pragmatically points out that Damian didn’t do anything either. Sam just puts his finger to his mouth in the shush motion and says he can’t tell her anything but not to worry. Selena is worried and wanting to help but Sam just goes and sits down again with his new friends, he did thank her for coming though.
Conchita comes to see Augi and he’s immediately upset to hear Conchita was hurt and he wasn’t immediately informed!! He wants to call the police immediately but Conchita stops him and gently gives him the news that their number one suspect is his daughter Carloca! (She said Carlota, but we all know she’s loca) Vicky overhears the whole conversation and Augi tries to assure Conchita that Carloca couldn’t have been involved and Conchita says she doesn’t want to accuse her but after what happened at the flower stand she is scared Carloca could be a danger to Mari. Augi gives the whole Carloca grew up in trauma and because of that sometimes she’s not okay speech and that’s kind of Conchita’s point, you know? Anyway, he promises to find out the truth and Vicky is giddy outside the door because she has just gotten a great idea!! She can attack Lupe now and they will blame Carloca since they already suspect her. Two birds, one stone. She calls Fede who hasn’t yet found an exhibition for Elisa, and she tells Fede she wants him to send someone to do a job at Lupe’s house, Fede thinks Vicky is crazy because Vicky owns the house of course, but Vicky couldn’t care less.
Speaking of, Carloca lets herself into the Guerrero residence once again looking for Jesus and this time finds him in the shower. She’s excited, he’s not! (The look on the actress’s face was hilarious!) She tries to get friendly and points out there shouldn’t be a problem since they are in a relationship but Jesus is not having it. Carloca thinks he’s just distracted by the issues with Damian, but Jesus says it’s more than that. In fact, he thinks this situation is out of control. He can’t take it anymore; everything is going wrong and it’s better if they call it quits. Carloca says no, we are together, I need you. We have to stay together.
Next Jesus goes to see Mari. It’s time to tell her everything! He brought her some written document that tells all – maybe it’s his man dairy – and he tells her he broke up with Carloca. Mari should read the document and then she will know all his secrets and after that she can decide if she wants to take the risk and be with him or not. If she does, nothing will separate them! Mari is not in the mood however, because Jesus keeps coming at her with this BS and then after he comes, Carloca shows up next with fire bombs or other unpleasantries and Mari is sick of it! Carloca is blaming her for seeking Jesus out, but Mari isn’t seeking Jesus out, Jesus seeks her out and drama follows! She doesn’t believe he’s really left Carloca and she doesn’t want any more trouble with Carloca! She asks Jesus to please just leave her in peace!! Jesus tries to protest especially because he still doesn’t seem to realize Carloca is the one tormenting Mari but his argument pretty much goes up in smoke when Carloca arrives right on cue.
Jesus quickly hides the journal and Mari tells them both to get lost. Jesus pulls Carloca away as she declares that she will never leave Jesus alone or let him be with this disgusting florist. After Jesus drags Carloca away, Mari second guesses herself. What if he really did break up with Carloca? What if the dairy really did contain all of the hidden secrets? What if he really did want to tell me everything?
Meanwhile, Carloca tries to convince Jesus not to break up with her but has a complete anxiety attack in his truck. Jesus wants to know what Carloca did to Mari but Carloca says nothing. Mari is just lying to cause problems between us. Carloca says she want be able to survive without Jesus, she needs him. She needs him, she needs him!! She needs … her pills!!! She freaks out and Jesus might actually start to read the writing on the wall when he picks the Clonazepam that Carloca dropped up off the floorboard of his truck.
The Garcias are discussing Carloca too until Villalba shows up all excitement and 427,000 words. The ladies find his excitement contagious and they eventually find out he’s excited because he has all the paperwork signed and completed for Lupe to reopen her Pazole business!!! Lupe is in aw and Conchita is thrilled and kisses Villabla on both cheeks. They decide to put the sign up now.
Valero is with Domi at the police station waiting to see Sam. Domi thinks him for coming with her and he says of course. I couldn’t let you come alone Sam would hit me and Damian would kill me…. Um, not that Sam is violent or Damian is a killer, I just mean… Valero goes on in his Valero way but Domi understands. She can’t believe Sam is in jail to defend Damian from going to jail for something he didn’t do. Domi wants to ask daddy for help but Valero has some gossip for her on that front, Augi told Jesus that he’d be willing to help clear things up only after Damian agrees to stop seeing Domi! Domi can’t believe it, dad crossed the line. The conversation is interrupted when Selena walks by and Valero says hello to her but she doesn’t even acknowledge him and just keeps walking.
Sam is trying to explain the letters of the alphabet to the inmates when Domi arrives and Sam excitedly tells his new buddies, that’s my teacher! She’s the one who taught me to read. One of the guys says with a teacher like that anyone would learn. Domi says she came to bring Sam food and a blanket and Sam is impressed that Domi worried about him. She says she always worries about him and he doesn’t belong in here. Sam says that’s the truth, none of us did anything to Iker. Sam starts to say something about who did but realizes his mistake and stops. Domi asks if Sam knows who did it and he says of course not, how would I know that? Domi tries to insist he tell her; they need to know to get him out of there but the officer interrupts saying Domi’s time is up! Domi tries one more time but Sam just waves by and sits down to share his food with his friends.
Valero has food too, a huge corn on the cob. Domi reappears and doesn’t even go to Valero. She calls Damian instead and leaves a voice mail saying she just saw Samuel and she thinks he knows who killed Iker. She tells him to call her please, they need to talk! Valero can surely hear this but he just keeps eating corn as if he has not a care in the world.
Damian is alone staring into a fire and licking his wounds. Remembering bringing Domi there and also remembering how she doubted his innocence. Domi is also suffering asking the missing Damian to forgive her and wondering where he is.
Em is still upset about mommy, after all this time she still doesn’t understand that her mom is just a shallow, selfish and self-centered person and is still confused as to why mommy isn’t proud of her. Mica tells Emma to forget about mommy and think instead of Domi’s reaction and be proud of herself! She stood up against her abuser and very few girls do! Emma is an example to girls everywhere that they can do the same. Mica tells Em that her mommy is special but sooner or later she’ll wake up and realize what an amazing daughter she has. In the meantime, Emma should just keep doing what she’s doing, building her brand and concentrating on school and becoming the best journalist she can! Emma is cheered up by this pep talk and laughing at Mica’s enthusiasm.
Mica leaves to do a check on Carloca who needed a doctor again and of course, Carloca’s only concern is if Jesus finds out!! He’ll get scared and leave her for that stupid florist. And without Jesus, she’ll die!! She’ll die! Carloca is finally calmed as much as she ever can be and Augi learns from Vicky, but with the doctor’s agreement, that Carloca is capable of doing pretty much anything at this stage of agitation and the doc says it’s a shame because the treatment had been working. She actually suggests that Carloca’s mental health DOES depend on Jesus! Vicky says maybe Augi should talk to Jesus so he and Carloca can get married ASAP. Augi tells Vicky to calm down and the doctor says she will double Carloca’s medicine dosage but if it doesn’t help her get past the crisis, they will have to have her admitted.
Jesus is downstairs talking to Mica, trying to get information about what is wrong with Carloca but she doesn’t give him any details and asks about Sam instead. Augi comes downstairs with the doc and asks Mica to see her out. Left alone, Augi demands answers from Jesus about why Carloca is coming home in such a state but Jesus says you tell me! He shows Augi a bottle that is too small to be the Clonazpam I saw earlier and says he didn’t realize Carloca was taking anti-psychotics (I think) and he guesses this isn’t a new issue. Augi relents and says he’ll tell him. As Carloca’s boyfriend maybe he should know, but he hopes that Jesus won’t use it as an excuse to leave her. Jesus starts to speak up on that very issue but before he can Augi gets a phone call from Salgado and cuts the conversation short. He tells Jesus he has to take the call and that as he can imagine he won’t be able to see Carloca tonight so this is good night.
Augi goes off to the study to talk and I didn’t really hear him saying anything too revealing but apparently Jesus understood better than I did because he concluded that Augi is going to deliver the batch of bad milk tomorrow morning. Augi next calls Fede and asks how things are going with the Elisa search, Jesus overhears this too, but, so far Fede has found absolutely nothing!
Darcy, I don’t know how you do it. Thank you for this. First and foremost, I was not ready for the…MAN DIARY!!! I will neither confirm nor deny whether I squealed with delight at its resurgence. I need to revisit earlier notes as I’m pretty sure we were big fans of this character/prop early on. Speaking of props, Valero’s mondo (and random) corn on the cob is still making me laugh.
Mommy Dearest was again at her worst, but always fun to watch. Her indifference to Rodrigo’s Bill Cosby ways and new plan to attack Guadalupe (making it look like Carloca) were cartoonishly absurd.
The Domis/Damián spat was cliche, but well acted and shot. Of course she has her doubts; a few days ago he was yammering in a hot tub about killing for her.
I was relieved that Sam was popular in prison (and not for the obvious reasons). The literacy PSA was cute. I was worried he might be hazed after having so many pretty visitors.
They fooled me again with a blink-and-you-miss-it dream bit. Jesús was initially receptive to Carloca visiting him in the shower. Then it switched to reality and that priceless look on Carloca’s face.
The Beanie was really stretched when Dr. Codependent suggested Carloca’s mental health was reliant on Jesús. Augi needs to check this matasanos’ credentials STAT. I was happy that Jesús had proof to stop Augii’s grandstanding about Carloca’s state.
The vocabulary lesson I got from this episode was tramafat - (hysteria, anxiety attack). Thanks, Mica (said to Jesús in the final scene).
Finally, Jesús has his phone (when he’s overhearing Augi finesse his rotten milk deal!!!) so it escaped the Molotov cocktails and the incriminating video should be intact.
Steve Boudreaux, the villains are doing their standard fare, but it’s hardly as imbalanced as it is over @ Mi Camino es Amarte! Those bad guys are running amok; it’s really hard to watch.
Thank you, Darcy, outstanding job!
Who could have guessed that Sam would have such a "good" time in jail? At least we don't have to worry about him getting beaten to death. It's nice to see that, for once, they didn't turn to this cliche.
Emma should probably just go to that boarding school. It's not like she has that many friends in her current school and at home she is constantly bullyied by her mother and ignored by her father.
Carlota is such a hoot to watch when she's not doing one of her "LOCA" bits. Such a shame they have to take her to these extremes, the actress is so likable people might actually start rooting for her if it weren't for all the over the top insanity.
I haven't yet had the chance to say how done I am with Jesus and Mari this week, so there it is: they are SO boring together. He's basically using another woman, planning to ruin her emotionally in order to get to her father and she is allowing an unavailable man to play with her heart. Nothing dreamy about these two.
Thanks ladies! It was a kind of fun episode to recap. At least things are happening!
I wasn't surprised Sam was popular (not in the bad way) in jail. He's so likable, and innocent and good natured. How could anyone not like him? But I also agree it's nice they didn't just go with the cliche.
O.S., thanks for sharing the vocab lesson. Trauma fat I like that!
Adriana, I totally agree with you about Carlota. The actress is fantastic and she's doing a wonderful job in this! I also agree about Jesus and Mari, they are entirely uninteresting and as a galan Jesus leaves something to be desired. Maybe one of these days they will come up with a better revenge plot for novelas than seduction of the innocent to pay back the guilty. It's bad when they do it and the seducer gets his own medicine and ends up falling in love; it's worse in this case where Jesus isn't going to fall in love with Carloca but I guess they figure we'll forgive him since Carlota is crazy....blah.
SpanProf, excellent question about how the meds are effecting the baby!!! I hadn't thought about that! How scary
Jesús continues eavesdropping on Augi (¾ Pomp). Operation Rotten Milk continues on schedule. Next he ordered Fede to find Elisa & Sons asap. This is not a vacation.
Jesús tells Don Abel he wanted to punch Augi’s lights out. Augi has the upper hand: Elisa being hunted, Sam in prison, Damián accused of murder. And Jesús putting up with Loony Tunes. He tried breaking up, but she takes anxiety meds. Mariluz is right. He’s only causing her problems. He should concentrate on finding Ellisa. She may be closer than they think. Ya think?
Elisa stands by a new painting of Lisardo’s tree where he found his first love. She can’t stop thinking of the male she “mistook” for Lisardo. She must find them. The fight must be worth it! Her baby Sam. Untamed Damián. Brave Elisardo. She cries to Santiago; she loves them so much.
Jesùs is writing in his Man Diary again. (Woo hoo!). Mariluz is fiddling with some bracelet. She puts it to her ear like it’s a telephone. Pehaps she’ll hear the ocean. Perhaps she’s practicing for a charades tournament. I’m lost. Jesús writes/narrates he could not tell Mari the truth, he cannot break up with CarKlonopin, and he cannot break ties with Augi.
In Morelia, Fede is ordering someone to start a fire. What he does not want are victims where the “three ladies live.” The callee is supposed to make sure nobody’s home and then advise when the job is done. Next he finds Elisa’s ad for the art exhibit.
Las García Pozolería is open. They get their first BIG order. Conchita is on the mend, but Lupe want to follow through on her tests. Mari cannot stay to help; she has a job interview. Lupe states that food made with love tastes better.
Selena finishes a dancing class. She worries about Sam and wonders what he and the brothers are hiding.
Damián finally takes Domís call. She says they need to talk and meet. He pouts - why? So she can tell him she talked to Sam and she’s worried about Sam? She says jail is no place for childlike Sam. He wants to know when she’ll worry about HIM. It hurts. He thought she’d chosen HIM. He doesn’t want to hear any more. She shouldn’t worry about Sam; Sam will be fine. CLICK
Jesús (on the land line?) is getting frantic as Damián won’t take his calls. Valero and Adrián say they’ve looked everywhere for Jesús’s phone. He retraces his steps. The phone is at Las García. STOP THE PRESS. I’m telling ya’ll he had it at the end of Capítulo 47! I’m not crazy. Anyway, a burnt phone is is handed to Villalba at/around Las García. Someone calls the land line, but the call drops.
Damián walks into the JP (Hall of Justice?) and turns himself in.
Villalba gives a well-done cell phone to Adrián. Maybe some data was spared.
Ugh. Some non-mean girls make nice with Emma. Meanwhile Rat-nata whispers a vengeance plan to Ratdrigo. He smiles and nods. Ugh.
Jesús’ phone is a lost cause, but wait. Jesùs has a friend that specializes in data recovery. Sam is released. They had to pay a fine for the brother swap. Sam is worried that Damián’s fingerprints will reveal the (Sánchez) TRUTH!
Damián sticks to his guns during processing as “Damián Guerrero.”
Ugh. Emma is in class. Renata asks to go to the bathroom. On her way she swipes Emma’s phone from her backpack and smiles at Rod. Ugh.
Villalba confuses all Las Gárcia with his XXL word salad. The whole block smells great from the pozole, but something is missing. Do we have/need/want a Villalba Whisperer? I’ll pass. He has them close their eyes, and after about 27 sentences, he reveals a sign. They all love it.
Carloca is Carloca-ing because she hasn’t heard from Jesús. Elsewhere, Augi (full Pomp) is being shown footage of his precious firebug in action by some agent. He orders silence. Mommy Dearest is outside of the room listening and sighs. She tells a member of The Help (non-Mica) to keep quiet and she’ll be well-compensated. Non-Mica looks nervous.
Carloca is now at the garage grilling Valero about Jesús’s non-communication. Valero blames it on all the brothers’ current problems. He also tells her Jesús has lost his phone. Adriián skateboards in with the actual Blackened Samsung. Vocabulary Word of the Day: Tonce short for Entonces. Tonce Carloca leaves, but not before Valero asks for a kiss. “In your dreams,” she spits. Valero and Adrián start mechanic-ing, and Carloca sneaks back and steals the charred phone.
At the clink, Jesús fusses at Damián for going rogue, but no matter what they will always be brothers.
Domís fills Las García in about the Guerrero’s plight - telling them that both Sam & Damián are innocent. Don Abel comes in and tells Domís that Damián is locked up. He needs a witness to verify his location during Iker’s murder. Hot Tub Flashback!!! Domís says, “Count on me.” She will contact the Hot Tub building’s owner for video footage of their tryst, er, entrance and exit. She leaves, Don A flirts with Conchita and leaves, and Las García lament about the whole situation.
Ugh. Gross & Grosser now have Emma’s cell and ask a conveniently loitering hacker to break into its social media. He’ll do it for 5OO pesos. Emma notices her phone is missing. Ugh.
Augi wants to know how Carlota is nowhere to be found especially after recent events. Mica defends herself and even throws Mommy Dearest under the bus. Mica is saved when Carloca walks in. Augi asks where she’s been and why she has not been resting. He lays the smack down and lets her know HE KNOWS about her antics at Mariluz’s party.
Ugh. The hacker has hacked. Gross and Grosser run off to do their malfeasance. Ugh
Valero and Adrián search for the burnt phone. Adrián gets an alert. Emma’s social media has photos of her drunkenness and (hacked) messages to her followers. Back at school everyone is looking at Emma sideways. Gross and Grosser gloat. In what has to be my favorite Emma scene thus far, she jumps on Rodrigo and smacks the crap out of him. They are separated, and of course, everyone is filming. Go, Emma!!!
The owner of the cabana where all the aforementioned hot tubbing took place will email the footage to Domís.
@ the police station, Los Guerrero are told there’s a problem with Damián’s fingerprints. @ home Mariluz prays for Jesús. @ Casa Ruíz Montalvo, Domís confronts Augi (full Pomp) about his offering Jesús legal help if Damián would stay away. He admits it and says he is protecting her as her father. She defends him and vows to stand by Damián. Augi dismisses him as Iker 2.O. She bursts his bubble by saying she is his alibi. She was with him when Iker was murdered. Augi is stunned.
Carloca is marching out of the house (to find Jesús). She threatens Mommy Dearest on her way out (which will fit perfectly with MD’s plan).
A detective/agent tells Jesús and Sam that a José Damián Guerrero is wanted for murder in Puebla. Jesús argues they have the wrong name. Det. Agent says they aren’t getting anywhere with the fingerprints either. We know this is because Don Abel has expunged Damián’s record. Jesús says they have proof that clears Damián. They are given an hour to produce the evidence or Damián goes to Puebla.
Mommy Dearest asks Fede (via phone) for an update. The job has been set. We see goons setting up some intense looking pyrotechnics. Fede makes it clear they are waiting for Las García to leave so they aren’t hurt. CLICK
@ Casa García Domís has loaned Mariluz some clothes for her job interview. Meanwhile she’s working on the videos to clear Damián. Maril gives Domís keys to the house and heads out to her interview.
Damián pouts that he’s being sent to Puebla. He pouts that Domís is going to find out the truth. She’s not dumb. Jesús reassures him she’s very worried about him and doing all she can. She’s getting the Hot Tub videos! Damián pouts that Augi is trying to ruin him. Maybe Augi is right. Jesús says they will show the world the real killer. Damián pouts that even if they do, she will probably leave him upon learning the truth. He has a horrible feeling something bad will happen and he will lose her. Ominous music, I hear you!!!
Fede’s goon squad sees Mariluz leave, and now that all Las García are out of the house, they blow it up!!! Mariluz screams, “¡Doménica!”
FIN
O.S., thank you for the recap, it was very exciting to read, especially since this episode didn't dissapoint.
I'm sure Domenica will be fine, but she might get her body burned badly, become incapacitated.
So many ruined phones, people should learn to back up their information, especially when it comes to murder and mayhem.
Fede is really doing triple duty. Working overtime for Augie, doing jobs for Victoriana and "doing" her on the side, too! And he also has that Selena subplot that we can't figure out.
Domenica went from doubting Damian to giving him an alibi. Am I missing something? Iker was murdered the same time as the jacuzzy romp, so why didn't she think about this before?
O.S., thank you for another terrific recap and more vocab shoutouts!!
I was surprised they just let Sam go after he lied to the police! I missed the part about the fine, thanks for filling that in!!! That makes a bit more sense!
I like how you wrote ‘Damian pouts’ over and over again in the recap! He certainly did spend the whole episode pouting! I had to remind myself that he was torn from his family at a young age so I could try to feel some sympathy and understanding for his childish pouting!
Adriana, I don’t think Domi knew when Iker was killed originally. She had her doubts but she was trying to believe Damian. And then when they told her Iker’s time of death and she realized Damian was with her at that time she realized he truly couldn’t have done it so now she’s eager to prove it by providing his alibi.
