Heridas Friday Oct 20
Cesar tries to make a move towards Miranda when she comes down the stairs, his mophead mother and Julio (so his PARENTS we have found out) stop him, saying, “what are you going to do?” Cesar says she can’t marry this imbecile. And why didn’t they tell him this was happening? Nobody knew, they were just invited for an important reunion with everyone, nobody knew. Alejandro says he thought this moment would never come, Miranda says me neither, they kiss and everyone claps. Cesar tries to push past his parents to get to the happy couple and make a scene, he threatens mophead “let go of me or I’ll forget you’re my mother” and then raises his hand to hit Julio. Gonzalo steps in and says no – he will not allow this Monster to raise a hand against his own father. Mophead screams “Gonz what did you do!” Gonz tells her that she should never let her son raise a hand against his father. Cesar is impactado of course. He demands an explanation from Mophead. Julio yells at her too, “answer him!” She just runs away cying. Cesar and Julio stare at each other, then Julio runs off to find Mophead.
Fab is thinking (I know!) – He is sure that Bertha was involved in the death of Flor’s German doctors. But why, he wonders? Slutty comes in. She asks Fab why he hangs up when she calls him? Fab tries to get her out, she says we can talk and starts talking to Flor to demonstrate that she won’t wake up. Fab finally puts his hand over her mouth to shut her up. Flor wakes up a bit, Fab says “nothing nothing go to sleep.” Slutty tells Fab she tested positive for AIDS, he says he didn’t know and he’s sorry to hear that. She says whatever, she needs money and lots of it. 50,000 pesos. He says he doesn’t have it, what do you want me to do? She says she doesn’t care, sell his soul to the devil, whatever, get the money. She leaves him there looking confused, as usual.
During the wedding ceremony, I notice Renata and Juan in the back looking like they are getting along just fine. Then Pamela and her mother, hello Pamela! Then Lasagna looking bored, then after Al and Miranda both say “I do” the priest does the “anybody here have any reason that these two should not be married, speak now or forever hold your peace” we see Cesar begin to walk to the front. He pulls out a gun and shoots Miranda in the back! “I told you Miranda, if I can’t have you then nobody can.” Then……. Cesar comes out of his fantasy and hears the priest finish up. The ceremony wraps up and everyone is happy and claps. Cesar approaches Miranda and says “I don’t know if should congratulate you or offer my condolences.” What an ass. Ha ha ha oh Cesar you’re so funny. She tells him to just congratulate her. He then goes to give Alejandro a hug. Alejandro looks as if he would prefer to have bamboo shoved under his fingernails than be in close proximity to this guy, but you know Al, he always does the socially acceptable thing. Cesar whispers to him, “I swear to you that you’ll be sorry, you will pay dearly for this.” Al whispers back, “I swear to YOU that if you do anything against me, I’ll kill you.” They stare each other down.
Next we see Cesar dragging Lasagna by her hair down some back steps to a private area. He calls her estupida and gets in her face, “why didn’t you tell me about this?” She says she didn’t know. They argue about it and he slaps her face a couple times. She says she didn’t want to come but her mom made her. Cesar then accuses her “you and your brother are against me aren’t you?” She swears that Al knows nothing about the two of them. He grabs her hair again roughly and says “I don’t want to see one single tear. One tear and I’ll hurt you.” She whimpers for him not to hurt him. Then Cesar starts whining. “I knew she would hurt me, she mocks me, tell my why Lasagna? Why? I want to be dead to end the suffering.” Then Lasagna STUPID STUPID STUPID girl, instead of running away from this basket case as fast as she can, says “no Cesar don’t be that way! I love you more than anything! Please believe me!” He says fine, he believes her, he whines some more and dumbass Lasagna plays to his craziness some more. He tells her to get back to the party, then come to his place later. Of course she agrees. He tells her to not be a bad girl or she will receive her punishment. Then he kisses her roughly and bites her lip again. “Get your shoes and get out of here.” Bah every time I see him acting like this with Lasagna or Nuria it pisses me off. It takes me back to high school and college when the assholes got all the hot girls. Ah well, that was a long time ago, at least one hot girl wised up and married me. I don’t care about the rest.
Al and Miranda are standing by themselves at a table drinking champagne. She tells him that he looks extremely happy, he says it’s because he has a surprise. He tells her about the clause in her father’s will (or wherever that clause is) that will make the documents that Bertha has worthless. He says they have to have a kid before the year is done… then it fades out and we don’t hear any more. Miranda looks somewhere between happy and confused.
Fernanda calls Gonzalo over and says that they need to finish their conversation, but Bertha needs to be there for it. He says she’s in for quite a surprise when she returns! Fernanda says there is something else…. Gonz says not today, I just want to think about my daughter. He is sad because he always thought he would be happier on her wedding day but she is with someone he doesn’t like. Fernanda of course says that Al is a great guy and will make Miranda happy. She goes on to say that a person remembers every detail about the day they fall in love but they don’t remember what day the love goes away. She asks Gonz if he knows when he stopped loving her, and don’t say ‘that night.’ He just looks at her. It is more and more apparent that these two will end up together again before this novela is over.
Flor finally puts two and two together. She tells Fab that the only explanation for her having a genetic condition that nobody else in her family has is that she’s adopted. That’s why she’s so different from her sisters, etc. Fab tells her to quit thinking about that, those are fantasies, then he correctly states that it doesn’t matter, she’s still Florencia San Llorente etc etc. She smiles, he actually said the right thing for once, even if he was lying about not knowing the truth.
El Guapo tells someone on the phone that Gabino has to be alone for the plans. Santiago comes out and El Guapo gives him some food, what a nice guy. He tells the padre that his name is El Guapo, the father laughs. El Guapo gives him a sob story about coming here to look for work but he misses his hometown, Santiago says that when he gets some free time he’ll take him back home. El Guapo says he’s going to love the little town so much he’ll never come back. Some scary music says that El Guapo will kill him, that’s why he’ll never come back.
Renata tells Lasagna that she has to get used to the economic reality of her new life, but she won’t ever leave Juan and she’ll have to figure out how to improve their financial situation. She wants to know all about Lasagna’s new flame but Lasagna won’t tell her anything. Finally she says “someone you introduced me to.” Then she gets a little psycho. “I’m the happiest woman in the world. Let me tell you something – he hits me!” She says this like saying “he buys me diamonds!” or something. She’s a freak. And not in a good way. Lasagna is off her rocker.
The happy couple and the non-crazy people are talking, they ask the couple about their honeymoon, Miranda thinks they are going to the hacienda but Al says he has a surprise. “Tell me!” “No, then it isn’t a surprise!” Ha ha ha. Then someone asks Gonzalo what he thinks about all this. “what can I say? They already signed the papers.” Ha ha ha some more. Fab shows up and announces that Flor is sleeping and the doctor let him go for a while. Then – “oh Miranda? Why do you look so pretty, it looks like you’re getting married!” “uh yeah, I just did.” Fab is impactado. Miranda gets all kissy face with Alejandro while Fab looks confused some more.
Julio demands an explanation from Mophead, before she can answer Cesar walks in. He goes down the list. “same eyes, same skin…” Julio swears he didn’t know either, Cesar believes him. Then he asks his mother, when were you going to tell? She says she was waiting for the right moment. When that would be, who knows. Cesar said “I was about to kill Julio before. Were you going to tell me after, you killed your father?” Julio agrees with him and says that Gonzalo was right to think so badly of her. They are really letting her have it. They want the whole story and they want it now. She says that when her parents made her marry Javier and leave Julio, he never loved her and she never loved him. Then it turned out Javier was sterile. Everyone asked them when they were going to have kids so they finally decided to have someone else father the kids, they decided on Julio. Julio is pissed at hearing this, of course. “You just used me as a donor? You could at least have told me!”
Fab the idiot confronts Alejandro about Miranda. He says he’s not afraid of Al, but Al says he should be. Fab says Al stole her away from him with his money, deep in her heart she still loves him (Fab). Al tells him that he’s a stupid kid and doesn’t know anything. Al says “you know what? I’m going to forget what you just said but if you say it again there will be trouble.” Fernanda comes up and asks if something happened. Al says “yes. Talk to him and see if you can talk some sense into him.” Fab tells Fern, “What do you think Miranda will say when she finds out about Al’s plans to avenge his father and that you knew about it?”
Daniel and Angel wonder why Julio and Rebeca ran off so fast. They discuss the surprises of all the marriages lately. Miranda approaches and says thank you for coming, I hope we can put behind us all the ugliness from when your father was sick. Daniel says “Yes we can, now that we know that he really was sick.” Miranda bristles. “We told you, do you think we were all making a story and only your other source told the truth?” Daniel says “Well, your father was in jail because of us.” Angel said “Yes, and you got Renata’s husband to help support your story.” They are accusing everyone of putting on a big show just to get back at them. Don’t flatter yourselves boys. So basically they still think that the whole thing was a production. Alejandro walks up. Miranda says “Who told you all this, that we just put you on about Julio being sick?” Daniel says “Cesar.” Angel agrees.
Francisco’s family dreams about having a place as big as the San Llorente house when Gonzalo walks up, introductions all around.
Miranda says it can’t be, Cesar isn’t capable of something like that. Daniel says that anything he says about Gonzalo is because Cesar told them. Miranda obviously doesn’t want to believe Cesar could do that, she’s so dumb sometimes. Al says this proves that Gonzalo was right, Cesar is trying to hurt him. Miranda asks the boys if they have any proof that Cesar told them this, they say no, but that’s how it happened. They say they could never invent that themselves. Al says “See? SEE?” but Miranda won’t believe it and they argue. She says another day they’ll get Cesar and she’ll ask them to repeat what they said, they agree and say that Cesar won’t deny it. She storms off. Al asks if Cesar asked them to do anything else, Daniel says they already told Miranda everything and the boys leave.
Gonzalo asks to speak to Francisco alone. Juan says “I’ll go with you.” I guess he doesn’t understand what alone means. Gonz says no, just your father. They walk away to talk.
Miranda and Alejandro argue some more. The details aren’t important, he believes that Cesar is evil and she thinks he’s a saint. Finally they decide that it’s their wedding day, smile, peace and love.
Fern talks Fab down. He’s all worked up about things and she talks and talks until he calms down. He still thinks Alejandro stole Miranda. Fern tells him that Al has decided not to seek vengeance. That calms him down a bit. He says he’ll talk to Al again to smooth things over. Then he tells Fern about Bertha lying about Germany, saying that she really went to New York.
Mophead says Gonzalo will pay for telling Cesar and Julio the truth. Cesar says no, it was only fair, Mophead was the one who told about Flor not being Gonz’s daughter, now they are even. Julio is furious, “Where was your head, doing all this?” He is holding his hand over his heart like he’s about to have another attack. Daniel and Angel are brought in by the servant. Cesar says how nice, if Fab were here, the whole family would be together. Julio says "Not now!" but Cesar says yes, Pandora’s Box has been opened, let’s get it all out. Angel yells at Julio, “What are you talking about?” Cesar says from this moment forward, he will not allow anyone to yell at his father! The boys are confused, obviously. Julio grabs his left arm, he’s having another heart attack I think. His brilliant trio of sons stands there looking at him like pendejos. Help him you idiots!
Gonzalo tells Francisco that he wouldn’t ever have agreed to the wedding of Renata and Juan; Francisco says they are old enough, what can be done about it? Gonz says they’ll never agree on that since Francisco has sons and Gonz has daughters, they’ll never see that the same way. Gonz says that they need to help the couple, Francisco says how? He has nothing more he can give them. Gonz says he wants them to come live at his house. Francisco is stunned. I’m discovering how often I type that someone is stunned or impactado. That’s the code for switching to another scene. “Ok, we’ll switch by having him look stunned, then go to the other location.”
Fab tries to convince Fern that Bertha killed the doctors in Germany. They plan to investigate further. They are now a team.
Francisco’s family wonders what is going on, Al and Miranda come up to them and offer a toast, Juan decides to find his father. He still doesn’t understand what alone means, I guess. Renata goes with him.
Daira tells Lasagna she’s being a bitch. “At least go congratulate him!” If she can’t shape up, she should go home right now. Lasagna whines “Why do you always take his side?” What a complete whiny bitch. She gets younger and more immature each episode. She sasses back at her mother and insinuates that maybe Alejandro isn’t her brother, but instead her father! Daira slaps her. Now I’m confused, she likes when Cesar hits her, does her mother slapping her turn her on too? Does it confuse her? She’s so wacky now I don’t know what to think. They argue some more, Lasagna says something about forgetting that Daira is her mother and leaves.
Turns out Julio is ok. Why is he ok? Because Mophead said “Calm down, you’re ok.” I think with someone who was in a #$%$#%@# coma from a heart attack not too long ago it might be prudent to get him checked out when his left arm goes numb again. Don’t you think? What the hell is wrong with these people? The boys start in on Julio again, “Why didn’t you tell us?” Mophead says he didn’t know, Cesar says yes that’s true. Things have to change now that they know they are brothers. Daniel says forget it, he’ll never see him as a brother. Cesar says fine, but he intends to make them a family. Julio agrees that they need to move forward as a family. Mophead whines about how she didn’t know how to tell them. Daniel says fine, but I can’t promise anything. Cesar acts glad. I’m sure he has an angle. Cesar tells Daniel that as his older brother he’ll show him things and together they’ll go far. Daniel says “Fine. Tell me though, why did you say that Julio wasn’t really sick and that everyone agreed to pretend he was?” Cesar has no answer as they all look at each other.
Francisco says it isn’t their business where the couple lives, they are a couple, just two people, there isn’t room in a couple for three or four people, they should decide for themselves. Juan and Renata come in, Francisco insists that they were just discussing politics and excuses himself, Juan goes with him. Renata says “What did you say to him? They are treating me very well.” Gonz says because they have to, not because they want to. Gonz asks why she married Juan, just to hurt him (Gonz)? She says no, because she loves Juan, that's why she married him. Gonz says that she belongs in this house, she should stay here. Juan comes and says “Let’s go.” She doesn’t answer and he says “I’m talking to you.” She can’t decide what to do.

La Fea Más Bella #129 10/20/06 Bittersweet
Omar and Marcia continue their conversation. Omar says Fern would never have proposed marriage to Marcia just to get her vote, and he's certainly not using her. Unfortunately he is not making any sort of eye contact with her while he's saying this. She asks Omar if he thinks that Fern really wants to be like him, free and unattached.
Omar says yes... but I wonder if he even believes that himself. He does seem to be aggressively unaware of Fern's feelings for Lety. In any case, his answer comes too easily. Whatever he truly believes, I think he is saying this to Marcia because it's the easy answer - it feeds into one of the things that's been motivating Marcia's fight for Fernando for at least three years. She thinks she is going to cure him of his womanizing ways. I don't know why she thinks this - after three years you'd think she'd know better by now. If she marries him, she'll be marrying the exact same guy who's done nothing but disappoint her for years. Oh well.
But it doesn't matter what Omar thinks right now. Marcia tells him he's wrong about Fern wanting to be unattached like Omar. (If only she knew how right she is!) She asks Omar if he will help her win Fernando back. He gets that mentally constipated look, like there's a ton of conflicting thoughts packed in his head and he desperately needs to squeeze one out.
Was that gross? Sorry.
Marcia nervously awaits the extrusion for about a half a second before she starts grilling him. C'mon, Omar, who's his girlfriend? Tell me tell me tell me tell me! She realizes that he can't betray his friend... yet two seconds later she asks him to swear to her that Fern doesn't have a lover! He tries to deflect the question, but she repeats it. He thinks to himself that he's going to have to pay for this in Purgatory. Um no Omar, Purgatory is for people who have souls, and I'm pretty sure Omar hasn't been able to see his reflection for years and can only be killed by a stake through the heart. He tells Marcia that in fact, lately Fernando's been the most well-behaved Omar has ever seen him.
(If you watch carefully, you can see Marcia blink right now. You might want to write this down on your calendar so you can tell your grandchildren about this someday.) She wants a more concrete timeframe. He says the last few months. She calls him a liar! He answers, "I swear to you, Marcia, there has not been one pretty girl around Fernando." Marcia says "then explain this to me... why hasn't he made love with me?" ZING!!
The unsurprised, blank look on Omar's face says it all. Does she notice? He says he feels her pain, but she really needs to discuss this with Fernando. She says it's been consuming all of her energy and patience. Omar says Fernando has been very busy with work: producing the commercials, preparing for Cannes, the Big Meeting... he's stressed out. Marcia says she hears these excuses when she talks to Fern every night, but her female intuition tells her he's afraid she'll catch him at something (I think that's what she said). Sometimes she feels that her entire life's mission is to marry Fernando. He flippantly says that marriage is not good for anyone. Marcia says something I don't get, and Omar turns away uncomfortably.
This miserable conversation continues over dinner. She says they've been together since birth. Their two families were very close - like one. She, her brother, and her sister were just little kids when their parents died, and they went to live with the Mendiolas and grew up with them. Omar says that Fern is almost like a brother to her. I say, ick, but Marcia said she's loved him ever since. He helped her deal with her parents' death. (Marcia's coral eye shadow is not flattering!) She says he was upset too, because they (her siblings) had invaded his life and robbed him of his parents' love. She felt she needed to protect him and be with him always.
She tells Omar to never forget what she's told him, whenever Fernando talks to him about his lover. Omar gets exasperated and Marcia says talking to him has been a waste of time. I tend to agree. No matter where Omar goes, no matter who he's with, he is the King of Rehash (except that one time with Luigi when he had to pee). He is not the guy to talk to if you actually want to make some progress. Poor guy! Augustin Arana deserves some type of reward for having to do so much talking with so little reward (other than snorting and drooling at hot chicks).
Marcia says we're leaving tomorrow; she's going back to the hotel. She leaves Omar alone at the bar. He says to himself, "Fernando... to think you're going to marry that stubborn stupid wild animal. Poor you, really!"
Later, Marcia and Omar meet with Luigi. She tells him he can't go back to Mexico yet. He says nonsense, he can give detailed instructions to the cameraman and all will be fine. Marcia disagrees, but Luigi says she's the executive, so she should be the one to stay behind in Germany to supervise things. Omar wants to know why is Luigi in such a hurry to go home? Luigi reminds them of the 90-second conversation they had a few months ago about him doing something for a benefit show with Yuri, the Mexican pop star. He says he's not eager to leave his boyfriend alone in Germany with all these futbol players, but... he puts on some attitude and it looks like Marcia is going to give in and agree to stay in Mexico even longer.
Meanwhile, back in Cuernevaca...
Lety and Fern are making out in broad daylight when Ariel approaches, arguing loudly with his neglected chickie-doodle who wants to know why he bothered bringing her here. I don't see a ring on her hand so she's not his wife, though I did see a ring on him recently. Maybe Ariel's wife is dead. Heh, he probably killed her. I'm hoping this guy ends up in jail so why not have him be a murderer, that's what I say. Or maybe she killed herself. I know I would. She married a guy who was named after a mermaid, for crying out loud. I'm sorry to say that I'm starting to develop a crush on him as well as Omar. Nothing (other than a big bucket of money) would make me happier than to see the two of them wrestle in their underwear. DO YOU HEAR ME, ROSY OCAMPO? I WANT TO SEE OMAR AND ARIEL WRESTLE ONE ANOTHER IN THEIR UNDEROOS.
Fern and Lety are too absorbed in their kiss to hear him; Ariel is so distracted by his anger that when he pointedly turns away from his date, he looks right through them. (Or perhaps he is only pretending not to see them!)
A moment later, however, they recognize his voice (still yelling at the little woman), saying did she really think he was going to ditch his business interests for her. They hide so he can't see them. She asks again why did he bring her here, and he says he doesn't know, she's right - they're going. He's got some things to attend to in the city now. She complains that she feels used, and Ariel says "that's your problem, not mine." He loudly announces to an attendant that he wants to leave.
Lety says "I told you I saw him!" and they argue briefly about that. :-) They are relieved - they know for sure he's not going to be around now, so they don't have to worry about running into him for the rest of the weekend.
Great! That means they can get busy now, right?
Wrong! My goodness no, they are decent people. They are not animals. They still have plenty of time left this weekend. There's no hurry. I mean, who the hell needs sex anyway. They've already been together a whole two times, why be greedy about it? The only thing they are getting busy with now is their lunch and Lety's worries. Fern wants Lety to forget about Ariel and her fear of getting caught, but she has difficulty with this and can't stop thinking about how Ariel is Marcia's brother and doom and gloom, end of the world. Next worry: he said he was going to break it off with Marcia when she gets back from Germany, right? He says right, that's what I said I'm going to do. Lety asks, what next? We still won't be able to bring our relationship out into the open, we'll have to hide it, and she doesn't want to feel guilty about that, about being the "other woman." And she thinks she doesn't deserve this happiness.
Fern protests, but she cuts him off. "Look at me. Look at what you have." She says she doesn't understand why he is interested in her. He says she is delightful. She answers that she is ugly. She raises her voice and says she's very ugly, always has been. He tells her he doesn't like it when she talks this way. She says she doesn't feel like she's delightful; right now she is full of guilt. She won't even be able to look her parents in the eye. They are so good and honest.
He tells her he's the only guilty one. He's a lying jerk. But Lety is not so easily deterred from her self-loathing; she moves on to her next sore point, Marcia. They're hurting Marcia. She's going to be so hurt when he breaks up with her. But, Lety says, their love is bigger than his engagement to Marcia... right?
He says yes, it's much bigger. She finally cracks a tiny smile at him. But then she goes back to her worries. His parents are not going to be happy with him if he dumps Marcia for the likes of Lety. Plus, she doesn't fit into his world. He doesn't know what she means. She says her parents are modest and simple - can Fern imagine her parents chatting with his? He says that her parents are much more honorable than a lot of the folks she is referring to. She agrees with him, and he is slightly miffed. She adds that she thinks she is not the woman he can be with. He rolls his eyes in frustration.
He talks about his childhood - his decades-long rivalry with Ariel, and the death of senior Villaroels. He says Marcia cried a lot, and he consoled her, but he was upset too because his own life was changing so much. The kids were heartbroken and his parents tried to make up for their loss. Up to that point, he had been accustomed to getting all of his parents' attention; when Marcia & co. showed up, he had to share.
He tells Lety about a particularly memorable party. (Cue flashback music)
The littlest mermaid - looking a smidge imperious even at the ripe old age of nine or so - is waiting impatiently for his remodeled family to finish singing a happy saint's day song around a cake. Teresita says "and now the gifts!" Humberto brings in a bitchin' new bike. Some of the kids flock around it in admiration, but Fern remains at the table, sulking, and Marcia appears to be keeping him company. The grownups discreetly exchange meaningful looks, and Humberto pulls Fern aside and asks him what's wrong. Fern says he wants a bike like that. Humberto says he'll get one on his birthday. Fern says he already had his birthday - is he going to have to wait a whole 'nother year? Will they buy him one tomorrow? Teresita shakes her head sadly and Humberto wags his finger. Fern wants to know why. Humberto says it's Ariel's birthday and he's not going to treat him differently. Then Ariel wants to play with Fern's favorite toy car, and Humberto makes him share. He actually takes the car out of Fern's hands and gives it to Ariel. Ariel starts shouting that he has a new present!
Young Fern whines and points out that he is his son. Humberto says yes you are, and I adore you, but now you have to share with the Villaroels because they've lost their parents. They have to make a family with them.
Teresita, wearing one of the shoulder-padded monstrosities of the mid-to-late 80s, agrees with him. Humberto tells Fern to go and have fun. Fern yells that they don't love him, and runs out of the room. Marcia follows.
Back in 2006, Fern says his parents were right, but he was so young and didn't understand. Lety tenderly wipes a tear from his face. The flashback continues.
Young Fern stomps into his bedroom, which is the size of the Padillas' entire downstairs, and slams the door. Marcia pounds on the door, saying she wants to be with him, but he yells at her to leave him alone. He says to himself, "I'm going to show my parents that I'm better than Ariel. He's not going to get anything else over me. Nothing!"
Fern tells Lety that this was the beginning of their rivalry. Lety takes Fernando's hand. He says (I think) that Marcia was clingy and needy and wouldn't leave him alone. Lety asks, how did he come to be her boyfriend? He says that as the years passed, she became very attractive, and he started to fall in love with her.
He says he's never discussed this with anyone before. He tells Lety to forget all of it!
It's nighttime. They drink a toast. They look at one another in their pajamas and think to themselves how wonderful it is to be together. He thinks about how her beauty fills his soul when he feels empty. He kisses her. ("Besame" again.) Yay! Finally! They kiss some more. In the next shot, they're nude. Wow! Magic!
They can get busy now, right?
Wrong!! Because Lety is crying. We can't do this. Not until... until he breaks up with Marcia. So they don't have to hide, she won't feel guilty, and can love him openly.
After the commercial break, they are dressed again. She says he's not going to love her. He says he loves her a lot. She asks him why. He says he knows it was difficult for her to turn him down. She agrees that it was, in such a special, perfect moment with so much desire. He says yes, with so much desire and so much love. She talks some more about guilt. Getting back to his answer why, he says she gave up all that passion in favor of her spirit.
She tells him her love for him is eternal; it is bigger than she is. He says that their love is very big; with her, he feels a very special, sincere kind of love, that he never thought he would feel. She says she loves him. They hug. ("Aqui Estaré" again. Snif!)
Fern falls asleep on the sofa. Lety falls asleep on the loveseat.
Caray! That's no fun, is it?
Psych!! Sucker!! They fooled me! They fooled you! They fooled us all!!! They totally do it in the pool!
Okay, it's a dream, but at this point I will take what I can get.
In their dreams, they meet in the pool. Lety has her glasses off and can swim. They are kissing, swimming underwater, their bodies are glowing...
Excuse me. I have something in my eye. I think it's the song.
The next morning, Fern wakes to see the bed still empty. He finds Lety sleeping on the loveseat and says nice things to her even though she can't hear him. He wakes her. They are in awe that they've had the same dream. She says she loves him. They kiss a bit but I guess they decide to leave it at that.
Fern gets home in a good mood, delighted with all that has happened. The phone immediately begins to ring. It's Omar. He accuses Fern of disappearing all weekend. Fern says yes, he escaped into another dimension of his life. He wants to tell Omar how wonderful and special it was, but Omar doesn't want to hear all this mushy stuff about the gargolita, he's worried about saving the business. Fern says don't worry about that, everything's fine with Lety, and he doesn't want to spend his Sunday talking about Conceptos. Omar tells him that Marcia told him all about that saint's day party and made it very clear that she's terrified of losing him. Fernando doesn't want to talk about it.
Fern sits in the chair by his bedroom window and looks out over the fabulous lawn. He remembers the look on Lety's face when he said he'd break up with Marcia. He thinks about how peaceful and happy he feels when he's with Lety. He would love to break up with Marcia and be with Lety. He picks up the phone and calls for Lety, but she's not there (she's at church; more on that later). He remembers the day of Luigi's Bella Life jewelry presentation, when Ariel threatens to take over Conceptos and dissolve the company if Fern and Marcia don't get married. Then he remembers when his parents were leaving for London; he and Marcia had been fighting, and his mother insisted that they make up before she left; she adds, "next time I see you, you'll be at the altar!"
In another flashback, he remembers how happy Marcia was when he agreed to set a date. He says to himself, "Lety, reality takes precedence. I can't cancel my wedding with Marcia, and I can't let my parents down - not with the wedding and not with the business."
Omar calls after his conversation with Luigi and mentions the Yuri thing. Fern says Luigi also needs to come back and work on the jewelry campaign for Bella Life. He wants to talk about how overwhelmed he feels about Ariel, and his parents, and the wedding, and Marcia, and feelings... he thinks he needs to make Marcia happy, because she's a little bit upset with him.
Omar says it's not just a little. She thinks they were born to be together, though, so he should be able to cheer her up within a few days (something like that). He just needs to get her a really great gift. Fern needs suggestions. What, phone calls, flowers? Omar says his imagination is too small. Fern says fine, I don't have the patience for this, why don't you come up with something. Omar just laughs.
RoboPop complains that it is Sunday and Lety's still not here. Lety gets home and cheerfully refuses to answer her parents' questions, saying only that she had a great time. She goes up to her room and works on a painting of some flowers. RoboPop complains some more, but Mom is just glad to see Lety so happy.
Lety talks to her painting instead of writing in her diary. Maybe the batteries in her light-up pen ran out. She rehashes the exciting events of the weekend and how wonderful it was. She loves him more than ever.
Mom comes up and says she's glad to see Lety so happy, and that it's time to go to church. (Lety is still wearing Friday's clothes. She did have time to change them before church.)
At the end of the mass, Lety turns around, which I was very firmly told not to do as a child, and recognizes some man in red who Amanda tells me is a popular TV psychic. She quickly faces forward, her face contorted in panic, but catches his eye guiltily on her way out. She and her parents approach a woman who is selling religious figurines nearby. Lety sees one that she'd like to have for her office, but suddenly gets spooked and wants to go home. As she rushes away empty-handed, she says something to herself like when she's free of guilt she can have a St. Judas for her office. I'm wondering, is she referring to St. Jude, the patron saint of lost causes?
She looks up, and the man in red is standing there holding the figurine. He says, "take it, woman. You are going to lose a lot."
Find some time this weekend to stock up on Kleenex and ice cream. A few pounds of each should suffice. At least to get you through Monday.

Mundo de Fieras - Friday 10/20/06
Dolorous Dolores appears out of nowhere in Miriam’s office. Miriam, Ingrid and Jos are shocked to see her there, out of prison, and dressed as a nun, to boot. Dolores makes it clear she’s been let go from an unjust sentence, and she’s returned to regain the love and affection of her brother’s only child, Karen, and to prove her innocence. Of course, Dolores defends herself against the label of murderer. Miriam and Jos barrage her with insults, reminding Edgar’s sister that as far as society and the law are concerned, she is still a murderess and that is that! Miriam then bursts Dolores' balloon by admitting Karen has never been told there even is an Aunt Dolores. As Jos (oh so tearfully) explains, “Why would anybody want to admit to a child that her aunt is in jail, serving a life sentence for murdering her daddy?” They hiss "murderess" at her and blame her solely for Edgar’s death and claim she is responsable for all the pain and suffering the family had to survive afterward.
In the meantime, Sylvestre nearly runs over Aurora as she’s trying to escape from the police. Apparently, being hungry after walking aimlessly through the streets for who knows how long, she took some food from a street vendor and did not pay for it. Scared, she runs into the street and BAM!
Leo brings the priest at a nearby parish some drugs to use for the children at the orphanage he deals with.
Gabe is pining away in his office over Mariangela when Nicolas comes in. During their chat Nico admits to him that each day he is more attracted to her.
Sylvestre tries to help the lady he hit (Aurora) and take her home, figuring that she’s not so badly hurt. After a bit it is evident that she has a bit of a memory loss and is disoriented, so he goes looking for Leo to examine her. When he pulls up to the taxi-stand, Mayeya recognizes her and explains that this is Mariangela’s missing mother. They try to locate Leo to look her over.
Gabe and Leo meet up outside Candelaria’s house and Leo warns him off Mariangela. Leo says he intends to marry her; he admits he’ll have to fight for her but in time she’ll come to appreciate him; and despite the fact that his mother has worked for Gabe all this time, if Gabe tries to take advantage of Mariangela’s affections, he’ll have to deal with Leo. Gabe nods.
Paulina prays to the Virgencita over JC and waits to see what Padre Anselmo says. JC comes home and determines the best thing to do is to forget Paulina and go away somewhere. He still is thinking about the supposed betrayal and simply can’t believe his mother was such a fiend.
Demento Demian enters Regina’s hospital room and while she’s asleep he tells her that he’s going to make her son and everyone around her despise and reject her as she’s done to him. In his maniacal manner he says that when there is nobody left to care about her then she’ll have no choice but to run to his arms and seek refuge in them. Then she will come to love him as much as he loves her. He bends down to kiss her and she calls out to Gabriel. This of course enrages Demian and he swears to destroy his brother and everything he holds dear.
Karen and Tiberio get together and she brags that she told Demian all about Pau and JC and he’ll be taking care of it all. Tiberio laughs and brags that Demian always does what he says, always. They go out then together and have a goofy-great time. (Now just what are the ages of these two again?)
Leo looks over Aurora and she screams in front of Candy, her daughter, and the others that she just wants to go home. They decide to have her stay at Candy’s for a while with Mariangela.
Miriam and Jos figure they can manage Dolores and that they’ll have to, otherwise she’ll find out it was really they who killed Edgar. Miriam is guessing that despite Dolores’s threats, underneath that nun’s robes, she is scared to death.
At the nun’s chapel Dolores tells the Mother Superior that she is correct to pursue her son and niece, but that she must be very careful with every step she takes or she’ll lose the both of them.
Gabe is still pining away and must admit to himself that Leo and Nico are both free men and Mariangela is free as well to follow after love. He on the other hand is stuck with the likes of Jos. To make matters worse, Nico comes in and hints that he’s thinking of trying it out with Mariangela.
Elsa comes back home and finds Aurora as well as Mariangela are now houseguests. Candy comes out of the bedroom and Elsa goes into a fit and tells off her momma and selfishly accuses her of caring more about these strangers than her own family.
Later, Jos and Miriam see Nico as he’s leaving the manse and he asks for permission to visit with Mariangela and perhaps go out with her. Miriam and Jos are secretly delighted and agree to this immediately.
Leo takes a pregnant woman as a fare in his cab but she goes into labor before they reach the hospital. Leo has to deliver the baby in the back seat. The woman is greatful and wants him to be a copadre.
Mariangela is outside of Candy’s house on her way to the market when out of the shadows Remigio jumps her and demands she pay him her debt. She says she still hasn’t got the money and of course he tries to force her to pay it off the old-fashioned way. So he attempts to rape her again. Just at that moment Gabe arrives, supposedly worried for her and her mother. He pulls Remigio off Mariangela but Remigio pulls a knife and cuts Gabe on the arm, warns them he’ll be back to collect one way or another and runs off. Mariangela and Gabe lock eyes as he admits he really just had to see her. They are just about to kiss but Leo arrives and purposely calls out to the two of them, rudely intruding, (Darn!!) and destroying this magical moment. (Watching Cesar Evora make moves on a woman is always magical, but I digress.)
Little Lui tells his momma that Leo has intentions towards Mariangela and she is glad to hear it.
Leo scowls, but the doctor in him kicks in again, and he gets Gabe inside and tends to his cut arm.
Clemente tells Miriam he’s thinking of possibly moving out and getting a place so that Mariangela will have somewhere to live. Miriam plays hurt and asks how he could think of abandoning his other daughter. He says he’s not abandoning Jos, but she does have Miriam and always counts on her for help, besides she seems most like Miriam. (Hmm....Oh well....)and he walks out the door.
Candy explains to Gabe in her little kitchen that Remigio was there to collect a debt from Mariangela. Gabe offers to pay it but Leo objects and says he’ll pay it. Mariangela says thanks but no thanks to them both, and she will be the one to pay off her debt . As she walks Gabe out they discuss Aurora’s possibly returning to the clinic and how Leo should advise her. He also mentions that Leo told him clearly of his intent to marry her. She’s surprised and when she goes back into the house she lets Leo know that she likes him only as a friend (the kiss of death for a guy!) and isn’t in the least bit attracted to him. She has no intention of marrying him. She’ll decide who she marries and when.
Demian finally returns home and finds JC moping on the stairs. Demian tells him he wants to make up for all the harsh treatment and JC admits he might have been a bit judgemental towards him. Paulina keeps calling him but he refuses to answer his cell. He doesn't want to deal with the horror of their situation. JC and Demian agree to act decently towards one another and hug. Tiberio returns to the house and is about to enter the room when he overhears this conversation from behind the door in the hallway. (He is no longer such a happy camper.)
Gabe drives back home and then sits in his office, upset at himself for his funky mood. He thinks back to the dinner his wife prepared for him and how ungrateful he was towards her. He agrees that his wife was right and he should give the marriage another try. He’ll always feel guilty if he doesn’t at least make one last effort to save it.

Mundo--Thursday, October 19
Jocelyn continues her attempted seduction of Gabriel. He stumbles out and then she starts caressing the table and thinks to herself there must be another woman.
JC is with Karen at the hospital. She starts needling him about Paulina. She ‘apologizes’ for her behavior in Barcelona.
Leo and Mari are giggling (well Leo is—Mari just looks like she’s trying to be polite). In the background we see Elsa sneaking back to the house.
Paulina is crying on her bed, telling herself that she can’t imagine seeing JC with another woman.
Simultaneously, JC is thinking that he’s can’t and, moreover, doesn’t want to give Paulina up. He runs his hands through his hair.
Demian visits with the motorcycle guy, Coyote, we saw earlier and lets him know he gets one chance to get jobs done right and the consequences are pretty serious. (Okay this is funny, because this guy’s name really is Coyote---I didn’t know that when I made the Wile E Coyote comment).
Jocelyn & Miriam are having breakfast. Miriam is criticizing Jocelyn. Jocelyn returns the favor, telling her she’s a wonderful professional, but a terrible mother who never showed any affection (I thought this was what therapy was for). Miriam falls back to the usual line…but I did it all for you and to give you a great life, besides who are you to talk…you’re so obsessed with Gabe you don’t give your kids any attention either. Oh, Jocelyn adds, that--that’s your fault too. Well, Miriam’s had just about enough and tells her that she has no idea what she (Miriam) has done in her life to get to where she is now. Miriam continues, She has one life and she’s not going to miss out on anything, nor does she have any regrets. Her final motherly advice is: If you are intelligent, you would do the same. She stomps off.
Candelaria and Mari are doing laundry with a bunch of other ladies, we hear mariachis and everyone else is calling out funny comments…just your typical day of laundry. Leo comes up and gives her some flowers (he has the goofiest look on his face, so you know he’s going to get his little heart broken). They receive news about the big explosion that killed Chacal.
Miriam has stormed back to her room. Muttering to herself about taking care of the situation right now, she gets something out of the safe.
Karen is turning her claws to Paulina. She tells her about seeing JC and that she really likes him (ugh) and she knows Paulina will understand. As a “peace offering” she invites Paulina out so they can become better friends.
Jocelyn has returned to her room and is thinking about her mom’s advice. Miriam has come in to “make peace”. She gives Jocelyn a diamond necklace and reminds her that aside from being mother and daughter they are also friends and share a lot of secrets. Jocelyn leaves the box open on the dresser and Karen spies it and tries it on.
Gabriel and Demian discuss JC & Paulina. Demian will never allow this relationship, but since Gabe knows the truth about Paulina, it doesn’t bother him quite as much. Demian shares his suspicions about Gabe being JC’s dad and Gabe can’t believe that D would talk about Regina like that since she’s such a great woman. Demian ends the conversation saying he doesn’t want Paulina anywhere near JC.
Karen’s plans come to fruition. She is with JC at a restaurant and in walks Paulina, not know that JC is going to be there. They are sitting uncomfortably and JC decides to leave…he hadn’t know that Paulina was coming. Karen pretends she doesn’t know what’s wrong…they are cousins, after all, and should become friends. JC leaves, telling Paulina that he loves her. Karen tells Paulina that she had the ‘best intentions.’ The waiter delivers a note and rose from JC. JC & Paulina kiss, Karen stomps off. JC suggests that they run away, Paulina’s not so sure. Things are looking happy, JC goes to visit his mom.
Miriam is at work and has now hired Giorgio to be both a model and her personal assistant. She promises him a great future. Elsewhere, Soraya sees the TV interview and realizes that that’s her son…Jorge.
Jocelyn finally finishes her preparations, goes to put on her diamond necklace and notices that it has gone missing. Uh oh. She accuses Mari and tells her to leave the house. Luisito starts up with his whining. Gabriel walks in and dismisses the accusation against Mari. Luisito looks at him with adoration. Gabriel suspects that Jocelyn set this “theft” up to try and get rid of Mari.
At the Alzheimer’s home, Clemente & Aurora are chatting outside. Clemente is telling her their story. We see flashbacks of them young and in love. Aurora is happy.
We see Karen stewing in her car, promising to separate JC & Paulina. She goes to visit Regina and meets up with Sr. Dolores who realizes who she is. Karen, of course, is clueless and still twirling her hair. Rogelio shows up and also asks to Regina. It’s not possible for either one to see her so they start chatting and go to have some coffee. Dolores is happy-her son and her niece—cousins (that’s a nice symmetry).
Jorge’s mom is telling someone how excited she is to have found him. Miriam is showing Giorgio the ropes at the office.
Back at the Alzheimer’s place, Aurora has fallen asleep and when she wakes up is disoriented. She wants to go to her house and heads for the wall. We see her wandering around. The hospital staff has noticed she is missing….the doctor is chastising everyone.
The maids are tearing the house apart in search of the necklace. Jocelyn tells Gabriel that she called the police. Karen calls and tells them she has the necklace. Gabe doesn’t even have to say I told you so. He makes Jocelyn tell the police that the necklace was found and wants her to apologize to Mari. Like a five-year old child, Gabe leads her to Mari and says…we are waiting…she apologizes. Mari receives the phone call about her mother’s disappearance.
In the hospital cafeteria, Rogelio & Karen are having their coffee. Rogelio is leering and Karen is twirling. They plan to tell Demian everything about JC.
Leo is telling JC that Regina is better and just needs to stay calm. JC says that’s unlikely in his house with Demian. For some weird reason, Leo tells the story of being abandoned at birth…
Jocelyn goes to Miriam’s office to update her on Jocelyn’s really bad day. Jocelyn is excited that Mari is suffering because of her missing mother. Miriam invites her to work with her but Jos isn’t sure, since that would leave Mari ‘in charge’ at home.
In assorted ‘set-ups’ for tomorrow: Gabe, Mari & the assistant look for Aurora. Demian & Karen meet. Paulina prays. Dolores shows up at Miriam’s office. Demian tells JC that he and Paulina aren’t cousins, they’re siblings.

La Fea Más Bella #128 10/19/06 We'll always have Cuernavaca...
Erasmo chooses some lighter drinking fare and drinks an orange juice. Julieta serves pancakes. He gives them to Tomas. Julieta says that Erasmo knows that she makes hotcakes on Saturdays. (Love the way she says hotcakes!) Tomas tells her that Erasmo is a little hung-over. She asks what that has to do with the hotcakes. Tomas tries to explain. They pass the pancakes back and forth between Tomas and Erasmo. Erasmo says that he wants some chilaquiles or some eggs with salsa ranchero. No, hotcakes, with lots of syrup. Tomas takes some pastries and walks out of the house. Tomas thinks it would be better for him to stay home this weekend. Julieta force feeds Erasmo. She talks about how rich they are. Erasmo squishes his face.
Fernando tells Lety that her joke was in poor taste. Lety tells Fernando that she really saw Ariel walk by, but she may have been mistaken. Fernando asks if Ariel saw them. No, he just passed by, and I may have been mistaken. The waiter brings them some fruit. They realize that they’ve never had breakfast together.
Omar and Marcia are walking together, but she wishes she had better company. He asks why she’s so concerned with Fernando when they’re in Munich! She says it would be impossible for her to stop thinking about him that Omar cannot possibly understand. Of course not, you’re being absurd! Marcia tells Omar that she doesn’t want to talk to him about Fernando. Omar says she should because he’s an expert when it comes to Fernando. Yeah, because you’re his witch-doctor! (Loving Marcia in this moment!) Marcia asks him to speak with complete honesty while looking her in the eyes, will Fernando marry her? Omar dances around the question. That’s exactly what she expected.
Meanwhile, Fernando goes on about how they’re going to forget about Marcia and everything else. Fernando wants to take Lety to a clothing store, since they didn’t bring any clothes. Lety says that she likes the clothing, but they’re not very fitting for her. They’re very fine material and she’s sure they’ll be expensive. Fernando says not to worry because he’ll buy them for her as gift. She doesn’t want to let him. She’s worried, she needs to call her parents. Fernando makes her repeat a promise to forget about everything outside of Cuernavaca. (During this incredible and marvelous weekend, I promise to forget everything.) Fernando reminds her that if she calls her house, she’ll be in trouble with Erasmo and he’ll want her to return immediately. She acquiesces resolves to forget. He rewards her with some kisses.
Erasmo stares at a picture of Lety. He says that if he knew where she was, he would go for her immediately. Julieta prays to the virgin for protection for Lety. Underneath the picture and candles is the cake topper from Erasmo and Julieta’s wedding.
Fernando and Lety look at some clothing. Fernando mentions that they need bathing suits. The saleswoman brings a bathing suit for Lety. Lety doesn’t want to try it on, but Fernando convinces her. After she walks into the dressing room, Fernando asks if they have anything more discreet. The saleswomen says that’s the most discreet that they have. Lety stands in the dressing room with the suit over her clothes. She says she can’t put the suit on. Everyone else will have beautiful bodies, and then they’re will be her. It’s impossible for her to put it on. Fernando knocks on the door and asks how it’s going. She asks him to wait. Lety begins to cry. She forgot who she is. “Lety, the ugly one!” She practically shouts several times. Fernando overhears her and asks if she’s okay. She lies and says she’s fine, but he does not look convinced.
Lety and Fernando have changed outfits. Lety really likes the clothing; she feels like a different person. Fernando says he has a pamphlet for the activities of the resort. There is a lot of activities. Lety asks if she can tell him something, he looks very nice in white. He kisses her and says that she looks very nice in white as well. They sit and talk about what activities they should try. He wants to balance energies, but Lety says she’s balanced already. What about a massage with five hands? Lety doesn’t want to be touched. Fernando comes up with an activity. She looks at him out of the corner of her eye. What will it be methinks.
Omar and Marcia are also looking at a pamphlet. Omar goes on about some castle, but Marcia doesn’t want to here it. Omar repeats that they’re in Europe and should enjoy it. Marcia says she’ll enjoy it how she wants. Omar says the only thing she ever thinks about is Fernando.
Fernando and Lety try a meditation exercise. Lety waves away the smoke and tries to look serious. Fernando whispers and asks if Lety knows what it is to silence their thoughts. Lety hushes him, and says not really. Fernando looks around at everyone else.
Marcia and Omar go on about Marcia’s jealousy. She says it’s like a torture; he tells her not to exaggerate. She says all of her problems have been because of Fernando’s lovers. Omar pokes fun at Marcia, asking if all the women of the world disappeared would she and Fernando be happy. Marcia does not laugh. She tries to get Omar to confess that Fernando is in love with someone else. Omar says that Fernando is not in love with anyone. Even me? (Nice, Omar) Marcia says that Fernando rejects her every night lately. Marcia gives another speech about her lousy relationship.
The meditation continues. Lety whispers to Fernando, but he’s sleeping. Fernando snores. The meditation guy looks upset. Fernando wakes up, making Lety laugh.
Marcia tells Omar that he’s never been in love, all of his relationships are casual. He’s never taken the time to know somebody that well. Omar says that women always want commitments. Marcia says its because needs to establish a family and have kids. Omar says that he’s free, unlike her. Nobody deceives him or kills his dreams. Marcia says Omar can do with his life what he likes, but she has a life with Fernando. She tells Omar to leave them alone, in peace.
Fernando and Lety were thrown out of the meditation seminar. Fernando doesn’t understand how something that’s supposed to be so relaxing can be so much work. Lety makes a joke and Fernando thinks she’s calling him neurotic. He says he has a cure for neurosis. They run through the resort and come to an outdoor theatre. She stands in the middle of the stage. She once acted a role, Alicia in the Marvelous Country. Her mom helped her study and made her costume. The teacher accepted that she would play the lead role, but she overheard the director say that she couldn’t play Alicia because she wasn’t marvelous and was very ugly. Fernando apologizes and tells her that the director was a fool, she is marvelous. Lety decides to sing him a song from the play. He tries to stop her, but she insists. It starts out really weak, but turns out okay. (Just so you know, this is Aqui Estare, one of Angelica Vale’s songs). Fernando applauses and says he never knew she could sing so well. She tells Fernando it’s his turn. He says he doesn’t know how to act, dance or sing – the time with the megtron was very impulsive. He goes to the middle after some convincing and says that he was in a play once. They play charades to guess which play it was. She can’t get it and guesses Pinocchio and Peter Pan. Nope, El Soldito de Plomo. He hops around on one leg. They kiss in the middle. Not twenty feet away Ariel makes out with his girlfriend…wife…girlfriend Ariel’s cell phone rings and they leave. Fernando and Lety almost follow, but she wants to go the other direction.
Omar and Marcia stand next a lake, near an artist. Omar asks if she really wants to know if Fernando wants to marry her. She’s not so enthusiastic. He talks to her about how she and Fernando grew up together. His parents have wanted this wedding for a long time. It will be an union between the Villaroels and Mendiolas of Conceptos. She asks him if he’s saying that her marriage is basically a business arrangement.
Fernando and Lety decide to try a martial art. Lety does a roll instead of a flip. She hurts her head and can’t move. Ariel stands behind them, still talking on the phone.
Marcia tells Omar that Ariel suggested that Fernando proposed to her to secure her vote for the presidency of Conceptos. She asks if Omar can confirm her brother’s suspicions Omar looks over the water.
Fernando helps Lety up from the ground. The master demonstrates another flip. Fernando excuses himself and Lety saying that he has a bad back. They walk away and class continues.
Ariel and his woman pass the martial arts class. He’s going on about business and money. He’s losing a lot of money! The woman wants him to stop talking about business. He’s complains about Fernando and the upcoming big meeting. The girl insists he get of the phone. She says she’s going to go have fun by herself. He gets back on the phone and walks away from her.
Next Lety and Fern and try and Indian cleansing ceremony. The Indian guy asks Lety to take off her robe. Lety says she’ll do it inside. Fernando gets steamed and walks past. Ariel and his woman look on at the events. She wants to participate so Ariel asks if they can come into the ceremony. The Indian tells him that, unfortunately, the ceremony is full. The phone rings again. Lety and Fernando sit in the steam room. Fernando says that this ceremony doesn’t only cleanse the body, but the spirit. Lety says she’s afraid. Fernando says that this ceremony is perfect for her. It will purify her. He asks her to take off the bathrobe. She does. An Indian in the dark says that this is a rebirth. Lety and Fernando hold hands. Fernando begins to hyperventilate. (It took me a moment to figure out what that sound was.) The Indian man says it’s time to lose their pride, lies, envy and other bad things. Fernando can’t breath and passes out. He yells and runs out. Lety follows, bathrobe back on. Fernando doesn’t understand, this is the seventh time he’s done this ceremony and every time he does it this same thing happens, he asfixiates. They walk to a new location. Ariel and his chick walk by again right after they’ve left. Ariel’s phone rings. He asks the person on the line to call him tomorrow, but the person says something interesting about money that makes Ariel listen and stalk off.
Marcia asks why Omar doesn’t want to answer her. She asks him again if Fernando proposed in order to not lose Conceptos. Omar walks away. My heart broke a little when I saw Marcia’s reaction. Omar remembers a conversation he had with Fernando about marrying Marcia and maintaining a relationship with Lety to preserve the company. Omar tells Marcia that Ariel is filling her head with doubts. Omar says that Fernando is not capable of doing what she’s accusing, but he can’t look her in the eye. She has another question. Does Fernando want to live like him, Omar, free and without commitment? Silence.
Fernando asks why Lety won’t swim. She says she doesn’t like to be in her bathing suit, but she has her feet in the pool. Fernando jumps into the pool. Ariel walks behind Lety, but doesn’t recognize her. Fernando waves for Lety to come in. Lety protests that she doesn’t know how to swim. He says it’s shallow. She stills afraid. He swims over to her, but changes his mind and goes into the pool. Later in the evening, Fernando walks and tells Lety how happy he is. All of his happiness is thanks to her. They stop on the deck of the resort and kiss. Ariel walks onto the porch arguing with his woman. He looks directly at Lety and Fernando.
Was it a trick of the camera? Are Fernando and Lety really caught?
Happiness never lasts; is it over for our happy couple?
Will Marcia ever move on from Fernando and find a guy who really loves her?

Miranda gets ready with Charo's help and recalls the day Alejandro kissed her and said she would one day yell that she loves him and she says he was right. He walks up behind her and kisses her giving her a necklace saying he couldn't get her the stars so he got her diamonds instead. Nuria and Cesar are married in a civil ceremony, when the judge pronounces them husband and wife, he barely kisses her and turns around and shakes the wittnesses hands. When Nuria asks him what she should do now, if bring her stuff to his a partment he throws one of his hissy fits and theathens to take away the baby and take him far away if she does not do as he says(he is such an ass)as he threatens not to tell anyone they're married. Florencia asks Fabricio for Berta and wonders if she's in Germany. Gonzalo learns that Vicente has found proof against Cesar.
Cesar arrives at the gathering and finds Lizania at the entrance.Lizania tells him she has been calling him but he has his cell phone off, she tells him they're waiting for the bride, that Miranda and Alejandro are getting married. At that moment Miranda appears at the top of the stairs, and Alejandro has this huge smile and is waiting for her along with all the other guests at the bottom of the stairs.
This was a very good episode and so are the next 4. today's episodes brought back memories of our visit it was so exciting to watch those scenes after actually having been right at those steps, a have a lot of pictures taken on those steps or by them. I wish I knew hoew to post them here.

Mundo de Fieras, Wed. Oct
Gabriel stalks off when he sees Leo and MA kiss. MA finally pulls away from Leo [for an unwelcome kiss, she certainly let it go on a long time] and tells him that he is a nice guy but she doesn’t love him. He is crushed. With tears running down his cheeks, he tells MA that he is sure that if she gave him a chance, he could make her love him.
When Demian finds out that Paulina is Gabriel’s daughter, they yell at each other and Paulina leaves. JC goes after her and they have the same conversation again except that this time Paulina says that they can never be together not only because they are first cousins but because their fathers are mortal enemies.
Regina calls Gabriel from the hospital. He says that he hopes she is better. He can’t go to the hospital anymore because of Demian but he hopes that she knows she can always count on him. After the call, Regina has a thought bubble with music – she continues to love Gabriel with all her heart.
Leo first asks MA if she thinks he is not good enough for her love. Of course not, she responds. Leo then asks MA if she loves another and her answer is forestalled by the arrival of Luisito. Leo tells Luisito that MA won’t accept him as her novio and asks Luisito to help him with his suit [gag].
In a really lame scene, Rogelio taunts Tiberio about being illegitimate and having no chance to inherit Demian’s empire, which will go to JC. [There is definitely something extremely weird about the actor who plays Tiberio. He acts like he is playing a robot with the strange facial expressions and jerky body movements.]
JC tells Regina that he prayed to the Virgin for her to recover. Regina sees sadness in her son’s eyes and he tells her that he has fallen in love with daughter of his father’s brother. Regina is impactada. JC tells her that he knows he must renounce his love for Paulina but he doesn’t want to.
Gabriel has a fantasy about marrying MA but then he remembers that he is married and she is free to do whatever she wants. Nicolas comes in. He has concluded that it was Demian who ordered an explosive to be put in Gabriel’s car. Nicolas says that Demian is crazy – crazy with ambition, hate and jealousy. Nicolas says that he will find out who set the bomb and bring them to justice. At this point, MA comes in with two cups of coffee. It looks like MA has made another conquest. Nicolas is impactado – what a beautiful girl, he says. Gabriel tells him that she is Luisito’s teacher.
Joselyn is lying in bed stroking a picture of Gabriel. She has a flashback to a scene where she and Gabriel are kissing in a pool and then she is literally rolling in the hay with some other guy. [Are we supposed to know who this is? I thought maybe it was Edgar and I went back and looked at the boat/murder scene but I don’t think so.] Then we have such a close up of Joselyn that you can see right up her nostrils. She murmurs that no one is like Gabriel and I guess she has put it to the test.
Candelaria tells a sobbing MA that Gabriel is not for her. He is married and has children.
Miriam’s fashion show was well received in the paper. She curses Ingrid out for not bringing her freshly squeezed juice. She gets a call on her cell phone from someone who I assume is Karen, saying that she is in NY on her way home. We then see Karen in an airport and she sees in the newspaper the news that Regina is in the hospital [must have been a slow news day.]
Nicolas and MA have a stilted conversation in the hall while Joselyn watches from the stairs.
Demian tells Tiberio to deduct the payment for the botched murder from Chacal’s account. Tiberio wants to give Chacal a second chance but Demian says no. Meanwhile Dolores has showed up in her nun outfit and hears Demian call Tiberio, ‘godson.’ Dolores asks if Demian recognizes Tiberio as his son. Demian says that for the time being, Tiberio only knows that Demian is his godfather.
Federico comes in to tell Miriam that Otilia is getting a divorce and he wants Miriam to pay for the divorce or he will tell everyone that Joselyn is his daughter and not Clemente’s. He also wants Miriam to divorce Clemente and marry him. He grabs Miriam and starts kissing her when a studly guy comes in. ‘Did you leave me for this guy?’ he asks.
Dolores tells Demian that he betrayed her because he promised that he would tell Tiberio who he is and Demian hasn’t done do. Demian admits it but says that he has raised Tiberio to be his right-hand man and he is very proud of him.
Chacal is packing up to get out of town. Coyote walks in. Chacal chews him out for coming in without knocking and throws him out at gunpoint.
Leo tells his buddy that he really likes MA but she is only interested in having him for a friend.
Pedro is trying to raise Paulina’s spirits but she isn’t interested. She asks Pedro if he has ever been in love. He says that love isn’t for people like him but for people like Rogelio. Paulina assures him that he will find someone.
Soraya says that it is hard working all night in the cabaret and since her son, Jorge, left home, she has lost all enthusiasm for life. Diana says that Jorge left many years ago and nobody has heard anything from him since. Soraya responds that a mother never stops thinking about her children and Diana will understand when she has a child. Diana says sadly that Rogelio has told her that he doesn’t want children in general and her children in particular.
Tiberio sees JC in the hall at the hospital. Tiberio didn’t know JC was back in Mexico and seems less than pleased. Meanwhile, Coyote reports to Demian that Chacal is preparing to do a flit and Demian says not to lose sight of him while Demian is preparing to recompense him as he deserves.
Chacal apparently has enough time before getting out of town to ask Elsa right out in the street to go with him. Her interest in him depends on how much money he has and he says that he has enough to support her for her whole life. She tells him to come for her in the evening. Coyote, meanwhile, is watching this.
In a scene that is above Luisito’s acting capabilities [at one point he looks at the camera, which is a no no], he tells his Papito that Leo has asked him to help get Leo and MA together. Gabriel does not respond to his son’s enthusiasm.
Leo comes into Candelaria’s kitchen in about as much rage as he can summon and forbids Elsa to go away with Chacal. Not surprisingly, Elsa responds badly to being ordered about by Leo. She is nasty to MA. Later Candelaria tries to comfort Leo who says that he will fight to the end to win MA’s love.
Joselyn apparently is going to put the old saying that the way to man’s heart is through his stomach into action. She puts on an apron (!) in the kitchen and sniffs a tomato. Later, Joselyn has set up a candlelit dinner on the terrace for Gabriel. She tells him that it will be just like their honeymoon. While Gabriel takes a call on his cell phone, Joselyn puts a powder in his wine.
One of the cabbies recognizes a fare as a famous musician, Carlos Cuevas. [I looked it up. He is a real musician- pianist, keyboardist arranger and vocalist.]
After drinking the drugged wine, Gabriel is staggering around. Josleyn tries to get him to make love to her but even in his drugged state he isn’t interested.
Chacal waits for Elsa to sneak out of the house while Demian lurks in a doorway.
Candelaria and MA are about to go to bed when, you guessed it, Leo and his buddies have Carlos do a serenata for her. [I had to fast forward through this it was so embarrassing.] MA is pleased. She has never had a serenata before.
Chacal sees Demian and starts to leave on his motorcycle just as Elsa comes down the street. Demian smiles, presses a button and blows up Chacal’s motorcycle. Elsa screams and the credits roll.

La Fea Más Bella #127 10/18/06 LA ESCAPADA – Complete with cows, a cat, some tea and tequila
The abogados justify their festivities by referencing that the constitution orders that you celebrate and congratulate with a [Yuque? (Anvil?)] Didn’t get this one. Julieta is confused about this…I see from your reaction that your answer must be that you didn’t know of this requirement. Julieta rolls her eyes and she and Tomas agree any early stop to this fiesta is a lost cause.
Back at the bar Fern promises Lety he’ll cancel his wedding with Marcia when she gets back from Germany saying that Marcia will hurt more if he waits until one day before the wedding. That earns a silly smile from Lety as she agrees and of course desperately wants that…but of course ears in Germany are burning and right on cue the phone rings and of course it’s …..Marcia…..he’s not going to answer but Lety begs him to do it because what is she going to think now if he doesn’t? Marcia gives him the standard hassle about where is he and who is he with….. he snaps back at her …the conversation ends with her asking him when he is going to accept that he has no interest in marrying her and he emphatically shouts…NEVER…while a sad faced Lety looks on in the distant background.
Meanwhile back in the world of the movers and shakers, Saimona, PM and Lola arrive home from the show. After some PMS kissy face, Lola notices the car of the big-bellied Cheque and begins to worry about the children. El Cheque comes running up to Saimon who is now only half Saimona and holding his wig which Cheque grabs insultingly and yells at Lola.
Saimon what are you doing in this clothing…Cheque is disgusted.
The children sympathise with Saimon and he says he was on a mission but now he must go home to change and recupe his dignity…bye! Until Monday!!
Ok kids let’s go in tell me how it went…..We played futball in the living room, and put on her clothes, and….. no she didn’t do anything to us, but she was mad. Lola secretly covets hearing all this. The son says he doesn’t like that lady being the girlfriend of my Dad. Like the good parent, Lola says yeah, well that’s his business; let’s not get into it.
The kids did entertain themselves very well though.
Lety lets go THE ESCAPE!!!!!
To make up for feeling bad about Marcia, Don Fernando makes a brilliant suggestion. It’s Friday so let’s go away for the whole weekend….Let thinks that would be great, but asks what about her Dad. Well we can pick him up if you like, he can come…another silly laugh…no you know what he’s like.
L -How can I tell you no, but if I tell you yes….I’m going to regret it, and the last time I was stuck sleeping in the train station in Germany- F -Lety don’t remind me I feel really bad about that, so what do you think if we spend two days together….
Back at home…the men are four sheets to the wind by now!!! They cackle away…out of direct fire, Julieta and Tomas are in the kitchen. Of course Tomas is eating again. Julieta rolls her eyes and is making some linden blossom tea. She offers it to Tomas and he refuses because he needs to stay awake. Julieta says all she wants to do is sleep to get away from his “friends,” she even put in 3 tea bags to make it stronger. Tomas explains no, those aren’t really my friends, but I have to make sure that they don’t give us trouble about the lien business, …(a yell from the drunk barrister querying about the embargo) …and Tomas switches gears… uh…. I mean that nothing happens to the things in your living room, because uh…they are very drunk you know. Julieta says yes, they are very annoying and pigheaded….I really want to sleep but I’m worried about Lety. Tomas assures her to take her triple tea and go to bed that he’ll handle everything.
Back to the cute little Beamer where Lety is having second thoughts fearing repercussions from her decision to throw caution to the wind and go off on the “wild” weekend with Fern: “This is crazy, I’m going to regret it….Fern basically consoles her by saying it’s good to do something crazy and spontaneous every once in a while. She is worrying about what to tell her father and what he will say…even though she really knows how marvelous spending a whole weekend with him will be… Fern advises her to make up something, I don’t want to lie…are you going to tell him the truth? Of course not! OK, so here goes….
Back to the now even drunker three musketeers in the living room we hear the kazoos and the phone. Tomas struggles to reach over the men to answer Lety’s call. Tomas tells Lety that Sanchez and Domingo are there but he didn’t tell them anything about FI and that her Dad gave them tequila!
Lety is about to ask her Dad for permission to romp in bed with Fern for an entire weekend….when WAIT, Erasmo had an ephinany!!!!
Oh my God!!!!! Did she hear him right?
Papa, I want your permission to go…. I grant my permission! …. but I didn’t tell you what for yet! Don’t tell me I don’t need to know, I trust you! You are a prudent, principled, (insert adjectives) young woman and you deserve to be free. Lety, I trust you you are free!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don’t worry Tequila is the miracle elixir!!!
Lety is beside herself, no problem come back Sunday then….I trust and love you!!!! You didn’t even ask where she was going? We wouldn’t have our fun story though if he stayed in character!!!!
We flash to Mama who is obviously under the Aztec spell of the “Tila,” the linden blossom tea which is an Aztec remedy used as a sedative. Julieta snores away to the tele…Tomas tries to wake her to tell her about Lety being gone, but she doesn’t budge…he gives up.
We are back in the Beamer on our way to Cuernavaca while enjoying some Fernando and Lety happy talk and Fernando is feliz!!!!! (Sung in middle C perhaps?) My dad is drunk….F-what did he tell you….L- the most important thing is freedom and that you enjoy yourself…how wonderful….F-you are not going to tell him the truth though, right? L-Ha, no way.
Back and forth between car and home…..
Erasmo shouts one last time to be free… he points to Lety’s degree….Tomas pushes the abogados out of the house…Erasmo has one last tequilita muttering now Lety is a woman she should be free to do as she wishes.
You know my father was right, it is important to feel free, in the middle of the highway with you going to Cuernavaca is paradise…Fern says you don’t know how long I’ve waited for this and planned this, just pleasure, no business. Lety, you are going to learn a side of me that you never knew before…..Lety says me too….no I know you already…..life is wonderful…we are so in love….
Interrrupted!!!!!!!!! Four Carays! What’s going on, a tire popped, don’t worry Lety everything is under control, I’m an expert at changing tires! Only five minutes and we’ll be on our way! Super Fernando returns…sort of …no costume though….He tells her to pay attention because she’ll learn this in case she ever has problems with a car. He begins to torque the lug nuts. Lety asks where is the “Gato” and Fern explains that he mostly grew up with dogs, and she says no the Gato (the jack)…. …El Gato the jack…she looks in the trunk…and can’t find it…it’s not here…..Fern says move, this is the work of hombres…I can find it….hmm, no it’s not here…so we are going to call my auto service ..hay senal? No…of course not. I know coverage in Mexico isn’t as pervasive as here, but, it certainly seems to depend on how important the phone call to be made is…. Fern thinks he can work the signal to come…that the phone is like an Aztec spear…something I only have to hold it a certain way to get a signal…nevermind…let’s wait in the car…. ok Lety says, here we can see the stars…..ahhhh the romance is back…..
Uh oh back at Padilla and back to kazoos….Erasmo is face down in the bed snoring and looking dead. Julieta complains how much he smells like alcohol…get rid of this drinking idea…! She goes to greet her beloved hija but yikes Lety is not home…..wake up Erasmo!!!!!!
You guessed it…..he doesn’t remember talking to Lety….. They fight some more and blame each other. How crazy that she never came home….it’s your fault because you were up last and drunk and had to celebrate your Saint!!!!!! I’m irresponsible but so are you for going to sleep…yeah right… we are fighting and we need to look for Lety…I hope nothing happened…
Back to the carretera, Lety and Fern sleep the rest of the night in the convertible and Lety wakes up to say it was divine? OK, Lety is easy to please….I know Fern is divine…but I’m not sure I’d hack a cold night with no blankets sleeping sitting up in a tiny sports car on the side of the carretera. What comes next is pretty darn funny though.
A native American legend says to beware of the spotted COWS!!!!! Here’s one reason why, Vacas surrounding the BMW! Lety worries they are bulls and Fern tells her no they are just cows. He thinks maybe they smell his macho-ness? She worries that they may dent the car. Finally the cowboy comes along and herds them away.…..more silly laughs. Fernando wonders if cow saliva or skin oil or something is corrosive and will ruin the gel coating of the car! Lety doesn’t know and laughs yet again. If you’ve ever encountered this type of biohazard, share your rescue story with us.
OK, after the “divine” night they remember where they were really going and that they need to fix the tire. Lety tries to flag down cars. One goes past….
Lety decides a strategy is in order. She shows some leg ala Alicia (well not all the way up to her privates like A’s attempt to get into the commercial shoot) and the next car starts to pull over but sees her fea-ness and pulls away at the last minute….no, maybe he sees Fernando and discovers she is not alone…let’s give her the benefit of the doubt. Either way she decides her system isn’t going to work anyway….
Here is one of those ‘only in the novelas’ moments. Lo and behold, Fernando screams angel, and what do you know, a tow truck pulls up with a driver named Angel Paz….Angel Peace… but it’s ok because he’s macho and in plaid flannel no less!!!! I love soap operas….
Erasmo calls the police about Lety and is indignant at their suggestion of where she might be, because “she doesn’t have a boyfriend and she is incapable of escaping with him”….what parents never know about their kids….J
Julieta goes to fetch Tomas…no wait he’s here… Erasmo learns L is not in the morgue, or any hospital….Tomas laughs!!!!!! I came over here early because I imagined what would happen…he smirks and tells of Erasmo’s Che Guevara like speech.
We now flash to the luxury paradise that Lety and Fern will romp in…complete with a first class golf cart that you can hop on the back to get to your room or cabana. Lety says she’s in heaven with the angels. Thank you for being so divine Don Fe…if he was wouldn’t he break up with Marcia and profess his love for Lety to the world? Oh right, that’s coming eventually…must…have…patience…..Lety don’t mention it….and another kiss….the romantic golf cart ride…
Back in Mexico Tomas tells of Erasmo’s newfound appreciation for freedom and mocks his drunken tirade, E doesn’t believe it but …again the fake door….principios etc. Julieta is still mad that we have no idea where our daughter is…. I couldn’t stand watching you sauce up with the abogados….so I had to go to sleep… Tomas thinks it’s E’s fault a little, you never let her go anywhere …Erasmo thinks of people to call, he’s not happy not knowing where she is… this is your punishment says Julieta very seriously….each time your drinking is more frequent….and cut. Foreshadowing to a future problem for Erasmo, maybe?
OK…I got through the episode…whew….actually I’m just so thankful to get a break from having Alicia’s chiches in my face. Is anyone else tired of having to look at those things?????

Heridas de Amor - Wednesday October 18
Juan, Renata, Fab and Flor talk over the newlyweds’ secret marriage and how Gonzalo took the news. Flor wants a party to celebrate and Renata offers to cook.
Fern dismisses all the people who are in the waiting room. Daira, Al, Fab, Pam and Miranda kiss Fern goodbye as Renata hangs back. Renata tells Fern thank you for saving her sister. After they leave Fern grins to Juan saying she has hope about Renata. I think she likes me Gosh darn it!
Lisania lies in Cesar’s embrace, savoring her post coital feelings. She compliments him on his skills while Cesar plays innocent. He demurely says that life teaches you many things and he has only learned a few of these things. She tells him she doesn’t want him to hit her again. Cesar explains he had to hit her because she gets so crazy! It was the only way to get her to listen. Ah shucks honey I did it for your own good. Plus you enjoyed it. Fab rings the doorbell. Cesar sends Lisania off to the back bedroom.
Pamela answers her door to find Alejandro. He says he has been talking to Luciano and Al wants to explain some things to her. “I came to Mexico to get revenge on Miranda’s father. Many years ago Gonzalo shot my dad, he didn’t die, but he suffered for the rest of his life. When I fell in love with Miranda I decided to set aside my plans but I set in action things that I couldn’t stop. I am trying to correct it now but things are complicated.” The doorbell rings and enters Miranda. She seems impactada to see Al and Pam together.
Father Santiago reads from Tomasa’s letter. As he reads we flash to a green memory of Tomasa telling Nati to take off with the gun. Young Bertha gets mad and threatens Tomasa with the lives of her children to get the gun back. Bertha actually tells Tomasa to tell Nati to guard the gun with her life but that part is confusing. Nati and Tomasa are shown taking the gun for their own reasons but we know from other episodes that Bertha trumps their actions by getting rid of the sons, and Nuria to make sure she has control of the gun. The green scene then shows a young Tomasa telling her sons to beware of anything that Bertha asks them to do. Father Santiago is then heard reading and that is the last I have seen of my sons. The Father wonders where is the girl (Nuria) and I wonder if she is still alive? He takes the letter, puts it into a large envelope and hides it in an armoire in his room. (This room looks like a hall, it’s not the office we have seen earlier so heck I have no idea what to call this room but the hall.)
Al seems at a loss of words to answer Miranda but Pamela steps in saying they are planning a gift for her wedding. Miranda falls for it and is happy to know they are planning a surprise for her. They decide to talk with a little help of some tequila. Al promises that he will tell her everything…. Al tells Miranda that everything is ready for the wedding tomorrow. They laugh and hug over their happiness.
Fern comes to talk to Father Santiago. He is in the hall so they talk there as the Father puts away some papers. They chit chat about her daughters and the Father offers kind words of faith. Fern gets to the point of her visit, saying she has talked with Charo and would like to see Tomasa’s envelope that Charo gave to him. He asks her why she wants the envelope but then gives it to her anyway. He warns Fern to not let anyone know that she has it. He says that Bertha is unique and wicked, she attacks when a person least expects it. Fern says she has to go and asks that the Father pray for Florencia. Santiago tells her he will but he always prays for anyone close to Bertha. As Fern turns to leave El Guapo, with the cripple arm, enters the hall. Spooky music plays.
El Guapo asks for help, would the Father employ him. Santiago says he has nothing but Fern speaks up saying she might have something. El Guapo immediately declines but asks for her name. When she says she is Fernanda de Aragon El Guapo says on second thought I would like to work at the hospital. I like kids and old people. Fern gives him her card. Fern leaves and El Guapo guilt’s the Father into giving him work cleaning the church.
Fab and Cesar enjoy some dark brandy or cognac. They really like these snifters in this show. The brothers talk over Fabs stupidness of introducing Alejandro to all the building laws in Mexico and to Miranda. Cesar asks Fab if he still loves Miranda. Fab thinks he might. He is a practical SOB. Fab says he dated Miranda for many years, besides Flor doesn’t have much time left. He is sure that Miranda still loves him. She doesn’t have eyes for anybody else. He just knows it plus Al is just a passing fancy. Cesar can barely control himself as he listens to Fab. He walks Fab out of his apartment saying he is expecting someone so Fab has to go. As Fab shuts the front door behind him Cesar uses his foot to slam the door shut and then throws what is left in his snifter at the door. Lisania walks out of the back bedroom to say she is leaving too. She calls him her love and doesn’t seem curious to why there is alcohol all over the door. Idiota.
Juan perfoms medical checks on Flor as she lies in her hospital bed. Fern checks his notes and then Fern flashes to a green memory of her leaving the hacienda “That Night”. Flor is very young crying to her mother saying where are you going? Don’t leave. Young Fern is crying and says she has to go. While baby Flor listens, Bertha enters the room and begins to chastise Fern. Bertha tells Fern it is all her fault for her lust and lack of morals. Fern begs for Berthas help as Gonzalo is heard screaming at Fern over their voices. Gonzalo is yelling for Fern to leave of he will kill her daughters. Fern comes back to reality and Flor wakes up saying she is sleepy.
El Guapo rummages through all the drawers in the credenza in the hall. Bertha calls and interrupts his search. He says he misses her. He hasn’t found anything there and wants to know if Bertha wants him to give the Father a thrashing to get the Father to talk. El Guapo tells her to hurry or he will stay behind with everything. He crosses his chest with his bad arm, laughing as he does and then leaves the hall.
AL and Luciano talk over how Pamela is theirs. Luc wants to know how AL can be so sure with Pam being the best friend of Miranda. Al argues that Pam couldn’t hurt anyone at all. Luc wants Al to be careful. Al then wants to know about Cesar. As they talk Lisania peeks her head around the corner to listen to their conversation. The men continue unaware of Lisania. Al tells Luc to not to overestimate Cesar. He says that Cesar has luck but he is stupid. As Luc continues to worry Al says that when he marries he will tell Miranda all of the truth. He won’t let one lie separate us. (Mark my words Al will let one word separate them in the future I am sure.) Lisania walks out of her hiding place. AL jumps up and grabs her asking her where has she been! After some words between them Lisania spits out that she doesn’t want to give blood to Florencia.
Miranda tells Charo that she will get married tomorrow. Gonzalo walks in the room, sends Charo off and then questions Miranda about the harvest. Miranda tells him what Bertha did, telling the workers that they didn’t want to pay the workers, and there wasn’t much she could do to save the workers or the harvest. Gonz seems upset to hear the details. He asks Miranda how she feels and Miranda answers that she feels like she has failed and disappointed everyone. But she wants to marry Alejandro because she loves him. If she doesn’t marry him before Bertha returns she fears she won’t ever marry him. Miranda tells Gonzalo that Bertha now has all of Alejandro’s fortune at her fingertips.
Fern tells Amparo and Francisco that Florencia is not doing well. Flors health has deteriorated. Fern wants them to go to the wedding tomorrow. She is upset to hear that they might not go. They discuss what to wear, blah blah blah. Fern leaves and Amparo strong arms Francisco that they will not go to Gonzalo’s house. To think of everything that man has done to them and Fern!
Daira comes into the house in a fury. She walks up to Al and Lisania asking whats going on and where has Lisania been!? Lisania smarts off and Daira smacks her. She tells Lisania to respect her. All Lisania can says is I hate you both! As she runs off. Al tries to console Daira telling her she has done everything she can. Daira knows something very bad is going to happen. Als solution is to take them back to Italy. Daira doesn’t think that is the way to go.
AL goes upstairs, where the stairs are lined with pipes without a hand rail. Strange construction. Lizania tells AL to give her her inheritance or she will file a demand against him. Al argues and they struggle a little bit. As they struggle Al gets to see a flash of Lisania’s chest that has a bad scrape. He asks her about it. Lisania covers saying Daira has already looked at it, and its nothing. She takes off again. Luc comes upstairs to talk with Al and they go over the possibilities of what is wrong with Lisania. They think it might be drugs. Little do they know that it is the love drug of Cesar.
Renata has made dinner at her happy home. Raul is there and invites Carola to dinner when the streetwalker comes over to the house for a visit. Renata is pissed. Juan and Raul question Carola about her new job. Carola admits to telling the employer that she used to be a prostitute. Renata over hears this and looses her cool.
Cesar gets the lowdown from Rebecca by phone that tomorrow will be a family gathering/fiesta. Rebecca doesn’t know the reason for the party but she wants Cesar to go. He hangs up the phone to Nuria ringing the doorbell. He opens the door to Nuria saying she wants Cesar to marry her tomorrow or she will tell Alejandro what Cesar is doing with Lisania.
Gonz and Miranda continue their talk with Miranda asking Gonz if the man he shot was Alejandros father. Gonz has green memories of advising AL to have no mercy on the man who shot his father. Gonz says he doesn’t think that man was the father of AL. Miranda asks how can he be sure?
Upon hearing her announcement Cesar entices Nuria to spend the night. He is very agreeable to her about getting married, calling her his love. Nuria then repeats their agreement saying tomorrow they will marry at the civil registry with the judge she picks. He agrees and says afterward they can go to the party at Miranda’s.
Juan splits and takes Raul with him leaving the two women to fight it out and that is just what they do. A couple of boring slaps and Carola leaves saying that a girl like her would love to have a friend like Renata. Renata tells her that girls like her don’t want friends like Carola. Carola is a NACA! Now get out!
Luciano still wants Al to sign the prenup with Miranda. Al questions why if Bertha has everything? Luc says it still needs to be done. Al notices that there is a secret clause (which I didn’t know about until just now and so don’t fully understand…) that hasn’t been opened before. When Miranda signs the prenup (or gets married) the secret clause can be opened. Al wants Luc to pay people, talk to his contacts in Italy so he can know, before marrying, what the clause says. Luc says he will try.
Daira tells AL that she doesn’t believe returning to Italy is a good solution. In Mexico at least they have his support. AL agrees then asks about the hurt on Lisania’s shoulder. Daira didn’t know of it. They realize something bad is going on.
Fab tells Rebecca that tomorrow must be something important and they need to go. They hope Julio will go but when Julio arrives he says he won’t go. Fab tries to talk Julio into doing something to reunite everyone. As Fab is leaving the room he gets his pensive stupid look on his face. Rebecca notices and asks what‘s going on Son? What are you thinking? Fab says Mama neither my father nor my grandparents nor you have colored eyes. From whom did Cesar inherit colored eyes!?!
