La Traición, Wed., April 23 - Hugo and Soledad play doctor, the rabbit dies for Marina and Dr. Pablo finally makes a house call
Rebeca returns home to find Paquito waiting. She says she has been to visit Soledad and she got the answer they were searching for. "Jeremias did have an affair with Ester," says Paquito. "Exactly," says Rebeca. "The only question," she continues is whether Enrico knows about this." Paquito says that Enrico lived with Jeremias for a long time so he supposes that he does know and since he is living with Soledad now, she probably knows it too. "If so, we're in serious trouble," says Rebeca. She tells Paquito to find out who knows what but he wants to know what she will give him to do so.
The Cabinet of the Dead Wife doesn't seem to have any magical powers because once Margot sees that the only thing inside it is a dead woman, she is grossed out and slams the door closed. Elena explains what happened to her to Guille and Enrico. She opened the cabinet, saw the dead woman floating there and screamed. Doctor Max came and hypnotized her into being Eva. Dr. Max and Hercu-less are now tied up together. (Hercu-less is not having a good day.) Dr. Max wants them to go find the Cabinet and Enrico agrees saying who knows what Margot has done with it.
Two policemen encounter our diminutive trio and ask what they are doing with the Cabinet. Elena tells the officers that her lover is in the cabinet and if they open it, she'll be in big trouble. Maybe the police just don't want to deal with these three anymore but they let them continue on.
In the Love Nest of Perversion, Beatriz screams at Alcides, "You remembered everything, right. You remembered that damn Soledad?" Soothingly, Alcides says, "I'm Hugo, Hugo, I'm your Hugo. It was just a memory of a woman. It's irrelevant. Come here, let me love you, let me love you Beatriz." "Are you serious?" asks Beatriz. "I'm Hugo," repeats Alcides. "I love you." Beatriz puts down the gun and they embrace.
Eloisa is about to drive off in the carriage when Lupe notices that the hut is on fire. Soledad may be in danger. Eloisa tells her to not even think about going inside. She might make the situation worse. Soledad may have set the place on fire herself to fool those men. Lupe doesn't buy these excuses and to prevent her from returning to the house, Eloisa goes herself. Hugo crashes into the burning house like the hero we know he is. "Is there anyone here?" he calls. He crashes around for a few minutes and eventually finds a woman on the floor, "Senora," he says and turning her over he sees that it is Soledad. He picks her up (with some difficulty, it looks like).
Outside the hut, Hugo is sitting down coughing, holding the unconscious Soledad while Boris and Arturo look on. Eloisa comes running up and asks what happened to Soledad. Hugo sends Boris for Dr. Max. Arturo drags Eloisa off asking what she is doing here. Hugo tells Soledad to wake up. "Try hard," he says, "You have to wake up. Do it for your daughter." Soledad coughs and wakes up. "What happened?" she says. "You were trapped in the hut and it caught fire," responds Hugo. "The little girl that was with me, where is she?" asks Soledad. Eloisa tells her to relax; the child is safe.
Arturo offers Hugo his apologies. He says that his men didn't know that Soledad was inside the hut. Hugo responds that Arturo is only an investor in the mine. He has no right to give orders to Hugo's employees. "You mean I've invested all that money and I don't have any say over these people?" says Arturo angrily. "Don't argue any more," says Soledad choking and at that moment Lupe comes running up saying that the little girl has fainted.
Boris returns to say that Dr. Max is not at home. Hugo decides to take the child to the clinic. Eloisa wants to go along and Arturo tells her no. She responds that his actions today have endangered his investment in the mine and she needs to go along to show that his finacé doesn't have any problems with the Medina family. She jumps in the carriage and an exasperated Arturo calls her a spoiled brat. At the last moment, the little girl's father, Jose, shows up and he gets in the carriage too. They all drive off leaving Arturo alone next to a ruined hut.
At the Obragon house, Ester has discovered that Lucas has a briefcase of money and deeds. She asks if he is giving their money to 'that woman.' Lucas says that he is going to meet with Alcides to invest in the mine (at the suggestion of 'that woman'). Ester asks if he is completely crazy. Antonia is listening at the door.
At the clinic, Hugo comes over to sit with Soledad. He completely ignores Eloisa who is covering her nose and mouth in fear of infection. "How are you feeling?" he asks. "Fine. Thanks to you nothing bad happened."Hugo strokes her cheek and says, "You shouldn't have taken the risk." "I know. I rushed in. I should haved asked for help but the family needed me," she responds. Hugo removes something that was tangled in her hair. She thanks him. "If it hadn't been for you. If you hadn't rescued me, I'd be dead by now. Thank you." She thinks, 'My God, his gaze is just like Hugo's.' Hugo smiles at her (God, we haven't seen Hugo smile like that for so long! So sweet.) "What wrong?" he says. "Something tells me that you are thinking about me," he says. "What is it?" "Uh, about the suffering of a mother," stammers Soledad, "and I'm so thankful about little Aurora." Hugo says, "I spoke to little Aurorita a few days ago and do you know what she told me? She told me that you named our daughter Aurora as a tribute to my brother Hugo. Did you love Hugo that much? That much? Did you really care about my brother Hugo's luck?"
"Why do we always end up talking about the same thing?" says Soledad wearily, "Let's not talk about Hugo. Let's respect his memory."
"Answer me," says Hugo.
"Hugo and I were going to be married. We were engaged, Alcides," responds Soledad.
"Right," says Hugo as if she has just confirmed what he has believed all along, "and you ended up married to me, to Alcides. You lied to my poor brother."
"Shut up," says Soledad desperately, "I won't let you speak to me like that . Respect me. Leave me alone."
'You never loved me,' thinks Hugo, 'never'.
Ester says that Lucas cannot use the little money they have left to invest in the mine. Lucas asks why. Ester says that it is too risky. Lucas says that the proofs show that the gold in the mine is of high purity. Antonia puts her oar in. She agrees with Ester but for different reasons. She thinks Alcides is evil. Too bad, says, Lucas, I'm going to do it anyway. Ester lets him take the money but not the deeds.
At the clinic, Soledad asks the doctor what the child has. The doctor says that the child's fever is down but he's still not sure. He need to do more tests. Several other patients have come today with the same symptions. "Are you saying it is an epidemic?" asks Hugo. At this point, Lupe faints. Soledad wonders if she has the same illness as her daughter. Eloisa manages to look horrified behind the lace handkerchief she holding in front of her face.
In the tavern, Paquito gives a youth a letter he wants put under the door of the Obragon house without anyone seeing. A guy comes into the tavern and announces that there is a terrible illness attacking the city. Many men are already dying in the forest and many are infected with the virus. We have to do something. Paquito gets out his notebook. Is he going to blame this on the Medina family as well?
Hugo sends Boris to Dr. Max's with a blood sample. If Dr. Max isn't there, he has to wait for him. "Is the situation that serious?" asks Boris. "It appears to be an epidemic," says Hugo, "we have to find out where it originated?" (Don't we need to find a cure? or find out what it is?). The nurse announces that 6 more people have arrived with symptoms. The doctor says that they don't have enough beds. Soledad (in her off-the-shoulder frilly pink gown) volunteers to help, so does Hugo and of course Eloisa says she will help too, but the disease is contagious, right? (ha ha)
The doctor says that they will take all necessary precautions. Soledad looks wonderingly at Hugo. She says to herself, 'Alcides has really changed. He seems to be a different person.'Hugo, in a surgical mask, is with little Aurora (who seems to have private room). Naturally, Eloisa is there too. Hugo is giving the kid moral support. The kid asks if she is going to die. Hugo has to take off the mask so the kid can see his cuteness. He says that won't happen. Everything is going to be fine. He promises it. Then he kisses the kid. Hugo leaves Eloisa with the child and says he will be right back. Little Aurora says to Eloisa, "He is a nice man." "Too nice, I'd say," responds Eloisa, "Alcides has changed a lot." "That's not Don Alcides," pipes up the kid, "that's Don Hugo." Out of the mouth of babes. Fortunately, Eloisa thinks the child is delirious and pays no attention.
In the Love Nest of Perversion, Alcides and Beatriz are going at it when Dr. Pablo peeks through the door. "What is going on here?" he asks. (Looks pretty clear to me.)
Marina tells Lucas that Alcides is not at home. Ursula comes down and Lucas asks for Soledad. Ursula says that she isn't home either but Lucas can see his granddaughter while he waits. Marina takes a few steps and keels over.
Ester finds the note put under her door. She opens it and it says, "I know that Soledad is the daughter of Jeremias. If you don't want your husband to find out, put 20 big ones in an envelope and leave it next to the trash on the south side of the square this afternoon." Ester is impactada.
The diminutive trio puts the Cabinet of the Dead Wife back where it belongs at Dr. Max's. They are going back where they left Dr. Max tied up but he bursts in and threatens to kill them. Boris' arrival lets them escape.
Boris gives Dr. Max the blood sample and says that it is from Dr. Ortiz. Dr. Max says that he doesn't do charity work. Boris responds by saying that there is a plague in the city. Alcides/Hugo sent the sample for him to analyze. If Dr. Max discovers what it is, Alcides will reward him. Dr. Max agrees to analyze the sample because Alcides asked him too. He tells Boris to leave. He'll let him know if he has any results.
Hugo and Soledad work side by side helping people at the clinic and mercifully have no dialog. Finally, she sits down to rest. Hugo brings her some tea. Hugo says to Soledad, "You look tired, you should rest a little."
"No," says Soledad, "there are so many people to take care of still."
"It was beautiful to see you helping so many people with love and dedication," says Hugo looking at her lovingly.
"I'd say exactly the same thing about you," laughs Soledad. "I never imagined that I could see you with such a united interest. I never should have stopped doing this. The truth is that there are many people who need help." "You did it before," says Hugo, "you did it with Hugo."
"How do you know that?" asks Soledad. "I used to follow you guys," says Hugo, "I never lost the hope of making you my wife, never."
Ester makes the drop. Paquito is watching. "Very good, madam," he says to himself, "You got the message." He picks up the money and says that now Ester is in his hands.
At the Hacienda, Marina says that she was just dizzy. She feels better. Ursula suggest that Boris take her to the doctor when he returns but Marina insists that she is fine. (is it plague or pregnancy?). Lucas suggests that she not get up so soon but Marina insists. Ursula tells Lucas that Marina is stubborn and does not merit his concern.
At the tavern, the diminutive trio tell each other that they have to keep quiet about what is in the Cabinet otherwise Dr. Max will kill them.
An exultant Dr. Max tells the Cabinet that he has discovered what is causing the epidemic. Now Alcides will owe him and he'll be able to experiment on the baby and find the substance that will bring Eva back to life.
Ester is at Jeremias' grave. She says the horrible lie she made up when they were young has now caught up with her. "Someone discovered that lie. I thought that since you were dead, no one would ever find out what I made you believe when you were alive. Who did you tell that Soledad was your daughter? I was your lover without loving you. I wanted to abandon Lucas. All he did was drink. He was always a loser (still is) which is why I was horrified when I discovered I was pregnant. I needed money and a house, security. Everything a mother needs to raise a child. That's why I told you that you were the father of Soledad. Soledad can't find out about this. I would die if she found out that I had made you believe you were her father for mercenary reasons. (The spanish word she uses is "interés." She used the same word about why Soledad would marry Alcides when Hugo heard her conversation with Manrique at his velorio.) Soledad wouldn't understand and Lucas would never forgive me. I couldn't stand that shame. Someone is blackmailing me. Who did you tell?" Rebeca comes up behind Ester and asks what she is doing at her husband's grave.
At the clinic, Soledad tells Hugo that she wants to go home and take care of her baby. Boris appears and says that he delivered the blood sample to Dr. Max but on the way back he heard people saying that the epidemic was caused by the curse on the Medina family. Hugo says that they will have to wait this out. There is no superstition in the town that isn't related to his family.
Back at the Hacienda, Hugo tells Soledad, "You helped people at the clinic that you had never seen before." "I don't have to know them to want to help them," responds Soledad. "Yes, but you did it with so much love, lots and lots of love. That makes me remember the Soledad that my brother loved. You are special, very special." "You surprised me today also," says Soledad. "You did a great job with all those people. I'm discovering a great person inside of you. Gracias" "You're welcome," says Hugo. They get closer to one another and Soledad takes Hugo's hand and they start caressing each other a little. Hugo says, "Do you know why I've changed? Because now I have a reason to live. You have given me the best gift a woman can give a man. You've given me a daughter." Soledad moves to kiss him but pulls away at that last moment. Hugo keeps her from moving away. She tells him to let her go. "Look at me," he says, "Look me in the eye." She looks, "I don't plan on giving you up," says Hugo. "I'm going to get you back even if it takes an eternity.""I don't like to hear you talk like that", says Soledad, "you sound like Hugo. Please, don't say that."
At this moment, Dr. Max interrupts. He says that he has good news. The epidemic has been controlled. (that was quick!). He discovered that the cause was the water in the river.
Ester tells Rebeca that she came to visit her family's tombs and noticed that Jeremias' tomb was uncared for, without flowers (a dig at you, Rebeca). She wanted to pray a little. Rebeca says that it is true. She hasn't visited her husband's tomb lately. She has found out things in his past that hurt her. He had affairs both before and after they were married. He had an affair with a married woman. Ester tells her not to believe the things that people say. Rebeca asks Ester. "Is something wrong?" "I'm exhausted," says Ester. Rebeca says that she will escort her home.
At the Obragon house, Rebecca presses Ester to tell her what the matter is. Ester says that she has problems and she doesn't know what to do but she isn't going to tell Rebeca about it. She goes to lie down. Rebeca says to herself that Ester's conscience bothering her. Antonia pops up. She has things she wants to talk to Rebeca about. Antonia asks Rebeca how she can come to this house and pretend to be Ester's best friend after all she has done? Rebeca plays innocent. "What are you talking about?"
"You are my brother's lover," responds Antonia. "You are the Mysterious Lady he's been with all this time." Rebeca is impactada. "How dare you accuse me of being your brother's lover," she says, pretending to be outraged."That's what I say", responds Antonia, "and I'd rather not tell my sister in law about it. You know exactly what I am talking about. I warn you. You had better not come back here or there will be serious problems because I will talk."
Ester comes in, "What will you talk about?" she asks. Rebeca takes the offensive. She says that Antonia has accused her of the most horrible things. Things that could only be in the mind of a sick person. "You don't have to tell me," says Ester. "I know this woman. She likes to judge others and she only knows how to talk." Antonia tells Ester not to listen to Rebeca. She has been lying to you the whole time. But Ester says, "I know you Antonia. You see sin everywhere." Antonia tells Rebeca to get out of the house. Ester says that Antonia has no right to say that. The only one who is going to be leaving the house is her! (What irony! Antonia is punished for one of the few times that she tells the truth!)
Hugo, Boris & Dr. Max are in his study. Hugo thanks Dr. Max for all he did at the clinic. Dr. Max says that science is his passion. Hugo says that Dr. Max can study the baby to help find a cure for her disease. Dr. Max thanks him. Hugo puts conditions on what he does, though. There must always be someone present. He says, "Listen to me carefully, there must be nothing, absolutely nothing done behind my back. I want to know everything.""So it will be", says Dr. Max.
Boris asks Dr. Max to look in on Marina. She hasn't been feeling well and he is afraid that it is the disease that has been going around. Dr. Max says he will do it right away. He leaves and is barely out the door when Boris addresses Hugo by name and says that he is ok with Dr. Max treating an adult but does Hugo think it is ok for him to treat his niece? Hugo says, "Soledad is suffering so much that anything we do will make her feel better. You don't know how much I wish Dr. Chirac Jr. were here." (us too!)
Soledad tells Lucas not to worry. She is fine. Alcides has changed. Every day confirms it more. (I guess she has forgotten the Alcides who was at the cemetery.)Lucas say, "Don't be fooled. He's just pretending to gain your trust."Soledad responds, "No, you haven't seen him. Everything he does is with so much love. Really, Dad, it's as if he really cared about people. Sometimes I look at him and I feel like I'm looking at Hugo." Eloisa is outside the door listening to this. (Why is she roaming around the Hacienda?) Dr. Max comes up on Eloisa in the hall and says that he is going inside. She lets him pass.
He enters the room and conveniently leaves the door open behind him for her to hear the conversation. He tells Soledad that her husband has finally permitted him to treat Aurora. Soledad says, "Good. All we are concerned about it the baby's well being."Dr. Max tells her that Hugo put some conditions on what I do that I accepted. He wanted to let her know. He leaves to examine Marina. When he is gone, Lucas tells Soledad that he has come to ask her husband to let him invest in the mine. Soledad thinks that is a bad idea. She doesn't want him to do business with Alcides. Lucas says that it's not that he doesn't care about her opinon but he's made his decision. He thinks it would be an economic help for the baby's illness. (Pathetic attempt to get Soledad on your side, Lucas. Hugo has the financial responsibility and means to take care of the baby's illness.) Soledad says she doesn't want him to have problems in the future. Lucas responds that neither her mother or aunt are in favor of this. Don't make it unanimous. He knows what he's doing.
Dr. Max tells Marina that her symptoms having nothing to do with the epidemic. Marina seems extremely obtuse as to what condition nausea and dizziness might indicate. DM tells her that she is preggers. Marina is impactada.
Lucas leaves. Ursula says that she doesn't understand. First Soledad says that Alcides has changed and then she says that she doesn't want her father to do business with him. Soledad responds that money matters are always complicated. She says that once she heard Alcides talking about revenge. She didn't what he was referring to but she thinks it had something to do with the mine.
At the Love Nest of Perversion, Alcides is chained up again and Beatriz is dressed. Alcides and Beatriz are having a post coital nap together when Dr. Pablo bursts in. "What's going on here?" he asks. Beatriz jumps up and gets her gun. "You have no right to be here." she says. "This is too much," says Dr. Pablo, "I was worried about you thinking that you were with a bad man and here you are with Hugo de Medina." "I'm not Hugo," says Alcides quickly, "I'm Alcides and she has kidnapped me." "What?" Dr. Pablo is confused.
Eloisa goes downstairs. She has a flashback to little Aurora's id of Hugo and Soledad words about how sometimes Alcides looks like Hugo. She has to resolve her doubts right away. She goes into Hugo's study. Eloisa says that Alcides has changed so much. Every day she sees it more. Hugo says that during his recovery he had time to change the things he didn't like about himself. "I'm not so sure about that," says Eloisa. "I don't see the passion in your eyes that the old Alcides had. "I think that Hugo didn't die, that he was rescued and took Alcides' place after the mine collapsed." "And I think that you have a wild imagination," responds Hugo with an amused smile. "You think so? It that's true, show me that it is otherwise," says Eloisa.
"How?" asks Hugo.
"Kiss me, let me feel the fire that drove me crazy from the first moment," demands Eloisa. They kiss passionately. Eloisa say, "It's not the same." Hugo answers, "How so?" Eloisa says, "What really happened to you, Alcides?" Hugo says, "Listen to me. You don't love Arturo. You shouldn't marry him. He will just make you suffer."
"You're worried about me," exults Eloisa. "I love it that you think of me, Alcides." She falls into his arms and he is holding her when Soledad comes in. (What happend to Lucas? Did he get lost? Is he drinking Hugo's liquor somewhere?)
The credits roll. Tomorrow: Hugo and Soledad have a passionate kiss?
Tomorrow's summary will be posted later than usual. I have a class on Thursday nights and I don't get home in time to do the Summary. I have to do most of it during work!

Pasion April 22, 2008 "al diablo con los diablos"
* Santo is leaving Ofelia and Ana at the gate - he is going to the mansion to visit Jorge. Ana cries as Santo leaves. Ofelia does her best to calm the little girl; Jimena finishes getting water from the well and goes inside to clean Ascanio's room.
* In the room, Jimena starts to search and search and search through everything. She gets to the desk. She shakes the table top and something falls from behind to the floor. Jimena grumbles about not being able to read as she looks at the papers in the leather folder.
* Luis helps Alberto put on his peg leg. Alberto grimaces as he tries to stand up on it and the crutches. He grumbles at Luis as he falls back to the bed. Luis helps Alberto up and follows Alberto hobble into the hallway.
* Manuela stands still as Alberto mumbles about Ascanio receiving the note but not coming to visit Alberto yet. Alberto tells Manuela to get Ascanio to come to the house or she will regret it.
* Jorge and Santo are in a meeting in the mansion office. Jorge mentions Rico which gets Santo's dander all tied into knots again. They turn their conversation to how Alberto's doing with his peg leg, and then about Santo's godson Pedro and the cover story that Lisabeta has been telling around town.
* Ines, Cami and Conchita are at the town market. Conchita is anxious about having her son back again and worried about Rico coming through on his promise. Cami assures her everything will work out, be patient. They walk away from the market and Cami asks about the father of Conchita's baby. Conchita tells her he was an ungrateful louse who didn't live up to his commitment. She wishes she had a husband like Cami's. Cami and Ines walk her to the church.
* Lis and Fran talk in the salon as Lis holds little Pedro. Alberto enters and spots the baby and asks what is going on? Lis gets scared and calls Candida over to take Pedro outside to the street for awhile. Candida high-tails it out of there with Pedro. Alberto grumbles into Lis' ear about defying and lying to him about Pedro. Lis spouts off that she can't let her nephew go. Alberto thinks she's lying and crazy. Lis says it's true, Pedro is Rico's son. Alberto goes ballistic. Lis counter attacks with Fran's observations of him, Uriel and Mateo leaving the other night to attack the caravan. Lis is prepared to go to the authorities with the information unless he gives in to her keeping Pedro there at the house - his life is in her wicked little blind hands. She cackles. Alberto swings his mighty crutch and it hits her in the backside. Alberto and Lis both fall on the ground. Alberto calls loudly for Luis to help him. Fran stays beside Lis. They exchange another round of threats. Alberto and Luis leave for the bedrooms again. Lis cries. Fran wonders what to do now? Alberto has a miserable temper. Lis and Fran talk of escaping - but to where? asks Fran. Lis says I don't know, La Mariana, Veracruz, wherever. Fran asks how? What money? Lis has a light-bulb moment and knows what to do.
* In the bedroom, Luis struggles to take the peg leg suction cup off Alberto's leg. Alberto grunts as it comes off. Luis places it on the bed as Lis enters the room. Luis leaves. Lis stands by the bed and apologizes for lying to him about Pedro. Alberto listens. Lis tries to blame the idea on Fran, but Alberto doesn't buy it. Lis agrees to send Fran, Candida and Pedro to live at Cami's old place. Alberto agrees to the plan - if they deceive him again, they die. Lis understands. He tells her to start sleeping in his bed, and says just because he lost an eye and leg, he is still a man and wants to have children with her. She is forced to agree. He starts to kiss and grope her.
* Ascanio is working in his office. Nana enters with a letter from Manuela. Nana waits as Ascanio reads the letter - Manuela writes him to come to the house and meet with her father to formally acknowledge the engagement and marriage. Ascanio writes his response on how he loves her and doesn't want to sacrifice their love or his conscience and dignity for the sake of keeping quiet for Jorge and Alberto's benefit. Ascanio finishes, folds and seals the letter and gives it to Nana. Nana tells him that Manuela will meet him tomorrow at their usual spot in the park. She leaves.
* Colonel visits with Jorge, Santo, Ursula, Sofia and Fortunata at the mansion salon. Ursula and Fortunata ask Colonel about his father, who was a Colonel also. As Fortunata starts to ask questions about Colonel's brother who disappeared from the family, Sofia stops the conversation. Jorge turns the talk towards politics - the end of the war with Britain.
* In the bedroom, Lis explains to Fran her plan. Fran will live with Pedro at Cami's house. Lis will secretly send them money. When the time is right, Lis will join them at the house and they will runaway together for Veracruz.
* As Santo and Sofia talk about how much Ana Maria is growing and Tita is dancing with her Nana, Colonel and Ursula walk to a quiet corner for a private conversation. Colonel asks her why she lied about when they left Puerto Paraiso. Ursula says that was Sofia's decision - it was to cover up for Cami and her lover, the pirate known as Antillano. Colonel is very intrigued. Ursula tells him about the gossip that Antillano may have had something to do with the caravan assaults also. Ursula asks him about his investigation and if he has other suspects. He only says that he will be conducting a thorough investigation of the matter. The mansion guard interrupts to tell Colonel he has an important messenger at the door. Colonel excuses himself. At the door, Captain tells Colonel that Don Gaspar has requested an urgent meeting right now with him - Colonel is reluctant to leave but Captain says he has to meet with Don Gaspar now. Colonel makes his formal excuses and leaves. Jorge is curious about this urgent business - the guard doesn't have any specific information.
* At the church steps, Cami is seated. Ines and Conchita are next to one of the carts. Ines spots Candida walking Pedro into the square and whispers and points her out to Cami. Cami is excited and tells Ines to keep Conchita distracted. Cami runs out to greet Candida in the square. Cami holds and kisses Pedro (AW!) as she talks with Candida about the baby's mild demeanor and that Lis is taking excellent care of him. Conchita and Ines are across the plaza - Conchita sees Cami with Pedro and goes crazy. Conchita runs over and tries to take Pedro from Cami. As Conchita screams for them to give her son to her, Cami and Ines hold Conchita back as Candida takes Pedro away.
* On the beach, Auxiliadora washes her hair. Rico stuns her by yelling "Where in the devil did you take my son?!?!?" Rico walks towards her and asks her where is his son? what did she tell Cami and Conchita? Did she tell the wrong person that her son was dead? Auxiliadora has no choice but to tell the truth - Rico has a firm grip on her arms.
* Cami comes down to the yard to talk with Ines, she left Conchita in the room to calm down. They need to be more careful with Conchita from now on. Cami hopes Rico has found Auxiliadora by now. They discuss the possibility of Jimena, Ascanio and Vasco finding something, anything to help them also.
* In the room, Don Gaspar is furious with Colonel Jose Maria, another of his godsons, for not abiding by the orders and letting Rico go free when he knew who he was. Colonel knows about the orders, but he says with Rico there are extenuating circumstances being considered in his remaining under arrest. Colonel tells Don Gaspar about Ursula's accusations of Rico being part of the attack on Puerto Paraiso; as well Rico told him about some papers that will officially link Alberto to the caravan assaults. Don Gaspar is intrigued.
* Ursula is reading her poetry in her room. Jorge enters and grumbles about the sad state of affairs he is in right now. Ursula tries to cheer him up and reminds him about mom's birthday. Ursula thinks they should have a huge surprise party for her. Jorge thinks they should just have something small with family only. Ursula agrees. Jorge looks at her and says he wants her to marry someone honest and caring. He leaves.
* In the courtyard, Ursula and Fortunata talk about the surprise birthday dinner for Sofia, and they will probably have to invite Santo.
* Ascanio reads Manuela's latest letter in his office. She cries as she writes the words, begging him to reconsider and just meet with her father. She reminds him that they will see each other tomorrow.
* Paco runs upstairs and yells for Cami. As Paco brings Cami down to the yard, Don Gaspar is helped out of his coach. Don Gaspar wants to talk to her about Rico. Paco says his uncle left awhile ago and he hasn't seen him since. Don Gaspar wonders about Cami. Cami gulps and says she has seen Rico.
* In the salon, Don Gaspar tells Cami he needs her to tell him everything she knows about Rico and where he may be now. Cami looks at Justo and then kneels and starts to confess everything from the moment of her son's birth when she heard the baby's cry and everyone was telling her he was dead - everyone but Rico that is.
* As they get settled back in Cami's house, Lis and Fran start to argue about the plan. Fran raises her voice too loud and it scares little Pedro. Pedro starts to cry and Lis has to console him - saying his great aunt is a horrible person.
* Cami continues telling her confession about why Rico escaped from the prison - he had to locate Auxiliadora the midwife. Don Gaspar tells Cami and Justo that when Rico returns, they are to advise him as soon as possible. Don Gaspar explains that Spain has sent down the edict that all pirates have been pardoned. Justo and Cami are pleased, Rico is free. Don Gaspar then talks with Cami about the important papers Rico had sent for that show Alberto's role in the caravan assaults. Cami says that Mario will be the one who will bring them. Don Gaspar will also help.
* In her bedroom, Nana brings Manuela the news that Ascanio has arrived at the house to speak with Alberto.
* In the office, Alberto looks at his papers and food as Ascanio enters and stands at the desk. Alberto says he has permission to marry Manuela, but there will be no dowry or money or nothing. Ascanio doesn't care about that, only that he and Manuela love each other. Alberto laughs. Ascanio repeats and adds that he will marry Manuela for love and not in exchange for his silence. Alberto goes ballistic and tries to order Ascanio to sign the contract and agree to the terms. Ascanio puts his foot down and adamantly refuses. Alberto goes crazy and threatens Ascanio's life.
* Ascanio finds Manuela in her room and tells her that Alberto has lost all sense of reason, he has to escape for a few days and will return soon. He kisses her and leaves quickly. Alberto enters the room and corners Manuela. She's nervous as he spouts off that she will be sent to the convent for the rest of her life.
* Conchita is playing catch with Paco near the well. Rico rides up with Auxiliadora. As they dismount, Paco runs around to the yard and greets Rico. Paco starts to babble on to Uncle Rico as Conchita spots Auxiliadora and runs over to choke her and get her to tell the truth about her son. Cami and Ines have to run out and hold Conchita back. Justo pushes Auxiliadora towards the house. Cami asks Paco to go with Grandpa. She and Rico hug. They walk to the dining hall to talk. Paco and Justo join them.
* Ascanio and Manuela meet at their designated special park bench by the lake. They talk about Ascanio refusing to sign the marriage contract. Ascanio is really frustrated, he knows the right thing to do but if he does some people he cares about will be hurt. Manuela asks, if that has to do with her and Santo? Ascanio says yes. Manuela tells him to go ahead and do what he needs to do, don't worry about her. They hug.
* Rico has lunch as he talks with Cami and Justo - he will deal with his own situation and Don Gaspar later, first he needs to take care of Auxiliadora and Conchita and find their son. Justo apologizes to Rico. Rico listens and says that's not really needed, it's all past history now. Justo has tears in his eyes. Cami does as well.
* Cami and Rico lead Justo, Conchita, Auxiliadora and the farm hand on the walk towards town. Cami and Rico discuss Auxiliadora and Conchita's declarations; Cami tells Rico that Lis has a baby boy and she had it baptized Pedro, after Rico's dad. Auxiliadora has to be restrained by the farm hand so she can't escape. Cami tells Rico how it felt to hold Pedro in her arms in the square. Rico tells her that they will get him back, pase lo que pase (no matter what).
* As Cami, Rico and the group round the corner into town, Cami and Rico continue to talk about the declarations. Ascanio is excited to greet Rico back in town again. Rico explains they are on their way to see Don Eustaquio in the municipal building. It's so Auxiliadora and Conchita can give their testimonies about which baby died, theirs or Conchita's. Ascanio volunteers to escort them inside the building.
* In front of Don Eustaquio in the chambers, Auxiliadora starts to give her declaration about the births. Conchita yells her objection and starts to argue from her own point of view. Ascanio has to hold Conchita back really tightly. The ladies argue. Rico has to calm both of them down. Rico tells Don Eustaquio about Lis having his son baptized with his father's name (Pedro de Salamanca).
* Jorge and Santo meet again in the office. This time, Santo is inquiring about when the market will return to Justo's family. Jorge says be patient, he has to meet with Uriel's family first. Don Eustaquio enters to talk with Jorge about the meeting he just had with Justo, Cami and Rico. Santo is livid with the knowledge that Rico is back in town. Don Eustaquio explains that Spain has actually sent down the edict granting full pardons to Rico and the other pirates. Santo is furious. Jorge tells him to shut up and let Don Eustaquio continue. Don Eustaquio tells them about the declarations of Auxiliadora and Conchita in regards to the birth Lis and Santo's godson.
* Rico arrives at the front door and asks Luis to speak with Alberto now. Luis replies and walks him inside.
* In the salon, Lis asks who is it? Rico announces himself. He has to grab her as she faints from impactado. Lis cries how she missed him and thought he was dead. It's a miracle! she declares. As she tries to hug him, Rico says he's there to speak with her husband and holds her back. Lis tells Luis that she will meet with Rico instead, don't bother Alberto. Rico pressures her about why she baptized his son, Pedro de Salamanca. She says it was a tribute to him. He asks her about why she's nervous. She says she's just excited to see him again. He asks where his son is, she says not here, they're with Fran at the other house - go and see if you don't believe me. She goes in for a hug, but he holds her back and says he's going to visit her husband. He leaves down the hall. She follows calling "Rico! Rico!"
* Rico enters Alberto's bedroom and locks the door behind him. Lis is locked out and attempts to eavesdrop on the conversation inside. Alberto sits up in bed. Rico assures him that he isn't going to kill him now. He makes a pact the incriminating letters from Molinar Pastor in exchange for his son. Alberto says they will make the exchange in a public place - Rico agrees and says the condition is, if Lis finds out any of this, the deal is off.
* As Rico unlocks the door and leaves, Lis stands off to the side as he passes by and pushes her over to the other side of the hallway without any word. Lis chases him out to the salon but Rico doesn't stop. Lis walks into Alberto's room and over to the bed. She demands and grabs him to force him to tell her what they talked about. Alberto grunts, shoves Lis across the room and into the table, crashing her and the silver to the floor. Alberto takes another swig from his medicine bottle.
* Jorge and Santo have an argument about Rico being set free. Santo says Jorge has to do something to keep Rico in jail. Jorge explains again about Colonel's orders and the pardons from Spain. Santo is still really upset (he's having a really crappy day.)
* Out on the street, Rico rides up to Santo. Santo confronts Rico about receiving his pardon; however Santo won't forgive him so easily about lying and turning Cami into his pirate wench. Rico dismounts. They argue and get into a fist fight. Rico holds his dagger up to Santo's neck, demanding Santo take that back. Santo dares Rico to kill him, then Cami will hate him forever. Rico refuses and says if it turns out that his and Cami's son did die, Santo will be the biggest loser of all. Rico leaves. Santo makes his best "Oh Crap!" face.
ADVANCE: Alberto is desperate to find Lis.

Guapos 04-22-2008 "Vine, vi, me chantajea"
The End…
Now then, at least I feel confident in passing along the Belemonte Family Motto
"Vine, vi, me chantajea" or I came I saw I blackmailed.
Okay, I will throw a few more details in there.
We begin with Val talking to Ma Luci about I think the trip was canceled cause her friend’s mother died or is sick or something, but anyway like the Valtrax Commercial, Val is back.
Brau or Glove’s as I prefer to call him is back at the mansion. He tries to tell Luci about his brushes with Death, but she has no time to listen. He gets a quizzical look on his face.
Consti of the recent beating has forced Bobby to give up Damien and Bobby takes Consti to “Damien’s House of Gambling & Pink Bunnies”. Is it just me or were those just not the most pathetic Energizer Bunnie Costumes? Consti is in a state of total P.O.ness, this could ruin his stellar political career.
Meanwhile Rocky is driving the car and he has a huge floral arrangement perched on top, I can only assume it is a tribute to his late (he thinks she is dead) love. Oh there is bound to be a Wiley E. Coyote, paints the tunnel on the side of the mountain moment with this misunderstanding. He sees Val walk into a doorway, but thinks it is a ghost.
Over at the office Damien comes in to see Al about the worker problem or strike. Al says help me out with the workers. No que problemo nephew, for a few pesos; I’ll do the job. Al tries to say no, but quickly crumples cause gosh, Mili is mad at him and that just can’t be. This guy is gonna be awesome at running the company. He cuts Damien a check.
Damien talks to the Foreman, how they are going to jerk Al’s chain. The patronizing Foreman listens to how it could have all been Damien’s had his ever worthless father not lost it. I for one think Damien would have been a totally excellent CEO..NOT!
Rocky is at the kitchen table with Horacio and Sorrocito and Lina, he is telling them that he saw Val. He tells them Val is dead. They just think he is crazy in love. No he tells them that she died in a plane crash and he must help her go to the light. Basically they think he is crazy, but they are bored and thus will play along.
Yolanda, (I think that is Gloria’s mother’s name), shows up at the front door. Gloves answers the door and tells her to go round to the servants entrance, but Mili the great equalizer lets her in. Mili then comes into the dorm room and Yolanda follows her. Gloria tells her mother that she has nothing to say to her now, not after she abandoned her all those years ago. Gloria is crying, Ma is crying, Mili is crying and does a Mili spin on it and tells Gloria to listen to her mother. Mili’s mother is dead and how she wishes she could see her mother. Geez, she never wants to see her father? Well really ignorance is bliss in that case.
Mili leaves them alone.
Damien is sitting in a chair, I’m not really sure where it is, but it is full of “Consti for Emperor” posters. Damien looks all comfortable, Consti walks around behind him and puts a gun to Damien’s head. Do you know what this is? Damien lets out a long suffering sigh, yes it is a pistol. Poor Damien, he sounds like a school kid who has taken the same quiz four times. Like Consti, Asshat, do you think you are the first guy who has shoved a pistol to my temple? That is so last month.
Consti, queries if he should kill Damien. I’m surprised Damien doesn’t let out a big old yawn right now, Please if Consti hasn’t killed Damien after these long Viente Anos, he isn’t going to do so now. He says Damien has to sign over his part of Casino (at least I think it was the Casino to Perleta). Two thugs now come in from “Perleta’s House of Crime”. I am so confused, do these people not know any other shady types? I mean everybody in the family hires the same hit guys, and as of yet except for a few bitch slaps no serious damage is ever done. Let us not forget that Andrea is also boinking Perleta, so literally and figuratively Perleta is screwing the entire cast.
Back at the mansion, beep beep time for the tunnel train. A séance is about to begin amongst the humble servants. Candles are burning, hands are held, Rocky calls out for the spirit of Val to appear. Val happens to walk into the kitchen and queries what is happening. The three dayplayers, Horacio, Soccorito & Lina get up and leave. Rocky is screaming go to the light, go to the light. Val thinks he is crazy, for once we agree. He keeps saying she is dead. Oh now I get it, Val is smitten with Rocky cause he is actually dumber than she is and that is saying something. She slaps him after he does a wolf stare at the fourth dimension ass. Hey he said fourth dimension, I didn’t. He loves it. All is right with the world. Val is back and Rocky won’t have to pay a drunken crack whore to berate him, Val will do it for free.
Mili is upstairs filling Granster Regina in on the reunion of Gloria and her Ma. Knock Knock, Mili goes to the door and Gloria is standing there. The reunion went well, she is going to see her mother.
At this point, I for one am convinced I will now spend an evening sleeping like a lamb.
Now in full Prick Mode, Consti comes to scream at Al, telling him he is ruining the company. Yes, it is about to implode after the twenty minutes Al has been at the helm, so unlike the kind nurturing Consti gave the company these long Viente Anos.
Al goes home and Bobby is in Al’s room. Al does a full lament to Bobby about his awful day, Bobby asks if he wants to be a heartless bastard like his father. Well Bobby is half right. Knock Knock, Mili comes in and starts her yelling at all Al full bore. If I was Al, I’d elope, just so I could give her the big smack down. Spousal Abuse is not so much of a crime in Mexico. Okay, I am not a supporter of Spousal Abuse, but damn these people. This guy is already so whipped. Mili is going to tell him how to run the business.
Al quickly tells her that he made nice with the employees and everyone still has there job. So now they kiss makeup and start talking about getting married in secret. Karla is standing out in the hall and Al is like shhhh let me close the door. Too late Karla has the 411. After closing the door, Al and Mili start serious kissing and Te Amoing. We all know that is as far as it is gonna go.
Next we see Karla on the phone with Andrea, she says, “Have I got some news for you”. Andrea is thrilled she says soon Al will be only hers. Karla wants to know why. Andrea is not really to let the Hija news out yet. Unaware that Consti can see the Mili Bastard and raise the Al Bastard. Yes Andrea best not to show your cards yet.
Damien goes to see Perleta and signs something over to him. He arrives home and Karla sees his face, he tries to brush her off, but she drags him upstairs, I guess sex will help, well I guess it can’t hurt.
The next day…finally
Gloves comes in to see Luci, she has yet another errand for him. He says send Rocky, nope she wants him to do it & listen “Princess that is an order”. Gloves counts with he knows she set him up to be murdered. Luci feigns surprise. She is so unconvincing. Really bad acting, which really translates to really good acting cause she had me at fake wide doe eyes and open mouth. Glove proceeds with the news that he has left a paper that should anything happen to him, the blame goes straight to her and all the deep dark family secrets will be revealed. If only Luci didn’t wax, she could have twirled her moustache with a foiled again.
Could someone PLEASE tell me, what the hell happened to Luci? I mean she is taking over companies, boinking her ex, putting hits on people. What happened to the pathetic, small Walmart suitcase packing bundle of drunken nerves? Did I miss her Assertive Classes or did Miss Sanchez’s eight grade class just do an abrupt rewrite of her personality?
Over at the company, Al meet with the workers who start demanding things like ten additional days vacation. He says no, they counter, he tell them to hit the bricks. Now all the workers are gone again.
Andrea tells Al she backs him all the way and she is really happy that he is so happy with Mili, by the by Al you should fire her. Anyway the Golden Boy believes her, she then starts asking questions about if Mili is maintaining her purity until they are married. Al asks why is she asking? Just curious. Geez just curious and classless too. Andrea gets that squinty eye look, thought bubbling, “You will be mine, oh yes you will be mine.”
Perleta is at the house meeting with Luci, this guy must have a serious off shore account, but I guess just keep milking it. The geese are still laying those golden eggs. Luci calls off the hit on Gloves, Perleta is ready to have him whacked, but Luci says no and explains about the paper. Gloves comes in on some pretense and before leaving tells Perleta he also named him in the paper. Egads now Perleta is foiled again.
Hard to imagine, but it appears Gloves is the genius in this group, okay so it isn’t hard to imagine.
Now, Consti gets a 9.5 on the RatBastard Prick Scale, cause yes Consti; Al is a spoiled Ass, but only in a spoiled rich I’m awesomely good looking kind of way. I mean he doesn’t have a bad heart and you are such an Ass to him. In fact you are an Ass to everyone who is weaker than you, Damien, Luci…everyone.
Damien is a spineless worthless human, but he knows it. You don’t know it.
Now then it looks like Al and Mili get in another huge fight over the workers…Who knew? I thought it was smoooth sailing ahead. I guess I won’t rest easy tonight.

Juan-Tuesday April 22, '08 A Wildly Fluctuating Job Market
Whew...this was a real rollercoaster ride with jobs lost, jobs regained, romances about to start, romances nipped in the bud, romance revisited. My mind is reeling...join me and get confused!
We begin with a brief review of the scene where Paula gets all tender and conciliatory and Juan is schmoozing, forgiving all her goofs...and hoping for a kiss.
Then we switch to the warehouse where Yadira blows in like a storm, only to find that Kike has been fired. Yadira looks thoughtful...and pained...like thinking is a new experience for her.
Back to warm- as -honey, deep lingering looks between Paula and Juan. Ah the good ol' days. Yvonne breaks it up by transferring a call from "la mujer misteriosa", our randy Laura wanting to make sure Juan shows up tonight, and in comfortable clothes no less, 'cause there's going to be another lesson--in ceramics, of course.
The temperature in the room drops about 30 degrees and Paula gets that little cat's ass mouth that she has when she's unhappy. She wraps up the discussion quickly and informs Juan, who has been babbling on the phone with Laura trying to make it sound like a business call, that there's no need to "hablar en clave" (talk in code), there's nothing between them after all (ouch! thinks Juan) and he's free to enjoy the company of his woman friend. Do I know her?, she adds casually. And actually she does, but Juan doesn't realize this.
We have a little mirror image scene where Juan leaves thinking she makes him feel like the best and worst of men, and Paula confiding to Marely that Juan makes her feel like the best and worst of women. Sorry, Marely fans, looks like Paula and Juan are going to end up together.
However Marely remains a big Paula supporter herself. She's already castigated Pastor for gossiping in the lounge that Paula is taking all the blame for the Campeoni disaster (Not Pastor's fault, no, no, no!!!) and later she will insist on accompanying Paula when Paula decides to go look for Cesar Luis (I guess we knew that was coming).
Ivonne comes into the office to ask for a few days off to have her tonsils out, not wanting Juan to know how seriously ill she is. And Juan asks Pastor to find some work for Flor's mother to do. This woman interests me...we never see her...she's always inside the hut or far away, kissing Flor good-bye before school. Will she always be a mysterious figure?
Now we switch to Topete, tyrannizing the classroom, stalking around with a big stick (ruler?) in his hand, wearing his patched elbow university jacket. The Juanito bullies have chosen Flor as their new target but Juanito defends her, saying when she gets new clothes she'll look great, whereas you will always have your stupid face. Bully numero uno is furious when his two buddies laugh uproariously.
Juanito and Flor continue their gentle flirtation and reassurance while Topete mocks them in the background. Could we hate this skanky guy any more?!
Mme Pomposo flutters around the schoolyard trying to find out what happened to her husband and gets the vague explanation that it was due to "restructuring".
Meanwhile, in the office, Juan discusses Ivonne's "tonsilectomy" with Fernando and wonders why she's so worried about such a simple operation. You think cancer is simple!? answers a stunned Fernando. And we break for an ad.
Juanito is reassuring Mme Pomposo that they'll talk to his dad and get this job switch straightened out...we hate this new guy, he adds...and I think I know him!
Juan and Fernando are still talking about Ivonne's situation. Fernando is understandably worried and somewhat gloomy But Juan exhorts him not to "echar sal" on Ivonne (jinx her) with his pessimism....and to remember, like the sportscasters say, "The last minute is a full 60 seconds!" Besides which, Ivonne is such a piece of work, even the Grim Reaper wouldn't want her! That finally gets Fernando smiling.
We have a brief, unfortunate shot of Alirio, emerging from the bathroom at Casa Cachon, wearing a robe, socks and shoes, vowing to devote all his time to Nidia now that he's back home. He's concocted a story to explain his absence last night, claiming to have been assaulted and left half clothed and utterly humiliated (well that part's right) in the street.
In the other bedroom, Stormin' Norman Yadira is digging out the real reason Kike was fired. It wasn't just because Angarita woke up in a bad mood (de pocas pulgas) but because Kike put the kibosh on Nidia moving in with him. She's furious and is ready to go rip a new one on Angarita. Who better or more qualified?
Juan is musing about his dinner/ceramics date as Fernando smiles knowingly (who says men only talk about sports?) and when Ivonne comes in,Juan tells her to always put through the "mujer mysteriosa" when she calls. And who would that be? Hey, it wouldn't be a mystery if I told you! Then he tenderly tells her to keep her chin up for that "tonsil operation" while Fernando gazes at her with equal tenderness. Anyone see a rerun romance coming?
Brief scenes with a despondent Lorenzo tearing up his textbooks and Paula vowing to go to Canada and find out whassup with Cesar Luis if its the last thing she does! And of course Marely insists on going with her, as I mentioned previously. So what if you're taking my house and home half-sister? I'm on your side.
Now comes a series of scenes between Angarita and Yadira but I'll compress them all into one. She comes in with both barrels firing and the more she storms the more bemused and entranced Angarita looks. Why?...'cause she reminds him of the fiery, tempestuous Nidia when she was younger...in fact she's the "vivo retrato" (spitting image) of the love of his life.
And along with promising to rehire Kike, Angarita ends up telling her how he lost Nidia to Samuel Cachon and how he would hate to see Yadira make the same mistake and lose her true love (Kike) the way he did. Yadira looks thoughtful again (and pained, like she has gastrointestinal cramps). Clearly, thinking is very hard work for her...and not particularly successful either. She denies that she has any feelings for that big lug, as Angarita maintains, she just wants justice...justice do you hear?!
That scene was fun...the scenes with Lorenzo, though, are poignant and painful. He's downgrading himself and his life, berating himself for being a mediocre man, a failure, a dreamer, a good-for-nothing....every insult his wife hurled at him previously and more. Devoted his life to his work and his students, only to be thrown in the street like a dog.
Senora Pomposa sends Juanito out to the yard to play so he won't witness this painful scene, but of course our little guy phones his papa and asks him to come to the rescue.
Which means of course, that once again Laura will be left in the lurch...this time "for a friend who's having problems" although Juan promises to come by later, and throws in some kisses, mua mua mua.
And speaking of kiss-offs, Topete (make that "Torpete") gets a good one from Kike who recognizes his voice and chides him for trying to find his mujer, who clearly prefers her own house to that hovel Topete has her in. Score a big one for Kike! Nacho mutters the classic telenovela phrase "no puede ser". That seems to be in every script ever written.
Back in the "chisme lounge", Julia is quizzing Ivonne. How come you lose your job? then you get your job back? then you're going on vacation? are you getting it on with Juan? Ivonne blows her off and then leaves with Fernando, who later, and with much tenderness, tells her no,Pastor is not going to take her to the hospital as planned....HE is...and he'll stay with her. A sweet good-bye and a promise of better things to come...if that operation is just successful.
Nidia's on the telephone telling Marely that Alirio is back home, after his supposed assault and then we have another mother-daughter scene with Ana arguing that Paula shouldn't go to Canada looking for Cesar...and if she does, well Ana's going with her.
My second favorite telenovela phrase is "quedar con brazos cruzados"...and,well, Paula can't do it! She MUST go, and Marely is going with her. Mama needs to stay and watch over the gallery. Let me do it my way! she insists. Now THAT sounds like the old Paula.
Kike is touched and happy that Yadira ran off to defend him to Angarita, And Yadira, or "Yaditzy" as Dorado Dave calls her, looks quite happy to be ensconced in the chair in the bedroom, chatting with Kike while the baby sleeps on the bed.
So Kike's got his job back, Yadira's got a job at the same place, but will Juan be able to reinstate Lorenzo at the school? He and Juanito do their little beard brush together and Juan heads off to do battle with the principal.
Said principal is tipped back looking at a magazine. Reran the tape twice to see what if it was a naughty magazine but couldn't tell. He flings it aside rapidly though and messes with papers on his desk as Juan bursts into the room.
There's some "cover your anatomy" bushwa going on with the principal assuring Juan that the orders came from above, he was just "following orders" so Juan vows to take it to the next level. He will be heard!
Besides, adds the principal, Lorenzo didn't protest his dismissal. That's because he has something this school doesn't! fires back Juan....DIGNITY!!!
Switch to Nidia on the phone, tremulously telling Ana she'll be out of the house in a few days and she'll get all the necessary papers to Paula. Don't rush, replies Ana. She's got so much on her mind...take a couple of weeks.
Cheering up, Nidia wants to commiserate with Ana about the loss of the gallery but hey, the news is good...Ana has a new partner and things are going great. Nidia is immediately jealous...I suppose this new partner is handsome, mature and loaded, right!? And indeed he does seem to be.
Well, we leave the Pomposo house with things still looking bleak. Lorenzo is staring at his chess set and suffering the effects of too much rum.
However, it's all celebration at the Cachon household. Alirio of course is jealous that Angarita has saved the day for Yadira and Kike (he stalked off with his breakfast earlier) but the mood is cheerier at dinner (except for Marely) with Yadira and Kike happy and cosy, Juan extolling his "rapprochement" with Paula and...taking it to the next level, saying he has the money in hand (a little lie, though he is making headway with the female loan officer) to make an offer to buy the house from Paula.
Marely, the one specter at the feast, grumpily tells him he can't make an offer to Paula tomorrow...because she's going on a trip...and Marely is going with her.
And we end with Juan looking muy, pero muy impactado.

La Traición, Tue., Apr. 22 - Be careful what you ask for. The Plan of Vengeance starts to go seriously awry.
and that it is about time he found out...
"Found out what?" says Hugo. "Found out what?" screams Hugo. "Found out that you and your wife arranged this marriage? Is that what you want me know? That it was nothing more than business, dirty busisness!" Lucas says that Hugo will know the truth. Soledad tries to stop him and at that moment (0f course) Boris and Ursula say that the police are coming and they have to get out of the cemetery.
In the Love Nest of Perversion, Beatriz is giving Alcides instructions on what she wants him to say, such as, "I love you Beatriz," etc. It looks like sex is what triggers memories for Alcides. In a post coital moment, Alcides has a couple of flashback memories about being with Beatriz. He begs Beatriz to unchain him so he can love her freely. Overcome with desire, Beatriz releases Alcides. Then he has another memory (well it's not a memory; he never saw Soledad in her underwear; let's call it a vision), this time of Soledad. He says her name. Oops, bad move. Beatriz gets angry and threatens Alcides with her gun.
At the Obregon house, Soledad is playing with the baby. Ester says that she is sorry for all that has happened. She imagines how it must have been for Hugo waking up in his coffin and not being able to do anything. (jeez, Ester, make Soledad think about that some more.) Soledad says that she should have been at the wake. Hugo was surely calling to her. Ester reminds her that she had just found out she was pregnant and was in a delicate condition. She couldn't have gone. Soledad says that she has to find the cure for Aurora's illness. She can't have her go through her life believing that she will be buried alive one day. Ester tells her to have faith. She is sure they will find a cure.
Boris (who only yesterday suggested that digging up Hugo's grave would be a great revenge on Soledad) now thinks that the Plan of Vengeance (PoV) can only lead to pain. Hugo seems to be suffering more than Soledad. Hugo ignores his opinion and gives Boris instructions about fetching Soledad in the carriage.
Lucas tells Ester, Soledad and Antonia that he is worried about the way that Alcides spoke to Soledad in the cemetery. He was supposed to have changed but Lucas doesn't think so. Ester doesn't understand how Alcides knew that the grave robbing party was at the cemetery. Antonia pipes up and confesses that she told Alcides to prevent the sacrilege of Hugo's tomb being opened. Lucas is angry. He says that Alcides was furious and could have hurt Soledad. Soledad doesn't want to hear anymore and takes the baby out. Lucas follows and tells her that he doesn't want her to go back to Alcides. Soledad says that Alcides has changed. Lucas asks her to at least let him tell Alcides that Aurora is Hugo's child. Soledad says that she doesn't like this deception but begs him not to tell Alcides the truth. Alcides is helping with her daughter. Soledad says that she has no choice. She has to stay with Alcides even if she doesn't want to.
Boris goes to see Dr. Max at his house. He asks him how he knows so much about Aurora's illness. He hasn't seen her since the day she was born. Dr. Max reminds him of the time when the baby's heart appeared to stop beating before she was born. He was convinced then that Aurora suffered from the same malady as Hugo. Whatever, says Boris. He tells Dr. Max not to come around to the Hacienda anymore or he'll have problems with Alcides. Dr. Max laughs, "problems with Don Alcides or with Don Hugo?" he says. Boris is impactado. He says that he doesn't know what Dr. Max is referring to. "How long will you keep this secret?" says Dr. Max. He has always believed that it was Hugo who survived the explosion in the mine. He reminds Boris of his efforts to retrieve Hugo's thermal coffin after the mine explosion. Boris says that he just wanted to keep something that had saved Hugo's life as a souvenir. Dr. Max then says that "Alcides" seemed to be pretty familiar with the operation of the chamber when Aurora was ill. "Think what you want." says Boris and leaves.
Soledad has flashbacks to her conversation with Alcides/Hugo in the cemetery the previous night, to Hugo's burial and to her 'Hugo slipping into the tomb' dream. She begs Hugo's forgiveness.
Guillermo and Enrico steal the Cabinet of the Dead Wife from Dr. Max's house. Hercu-less sees them with the big cabinet and decides that it is Jeremias' treasure. Margot is also there since she told Hercu-less about the Cabinet. Hercu-less chases after the diminutive duo. Dr. Max finds that the Cabinet is gone and Elena tied up. The duo have left a note saying that they will exchange the Cabinet for Elena. Meanwhile Hercu-less finds Guille and Enrico. For some reason, they have hauled the Cabinet up in the air on a rope over a tree branch. The branch breaks and the cabinet falls down. I guess they made furniture much stronger back then because the cabinet doesn't break apart. Guille and Enrico leave Hercu-less tied up and the cabinet and go to meet Dr. Max to make the exchange. Dr. Max has dressed Elena in her old clothes. She pretends to remember Guille but he realizes that she is faking. Dr. Max prepares to kill Guille and Enrico but Elena appears to regain her identity and saves them. She tells them that there is no treasure in the cabinet, only Dr. Max's dead wife. Meanwhile, Margot has stolen the cabinet. (I guess Margot is stronger than she looks too, how did she get the Cabinet into the cart?) She shoots off the lock and opens it. She is mesmerized looking at what is inside.
At the Hacienda, Hugo tells Dr. Max, "So you think, I am Hugo. The bullet must have affected your brain. Tell me, how do you plan to prove it?" "I don't know but I'll find a way," says Dr. Max.(All he needs to do is get Hugo into some enclosed space like a jail cell or a mine and he'll have a catalepsy attack) "If you're planning a scandal, think twice about it," warns Hugo, "I know for a fact that you dig up corpses from the cemetery, which is a serious offense punishable by hanging." He tells Dr. Max to get out. He doesn't have anything to say to him. Dr. Max says that he isn't finished. He has something very important to tell Hugo about his daughter. Soledad is listening outside the door. Presumably, she didn't hear the whole conversation. Now she prevents the doctor from telling Hugo that Aurora is his daughter.
Soledad tells Dr. Max that as long as he is here, he could examine Aurora. Hugo tells her that he does not like Dr. Max's methods. They will find another doctor to help Aurora. Dr. Max apologizes for barging into the Hacienda at gunpoint the previous night. It won't happen again. Soledad suggests that maybe Dr. Max is the only person who knows about her daughter's illness. She has thought it over and thinks that they should let Dr. Max examine her. She would be there the whole time. Hugo says that he has made up his mind and he's not changing it. "What if Aurora has another attack?" asks Soledad. "That won't happen," says Hugo. He tells Soledad that his father supported various scientists who are trying to find a cure for catalepsy. They haven't found much yet but they are doing research. "Why didn't you tell me this before?" asks Soledad. Hugo says that he didn't want to give her false hope. "Scientists like Dr. von Chirac?" asks Dr. Max, "Because if that's the case, remember that he died right here in this city." Hugo confirms that Dr. von Chirac is dead. "How do you know so much about these investigations?" asks Soledad logically. (We go to a commercial but apparently Hugo doesn't answer. I suppose he could say that the knowledgeable Boris could have told him about it.)
Dr. Max says that Dr. von Chirac was quite an eminent authority on catalepsy. It's too bad he's dead. "His son is continuing his research," responds Hugo and Dr. Max is impactado, "Von Chirac had a son?" he says. "We must talk to him right away," says Soledad eagerly. Hugo tells her that Von Chirac Jr. is in deepest darkest Africa and Hugo is trying everything possible to get him here as soon as possible. Soledad is happy. Dr. Max digests this new information. Soledad is worried that Aurora will have another attack. Hugo assures her that won't happen and to stay positive. Dr. Max says that Hugo should listen to his wife. He asks for the opportunity to prove that he could help the little girl. "Think about it," he says and leaves. Soledad says to Hugo, "Don't do it for me, do it for the baby." Soledad goes after Dr. Max and asks him to forgive Alcides/Hugo. He will have to accept that Dr. Max is the only one who can help the baby. "I hope so," says Dr. Max, "for your own good. Your husband shouldn't find out that he isn't the father of your baby and Hugo de Medina is the father." Soledad begs for God's help. She is at Dr. Max's mercy."
At the tavern, a mine worker tells the bartender that his family is ill. Paquito takes the opportunity to suggest to all who are present that the Medinas bring bad luck on those who associate with them. He reminds them that Armando, Hugo's father, was buried alive, then Hugo was. The barkeep mentions all the problems that have happened with the mine - almost killing Alcides twice and Arturo once. Working there is dangerous.
Hugo tells Boris that Dr. Max is very cunning. He is blackmailing Hugo because he knows that he is passing as Alcides. "But he doesn't have any proof," says Hugo. Boris says that Dr. Max represents a great risk. Has Hugo considered what might happen if starts telling everyone that you are Hugo. Hugo says that he won't do that. It would implicate him in grave robbing. (What if Dr. Max threatens to un-hypnotize Soledad? That seems a greater threat since Soledad would know that Hugo was not dead.) Hugo gives Boris a telegram to send that will bring young Dr. von Chirac here as soon as possible. (it's about time). Hugo tells Boris to make sure that young Dr. Chirac doesn't suffer the same fate as his father. After Boris is gone, Hugo tells the portrait of his father that, "The life of Aurora and my own life depend on him."
Soledad asks Marina to come to her bedroom. She wants to Marina to tell her everything that she knows about Hugo's illness. Ursula says that she shouldn't think about this any more but Soledad begs Marina to tell her how Hugo coped with such a disease. She imagines that he suffered a lot.
"Yes," says Marina. "Hugo was very sad. He thought all the time about how his father was buried alive. Until you appeared in his life and it all changed."
"Why do you say that?" asks Soledad.
"When Don Hugo met you his sadness disappeared," responds Marina, "he was like a new man with a desire to live. He even thought that you had cured him of his disease."
"Me?," says Soledad.
"Yes, you," says Marina, "He thought that you had saved him. That you had brought the desire to live into his life, the desire to move forward into a new world where there wasn't any suffering.'
"His salvation?" says Soledad crying. "Hugo thought I was his salvation?"
"Yes," answers Marina. "Hugo loved you with all his heart. He thought that you would save him from death and you didn't even love him!" Ursula warns Marina not to give her opinions but Soledad asks her to continue. (I have to point out here that Marina didn't know any of this when it was happening. Once again, the source of this information has to be Boris.)
"At Hugo's wake," says Marina, "your mother, Ester, was talking to Manrique next to Hugo's coffin about how you were going to marry Alcides. Can you imagine how sad Hugo was when he heard that? Even though they appear to be dead, people having a catalepsy attack can hear. " Soledad confirms that Alcides has told her this. "Poor Hugo. I hope you understand that is why Boris and I don't like you," finishes Marina.
"My God," says Soledad. "This is too much."
"You said you wanted to know the truth," says Marina.
Lucas tells Rebeca that Alcides has been so agressive that he is afraid that Alcides will harm Soledad like he did before. Rebeca offers to visit Soledad so that Lucas could be calmer. (Right, that will help a lot.) Lucas is grateful. Rebeca suggests that Lucas should get Alcides to trust him. Lucas say that is impossible. They don't get along. Rebeca suggests that he invest in the gold mine. Lucas says that he doesn't have that kind of money and he just got his finances straightened out. Rebeca suggests that he invest everything. He would become a rich man and be able to get closer to Soledad. (I take back what I said yesterday about Lucas justifying his existence.)
Ursula goes to see Hugo. She asks him to help Soledad come of out the state she is in. She is very bad and may die of grief. "Don't you think that you are exaggerating, Ursula?" says Hugo. "No," she replies, "After Aurora's illness and all that happened in the cemetery, Soledad hasn't stopped crying. She blames herself. I know you think badly of her but I tell you, I swear to you, that Soledad is the best woman in the world. I'm afraid," continues Ursula, " that if you don't do something, this grief will drive her crazy." Hugo has a flashback to witnessing as a child when his mother, driven crazy by grief, is calling her dead husband's name in the street and then throws herself in front of a carriage.
Hugo goes to see Soledad, "What do you want?" she says.
"I owe you an apology," says Hugo, "I was very hard on you. Soledad, there's no point in dwelling on my brother's tragedy. There is no way for us to avoid feeling guilty for what happened to him."
"Don't forget that my daughter has catalepsy," responds Soledad, "I don't want something like that to happen to her. Don't you understand?"
"I want you to stay calm," says Hugo, "I'm doing everything I can to find von Chirac's son."
"Why are you asking me this?" responds Soledad, "Don't you know that I can't have a moment's peace knowing that my daughter has this terrible illness?"
Hugo tells her that if there is an emergency, Dr. Max can examine Aurora." This really bad idea makes Soledad all happy. She thanks Hugo for changing his mind.
"Don't thank me," says Hugo, "my mother suffered a lot when my father was buried alive," He can't resist twisting the knife by saying, "I know it wasn't the same for you since you didn't love Hugo but I don't want you to suffer the same fate. I don't want you to go crazy. I don't want you to suffer more."
Boris interrupts to say that there is serious trouble at the mine.
Jose, one of Arturo's men, tells him that the men won't work in the mine anymore because the Medina family is cursed. Using the latest HR motivation techniques, Arturo tells his chief henchman, Raul, to threaten Jose's family and do what is necessary to get the men back to the mine.
Eloisa comes to see Soledad, who is wandering around the garden in a daze. She asks Soledad to be her matron of honor. Soledad says that with everything that has been going on, she has no energy for anything else. Eloisa says that she understands. A woman comes running up to Soledad saying that her daughter, Aurora, (the woman's daughter, not Soledad's daughter) has suddenly taken ill and they don't have money to pay for a doctor. (A long, long time ago these people helped Soledad when she was running away from one her many perils and Soledad named her daughter after theirs.) Of course, Miss "I have no energy" Soledad doesn't just give the woman some money to get a doctor, she decides to go to their house. Ursula will stay with the baby and Eloisa will go with Soledad. (After the incident in the market, Soledad isn't supposed to go out without an escort so this is Soledad's crazy stunt of this episode.)
Hugo's reasoned arguments to convince the workers to stay at the mine are unsuccessful. Boris says that this will ruin his plans. Hugo says that they will figure out something. (Maybe they could import coolies from China?) Arturo shows up and says not to worry. He is handling the problem. Right now, his men are teaching a lesson to the families of the workers. (So now these completely innocent people are being harmed because of your PoV, Hugo.)
Dr. Soledad examines the sick child and decides that she has to go to the city. Outside, there are gunshots. Soledad and Eloisa go to look and see Raul threatening an old man. He asks where Jose's wife and child are. After the commercial, the situation has deteriorated. A mob is attacking the house which is protected only by a rattan screen. Soledad sends Eloisa, the woman and child out the back. Eloisa tells Soledad she is crazy to stay there alone but Soledad says that as Alcides' wife, no harm will come to her. (Has she forgotten what happened in the market the day before?) Taking advantage of the situation, Eloisa drops a lit candle on the rush floor of the house as she leaves and bolts the back door. The mob shouts that the house is surrounded and there is no way out. Soledad tries to escape but she is confronted by a wall of flame. The credits roll.
Tomorrow- will Hugo be too late to save Soledad?

Guapos: Monday 4/21/08- "Incompetence and Insubordination"
At the mansion, Karla is trying to gather info for Andrea and she gets caught by Braulio while she’s listening at Regina’s door.
Inside Regina’s room, Al and Mili are telling her of their plans to get married in secret. Granny gives the couple her blessing and is told she’ll be the only guest.
Alone in his office, Connie gets a phone call about Damien. The person isn’t too forthcoming with information, but does say the word “casino”. This gets Connie to thinking.
Luciana takes a call from Perlata.
Socorrito and Horacio lament over how terribly Lina’s mother has treated her. The couple decides they need to support Lina.
Meanwhile, Lina is crying on the shoulders of Mili and Gloria. She’s upset with how Roxanna treated her and when Gloria offers her comfort, Lina lets the cat out of the bag and tells Gloria that at least her mother is looking for her, to ask for forgiveness. Gloria is confused and Mili tries to get Lina to shut up. Gloria realizes her friends have been keeping some important info from her. Upset, she takes off.
Luci orders Brau to go pick up her dress---she’ll need it for the dinner party she’s planning for her and Connie’s anniversary. The majordomo questions why he’s being sent on a errand and Luci tells him he’s the only one she trusts with the task, and besides she knows how much he likes her clothes.
At the office, Bobby is summoned by Connie. He wants to know how’s it going with Damien. Bobby says “good”. Connie asks him for a favor---tell him what’s going on with Damien’s bank accounts. Bobby says he knows nothing and Connie says he believes him and hopes that Bobby’s telling him the truth (the last bit was said in a mildly threatening manner).
Mili follows Gloria out to the garden. Mili wants to explain, but Gloria has no interest in talking. She tells Mili she’s got no mother, no friends, nobody!!
Bobby goes to Damien and tells him he wants the account Damien set up in his name cancelled. Damien tries to talk him out of it, to no avail. Damien promises to take care of the matter the next day. Bobby leaves, Perlata enters—while taking a call assuring the person on the other line that “they know what to do.” With no other option (his words, not mine) Damien asks Perlata for his help with hiding the money. Sure, Perlata says, but at a cost of 20%.
Karla is rubbing Luci’s feet (is this really a maid’s duty?). Karla tries to pump Luci for some info, but Luci’s not talking---she’s too preoccupied. Valeria comes in and says she needs to talk. She gestures for Karla to be dismissed and Luci sends the maid off. Val asks her mother to send her away for a couple months. Luci questions they why of it all, and Val says she needs to get away to clear her head before she does something stupid in the name of love. Luci agrees.
Back at home now, Connie meets with Padre Manuel. He tells the Padre that he wants to take care of Mili. PM thinks this means that Connie is wanting to spill the beans that Mili’s his daughter, but that’s not what Connie has in mind. Mili and Regina come into the study, Mili acts quite properly when greeting the priest and Regina is glad that her lessons have taken hold. PM tells Mili that Connie’s got something to tell her. Connie sends the priest a dirty look (that’s got to be some sort of sin---cardinal, venial? --who knows). Connie is at a loss for words and Regina prompts him on, she wants to know what he’s got to say to Mili. He tells them that he’s decided to help Mili with her school expenses and Regina thinks that’s very generous. Mili says “thanks, but no thanks.” She doesn’t want his help, she’ll work for the money to pay for her education. Mili leaves and Regina tells Connie she’ll work on convincing Mili to take the help.
Brau is just outside the dress shop. He drops something and at that exact moment a gunshot is fired. Luckily, it misses Braulio.
Connie tells Padre Manuel that he’s not ready to tell Mili he’s her daddy. PM questions Connie’s motive. It is because of his political career, he can’t dirty his reputation (methinks he’s got/done enough things to mar his image already). Padre Manuel defends Mili and says she’s not a dirty mark!
Val fills Rocky in on her plans to leave. He asks her not to go. She says it’s a done deal. He asks if she’ll write to him, she says nope.
Lina tells Mili she should accept the Belmonte’s money for school.
Gloria comes back from her pity party and Mili tries talking to her again. She lets Gloria know that she just found out and hadn’t thought of a good way to give her the info on her mother. Gloria thinks Mili betrayed her and Mili stresses that in no way could she betray a friend like Gloria. Gloria tells Mili she has no interest in getting to know this woman, as far as she’s concerned she abandoned her and therefore Gloria no longer has a mother.
Horacio and Socorrito have a little snog in the kitchen. They are interrupted by Braulio’s return. He’s in shock, but manages to tell them that he was at the point of death.
Luci receives the news that her plan failed, but is assured that the problem will be resolved. Perhaps she and Perlata need to hire some goons who aren't quite so incompetent.
Val packs and admits to Pilar that she’s leaving because she’s got feelings for Rocky. Pilar wants to know why the Belmontes all have things going on with the servants.
Gloria goes to see PM and tells him that she’s got no interest in meeting her mother and she just wants to be left alone. Just then her mother shows up and Gloria pretty much tells her the same thing.
Rocky loads Val’s things into the taxi and says a very teary-eyed goodbye.
It is the next day and Connie is upset to hear that there will be a dinner celebration for his and Luci’s anniversary. He says the last 20 years are nothing to celebrate, in fact to him the party will seem like a funeral.
Luci sends Braulio out again. This time for flowers. He tries to tell her he’s not comfortable leaving the house, but she’ll hear none of this. After he leaves, Luci places a call to Perlata.
Damien goes and asks Al for some money. Al informs him that Connie put out a directive---no Belmonte Enterprise money should be given to Damien. Damien tries to pit Al against his father, asking his nephew to ignore Connie’s orders. Al won’t do it and Damien gets angry.
Gloria tells Mili about what happened with her mother. She asks Mili why does she cry so much when she doesn’t care.
Connie meets with someone (a goon perhaps?) and gives him money to fix things.
We later see this someone—I guess he’s a foreman-- in Al’s office with a whole bunch of workers. They are refusing to follow Al’s orders, they insist that they only answer to Constancio. Al tells the that he’s the new president, so they better get back to work or they’ll be fired. They complain some more and Al tells Andrea to call down to personnel and have their walking papers drawn up. The men leave the office and the foreman tells Al that there will be consequences. Yeah, where I work, insubordination is a fireable offense, think those would be the consequences.
Connie spots Bobby, Damien, and Perlata outside the bank. Later he gets Bobby to get in the car and demands to know what’s going on.
Rocky overhears Luci on the phone, she's learning about someone's death (I think a relative of Val's friend Barbara). She mentions the cab ride to the airport and Rocky jumps to some very big conclusions and thinks it was Valeria who died. He runs out of the house in grief.
Brau goes to the flower shop. A masked man comes in pointing a gun at him. The shopkeeper clobbers the masked man over the head with a clay pot.
Mili visits Al at work. They make lunch plans, but before they can leave the workers come back into the room. They complain about how they’ve been fired when they’ve got kids at home, a sick wife, bills to pay, etc. Mili is upset that Al’s responsible for these men losing their jobs!! END OF EPISODE

Yo Amo a Juan, Mon. April 21 - Kike Needs a New Job While Paula Already Has a New Personality
To begin we revisit Ivonne has her job back, Juan and Fernando brag about women. Paula looks generally unhappy but since she hasn't told anyone why, she is losing a lot of attention getting. And Laura prepares for a romantic dinner with Juan featured as the main course.
Angarita affirms that he is tossing Enrique out on the street. His job is gone at least Anga agreed to pay a normal severance package. Anga smirks when Kike tells him he will feel guilty for the rest of his life.
In the elevator Juan and Fer play the tall hot men that they certainly are, enjoying the charms of so many women, which they certainly are. Fernado tells him how jealous Paula was when Juan didn't return to work. Juan brags about how his dates with Laura are such a steamy pleasure.
Kike helps Nidia with her packing box. They discuss Perafan's disappearance, then Kike has to announce to her that he was fired. Impactadisima, this is so unlike Angarita.
Juan introduces Fernando to his new (to him) shiny RED Ford Mustang. He isn't completely satisfied with Fer's underwhelmed reaction. They discuss how BIG Juan is very different from his predecessor Cesar Luis the short. Juan sees himself ushering in a new age with a very different image and character. He prompts Fer to tell him what he wants to hear that when people see him in this shiny cool Mustang they will think Farell is in the hands of someone???? Fer fills in low class, crude (charra) NO, Juan says he means a man of the people (popular). This new era will assure people of his high principles, traditions and commitment to honest hard work.
Back in the prison Perifan runs down a hallway with his buddy Manzano.
Fernando and Ivonne rush off to lunch barely avoiding Heriberto from snatching Ivonne for a tryst of his own. At the restaurant Ivonne begins to question Fer's true reasons for being so nice to her and inviting her out.
Heriberto is complaining of Ivonne slipping through his fingers again. Gaitan points out that he is treating women like objects. Heri isn't worried about that but he resents the competition from Fer and will do what he has to to gain Ivonne. Gaitan criticizes his bitterness while encouraging Heri to open his heart to him. Heri only wants to do open heart work with Ivonne.
Ivonne finally spills her great fear of losing her life. Fer cheerfully tries to emphasize all the advances of medicine and is sure she will ocme through the operation and continue her life for many long years. Ivonne isn't so sure, her disease is very advanced too. She mostly wants everyone to treat her as before, she would prefer that Fer and she fight like they always have. He promises to be there for her with sweet sincerity.
Perafan and Manzano try to get a meeting with the director of the prison.
Paula is pampered by her concerned and warm Mom. Like Fer, Anna is in the position of pumping Paula with the positive outcomes that may result from investigations of where Cesar Luis has gone.
The prison's sexy secretary agrees to interrupt the director for the guard. The director is totally unhappy at the prospect of recognizing that they have the wrong prisoner since this means they have to admit and possibly report Gutierrez' escape.
Ivonne and Fer return to the lizard lounge. After Ivonne goes off to the powder room, Heribert is waiting to pounce on Fer.
Alirio is trying to explain his dilemma of being in the prison. The director explains the essential problem that he was never registered as a proper visitor. Delirio tells him that he signed in as Sara Guttierrez, for the day of conjugal visitation. Everyone laughs.
Juan and Juanito enjoy the attention the Mustang affords them but they are so cute in matching sunglasses, they don't really need the car to intrigue females of all ages.
Paula is doing painful flashbacks of pathetic memories of splitting up with CL and then Juan answers her call in his Mustang and she actually apologizes for her behavior in the office. Juan is all over accepting her apology and further thinks how he would like to kiss her doubts away. He clutches his steering wheel and she her bear.
The strutting and posturing of Fer and Heri accelerates which only Ivonne is able to cool down to avoid a fisticuffs. The lounge lizards smell the hormones and gather from their sunning spots. Fer adds that he and Ivonne have been friends for years. Ivonne scolds Heri and warns him to let her work in peace. Julia scuttles across to Ivonne's desk to stir the waters. Ivonne tells her to mind her own business too and not make this something bigger.
Alirio is talking himself in or out of a corner. Manzano says he didn't realize Alirios errors/slips (resbalones) Everyone except Alirio is laughing heartily now. He doesn't see the humor. The director thinks if he wasn't coming for homosexual reasons, he must have been trying to help Gutie excape. Alirio quickly accepts that he was only there because he missed Ramon so much. And he admits that Gutie is his partner, lover.
Juan and Juanito go to Flor's and Juan goes in to convince her Mom that he will give her a job so that Flor can go to school. Juan can't resist making his son happy since this makes his eyes shine so.
Aliro now adds that he really has to be going because his wife is waiting for him. The director is more confused but tells Alirio that he will have to spend the night in jail. Manzano and the Director decide that Alirio is immoral.
Juanito and Flor discuss that Juan is so helpful and guapo. Flor says no one has ever before taken so much trouble just for her. Juan emerges with happy news that everthing is going to be great.
Marely serves tea to Nidia and Kike. They discuss how wonderful Juan is to help them with the house and wonder again where Alirio could be.
Laura is baiting her trap, with dinner and candles and lascivious thoughts.
Juan arrives home and realizes Marely's questioning his plans is jealousy, he has a dinner appointment. NIdia asks Juanito who this woman is. Juanito is clueless. Marely prods Juan to find out who this woman is. He leans in suggestively to tell her it is a SECRET.
Ana advises Paula to talk to Juan who has been with her through all of her bad times. But he has changed whines Paula. You mean he has money and power now? Ana the wise Mom encourages her to learn to get along with him in harmony.
Back at the Casa Cachon, Juanito has his own plan. He begins to cough and sag in the bed. He has a fever and cough that make Papa Juan run about wildly planning advanced medical treatment to face this crisis. Through the packing chaos, they determine that Nidia has a thermometer in the medicine cabinet. The temperature is high 39 degrees. Juan on the verge of hysteria rushes down to call Laura to cancel the dinner. Juanito pulls out a hot water bottle as the grin spreads from ear to ear. Laura is dressed to kill or at least commit one of the seven. deadly sins. She grits her teeth as she assures him that Juanito's well being is the only thing to worry about but tries to extract a promise that this date will resume tomorrow. Juanito has his personal plan that no one but Marely will do for Juan's love interest.
Juan is sitting in the principal's office being assured that Flor will be admitted to the school free. Flor shows up with her mother with only a concern for not having her uniform. They scamper off to the classroom.
Alirio who has been sleeping on the cold prison floor is released by the prison guard who says they have decided not to bring charges against him. His back hurts which causes him to be cranky and begin to complain of injustices... but thinks better of it and follows the guard out.
Juan enters a bank and finds yet another yummy bank loan officer whose shapely legs are adorned with a really short skirt. Who knew there were so many loan officers waiting to serve hunks like Juan. Oh is this the same one, she admits that Juan has been such a good customer. He he kisses her hands and sincerely says he must borrow a lot of money to help his family.
Alirio tries to sneak in the house but Nidia leaps out at him. She smells perfume on him and where has he been??
Nacho er, Ignacio Copete is introduced to Juanito's classroom by the principal. The classroom is impactadisima al maximo.
Gaitan has to tell Paula that the meeting with Campeoni was a disaster the day before because she wasn't there. They continue discussing, Paula realizes that Juan has been against this purchase from the beginning and she accepts responsibility {{{am I hallucinating or what}}}. She is making a charming point about keeping ones personal issues and work issues in different baskets when Juan knocks on the door. Juan comes in, Gaitan leaves so Paula can explain what happened at Campeoni the day before.
Juanito want to know when Professor Lorenzo will return. The crowd turns vicious, the Principal is irritated but leaves the class in Copete's hands. His first words to the cherubs is SILENCE. So effective. He then demands that the children tell him who they are.
Paula totally takes responsibility for trashing the Campeoni deal. Juan is charmed out of his mind.
Yadira shows up at the market and finds out Kike has been fired by Angarita.
Paula continues that none of this was Gaitan's fault but only hers because she neglected this important meeting. Juan is putty in her hands with his forgiveness lovingly excusing her errors. This really doesn't seem like reality to me but it would be a coincidence, hmmm.
Next: More apologies from Paula and another interrupting call from Laura.
