Mundo de Fieras: 11/12/06 Joselyn's "Stairway to Heaven" tribute

Ahhhh Where to begin?
Why not start right off with our favorite crazy gal "Joselyn", it seems Frederico has consulted with Dr. Sigmund and Dr. Freud and they are of the opinion, some observation time is required. The beast "Joselyn" goes BSC and is restrained by two young handsome orderlies. She screams traitor & other hate filled phrases at Frederico, who cries at his daughter's distress. Once again proving no good deed goes unpunished.

Next we see Paulina and JC who are continuing the "We can make it work", "No it is impossible" conversation....Please love just shouldn’t be this much work, at least not in the first twenty minutes, yeah sure like three illegitimate kids, a drug problem and a bankruptcy later, maybe...but there is just way too much annoying angst in this relationship. Please just shut-up.

Over in the big house, Dolores is talkin to Demian about Tiberio and how he will not accept her as his Mother. Demian says he'll fix everything in that special way of his. Then he plants a big one on her and she tries to resist, her lips were saying No, No, No, but her eyes were saying Si, Si, Si or maybe that was just my take on it.
It was kinda one of those rough moments full of demented Demian promises to come.

Over in the Naco neighborhood everyone is hanging out at the Pozale Stand...which is probably a pretty good place to eat, if you are ever in the neighborhood and it only costs about $3.00 American. The taxi drivers are hanging out and the robust taxi lady. Oh No here comes Coyote and his side kick. Trouble starts when the two gangstas want beer and the Pozale stand doesn't sell beer. A speeded-up kind of keystone cop scenerio happens; no one gets the least bit hurt, but the bad boys are served up a healthy portion of humble pie. Ooooooppps pay-backs are hell.

When next we see Coyote & side-kick they are doin some plottin, see I told you about payback...Anyway I now dub them the "Turbos" cause that is what is painted in realistic gang graffitti in front of the place where the boys hang.

Leo shows up at the Pozale Palace and he is told of the earlier rumble, oh them's fightin words, he is all shades of territorial, when a lil dweeb taxi-driver realizes his cab has been stolen. Yeah the pay-back part. All the taxi-drivers including the tubster jump in a taxi and take off. This scene was more clowns in a Shriner Circus car than KeyStone Cops. I believe I missed the point of this entire scene or maybe it is just one of those things that doesn't cross cultural boundaries.

Now the "Turbos" are standin in front of their namesake and holding a huge roll of cash....okay guess they stole the taxi and took it to "Pedro's Quikie Chop Shop".
Well now they can buy some cerveza & other pleasures.

Miriam is at her shop lamenting to Ingrid (who I just gotta say, I am glad once again to see she is still alive...cause this is NO SPOILER...but I am betting two to one she gets whacked, she knows too much, except she doesn't know enough to get a better job with more benefits than running people down and getting smacked...she could work for Demian and probably get health insurance along with getting smacked), Miriam is yammering on and on about Joselyn being committed and Frederico...Yadda Yadda Yadda...like it matters now, I think the intervention twenty years ago would have been a better idea, but hey that's just me.

Demian confronts Tiberto once again about playing nice with Tiberto's Ma, Delores. Tiberto tries to protest, but Demian pimp slaps him like he is a working girl in Demian's stable. I feel bad for Tiberto, he's a grown ass man, and this one eyed crippled-guy is slappin him around with this it's for your own good smacks. Man remember how bad you hated that when you were a kid, well I imagine it is way worse when you’re like forty.

Poor Tiberto, he goes into the kitchen for some coffee. Simona is in there grillin Belen for like the past half hour, with this "What is wrong, you can tell me", yeah like she really wants to know, Belen has been knocking boots with Tiberto..TMI TMI

While Simona is getting the coffee, Tiberto wants to talk to Belen, I guess he thought maybe he'd relieve a little tension, but Belen is all, "you were kissing Karen", so Tiberto stomps upstairs like Frankenstein with a "Bueno Noches", Simona comes back in with the coffee asks Belen where Tiberto is and Belen gives her mother a curt "Bueno Noches"....Simona looks first in the direction Tiberto went, then looks after her daughter, I believe I saw the slight flicker of a light bulb going on in her thought bubble.

Demian is now tellin Delores that all is okay with her hijo. Regina comes in and for a second it is like awkward...Delores and Demian were a little too close but Demian covers and tells his beloved wife that he is almost fully recovered and he would like to keep Delores on as a companion for Regina. Regina just thinks this is a jolly idea. *****Demian Dude, I'm here to tell you, get the threesome idea outta your head, it ain't gonna happen*****

Later when Delores and Demian are alone, he tells her that it wasn't just for his wife, it was for him too. Delores protests that Regina is a swell gal and that is disrespectful, but alas Demian laments that Regina doesn't love him. Oh damn you Demian, now you made me feel sorry for you again, okay you have my blessing to revisit the Delores Days of your youth.

Joselyn awakens in her room at Buena Vista, everything is blurred and kinda out of focus, she is set on breaking out. I don't know if the out of focus is due to her psychosis or if she was medicated, if it was the medication, I say up that dosage to two animal tranquilizers.

Karen is having dinner or snacks or maybe just naughty talk with Rog and fills him in on his sister Paulina having the red hots for Paulina's cousin, JC. Karen don't throw stones cause you been playin nasty school girl with your cuz, Tiberto....

Paulina and JC approaching a table at the hospital carrying two glasses of Kool-
Aide, when JC gets bumped and some spills on Paulina's arm...this leads to him wiping off her arm, kissing and hugging. Oh NO!!!!! the dreaded romantic music signaling the flashback of the happiest 90 seconds (45 each) of their lives. Flashbacks of Spain, making heart shapes with their hands. Excuse me while I vomit.

Meanwhile back at the Crazy Hospital, Joselyn has made it out of her room and climbed like ninety flights of steps...okay really like five...
I just gotta throw this thought out there, what in the hell kind of hospital is this?
I'm no architect, but it seems to me keeping crazies out of harms way, should be job one...no steps to jump from, no big glass windows, locks on the doors, you know, the basics. Doctors and Clemente & Frederico and making up the cast watching Joselyn's big moment, "Mr. Deville, I am ready for my close up.", Joselyn will end it all cause first all her problems are everyone else's fault and Gabe is divorcing her. Frederico yells "Hold that thought" & speed dials Gabe on the ole cell phone.

Back at the other hospital, Paulina & JC are making out in the cafeteria, for the love of everything that is holy, people are trying to eat, "Get a Room", Gabe is watching, yeah I know, the two hornmiesters separate when they hear Gabe answer his phone. Yuck they are like wiping serious saliva off their faces.

Gabe tell them he has to go take care of suicidal Joselyn, but they should go see Lui, that is if they can quit making out for a minute.

Back in Nacoville, Leo is talking to his Mother who is ironing and then he kinda dances with her & gives her lots of hugs and kisses and tells her how great she is and how much he loves her etc..., etc...., etc...., it would almost be endearing if this was the Hallmark Hall of Fame, but it's not nuff said. Leo's slutty sister is currently mounted on the back of Coyotes bike, in her "PussyCat Dolls" outfit and kissing all over Coyote, while a taxi driver (I don't know his name, but the semi good looking one, looks on sadly)...You gotta say this for Elsa, every lil neighborhood has a prima slut and Elsa has proudly taken the trophy, Go Elsa.

Gabe arrives at the hospital everyone is standing below, begging Joselyn not to end it all, it is quite the circus. Joselyn keeps leaning over the railing (which is only waist high....more excellent security), and the growing cast of on-lookers bends forward in turn like should she jump, they could catch her...Nope defies the Laws of Physics, objects in motion. At this point I want people to start yelling JUMP, JUMP...Miriam and Karen now arrive upping the case to thousands. In her best Evita like speech Joselyn is threatening to end her life. Gabe makes it up the steps grabs her and the director....for a brief period taunts us into thinking Joselyn will go over taking Gabe with her, but no everyone is safe. Joselyn looking rather exhausted wants to go home, but Gabe puts the stops to that idea.

Paulina and JC are taking to that kid at the hospital, Lui, who has bright red abrasions all over his lil round cherub face, he is as perky as evah, Lui teases JC about his newspaper declaration of love for Paulina. It was gag-worthy, what a lil trooper. When Paulina mentions MA, Lui says he doesn't want to see her.

Meanwhile, MA is getting her house blessed by the local Padre, she is telling the Padre about Lui and missing him. Oh Please get a hobby.

Gabe arrives back at Lui's hospital,******I have been to Mexico City & driven around, I have no idea how these people get from one spot to the next so quickly, maybe there are special rich folk roads, I am unaware of, cause the Mexico City I know is bumper to bumper to bumper.******
He talks to Paulina about the earlier make-out scene in the cafeteria, she says that she loves JC, but because of family problems it can never work.
Gabe retorts, "Don't worry everything will be just great, these family problems are no real problem."
I swear this guy's head is so far up, that he never sees the light of day.

Lui is telling JC how he doesn't like MA anymore cause she made his Papi, leave his Mami...

Elsa the Slut arrives back at Casa de Charming drunk and shooting off her mouth, about Leo not really being Candlewhatever's real son. After she stumbles off somewhere to probably vomit and pass out, more touchy feely bonding goes on between Leo and Mami....this is the daughter, she always wanted. Leo is only an X chromosome away from being the bestest daughter evah.

Back at Loco Acres, Joselyn is all curled up with her head on her Miriam's lap. Miriam is worried about her and her attempted suicide. "It's okay Mami, I wasn't really gonna do it, I only did it for the attention." Ahhhhhh Miriam smiles and strokes her lil girl's hair.
*********And on that closing Note we hear Purring...like from big cats************

Does Joselyn need a Cat Whisperer?
Will Paulina and JC be able to find an empty supply cabinet?
Can Demien keep his growing Harem happy?

Heridas de Amor - Friday Nov 10

Luis Alberto listens in on Alejandro's conversation with Gonzalo as he tells him he has the proof against Cesar that he needed. He also tells him he's coming home to recuperate his family. Rebeca enters Florencia's room and reveals Fabricio's kidnapping thinking she already knew and Florencia becomes hysterical. She blames herself when Juan runs in and throws Rebeca out. Luis Alberto tells Nuria what he learned as they wonder what to do. Cesar insults his mother when Juan arrives and tells Rebeca that Florencia got worse and blames her. Cesar insults him as Juan defends himself. He throws him out as Rebeca says she's reporting him tothe hospital manager. Santiago talks to Nuria and tells her to clear her conscious. Luis Alberto calls Cesar.

Alejandro tells Miranda of Gonzalo's plans. He asks her when are they going to solve their problems. He tries to explain but she tells him he doesn't have to. He tells her she's going to listen even if he has to tie her to the chair. She laughs and agrees to hear him. He begins by telling her of the anonymous notes that his father received from fernanda and she says what that wasn't true. He tells her he knows that now and wants to put the pieces of the puzzle together. He tells her of the last letter his father received. She tells him she wants to drink something and he tells her he'll get it. She stops him and asks him if his bruise hurts and he tells her not as much as her coldness towards him saying the wounds of the body heal easily but not the ones in his soul. She touches his face and he starts tokiss her, in the heat of passion she pulls awayand goes to the window and closes the curtain, she grabs Alejandro and they kiss and make love on the floor of the study.

Fernanda and Juan try to calm down Florencia as she tells him she wants to be by hersself and she cries for Fabricio. Fernanda thanks Juan for being present because she would have gone crazy. He tells her of Cesar and she realizes Juan is the person who will put Berta in her place. Cesar tells Luis Alberto he'll kill Gonzalo when he returns to Mexico. Miranda tells Alejandro they shouldn't have made love and he says why not; she's his wife and they love each other.

They plan to keep putting the puzzle together when Daira calls. He tells her that he and Miranda are talking things out(is about time) he kises her and tells Daira that he will call her later becase right now he is busy.

Berta arrives. She sees clothes scattered all over the room, and asks, what is going on here? as she throws Miranda's shirt on Ale's face (loved that scene)Miranda with a big smile on her face tells her, do you want me to tell you every detail of what happenned or do you want to use your imagination? She tells Miranda that Alejandro is using her to freeze his fortune, that all he wants is to have a child, she can't have any of his money. She's surprised when he tells her his fortune is already frozen.Miranda surprises Berta telling her she knows about the clause and that she signed a pre-nuptial agreement. Bertha is pissed when Ale tells her toleave because they're busy, Miranda says we'll talk later as she kisses Ale , as he tells Miranda not to believe what Berta tells her. He also tells her of his plans to travel to Italy to settle the case once and for all as they kiss and he asks for his shirt back, Miranda says she is not giving it back, so Ale say ok they I'll take it myself to which she just laughs and he kisses her again saying it looks that you won't mind that at all!!

Juan tells Renata what Rebeca did as he denies to go be with her at the mansion. Miranda enters and comforts her. Berta wonders what other clause is in Alfredo's will when El Guapo calls her. She tells him to beat Fabricio but not to kill him. Florencia worries about her husband as Fernanda tells Juan that he should stay with his wife and has her permission to enter her house. Miranda tells Renata that she and Alejandro haven't reconciled just yet saying they need to talk but she's happy they are together. Renata tells Miranda not to be so harsh on Berta as she says that despite finding something negative, an argument supports the positive part. Berta asks Lucas what Cesar has planned. Renata arrives and Berta humiliates her and puts her down by insulting Juan. Daira brings a gift to Miranda from Alejandro. They talk about Rebeca and Liazania. Berta tries to manipulate Renata and makes her feel inferior. Fabricio meets Trinidad, a lady paid to take food to him. Berta arrves at Cesar's. They talk about Lizania when the doorbell rings. Lizania tells Cesar she came to say goodbye. She tells him she's leaving Mexico and that Alejandro is already in Italy. When Berta asks her why he's there she tries to run off but Cesar grabs her. Fabricio begs Trinidad to help him. Berta smothers Lizania with a pillow as Cesar tries to hit her. She cries and struggles to tell him not to hit her when she drops her necklace and falls into the couch holding her chest. Cesar tells Berta that Lizania is dead.

Mundo de Fieras - Friday 11/10/06

Juan Cristobal joins Paulina under her umbrella and swears in front of her and Karen that Paulina and only she is his one true love. He has never had any interest in Karen. Karen answers back that JC totally enjoyed their times together, especially when kissing her. JC contradicts her and says “You kissed me!” Karen reminds them they’re still 1st cousins and so nothing can come of it anyway. Pau tells her it’s their business and not to meddle. In the end Karen, the scheming little slut, wins by putting the seeds of doubt into Paulina’s mind and warning her off a man as untrustworthy as JC. “He’ll only make you suffer, Paulina.”

Clemente shocks Gabe when he admits that Mariangela is the lovechild from his affair with Aurora. Clemente says he intends to protect her as he’d promised Aurora he would.

Paulina tells JC that Karen reminded her of certain things (it’s apparent she can’t forgive or forget, or even give poor, soaked JC the benefit of the doubt!), so it’s best if he would just leave. Pau, though, is worried that he’ll get sick with all this foolishness (but not worried enough to listen). JC is in love and just as stubborn as Pau. He refuses to budge until she listens. He’s ready to remain there in the rain as long as it takes. She gets frustrated and goes back upstairs to her father’s apartment but still watches him from the window. A couple minutes later Gabe drives up and gets out of his car as the rain starts to let up a bit. He asks Juan Cristobal why he’s out in the rain in the middle of the street (like a dummy). JC explains he’s doing what Gabe said was necessary: convincing Pau of his sincerity. Gabe chuckles a bit and tells him to go home and he’ll work on Paulina to get those barriers between them to fall. Tomorrow morning will be better to resolve things. (How about just unselfishly telling Pau the truth, that she’s your adopted daughter and finally you can stop this ridiculous farce? What a dad!)

Upstairs Gabe tries to get his daughter to express her true feelings about Juan but she tells him she cannot get back together with Juan. She loves him still, quite a bit, but she is certain that it just isn’t possible. He accepts this answer and doesn’t stick up for JC’s side of things at all. (Thanks for nothing, Gabe!)

Mariangela is now living in the rebuilt house of her mother’s. Gabe, I think, rebuilt it for her. She prays to the Virgencita and says it’s best she puts distance between her and him, but she is not going to stay away from Little Lui who needs her and loves her as she loves him.

Leo is looking out his window at the rain that same night and tells Candy that his only thoughts are for Mariangela. He wants only to protect her and to love her. Candy reminds him not to hold out false hopes since Mariangela has been straight with him from the beginning about her feelings towards him. She mentions then that Elsa should be as good a child as Leo, but she cannot sleep at night never knowing where Elsa is and waiting up for her because she hasn’t come home. (Is this the first time that Leo has heard this?)

That night Elsa is with El Coyote who has showered bills of cash all over his bed. She literally rolls in it and he gets his bought and paid for bit of fun.

Karen drives off and starts crying. She swears vengeance because of the rage JC has caused by rejecting her. Well, she ends up somehow at a snazzy bar with Tiberio. She asks Ti what his plans are for his future. He says he’s interested in becoming independent of his father’s business and doing something on his own. Karen (like mother and grandmother) tells him if he makes her a business partner, she’ll be able to help him quite a bit (wink, wink). Tiberio laughs and paws her thighs and she laughs with him and continues to let him paw her thighs.

JC gets home late. Regina has been worried as heck. He walks in and she asks where he’s been. He explains why he’s all wet (you can say that again.....) and she just hugs him for “doing what you said to do, Mom,” and trying to convince Paulina of his love.

Jos comes into Miriam’s office and tells her how she brought Little Lui to Aurora’s funeral for just a bit to make sure that she was still La Sra. Cervantes Bravo and not Mariangela. Miriam says that was a good idea. So Jos tells her that she told Lui that “that woman” was the reason his father abandoned her. Miriam suggests she was skillful and that she should continue to take every advantage to poison him against his father.

Back at Demian’s, Dolores is angry and the two of them are fighting over why she had to tell Tiberio that she was his mother. She complains that she had no choice since thanks to Demian, her son attacked her thinking she was after him “as a man” and was sexually attracted. She reminds Demian that she’ll fight and do whatever is necessary provided her son comes to accept her. Demian wishes her good luck and lots of strength since she’ll need it, because the kid just isn’t happy with her at all. She says the least Demian can do is to support her in this, otherwise she’ll be forced to tell Ti the whole truth about daddy, too. Demian agrees then to support her and to attemp to get Ti to see reason, even eventually to admit he’s Tiberio’s father -- “when the time is right” of course. Dumb Dolores believes him.

Gabe and Little Lui are eating breakfast and Gabe tells him how much it meant to Mariangela that he came to her mother’s wake the other night, particularly since she was now all alone in the world. Lui surprises him when he unexpectedly answers that, “Mariangela doesn't interest me.”

Leo pays a visit to Mariangela. He tells her he is so anxious for her that he woke up in the wee hours and just had to see her. She thanks him and says she likes the solitude right now. He asks her if she might be able to love him half as much as he loves her but she says she wishes she could order her heart, but things don’t work like that. He still wants permission to come by and take care of things for her. He starts by offering to take her to the city to look for work and she accepts.

Meanwhile, Tiberio is screaming at Demian, “How could you have kept quiet for so many years? Why didn’t you tell me?” Demian answers that some things are not easy to explain, so “Why don’t we just agree to leave things as they are for now?” Tiberio refuses. He demands to know everything because it is his right to know but Demian says no. He also starts to twist the truth to his advantage, and says his mother left him without a care. She never once cared to look after him, but he’ll have to accept this and be nice to Dolores. Ti adamantly refuses but Demian says he will do it because he is ordering him. He explains to Ti that there are times when you give in and there are times when you only pretend to give in. This is a time when he only has to pretend to be happy she’s come back into his life. This way he’ll keep her from bothering him. Ti thinks it over.

At work, Paulina notices how sick JC is and worries. She tells him that he needs to go see a doctor. He refuses till she gives him a kiss and finally she gives in. Afterward she goes to get her car and he gets up off his chair. He’s been sitting on a heating pad the whole time. He burns himself while putting it away and gripes to himself that he took way too long to convince her. (Cute one, JC! Smart and even a bit original, too!)

Jos, the psyco-mom, has given her son a fish tank full of little fishies and she shows Little Lui, who is in the living room and otherwise alone, how to bang hard on the sides to make the fish come around. While he has his back turned looking for something, Psycho-Mom scratches something against the side of the tank which cuts deeply into the glass. Once she leaves, Lui continues to bang on the glass until the sides of the tank burst open and water, full of shards of glass, explodes in his face, knocking him on the floor. He starts screaming for the maid to come and help him. (I kept wondering if Mexico has a PITA, and what they must think, seeing all the little gasping, tail-flipping fishies dying on the floor above Lui's head while this scene was being taped.......)

The maid calls Gabe to let him know what just happened. He and the ambulance arrive just as JC and Paulina get to the hospital to see Leo about JC’s fever. Everyone goes into panic mode of course when they see Lui being wheeled in unconscious with bloody cuts all over his face. Jos, on the other hand, is drinking a toast to herself and her ingeniously successful scheme. (She is practically orgasmic over it!)

Frederico and Jos’s shrink are discussing the seriousness of her emotional and mental problems. Frederico says he’s not be able to do anything so far because Miriam refuses to have her put away or to let anybody interfere. The psychiatrist says his professional oath stops him from giving any details, just as with a priest, but her mental state is so delicate that she is dangerous. She probably should be interned he says, because they don’t want her to hurt somebody. (Brother, you're a day late and a dollar short.)

Ti defies Demian’s orders regarding Dolores despite Demian slapping the snot out of him and warning him never to challenge him again. Ti says he’d intended to follow orders, but his contempt towards her is just too great. He walks out and leaves Demian yelling at him to come back.

Mariangela returns to the neighborhood and one of the couples who own a small restaurant offers her a job. When she calls Gabe’s mansion to say hello to Candy they all find out about Little Lui’s accident. She runs off to the hospital to be at his bedside. (Although, I am fascinated to think how silly she would look if she could actually run in those stodgy 4" high platformed espadrilles she's always wearing......)

Jos comes into the reception area and starts crying and screaming, “Where is my son? Where is my son! I want to see my son!” and playing the role of the aggrieved mother. As soon as she sees Gabe she accuses him of not only killing her other child, but now almost killing this one as well. Leo comes in and tries to calm her down saying nothing can be resolved by yelling. She yells across the room that it all Gabe’s fault, taking her little son away from her and out of the house to live with him; he was so careless with him. “Nobody knows how to care for him like a mother!” “Nobody understands me!” She continues to rant the chant over and over and over and over. (Puh-leese!! Enough already!!My ears....where's my mute button......) Gabe just watches. He doesn’t say a word. I guess he’s falling for the guilt number still.

Miriam and Ingrid are discussing Clemente’s faults and his big fortune. Miriam says they wouldn’t have a single cent had it not been for her managing the family’s money. Clemente may not drink anymore, but he can’t be trusted with it. (Hey, if he doesn't die from a drowned liver then in a bit he will from rotted, charred lungs. So what's the rush?) She tells Ingrid she’s fixed it so he will not be able to have use of it. Ingrid says he could end up on the street and Miriam agrees, and the little wheels start turning. She answers something like “That’s right, he could end up on the street.”

Mariangela arrives at the hospital and they hug with Jos taking it all in. Mariangela tries to speak with Lui but he rejects her while pointedly acting excited to see everyone else who is at his bedside. Mariangela leaves then, heartbroken, particularly after Jos and he put on a big act about Jos’s worrying and great love for him. (Gagging here!! I am so gagging at this.) Gabe continues to stay quiet, just taking it all in. (He has got to know this is all a show by now, though. Doesn't he?)

Frederico goes to Miriam and threatens her that either she interns Jos in a sanatorium or he’ll make good on his right as her real father to do it himself. (Good for you, Freddie-boy!) It won’t matter who knows at that point that he’s her real father provided that it helps her get well. (You go, guy! You go!)

Clemente tells Mariangela’s priest that he plans to care for her now as promised. The priest advises him to clarify things with his two daughters.

Leo is about to give JC a shot for his virus, but JC manages to explain the ruse he used to get Paulina’s attention. Leo laughs. JC then asks about his love life and Leo tells him how he feels about Mariangela and how God’s designs have made a disaster of it for him.

Miriam hands over a signed document to Frederico and tells him, “Now you’ve gotten what you wanted, so get out!” He takes it and leaves.

Jos watches Mariangela walking out of the hospital and thinks, “I told you you’d cry tears of blood.” Just then Frederico calls her on her cell and tells her it’s urgent she meet him at the psychiatrist’s office.

Miriam informs Clemente afterward about Frederico’s intentions with Jos to get her professional help. She asks Clemente why he’s so surprised since he’s told her for a long time that Jos needs to be put in a psychiatric hospital to get treatment. “As it is,” she nags, “Frederico actually did something about it. He is more of a father to my daughter than you!” Clemente defends himself saying he loves both equally. Miriam just sneers.

Frederico rushes Jos into the doctor’s office. She sees the two doctors and asks her doctor why she was brought there. Frederico says he is only doing what is best for her. The shrink tells her that she’s there because she should be interned to receive treatment. She renounces Frederico’s friendship, screams, and spits out “Betrayer” at him repeatedly. Then she tries to leave but he grabs onto her and stops her. She curses at him and breaks free but when she opens the door to the outer hallway, two big male nurses are there to grab her. They drag her back into the office while she continues to scream and curse.

La Fea Más Bella #143 11/10/06 Studies in Passive-Aggressive Behavior

Ariel politely bids Lety adieu and smartly remarks "hey Fernando, did you know that Lety's boyfriend - LETY'S boyfriend - has a better car than yours?" "It's better than yours, too," Fern replies. Lety doubles over silently with laughter!

Lety excuses herself for lunch before Fern has a chance to interrogate her. Alone, he recalls the psychic's warning about his love, his business, and the truth, but he vows not to give Ariel the pleasure.

In the executive lobby, Lety and the cuartel discuss their lunch plans and mention that Lola won't be joining them because of her meeting with the lawyer. (I guess she has to skip lunch to make up the missed time, or something.) Alicia makes some cracks about Lety's "station wagon." Then Martha shows up and tells them about her air-eating illness; Alicia makes a snooty remark about the "strange ailments of the poor." Sara makes fun of Alicia dying of hunger at her desk while they have a nice meal.

Time to split up the stories!

Ariel and Marcia

Ariel calls Marcia and invites her to lunch. She has too much work, but agrees to meet with him in her office. "How strange," she says to herself. I guess he doesn't come around too often.

He visits and makes small talk, asking vaguely about Germany and Conceptos. (He keeps peering out the window.) Marcia rolls her eyes and asks if there was something specific he wants to know.

He says he asked Lety about her brand-new boyfriend, but she was evasive. Gee, Ariel, why do you suppose it is that Lety doesn't care to chat with you like a girlfriend?? Marcia tells him that his name is Tomas Mora, and that's all she knows about it. He admits that she did tell him that much too, but wouldn't tell him where he worked. She was very reticent.

Marcia tries to remember the name of Tomas's company. She says Alicia would know, and gets up to ask her, but he says no, not like that, it's too important. He wants to know all about him, but evidently from past experience he doesn't think Alicia is the most reliable way to get useful information. :-)

Marcia assures him that Fern has already checked him out. Ariel wants to know what "el" is like. Marcia says, the boyfriend, or the car, and giggles, but Ariel is not in a joking mood. She answers, well, what would a boyfriend of Lety's be like? He scoffs. "Like a house of horrors." She says he's a Mr. Nobody with some money; nouveau-riche; a nerd, like Lety, who works at some place that pays well. She adds that Fern always defends Lety, but pays her really poorly.

Ariel says they need to stay on the lookout, check this guy out and find out where he gets his money. Fern gives Lety so much responsibility that she's practically running "our" business. She agrees and asks if that's why he came over here.

He says no, he came over to invite her to a cocktail party. He's entering into negotiations with some entity or other and tonight's cocktail is for getting acquainted. I think he says his date cancelled on him at the last minute. (I'm guessing she killed herself. Or he killed her. I still want him to be a crazed murderer so he can go to jail.)

No, upon replaying the scene it appears that some investors backed out at the last minute, so now he needs to raise more capital. She says really? But haven't you already invested all of your money? He says yes, but it's not enough. He's going to tell her the truth now so she won't be surprised later: At the Big Meeting, he's going to cash in his share of Conceptos. She squints with surprise, and he grinds his teeth in self-satisfaction.

She tells him he can't do that, that their parents would never have wanted them to split up Conceptos. He says his decision will depend on the financial condition of Conceptos at the Big Meeting. He'll stick with Conceptos if it's solid, as Fern claims.

On his way out, he catches Alicia yawning at her desk. When she sees him, she hurriedly gets up and starts exercising, I guess hoping he'll offer her some money or something. I really like her outfit today; I wonder what the bottom part of it looks like since she obviously forgot to put it on.

Ariel taunts her about yawning from hunger. He suggests that she should eat every day. He says he doesn't know if she is going to eat, but the food for sure. (I realize this makes no sense; I can't figure out exactly what he's saying, but I can only assume that it's extremely rude.)

She says "I'm going to eat at Le Noir, but first I am finishing my exercise routine." He asks if someone invited her, because it's too expensive for her.

(Le Noir is the most expensive restaurant in town - we found that out several months ago when the chick who "borrowed" Tomas's phone tried to get him to take her there for dinner.)

He gets on the elevator, and she mutters, "I AM going to Le Noir. You'll see, you wretch!"

Only For Women, part II

Saimon wants to whisk PM away for lunch, but she says she has plans and they're "solo para mujeres." Saimon whines... and cries... and begs... eventually Lety rescues PM and they all pile into her car - PM rides shotgun, while Sara, Irma, Martha, and Juana all sit on top of - I don't know what you call this - when you sit on top of the seat backs in a convertible so that it's really super-easy to topple out of the car when it's moving.

Fern and Omar come out just as they are leaving. Fern and Lety exchange murderous glances. Lety nervously puts on her seatbelt and backs out of her parking space.

With the very first jolt of the gas and brake, I fear for Juana's life, since she's just hanging on by a butt-cheek. It'd be a lot safer if just the two in the middle sat up top and then Juana and Sara could sit in the seat and, like, hold their legs to keep them from flying out, but I suppose it's harder to keep everyone in frame that way.

They are very rowdy as Lety navigates the streets of Mexico City. They want to listen to the radio, but they're not happy with the music that it plays. She admits she's not good at operating the radio yet. Martha says she's not so good at operating the car, either! She's driving just like her father - slow and not always in a straight line. It gets worse when she tries to fiddle with the radio - they all hang on for dear life (but still no one actually tries sitting in the seats).

Just as they recover from that, they nearly get into a wreck. Lety slams on the brakes. Instead of totally freaking out like I would, Lety just says "see what great reflexes I have?" and continues driving. She adds "and it's a good thing, because I'm still learning the difference between the gas pedal and the brake!"

(Martha complains that she feels queasy. How much do you want to bet she'll recover when her lunch arrives?)

Then they are passed by Omar and Fern. PM screams "Hi, Mr. Hot-Guy!" ("Licenciado Papacito" - not sure which of them that's addressed to.) Irma is scandalized by this. That's no way to talk to your bosses - what will they think? PM says they'll think they're happy, which they are. Lety agrees. They're away from Conceptos now - that stuff doesn't matter.

Irma worries about being late for Luigi. PM flirts with three men in a neighboring car. Irma disapproves of this, saying that it's disrespectful to Saimon. Lety cheekily replies that even if PM's on a diet, she can still look at the menu! PM wants to invite these guys to hang out with them, but says she doesn't want to get Lety in trouble with Tomas. Lety says don't worry about that. She grins foolishly, enjoying the mens' admiring glances! Just then, the traffic light changes, and they wave goodbye.

They get to the restaurant. Martha immediately asks if they have quesadillas. The plate captain is looking around the room, obviously wondering where he is going to seat this unlikely gang. Or if he even should. He tells them they need to wait a moment for a table.

Then they see Fern and Omar having their business lunch. Irma is spooked and wants to leave immediately, but Lety and Juana convince her to stay. Fernando approaches and wants to know if this was the reason she so urgently needed to leave the office rather than talk to him.

PM explains that Lety invited them to dine with her. He nods stupidly at this. Martha adds that Tomas will be paying for their lunch. Seeing that they know Fern and have the means to pay, the plate captain agrees to seat them. Juana thanks him effusively for his kindness.

Fern pulls Lety aside rather roughly and wants her to sit at his table, or at least come by and say hello, but she coolly refuses. She's busy, and it's her lunch hour. He asks what game is she playing. She denies any game. He points out that he had reservations here and then she just happened to show up with the entire cuartel. She claims (LIAR!!) that it was the cuartel's idea to eat at this restaurant.

Lety approaches the cuartel, who are now seated, and begins to say, "Don Fernando-" when Fern angrily interrupts and says he already knows that her boyfriend is paying for everything. Lety smiles angelically and starts again to say that Fern wants them to leave. They all start to get up, but he says no, it doesn't bother him at all that they're there. She says "don't worry, Don Fernando... FI is going to pay for it!" Just to make sure he knows. :-) He coughs violently (choking on bile, no doubt) and says he knows that. She asks, then why do you seem so upset? He denies this, and in return, he tells them that Lety's going to come to his table and say hi to their client.

She goes to Fern's table, says hi to the client, and then - both to be polite to the client and annoy Fern - she plops herself onto a chair. Omar asks "what with this massive presence," referring to the cuartel, and she gives a non-answer, saying we're going out to eat. Fern offers her something to drink, and she says no thank you. She gets up, says goodbye to the client and shakes his hand, and rejoins the cuartel. Omar and Fern still have their hands in midair, surprised that she didn't shake theirs too, so they awkwardly shake hands with each other!

The women are intimidated by the prices on the menu, but Lety tells them to get whatever they want, with no limit. They don't understand the menu, which is entirely in French. (Naturally, PM says she just wants whatever is the most expensive thing; Irma chides her for taking advantage.) They ask Lety to translate it for them, but Lety (who knows French, but perhaps not French food) airily says that would take too long, so she's just going to order lobster all around, if that's okay with them.

They're amazed. Some of them have never had lobster before. PM again loudly says that Tomas is paying for all of this. (From the other table, Fern glares intensely at Lety's back. No one seems to notice.)

The waiter wants to know how they want their lobster, and since Lety doesn't know one way from another, she covers her ignorance by telling him to surprise them. She encourages them to pick out appetizers too, and they are overwhelmed by the extravagance. (She turns around to shoot a scornful glance at Fern.)

Martha lists some items that sound like the entire Taco Bell menu, and Juana reminds her of her stomachache and her air-gobbling. ;-) Irma adds that this restaurant probably doesn't carry such things. Martha acts indigant, like she wants to leave.

Lety asks the waiter what he recommends. (Fern is making all kinds of faces in the background.) The subject of caviar comes up. Sara says she definitely wants caviar, but very well fried please! PM says don't be a dummy - you don't fry caviar, you parboil it! She claims she had it once when she went out with an executive. Lety tells the waiter to bring some caviar, and some crab, and whatever else looks good. (Fern covers his face with his hands. No one seems to notice.)

The waiter suggests langostinos. Right - langostinos are a great first course for lobster! Lety eagerly agrees. Unfortunately, Fern is out of frame at this moment; I suppose poor Jaime Camil was at a loss as to what sort of face to make at such ignorance!

The waiter asks if they would like some white wine? PM wants something stronger. Lety orders champagne. They are aghast. (Fern gapes. No one seems to notice.) PM is ecstatic over how awesome Lety's boyfriend is. Irmita gets spooked again and wants to leave, but they convince her to stay. The waiter asks what kind of champagne, and Lety says "the most expensive." (Note that she doesn't say "your best.")

Martha is happier now, but still grumbling because they don't have chalupas.

They eat and critique the strange foods. I think Martha says that the caviar tastes weird and the lobster's skin is too dark.

And now for the stunner: Lety overhears that Fern's credit card has been refused! Lety offers to pay their bill. The client is flabbergasted; Fern is mortified, but not in a position to refuse (although a save from Omar would have been nice). She grins smugly as she returns to her table... then snaps out of her daydream. Aw, damn - that would have been awesome! She recovers and says she was just thinking about Tomas.

Lety calls for the bill. Fern stops by their table to say goodbye and asks if they ate well. Martha indicates mild disapproval. (You're welcome, Martha! Jeez!) PM offers him some champagne and reminds him that Lety's boyfriend is paying for it! He unhappily toasts with them, then leaves.

PM says that Fern seemed angry with them. Irma thinks it's because of their scandalous behavior. Lety says no, that's his normal behavior. He's envious. Rich people can't stand it when poor people have money.

The bill comes and they all gasp, but she tells them not to worry and gives the waiter a 20% tip. The smile on his face is worth all the ugly faces Fern and Lety have made this hour - this guy will be able to retire young and buy a Pacific island with what Lety's given him.

In the car, Juana offers to read caracoles for her. According to my dictionary, those are conches, but those aren't particularly legible. Whatever it is, it has something to do with fortune-telling. Lety remembers the psychic's prediction. He says her feeling is true and pure, but a woman is crying in front of her wedding dress and can't put it on. The last thing she wants is another cryptic reading, so she says no thank you Juana. :-) She says maybe some other time, some evening. PM thinks this is a great idea - they can have a party.

Martha says the last time Juana read the caracoles, she said that Lety's boyfriend would change her life. Lety ominously declares that it had better be changing.

Fern and Omar

Fern goes running to Omar to babble about Ariel. He was interrogating Lety about the ledger, the Big Meeting, and she assured Ariel she'd give him all the details and everything. Fern complains that he tried to discuss it with Lety, but she was evasive, as she always is when he tries to talk about cooking the books.

Omar reminds him that their lives depend on her handling of their ledger. She could lose him two cars, maybe three (referring to multiples of millions of pesos). They leave for lunch.

When they see Lety and the cuartel driving away in the Swigglekarr-3000, Omar tries to console Fern, while Saimon sulks on his Vespa. (It's damn lucky for PM that Yazmin's not around today!)

Fern and Omar arrive at Le Noir. Fern is still fuming about Lety and her friends driving to their party, with PM screaming like she was going to fall out of the car, waving at him with her brutal humanity, like a queen at Carnaval (he does a disturbingly accurate imitation of a beauty queen in a parade).

Omar answers that she's a sweet little dummy and he misses her. Seriously, he says that, unless I somehow got that wrong, but I don't think I got it wrong.

Fern asks the bartender for a quadruple of "the usual." Omar asks if he's going to take away Lety's car. He says he can't, because she bought it with Filmo-Imagen's money, and not money from Conceptos. All the same, he feels it's his car, because he started FI with his own money.

Omar says it might be his morally and in his heart, but it's not legally his. "It's Lety's," Fern agrees unhappily, sipping his drink. Omar tries to calm him down for their meeting, with little success.

The guy from Krauss arrives. Or as it's spelled in the captions today, "Craos." I have a better idea. I'm going to call it CHAOS, in honor of Get Smart. It's the German sportswear company.

Omar does most of the talking, because Fern is very distracted. Omar says the sportswear ad is looking good. Fern says that Lety arranged everything.

The CHAOS guy - I think his name is Millan - asks if Lety is here, because he expected to meet with her. Omar says she only does the financial stuff, and although she's very smart etc., she feels out of place in a restaurant like this, doing public relations and things like that.

Just then, Lety and the cuartel arrive. Fern is impactado. He and Omar make up a lame excuse to Millan, that something really important must have come up. Lety joins them briefly, but then goes back to her table; Millan says to Omar "Didn't you say she didn't like this sort of place?" Omar says he thinks that Lety is in the process of changing her lifestyle. Fern sourly agrees.

Doctors say that when our bones grow or heal rapidly, we may experience "growing pains." Perhaps that is why Lety grimaces slightly at this moment - it's the mild discomfort of her rapidly-developing spine. Grow, little spine! Grow and blossom!

Omar tells Millan how well Conceptos is doing, and has to prompt Fern to participate. (He has been watching the women dismember their lobsters.) Fern says something about adjusting a payment. I find this difficult to follow, but he says something about covering 60% of the remainder, or maybe 60% is the remainder - I'm not sure. It appears that they are asking Millan for more money than originally expected.

Millan remarks on how well Fern's assistant and the secretaries are eating. Omar tells him that Conceptos pays well. Fern sarcastically (and loudly) answers that Lety makes more than they do.

A champagne cork pops. PM LOUDLY toasts Lety's rich, generous boyfriend.

Millan really shows a lot of interest in Lety's financial situation. Omar assures him that Lety is very kind to her friends. (Lety discreetly turns around and grimly raises a glass in Fern's general direction.)

Omar tries to improve the moment by proposing a toast to tomorrow's presentation of the sportswear commercial; the sound of another champagne cork at Lety's table dampens the mood somewhat. Millan forces a bemused smile.

Fern and Omar return to the office just in time to hear Alicia whining "Papa, I'm hungry." Omar warns that they'd better get out of the way before she sees them, but Fern is still brooding over Lety's behavior. That's not the same sweet Lety we know! This is some other Lety! She knew they were going to Le Noir and she went there anyway! He says there's only one possibility - Tomas arranged the whole thing!

They're going to take his company away from him. Fern tells him the psychic's prediction is coming true. ("I see that your heart is trapped.") He tells Omar that one time, Lety has the caracoles read for her and it said her boyfriend was going to change her life. Sure enough, Lety's life is changing because of her "rich boyfriend." Omar scoffs.

Fern actually gets hot (literally) and starts fanning himself. Omar says it's revenge and they discuss motives. "She knows something," Omar suggests. Maybe she overheard something. Or maybe - he starts laughing - maybe she read The Letter!

Fern doubts it. Martha's daughter told him how she and her friends found and demolished that damned Red Bag and its contents and put the envelope in his briefcase. Even their moms don't know about any of this. Omar also thinks that Lety would act differently if she read the letter - she wouldn't spend the money on cars and restaurants; she'd start a big scandal.

Omar has a great idea: Fern just needs to re-seduce Lety. Then they won't have to worry about her revenge, or Tomas Mora. Fern laments the corrupting influence of "Tommy Boy."

La Fea Más Bella #142 11/9/06 The Licenciada and the Swiggler

Everyone shows up to work at the same time. Alicia arrives in a cab, and as she jumps out of the cab in front of Conceptos, she tells the driver that he won’t get any more money from her, because his fee is ridiculously high. The driver gets out of his cab and says he’s not leaving until she pays the rest. The insults fly back and forth. The cuartel, Celso, and Saimon watch the spectacle. Lety arrives in her the swiggle-mobile. The cab is blocking her way. She beeps and asks Celso to move the cab so she can park. Celso in turn asks Alicia to pay the cabbie so that the licenciada Lety can park her car.

(Quick break for a Spanish lesson… In Latin America, when someone has a "professional" position, people often address them by their title, e.g. arquitecto, ingeniero, doctor (of course), or licenciado. In addition to attorneys, which is the literal translation, licenciado is also used to address business professionals or white collar types who appear to more-or-less know what they’re talking about.)

Anyway… Alicia asks Celso to lend her the cab fare. He tells her no way, because she already owes him more than 300 pesos. She turns to Saimon, calls him Saimonsito, strokes her hair (I guess she thinks that’s sexy… it’s not sexy), and asks if he can pleeeeeease help her. He gives the cabbie 30 pesos. PM protests but he says it's just so they can get the cabbie to move. With the driveway clear, Lety moves her car. Celso plays traffic cop and directs her down the driveway. Alicia scolds Celso for helping Lety and asks how come when she drove in with her own sexy silver swiggle-mobile, he never once called her licenciada. He says duh, Alicia! Because all you have is six semesters of finance from who-knows-where! Lety actually has a degree, not to mention an MBA.

Lobo and Martha are at the clinic to find out why she fainted the day before -- after the tragic disappearing chocolate fiasco. She’s nervous. They call her into see the doc. She crosses herself as she goes in.

As they go into the building, Lety concedes to the gang that she’s a horrible driver, but that her dad made her get her driver’s license long ago. She says that her boyfriend let her borrow the car. PM asks what time she has to give it back. Lety says she wasn’t given a limit. PM says Woohoo! Let’s Party! She realizes that Saimon is listening from behind a pillar. She goes on about partying all night in the swiggle-mobile. Saimon jumps in to protest. She makes a face that tells him she was just kidding and kisses him. She pulls him by an imaginary tie. He pulls back. They struggle with the imaginary tie. He cuts the tie with some imaginary scissors and stomps off in an imaginary fit. (This is cute, but somehow, it’s just not as satisfying as the Lety/Fern romance that’s MIA.) Lety says she doesn’t know if she can party all night, but she wants to take them all out to lunch.

Everybody scurries off to work, except for Sara and Juan. Sara says she envies Lety. Who would have thought that the ugliest (she says “felliata”-- not “fea” -- which makes it okay because she’s saying it as a term of endearment, not as an insult) of the cuartel would have found herself a man first. Of course, Tomas isn’t exactly Mr. Universe, but hey he’s rich, and he’s a swell guy. Juana agrees that Tomas is very good to Lety (I guess the whole flirting with Jasmin thing didn’t make a bad first impression). She says she can think of at least one airhead (nodding in Alicia’s direction) who would LOVE to reel in a great catch like Tomas.

In her office, Lety though bubbles that her evil plan to make Fernando believe that she wants to take his company is working. She feels sort of bad about doing it, but he deserves it. He’ll have to suffer though it, and he’ll have to live through the nightmare of having her by his side. She lights Carolina’s Karma Cleansing Candle.

Back in the driveway, Celso is buffing the swiggle-mobile. Fern and Marcia arrive together in Fern’s beamer. He stops nexts to the swiggler and asks Celso to park it as he helps Marcia out. Marcia exclaims “Wow! Who’s is this?” Celso informs them that it belongs to the licenciada Lety’s boyfriend. Fern conducts a super-close detailed inspection of the driver’s side. She says the car is spectacular, then realizes Fernando is irritated. Not realizing why he’s irritated, she adds that, of course, the car is not really Lety’s style, or her boyfriend’s. Fern impatiently asks Celso if the licenciada Lety is inside the building with her boyfriend. Celso clarifies that, no, Lety arrived by herself in the car. Her boyfriend let her borrow it. “Her boyfriend has great taste, right? He’s got even better taste than you , Don Fernando.” Fern's irritation swells and orders Celso to clean the beamer, since that’s the car of the guy who pays his salary. Marcia comments that Lety’s beau must be uber-rich if he can afford that swiggle-mobile. She wonders if maybe he’s involved in something illegal.

In the lobby, Omar asks Sarah to run some errand for her. She looks at him with googly eyes and smiles. Sara runs off on the errand as Fern walks by. Omar asks Fern where the heck Lety got the swiggle-mobile. Fern says he plan to ask Lety just that. Then he yells at Omar for hanging up on him the night before. Omar says “Of course I hung up on you, because, Ay, Fernaaaaando!” (he does this imitating Alicia and stroking long imaginary hair) “You must be nuts if you’re at her house spying on her” Fern says that yes, he was spying but he found out important information, i.e. that she lied about not being home, and when Tomas left he took the swiggle-mobile with him. Then Fern remembers the PG who told him that he must free his soul and free himself of the company so he can finally be free to love. Omar tell Fern to talk to the little gargoyle…uh Lety (that joke is getting old) to find out what’s going on. Seeing Fern’s high level of distress, he tells Fern to calm down and tries to coach him through some breathing exercises. Fern calls Omar an idiot.

Form her desk, Lety hears Fern approaching and prepares herself for their little talk. Fern says he called her and wants to know why she never called back. Lety says she got home late, he didn’t say where she could call him, and besides, she figured he was probably with Marcia, so she didn’t want to bother them. Fern says that yes, he did have to go to Marcia’s, and oh, by the way, is that Tomas’s car outside or is it maybe borrowed or something? Lety says that the car is hers. Fern is impactado.

Next we get a montage of Tomas’s shopping trip. He gets help from a pleasant sales woman. He tries to show her how he wears his tie. She tells him to trust her and brings it down to a respectable length. They put a decent suit on him, give him a long coat, and a new pair of glasses.

Fernando laughs, thinking Lety must me joking. Lety says she’s not joking. He says she can’t use Concepto’s money for something like that. Lety points out that she only used Filmo Imagen money, and that he told her she could manage FI as she pleases, and that the swiggle-mobile is imperative to the image of FI.

Celso doesn’t care who pays his salary. He’s back to buffing the swiggle-mobile in the driveway. Ariel arrives wants to know whose swiggler it is.

Lety says that the swiggler belongs to the general manager of FI, who currently happens to be Tomas. Fern asks why she had to pick such an expensive car. Lety says that they need an image to match FI’s reputation. Otherwise no one will take them seriously, and that would be a bad thing for Conceptos. She insists that it’s for business use only and that she keeps it in her garage. Fern thought bubbles that is a lie because he watched the night before as Tomas took off with the car when he left Lety’s house. Lety then pulls a out her ace: a guilt trip. She cuddles up to him and reminds him that he once promised her a car but never delivered on his promise. Fern says he never promised her a million-peso car. Lety asks “don’t you think I’m good enough for it?” (I think she even batted her eyeslashes!)

Celso tells Ariel that it's Lety’s car. Ariel doesn’t recall any Leticia Padilla. Celso reminds him that she’s Fern’s assistant. Ariel can’t believe they pay their employees enough to afford something like this. Celso clarifies that it’s actually her boyfriend’s, but she’s driving it today. Ariel comments that if the car’s designers knew who would be driving the car, they would not have designed it.

Lety tells Fernando that she had to tell everyone that it’s her boyfriend’s car because she would not be able to explain where she got the money for it, plus, people would probably think she didn’t deserve the car, because she’s ugly and poor (She’s laying it on thick!). Fern says that of course she deserves it. Lety says he does not seem convinced. Fern says he just doesn’t understand why she’s treating him the way she is. Lety is still on a roll; she says that if he doesn’t trust her, she can take the car back and give him his company back. Fern remembers the PG again. The PG told him that there is a woman he loves but does not trust, and that love and mistrust can not co-exist. Fern tells Lety that it’s not about the car or the company. It’s about the two of them. He wants to talk about them. Lety says there is no time now, because he has an important lunch meeting to go to with some clients.

Just then Marcia calls for Fern from his office “Amo-or!” Neither Fern nor Lety seem to like the sound of that. She walks into Lety’s office and Fern yells “What?!” Marcia is offended and walks back out. Fern follows her and apologizes. He says he had been arguing with Lety about business, but doesn’t want to discuss the details. Marcia says if it’s business, she needs to know because it's her company too. He skirts the question. She wasn’t really interested anyway, she wants to talk about the wedding. He pretends he’s interested. Lety can hear from her office and calls him a traitor. Marcia shows him the wedding list. He looks at it for a nano-second. She asks whether he found out anything about Lety’s boyfriend. He says that he knows Lety’s boyfriend, and can vouch for the legitimacy of his character and money. Marcia says “Wow!” and gives two thumbs up before walking away. Fern imitates her thumbs up with disgust.

Fern goes to recap Omar on his conversation with Lety. Omar is surprised that Conceptos has enough capital to afford the swiggle-mobile. Fern confesses that he doesn’t know how to manage the situation.

Ariel stops by Alicia’s desk to degrade her about her car getting repo’d and also throws in a bunch of innappropriate comments about her body parts. (Are there any sexual harrassment laws in Mexico? Because I think I just found a way for Alicia to pay off all her debts.) He rubs it in that even Lety was able to snag a rich boyfriend, while she continues to live in financial misery. Alicia says that she has not lost her car yet, she’s getting it back, and she does not need his help because she had someone much better than him or Lety’s sorry-old boyfriend. Ariel calls her bluff and tells her that when she gets herself a non-fictional boyfriend, Ariel would be happy to meet him. After he leaves, she says that she won’t be degraded because of Lety’s fault, and we’ll see who ends up with Tomas the Rich Boyfriend.

Omar tells Fern that what Lety did is all Fern’s fault. He should have given her a better raise and the car he promised her before. Now she has sort-of given herself a raise. Did he think that the meager raise and all the horrible little kisses that he gave her would be enough? Fern objects that the kisses were not horrible!

Ariel comes to Lety’s office under the pretext that he’s checking on the status of the upcoming board meeting. Lety assures him that preperations for the board meeting are going fine and everything will be ready. Omar adds that everything better be accurate as well.

Omar points out that Lety never asked for compensation in return for managing FI. The 90,000 dollars are a mere fraction of the 45 million dollars she manages for FI/Conceptos. (I wonder if the Mexican version kept referring to dollars instead of pesos, or if they dubbed the dollar conversion for our benefit.)

Ariel tells Lety that her attitude is different, could it be because of the car she has parked outside? She says she imagines that the way she feels driving a $90,000 car must be similar to how he feels being at the head of a $45 million company. He says that yes, except that her car is only borrowed, while his $45 million company is actually his. (Ironic, because they are actually both hers!) He demands to know who her boyfriend is and what he does.

Fernando tells Omar that it bugs him that Lety has rejected him, has lied to him, has been disrespectful to him, has gone out with Tomas, and now she has bought the car. He is very angry with Leticia Padilla Solis. Omar asks what happened? He thought Lety was in love with Fern. Fern thought bubbles that he was in love with her too, until today, the day she betrayed him. Omar can’t believe that Fern, with his good looks and charm, has lost the love of a homely girl.

Lety tells Ariel that while an ugly girl with a gorgeous car must seem suspicious, he should not worry; her boyfriend is honorable and his money is legitimate. She points out that not all honorable and wealthy people are beautiful, and not all of them are his acquaintances . Many of them actually work very hard for their wealth and are way above his social circle so he can just stick his pompous opinion where the sun don’t shine (well, she was a little more diplomatic than that).

Fern pops in Lety’s door and jumps back in exaggerated fright when he sees Ariel, “The King of Vampires.” Ariel says he was just there for a status on the board meeting from Lety. He congratulates the licenciada Lety on her boyfriend. On his way out, he tells Fern that Lety’s boyfriend’s car is more expensive than Fern’s. Fern says that it’s also more expensive than Ariel’s.

Fern tells Lety that he wants to discuss the documents for the board meeting. Lety says she can’t because she's on her way out for lunch.

On her way out to lunch with the cuartel, they exchange insults with Alicia (not interesting enough to go into). Martha walks in and shares the outcome of her doctor’s visit…. She’s pregnant! …just kidding (I was surprised, because it is a well known novela rule that if a woman faints, it’s because she’s preggers). It turns out she has something called Aerophagia, which means she eats so fast that along with all the food, she swallows a bunch of air too. The funniest part of this scene is that when Martha announces her illness, Juana shouts “Holy Mother of the Squished!” (¡Santa madre de los apachurrados!) I’m still ROFL!
Will the Holy Mother of the Squished hear their prayers?
Will Fernando take the PG's advise and free his soul?
Will Tomas get a date -- and the ride of his life -- with Alicia?

Mundo de Fieras--Thursday, November 9

Gabe is visiting with Mari at the hospital. Nurse Ratchett lurks (I guess prowls would be a better word for la fiera) around the corner.

Candi gets a bad sign, her rosary is broken.

Jos injects Aurora with a mystery shot. Oddly, she comforts Aurora as she delivers the shot heard (or telepathically felt, as the case may be) around the world. Mari wakes suddenly, aware that something’s wrong. She runs to her mom’s room, barely missing Jos. She realizes Aurora is dead. Mari cries hysterically…she has a good chin tremble.

Paulina, overjoyed by the full-page proclamation of JC’s love is interrupted by Luisito…who also sees the ad and comments on it.

Elsewhere, Gabe’s also looking at the ad. He’s worried about Paulina…his associate tells him he’s a good father because he takes on his kids’ problems.

Mari’s still sobbing (didn’t bother calling a nurse…) and Clemente joins in with the wailing. Clemente calls Candi to break the news…she looks at her rosary and realizes that’s what the sign was for. Mari’s saying her final goodbyes to her mom…who as far as I could tell (I’m not a doctor) was still visibly breathing. Note to directors…unless your actor has an above-average lung capacity short, and in this case extremely short, shots are probably the best choice.

Karen, dressed up as I dream of Jeannie, and Tiberio (he left the astronaut suit at home) are doing their icky flirty thing. She’s so stupid.

Miriam notices that Jos is looking very calm and happy. (Killing people can do that when you’re a psychopath.) Jos said she took care of something…

Leo ambushes Gabe in the hospital corridor to talk about Mari’s love life in the hospital corridor. Leo’s not going to let her suffer. Leo makes the astute observation that Jos isn’t going to give Gabe a divorce anytime soon. Gabe defends himself by saying that he’s not a liar, he entered into his marriage with good (if blind and completely naïve) intentions but now that things (well, Jocelyn, at any rate) are going crazy loco…it’s time to call it quits. Then Leo asks, do you still love her? Gabe says no comment.

Miriam gets a phone call and learns that Aurora died…immediately she suspects Jos (which is kind of strange, considering that Aurora has been dying for awhile now) and asks her if that’s the business that she went to take care of. Jos is like, yeah, yeah, yeah…so what. Don’t worry about it, I was really careful…besides I have to go and see my shrink which is really cool because I can tell him all the crazy bat sh*t stuff I do and he can’t tell anyone because I’m his patient (based on my extensive legal experience…reruns of Law & Order…I thought that if the patient was killing other people or threatening to kill other people the dr. had to tell someone).

We see later that Karen & Ty go to a Scottish restaurant (based on the tartan tablecloths)…Tiberio, giggling creepily, shows Karen the ad from JC. Clearly he’s hoping to be her rebound man.

Paulina & JC are looking over their relationship mementos simultaneously. They both look like 13 year olds right out of the gate.

At the shrink’s office…Jos is discussing her constant thoughts about death, her curiosity about killing someone and what would be reasonable justifications for killing someone. The doctor takes careful notes as he sees a book deal…maybe even a movie offer…with this BSC (that’s the medical term) patient’s story. Later, the psychiatrist meets with Federico privately and tells him that Jocelyn has no sense of morality and is guided only by what she wants. He recommends they hospitalize her.

Ty comes home and his mom gives him a lecture about Belen. He asks her why she’s so interested in him and she tells him for his well-being. He says, well, in that case let’s get it on and jumps on her (that’ll make a mother proud). Needless to say, she freaks out and let’s the truth slip out. Now it’s Ty’s turn to freak out, insisting that his mother is dead. He runs away to Demian’s room for the truth (a reliable source if ever there was one). Demian kicks him out. We see Dolores crying & praying.

Federico calls Miriam to tell her their daughter is a total nut job and needs to be hospitalized. Miriam doesn’t believe him and hangs up.

Jos is saying goodnight to Luisito and gives him the news that Aurora died. Instead of bed, she packs him up and takes him to the funeral. Much to the disdain of everyone else at the funeral, Jos makes a grand entrance.

Back at bedtime…Luisito hopes to come over whenever his mom asks him to, but she tells him that he won’t want to after Gabe knocks him around as a punishment for coming over. Luisito looks surprised and confused, as only he can.

Paulina, working on a jigsaw puzzle that looks like it’s meant for a five year old, gets a call from JC. She plays it cool…he tells her to look out her window. He’s down below with a big chalk heart drawn on the street, decorated with rose petals that says, I love you Paulina. Um…where I come from, this is called stalking.

Ingrid tells Miriam that Padre Anselmo came around. Miriam’s like, who the heck is that? Ingrid says he was talking about the kids left on the church steps and she thinks he might know it was she who left Miriam’s son. Pshaw, says Miriam, you said no one saw you. Raising Miriam’s blood pressure even higher, Ingrid suggests that Miriam’s secret won’t be one for much longer.

At the funeral, Mari is crying and saying that she needs time to think. Leo says, of course we’ll give you time (He looks at his watch and says okay, time’s up…just kidding).

Paulina goes downstairs to brush off JC, she still doesn’t believe his little demonstrations of love. He reiterates his love for her, looking kind of crazed as he does it. She calls him stubborn and walks away. It starts to rain (just in, like, one spot), washing away the beautiful chalk heart (these two need to grow up)

Mari thanks Gabe for rebuilding her mom’s house. She tells him she needs some time alone, but would like the chance to be near Luisito. He says sure, offers his condolences and leaves. Clemente then offers to help her, but she says no.

Paulina looks out the window and wishes that their love was like the chalk heart, washed away by the torrential downpour now raining down on JC, but no…their love is very strong. She wants to tell him she loves him, but she can’t and won’t do it (speaking of stubborn). She calls him to tell him to leave, but ends up admitting that she’s scared of feeling what’s in her heart again. He says, don’t be afraid. I know I’ve screwed up but let me show you how much I love you and that I can be your protector and your refuge. She waits a couple more hours (just to make sure he gets pneumonia), calls him back and says, okay I’ll come down there just as Karen arrives. Then Paulina gets all huffy, but he stops her so she can hear him tell Karen, once and for all, that he loves Paulina.

Clemente & Gabe are discussing Aurora’s death and Mari’s future. Clemente ‘fesses up that Mari is his daughter.

Mundo de Fieras, Wed. November 8

We open with Demian threatening Gabriel with a gun. First Paulina puts herself between the gun and Gabriel but Demian says that he will kill them both. Then JC jumps in front of the gun saying that he won’t allow this.

Joselyn is driving her car and thinking to herself that this is the first time that she has gotten rid of someone permanently and she liked it. If necessary, she won’t hesitate to do it again.

After a few seconds of waving his gun around while Gabriel and JC exhort him to either: 1. Stop the violence; or 2. Shoot me if you have to shoot someone, Demianputs up the pistol and leaves. Gabriel thanks JC for intervening and JC apologizes for Demian. Gabriel says that JC is not responsible for what Demian does and notes that JC is very different than his father.

JC and Paulina leave Demian’s office together. Back at their office, Paulina says that she didn’t realize the extent of the hatred between their two fathers. ‘If we got back together, we would be defying our families,’ she says while JC tells her that they have to fight for their love. Paulina says that it is impossible.

Back with the jolly cab drivers. Leo drives up all excited that he had gotten the autograph of a big star: Flor Rubio. Then they find that Flor has left the prize that she won the previous evening in the cab. Meanwhile Flor is getting an earful from some guy for losing the prize.

Luisito has waited all day for his mother to come and see him and the maid can’t reach her on the phone. Too bad, Mom’s out murdering her lover and has no time for her kid. Paulina also tries to comfort Luisito by saying that of course his mother loves him. All mothers love their children.

Joselyn comes into Miriam’s office and tells her that she has solved the Didier problem. She has murdered him. Miriam has no problem with having Didier killed but she can’t believe Joselyn did her own dirty work. 'Why didn’t she hire someone?' asks Miriam. Joselyn responds that it was very easy to kill Didier.

In the evil black Hummer, Tiberio tells Demian that he is so surprised that JC acted against Demian. ‘Your own son!’ he says.

Ingrid is hanging up clothes in Miriam’s shop. A priest comes in and asks to see Miriam. Ingrid tells him that Miriam isn’t around. Ingrid asks why the priest has come. The priest says that he is collecting for his church where many babies are abandoned after they are born. Ingrid sends the priest away but she is disturbed about how the priest is looking at her – almost as if he knew that Miriam had abandoned a baby at his church.

Leo takes the prize to the studio and tries to talk his way past the guard. Meanwhile. in the studio, there is a problem with the show they are taping if they don't have the prize. Somehow Leo gets past the guard and the next thing we know, he is on the soundstage returning the prize. Of course the star is grateful and invites Leo to be on the program and of course back in the barrio, one of the cabbies turns up with a little battery powered TV. The cabbies and Candelaria and the maid who are watching in the kitchen are all excited to see Leo on TV.

Paulina gets a wrapped gift from a messenger. It is a key on a chain and the note says that JC is giving Paulina the key to his heart to do with what she will. Gabriel finds Paulina crying after reading the note. She won’t explain what is going on and leaves but Gabriel finds the note.

Demian muses on Tiberio’s words about JC’s betrayal. Demian acknowledges that Tiberio has been created in Demian’s image. Demian wonders how Tiberio would react if he knew Demian wasn’t his godfather but father and Tiberio was JC's older brother.

Tiberio comes into a room where Karen is dressed up like a school girl from hell. ‘Is this your fantasy?’ she asks him.

Candelaria is leaving Gabriel’s house marveling to herself that Leo was on TV when Joselyn and Miriam come home. She tells Joselyn that Luisito has been waiting for her all day but Joselyn says that she is too tired to see the kid. Candelaria also reminds Joselyn and Miriam that tomorrow is Luisito’s Saint’s Day but they don’t care.

Tiberio is getting it on with Karen when she suddenly decides to leave. Meanwhile, Dolores cultivates Belen and gets Tiberio’s cell phone number from her. Dolores calls and hears Karen and Tiberio arguing. She is concerned that the cousins might break the incest taboo.

The next day, it’s little Luisito’s name day. Joselyn arrives bringing a cake and complaining to herself about having to do anything for the occasion. Coming into the hall, she sees MA give Luisito a gift while he says cloying things like, ‘the real present is having you here, MA.’ Seeing how MA and Gabriel look at each other, Joselyn decides that they love each other. Joselyn
leaves before anyone sees her and throws her cake on the ground vowing to destroy MA.

Diana is babbling happily about her pregnancy when Rogelio drops a bombshell – he thinks that she should get rid of the baby. He doesn’t want it. Diana is impactada.

Dolores begs Demian to keep Tiberio and Karen from getting together. Demian promises that he will speak to Tiberio. Delores asks Demian not to tell Tiberio that he and Karen are cousins and Demian says that she can have confidence in him because of how he feels towards her.

Joselyn tells Miriam that she saw MA and Gabriel kissing, which isn’t true. Joselyn concludes that it is because of MA that Gabriel wants a divorce and she promises to make them pay for deceiving her. She swears this while making a big mess by throwing everything on the desk onto the floor.

Candelaria tells Leo how wonderful it was to see him on TV.

It is a rule of novelas that good characters who are going to die get to say farewell to their loved ones whether they know that they are going to die or not. This leavetaking requirement is more powerful than the medical conditions that would seem to make it impossible. Aurora is supposed to be in the final stages of Alzheimers, an untreatable disease that destroys the brain. However, Aurora is looking good and has all her faculties. My favorite was in another novela, Velo de Novia, where the saintly Angeles was able to have a conversation and bid a tender farewell to her true love even though she had been declared brain dead after an accident.

Anyway, in a series of extremely repititive scenes that I will condense here, Father Anselmo,Clemente, Leo and Candelaria each go to see Aurora separately. She asks each of them to watch out for and take care of MA when she gone and thanks them for helping her family. They all say that they will take care of MA but that Aurora will be around for years. Finally, Aurora blesses MA and they talk about their plans for the future.

Clemente goes to see Joselyn to talk about her divorce from Gabriel but Joselyn says that she has never been a father to her and tells him to get out.

Gabriel thanks MA for coming to see Luisito on his name day. She goes on about how much she cares for the kid. She also tells Gabriel that if she comes to his apartment, it is only to see Luisito and no other reason. Gabriel says he understands.

All the cabbies congratulate and tease Leo about his success on television.

Demian tries to tell Tiberio not to see Karen. His reasons, that Karen is the daughter of his enemy are not convincing to Tiberio who points out that Karen is the daughter of Joselyn’s first marriage [of course that means that Tiberio and Karen are not related by blood at all]. Finally, Demian forbids it just because he says so and Tiberio says that he will obey, as he always does. When he leaves, Demian tells himself that he doesn’t care if Tiberio and Karen are cousins, he doesn’t want to incur Dolores’ wrath right now.

Dolores tries to talk to Karen but she won’t listen, calls her a killer and orders her to leave her house.

Paulina seems to have recovered from her emotion upon receiving JC’s gift. At their office, she gives it back to him and yells at him for sending her gifts when he is interested in Karen. JC denies being interested in Karen. Paulina starts to leave and JC grabs her and kisses her. She resists at first but, of course, surrenders to his embrace then slaps him for grabbing her without her permission.

Joselyn calls Luisito and tells him that she is coming to see him with a gift for his Santo. It will be a big surprise. He is pathetically excited and Joselyn rolls her eyes when the conversation ends.

Joselyn shows up at Gabriel’s apartment and makes nice with Luisito and gets herself invited to dinner. She gives the kid a fish tank and he is very excited. Joselyn tries to cozy up to Gabriel by saying how much she misses Luisito but Gabriel says that she isn’t capable of caring for a child until she gets help for her mental problems. Joselyn responds that she isn’t crazy.

Regina comes in to see JC who is playing with the key he tried to give Paulina. She tells him to fight for his love for Paulina. She didn’t fight and lost her love.

Diana tells Gabriel, Paulina, Pedro, Luisito and Joselyn that she is preggers. They are all happy and congratulate her except Pedro. Gabriel asks why Rogelio isn’t present for this happy occasion.

Rogelio is with Miriam. He asks her to help him see that the baby is not born. She agrees. Babies can get in the way.

After dinner, Joselyn suggests to Gabriel that since they were all happy together as a family, he should forget the divorce. Gabriel says that they will never be a family and with her gigantic necklace rattling away, Joselyn leaves in a huff.

Regina tells Demian that it is too bad that the hatred he has for his brother is making his son unhappy. Demian says that it is JC's fault for looking for love where he shouldn’t. Regina says that she will fight for JC to be happy against any and all and will even fight against Demian, if necessary.

Paulina is reading the newspaper when she sees a full page ad that says, ‘Paulina, you are not only the love of my life, you are my life, JC.’ She is happy.

MA meets Gabriel in the hall of the clinic. She tells him how happy she is that her mother is getting better etc. etc. They go for coffee. In stalks Joselyn in the world’s tightest nurse outfit.

From the previews for tomorrow, it looks like there will be no dawn for Aurora.

La Fea Más Bella #141 11/8/06 Tomas finds German engineered love, and Fernando learns of his future

Tomas and Lety are driving back to Lety’s house arguing about Tomas’ new found sex-appeal …uh…translate Mercedes… and he doesn’t understand why Lety was so mad. T -What is so bad about having Jasmin’s number? T- I was just being nice and asking about you and she came up and starting talking to me. Lety says, oh yeah, so nice that her number ended up in your cell phone? Tomas asks her what he should have done, tell her not to touch his cell phone? That’s no way to treat the ladies. Lety accuses him of being flirtatious. Really, you are chasing all the women at Conceptos. Well, I’m successful at it so, you can’t blame me… L- you are not successful, it’s the car! You are such a fool you are messing with the worse women at Conceptos! T- You say that because of Alicia? Yes, her, but also that chick Jasmin. She’s a sponge, a husband stealer, she’s going with Lola’s husband caray! Tomas says well, just let them dream about me then, there’s nothing wrong with that. L- I don’t want everyone making fun of me because my boyfriend is so cavalier. She says at least be faithful to me in front of the office folk. Tomas agrees she’s in charge and he’ll be faithful to her….Novia Mia, novia mia……they walk arm and arm into the house.

Fer drives up and can’t believe his eyes, just what in the name of God is going on here? This is absurd! He gets out of his car and paces in front

Now we are inside, and Robopop tells Lety & Tomas they can’t just show up here with such an expensive car and not explain it. He accuses them of poorly managing Don Fernando’s money, and that they are abusing their positions. Lety fires back that’s not what’s happening, and she and Tomas try to explain, Robopop argues and drills them about the money, Lety loses her patience and just says her Papa will never understand so just forget it and she runs upstairs.

Julieta follows her wondering what’s wrong. Lety again denies anything and the phone rings. L tells her mom to answer and say she’s not home because she doesn’t want to talk to anyone. Of course it’s Fer and since he’s out front he knows she lying, and he angrily asks when she’s expected and Julieta explains she doesn’t know, would you like to leave a message? F- yes, tell her I called. Julieta tells this to Lety, and that she doesn’t like lying or denying her daughter’s wishes and wants to know what’s wrong. Lety says nothing, and not to worry.

Miraculously, because this is a telenovela, the psychic guy from church pulls up in a white car behind Fernando, gets out and stands arms crossed in front of Don Fer. Fernando is a little concerned and thinks the guy maybe wants him to move his car, and psychic guy (PG) says, no I’m interested in you. Fer goes on about just being parked and it’s not his fault and stuff and PG cuts him off and tells him there is something so forceful about you that I’m drawn to. Fer says buddy, you shouldn’t drink, or if you drink you shouldn’t drive, but PG says something happened to you as a child that defined your direction in life, you were confused and made a decision to become competive and fight to not give up something, ever. Fer assures him he’s wrong. PG - If I can see your soul, I’m not wrong; I see your soul, and it’s trapped. F- What? Where? Look around we are free, there’s plenty of fresh air… Breathe… PG – You are trying to maintain control of something material. I see a house, or maybe a big building, a factory or something. F- Conceptos? PG- Your need to be in control is causing you to make the wrong decisions and you are confused. F- No there’s no confusion, man. PG- You aren’t out here because you are trying to understand something that is troubling you? Your preoccupation has to do with a woman that is near here but she seems far way because she’s hiding from you. You want to care about her, but at the same time you don’t trust her or (not even a close relative of hers?). There’s either (love? something) or mistrust. F- No, it’s not that I don’t trust her. Then why are you out here spying on her? F – Because what you don’t know is that this woman has a friend and I’m afraid they are going to take my company. PG - Well why is this company consuming you. For this business you’ll give up all that is really important to you. Fern thinks to himself that’s true if I break off my engagement my parents will kill me and I can’t disappoint them, in this or the business. Fern denies, then finally admits that yes he put aside some feelings of love in favor of the company, and yes it’s something very tender and sweet, but it’s in conflict with the life I’ve always lead, my family, my business, my circumstances, and my whole future!! PG-You are so convinced that this is the right way to live your life? Well let me tell you, this is your first mistake. This mistake is what’s got you trapped.

Fe says no that’s crazy, you are a stranger, I don’t believe anything you say…why should I believe someone who just walks up to me on the street and claims to know things about my childhood. I’m not going to believe a stranger. There's was a reason that PG ran into Fer, how his voice was heard, ad it's not that strange. PG said coincidences don’t exist... I’m here to tell you to cleanse your soul and let go of this business so that you can find true love. I’m telling you, you will see me again because you will need me again one day and he walks away getting into car…
F- He’s loco!!!!! Don’t drink!!!! He calls Carvajal and tells him Lety denied him. He sees the parents walking the dog and gets more upset that Lety and Tomas are left alone up in the bedroom! And they turned off the lights in one room now all the lights are off!!

Fe argues with Omar the Imbecile but the call gets cut off.

Back in Lety's room Tomas is worried about Erasmo not letting them off the hook about the car business. He's also worried about what they should tell Fe. [Funny he wasn't worried about that when he was uder the spell of the Benz at the dealership.] Lety says she'll tell him the truth…what is he going to say? Well you’ll give that guy a heart attack!! Calm down, we’ll just see wait to see what he says. There is more about showing up in the car and making him jealous.

Lety exclaims that Fer did this to me because I’m ugly…..he doesn’t want to put himself in the hands of an ugly girl. T thinks maybe he’ll take away the car! They talk a little about their plan going forward that at least Lety should learn how to drive. She tells him he needs to buy some more elegant clothes, but I like multicolors.... [and being choked by a clown tie... :)]

Lety are you sure your not too full of disgust? There’s nothing worse than a women scorned; Lety says yes there is, an ugly woman scorned… [ouch!]T- ok, I’ll take your orders, you are my boss. T- What should we do with the car…we can’t leave it in the street? [I wondered about this, such an expensive car in her neighborhood] Should we put it here, no it would have to put out Erasmo’s car, and he’ll be mad. Lety asks if Tomas' garage is being used. He said not really, but it's full of stuff, sweetbread and junk and rats... L- yeah but there’s bad rats in the street too…T- Alright, I’ll clean mine and put it in there… L-Not a scratch…you watch the car! T-With my life!

Tomas leaves, he sweet talks the car and dances around it drunk in Benz love while Fer watches in disgust. T opens the top, plays with the windows…he blows a kiss to Lety and thanks her…the whole time not noticing the brooding Fer slumped in the hot Beamer two feet away....

Fer calls him an idiot, the epitome of imbecility, his brain is full of mooo, mushke……guano (birdsh**)!!!

Lety writes sap in her diary, she has to find the strength to get back at him, but when he looks at her, she’s still hurting and dying for him. She’s still weak and in pain, but everything she’s doing is to make him think she’s stealing the business even though that’s not really true. She has to be strong. Yep, he’ll cry inside and out, more than I ever did. He deserves this revenge and he deserves to be punished!!! Brava Lety!!!

Ok, here we go, get out your barf bags….Fe goes to Marcia’s she knows something up, he blames it on the office. She wants him to forget all that by talking about something pleasant and happy, like the wedding!!!! Fer’s just been stabbed in the chest…no, only if she knew!!!! She says, I know what it is, it’s not the business, but instead the wedding must be at the bottom of it all. She makes a heart with her arms and sticks her squirrely face in it!!! Yuk!!! You can take some time to get rid of your bags now. She says she realizes that a lot of things are still up in the air. Like where we are going to live. Fer flashes back to Lety telling him about hs parents gift. Marcia keeps going ….she said one of us has to start planning and preparing and of course it’s me…. she goes on and on about all the wedding tasks she going to start to do tomorrow. She notes something is still wrong, she says she’s stupid. Of course! You haven’t forgotten “her!” F- says what “her”? There is no “her”. Marica actually stays surprising pleasant!!! Very sweetly she says, surely you haven’t forgot about “her.” He tells Marcia he’s always with Marcia, thinking of Marcia; there’s no one else. She says she hopes he gets over it soon because the wedding isn't that far off and she can’t marry a guy who has someone else in his heart. Fer gets a blank look. [Women are so insightful aren’t they! But she's handing him his exit strategy.....]

Lety writes more self loathing…how could she have been so stupid to think he would fall for her. Their worlds are so different!! How did I get it so wrong. Oh well for now he will continue living the nightmare of having me by his side.

We flash to a nightmare, go figure. He dreams he’s looking at the car, it’s possessed! No it’s Lety and Tomas making out!!! Wow, he screams at Lety not to do this to him. He says Lety’s name as he wakes up. Marcia hears him and she asks him if he was dreaming about Lety?? No the office, and other things. Well, why? Is there a problem at the business? F-No, of course not, just the usual. M- Well it must have been a nightmare if you were saying Lety’s name!! He fondly says her name over and over to himself.

Next day Tomas sweet talks the car again ….and today’s celebrity guest….walks up in a short skirt to flirt with Tomas, but then disappears when Lety shows up. You all are learning the cure...just get a Benz!!! Tomas opens the passenger side, but Lety gets in the driver’s seat. He freaks out! What are you doing? She wants to learn to drive. He freaks out some more! She says we are sharing this car because it’s Filmo Imagen’s ...today my millionaire boyfriend lends me his car. Today Lety the Fea will be an elegant woman with many appointments! Tomas reluctantly proceeds to describe the process very nervously. Lety “drives” the swiggle mobile (alias Mercedes - apparently Ocampo doesn't want to pay the rights to use the image) back and forth, nearly hitting Ropopop, exclaiming for him to see that she is driving just like Papa showed her. He sees that and says it’s crazy.

Lety manages to drive Tomas to the store to get his new wardrobe. She is trying to navigate the parking lot, and panic beeps at another car pulling out. The [very cute] driver gets out of his car and wonders why she’s beeping at him, he mocks her saying what a beautiful car, the beauty is going out with her prince by her side and she’s going to buy the parking lot to learn how to drive. He says once you’ve bought it, call me, so I can show you the right way to drive!!! Bye Beautiful! L responds- Bye Ugly!!!!

T- See that! He called you beautiful!!! He’s in love with you!! He asked for your number!! With this car you can get anyone!! Come on girlfriend let’s go. Lety tells Tomas no he has to buy clothes at this mall by himself and she says goodbye. She’s going to take the car? He can’t believe she is going to leave him, what is he going to do? Just tell the salesman to choose something modern and elegant like he wore to Yuri’s.
He freaks out because he’s going to have bags of things and what is he going to do. The bags are going to fall all over the place if he can't put them in the car and this won't match his new polished image. She brought him into this world of sophistication and it’s changed his life. He doesn’t think the same way any more. He needs the car!!! Are you going to take it all day? He begins to worry that he won’t make his date with Alicia, but he doesn’t want to tell this to Lety. They argue about when she’s coming home. T- I have needs and I won’t be able to do this if you take the car..he makes up stuff about being worried about her in this city. She says she’s ugly but not blind. It’s not about being ugly, beside you look beautiful in this car. She has to go. They argue some more, he doesn’t like the micro…L- you are not going to change my mind…bye…..Tomas is a true Benz addict by now, [just like Alicia, fijate]. He complains…she resolves everything so easily…and if she keeps the car all day? What am I going to do about Alicia? Well I’ll get her somehow he says pushing a shopping cart.

Back at Conceptos…Jasmin and Cheque are arguing in the car. Jasmin doesn’t want Lola to stay in that house. J-You have to sell it and keep half the money. Cheque is actually on Lola’s side[sort of], he says he’s not going to take it away from her because that is taking it way from his children and he can’t do that. Jasmin whines that she thought he was going to buy her a car or an apartment for them to live in with all that money and this isn't what she thought they agreed on…but I’m not selling Lola’s house to buy you a car…guilt trip time…. Cheque pines that he lives, breathes, and works for Jasmin but he needs to stay good to his children. Jasmin exits mad.
Uh oh, Sara sees him!!! Look out, here comes roller derby chick!!! He quickly drives off.. now a taxi pulls up. Sara and the others take the opportunity to tease Alicia for showing up in the taxi instead of her Benz. Alicia clearly doesn’t want to pay the driver the whole fare and they are arguing. He parks and says he’s not moving until she pays him. Just then Lety pulls up in the swiggle mobile and beeps at Celso to have the taxi guy move so she can park…..what will happen next?????

We’ll have to wait and see!!! I’m thinking if you spend a million pesos on a car you should be able to push a button and just plow right over that taxi!!!!!!
