Teresa Tue 8/2/11 #107 Arturo is Bancarota and Teresa makes a house call.

CASA GENOVEVA: Aiiiiiida has just advised Teresa she’s the new socio for Luna Turqueza. Teresa thought she’d seen the last of her. Oh well, now they’ll have to make decisions together. She hopes this won’t be a repeat of the University days, when they always had differing opinions and Aida’s were always incorrect. Teresa expresses not-so-fake concern about Aida’s depression over her father’s situation. They exchange insults. Teresa comments that Aida is working at the clinics as an excuse to be near Mariano. Aida laughs that off and says that if Teresa visits the condos often enough, she may run into her and Mariano as he will surely accompany her to Cancun. Not to be outdone, Teresa says he may be with Aida, but he’ll be thinking of her (Teresa). Some things never change, socia!

VECINDAD: Espe hands Cutberto an envelope he’s to deliver to Hernan with the hopes that he’ll listen to her. Cuberto adds he hopes Juana will listen to him.

HOSPITAL: Cutberto arrives at the hospital where Aurora greets him warmly. He tells her he was sorry to hear about the entire goings on re: her mother. She’s fine now. She has many who have been so supportive and Martin is back now. She also has Juana who is like a second mother to her. Cutberto isn’t too happy hearing this.

CASA BARRERA: Teresa complains to Juana about Aida being her new socia AND galavanting around Cancun with Mariano. Not that she cares, mind you, it’s just that Aida does these things just to bug her. She also tells her of Arturo booting La Mujer Más Odiosa out on her ear. Luisa arrives for a visit. Tere thanks her again for taking her side but reminds her she was serious about not being in the wedding. Luisa tells her they definitely want her to participate in her wedding and tells her Fer also asked La Mujer Más Odiosa to apologize to Teresa, who’s eyes bug out at the news. Luisa’s on her way because she needs to speak with Doña Oriana. Teresa claims she will accept her with open arms if she apologizes. Luisa is happy because of all this resulted in Fernando is giving her her rightful place, even taking her side against his mother. How much more can she ask? Tere agrees, saying Fernando is a tipazo (great guy). And this is why Luisa wants to make sure he and his mother reconcile. She asks if Tere knows anything about the ruling on the Saenz case. Not yet, Tere replies and promises to tell her as soon as she hears.

Luisa leaves, and the Tiburoncell rings. It’s Fito Maldito calling and tell her if she wants the remaining VIP, she will have to give him the same amount she gave him yesterday. BWA-HA-HA! She hangs up on him as Arturo comes in, head hanging low. Oh this doesn’t look good. It’s not official yet, but a friend with connections has told him he’s lost the case. Arturo has tears streaming down his face. They’re in danger of losing everything. There isn’t the slightest chance to reverse this. He hugs her but she doesn’t hug back. She stands back and asks if it’s true he will lose everything – all his money? Yes, he tells her, they’ll have to control their spending and make changes their way of life. But he can count on her, right? Very slight pause……yes, of course you can count on me for everything. (May I suggest you first sell that gaudy mirror that’s in danger of falling on your poverty-stricken heads?) He’s happy to see that she stands by him and that she loves him. She’s confident this will only be a bad patch (mala racha) and they will come up ahead. He figures it will take time, maybe a few years but knowing that she’s by him gives him the strength to begin again. Tiburoncita is distracted, her Tiburon brain cells working overtime. She repeats what he’s just said about starting over. He feels that working together will make the challenge easier. He will work negotiate Saenz’ debtors to lower the debt.

THE BIG HOUSE: Aida nervously waits for her father, jumping whenever another inmate passes by her table. Daddy Dearest arrives. She asks him, “Why? Why did he hurt them so much?” He knows he’s done wrong to her mother and that he failed as a father. Despite all that, he loves her very much.” They both cry. Even though he’s about to have another child, she was his first and he tried to be a good father. Bad or good, he tried. He tells her again he loves her as he offers her his hand across the table. She takes his hand and tells him she loves him too. He wants her to know he’s being sincere. They talk of the good times they’ve shared together, how she studied so hard in order to join his firm, how he’d do anything she asked of him. She’d brag to her friends that he was her Super Dad. It saddens him to hear her say this in the past tense. He used to be her hero. He tells her again how much he loves her. He’s made a lot of mistakes but being incarcerated isn’t what pains him most, it’s not having her forgiveness, nor her mother’s. Aida is in anguish and they both cry.

HOSPITAL: Cutberto delivers Espe’s letter to Hernan and urges him to read it and send a response.

CASA CACERES: Night falls and Aida is verklempt over her visit with Pops. It’s made her think of all the good times she had with her father. Mayra is suspicious and warns her not to allow herself to be manipulated. Aida feels he was sincere. Mayra’s happy she went to see him. After all, he is her father – but she repeats that she needs to be careful because a prison is no place for a señortia like her. If she’d like, Mayra will give him a pardon so he can be released “de confianza” (on his own recognizance?) Aida refuses to be responsible for whether or not he remains in prison. She’s already seen that he’s been abandoned by his friends. The only one who still stands by him is Genoveva, who she saw there with him. Mayra looks a tad surprised/confused and says it’s true that you know your true friends, whether you’re in prison or in the hospital. So now what, should she grant him that pardon as his lawyer’s requested? Aida doesn’t want her to do so if she’s going to regret it the next day.

CASA BARRERA: Teresa’s in front of the computer and is stunned at the amount of money for which Arturo will be liable. He agrees it will be difficult to give up everything he’s worked so hard for. She comments that all his money is invested in Luna Turquesa and he says he hopes the advanced sales will be successful. Otherwise, all is lost. She’s upset he gave up the inheritance from Paloma. That would have taken care of all of this. He tells her he wouldn’t have touched that money anyway. She needs to trust that they’ll get out of this by their own means. She does trust him but as it stands now, they could possibly lose their home. He responds that is possible so start getting used to the idea! Ruh-roh.
Teresa can’t believe he’d consider selling this house that belonged to his parents and where he and Luisa were raised. He claims he’ll do what he has to unless Luna Turqueza moves quickly. He’s pained by this situation but as he told her before, they’ll need to change their way of life and adjust to these new circumstances. He’s very worried and angry with himself for what’s happened. To her credit, our Tiburoncita seems genuinely upset, not angry. She assures him she understands.

VECINDAD: Buttberto tells Espe Hernan wouldn’t even open the letter she sent him. Butt is angry to hear that his Juanita has gone to visit Aurora. Aurora, Schmaurora, Juanita went to visit that Doctor Panzon.

CASA ALCAZAR: Juana’s happy to hear of Martin’s return even though Viewerville knows he’s just a placeholder til Mariano comes to his senses. Aurora feels time has stood still and they’re starting anew but she’s still in love with…..Juana answers for her, yeah, Mariano, she knows. She thinks this time she will fall in love with Martin because she saw how much he was missed. Aurora admits she missed him but she’s worried he’ll insist on a more formal relationship. Juana suggests that if she won’t speak to Mariano because he’s involved with that monigote (puppet), Aida, she should go for it with Martin. She shouldn’t shut the door against a second love. Aurora considers the idea of a “Segundo amor” as though she had never, ever heard of that concept. She’s noticed Juana was widowed a long time before she fell in love again. Juana tells her life gives us many opportunities. Just look at how she’s here with Hector and now Aurora will have another opportunity with Martin. She shouldn’t let him go again, he may not return the next time. Aurora agrees and then reflects that in all the time her mother was here, they never had such a deep conversation such as this. Juana’s happy to know Aurora confides in her and hopes her advice will do her some good. Aurora recalls Vanessa’s only advice involved separating Mariano from Aida. Juana repeats what she told Vanessa: Life may not have given her children, but she has children who love her and she counts Aurora among them.

CASA BARRERA: “No puede ser, no puede ser.” Teresa’s distraught to think she’s left Mariano for “all this”. She hurls the big Arturo Teddy across the room and then continues to abuse him by throttling him, saying “¡me fallaste, Arturo!” (you’ve failed me). She thought bobbles back to the day he gave her the keys to the house, saying it was all hers. Well, she refuses to give it all up. To think she traded in her true love for this. She WILL NOT give this all up, because it belongs to her. She deserves all this because “¡entre ser ó no ser, yo soy!” Arturo comes in to find her crying. She tells him how upset and fearful she is to think they could end up with nothing. He never thought she’d react this way. He wants to know if things will change between them if he doesn’t have money. Suspenseful drama as they look deep into each other’s eyes. After the break, Teresa tells him of course this will change things for them. They’ll have to work harder and double their efforts to reduce their expenses. That’s not what he meant and she knows it. She tells him it’s normal for her to react this way and it’s because of him and his sister. She knows poverty, she’s lived it. If necessary, she can go without the luxuries. But he’s never had to count each peso and to pay in installments. She, on the other hand, has been at the bottom but she doesn’t think he’d be able to handle it. Perhaps they can survive this, but has he considered what could happen with Luisa’s engagement to Fernando? Does he think Oriana will allow their relationship to continue now that they have no money and are involved in this scandal? Arturo is impactado with everything she’s just laid out for him.

FERNANDO’S APARTMENT: Luisa has been trying to contact La Suegra del Diablo at the hotel, by cell, and hasn’t heard a peep from her. He says Momma is used to having her own way and doesn’t want Luisa to worry her pretty little head about it. Besides, they need to think of how they can help Arturo. He doesn’t agree with her about telling his mother about Arturo’s situation. They should first figure how best to help him, then they’ll tell her if it’s ok with him. They end up snuggling and smooching.

CASA BARRERA: The following morning, Teresa and Arturo host a meeting for the investors of Luna Turqueza: Genoveva, Aida, Martin have arrived. Geno shares that’s she’s had to cancel the cocktail party reception due to the Rubigote Fraud scandal. Many of the invitees had already cancelled. Teresa comments to Aida on how her father’s stupid actions have caused problems for all of them.

Geno shares that it could take another 3 months to begin selling the condos. Even if current buyers back out, buyers from overseas can be brought in. Martin asks if Geno thinks they should continue the project to completion, and she replies they should. Arturo’s concerned this will cause each investor to put in additional funds. As it is, Fernando was pressured to push up construction and the investment ended up being more than expected. Teresa points out that pre-selling the condos would provide investors some profit on the funds they’ve already invested. Geno comments that in this case, that won’t be possible. Martin offers that construction can’t be suspended at this point. Aida agrees they should complete construction and also begin a campaign disassociating Ruben from the project, ensuring future buyers everything is on the up and up.

VECINDAD: Espe tells Juana she’s worried about Johnny not working, etc, etc. Juana says he shouldn’t worry about his job as the apartment super, etc. etc. Espe goes off to shower as Juana cleans up the breakfast dishes. As she’s emptying a pot of water into the sink, Buttberto pops in at the window and surprises her, causing her to spill the water all over herself. He runs in to help her clean up, they both end up on the floor, mopping up the mess. He checks her out and can’t help himself aaaaaaaannnd he gets her in a liplock. She doesn’t fight him and kisses him back. DARN!

FERNANDO’S APARTMENT: Future Monster-in-Law arrives (can’t help it, this woman makes my skin crawl). She didn’t return any of Luisa’s calls because she had nothing to say. Luisa timidly tells her she’d like to talk about what happened. Oriana tells her she should then stop acting like Capirosita Roja (Lil Red Riding Hood) because after all, she’s not El Lobo Feroz (Big Bad Wolf). Oh yeah? Anyway, Luisa tells her it’s difficult for her to speak with her. Oriana reminds her she’s a professional woman who is engaged to a man who is considered to be el Soltero de Oro (Golden Bacelor) in Europe. Luisa continues her humbleness by saying she knows they’ll all wonder how it was that she attracted him. Oriana tells her to buck up and says she was actually impressed that she stood up to her on the subject of Teresa. However, they will never be in agreement when it comes to the Tiny Terror. Since they insist on espousing the marvels of Teresa, she’s decided to change her attitude. She’s not doing it for Teresa; she’s doing it for Fernando and Luisa. Luisa hugs her and thanks her. Oriana warns her she plans to keep an eye on Teresa and will prove she’s correct in her assessment of la Tiburoncita.

CASA DE BARRERA: Arturo admits he cannot invest any more money. Martin suggest they speak to Fernando before they being talking money. Geno agrees and says that for now, they should forget about any sales. Martin would like to take this opportunity to speak with Arturo about the foundation, leaving Terror, Geno, and Harpy alone.

Arturo fills in Martin on the state of the Barrera Fortune. If the sale of the condos had gone as planned, it wouldn’t be so bad. As it stands now, things are bad, really bad. Martin is very concerned.

Aida, in the meantime, tells Geno she should be leaving because Mariano has surely arrived by now. She can’t wait to see his new car! Teresa’s ears perk up. Aida goes on to tell Geno everything is peachy-keen between them and they are on the brink of formalizing their relationship. Right on cue, Reina comes in to announce the arrival of Mariano. Geno and Aida leave and Teresa goes to peek out the window. She looks on tearfully as Mariano swirls Aida around and then kisses her as they stand in front of his coche. Aida wishes he had gone inside to fetch her and he tells her she knows full well he wouldn’t want to do that. They turn to leave. Inside, Teresa is beside herself, saying she must do something now or she’ll end up with nothing. She sees Martin before he leaves, wishing him well with Aurora and suggesting the four of them go out together along with Luisa and Fernando. After he leaves, Arturo tells her he told him about their financial situation. Martin offered to buy their shares of the project. Of course he would, she says. The price will plummet now that the sales have been cancelled. Arturo says he would offer them a fair price for their shares. Teresa’s surprised he would do that, seeing as he was Paloma’s good friend. Arturo points out that Martin knows how to separate personal from professional issues and wanted to help him in his time of need.

FERNANDO’S APARTMENT: Fernando arrives as Oriana and Luisa discuss wedding plans that I couldn’t understand. He reminds her she must speak with Teresa and she agrees saying one will do anything for one’s children.

CASA BARRERA: Arturo admits he hasn’t told Luisa about the outcome of the Saenz case. He wants to tell her in person and also wants to discuss it with Fernando before they marry. Teresa wonders if he’s worried about what Oriana will say and he admits she’s very traditional and conservative. As such there are always financial agreements (acuerdos) to be made. She had already dismissed the need for a pre-nup but now that his situation as changed she may want to reconsider. He leaves and she gets on the phone with Luisa, asking about her conversation with Oriana. She wonders if Oriana is capable of keeping her word and refrain from offending her. They hang up because Luisa and Oriana are off to see a stylist. Teresa is left in deep thought, scheming, I’m sure.

JUANA’S APARTMENT: She tells Espe about the liplock. Espe accuses her of liking it, otherwise she would have slapped him. Juana says she made it very clear that her novio is Hector and that he must respect her. Yawn ---- they talk again about Juana telling Buttberto about her infertility. After all, he loves her. Problem is, so does Hector.

FERNANDO’S APARTMENT: Teresa has come to visit. Pity, Oriana’s not there. He tells her Oriana will apologize. She’s glad because she wouldn’t want to alienate him. Then she kisses him ever so softly on the cheek. She asks for Luisa – oh, not there? Hmmm. Since they’re alone, she’d like to know if he truly loves Luisa enough to marry her.

HOSPTIAL: Hernan is pacing, then reaches over for the letter from Esperanza. From her letter: “I don’t want any misunderstandings. Teresa told me about Ruben’s incarceration and yes, I was very sad. But not about Ruben, but because it’s a pity that my son should have a father in prison. I know my son is not at fault. I know his father is not a good man. I know I shouldn’t compare but I realize how fortunate I am that a man like you took notice of me. Don’t let a misunderstanding separate you from me. Not now that I consider you part of my life and my happiness. Te amo.” Aw, he gets all teary-eyed, he’s so happy.

FERNANDO’S APARTMENT: Of course he loves Luisa and wants to marry her, why the question? She just wants to make sure, because only true love can last. He knows, but still doesn’t understand. She’s very concerned for her. She knows Arturo will speak to him but the situation is very……delicate. She knows his mother well enough to know she may reject Luisa because Arturo is now……..BANCAROTA! Dun-dun-DUNNNN. Arturo? Bancarota? He’s stunned!

MARIANO’S DEEEEELUXE APARTMENT IN THE SKYYYYYYYY: Aida fills him on all the Luna Turqueza problems brought on by her father. Geno calls her just then to tell her that she’s heard Arturo lost the case and it will cost him millions. Who would have thought Arturo de la Barrera would have economic problems.

FERNANDO’S APARTMENT: Fernando can’t believe it either. Arturo losing everything all at once? He’s surprised at Teresa’s attitude. She tells him of her experience being poor and she’s not afraid. She’s worried about Arturo and Luisa. She doesn’t want Arturo to worry and as for Luisa, well, she’s worried about what Oriana might say. Fernando tells her he’s determined to marry Luisa. She’s happy to hear that. Luisa is a very fortunate woman because he’s a good man. He asks if she really means that. Of course she does and reaches out to touch his arm. He stares at her hand. Man, you can feel the sexual tension!!! She goes on to tell him she’s very happy to hear he’s marrying Luisa even though his mother may not approve. She asks him to wait for Arturo to tell him about the bankruptcy. Oh, and he shouldn’t tell his mother she was there. Oriana wouldn’t understand they can be here….., alone…., as friends. He catches his breath as she kisses him on the cheek. He walks her out and she leans against him again to kiss him on the cheek when who should appear but Johnny, the JuanJo of this TN, who witnesses their closeness. She turns to see him watching her and he sees her watching him watch her.

La Fuerza del Destino #1 Tue 08/02/11

We open up in the desert and see a man walking, stumbling across. He suddenly falls and it's Ivan (David Zepada). He calls out to his mother and begs her not to leave him. Not to abandon him. Camera slowly scrolls over to his hand and we see a rosary.

Years earlier...

The same rosary is across the neck of Alicia (Leticia Calderon) the mother of the young Ivan. They have just arrived in a pueblo were some boys are playing soccer and the ball escapes and comes to Ivan. He kicks it and scores. Alicia laughs and tells him to hurry. It's getting late and if his godmother cannot give them a place to stay they will have to find a room. They slowly walk up the the house of Ivan's godmother. Alicia straightens Ivan's hair and makes the sign of the cross for good luck. They walk in and Arcelia (Celia)is excited to see them and welcomes them with open arms. She asks if they are here for vacation. Alicia says no. Celia gives her the "What the hell are you thinking" look. Suddenly Arcelia's son, Camilo, walks in asking when dinner is ready, he's hungry. Celia interrupts and says "Looks who's here" and the cousins excitedly greet each other. Celia gives the boys money to buy sodas and sends them on their way. Celia wastes no time in asking if they are coming to stay.

A: Yes.
C: Do you think that's a good idea?
A: Are you asking because of Sr. Juan Jaime?
C: Well of course! What if he wants to take your son away?

Camilo asks Ivan how long their staying. Forever responds Ivan. My mom says we're not returning to Tampico.

And why this decision asks Celia? Where you not happy in Tampico? Did they fire you from your job? Of course not replies Alicia. I just felt like coming back. And in regards to Don Juan Jaime he fired me when I told him I was pregnant. Of course I remember replies Celia. Well then I don't think that Ivan will interest him. I wish that he would. So that he would at least pay for his schooling.

Camilo tells Ivan that he overheard his parents say that his father lives in town. He's married and has 3 children. Ivan says his mother told him that he was dead. What's his name asks Ivan. Juan Jaime Mondragon replies Camilo.
Everyone knows him and he has a lot of money. Ivan looks confused.

Celia's husband, Silvestre, tells Alicia that she can stay as long as she needs too. Alicia thanks him and assures him just long enough to find a job. Antonio, Celia and Silvestre's oldest son, tells Alicia that he can recommend her a job. Celia throws a piece of bread at him. Alicia asks if he knows someone who needs a maid. Antonio says with your looks (mama Celia throws another piece of bread) you can be a receptionist or a messenger. In one of the houses of ill repute that you know asks Celia. Don't listen to him says Celia. Antonio is a smarty pants and crazy. Silvestre tells Antonio he talked to the local employment agency for him, but Antonio wants to hear none of that. He doesn't want to work as a courier. He wants to make money. He leaves the table and his mom starts throwing bread again and says doing what? Robbing, stealing! Alicia notices that Ivan is not eating.

Celia brings blankets to Alicia and Ivan's room. She tells Alicia it may not be easy for her to find work because of Ivan. Alicia says that they gave her a lead in Tampico for a job here. Celia questions where, but Alicia says I don't remember off hand although I do have it written down. (something smells here and it's not the blankets). Alicia tells her she'll tell her later. Celia seems satisfied and leaves them to unpack. Once alone, Ivan asks if his dad really died. Camilo told him that his father lives in town, is married with 3 children and has lots of money. Is that true?

Celia tells Sivestre that Alicia told him that she has an address to find work. But she smelled something funny and thinks she's hiding something. Silvestre says perhaps she's going to look for Don Jaime? Perhaps replies Celia. For Alicia the only important thing is her son. And she will do anything for him. Silvestre hopes that she's not stupid enough to go back to him.

Alicia sits Ivan down and tells him the story.
A: I was 17 when I came to stay with Celia for a short while. I went to work for Don Jaime at his ranch.
I: Working as what?
A: In the kitchen. He saw me and started paying attention to me. I fell in love. I: And then?
A: And then he couldn't marry me because he had a wife and a child. So I went to Tampico and that is where you where born. And that's it.
I: Why did you tell me he was dead
A: You were to young to understand
I: Does he know about me?
A: No.
I: Why?
A: Because I didn't come back here.
I: Are you going to tell him?
A: Do you want me to, my love?
I: If you tell him, do you think he will love me?
A: Oh, my love! Why wouldn't he love you? You are so handsome and smart. But let's not worry about that. What's important is finding a way for you to keep going to school. Your not going to be a nobody. Your smarter then anyone. I will do anything to make sure that we will find what we need. I love you!

Alicia is standing outside Casa de Los Curiel. She sighs and rings the bell. A gentlemen comes to the door. She tells him she would like to see el Senior. The gentlemen tells her that Sr. Gerardo is not in. Alicia is confused and says she wants to see Don Tiodoro (?). The gentlemen informs her that he died. The gentlemen goes to see the widow of Don Tiodoro (?) and says that Alicia Villagomez would like to speak with her. She agrees to see her. Alicia finds out from the gentlemen that Gerardo is married to Lucrecia. Alicia stares at the picture. The widow (Carlota)of Don Tiodoro tells her to get closer and asks her if the rats have eaten her tongue. You have come to talk to me so here I am. Alicia thanks her and says well I have nothing to lose so here goes. Many years ago your late husband knew my mother. Well I am their daughter. My mother and your late husband that is. Wow, replies the widow, you have gumption. Not many people will stand in front of me and claim that they are the bastard child of my late husband. Well yes, replies Alicia. Sorry, but it's the truth. So what do you want? Nothing really asks Alicia. You know I have a son. Are you married asks Carlota. No replies Alicia. He's about to turn 14. He's really good and smart. He always takes top honors in math. But it would be a shame if he could not continue his education. So that is why I came to find my pa... I mean your husband to ask him to help my son with this studies. And your mother asks Carlota. She died about 5 years ago replies Alicia. The same as my husband informs Carlota. What do you do? I am a maid replies Alicia.

Camilo and Ivan are getting ice cream when Camilo points out Ivan's dad. Ivan stares and Camilo tells him that everyone is scared of him. He has a bad temper. If you want to, I can show you the house where he lives.

The gentlemen, Clayto (?), tells Carlota that Alicia just left in the taxi that she called for. Carlota asks him to get her another taxi. She wants to see the family lawyer. If Lucrecia gets here before I do, don't tell her where I went. And don't even mention that that lady came here. No problem replies Clayto (?).

Carlota goes to see the family lawyer who turns out to be sick. She says do you remember that in my husband's will he left a portion of the ranch to his illegitimate daughter? Yes, replies the lawyer. But you don't have to worry. It seems that the earth has swallowed her up. So the ranch is entirely yours. Why? Has she shown up? Yes, replies Carlota. Now it seems I have to give her her portion. The lawyer says didn't your daughter, Lucrecia, borrow some money and put the whole ranch as collateral? Carlota nods. If the bank gave you that loan, it's because of the confidence they have in your family. If they find out that the ranch is not solely yours, then you and your daughter can go to jail for fraud. Think about this. I wouldn't tell her that her father left her anything. This can effect the future of your family.

Alicia tells Celia that she finally has found a job at the Casa de Los Curiel. She is so happy. What about Ivan asks Celia. Well he will live with me says Alicia. And Carolota liked me so much that she said she would pay all of Ivan's schooling. Celia looks at her in disbelief. (something tells me she ain't buying this story)

Carlota begs her late husband for forgiveness. I never got upset with you for having another child. You were so good to be and were so loving and accepting of my daughter. But I cannot let her go to jail. I can't let my family suffer with that pain. Even though your last wish was to make sure that Alicia was taken care of. I promise you that I will always take care of them and eventually that land will be hers. But not right now.

Carlota greets her granddaughters with love while their mother, Lucrecia, tells them to go and take their uniforms off and get ready for dinner. Carlota tells Lucrecia that Alicia Villagomez came today. Don't tell me she knows of my dad's will asks Lucrecia. No replies Carlota. But she came looking for him. Don't tell me says Lucrecia. She came asking for money. What did you tell her? She's single and has a son that's 13 years old. She turned out loose like her mother says Lucrecia. Did she send her? No her mother died says Carlota. But she told her that if she needed anything to look him up. She asked if we would pay for her son's schooling and I accepted. Why asks Lucrecia. She's your father's daughter and has rights replies Carlota. Furthermore we should give her the land that is rightfully hers. No way! Do you hear me? yells Lucrecia. Before that I will fight it! Just like we should have when we found out my father made her an heir. We can't do that says Carlota. Why not asks Lucrecia. She's the product of an affair. I don't understand how you can... I can and I will yells Carlota. I will help that boy and she will stay here and work. No! I don't agree yells Lucrecia. Okay replies Carlota. You either deal with it or we can go to the lawyers now and say the third heir has appeared. And we will give her what's rightfully hers. I can't believe you will accommodate her, the daughter that your husband had with another woman yells Lucrecia. I'm not accommodating that woman's daughter, but Tiodoro's daughter. If the bank finds out that you guaranteed that loan with lands that are not yours, you and I will go to jail.

The girls are getting ready to go out and the oldest daughter (I assume it would be Maripaz) puts on lipstick. Her younger sister (I assume Lucia) tells her she's going to get into trouble. Whatever. I'm a big girl and can do what I want. Anyway I have a boyfriend and we have already kissed. In comes their dad Gerardo (Alejandro Tomassi) greets the girls and tells Maripaz to wipe the lipstick off.

Flash forward to Carlota, Lucrecia and Gerardo arguing. Carlota says we need to think about what we are going to do. It's all been decided yells Lucrecia. Or do you want to wait until that baby is born and everyone sees the disgrace of this idiot (referring to Maripaz who is in the same room with them all). Gerardo yells that they can get married. Marry that good for nothing? I will be dead before I would allow that yells Lucrecia and she goes to slap Maripaz but is stopped by Gerardo. Lucrecia storms out of the room. Maripaz tells Carlota and Gerardo that she doesn't want the baby to be born either.

Back to Maripaz taking off her lipstick.

Ivan asks Camilo to take him to see his father's house.

Gerardo and Juan Jaime are talking business. Looks like Gerardo may not be the best businessman. Juan Jaime tells him not to plant the potatoes that he was thinking. Lucrecia agrees with Juan Jaime and sort of puts him down. Juan Jaime's youngest son comes up (David) and tells his mother, Esther, that's he's hungry. She asks him to wait. Dinner will be ready in 1 hour. He says he's really hungry, but mean daddy says suck it up. He then tells his wife to quit coddling him or he'll wind up a sissy. Gerardo doesn't like the way Juan Jaime talked to his son by the look on his face. Juan Jaime yells for his oldest son, Saul, to tell the manservant to fetch him another beer.

Camilo shows Ivan his father's house. They open the gate and peek in. Ivan asks about his siblings. He says that one day he will have a bigger house, 3 dogs and 2 or 3 cars.

Gerardo and family return home. He tells Lucrecia that he's tired of her making him look like a fool at every opportunity. She tells him she doesn't mean to, but should take Juan Jaime's advice. Gerardo asks her why can't they get someone to take care of all this while he does what he loves. Because they always steal from you replies Lucrecia. What you did before (didn't catch it) wasn't making enough. Don't you know how we were living before? He starts to defend himself but Carlota comes up and asks how it went. Gerardo leaves and Carlota asks what's wrong? Lucrecia says the same old thing. He wants to return to his old job. Please! But that what he wants says Carlota. That is what he may like, but not me. I don't want people to say I married an idiot that is good for nothing. You mean everyone or Don Jaime asks Carlota.

We come back from commerical and the girls argue.

Alicia and Ivan show up at the Casa de Los Curiel. Ivan asks when will he be able to go to school. Hopefully soon replies Alicia. Dona Carlota says she knows people and can get you in. Ivan says he wants to go to the same school as Camilo. Of course, says Alicia. Dona Carlota won't send you to a special school. Ivan tells her the Camilo took him to see this father's house. How nice replies Alicia. Will I get to meet him asks Ivan. Of course my love says Alicia. When asks Ivan. One of these days says Alicia.

Lucrecia informs her mother that since he contracted Alicia, she will be the one talking to her. Also remember to tell her that I don't want her son running around the garden.

Ivan is looking in awe at the pool. The girls are running outside and Maripaz running backwards trips on his suitcase and falls into the pool. She says you idiot! Look what you did! Ivan says he's sorry. He tries to help her out, but she yells for him not to touch her. Luisa asks if she's hurt, but Maripaz keeps hurling insults at Ivan. Luisa tells her it wasn't his fault and to stop yelling. Maripaz walks away angry. He apologizes again. Luisa picks a flower and gives it to him.

Juan Jaime is talking to his wife, Esther, and insulting Gerardo. He tells her he'll be back later. She asks when will he return. He gives her a dirty look. Sorry she says, I just wanted to know if you would be back for dinner. He informs her that he'll be back when he feels like it. (I really can't stand this man already. This would not fly in my house). He leaves and she says it would be nice if he never returned.

Lucrecia tells Carlota that she knew those "people" would cause problems already. Because that kid threw Maripaz into the pool. Carlota tells her not to be foolish. Maripaz was distracted and fell over the suitcase into the pool. Well he shouldn't have left the suitcase there says Lucrecia and leaves the room. Gerardo comes in and asks what's up. Carlota explains and asks him how can he stand her sometimes? Honestly, I don't know replies Gerardo.

The kitchen maid tells Alicia and Ivan not to worry. It's not the first time Maripaz has fallen in the pool. Carlota comes in and tells them not to worry. She sets her eyes on Ivan and she softens more. So you must be Ivan? Yes, Ivan Villagomez. To serve you he replies. Your mom tells me you are really good in school says Carlota. Yes, ma'am says Ivan. I will talk to the director at the school tomorrow to get you in says Carlota. Alicia reminds her about the recommendation letter. Carlota says give it to me tomorrow. Another thing it's best that you don't go to the garden for awhile so that the little demon doesn't get mad. Demon asks Ivan. That's what I call my daughter laughs Carlota. Gerardo comes in and gets introduced to Alicia and Ivan. Do I sense a spark igniting between them?

Alicia is telling Celia all about her duties and Ivan going to school starting Monday. They depart and Alicia runs into Juan Jaime. He asks if she's Alicia. Yes, she replies. Wow, your not as skinny as you use to be (at this point he would be on the ground out cold. I would have decked him for saying that). So what are you doing here asks Juan Jaime. I came back. I'm working here replies Alicia. As a maid asks Juan Jaime. Yes answers Alicia looking at the ground. So tell me did you get married? No, but I have a son says Alicia. Oh yeah. Who's asks Juan Jaime. Yours says Alicia. Ah, so it was born replies Juan Jaime. He's almost turning 14. He's very handsome and great in school says Alicia. His name is Ivan. So you don't have a boyfriend asks Juan Jaime. No says Alicia. Well I can help that kid replies Juan Jaime. Really asks the gullible, naive, must have been hidden away and doesn't know how the real world can be full of pigs and one is looking at you Alicia. Do you really want to know him? Well you said he's mind right asks Juan Jaime. But before we need to talk. Why don't you meet me Sunday at the ranch around 12. Of course says Alicia.

Maripaz and friend are talking about boys. Ivan comes up and is spying on them. Friend asks who that is. Just the son of the servant. Lucia comes out and greets Maripaz friend. Maripaz tells her to go away. Her friend asks her why she's so mean to her sister. Because she gets on my nerves. Maripaz pours water on the glass table and we get a flash forward to a much older Maripaz standing before Ivan in the shower in her birthday suit asking Ivan if he likes her. She rips off his shirt (and so would I) and he tells her why would she ask that. She knows he does. They kiss and she tells him that she likes him. (So do I especially with no shirt on!)

Ivan goes to his father's house again and peeks in. He sees David sitting by the fountain reading a book then his older brother Saul throwing a ball at him and smacking him the head. Suddenly a voice yells out, "What are you doing here"! Nothing says Ivan. Are you a thief asks Juan Jaime. No, I'm not says Ivan. Well get out of here says Juan Jaime. He walks up to David and asks him what's he's doing? Reading a book on animals he replies. Juan Jaime yanks the book out of his hands and tells him that he should be riding his bike or throwing the ball around. Not reading a book like a sissy. He walks away with a sad David watching him go. Juan Jaime enters the house yelling for Esther. He tells her that she needs to be paying attention to David. All he does is read. Didn't I tell you to put him in karate? Yes, but he doesn't like it says Esther. When I was his age I ran around playing and chasing girls. He's that way because of you. Juan Jaime walks away and Esther spots David in the corner. He asks her why his dad doesn't love him? But he does replies Esther. Well he's always yelling at me and not like he yells at Saul. Mother and son both cry.

Ivan is with Clayto and is helping him clean the car. Lucia comes up and starts talking to him. Maripaz comes up and ruins the fun.

Alicia tells Celia about Ivan starting school and Carlota treats Ivan really well. Celia wants Alicia and Ivan to come for dinner after church. Alicia tells her she can't and why. Celia doesn't like the sound of this. Alicia assures her she will be find. Anyway she needs to think about her son. Celia says she's to innocent and cautions her. Family comes in from soccer and interrupts.

Alicia talks to Ivan about meeting with Juan Jaime. If they get along great then perhaps he can pay for his schooling and college. Seems like Ivan doesn't want to meet him. They finally reach the ranch and Alicia tells Ivan to greet his father. Juan interrupts and says "Sr. Juan Jaime". He tells Alicia to take care of Ivan so that he doesn't grow up to be a delinquent. He says the other day he wanted to enter his house to steal from him. Ivan says that's not true. I just was looking. What are you looking inside for asks Juan Jaime. Don't worry, I won't do it again and walks off. Alicia tires to call him back. Juan Jaime tells Alicia to forget about him and takes her inside a little house. Forcefully I might add. He tells her that he will buy her a little house for them to live in so that he can visit them when he wants. She says you said that before but when you found out I was pregnant you fired me. Well that's because I had problems. But not anymore. He starts touching her. So you will help my son asks Alicia. Of course says Juan Jaime. You look more womanly and I'm tired of picking up woman here and there. I want something more permanent. So what do you think? I will rent the house for you tomorrow. He starts to forcefully kiss her and Ivan runs in and tries to pull him off. Juan Jaime shoves him and Ivan hits a cabinet and it falls on top of him.

We see Sandra Echeverria and the amazing and talented Marc Anthony singing the theme song.

Tomorrow: Ivan says he wants nothing from his father; grown up Ivan yells he's going to kill him.

Triunfo del Amor #172 8/1/11 El Gran Final -- The Sandoval Saga: The Final Chapter

Reprise:
Special Sauce
Bernarda sits alone at the carefully laid table, sips her wine and begins to eat her freshly dressed salad.

An acid remark
Bernie must be eating her salad right now, says Eva. Why should I care, sniffs Rox. Eva smiles wickedly: Because it has a special dressing – acid!

Bernie swallows a forkful and then clutches at her throat. Something is burning her from inside... destroying her inside... She falls to the floor, writhes in agony, and clutches blindly for the phone which falls out of reach.

Luncheon on the Grass
Cruz and Fer bring little Vicki to the picnic at Casa Sandoval. The kid is a champ – she allows herself to be passed from one adult to another without making a peep. Grandma Victoria makes a big fuss over her. Uncle Max introduces her to her cousins, little Osvaldo and little JP.

Three rats, one rathole
Xi whines about their living conditions. Only one bathroom for all these bedrooms, she says. And roaches everywhere! Eva tells kvetchy Xi that if she doesn’t like the place, she can leave. Es un asco (It’s disgusting) Xi says snottily and stalks out, pulling her suitcase behind her.

The Sandoval picnic is a love-fest with smiles and hugs all around. Now María arrives and fusses over little Vicki; next Pipino takes a turn. Then Osvaldo and Oscar arrive from the tennis courts and Fer proudly introduces her father to his new granddaughter: Victoria Robles Sandoval.

Os takes them by surprise with the news that he’s going to Spain – it’s a professional opportunity of a lifetime. Vic wishes him well and the two hug affectionately.

Looking for another rathole
Gui is rehearsing when the doorbell sounds. When he sees it’s Xi – and with a suitcase, no less – he tries to get rid of her. He still has the cellphone video showing her killing Linda, he says. Well then we’re even, says Xi complacently, one murderer to another: Imagine what would happen if Ofelia’s remains appeared. Besides, Xi can help him rehearse. Gui scoffs at the idea but Xi insists she knows Desdemona’s lines and can do a better reading than Leonela.

Osvaldo says goodbye to the family and promises he’ll see them before he leaves for Spain. He takes Vic’s hands and kisses them. Cuídate mucho, he tells her. He’s trying hard not to cry.

As he walks to his car, he crosses paths with the lumbering Dr. Todo.

Ceci n’est pas une pipe / This is not a pipe.
I’m not your enemy, Todo tells him, fingers crossed out of sight. We’re both in love with the same woman. It’s my good fortune that she chose me. Tough break, Os. But it’s not like I’m trying to steal your family away or take your place. (Yeah right.)

Os understands. He asks only one thing: that Todo make Vic happy. She deserves it. He looks back wistfully at his beautiful family on the lawn.

Adiós, esposo mío.
Ximena recites Desdemona’s lines. She holds a glass of wine aloft.
Gui is surprised she knows the part so well. Just one of many things he doesn’t know about her, Xi reminds him, allowing him a generous sip of her wine. Anyway, she came to wish him luck in his opening and the best good luck charm (amuleto) is making love. They decide to test the theory.

Back to the picnic. Now PJP arrives and meets little Vicki.

Todo has something to say to everyone. He doesn’t know what they think of him -- Some may be criticizing or judging or even condemning him. But he loves Vic and she loves him. He just wants to make her happy.

He repeats the same twaddle he fed to Os: he has no intention of usurping Osvaldo’s family. He’s just asking for a chance. They know him as a doctor; now he’d like them to get to know him as a man.

Max speaks for the family. Os is their father and they love him but that doesn’t mean they won’t respect Victoria’s decision: Welcome to the family!

While Max and Todo exchange a heartfelt man-hug, Max’s two mommies watch proudly: What a great son we have!

Honeymoon on Tar Beach
Napo and Mili continue their one-day honeymooning on the roof of the vecindad. They relax on their chaise lounges sipping cool drinks. The neighbors dance attendance on them in their pretend resort.

Eva??? Padre Juan Pablo calls her name when no one meets him at the door of his mother’s house. Where is she? She never goes out on Sunday. Mamá? He walks toward the dining room, sees her dinner still on the table and then catches sight of Bernie on the floor. She’s alive (damn!)but unconscious. He pulls out his cellphone.

At Casa Sandoval, Todo’s phone rings. Call an ambulance, he says to his caller, and he’ll head to the hospital. Todo turns to Vic before rushing off: That was Juan Pablo. There’s a emergency with his mother.

María feels a little twinge of conscience – Bernie is her grandmother, after all. Maybe she should be with her now. Do what you think is right, says Max. But some people don’t deserve to be forgiven. María stays put.

It’s like old times with Gui and Xi rutting like pigs -- although this time he lets her into the actual bed -- until Gui passes out. Ximena laughs wickedly.

The idyllic afternoon at Casa Sandoval continues. Victoria, Toni, Oscar and Pip have an announcement. María, Fer and Max have inherited – and learned – (here Toni nods in Max’s direction) Vic’s design talent, right? The grown-ups have decided the three will have their own line of clothing: Fer and María will design for young women and Max for young guys. Everyone agrees it’s a great idea but María wonders where will they find the start-up money.

Now Max has something to tell them: Osvaldo put the title of the theater in his name. (He wanted to make up for all the tsuris he caused when he sold his shares in the original Casa Victoria to buy the theater in the first place.) Very soon they will have legal possession and can sell it, using the proceeds for projects like this one.

Pip leads everyone in a chorus of “Florecita de mis suenos...”

Back at Gui’s place, Xi takes advantage of Gui’s stupor and rifles wildly through his things looking for the incriminating Linda video.

Maybe she bit her tongue
At the hospital, Dr. Todo tells JP that his mother is out of danger. She ingested poison and they had to pump her stomach. The authorities need to be notified since Todo doesn’t know if the poisoning was accidental or if someone tried to kill her.

Xi is still rifling. She finds a wad of bills and grabs it. Then she spots a CD -- It’s the kidnap video, the director’s cut!
Así que Bernarda y Guillermo se involucraron en el secuestro de MD y Victoria. Ahora los tengo en mis manos.
(So B and G were involved in MD and Vic’s kidnapping. Now I have them in my hands.)

In the vecindad, Cruz is pulling an all-nighter, cramming for an exam. His dad is proud of him – he’s the first Robles to go to the university and he’ll be the first with a professional degree (título).

And in the little furnished room Eva complains that Xi is an ingrate.

A moment later, there’s a knock at the door. Xi and her suitcase have come back. Xi fake-apologizes to Eva. She promises not to cause any more problems.

Eva’s not especially happy to have her back but agrees to let her stay because she’ll need her to carry out her revenge. They’ll talk about it in the morning.

The morning After
Gui emerges from his stupor, looks around at his place now in a shambles:
¿Qué pasó? ¡Ximena! ¡Me drogó!
(What happened? Ximena! She drugged me!)

He figures Xi was looking for the Linda video. Then he realizes his secuestro CD is missing: She wants to play? Well game on!

Eva steps out to brush her teeth. As soon as she leaves the room, Xi pulls the purloined CD out of her purse and shows it to Rox: It’s our life insurance, she tells her. It’s worth gold! Hide it someplace where no one will find it.

While Eva’s brushing her teeth, Xi is snooping in her purse and finds a set of car keys. Huh? She doesn’t even have a car. Are they Bernie's?

At the sound of Eva’s knocking, Xi hastily puts her things back in the purse and moves back to her own side of the room. Why didn’t they open the door right away? asks Eva, her teeth now minty clean, and she squints at Rox and Xi suspiciously.

Now back at the parish, Padre Juan Pablo laments to Padre Jerónimo: Yesterday was one of the worst days of my life... (Why? Did you get stuck with writing up the two hour gran fin for the parish newsletter? No? Well then don’t complain to me, buster.)

He found his mother on the brink of death. She was poisoned, possibly intentionally and the authorities are investigating. And their prime suspect, of all people, is Eva. She’s the person who had been looking after Bernie and now she’s gone.

Jero is puzzled. What motive could Eva have to harm Bernie? PJP wondered that too so he stopped at the reclusorio and asked Fausto. Remember the married man who seduced and abandoned his mother? The family that Bernie burned alive? Well the man’s wife was Eva’s own sister!

Eva says toodles to XiRox.
She’s off on a fact-finding mission. She needs to be sure that Bernie is really dead. And if not, well, she’ll keep after her until she is.

Xi figures the cops will be after Eva – she’s the only suspect in Bernarda’s poisoning -- so it would be better not to be connected to her. Cuídate, she tells her mother and then she heads out again, leaving Rox alone.

Rox pulls the CD out of her purse and waves it gleefully: This must be worth a lot of money!

Gosh, who could the client be?
At the new Casa Victoria, Pip, Vic, and Toni admire a wedding dress that María has been modeling for them. Oddly enough, the client has the exact same measurements as MD.

Bernie: The Energizer Bunny of Bad
Juan Pablo escorts his mother into her house. She needs to rest. He’ll find someone to take care of her. Not necessary, says Bernie. (Damn. She can still talk. She swallowed acid and the evil tongue is still working. She must have a satanic acid-resistant lining in her gut.) Cuídate, says PJP unnecessarily and he leaves.

Eva releases Fausto from his oath
Eva stops off at the reclusorio to say goodbye to Fausto. She is going to carry out her vengeance and then go far away. But she no longer blames her nephew for refusing to go along with her plan and before she leaves, she’s going to make sure that he is set free. They hug one last time. Eva picks up an envelope from the table and leaves.

On her way out of the prison, Eva stops an official in a business suit and gives him the envelope, asking him to pass it along to his comandante. Con todo gusto, Señora, he replies.

Bernarda plans to call on Fausto too. He’ll give her Eva’s address, whether he wants to or not.

I never realized how talented you were, Max tells Fer as the two review some of her designs. And his design? It’s a surprise.

Now María joins them and gushes about the gorgeous dress she is modeling for the client whose measurements she shares. Max wants her to keep the dress but María explains that it has already been sold.

Xi must have given the CD to the cops, thinks Gui as he gets in his red convertible. The fool! She didn’t realize I’d do the same with hers.

If at first you don’t succeed...
Eva is back at Bernie’s and ready for another try. She opens the hood of Bernie’s car and squirts liquid all over the motor housing. Then she hides and waits.

Right on cue, Bernie emerges from her house. Damn useless servants, she grumbles as she gets in the car, and turns the key. She looks on in horror as the engine bursts into flames! She struggles to get out but the door won’t open. God help me, she screams. Hell itself is coming after me! Noooooooo...

From a comfortable distance, Eva observes the growing flames with unabashed, open-mouthed delight and then slips away.

It’s washday at the vecindad. The Jarochas scandalize Mili with their scanties. Nati, by this time ready to pop, cracks up at their antics and then thinks she has peed her pants. Mili does a quick sniff test and corrects her:
Se te rompió la fuente.
(Your water broke.)
An excited gaggle of neighbors surrounds Nati and leads her away.

In this theater, not all the action takes place on stage
Gui is in his dressing room nearly swooning with anticipatory pleasure. Surely Max has seen the Linda video by now and Xi is probably already behind bars. What a fool to think she could outwit him!

An assistant stops in to remind him they need him in costume – including the steel mesh that goes under the robe. He reports that Leo has arrived and is in her dressing room.

Leo studies her reflection in the mirror over her dressing table and likes what she sees. She’s so nervous, so happy, so grateful to life for the chance to be on stage again as Desdemona... so ... then she is puzzled to see Ximena’s reflection in the mirror. And Leonela’s moment of giddy happiness ends abruptly as Xi conks her on the head and leaves her unconscious.

Gui is now in full costume.

Ximena has put on Desdemona’s long white gown. She holds a dagger and looks nutso ecstatic.

Gui is on the stage emoting like a bastard when he suddenly realizes that the Desdemona he’s trying to strangle is not Leo but Xi. Too late. Xi pulls out the dagger and stabs him. He falls forward on the bed and Ximena runs away. The audience is in an uproar. What happened? Close the curtain! Get her!

At Casa Sandoval Max is puzzled when he finds Gui’s envelope on his desk. But before he can open it, Victoria comes in and tells him they have a surprise visitor: Roxana is there and she wants to talk to the two of them and María. And she seems very nervous.

Back at the prison, the official leaves Eva’s envelope with his chief. Just before he leaves for the day, he turns back and picks up the envelope and opens it: An anonymous letter...

Rox wants to do a little business
She plays the secuestro video for Max, Vic and Maria. She’s not asking a lot of money for it, she tells them amiably, just a few thousand and she’ll go far away.

Rox agrees to wait in the study while Max confers with Vic and María.

The Remains of the Day
Ximena's persistence has finally been rewarded -- the kid has found human bones. Xi, still wearing the long white gown of Desdemona and still clutching a dagger, crows: I knew it! She tells him to dig them up and then bury them in a different spot, making sure to mark the place well. Get it?

(So the kid was hired by Gui, co-opted by Xi, bought back by Gui. This is kind of murky. Who is he really working for at this point? He seems to be a “Love the one you’re with” kind of guy.)

Now help me hide, says XiDemona. Where? Here, she answers. You’re going to bury me! Find a hollow reed and then bury me here and dig me up tomorrow.

The kid hesitates. He is clearly weirded out. Are you sure? he asks. She is. And too bad for you if you don’t dig me up, because you won’t get paid. Now scram!

Back at the Casa Sandoval, Max shows María and Vic the second feature of the evening: the Linda video. Rox may not have been involved in their kidnapping, but she knew very well who killed Linda. So in that case, she is complicit. Max will call the cops while Vic and María go back and stay with Rox so she won’t get suspicious.

(Yes, gentle reader. It is not your imagination. The Sandovals discover a crime and They Are Calling The Police.)

At the theater, the assistant tells Gui that Leonela is still out cold from the blow that Ximena gave her. Well I’d be dead if it weren’t for the steel mesh, he says.

The bone-digging kid may be desperate but he’s not dumb. He decides to cut his losses and run. He doesn’t want any hassles with the cops.

A police car pulls up in front of Casa Sandoval.

Roxana protests her innocence as the police lead her away. They tell her:
La extorsión y la complicidad son delitos muy graves.
(Extorsion and acting as an accomplice are very serious crimes.)

The Afterbirth
In a rare concession to the exhausted sensibilities of the viewer, the writers spare us scenes of Nati’s labor and delivery. We see Mili seated in the waiting area of the Cruz Roja. The vecindad gang crowds around her and jabbers excitedly. Everyone is thrilled about the adorable baby. Napo talked to Juanjo by phone and he’ll be back as soon as he’s done with his course.

At Casa Sandoval, María digests the hard truth: It was Ximena who killed Linda.

At the Garden of Gui and Evil, Ximena the undead speaks to us now from underground, the spot marked by the hollow reed, her air conduit: This is my best hiding place (escondite) and I’m not leaving until those fools stop looking for me!

Morning comes...
Did the earth move for you?
I guess Xi gets tired of waiting for the kid to dig her up because now the ground trembles and the point of a dagger sticks up out of the dirt. Then XiDemona herself follows, emerging from the ground choking and covered with schmutz.

Fausto Finally Gets Justice
His lawyer explains that fingerprints found on the murder weapon exonerate him of any guilt in the actual murder of Tomasa even though he was an accomplice after the fact. (No one ever spells it out, but I suppose we can infer that Eva’s anonymous letter led the cops to the murder weapon.)

Because of time already served plus his good behavior, he is getting out of jail. He’s going to finish his sentence by performing community service.

Fausto doffs his cap humbly, and then hugs his lawyer. Gracias, he says.

Her first wedding present
It’s beautiful, says María looking at the completed wedding gown. And it looks perfect on you, says Fer. You’d think it was made for you, says Toni. María smiles a little regretfully: But it wasn’t.

Here comes Victoria smiling broadly: But it was! The dress is yours – your first wedding gift!

Hugs and laughs. Pipino joins the fun and is present to hear Victoria say that with some of the money from the sale of the theater, they’re buying back the original Casa Victoria and then they’ll have two places to work.

The guests arrive in cars and trucks and even a wedding trolley. Nati carries her new baby. Does Fer have a little baby bump?

Max drives up in a black convertible bedecked with flowers. He greets his moms, Victoria and Leo, and Dr. I’m Not Trying to Take the Place of your Father with warm hugs.

Max steps apart from the group to answer his cellphone. It’s Osvaldo calling from his exile in Spain. He wishes his son and his bride great happiness and he offers some fatherly advice: Never take anything for granted. Os sends his love and blessings.

Now María arrives in a Shetland pony-drawn carriage. She may not be as pretty as Max (well who is?), but she is a lovely bride nevertheless.

Inside the church, Padre Juan Pablo, in gold vestments, with Fausto assisting in black, gives the word to begin. A chamber group sings Beethoven’s Ode to Joy as the family members enter the church and make their way to their places .

Max waits at the altar as María walks down the aisle wearing the regal Casa Victoria creation, the long train trailing behind.

Juan Pablo reads the vows. Papa Cruz sings a not too shabby version of Ave María while the couple and their respective padrinos de anillos, arras, lazo and rosario complete the wedding ritual. Then Padre declares:
Lo que Dios acaba de unir en el cielo, que no le separe el hombre en la tierra. Amen.
(What God has just joined in heaven, let no man put asunder/ let man not separate on earth. Amen.)

Who Let in the Bride of Chucky?
XiDemona, covered in the dust of her recent entombment, looks like she’s ready to do some serious sundering. Dagger raised menacingly, she cries:
¡Zorra! ¡Te vas a morir!(Whore! You’re gonna die!)

She rushes down the aisle heading straight for María. Fortunately, Max is able to fend her off. The cops run into the church right behind her. They point their guns at her and bark: You’re under arrest for the murder of Linda Sortini! Somehow Xi manages to slip away and the cops run after her and out of the church.

The wedding guests take it all in. They are momentarily stunned but recover quickly. Just business as usual at a Sandoval affair. (Kevlar vests optional.)

PJP tells the congregation they’ve all just witnessed proof that evil never triumphs. The force of love is indestructible. True love conquers all obstacles. All roads lead us to the same place – to the triumph of love. Never forget it.

Bernie remembers:

She survived what seemed like certain fiery death when the car exploded in flames by kicking out a window and making her way free.

Eva, holding a lit candle, threatened she’d burn her alive to avenge her sister Rosalía’s fiery death but Bernarda overpowered the small, elderly woman, choking her until she, and her candle, fell helpless to the floor

Back in the present, Bernie lifts her glass and looks heavenward. Good times!

She smirks in the sun and once again intones: Por ti y para ti, mi Señor. Gracias.

Bernarda descends in the glass elevator of her luxury hotel and then trots through the lobby as the men in suits watch from a balcony. The suspect is trying to escape, say the suits. Block the exits! But it’s too late. Bernie is already getting into her car: To the airport and make it snappy! The car pulls out.

The Mexico City cops aren’t having much luck either. They figure Xi has gone to Gui’s but by the time they get to his place, he’s already gone. Why did he leave all his luggage behind? They find muddy footprints and conclude: He must have left with Ximena! Let’s go!

The Acapulco cops give chase but find their way blocked by a camioneta. It’s just enough of a delay to allow Bernarda to get to the airport first. She boards the waiting Satanair private jet. She grouses at the flight attendant for the seeming delay and demands immediate take-off. One hand holds a crucifix and the other hoists a wine glass. She toasts to her God and to herself – to her intelligence, her shrewdness. Thank you, Lord!

Cue the chant.

Hellfire One
Bernarda’s plane takes off and soars through the sky. Then it seems to be losing altitude ... oh no... we watch as the plane explodes and is completely consumed by a ball of fire.

Bernarda de Iturbide is surely in hell now. (I can’t speak to the final destination of the flight attendant, copilot and pilot who were on board with her. In my opinion, anvils should be more precisely aimed than this one.)

The police interrupt Padre Juan Pablo in his prayers with shocking news: La señora Bernarda de Iturbide murió en un accidente. (She died in an accident.)

Juan Pablo is left alone, kneeling before the Virgin de Guadaloupe. He remembers how his mother used to say that there was no mortal power that could defeat her. It was God’s hand that finally stopped her from doing more harm.

Good news travels fast
Victoria’s not happy Bernarda is dead but she’s not sad either, she tells Heri. She was guilty of many offenses and she deserved to pay for them.

The last surviving scoundrels speed along the highway in Gui’s red roadster. I don’t know how, but you always get your way, says Gui to his soulless mate. I like dangerous games, agrees Xi:
El peligro y el dolor me provocan un gran placer.
(Danger and pain give me great pleasure.)
Gui and Xi laugh dementedly at the things that matter to others: fame, prestige, fortune. Who cares?

Sirens wail.

You know what, loquita? They’re on our tail! Go faster, urges Ximena. I don’t want to end up in jail or a nuthouse!

Gui take a swig of whiskey, laughs again and pulls the car to the side of the road. We lost them! They kiss. He is holding a gun. The sound of the sirens gets closer.

Go! says Ximena. Gui drives a little farther and then reaches the end of the road. A steep precipice lies in front of them. Police cars are lined up several yards behind them blocking any possible escape. The cops order them to get out of the car with their hands up and kneel on the ground. They sound a warning shot.

It’s just like in the movies, says Gui with a certain delight. But Xi says again that she doesn’t want to go to jail or get locked up in a nuthouse. Should they make like Thelma and Louise?

They put their hands together and Ximena slashes their wrists with her dagger. They both wince at the pain. Gui is sure they’ll end up together in another life:
Una pareja como tú y yo es inmortal.
(A pair like us is immortal.)
(Let’s hope not.)

Hellfire Two
More demented laughter. The police wait, guns trained in their direction. They watch as the top of the convertible is raised. Gui closes his eyes and steps on the accelerator and the car plunges over the precipice, rolling over and over until it reaches bottom where it explodes in flames.

¡A ver! ¡Una sonrisa!
The family and their groupies pose in front of Casa Sandoval. Juan Pablo has the penultimate word:
La oscuridad y el mal sólo pueden ser vencidos por el triunfo del amor.
(Darkness and evil can only be conquered by the triumph of love.)

Whatever floats your boat
A full moon. Max and María in a rowboat decked with flowers. Hey, let’s not worry about how -- or why -- they stuffed that long, elegant gown in that tiny boat. It’s just a pretty picture, folks.

After 176 episodes, Marco di Mauro gets some face time as he sings ♪♪A partir de hoy♪♪. The camera cuts back and forth from the image of the singer to our lovely groom and handsome bride and muchos smoochos.

While the guests watch from the shore, undoubtedly armed with matamoscas (fly swatters) against the mosquitoes, the couple simper their final simper:
Nothing could keep them apart. They always had strength and courage and above all love. That’s why they are celebrating the true triumph of love.
Smoochies.

Epilogue*
*Don’t be cursing your poor DVR for cutting off the end. The following scenes take place exclusively in NovelaMaven’s troubled imagination.

Tiempo Después

Victoria soon grows weary of living with a platitude machine, especially one with an unfortunate propensity for flatulence. She discovers that breaking up with Heriberto isn’t easy. Even after she tells him, gently but unequivocably, that it’s all over between them, he continues to pop up uninvited wherever the family gathers.

Meanwhile Alonso’s sole surviving relative, a maiden aunt living in Oaxaca, raises questions about her nephew’s untimely demise. When she learns that his physician concealed Alonso’s diagnosis even though treatment existed and indeed was life-saving for two others who contracted the disease, she accuses Ríos of acting unethically.

A subsequent investigation uncovers numerous episodes of medical malfeasance; but most shocking of all – Heriberto Ríos Bernal has never been licensed to practice medicine. The charismatic Cuban conman has a long history of exploiting wealthy families at vulnerable times in their lives. Even his tragic past is shown to be pure fiction, finely calculated to engage the sympathy of his prey.

Ríos is found guilty of negligent homicide as well as numerous counts of fraud and is sentenced to many years in prison.

María and Max, while technically complicit in Alonso’s death, are not charged with any crime because they are not mentally competent to stand trial. The aunt in Oaxaca is, however, considering a civil suit.

Ever resilient and resourceful, Heriberto converts himself into a successful jailhouse lawyer, earning privileges and prestige among his fellow inmates. A few years later, lic. Heri escapes during a prison riot. Some say he is now practicing psychiatry in Buenos Aires; others swear they have seen him in ads on late-night Miami tv hawking his legal services.

Once Dr. Ríos is unmasked, many inconsistencies are explained:

The Swiss vaccine was a fraud. Both Max and María recovered as a result of supportive treatment and sympathetic writers.

María’s diminished kidney function was transient; a kidney transplant was never needed nor was it ever performed. Victoria and María were subjected to sham procedures for which the Sandovals were bilked out of many millions of pesos.

Both of Fer’s surgeries were actually done by a competent neurosurgery resident. Heri’s abysmal management of post-op therapy nearly sabotaged the success of the procedures.

The hospital is found complicit in the fraudulent activity and under the weight of the scandal and the crushing fines, it, including the Sandoval pavilion, is forced to close. Since it was TOHIM (The Only Hospital in Mexico), the Sandoval family now drives to Puebla for their medical care although the vecindad gang still go to the Cruz Roja, as they have always done. And in a pinch, everyone goes to the animal doc, Cruz. A mammal, after all, is a mammal.

Osvaldo’s project in Spain is a resounding success making him a director’s darling once again. He is courted by Televisa, TVAzteca and Telemundo, each anxious to bring him back to Mexico.

His intense romance with a sympathetic Madrileña ends when he and the gorgeous and soulful Marisol realize that his family and the woman he loves are back in Mexico.

He and Victoria meet again as equals, both humbled by their lapses. Victoria now understands how one can be dazzled by the light of a new passion to the point of blindness. Their mutual forgiveness is heartfelt and their love for one another is rich and profound.

Our hero, Osvaldo, the true moral center of the tale, once again takes his place as the Sandoval paterfamilias, a place he will enjoy for many years. And God knows this bunch will need him.

Padre Juan Pablo is profoundly shaken as more and more of his mother’s evil comes to light under the investigation spearheaded by the Sandoval family. With Fausto’s help, even the heartbreaking murder of Sor Clementina is revealed.

He is tormented by knowing that while he was silenced by the seal of the confessional, his mother continued to loose her wickedness on the world. He is disappointed by the Archbishop and his willingness to be swayed by Bernarda’s pocketbook. He remembers Octavio, the man he knew as his father and how he warned him not to allow Bernarda to force him into the priesthood before he had a chance to experience the secular. He makes a bold decision. Setting aside his soutane – and with the blessing of his old friend and mentor, Padre Jerónimo – he enters the world again. He is no less a man of faith but one who chooses to serve God and man in a different way.

He is the sole heir of Bernarda’s vast fortune and looks for ways to use it to do good.

Upon learning of the miserable conditions of the tenants in her extensive properties, he invests time and money to improve their lot. He rewards good tenants with equity in their apartments and their ownership motivates them to keep up all the improvements.

He enlists María’s help in a project to help abandoned children.

He enlists the help of Fausto and Oscar in his personal justice project: to find the families of his mother’s innocent victims so he can apologize to them, indemnify them for their loss, and most importantly honor the memory of those who suffered because of her malice.

Leonela takes the next step in her recovery when she starts to look beyond her own needs and to resonate with the joys and sorrows of others. She helps Juan Pablo in his children’s project and the two become close friends. Only time will tell if their relationship becomes something more intimate.

Bernarda writhes eternally in the flames of hell.

Cuando Me Enamoro #74 Monday 8/1/11 Spilt Milk, Spilt Guts, Spilt Tears, and a River of Lies

We get a rewind of Constanza’s tearful answer to Chema’s simple question: So how was the wedding? Perhaps Fatal is the best word she says then spills tears about Matias' and Roberta's loveless wedding, Roberta’s pregnancy, with Jeronimo who betrayed Renata, Blanca’s pregnancy with Honorio who betrayed her and she has asked for a divorce. Chema, who wants to kiss away her tears, also wants a chance with her when she is free.

He is on the verge of telling her that her mother is the one who told him about her relationship with his brother and she slaps him silly before he can get it out and tells him to get out of her life. Renata gets to slap Jeronimo up side the head while satisfaction fills Caray Caray living rooms. He will love her forever more. She tells him he is sick. How could he do the damage he has done to her. Then she rants, yeah, go ahead and believe that I am the one who betrayed your bother and I am La Bonita. He tries to kiss her and tell her he doesn’t believe that she doesn’t love him.

Still acting stupid like there is sense in the world and Blanca is a sane person, Honorio shows up at Blanca’s condo to talk sense, huh? The doorman won’t let him in for love or money. Honorio says but her car is here, she must be here. He offers a propina, tip but doorman says no. Blanca in the shadows hissing, continue screaming for me, Hon, and believing that I am expecting our baby. (Her eggs aren’t just hard-boiled; they were pickled in pure acid.) But her curls are indeed tighter and every time she looks more like the Medusa, we might expect snakeheads to swim around her head soon.

Fina and Roberta fight over the no luna de miele and how to keep a husband you only want for money not love. Roberta says you have made me infertile form the miscarriage and all you care about is the 10-year clause slipped into the Pre-nup agreement. You don’t care how Matias or I feel you only care about being richer. And I will learn to sleep in my bed alone like YOU do every night.

Gonzo and Matias he isn’t going on honeymoon and is not going to move into Roberta’s bed. The guys seem to decide that they don’t have love and perhaps soon no money. Gonzo says they shouldn’t have trusted Linares and he is ready to leave Matias decision to home.

Regina and Carlos discuss that Renata doesn’t want to forgive her but she won’t be vanquished for love or money even if Jeronimo does gives up.

Lazaro tries to console Ezequiel with some food and love at the shelter. Ezek isn’t hungry, but takes the plate and the implied love from his friend. Arely and Lazaro discuss that he loves someone who is with another. Arely knows who is Alfonsina’s baby daddy, but Arely feels fidelity to Alfonsina. Lazaro is upset that if she knows who is the father of the baby that she has to help his friend who he has had for his whole life. She won’t betray Alfonsina but will keep her promise to not tell what she saw in the vineyard.

Kari has waking nightmares still tied in the bed next to the drunken Dr Nastynesme who murmurs Alfonsina’s name in his dirty dreams. Kari has all the flashbacks of Padre almost discovering her while she remembers him accusing Nasty of abusing Alfonsina, then she remembers Alfonsina almost confessing her nasty deed with her in spite of all, I love you speech. Kari lies tied in the bed and pathetically cries that her husband and now her best friend have betrayed her.

Matilde and Alfonsina discuss that they have not seen Kari. Alfonsina tells Matilde tells that Ezek has menaced all the workers at La Bonita. Alfonsina vows to fix her own problems. Matilde has advice for a change that isn’t schoolgirl stupid. Seems like little dunderhead is growing up by leaps and bounds (Just like her ardent supporter, Dr. Carlos predicted.)

Renata comes back in after her slapping session and telling Jero to get out of her life. She comes into her sheet draped room and goes right to 5x7 wedding pictures in her fashionable hand bag, as the sweet words, “Hay amor…” pulls our heartstrings in the background. She remembers with a smile the sweet event then tears the pictures into strips and falls to the floor crying, I hate you, I hate you. As the sad strains say it isn’t possible for us to live one without the other….. tears aren’t good for keyboards, thanks for the ad break, now where’s that mop…

What happened says clueless Jero, getting his turn at being disbelieved and mistrusted. He vows to fight to recover her love.

Honorio and Adriana eat together and Adriana says Renata is heartbroken and will seek a divorce and an annulment. Hon says Consta has asked for a divorce. Smarter than anyone else, Adri says to Honorio in her non-judgmental voice, would you do the same in your place, that is, forgive an infidelity? Hom tries to insist, but, its different in his case. Adri says, in a relationship, you can’t ask what you wouldn’t give. Hon considers this profundity from the wise little Adriana.

Consta and Gonz meet at Consta’s. (Notice Gonzo spends absolutely no time at home with Fina when he doesn’t have to) Consta is so heart broken that Honorio is a babydaddy, and says she feels so empty, He advises her not to go to someone for loneliness like he did with Fina. (We don’t really know how his first marriage went, but) he says, don’t fool yourself, I will support whatever you do. Loneliness isn’t a good counselor.

Fina demands information from Renata, what did Jero say to her out there was he trying to say to change her mind? Then, her next worry, what did Gonzo tell her, She tells Renata he has demanded she apologize for not making her feel like she could stay in her house. He demands that she can stay in the house for as long as she wants. Renata, while she can’t believe her mother went to Jero to tell lies, is burning inside with being made to be nice to her. Renata doesn’t really want to hear it so says in mocking tones, let’s tell him you were here and offered your apology and gave me welcome and support, so you did all the things you promised. Fina has to rub in a bit more hurt so again grinds in how the mess is all her fault and she told her so from the beginning. Renata screams that she is not going to take any more humiliation, any more insults or hurt from any one else. She demands her mother get out of her bedroom and Fina turns her heel literally on a piece of a photo of Renata and Jero and stomps out in her nasty blue fuzzy slippers.

Adriana is imagining and dreamy in her bed. She and Matias meet with the rest of the nasty family magically melted away. She tells Matias, you have never stopped surprising me. She loves him more than ever even though he has so gallantly married Roberta. She dreams in fuzzy vignetted pictures (hmm, she has Adobe Lightroom 3 installed in her brain) that she and Matias meet in a club and he tells what their destiny might be, and has she considered what she really means to him. She has really opened his heart and they have a future and his heart is hers. She says she will carry this forever but since he married Roberta they can’t be together now. But he want so to be with her and she says they will be together this night. True love, sweet kisses and guitar riffs help her enjoy the beginnings of Roberta’s supposed wedding night. The singer croons love me, call me, love me…

Carlos jumps out to surprise Matilde with a whole bouquet of paper flowers saying she owes him a kiss for each one of them. She teases that has too much do to kiss him that many times. They will have to wait until later. They are in fun flirt mode. We all need this desperately tonight.

Arely and Lazaro walk in the refuge center, she wants to know if she doesn’t like her. He says she is incredible and beautiful, but for years he has loved only one person and his heart isn’t available. It is Karina, the wife of Dr. Nesmenasty. She is surprised at his confession and assures him that some day Karina will love him as he deserves. She doubts she will find someone as wonderful as he is . He assures her she will find someone special to love her. She is a queen and deserves love and care from someone worthy of herself. Someone will give her beautiful things. She confesses she is leaving tomorrow and she will miss him. She finally says she will try to get Alfonsina to confess who is the babydaddy, then she tells him it is Dr. Nasty. Lorenzo’s face is formidable with meaning.

Later, Jero is dressed up and enters the Monterrubio mad mansion in time for Matias to punch him twice really fast while he yells that he is an imbecile, Matias throws things they wrestle. Enter Gonzo who pulls them apart saying fights aren’t their style. They struggle until the whole family comes down the stairs to see the struggle. They all scream for him to leave but he insists that he is not leaving until they listen to him. Gonzo orders him out no one in the family wants anything to do with him.

Back in Baja, Regina packs and says she must return to the city to see what she can do. Things are going so badly with Jeronimo and Renata. Carlos counsels Regina not to return to the danger in the city but she is committed to winning back Renata’s trust. Carlos thinks she is more a friend of Jero than of Renata but she says from the beginning she has had such special feelings about Renata that she wants to get back Renata’s trust then aid Renata’s return to Jero. I feel sad, ashamed and frustrated for all she been part of and is not going to stay here safe and locked in. She will take the risk because she is ready to redefine her life. Sometimes life throws you some strange times to show you what your own pathway should be.

Jero tries to tell Renata that her MOHER told her that Renata was the lover of Rafa. Gonzo looks interested but Fina in her finest hour screams that it is all lies and turns the lies and blame right back on him. She does indignation like a pro. Then Roberta who could come clean at this moment channels pure Fina and condemns Jero for betraying them all. If what he says is true that he was trying to prove his brother’s killer why did he marry Renata? Fina call his lies most cruel she is indignant that he has trashed her precious daughters. Gonzo says now you have attacked Fina and Roberta who is next Matias or me. Jero says his great error was to believe this woman, Fina. She whines and clings to Gonzo and Roberta. Renata is turning her head and perhaps her mind back and forth as the volley of accusations and lying answers go around the room. Renata is asked, who do you believe Renata, us or the man who has made your life an inferno Fina protests her actions of being against their marriage were her well intentioned attempt to protect her. Jero calmly says again I swear your mother swore to me that you were the lover of Rafa and you were la Bonita. Fina does great pouty face with Roberta and Renata chooses to believe her lying ass mother rather than Jero. She doesn’t believe him and his lies and she never will again. (Just deserts I guess, but I did like that the ad for Triunfo that showed in next moment a character in wedding garb clutching a large evil looking knife storming the wedding aisle screaming, you are going to die! and I am sure for just a moment I was channeling that crazy woman. I know that Jero has to suffer to earn his punishment but do we all too.)

Oh my, Dona Cata, who acts like she is the one who wants Antonio for herself is counseling Antonio that they both think Regina is safer out at Baja. But when her daughter makes up her mind, nothing and no one can change it. So they must know she is headed back into the inferno. He confesses that her interest in Gonzo disconcerts him a lot. Cata knows that Gonzo isn’t a free man and his intentions toward her daughter can’t be acted on, but she is worried. Antonio asks Cata to help him marry Regina the minute she comes back to the city.

Jero and Gonzo sit down, Gonzo says he wants to clarify something. The fearsome fivesome sit down, almost civilized then in a very quiet voice, Gonzo asks him how could he dare how could he dare trick Renata. Renata and Roberta chime in that he is a rat bastard (well, loose translation but accurate). He asks fina once more to tell the truth and she says the only truth is that no one in the family wants to have any more to do with him. Gonzo says he has betrayed the love of his daughter Renata and lost all confidence in him and he wants him to leave never to return to hurt or to betray his family. Jero quietly goes out the door. Fina clutches Gonzo in triumph but has enough venom to say to Renata you cry for this bastard but I told you from the beginning that this was a rat bastard and you wouldn’t listen. Roberta and Fina look mighty satisfied. Matias looks like he wants to jump into Renata’s arms. Gonzo looks like he wants to be anywhere else but being slimed by Fina.

Blanca pays off the doorman/neighbor and it looks like a whole lot more pesos than Honorio was offering. I think she said next time tell him I have moved and there will be more of this.

Jero comes to Const’s house. She wants to get ice for his face that he says came from a fight with Matias. Do you me resolve everything with fists. He thanks her for being the only family member that doesn’t hate him. She says she has her reasons. But she wants to know why he betrayed the love of Renata. He begs her to understand that Fina misled him and does she know who she really is. Consta finally admits that she believes him and tells him to sit down and tell him everything that Fina told him.

The loving family discuss the interesting day. Roberta maintains that Jero must have wanted to take control of the baby, his baby that she is carrying, she is smiling at being able to wound Renata further (we are going to remember this when your rehabilitation review comes up at Caray Caray Central, sister) but she wants the baby to only know Matias a papa. Matias says they will none of them have anything to do with Jeronimo ever again.

The condemned Jero shows up next at Adriana’s who tells him that he has lost the love of Renata forever. Then Adriana is the one to reveal to him that they are all in a snit because the story is that the baby Roberta is expecting is not Matias’ but is HIS. I am picking up my bucket over flowing with tears and yet know there are rivers more for tomorrow.

Next capitulos: Jero is on a mission and with better information moves forward to demand that he be heard and even that they will go to DNA tests. I am guessing that the miscarriage will be re-enacted soon so they can gang up on Renata again and she can remain full of doubt and pain.
