Mundo de Fieras - EPISODE 31 - Nov. 14, 2006

Posted for Jody ----

* Clemente is staring straight at Dolores in the front patio driveway - Miriam and Karen are talking as they walk down the stairway. Karen spots Dolores and tells Miriam the murderer is there again. They hurriedly walk down to join Clemente. Clemente informs Karen that Dolores is her dad's sister - Karen is shell shocked. Miriam yells at Dolores for daring to return to the palace and slaps her. Karen in shock cries and wants an explanation. Miriam drags her to the waiting car and they take off.

* Demian tries again to force Tiberio to accept Dolores as his mom. Tiberio thinks to himself that he won't do it.

* Federico and Gabriel are in the psychiatric hospital waiting area talking about Jossie. Federico tries to convince Gabriel to call off the divorce and reconcile - Gabriel won't change his mind.

* The doctors go in to check on Jossie in her room. They want to discuss with her what happened earlier (her suicide attempt in the high stairwell) and why she did it. Jossie thanks them for their help and understanding.

* JC and Pau are at work talking - he declares his love and adoration for her.

* At the boutique office, Miriam comes clean and tells Karen the truth - that her aunt Dolores tried, convicted and sent to jail for killing Karen's father.

* Dolores is sitting at a restaurant with Clemente, telling him her story about the past (Edgar's murder, the trial).

* Karen braces herself on the desk and listens as Miriam rants and spouts her opinions about Dolores the murderer.

* Clemente listens calmly and intently to Dolores tell her side of the story. Dolores informs him that she returned to reunite with her son.

* The taxi drivers (Sylvester, Shorty, Mayeya, others) are at the stand talking and having fun. Mayeya starts poking fun with Shorty - she ends up kissing him multiple times on his cheeks - he feels offended and leaves.

* Dolores thanks Clemente for listening to her - he says that he believes her, she can count on him for friendship and support.

* JC drops a kleenex white rose he made on Pau's desk while she is working - he tells her again how much he loves her - they kiss.

* Karen visits her mom Jossie in the psychiatric hospital room. Karen vents to mom about learning truth of Aunt Dolores. Jossie calms her down and advises her how to be careful and not let Dolores get to her - Karen smiles.

* Miriam is talking with someone about Dolores and Jossie.

* Karen and Jossie continue their talk in Jossie's room - Jossie tell her daughter that Gabriel will not be getting close to anyone else but her, she has a plan - they laugh (evil, so evil!).

* Leo meets with Gabriel to give him the discharge orders for Luisito - Gabriel thanks Leo for all he has down for the family.

* Shorty talks with the other taxi drivers, at the stand.

* Pau is talking with Luisito in her brother's hospital room. She explains to him that MA isn't the reason for his parents' separation. Luisito begins to understand. They hug.

* In the hospital waiting area, JC talks with Gabriel - he says he loves Pau so much - they discuss Demian's lies. JC tells Gabriel that his mom supports him and advises him about Pau - Gabriel is also very supportive of the young couple.

* Dolores returns to the house and finds Demian waiting for her in the front hall - she follows him to the study/office where Demian leaves her and Tiberio to talk. Dolores wants to explain herself to Tiberio but Tiberio doesn't want to listen - she asks him if he will ever accept her as his mother - he needs time to process the facts and think, he isn't sure and can't promise anything right now - she accepts and will give him his space - he then asks her who is his father (AY CARAY!).

* Demian visits with Regina in her bedroom = they discuss how grateful Regina is for Demian agreeing to have Dolores be her personal companion and about Dolores visiting with Tiberio. Demian asks Regina to be with him in love - she can't do it and Demian orders her to leave the room.

* In the study/office, Dolores can't answer his question at that moment. Tiberio is frustrated that she won't answer his simple question and leaves. She prays for strength and help.

* Gabriel and Pau bring Luisito home to the condo. They get him settled in bed - Pau says bye, she has to return to work.

* Jossie meets with her psych. doc. in his office for another private session - she is mysterious and calm.

* Demian holds his leg on his lap and thinks of his hatred and his revenge plan for Gabriel.

* Gabriel and Luisito have a heart to heart talk about why he and Jossie are separating. Gabriel also explains to Luisito why Jossie is in the psychiatric hospital right now.

* Pau returns to Luisito's room with a surprise visitor - MA appears at the doorway and asks Luisito if she can enter and visit.

* Demian has a flashback about his first meeting with the lovely and beautiful MA at the palace - he laughs (evil laugh) at the fantasy of making her his new conquest (fantasizes of making out with her in the bathtub). He laughs and mutters to himself that one day the fantasy will come true.

* Luisito lets MA enter his room - they hug and MA says she missed him so much, he says the same to her.

* Belen finds Dolores in the front hall. Belen needs to talk to someone, Dolores is willing to listen to her.

* Independence day in Cuencas - Shorty is dressed up as mexican cowboy (chaparrin with fake cardboard mustache) and is talking to young boy on the street near a street stand selling all sorts of mexican flags. (NOTE: the best and only time to buy mexican flags and whatnot in mexico is during their independence day celebration, sept. 15. how did I learn this? a couple of years ago, I was looking to buy a mexican flag and the consulate staffers in brownsville, texas, told me this factoid.)

* Belen sits and needs a friend to vent her sadness to - Dolores encourages her to talk, she is willing to listen - Belen starts to talk about her depression over a guy - Dolores guesses that the man is Tiberio (she's right!).

* Gabriel, Pau, MA and Luisito are in Luisito's room - before Pau leaves for work, Luisito gives her a message for JC - MA hugs Luisito and is so happy he doesn't hate her anymore.

* Regina stops Dolores in the front hall and encourages Dolores to talk to her about whatever it is that is upsetting her - Dolores is reluctant - Regina continues to convince her to trust her - Regina asks Dolores if she has a son - Dolores reveals yes, he lives in that house, he is Tiberio. (WHOA!) Tiberio is your son? asks Regina - Dolores tries to explain briefly and not cry. Regina and Dolores sit down in the living room and Dolores tells her why she came to the house in the first place - they discuss Tiberio's reaction to the truth.

* Clemente enters the palace office and finds Miriam at the desk drinking. Miriam starts in with her criticism over his feelings towards his bastard daughter MA vs. his feelings and actions towards his "true" daughter, Jossie. She walks over to the bar and pours him a drink - he declines - she tries to insist.

* Padre Anselmo stops by the boutique office while Ingrid is there - he leaves - she is so nervous and scared, she calls Miriam at home to tell her - Miriam can't be bothered at that moment and hangs up - Miriam and Clemente continue their conversation about Jossie.

* Federico is visiting Jossie in her hospital room - she's still upset by his deception scheme - he tries to explain why he did what he did - she forgives him but won't forget. She pours on the tears and tugs on his "fatherhood" heart strings.

* MA and Luisito have a nice talk together - Luisito tells her that his dad explained everything to him.

* At the office, Pau is telling JC how happy she is that her little brother is home again and of MA's return. JC is happy for her and her family. They get close to kiss.

* MA and Luisito are playing in his room - doorbell rings - MA answers it - Regina has stopped by to see Luisito - she introduces herself as his aunt, he looks puzzled, and JC's mom, he's happy again. - doorbell rings and again MA answers it - it's grandma Miriam who is only to happy to spout off about Gabriel's two lovers being in the same place at the same time.

ADVANCE FOR EPISODE 32: Miriam wants to take Luisito - MA impedes her from doing so; Jossie is thinking of the revenge plan of the "fieras" on MA and Gabriel.

Heridas De Amor, Tuesday Nov. 14

In which there is much sniffing, but very little discovering...

Daira shows up at Cesar's door. He says it's not a good time but she insists. She wants Cesar to put her in contact with His Friends who saw the boyfriend hitting Lasagna. Cesar pretends to be impactada, "Don't tell me that wretch did it again?!?" Daira says Lasagna hasn't been home since she lied about meeting her girlfriends for coffee the night before. Luis Antonio eavesdrops, looking suspicious. Cesar says he doesn't have His Friends' numbers, but he'll contact Daira if he sees them again. After she leaves Cesar is flushed and relieved.

Luis Antonio tells Cesar that he knows the date and flight number of Gonzalo's return.

Julio arrives at Mophead's house and sees her histrionics over Faby's kidnapping. (If one wondered why nobody told Julio about Fab's kidnapping, one might recall that these are the same people are are doing nothing about said kidnapping, so it would make sense.) Mophead tells Julio not to report the kidnapping but he says he can't just wait around, he has to do something. He has a friend in the AFI, they should call in the experts to handle this. Finally!

Dohhhh! Bertha arrives to snoop and express her "concern" for Faby. She sees Julio calling the AFI and without anybody seeing sprays him with stupid gas. We don't actually see her do this but it must have happened because seconds later she talks him out of calling the cops. She tells him Cesar talked to the kidnappers and Julio should talk to Cesar before calling anyone. Julio agrees and hangs up.

Trinidad arrives with food for Faby, the hungry rats are chirping like birdies in the background. She gives him a pill for the pain and fever then tells him she spoke to Rebeca the night before. Even though Rebeca cried Trini could not tell her Faby's location because it would endanger her children. Fab sobs and says he's going to have a child, his wife is pregnant, in the hospital and dying. If he doesn't return right away they will both die.

Miranda promises Santiago that she won't let Bertha's machinations come between her and Alejandro. He asks what else is on her mind. After disclosing the most important news, that she and Alejandro are back together, Miranda adds that Fabricio has been kidnapped and Lizania has been missing since yesterday.

At the hospital Juan sees Veronica and tells her to get out. She asks about Flor and says it's her fault that Flor is doing badly. She vows that she had nothing to do with Fab's kidnapping. Juan says he knows, then he notices that she has a big skeleton head on a stick body. He invites her to lunch and she agrees because a piranha's gotta eat.

Miranda talks to Gonzalo on the phone and says she will try to look into the parallel accounts. Then Alejandro calls and she tells him that Daira is worried because Lizania didn't come home last night. She tells Santiago that she needs to try to find out the account passords for Gonzo and Santiago reccomends she visit Fermin for all her banking needs.

Cesar tells Julio that a violent gang has kidnapped Fabricio. If they call the police before the ransom is demanded then they will become even more violent. Julio, still stunned by the stupid gas, agrees. Bertha reassures Mophead and leaves. Cesar follows her to the door and asks when she plans to release Fabricio. He warns her that he wants Fab alive.

Bertha asks Cesar if he's heard any news of Lizania, did Ulises follow their instructions? Yes, SANSON followed them perfectly. After she leaves he thought bubbles "I'm not even going to tell you that Daira already came looking to me; that pleasure I reserve only for myself."

Close up of squeaking rats, and Fab tells Trini that he heard the bad guys say they are going to kill him, it's just a matter of time. She says when the ransom is paid they'll let him go. He tells her he was kidnapped not for money but to teach him a lesson. Trini tch tches that they are bloodthirsty.

Fabricio faints and dreams that he visits Florencia in the hospital. He looks good in blue and without all that blood. He kisses her and tells her he's fine, don't worry, they will be together forever, united for all eternity. They kiss.

Florencia wakes up with a start. Fabricio visited her in an identical dream. She yells to Fernanda that it wasn't a dream, Fab was there to say goodbye to her. They killed him. Fernanda convinces her to calm down and be strong, not only for herself but for the baby.

Outside the room Fernanda weeps to Juan that Florencia and the baby are weak. They need a miracle. Juan reminds her of some advice she once gave him, #1 we are doctors and we swore to save lives and #2 don't lose faith until after death takes us, not before.

Fabricio moans for Flor; Bertha slithers into the hideout. She tries to wake him. Trinidad tells her he's delirious with fever, the guy outside said he wouldn't live much longer. In front of Trinidad Bertha calls El Guapo and reams him big time for putting a bunch of demons in charge of Fabricio. Dumbass, she wanted him alive and conscious of his pain, not delirious. Fabricio in his current condition does her no good, sheesh! She tells estupido that when she returns she'd better find Fab bathed, fed and recuperated. She gives Trini some money to fix Fabricio up. "Pack of asses," she mutters, "this is no way to inflict pain!" She tries once more to wake Fab then leaves in a huff.

Miranda is in Fermin's office. He calls a bank on the Cayman Islands about the accounts. For some reason, because he swore he wouldn't tell anyone, they provide the passwords to the accounts, including the fraudulent parralel ones. When he logs on he tells Miranda that the fraudulent accounts are in the name of...Gonzalo San Llorente.

Santiago is with Daira who has called the hospitals but to no avail. There is still no sign of Lizania. Just then a policeman arrives with Lizania's purse. Daira is impactada and wants to know where it was found. He says they found it in the Tasqueña area. Daira cries that Lizania has no business in this area, what if she was kidnapped? The policeman isn't interested in helping her find her daughter, he just wants them to sign for the purse so he can meet his buds for bunuelos and cafecitos. Daira finally decides to call Alejandro.

Miranda tells Gonzo that the fraudulent accounts are in his name. There is some silly small talk regarding Juan and Renata, then Miranda gives him the account number. He plans to return to Mexico soon, he says everything will be different when he gets back. Fermin then tells Miranda he will help her get a loan.

Fernanda and Juan are having lunch with Veronica the piranhica. Fern asks how her treatment is going, Veronica is steeped in self-pity and says if her parents find out she has HIV they won't want to be near her and will throw her out. Fernanda tries to comfort her and says she wants to help.

Trinidad arrives with meds for Faby. They have the same conversation for the fifth time with the only addition being that Fab wants Trini to visit Florencia in the hospital to tell her that he's OK. Like that won't be the final nail in Flor's coffin. He begs her again to help him escape. She says no, the elegant woman who was there before will surely return soon. Fab realizes it must have been Bertha.

Miranda calls Gabino; she wants to know what the owners of the neighboring haciendas told him. He said they don't want to meet with her. He tried to convince them but they don't have time to take care of the earth so they plan to sell. They don't want to spend the rainy season there. Miranda says that she, too, is worried about losing the second crop.

Another irritating conversation with the whiny Veronica. She's bitter, they try to get her to join an HIV group, be a member of society, yackety yack. Veronica asks Fern if she'll go with her, Fern says absolutely and calls her "hija." Veronica cries and says it's been a long time since anyone called her that.

After Gabino hangs up Arcario asks him why he didn't mention Nati's premonitions of death and destruction to Miranda. Ummm...maybe because telling Miranda the ravings of an addled glassy-eyed mental patient would seem, well, unprofessional?

El Guapo walks round and round in circles laughing and smiling while Bertha scolds him. She calls him stupid and he smells her hair. She's not happy about that lady feeding Faby but Guapo says he's known her for a long time. She asks what happened with the call to Miranda and Alejandro. He says whenever he calls it's busy or he gets voice mail. She says that when he's with Miranda she's going to give him a signal to speak with her. Then she says something about smelling his fear but I didn't understand what she was saying. They talk about smelling fear a lot.

Fabricio is cleaned up when Guapo arrives to torment him some more. Fabricio wants him to take a photo to prove to his family that he is OK. Guapo shows him his reflection in a broken mirror. So maybe the photo isn't a good idea after all. Guapo tell Faby he has a visitor. "Bertha," mutters Fab. She strolls in grinning, "That's right, your dear auntie Bertha."

Oops, I forgot to add the backside of my last page when I posted last night! Here it is:
Daira sobs in Santiago's arms as Miranda arrives. She's talking to Alejandro on the phone and tells him to hurry home. Daira shows Miranda Lizania's purse and says she's sure Lizania went to see her violent boyfriend but she doesn't know who he is.

"Doesn't Cesar know?" asks Santiago. Miranda asks why would he know and Daira tells her the story (as told to her by Cesar). Miranda says she will ask Cesar herself for the information.

Luis Antonio rushes into Cesar's apartment in a tizzy. They are lost. Gonzalo knows all about their roles in the fraudulent account scheme and has proof that Cesar's name is on the deposits. He says they have to leave Mexico and at any moment they are going to be arrested!

La Fea Más Bella #145 11/14/06 Real men wear pink shirts

Okay, for everyone who understands slang. What does "garnacha" mean in the context in which Alicia and Marcia use it when they talk about Lety? To me garnacha is a grape used to make wine. Unless it's insulting to call someone a grape, I totally don't get it.

So who else is happy they went back to the old format with the beginning credits?

PM complains to Saimon. She wants to go out with Lety! They’re not doing anything wild! Saimon doesn’t buy her explanations. He scoots away but immediately return. Saimon thinks that she does not want him now that she has a friend with a nice sports car. PM reassures him that he’s the only one in her heart. He shuffles off, singing all the way! PM takes the elevator to another floor to go see Lety. She enters Lety’s office to tell when they’re leaving. “To where?” Lety asks. PM does not like Lety playing coy. PM wants to know if they can go in Tomas’s car. Lety reassures PM that they can ride in the car. Lety tells PM that she and Tomas have a lot of confidence in their relationship and he givers her a lot of liberty. PM wants to leave Lola and Martha behind while PM and Lety go out. This car can change their life! Lety was thinking more along the lines of drinking coffee. PM leaves the office, the stars of her changed life still in her eyes.

Alicia defends her choice to go out with Tomas. She claims that Tomas kept calling and insisting. Marcia reminds Alicia that he’s Lety’s boyfriend.

Tomas calls Lety to find out when she’s coming home. He’s in the mirror getting ready for his date. Tomas tells Lety that she will be very impressed with his new look. Lety tells him that she’s going out tonight. Oh no! What’s he going to do without the car?

Marcia cannot believe that Alicia wants to go out with one of the cuartel of witches’ boyfriend. She hits the nail on the head and asks Alicia if she’s going out with Tomas because he can fix her financial state. Alicia, of course, protests. Alicia states that she’s only going to go out to eat and flirt a little. Marcia says it will be a scandal. She tells Alicia that she understands, but she does not agree with Alicia’s choice. Alicia does not understand why Marcia is protecting her biggest enemy, Lety. Marcia replies that she does not approve of what Alicia is doing. Alicia changes the subject to what she’s going to look like for her date.

Tomas protests about Lety taking the car. He uses the excuse that Lety does not really know how to drive. Then he says that she will not be able to park the car in his garage because she doesn’t have a key. Lety can tell there is something more to the story. Sure, “I have to be concerned about your well being,” Tomas says. Lety says she’ll be fine and hangs up the phone. Tomas switches to creepy stalker mode and talks to Alicia’s photo. She will not want to go with him in the bus! He’ll think of something!

Marcia asks Sara for Fernando. Sara says he’s not in his office. Alicia enters and says she’s on her way to get ready for today. She asks Marcia for money to pay the taxi driver. Alicia says she hopes this will be the last time she ever has to take a taxi! (Is this a sign she’ll be taking the bus in the morning? One can only hope!) Marcia gives her the money and tells her to be careful.

Fernando walks into the room. Marcia asks how things went with Ricky. He tells her that everything went fine and they were talking about the pay date. Marcia asks him to accompany her to cocktails with Ariel. Denied! She walks way with an extremely sour face.

Omar tells Fernando that since the night is free, Fernando should spend it with Lety. Fernando hushes Omar. The cuartel tries to unsuccessfully listen into the conversation. Fernando talks loudly about Mario Rivera to Omar and the cuartel and enters his office. He walks into Lety’s office and tells her to cancel her plans with the cuartel. Lety reminds him that she does not need him to take her to her house and she’s going out with her friends. He says that he knows she does not need her, but they do need to talk. Lety reminds him of Marcia. He tells her that Marcia is his problem, not Lety’s. Lety asks him what’s bother him. Fernando says that tonight is for them alone and he’s not going to accept any pretext from her. Lety asks him what bothers him the most – the fact that she has his company or that she spends his money. Fernando says he’s not going to talk to her about it at Conceptos. She threatens to return the company and let him talk to Tomas. He calls her bluff and accuses her of breaking promises. He pulls her hand and asks her to come with him. She relents and says she will cancel her plans. He sarcastically agrees and leaves.

Marcia comes into Fernando’s office and says she’s leaving. Fernando lets her know that he’s going out with Lety. Marcia lets Fernando know that Ariel is preoccupied with Lety’s boyfriend and Filmo Imagen. Fernando says that he researched and the company is legal and Tomas is it’s manager. He says that she should tell Ariel there’s no need to be worried. Marcia leans over the desk for a kiss. He plots one right on her cheek. She gets saucy and tells him not to spend a lot of time with Lety and then she leaves.

Fernando goes back to Lety’s office. She wants to go in separate cars. He negates this idea. She says if they’re going in his car she needs to make another phone call. He rolls his eyes and goes back to his office. Omar calls for him. They walk into the boardroom to talk. Lety sneaks after them and listens by standing against the door. Omar is thrilled that Fernando got Lety to go out tonight. Omar tells Fernando that Lety needs to be re-enamored of Fernando. He recommends a restaurant to Fernando that Omar thinks she’ll like. Lety has a different idea. Fernando doesn’t like Omar’s location either. Omar reminds Fernando that not only does he have to be careful about Marcia, he also has to protect his image. Lety overhears this and takes off for her office.

Back at the Padilla house Erasmo enjoys Julieta’s cooking. He has to complain a little. Tomas rings the door bell. Julieta opens the door and he struts into the house. He presents the Padillas with his new image. Erasmo is not impressed. Tomas tells them that Lety is going out with her friends. Julieta cannot believe that Lety did not call them. Erasmo blames the car. Tomas advises them that Lety has the car at Conceptos. Lety calls during the conversation to tell her mom that she’s going to be home late. Julieta warns Lety that Tomas spilled the beans about her going out with her friends in the car. Julieta asks if Lety is going with her friends. Lety tells her that she can’t because she has to take care of some business with Fernando.

The cuartel wait in the lobby for Lety. Irmita wants to go home, but the rest ask her to stay. Meanwhile, Lety reassures her mom that she’s going in Fernando’s car. Tomas takes the phone and says he can come get the car. Lety prefers it stays at Conceptos. Fernando comes into the office to hurry Lety. She asks him for another minute. Tomas says that Erasmo is furious and thinks she’s going out with her friends. Why doesn’t he come for the car? Lety relents but tells him to be very careful with the car. She hangs up and leaves her office. Fernando asks if there was a problem. She tells him that Tomas was worried about the car and he is coming to get it. Lety says that she cannot be out late. Fernando promises to have her back at a reasonable hour. Fernando says he has a great new place to take her. She says she would rather pick the restaurant herself – el Meson de San Diego. He says no, because all of his and Marcia’s friends will be there. She asks him what the problem is since they’re just going to talk. Lety strokes his arm and says she would like to go one of his usual places, not the hidden places where they always go. She grabs his hands and says they can go out next week if it’s a problem and then she pouts. He consents and says they can go to Meson de San Diego.

Julieta asks Tomas why he’s not eating. Tomas assures them that he’s going to have a good dinner in his own house. Erasmo celebrates this miracle. Tomas “models” while Erasmo talks. Erasmo asks Tomas when he’s going to get the car. Tomas says that he’s going to get it now. First, he stops and talks to his photo of Alicia. Tomas takes some money from a drawer and realizes that it is not enough. He takes the checkbook from the drawer. Tomas grabs his coat and leaves, but not before the door runs into his shoulder.

Lety lets the cuartel know that she cannot go out tonight. She has a business meeting with Fernando. Irmita is very thankful that they’re not going out. PM asks Lety what car she’s going to take home. “Fernando’s.” PM freaks and says she can drive Lety’s car! Lety doesn’t even answer. Lety promises they can go out another night. She lets Celso know that Tomas is coming for the car. Fernando rushes Lety out of the room. The cuartel stand around with Saimon and Celso to talk. PM immediately makes new plans with Saimon. Saimon tells PM that they can go out for hot dogs, pizza, hamburgers or even a movie! PM says that she’ll let him chose. They say good-bye and leave the office. The cuartel follow.

Fernando and Lety walk into Meson and are immediately greeted by the host and some friends. They ask him where Marcia is. He says that he came alone. Lety corrects him and says Fernando came with her. She introduces herself to his friends. Fernando runs into some more friends. He hugs them and walks past. Lety introduces herself. Some lady waives hi to Fernando. He tells Lety not to say anything. She shouts her name anyway. (Ummm... is it just me or did Univision edit something out in this part of the episode? I might be wrong and it's in tomorrow's episode but I could have sworn there was more to the non-introductions in the Mexican version!)

Alicia tells her father (on the phone) that she’s going out with a many who can financially help her. She tells him that she needs to get off the phone to finish getting ready, but not for she tells her dad that Tomas is not very handsome.

Tomas passes Celso while pretend talking on his phone. Celso silently follows in the background. Tomas greets Celso and introduces himself. Celso asks Tomas how he can prove that he really is Tomas Mora. Tomas talks a lot and then gives Celso his license. Tomas makes the excuse that the photograph was taken when he was still poor. Tomas gets into the car and asks Celso to shut the trunk. Tomas asks Celso if Alicia has left yet. Celso confirms. They say good-bye. Tomas almost takes out Sanson.

The waiter asks Fernando if his table is okay or if he wants his usual table. Lety asks where the usual table is situated. It’s right in the middle. Lety says they can move. Fernando negates. Lety asks Fernando for his phone. After she leaves Fernando asks for a double whiskey. Senor Flores shows up and pats Fernando on the shoulder. He sits down so that he and Fernando can talk. Fernando wants to know why the vidente keeps pressuring him. Jorge Flores says that he knew that Fernando needed him and that is why he (el vidente) showed up tonight. Nope, don’t need you for anything. “Your heart does,” Jorge replies. Fernando accuses Jorge of complicating his life. Jorge says that Fernando is complicating it all on his own. Jorge says that Fernando is in love with Lety. Fernando replies that the Lety he fell in love with was a different person, loving and kind. He wants that woman back! Jorge asks him if Fernando wants the old Lety for himself or for business reasons. For both. Fernando asks Jorge why Lety has changed so much.

Tomas pulls up to Alicia’s building. He calls and tells her that he’ll wait outside. Tomas enjoys his image in the mirror and then freaks out because he thinks he smells. He finds some baby powder and throws it on. He puts some in his shoes. He doesn’t think it helps because now he has bad breath. He squirts something into his mouth. It might be mouthwash, but I’m not too sure. His cell phone rings. He doesn’t recognize the number. It’s Lety. She asks him where he is. She asks him to come immediately to pick her up. She begs and begs. The whole experience is horrible, Fernando wouldn’t even present her to anyone! He’s acting as though he came alone!

Will Tomas survive his date with Alicia?
Will Fernando finally spit out that he loves Lety to her face?
Was that kiss for real or just another Fea teaser?

Have a great night everyone!

La Fea Más Bella #144 11/13/06

In her lux-mobile Lety flashes back to the psychic, who told her: "Your love is true and honest, but between the two of you stands a woman who can't put on her wedding dress..." She doesn't want to hear more, so tells the cuartel she doesn't want her fortune told again. "Last time, you were told you would change his life and he would change yours, has that happened yet?"

Omar and Fernando are wasting more time, they never work. Fern is complaining, "My life is bitter, some cosmic plan is in motion." He tells the disbelieving Carvahal about the psychic who said Lety's sweetheart would change her and vice versa - he thinks the psychic was referring to Tomas. Omar thinks it's nonsense, but Fern points out that Lety and Tomas used to be nothing - "Oh sure, they have advanced degrees and are specialists etc., but he was a poor devil, and Lety is of a simple family, and now they blow my dough on fancy restaurants and cars."

"She's getting vengeance," says Omar as Fern sweats and twitches, "maybe she read the letter... anyway, sit down, stop walking in circles, if she'd seen the letter she wouldn't be messing with a car..." "She'd strangle me, instead," whispers Fern. "It's Mora, he's such a bad influence on her, that imbecile, it's his fault." Fern doesn't seem to notice he's the pot calling the kettle black.

[I love the way Fern and Omar squabble, like boys who've known each other since they dropped tadpoles down the girls' dresses. Fern despises Omar's attitude, but is strangely dependent on him. Have you noticed how Fern is getting better and better at his squirmy dances of confusion and distress? What a riot!]

Omar continues with the astute observation, "Lety is acting strangely." Fern gives him a disdainful "duh." Omar puts on his "Freud" cap and asks, "Is Lety still in love with you, or has she transferred her love to Mora? Invite her to go out." "I can't, because of Marcia." He admits to Omar he hasn't had sex with Marcia, or with any other woman, since he made love to Lety. "Nada de nada?" "Nada de nada. I live for (1) this business; (2) pleasing Lety; and (3) [pauses to find a word] calming (he uses tranquilizar) Marcia, my life is nothing more." "Hmm, this is complicated, since you're going to marry Marcia, isn't it a problem that you can't boink her?" "I'm feeling so guilty - I'm in a sea of confusion, a sea." Omar asks if Fern is still doling out the Carvahallmarks on a daily basis. Fern says no. He hates the cards, and anyway he's angry at Lety. Omar sagely proverbializes: "He who is angry loses."

Simon is waiting outside for the girls to get back, he's so jealous. They pull up at the same time that Luigi arrives with two of his usual beauties. Celso is very solicitous and adoring of the new car. Luigi is mean and jealous, speechless that Lety's boyfriend could own such a car. Sara gloats, Paula Maria sashays up to Luigi's elegant bimbos and says, "Oh maybe we'll see y'all later in one of those night spots," Simon protests and she whispers, "I'm just trying to improve the cuartel's image." Luigi asks, "Who is this boyfriend who bought this car? I know all the men who could afford this." "No, he's a different kind of guy than the ones you know." "*I* could have this car," Luigi says. I think he finishes by saying it would take only a little push to make the owner, whoever he is, fall in love with him (Luigi).

Inside, there is a pause in all the car-fetish worshipping when Irmita pontificates: "You girls (the cuartel) are making yourselves ridiculous, getting above yourselves. One is poor not by having little, but by desiring a lot. Let's thank God we have work." What a buzzkill.

Alicia tells Marcia the secretaries are still out at lunch, "and since Lety has so much power around here, who knows when she'll be back?" Marcia gives Alicia some money to buy her lunch and bring it back, Alicia protests that she herself is starving and broke, Marcia gives her more money (to buy two lunches), Alicia says "No, let's go out." While they're driving she reveals that Lety took the cuartel to Le Noir. Marcia is stunned and indignant and determined to find out what's going on with all this money, she'll ask her awful brother Ariel about it.

Fern corners Lety and yells at her, "Are you going to keep playing with me?" As he is growing more spastic with dismay Lety is becoming cooler and more steely. "Are you angry that I was out late at lunch, excuse me." After she leaves, he gets out a Carvahallmark and shoves it under her door. She smiles lovingly, picks it up - and chucks it in the trash. Then she fishes it out again, saying, "Just out of curiosity..." He has written, "You're making me sleepless and anguished." She stuffs it back in the trash.

Alone in his own office, waiting for some response, Fern casually and quietly thought-bubbles, "I want Lety, I'm in love with her."

Omar corrals his secretary Sara and grills her about the red bag - he's still thinking Lety must have read his evil letter. Omar makes Sara swear a very holy oath that nobody ever got in his office or saw the bag. She swears, her fingers crossed behind her back, and this pacifies Omar, but then Sara goes to pieces for having lied. She thinks she'll go to hell and cries for the rest of the episode. Lety thanks her for keeping the secret.

Omar and Fern have agreed Fern must re-conquer Lety. Fern tells her, "We have to talk everything over, I'll come to your place tonight." He's astonished when she says no, she's going out with the girls. "It bothers me that your boyfriend bought this car." "Sorry it bothers you so much." "You're driving me crazy!" "Calm yourself." She reminds Fern that Filmo Imagen is a perfectly legal company.

Luigi comes in and reminds Fern there is a huge presentation to Bella-Life happening right now. Fern, besotted over Lety, had completely forgotten. Leaving, he insists to Lety that he will be at her place that night.

Marcia overheard the end of Omar's conversation with Fern (they were both shouting as always, so I'm not surprised). She tells Alicia "Fern's got a date tonight!" She herself has promised her brother Ariel to attend his business cocktail party. "Alicia, will you come with me?" "Sorry, I have a date." Marcia squeezes it out of her: the date is with Lety's boyfriend. Marcia is impactada.

Lola says a judge has told her she can get 1/2 of El Cheque's salary for child support. Time for celebration! There'll be another girls' outing in the fancy car! Simon is jealous again.

The jewelry commercial is well received. Luigi gets up and praises his own commercial, a success due to the "Impeccable Talent of the director, Luigi." The client asks for a small change, Luigi says no, Fern says, "the client pays the bill, he gets what he wants." And on that strangely unimportant note, we close.

HERIDAS DE AMOR - Monday, 11/13/06

Bertha and Cesar are surprised and not a little disappointed by Lizania’s quick death. Cesar and she argue over whose fault it was that she died and what the best thing to do with the body would be. Bertha tries to slink out of helping him with the body, but Cesar prevents her from leaving and tells her that the two of them will take care of this predicament together. He mentions how ironic that first she got rid of the father’s body and now she is getting rid of the daughter’s. Bertha has a green flashback and remembers telling a cute little Mirandita that her evil mommy left and would never come back because she didn’t love her or care about her.

Eventually they wrap Lizania up in a sheet. Bertha suggests that they can dispose of the body somewhere that neither Alejandro nor Daira will find her. (At the same time they’ll protect themselves from being fingered.) Of course, Daira and Alejandro will suffer more because of it. He agrees and calls Sanson to take her body out of the apartment and to dump it.

Fabricio begs Trinidad nonstop to help him get out of there. She finally tells Fabricio that she’ll see what she might be able to do to help him, but she won’t promise anything because it is so dangerous to cross the kidnappers.

Fernanda tries to calm Daira down because she is worried that she hasn’t heard from Lizania and cannot get her to answer her cell. Daira is having some kind of presentiment and feels a pressure in her chest she cannot explain. She goes home to wait for Lizania and to make some phonecalls.

Trinidad does make a call to Rebeca to let her know Fabricio is alive, that she fed him and that he’d asked her to call his family for him. She hangs up before Rebeca can get anymore information out of her. Rebeca’s housekeeper wonders why she doesn’t report this to the police now but Rebeca says she won’t because Cesar doesn’t want to and “He knows how to deal with these things.”

Miranda gets a call from Alejandro about the little black box Daira left for her. They go on about their getting back together while Renata listens at the foot of Miranda’s bed. When Miranda and he hang up Renata tells her that she bets the box holds a diamond bracelet and then she says she figures Juan will never be able to give her a bracelet like that ever. Miranda tells her life holds more value than money alone. If she loves Juan like she says then it shouldn’t matter. Renata is depressed and says she misses her life of luxury, especially every time she comes back to the mansion and is reminded of how everybody lives and then returns to the neighborhood to a little house that seems to close in on her. In the end she shocks Miranda when she confesses that she’s thinking she might just ask Juan for a divorce.

Bertha and Cesar conclude that Lizania suffered from the same ailment as her father and her sister, Florencia. They also conclude then that the chances are good that Alejandro probably suffers from a serious heart condition like the others in his family. They start scheming to kill him by frightening him.

Veronica speaks to Juan outside Florencia’s room about her disease. She says she doesn’t have the money to pay for medicine and wants assistance and he says he’ll see what he can do through an acquaintance in some government health department . Juan advises her to tell her parents about her having AIDS especially because she could infect them if she cut herself and began to bleed badly and they stepped in unprotected, etc. He also suggests she get help from various community organizations to learn more about her problem, etc. She’s ashamed and won’t tell her parents, and she’s not interested in the other because in the end she’s going to die anyway.

Then Veronica goes in to visit Florencia. Florencia is angry and tells her the jig is up so don’t bother with blackmailing her because she knows already that she and Alejandro are brother and sister and why. Veronica gets upset and says she isn’t sorry because she needed the money and would do anything still. That sets Florencia off and she gets it in her head that Veronica then has to be responsible for kidnapping her husband. She begins screaming accusations at Veronica who is taken off guard and keeps screaming back that she doesn’t know what she is talking about. Fernanda and Juan come in and try to calm Florencia down and Juan blames Veronica for getting Florencia so upset. Veronica is so angry she tells them all off and says she doesn’t care that Fabricio has been kidnapped, he deserves to be. “So what?” It doesn’t matter to her because she’s dying. Juan scolds her and says that doesn’t give her the right to destroy other people’s lives. Veronica leaves in disgust.

Sanson apparently has come to take out Lizania’s dead body. Bertha says good-bye and hasn’t it been lovely. We must do this again sometime, but I suppose not, etc., etc. and they both laugh and do a kissy-kissy on their cheeks! Just as she’s opening the door to go out, they see Nuria is standing there in the hallway all doe-eyed and forlorn-looking. They invite her cautiously into the apartment. She mentions some loud strange noise in the elevator as she was coming up the stairs. Cesar invites her in. She acknowledges Bertha but Cesar requires her to hug Bertha and call her "Mother" since "Bertha is your mother." Nuria looks sick at the thought as Bertha plunks her down on the couch and Lizania’s locket falls in between the cushions unnoticed behind her. Cesar eggs Nuria on by asking her if she doesn’t feel great at having Bertha for her mother. Nuria asks her why she never mentioned this to her in all this time, but Bertha changes the subject and says they’ll all three talk tomorrow after they buy Nuria a nice new house for her and the baby, one with a nice garden to play in. Nuria is obviously tired and confused about all of this.

Rebeca does call Miranda to let her know about the phonecall she received from “some woman who has been feeding him” and that she claimed Fabricio was alive. Miranda gets off the phone and mentions this to Renata as Bertha enters the hallway behind them on her way to her room. She overhears their conversation and "innocently" asks them what they’d just heard about Fabricio. (So she of course now knows that the woman broke the rules to call Rebeca for Fabricio.)

Daira anxiously calls around to Renata, Veronica, and Erica since Lizania told Daira she was going to see a friend to say good-bye. None of the girls has seen or heard from her, however. One of them suggests she may have gone to see that guy who she’s been seeing who beats her.

Trinidad calls back a second time that day to give Rebeca more information. She says Fabricio is still alive but badly beaten. She will be going back there again to check on him to make sure they haven’t killed him. Rebeca begs to know where he’s being kept but Trinidad won’t tell Rebeca and hangs up.

Miranda and Renata go to wait with Daira a bit at Daira’s house. In the meantime Lizania’s dead body is seen lying spread-eagle on the sidewalk. People from the neighborhood begin to come and set down lighted votives around it. Somebody throws a small blanket on her head to cover her face. Cesar gets worried and calls Sanson to check if he has followed his directions and dumped the body as he was ordered to do. Sanson is supposed to make him aware of any newspaper articles or bulletins about Lizania that might appear.

After Trinidad hangs up on her, Rebeca immediately starts screaming hysterically to her housekeeper that they cannot kill him, not her son, Dear God, over and over as Julio drops in unexpectedly, unannounced and asks to be told what all the fuss is about and what is happening.

Luis Alberto warns Cesar that now Gonzalo has enough proof of their banking shenanigans in London, but Cesar says it doesn’t matter because he’s gotten rid of the parallel accounts. Then there is a knock at the door. It is Daira asking to speak with Cesar.

Mundo de Fieras: 11/12/06 Joselyn's "Stairway to Heaven" tribute

Ahhhh Where to begin?
Why not start right off with our favorite crazy gal "Joselyn", it seems Frederico has consulted with Dr. Sigmund and Dr. Freud and they are of the opinion, some observation time is required. The beast "Joselyn" goes BSC and is restrained by two young handsome orderlies. She screams traitor & other hate filled phrases at Frederico, who cries at his daughter's distress. Once again proving no good deed goes unpunished.

Next we see Paulina and JC who are continuing the "We can make it work", "No it is impossible" conversation....Please love just shouldn’t be this much work, at least not in the first twenty minutes, yeah sure like three illegitimate kids, a drug problem and a bankruptcy later, maybe...but there is just way too much annoying angst in this relationship. Please just shut-up.

Over in the big house, Dolores is talkin to Demian about Tiberio and how he will not accept her as his Mother. Demian says he'll fix everything in that special way of his. Then he plants a big one on her and she tries to resist, her lips were saying No, No, No, but her eyes were saying Si, Si, Si or maybe that was just my take on it.
It was kinda one of those rough moments full of demented Demian promises to come.

Over in the Naco neighborhood everyone is hanging out at the Pozale Stand...which is probably a pretty good place to eat, if you are ever in the neighborhood and it only costs about $3.00 American. The taxi drivers are hanging out and the robust taxi lady. Oh No here comes Coyote and his side kick. Trouble starts when the two gangstas want beer and the Pozale stand doesn't sell beer. A speeded-up kind of keystone cop scenerio happens; no one gets the least bit hurt, but the bad boys are served up a healthy portion of humble pie. Ooooooppps pay-backs are hell.

When next we see Coyote & side-kick they are doin some plottin, see I told you about payback...Anyway I now dub them the "Turbos" cause that is what is painted in realistic gang graffitti in front of the place where the boys hang.

Leo shows up at the Pozale Palace and he is told of the earlier rumble, oh them's fightin words, he is all shades of territorial, when a lil dweeb taxi-driver realizes his cab has been stolen. Yeah the pay-back part. All the taxi-drivers including the tubster jump in a taxi and take off. This scene was more clowns in a Shriner Circus car than KeyStone Cops. I believe I missed the point of this entire scene or maybe it is just one of those things that doesn't cross cultural boundaries.

Now the "Turbos" are standin in front of their namesake and holding a huge roll of cash....okay guess they stole the taxi and took it to "Pedro's Quikie Chop Shop".
Well now they can buy some cerveza & other pleasures.

Miriam is at her shop lamenting to Ingrid (who I just gotta say, I am glad once again to see she is still alive...cause this is NO SPOILER...but I am betting two to one she gets whacked, she knows too much, except she doesn't know enough to get a better job with more benefits than running people down and getting smacked...she could work for Demian and probably get health insurance along with getting smacked), Miriam is yammering on and on about Joselyn being committed and Frederico...Yadda Yadda Yadda...like it matters now, I think the intervention twenty years ago would have been a better idea, but hey that's just me.

Demian confronts Tiberto once again about playing nice with Tiberto's Ma, Delores. Tiberto tries to protest, but Demian pimp slaps him like he is a working girl in Demian's stable. I feel bad for Tiberto, he's a grown ass man, and this one eyed crippled-guy is slappin him around with this it's for your own good smacks. Man remember how bad you hated that when you were a kid, well I imagine it is way worse when you’re like forty.

Poor Tiberto, he goes into the kitchen for some coffee. Simona is in there grillin Belen for like the past half hour, with this "What is wrong, you can tell me", yeah like she really wants to know, Belen has been knocking boots with Tiberto..TMI TMI

While Simona is getting the coffee, Tiberto wants to talk to Belen, I guess he thought maybe he'd relieve a little tension, but Belen is all, "you were kissing Karen", so Tiberto stomps upstairs like Frankenstein with a "Bueno Noches", Simona comes back in with the coffee asks Belen where Tiberto is and Belen gives her mother a curt "Bueno Noches"....Simona looks first in the direction Tiberto went, then looks after her daughter, I believe I saw the slight flicker of a light bulb going on in her thought bubble.

Demian is now tellin Delores that all is okay with her hijo. Regina comes in and for a second it is like awkward...Delores and Demian were a little too close but Demian covers and tells his beloved wife that he is almost fully recovered and he would like to keep Delores on as a companion for Regina. Regina just thinks this is a jolly idea. *****Demian Dude, I'm here to tell you, get the threesome idea outta your head, it ain't gonna happen*****

Later when Delores and Demian are alone, he tells her that it wasn't just for his wife, it was for him too. Delores protests that Regina is a swell gal and that is disrespectful, but alas Demian laments that Regina doesn't love him. Oh damn you Demian, now you made me feel sorry for you again, okay you have my blessing to revisit the Delores Days of your youth.

Joselyn awakens in her room at Buena Vista, everything is blurred and kinda out of focus, she is set on breaking out. I don't know if the out of focus is due to her psychosis or if she was medicated, if it was the medication, I say up that dosage to two animal tranquilizers.

Karen is having dinner or snacks or maybe just naughty talk with Rog and fills him in on his sister Paulina having the red hots for Paulina's cousin, JC. Karen don't throw stones cause you been playin nasty school girl with your cuz, Tiberto....

Paulina and JC approaching a table at the hospital carrying two glasses of Kool-
Aide, when JC gets bumped and some spills on Paulina's arm...this leads to him wiping off her arm, kissing and hugging. Oh NO!!!!! the dreaded romantic music signaling the flashback of the happiest 90 seconds (45 each) of their lives. Flashbacks of Spain, making heart shapes with their hands. Excuse me while I vomit.

Meanwhile back at the Crazy Hospital, Joselyn has made it out of her room and climbed like ninety flights of steps...okay really like five...
I just gotta throw this thought out there, what in the hell kind of hospital is this?
I'm no architect, but it seems to me keeping crazies out of harms way, should be job one...no steps to jump from, no big glass windows, locks on the doors, you know, the basics. Doctors and Clemente & Frederico and making up the cast watching Joselyn's big moment, "Mr. Deville, I am ready for my close up.", Joselyn will end it all cause first all her problems are everyone else's fault and Gabe is divorcing her. Frederico yells "Hold that thought" & speed dials Gabe on the ole cell phone.

Back at the other hospital, Paulina & JC are making out in the cafeteria, for the love of everything that is holy, people are trying to eat, "Get a Room", Gabe is watching, yeah I know, the two hornmiesters separate when they hear Gabe answer his phone. Yuck they are like wiping serious saliva off their faces.

Gabe tell them he has to go take care of suicidal Joselyn, but they should go see Lui, that is if they can quit making out for a minute.

Back in Nacoville, Leo is talking to his Mother who is ironing and then he kinda dances with her & gives her lots of hugs and kisses and tells her how great she is and how much he loves her etc..., etc...., etc...., it would almost be endearing if this was the Hallmark Hall of Fame, but it's not nuff said. Leo's slutty sister is currently mounted on the back of Coyotes bike, in her "PussyCat Dolls" outfit and kissing all over Coyote, while a taxi driver (I don't know his name, but the semi good looking one, looks on sadly)...You gotta say this for Elsa, every lil neighborhood has a prima slut and Elsa has proudly taken the trophy, Go Elsa.

Gabe arrives at the hospital everyone is standing below, begging Joselyn not to end it all, it is quite the circus. Joselyn keeps leaning over the railing (which is only waist high....more excellent security), and the growing cast of on-lookers bends forward in turn like should she jump, they could catch her...Nope defies the Laws of Physics, objects in motion. At this point I want people to start yelling JUMP, JUMP...Miriam and Karen now arrive upping the case to thousands. In her best Evita like speech Joselyn is threatening to end her life. Gabe makes it up the steps grabs her and the director....for a brief period taunts us into thinking Joselyn will go over taking Gabe with her, but no everyone is safe. Joselyn looking rather exhausted wants to go home, but Gabe puts the stops to that idea.

Paulina and JC are taking to that kid at the hospital, Lui, who has bright red abrasions all over his lil round cherub face, he is as perky as evah, Lui teases JC about his newspaper declaration of love for Paulina. It was gag-worthy, what a lil trooper. When Paulina mentions MA, Lui says he doesn't want to see her.

Meanwhile, MA is getting her house blessed by the local Padre, she is telling the Padre about Lui and missing him. Oh Please get a hobby.

Gabe arrives back at Lui's hospital,******I have been to Mexico City & driven around, I have no idea how these people get from one spot to the next so quickly, maybe there are special rich folk roads, I am unaware of, cause the Mexico City I know is bumper to bumper to bumper.******
He talks to Paulina about the earlier make-out scene in the cafeteria, she says that she loves JC, but because of family problems it can never work.
Gabe retorts, "Don't worry everything will be just great, these family problems are no real problem."
I swear this guy's head is so far up, that he never sees the light of day.

Lui is telling JC how he doesn't like MA anymore cause she made his Papi, leave his Mami...

Elsa the Slut arrives back at Casa de Charming drunk and shooting off her mouth, about Leo not really being Candlewhatever's real son. After she stumbles off somewhere to probably vomit and pass out, more touchy feely bonding goes on between Leo and Mami....this is the daughter, she always wanted. Leo is only an X chromosome away from being the bestest daughter evah.

Back at Loco Acres, Joselyn is all curled up with her head on her Miriam's lap. Miriam is worried about her and her attempted suicide. "It's okay Mami, I wasn't really gonna do it, I only did it for the attention." Ahhhhhh Miriam smiles and strokes her lil girl's hair.
*********And on that closing Note we hear Purring...like from big cats************

Does Joselyn need a Cat Whisperer?
Will Paulina and JC be able to find an empty supply cabinet?
Can Demien keep his growing Harem happy?

He tells her he knows that now and wants to put the pieces of the puzzle together. He tells her of the last letter his father received. She tells him she wants to drink something and he tells her he'll get it. She stops him and asks him if his bruise hurts and he tells her not as much as her coldness towards him saying the wounds of the body heal easily but not the ones in his soul. She touches his face and he starts tokiss her, in the heat of passion she pulls awayand goes to the window and closes the curtain, she grabs Alejandro and they kiss and make love on the floor of the study.

They plan to keep putting the puzzle together when Daira calls. He tells her that he and Miranda are talking things out(is about time) he kises her and tells Daira that he will call her later becase right now he is busy.

Berta arrives. She sees clothes scattered all over the room, and asks, what is going on here? as she throws Miranda's shirt on Ale's face (loved that scene)Miranda with a big smile on her face tells her, do you want me to tell you every detail of what happenned or do you want to use your imagination? She tells Miranda that Alejandro is using her to freeze his fortune, that all he wants is to have a child, she can't have any of his money. She's surprised when he tells her his fortune is already frozen.Miranda surprises Berta telling her she knows about the clause and that she signed a pre-nuptial agreement. She tells him to beat Fabricio but not to kill him. Florencia worries about her husband as Fernanda tells Juan that he should stay with his wife and has her permission to enter her house. Miranda tells Renata that she and Alejandro haven't reconciled just yet saying they need to talk but she's happy they are together. Renata tells Miranda not to be so harsh on Berta as she says that despite finding something negative, an argument supports the positive part. Berta asks Lucas what Cesar has planned. Renata arrives and Berta humiliates her and puts her down by insulting Juan. Daira brings a gift to Miranda from Alejandro. They talk about Rebeca and Liazania. Berta tries to manipulate Renata and makes her feel inferior. Fabricio meets Trinidad, a lady paid to take food to him. Berta arrves at Cesar's. They talk about Lizania when the doorbell rings. Lizania tells Cesar she came to say goodbye. She tells him she's leaving Mexico and that Alejandro is already in Italy. When Berta asks her why he's there she tries to run off but Cesar grabs her. Fabricio begs Trinidad to help him. Berta smothers Lizania with a pillow as Cesar tries to hit her. She cries and struggles to tell him not to hit her when she drops her necklace and falls into the couch holding her chest. Cesar tells Berta that Lizania is dead.

Mundo de Fieras - Friday 11/10/06

Juan Cristobal joins Paulina under her umbrella and swears in front of her and Karen that Paulina and only she is his one true love. He has never had any interest in Karen. Karen answers back that JC totally enjoyed their times together, especially when kissing her. JC contradicts her and says “You kissed me!” Karen reminds them they’re still 1st cousins and so nothing can come of it anyway. Pau tells her it’s their business and not to meddle. In the end Karen, the scheming little slut, wins by putting the seeds of doubt into Paulina’s mind and warning her off a man as untrustworthy as JC. “He’ll only make you suffer, Paulina.”

Clemente shocks Gabe when he admits that Mariangela is the lovechild from his affair with Aurora. Clemente says he intends to protect her as he’d promised Aurora he would.

Paulina tells JC that Karen reminded her of certain things (it’s apparent she can’t forgive or forget, or even give poor, soaked JC the benefit of the doubt!), so it’s best if he would just leave. Pau, though, is worried that he’ll get sick with all this foolishness (but not worried enough to listen). JC is in love and just as stubborn as Pau. He refuses to budge until she listens. He’s ready to remain there in the rain as long as it takes. She gets frustrated and goes back upstairs to her father’s apartment but still watches him from the window. A couple minutes later Gabe drives up and gets out of his car as the rain starts to let up a bit. He asks Juan Cristobal why he’s out in the rain in the middle of the street (like a dummy). JC explains he’s doing what Gabe said was necessary: convincing Pau of his sincerity. Gabe chuckles a bit and tells him to go home and he’ll work on Paulina to get those barriers between them to fall. Tomorrow morning will be better to resolve things. (How about just unselfishly telling Pau the truth, that she’s your adopted daughter and finally you can stop this ridiculous farce? What a dad!)

Upstairs Gabe tries to get his daughter to express her true feelings about Juan but she tells him she cannot get back together with Juan. She loves him still, quite a bit, but she is certain that it just isn’t possible. He accepts this answer and doesn’t stick up for JC’s side of things at all. (Thanks for nothing, Gabe!)

Mariangela is now living in the rebuilt house of her mother’s. Gabe, I think, rebuilt it for her. She prays to the Virgencita and says it’s best she puts distance between her and him, but she is not going to stay away from Little Lui who needs her and loves her as she loves him.

Leo is looking out his window at the rain that same night and tells Candy that his only thoughts are for Mariangela. He wants only to protect her and to love her. Candy reminds him not to hold out false hopes since Mariangela has been straight with him from the beginning about her feelings towards him. She mentions then that Elsa should be as good a child as Leo, but she cannot sleep at night never knowing where Elsa is and waiting up for her because she hasn’t come home. (Is this the first time that Leo has heard this?)

That night Elsa is with El Coyote who has showered bills of cash all over his bed. She literally rolls in it and he gets his bought and paid for bit of fun.

Karen drives off and starts crying. She swears vengeance because of the rage JC has caused by rejecting her. Well, she ends up somehow at a snazzy bar with Tiberio. She asks Ti what his plans are for his future. He says he’s interested in becoming independent of his father’s business and doing something on his own. Karen (like mother and grandmother) tells him if he makes her a business partner, she’ll be able to help him quite a bit (wink, wink). Tiberio laughs and paws her thighs and she laughs with him and continues to let him paw her thighs.

JC gets home late. Regina has been worried as heck. He walks in and she asks where he’s been. He explains why he’s all wet (you can say that again.....) and she just hugs him for “doing what you said to do, Mom,” and trying to convince Paulina of his love.

Jos comes into Miriam’s office and tells her how she brought Little Lui to Aurora’s funeral for just a bit to make sure that she was still La Sra. Cervantes Bravo and not Mariangela. Miriam says that was a good idea. So Jos tells her that she told Lui that “that woman” was the reason his father abandoned her. Miriam suggests she was skillful and that she should continue to take every advantage to poison him against his father.

Back at Demian’s, Dolores is angry and the two of them are fighting over why she had to tell Tiberio that she was his mother. She complains that she had no choice since thanks to Demian, her son attacked her thinking she was after him “as a man” and was sexually attracted. She reminds Demian that she’ll fight and do whatever is necessary provided her son comes to accept her. Demian wishes her good luck and lots of strength since she’ll need it, because the kid just isn’t happy with her at all. She says the least Demian can do is to support her in this, otherwise she’ll be forced to tell Ti the whole truth about daddy, too. Demian agrees then to support her and to attemp to get Ti to see reason, even eventually to admit he’s Tiberio’s father -- “when the time is right” of course. Dumb Dolores believes him.

Gabe and Little Lui are eating breakfast and Gabe tells him how much it meant to Mariangela that he came to her mother’s wake the other night, particularly since she was now all alone in the world. Lui surprises him when he unexpectedly answers that, “Mariangela doesn't interest me.”

Leo pays a visit to Mariangela. He tells her he is so anxious for her that he woke up in the wee hours and just had to see her. She thanks him and says she likes the solitude right now. He asks her if she might be able to love him half as much as he loves her but she says she wishes she could order her heart, but things don’t work like that. He still wants permission to come by and take care of things for her. He starts by offering to take her to the city to look for work and she accepts.

Meanwhile, Tiberio is screaming at Demian, “How could you have kept quiet for so many years? Why didn’t you tell me?” Demian answers that some things are not easy to explain, so “Why don’t we just agree to leave things as they are for now?” Tiberio refuses. He demands to know everything because it is his right to know but Demian says no. He also starts to twist the truth to his advantage, and says his mother left him without a care. She never once cared to look after him, but he’ll have to accept this and be nice to Dolores. Ti adamantly refuses but Demian says he will do it because he is ordering him. He explains to Ti that there are times when you give in and there are times when you only pretend to give in. This is a time when he only has to pretend to be happy she’s come back into his life. This way he’ll keep her from bothering him. Ti thinks it over.

At work, Paulina notices how sick JC is and worries. She tells him that he needs to go see a doctor. He refuses till she gives him a kiss and finally she gives in. Afterward she goes to get her car and he gets up off his chair. He’s been sitting on a heating pad the whole time. He burns himself while putting it away and gripes to himself that he took way too long to convince her. (Cute one, JC! Smart and even a bit original, too!)

Jos, the psyco-mom, has given her son a fish tank full of little fishies and she shows Little Lui, who is in the living room and otherwise alone, how to bang hard on the sides to make the fish come around. While he has his back turned looking for something, Psycho-Mom scratches something against the side of the tank which cuts deeply into the glass. Once she leaves, Lui continues to bang on the glass until the sides of the tank burst open and water, full of shards of glass, explodes in his face, knocking him on the floor. He starts screaming for the maid to come and help him. (I kept wondering if Mexico has a PITA, and what they must think, seeing all the little gasping, tail-flipping fishies dying on the floor above Lui's head while this scene was being taped.......)

The maid calls Gabe to let him know what just happened. He and the ambulance arrive just as JC and Paulina get to the hospital to see Leo about JC’s fever. Everyone goes into panic mode of course when they see Lui being wheeled in unconscious with bloody cuts all over his face. Jos, on the other hand, is drinking a toast to herself and her ingeniously successful scheme. (She is practically orgasmic over it!)

Frederico and Jos’s shrink are discussing the seriousness of her emotional and mental problems. Frederico says he’s not be able to do anything so far because Miriam refuses to have her put away or to let anybody interfere. The psychiatrist says his professional oath stops him from giving any details, just as with a priest, but her mental state is so delicate that she is dangerous. She probably should be interned he says, because they don’t want her to hurt somebody. (Brother, you're a day late and a dollar short.)

Ti defies Demian’s orders regarding Dolores despite Demian slapping the snot out of him and warning him never to challenge him again. Ti says he’d intended to follow orders, but his contempt towards her is just too great. He walks out and leaves Demian yelling at him to come back.

Mariangela returns to the neighborhood and one of the couples who own a small restaurant offers her a job. When she calls Gabe’s mansion to say hello to Candy they all find out about Little Lui’s accident. She runs off to the hospital to be at his bedside. (Although, I am fascinated to think how silly she would look if she could actually run in those stodgy 4" high platformed espadrilles she's always wearing......)

Jos comes into the reception area and starts crying and screaming, “Where is my son? Where is my son! I want to see my son!” and playing the role of the aggrieved mother. As soon as she sees Gabe she accuses him of not only killing her other child, but now almost killing this one as well. Leo comes in and tries to calm her down saying nothing can be resolved by yelling. She yells across the room that it all Gabe’s fault, taking her little son away from her and out of the house to live with him; he was so careless with him. “Nobody knows how to care for him like a mother!” “Nobody understands me!” She continues to rant the chant over and over and over and over. (Puh-leese!! Enough already!!My ears....where's my mute button......) Gabe just watches. He doesn’t say a word. I guess he’s falling for the guilt number still.

Miriam and Ingrid are discussing Clemente’s faults and his big fortune. Miriam says they wouldn’t have a single cent had it not been for her managing the family’s money. Clemente may not drink anymore, but he can’t be trusted with it. (Hey, if he doesn't die from a drowned liver then in a bit he will from rotted, charred lungs. So what's the rush?) She tells Ingrid she’s fixed it so he will not be able to have use of it. Ingrid says he could end up on the street and Miriam agrees, and the little wheels start turning. She answers something like “That’s right, he could end up on the street.”

Mariangela arrives at the hospital and they hug with Jos taking it all in. Mariangela tries to speak with Lui but he rejects her while pointedly acting excited to see everyone else who is at his bedside. Mariangela leaves then, heartbroken, particularly after Jos and he put on a big act about Jos’s worrying and great love for him. (Gagging here!! I am so gagging at this.) Gabe continues to stay quiet, just taking it all in. (He has got to know this is all a show by now, though. Doesn't he?)

Frederico goes to Miriam and threatens her that either she interns Jos in a sanatorium or he’ll make good on his right as her real father to do it himself. (Good for you, Freddie-boy!) It won’t matter who knows at that point that he’s her real father provided that it helps her get well. (You go, guy! You go!)

Clemente tells Mariangela’s priest that he plans to care for her now as promised. The priest advises him to clarify things with his two daughters.

Leo is about to give JC a shot for his virus, but JC manages to explain the ruse he used to get Paulina’s attention. Leo laughs. JC then asks about his love life and Leo tells him how he feels about Mariangela and how God’s designs have made a disaster of it for him.

Miriam hands over a signed document to Frederico and tells him, “Now you’ve gotten what you wanted, so get out!” He takes it and leaves.

Jos watches Mariangela walking out of the hospital and thinks, “I told you you’d cry tears of blood.” Just then Frederico calls her on her cell and tells her it’s urgent she meet him at the psychiatrist’s office.

Miriam informs Clemente afterward about Frederico’s intentions with Jos to get her professional help. She asks Clemente why he’s so surprised since he’s told her for a long time that Jos needs to be put in a psychiatric hospital to get treatment. “As it is,” she nags, “Frederico actually did something about it. He is more of a father to my daughter than you!” Clemente defends himself saying he loves both equally. Miriam just sneers.

Frederico rushes Jos into the doctor’s office. She sees the two doctors and asks her doctor why she was brought there. Frederico says he is only doing what is best for her. The shrink tells her that she’s there because she should be interned to receive treatment. She renounces Frederico’s friendship, screams, and spits out “Betrayer” at him repeatedly. Then she tries to leave but he grabs onto her and stops her. She curses at him and breaks free but when she opens the door to the outer hallway, two big male nurses are there to grab her. They drag her back into the office while she continues to scream and curse.

La Fea Más Bella #143 11/10/06 Studies in Passive-Aggressive Behavior

Ariel politely bids Lety adieu and smartly remarks "hey Fernando, did you know that Lety's boyfriend - LETY'S boyfriend - has a better car than yours?" "It's better than yours, too," Fern replies. Lety doubles over silently with laughter!

Lety excuses herself for lunch before Fern has a chance to interrogate her. Alone, he recalls the psychic's warning about his love, his business, and the truth, but he vows not to give Ariel the pleasure.

In the executive lobby, Lety and the cuartel discuss their lunch plans and mention that Lola won't be joining them because of her meeting with the lawyer. (I guess she has to skip lunch to make up the missed time, or something.) Alicia makes some cracks about Lety's "station wagon." Then Martha shows up and tells them about her air-eating illness; Alicia makes a snooty remark about the "strange ailments of the poor." Sara makes fun of Alicia dying of hunger at her desk while they have a nice meal.

Time to split up the stories!

Ariel and Marcia

Ariel calls Marcia and invites her to lunch. She has too much work, but agrees to meet with him in her office. "How strange," she says to herself. I guess he doesn't come around too often.

He visits and makes small talk, asking vaguely about Germany and Conceptos. (He keeps peering out the window.) Marcia rolls her eyes and asks if there was something specific he wants to know.

He says he asked Lety about her brand-new boyfriend, but she was evasive. Gee, Ariel, why do you suppose it is that Lety doesn't care to chat with you like a girlfriend?? Marcia tells him that his name is Tomas Mora, and that's all she knows about it. He admits that she did tell him that much too, but wouldn't tell him where he worked. She was very reticent.

Marcia tries to remember the name of Tomas's company. She says Alicia would know, and gets up to ask her, but he says no, not like that, it's too important. He wants to know all about him, but evidently from past experience he doesn't think Alicia is the most reliable way to get useful information. :-)

Marcia assures him that Fern has already checked him out. Ariel wants to know what "el" is like. Marcia says, the boyfriend, or the car, and giggles, but Ariel is not in a joking mood. She answers, well, what would a boyfriend of Lety's be like? He scoffs. "Like a house of horrors." She says he's a Mr. Nobody with some money; nouveau-riche; a nerd, like Lety, who works at some place that pays well. She adds that Fern always defends Lety, but pays her really poorly.

Ariel says they need to stay on the lookout, check this guy out and find out where he gets his money. Fern gives Lety so much responsibility that she's practically running "our" business. She agrees and asks if that's why he came over here.

He says no, he came over to invite her to a cocktail party. He's entering into negotiations with some entity or other and tonight's cocktail is for getting acquainted. I think he says his date cancelled on him at the last minute. (I'm guessing she killed herself. Or he killed her. I still want him to be a crazed murderer so he can go to jail.)

No, upon replaying the scene it appears that some investors backed out at the last minute, so now he needs to raise more capital. She says really? But haven't you already invested all of your money? He says yes, but it's not enough. He's going to tell her the truth now so she won't be surprised later: At the Big Meeting, he's going to cash in his share of Conceptos. She squints with surprise, and he grinds his teeth in self-satisfaction.

She tells him he can't do that, that their parents would never have wanted them to split up Conceptos. He says his decision will depend on the financial condition of Conceptos at the Big Meeting. He'll stick with Conceptos if it's solid, as Fern claims.

On his way out, he catches Alicia yawning at her desk. When she sees him, she hurriedly gets up and starts exercising, I guess hoping he'll offer her some money or something. I really like her outfit today; I wonder what the bottom part of it looks like since she obviously forgot to put it on.

Ariel taunts her about yawning from hunger. He suggests that she should eat every day. He says he doesn't know if she is going to eat, but the food for sure. (I realize this makes no sense; I can't figure out exactly what he's saying, but I can only assume that it's extremely rude.)

She says "I'm going to eat at Le Noir, but first I am finishing my exercise routine." He asks if someone invited her, because it's too expensive for her.

(Le Noir is the most expensive restaurant in town - we found that out several months ago when the chick who "borrowed" Tomas's phone tried to get him to take her there for dinner.)

He gets on the elevator, and she mutters, "I AM going to Le Noir. You'll see, you wretch!"

Only For Women, part II

Saimon wants to whisk PM away for lunch, but she says she has plans and they're "solo para mujeres." Saimon whines... and cries... and begs... eventually Lety rescues PM and they all pile into her car - PM rides shotgun, while Sara, Irma, Martha, and Juana all sit on top of - I don't know what you call this - when you sit on top of the seat backs in a convertible so that it's really super-easy to topple out of the car when it's moving.

Fern and Omar come out just as they are leaving. Fern and Lety exchange murderous glances. Lety nervously puts on her seatbelt and backs out of her parking space.

With the very first jolt of the gas and brake, I fear for Juana's life, since she's just hanging on by a butt-cheek. It'd be a lot safer if just the two in the middle sat up top and then Juana and Sara could sit in the seat and, like, hold their legs to keep them from flying out, but I suppose it's harder to keep everyone in frame that way.

They are very rowdy as Lety navigates the streets of Mexico City. They want to listen to the radio, but they're not happy with the music that it plays. She admits she's not good at operating the radio yet. Martha says she's not so good at operating the car, either! She's driving just like her father - slow and not always in a straight line. It gets worse when she tries to fiddle with the radio - they all hang on for dear life (but still no one actually tries sitting in the seats).

Just as they recover from that, they nearly get into a wreck. Lety slams on the brakes. Instead of totally freaking out like I would, Lety just says "see what great reflexes I have?" and continues driving. She adds "and it's a good thing, because I'm still learning the difference between the gas pedal and the brake!"

(Martha complains that she feels queasy. How much do you want to bet she'll recover when her lunch arrives?)

Then they are passed by Omar and Fern. PM screams "Hi, Mr. Hot-Guy!" ("Licenciado Papacito" - not sure which of them that's addressed to.) Irma is scandalized by this. That's no way to talk to your bosses - what will they think? PM says they'll think they're happy, which they are. Lety agrees. They're away from Conceptos now - that stuff doesn't matter.

Irma worries about being late for Luigi. PM flirts with three men in a neighboring car. Irma disapproves of this, saying that it's disrespectful to Saimon. Lety cheekily replies that even if PM's on a diet, she can still look at the menu! PM wants to invite these guys to hang out with them, but says she doesn't want to get Lety in trouble with Tomas. Lety says don't worry about that. She grins foolishly, enjoying the mens' admiring glances! Just then, the traffic light changes, and they wave goodbye.

They get to the restaurant. Martha immediately asks if they have quesadillas. The plate captain is looking around the room, obviously wondering where he is going to seat this unlikely gang. Or if he even should. He tells them they need to wait a moment for a table.

Then they see Fern and Omar having their business lunch. Irma is spooked and wants to leave immediately, but Lety and Juana convince her to stay. Fernando approaches and wants to know if this was the reason she so urgently needed to leave the office rather than talk to him.

PM explains that Lety invited them to dine with her. He nods stupidly at this. Martha adds that Tomas will be paying for their lunch. Seeing that they know Fern and have the means to pay, the plate captain agrees to seat them. Juana thanks him effusively for his kindness.

Fern pulls Lety aside rather roughly and wants her to sit at his table, or at least come by and say hello, but she coolly refuses. She's busy, and it's her lunch hour. He asks what game is she playing. She denies any game. He points out that he had reservations here and then she just happened to show up with the entire cuartel. She claims (LIAR!!) that it was the cuartel's idea to eat at this restaurant.

Lety approaches the cuartel, who are now seated, and begins to say, "Don Fernando-" when Fern angrily interrupts and says he already knows that her boyfriend is paying for everything. Lety smiles angelically and starts again to say that Fern wants them to leave. They all start to get up, but he says no, it doesn't bother him at all that they're there. She says "don't worry, Don Fernando... FI is going to pay for it!" Just to make sure he knows. :-) He coughs violently (choking on bile, no doubt) and says he knows that. She asks, then why do you seem so upset? He denies this, and in return, he tells them that Lety's going to come to his table and say hi to their client.

She goes to Fern's table, says hi to the client, and then - both to be polite to the client and annoy Fern - she plops herself onto a chair. Omar asks "what with this massive presence," referring to the cuartel, and she gives a non-answer, saying we're going out to eat. Fern offers her something to drink, and she says no thank you. She gets up, says goodbye to the client and shakes his hand, and rejoins the cuartel. Omar and Fern still have their hands in midair, surprised that she didn't shake theirs too, so they awkwardly shake hands with each other!

The women are intimidated by the prices on the menu, but Lety tells them to get whatever they want, with no limit. They don't understand the menu, which is entirely in French. (Naturally, PM says she just wants whatever is the most expensive thing; Irma chides her for taking advantage.) They ask Lety to translate it for them, but Lety (who knows French, but perhaps not French food) airily says that would take too long, so she's just going to order lobster all around, if that's okay with them.

They're amazed. Some of them have never had lobster before. PM again loudly says that Tomas is paying for all of this. (From the other table, Fern glares intensely at Lety's back. No one seems to notice.)

The waiter wants to know how they want their lobster, and since Lety doesn't know one way from another, she covers her ignorance by telling him to surprise them. She encourages them to pick out appetizers too, and they are overwhelmed by the extravagance. (She turns around to shoot a scornful glance at Fern.)

Martha lists some items that sound like the entire Taco Bell menu, and Juana reminds her of her stomachache and her air-gobbling. ;-) Irma adds that this restaurant probably doesn't carry such things. Martha acts indigant, like she wants to leave.

Lety asks the waiter what he recommends. (Fern is making all kinds of faces in the background.) The subject of caviar comes up. Sara says she definitely wants caviar, but very well fried please! PM says don't be a dummy - you don't fry caviar, you parboil it! She claims she had it once when she went out with an executive. Lety tells the waiter to bring some caviar, and some crab, and whatever else looks good. (Fern covers his face with his hands. No one seems to notice.)

The waiter suggests langostinos. Right - langostinos are a great first course for lobster! Lety eagerly agrees. Unfortunately, Fern is out of frame at this moment; I suppose poor Jaime Camil was at a loss as to what sort of face to make at such ignorance!

The waiter asks if they would like some white wine? PM wants something stronger. Lety orders champagne. They are aghast. (Fern gapes. No one seems to notice.) PM is ecstatic over how awesome Lety's boyfriend is. Irmita gets spooked again and wants to leave, but they convince her to stay. The waiter asks what kind of champagne, and Lety says "the most expensive." (Note that she doesn't say "your best.")

Martha is happier now, but still grumbling because they don't have chalupas.

They eat and critique the strange foods. I think Martha says that the caviar tastes weird and the lobster's skin is too dark.

And now for the stunner: Lety overhears that Fern's credit card has been refused! Lety offers to pay their bill. The client is flabbergasted; Fern is mortified, but not in a position to refuse (although a save from Omar would have been nice). She grins smugly as she returns to her table... then snaps out of her daydream. Aw, damn - that would have been awesome! She recovers and says she was just thinking about Tomas.

Lety calls for the bill. Fern stops by their table to say goodbye and asks if they ate well. Martha indicates mild disapproval. (You're welcome, Martha! Jeez!) PM offers him some champagne and reminds him that Lety's boyfriend is paying for it! He unhappily toasts with them, then leaves.

PM says that Fern seemed angry with them. Irma thinks it's because of their scandalous behavior. Lety says no, that's his normal behavior. He's envious. Rich people can't stand it when poor people have money.

The bill comes and they all gasp, but she tells them not to worry and gives the waiter a 20% tip. The smile on his face is worth all the ugly faces Fern and Lety have made this hour - this guy will be able to retire young and buy a Pacific island with what Lety's given him.

In the car, Juana offers to read caracoles for her. According to my dictionary, those are conches, but those aren't particularly legible. Whatever it is, it has something to do with fortune-telling. Lety remembers the psychic's prediction. He says her feeling is true and pure, but a woman is crying in front of her wedding dress and can't put it on. The last thing she wants is another cryptic reading, so she says no thank you Juana. :-) She says maybe some other time, some evening. PM thinks this is a great idea - they can have a party.

Martha says the last time Juana read the caracoles, she said that Lety's boyfriend would change her life. Lety ominously declares that it had better be changing.

Fern and Omar

Fern goes running to Omar to babble about Ariel. He was interrogating Lety about the ledger, the Big Meeting, and she assured Ariel she'd give him all the details and everything. Fern complains that he tried to discuss it with Lety, but she was evasive, as she always is when he tries to talk about cooking the books.

Omar reminds him that their lives depend on her handling of their ledger. She could lose him two cars, maybe three (referring to multiples of millions of pesos). They leave for lunch.

When they see Lety and the cuartel driving away in the Swigglekarr-3000, Omar tries to console Fern, while Saimon sulks on his Vespa. (It's damn lucky for PM that Yazmin's not around today!)

Fern and Omar arrive at Le Noir. Fern is still fuming about Lety and her friends driving to their party, with PM screaming like she was going to fall out of the car, waving at him with her brutal humanity, like a queen at Carnaval (he does a disturbingly accurate imitation of a beauty queen in a parade).

Omar answers that she's a sweet little dummy and he misses her. Seriously, he says that, unless I somehow got that wrong, but I don't think I got it wrong.

Fern asks the bartender for a quadruple of "the usual." Omar asks if he's going to take away Lety's car. He says he can't, because she bought it with Filmo-Imagen's money, and not money from Conceptos. All the same, he feels it's his car, because he started FI with his own money.

Omar says it might be his morally and in his heart, but it's not legally his. "It's Lety's," Fern agrees unhappily, sipping his drink. Omar tries to calm him down for their meeting, with little success.

The guy from Krauss arrives. Or as it's spelled in the captions today, "Craos." I have a better idea. I'm going to call it CHAOS, in honor of Get Smart. It's the German sportswear company.

Omar does most of the talking, because Fern is very distracted. Omar says the sportswear ad is looking good. Fern says that Lety arranged everything.

The CHAOS guy - I think his name is Millan - asks if Lety is here, because he expected to meet with her. Omar says she only does the financial stuff, and although she's very smart etc., she feels out of place in a restaurant like this, doing public relations and things like that.

Just then, Lety and the cuartel arrive. Fern is impactado. He and Omar make up a lame excuse to Millan, that something really important must have come up. Lety joins them briefly, but then goes back to her table; Millan says to Omar "Didn't you say she didn't like this sort of place?" Omar says he thinks that Lety is in the process of changing her lifestyle. Fern sourly agrees.

Doctors say that when our bones grow or heal rapidly, we may experience "growing pains." Perhaps that is why Lety grimaces slightly at this moment - it's the mild discomfort of her rapidly-developing spine. Grow, little spine! Grow and blossom!

Omar tells Millan how well Conceptos is doing, and has to prompt Fern to participate. (He has been watching the women dismember their lobsters.) Fern says something about adjusting a payment. I find this difficult to follow, but he says something about covering 60% of the remainder, or maybe 60% is the remainder - I'm not sure. It appears that they are asking Millan for more money than originally expected.

Millan remarks on how well Fern's assistant and the secretaries are eating. Omar tells him that Conceptos pays well. Fern sarcastically (and loudly) answers that Lety makes more than they do.

A champagne cork pops. PM LOUDLY toasts Lety's rich, generous boyfriend.

Millan really shows a lot of interest in Lety's financial situation. Omar assures him that Lety is very kind to her friends. (Lety discreetly turns around and grimly raises a glass in Fern's general direction.)

Omar tries to improve the moment by proposing a toast to tomorrow's presentation of the sportswear commercial; the sound of another champagne cork at Lety's table dampens the mood somewhat. Millan forces a bemused smile.

Fern and Omar return to the office just in time to hear Alicia whining "Papa, I'm hungry." Omar warns that they'd better get out of the way before she sees them, but Fern is still brooding over Lety's behavior. That's not the same sweet Lety we know! This is some other Lety! She knew they were going to Le Noir and she went there anyway! He says there's only one possibility - Tomas arranged the whole thing!

They're going to take his company away from him. Fern tells him the psychic's prediction is coming true. ("I see that your heart is trapped.") He tells Omar that one time, Lety has the caracoles read for her and it said her boyfriend was going to change her life. Sure enough, Lety's life is changing because of her "rich boyfriend." Omar scoffs.

Fern actually gets hot (literally) and starts fanning himself. Omar says it's revenge and they discuss motives. "She knows something," Omar suggests. Maybe she overheard something. Or maybe - he starts laughing - maybe she read The Letter!

Fern doubts it. Martha's daughter told him how she and her friends found and demolished that damned Red Bag and its contents and put the envelope in his briefcase. Even their moms don't know about any of this. Omar also thinks that Lety would act differently if she read the letter - she wouldn't spend the money on cars and restaurants; she'd start a big scandal.

Omar has a great idea: Fern just needs to re-seduce Lety. Then they won't have to worry about her revenge, or Tomas Mora. Fern laments the corrupting influence of "Tommy Boy."
